#magnus bane#shadowhunters#catarina loss#ragnor fell#dot rollins#luke garroway#raphael santiago#would raphael count?#bc he seems to sort of be a combination of like.#sassy younger friend little brother and son#either way!#let magnus have friends and platonic relationships outside of alec and alec's siblings!#both canon friendships (such as catarina and ragnor and such) and non canon (maia and simon for example? meliorn? c'mon!)#and before y'all are like 'but he has ragnor and cat' or whatever#bitch what i mean is like.....#a) let magnus have friendships onscreen and have scenes actually with them#because we've only had like one or two and ragnor is literally dead now#(speaking of which. LET MAGNUS MOURN RAGNOR OKAY.)#and b) give magnus friends in fics too!!#like most fics i read either magnus doesn't have friends or all his friends are alec's friends#and like... that's just the malec fics#there are virtually no fics just about magnus and his friends#like there are a gazillion lightwood siblings fics#and alec brotp fics (with clary simon maia and anyone else you can care to name probably)#but there are very few fics purely about magnus and his platonic relationships that i've seen#and even those tend to be about him talking about alec#and talking about how perfect alec is#or god forbid them telling him he's 'not good enough for that boy' or whatever other bullshit#i've actually read fics where catarina tells magnus off for breaking up with him (book and show) and says he doesn't deserve alec#or whatever
