Now that it’s been a couple days and I’m 90% done grieving, I want to bring up some thoughts I have on the Barry and Dundee break up situation that no one asked for.

It still sucks for that rep to be taken away. I’m very much forcing myself to stick with the mindset “don’t cry because it’s over, smile bc it happened” with both the rep and the relationship in general. The biggest issue I was concerned with after it happened was the streamers not learning why people were upset, because when it comes to topics that don’t directly affect you- ie sexuality, gender, race, etc- education is so, so important to expand your world view.

W took the time to learn and discuss with people why what happened was hurtful; which to me, is huge- that someone was willing to learn from what they did and hear others points of view. He also said he talked with B about it (how that conversation went, we’ll never know, and B hasn’t discussed it either).

I’m not trying to convince people by saying this “oh they didn’t mean it, why are you still mad”- absolutely not. There are still a ton of steps these people could have taken to have prevented this and they didn’t. It’s been over a year. But I want to point out that people deserve the opportunity and time to educated and learn. And it can be a cruel, slow process, and people aren’t going to be perfect right away. If you want to hold them to that standard, that’s fine. And if you don’t, that’s also fine.

In the end, reader, if you’ve made it this far, if you were/are hurt from the b and d split, your feelings are valid and I hope you can heal soon. My dms are open if anyone wants to talk or share their thoughts. Take care <3
