now imagine Atsushi baby with his ability with dazai taking care of him (Supposed to be just a small comment ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ)
Atsushi is a baby angel to dazai and the devil incarnate to others, Imagine dazai leaving someone from the mafia to take care of atsushi while he's on a mission.
(character name ) stopped fearing many things a long time ago after joining the Porto Mafia. He will never regret the path he took, but he cannot deny that sometimes his work is exhausting, both physically and emotionally.That's why when he heard that the dazai executive was giving a good amount of money for someone to take care of the child kidnapped adopted, he signed up for work
who did not know the little silver-haired baby that dazai carried with him everywhere (character name) many people whispered how long the child would last in dazai's care So it was a surprise for everyone to see the boy alive and happy after a month in port mafia that he is not in the care of chuuya Many who had seen him in person did not hesitate to say that he was an angel turned into a baby to calm the madness of his dazai executive. Another whispered that it could be the start of his boss's tendencies mori developing into dazai.
"Woo I didn't think so many people wanted to take care of sushi! Although who could say no to atsushi-kun! No ? Sushi ? "Said dazai while shaking the baby up and down like a stuffed animal (character name) is still surprised that kid will last so long even with the mistreatment of his body, atsushi did not stop laughing as he was shaken in the air
"Atsushi is not an annoying child at all, he follows orders very well, so as long as you don't make him cry and he is good , I promise you that you will live depending on your level your wounds will be minor ! !" Dazai said it with such enthusiasm that at first he didn't register the death threat directed at him.
"Eh-"
"Well I'm leaving good luck to live ! "
As dazai left the room laughing out loud (character name) he stared at him in bewilderment as he held the baby that had been given to him
" I guess the threat makes sense, but I really don't think it's necessary, everyone knows that they shouldn't harm what belongs to Dazai"
The day with atsushi was the most pleasant rest he had had all week the baby was a quiet child in general he and the baby spent most of the time watching TV on the sofa all afternoon .
" Dazai is an exaggeration huh? Who could hurt you with how adorable you are " he said as he lifts the boy up to see his face up close something that he had found fascinating was the striking and rare color of Atsushi's eyes.
" I've never seen eyes like that, better watch out or I'll try to steal them from you ~~"said jokingly (character name) while cooing at atsushi and laughing but he stopped when he saw atsushi's expression that seemed scared " oh oh no no I said it as a joke! Nothing serious! don't cry shhh shh ! " He quickly sat Atsushi down on the sofa and began to make a strange face at him to calm him down. After a while, the boy calmed down and he sighed in relief.
The night is coming the streets were starting to get quiet and the moon looked like it was going to rise tonight " Well it seems that it is already late I think it is time for a child to sleep~ " Although he had stopped atsushi's crying, he no longer heard the boy laugh after ( I hope you are not resentful or I will have a problem later tomorrow I will give you a piece of candy and your anger will go away )while laying atsushi down in his bed, the awkward situation of not knowing how to make the child sleep occurred ( And now what do I do?) scratching his head, he looked at the street through the window next to the bed while he thought of a story to children to tell Atsushi.
"Yo- you don't have to tell me a story, I under- understant that you don't know any"
"eh ! " He stopped looking at the window to look into Atsushi's eyes, surprised to hear him speak for the first time all day. (what the hell could he always talk!? He only knows a few words!? ... his eyes were always so bright ? ) while the moon came out and slowly illuminated the figure of the child, the gangster just asked to pay attention to those bright eyes that slowly became brighter the yellow and purple fight for dominance ,standing next to the bed the gangster couldn't move something in his instinct told him that once he moved he would see something he wasn't ready to see The tension in the air was palpable and even without saying anything else, something told him that it was Atsushi who had the power while he was caught up in the surprise of the situation. Atsushi bowed his head to the side and said innocently " Run " and I take his arm
As he watched the adorable boy change into a beast he thought " I already remembered that I had forgotten... I forgot to feed astushi at night" it was already late the lights were off and the room was only illuminated by moonlight and the brilliance of a skill being activated while that small hand that held his arm it transformed into claws capable of disemboweling a man he finally understood dazai's words
The moon lit the empty and silent streets if you were attentive enough you would hear the roars of an animal ready to play
Dazai was gone for three days so bad luck for the guy
au where the younger guys r way younger so like atsushi akutagawa junichiro etc
and its a dazai meets atsushi before / during the time he leaves the mafia
only
only becuz i got an image in my head of dazai holding baby atsushi wrapped up in his coat, setting him down and saying
"baby, today im going to teach you how to plant a bomb in chibi's car" as he's planting the bomb in chuuya's car - baby atsushi just coos
also becuz image of toddler akutagawa and baby gin playing and chuuya rushing in to swoop them up and toddler akutagawa looking scandalized before he recognizes him
