its so fucked up that they just record every broadway show and put them in a vault somewhere and you can only view the footage in person in new york if you apply for like seven different library permits and have an academic reason to watch it like all this priceless artistic work that will literally never be replicated again is just sitting there and 99.99999% of people have no way to access it!! sick!!

#and even if you get to watch them you can only do it once or twice #literally sick #theater is so inaccessible #fuck the world #:middle_finger:#like once the run of a show is over and its been a couple years why not release it #like people will pay for it and i guess there is the concern of people not coming back to see revivals but many many shows dont even get #revivals #and being able to watch recordings imo only increases the likelihood of seeing a show in person like if i see a play i genuinely love im #much more likely to see that if theres a production near me than if i had no context for it.whatever #WHATEVER!!!#and theres only ever bootlegs of musicals and THAT scene is equally crazy