#bungou stray dogs atsushi#bungou stray dogs#nakajima atsushi#The guy survived with many injuries and traumatized after being chased by a tiger all night#The tiger got angry because they didn't take care of Atsushi#The boy told the others about atsushi and they all went to try to help him#spoiler lost#Byakko had fun because now he has more toys#If you are not a 5 star caretaker or dazai with atsushi you will end up hurt#That you didn't brush Atsushi's teeth take a 🐅#You didn't comb his hair? Did you feed him something he didn't like? Take a byakko#Chuuya tried to take care of atsushi but once byakko came out he went crazy with it and they destroyed things while playing#Chuuya no longer takes care of atsushi after that it's like cat drug having them together without supervision Dazai had to stop#The tiger also comes out during the day but only part of the body#nobody can look at the child in the same way after discovering this#My first language is not English so there may be wrong verbs or words in this#Live ? Life ? Mafia ?Gangster? The terror of my life#It's early morning here#Dazai cheats since the tiger can't play with he#Dazai is bragging about it too dazai doesn't fully understand the danger of atsushi's ability#Chuuya does understand and is irritated with him#He wants to take care of atsushi more but he can't and he has the akutagawa brothers#The tiger does not damage aku He simply puts it on his back and the baby aku has fun lending his ability to the giant tiger#They never again left Atsushi and Akutagawa together on a moonlit night.#I didn't know which character I wanted so no name lol#Atsushi can talk but was told not to talk to strangers

Scenario: Himuro moving away
gender neutral reader
All good things seem to come to an end. All your life, you were painfully aware of this fact. You tried making some exceptions, but they just proved you wrong in the end. So why did you think Himuro was any different?
You and Himuro clicked almost instantly ever since he moved into town and into the house right next to yours. It was your typical cheesy boy next door love story, but it still filled your life with colour.
The two of you began as friends, spending an awful lot of your time together— walking to and from school, study sessions and just plain hanging out. But by far, your favourite thing to do with Himuro was climb up to the roof of your house and stare at the stars together. You’d think that with the sheer frequency of your visits to the roof that either of you would get tired of it, but you never did. The stars never failed to fascinate you. Moreover, you had memories attached to the place. This was where Himuro confessed to you for the first time. You remember it like it was just yesterday.
“... and then I slipped on one of the steps and landed on Atsushi and everyone looked horrified,” Himuro recounted his awful experience that day as you tried to hold back your laughter.
However, the imagery of it only made you laugh even harder, “How are you that clumsy?” you said between laughs, clearly mocking him.
Himuro clicked his tongue in annoyance and slapped your arm lightly. “Stop laughing. I could’ve really gotten hurt, you know,” he said, not taking his eyes off of you for a moment, even after you had simmered down and looked back up at the sky.
“Sorry, sorry. I’m glad you’re okay. But you’re just really stupid sometimes,” you smiled, meaning every word you said.
Himuro just rolled his eyes as a response before a silence fell between you two. It wasn’t awkward nor uncomfortable, the two of you just embraced each other’s presence like it was second nature.
“Hey, Y/N,” Himuro said, breaking a five minute long silence after fighting the nerves by himself.
“Mhmm?” You hummed, looking over at him and realising that he seemed unusually on edge.
“What if I told you that I liked you?”
You felt your heart skip a beat at the sound of those words before your rational thinking came into play. “Well, I wouldn’t be surprised because you’re supposed to like me. You’re my friend, after all.”
Himuro visibly hesitated for a moment before deciding to go for it. “No, I mean more than in a friend type of way.”
You felt yourself freeze up as you tried to process what you had just heard. “Oh,” was the only thing you could muster.
A few seconds of silence passed as Himuro grew more and more nervous. “Should I have not said anything?”
You still didn’t say anything as your mind tried to come to some form of coherent thought. “What if I told you I liked you back?” you finally said, so nervous that you were unsure if he had even heard you.
He certainly did though as his eyes lit up and a gentle smile fell upon his face. He didn’t plan this far ahead. Now that he had gotten his answer, his mind was in a frenzy. “Can I kiss you?” he asked you softly since it was the only thing he could think of to do at that moment.
Without missing a beat, you nodded your head yes. And on that roof, under the stars, was where you and Himuro kissed for the very first time.
Ever since that night, the two of you would be all over each other. Of course, the change in titles was a bit awkward at first, but for the most part, the way you acted around each other wasn’t all that different. You’d still argue over your favourite tv show characters, you’d still laugh at each other’s jokes and you’d still meet up on that roof together. So really, nothing changed except that the two of you would hold hands and kiss every now and again.
It was perfect to you. You both really did love each other to the point where you could barely imagine a world without the other in it. Everything came so naturally with Himuro that it was so incredibly easy. You’d really never felt this way with anyone else before.
No one else around you was surprised when the two of you started dating either. When Himuro told Murasakibara about it a few days after you two got together, he even said, “Oh you two weren’t already a thing? Congrats, I guess.”
A little over a year had passed since you two began dating and things were going smoother than ever. Well, that was until one evening when the two of you were walking home after school.
“Hey Y/N, I kind of have to tell you something,” Himuro said, his voice softer than usual, making you stop swinging his arm playfully out of concern.
“What is it?” You questioned.
“Um, well, it’s kind of hard to say this, but I’m moving,” he said, avoiding eye contact out of nervousness.
Your heart sank as you stopped in your tracks, forcing Himuro to stop too. “Moving? Where?” you asked, bewildered.
“Back to America. My dad got transferred again, so we gotta move,” he explained, hating how pained your expression was.
You felt tears prick your eyes as you processed the fact that this was actually happening. “When are you leaving?” you asked, praying that it was a faraway time like next year.
“Next week.”
You felt everything shatter around you. The wind that blew your way draining the warmth out of you entirely. “But they can’t just move him away so suddenly! Surely there are documents and other processes he needs to sort out,” You argued, trying your best to convince yourself that you could keep Himuro for just a little longer.
“No, it’s all confirmed. Most of the stuff at home is even packed up,” Himuro said, trying to fight back tears of his own as he brushed his hair out of his eyes in frustration.
“Oh,” your voice cracked as tears streamed down your face. “So how long have you known?”
“About a month now. I was just trying to figure out how to tell you—“
“A month?” You exclaimed, raising your voice ever so slightly as you felt a wave of anger flow through you. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I didn’t know how. Plus I knew you’d get all sad and I didn’t want our last few days to be spent with you crying,” he explained, reaching his hand out to your face so that he could wipe the tears away.
He was quickly shut down by you swatting his arm away though, making him furrow his brows in confusion.
“How do you think this is any better?” You snapped. “I thought we told everything to each other. Now there’s no fucking time to do anything, do you realise that?”
“I do, but—“
“Save it, Tatsuya,” you cut him off as you wiped your tears away with the back of your hand. “I just need some space.”
Just like that you stormed away, deciding to walk back home alone and leaving Himuro behind, confused and hurt. He knew that you weren’t actually mad at him. He knew that you were just lashing out your frustration onto him because there was nothing else you could blame. He knew that. But why did watching you walk away cause an ache in his chest?
Himuro let you have the rest of the day to yourself. He did send you a few texts asking how you were holding up, but they got no response. In any other situation, he would’ve just walked right over to your house and checked for himself, but something told him that he was the last thing you wanted to see, despite the time crunch.
Himuro didn’t see you nor did he get a reply from you the next day either. By the time the evening rolled around and he had heard nothing from you, he decided that it was enough. If he didn’t do anything now, the last memory he’d have of you would be your anger.
The raven haired boy walked over to your house and knocked on the door. Your mum let him in with a smile, not thinking too much of it since she was so used to having him over. When Himuro entered your room, he found you simply just laying on your bed, staring at the ceiling with a blank expression.
“Y/N, are you just going to ignore me until I leave?” Himuro asked without even greeting you first.
You immediately sat up at the sound of his voice and stared at him from across the room. Now that you had run out of tears, you had slowly come to terms with the fact that he was actually leaving and you couldn’t really blame him. Your anger was uncalled for, but you didn’t want to admit it, not that Himuro was expecting you to anyway.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, voice raspy as though you’d just finished crying.
Himuro sighed as he felt his tension simmer down. He came in here expecting to tell you off, but it seemed like he didn’t need to do that after all. “You don’t need to apologise,” he said calmly as he walked over to your bed and took a seat next to you, placing a soft kiss on your forehead. “Would you like to go up to the roof?”
A small smile fell upon your face for the first time in a while at the comforting words as you nodded in response.
Himuro took your hand and held it tight as the two of you headed up to lie down at your usual spot.
There was a full moon that night. Of course, the stars seemed inferior to the sheer brightness of the moon, but the night sky was still as gorgeous as ever. The two of you laid in silence for a moment to fully take in the sight. As you finally felt comfortable again, you noticed that you ended up matching your breathing with Himuro’s without even thinking of it.
“Do you really have to leave?” You said, directing your focus to your boyfriend, who was now more important to you than all the stars in the sky.
“I’m afraid I do,” he answered, squeezing your hand tighter.
“Can’t you just live with me? I’m sure my parents won’t mind. It seems like they love you more than me anyways,” you suggested, tone dead serious.
You watched as Himuro laughed at your idea. You could never get tired of his laugh. It was so soft and lovely that it made you want to capture it in a bottle and keep it all to yourself. “I wish I could, but my parents would kill me if I even tried asking them now. They’re so stressed about the move and I absolutely do not want to interfere,” he said, the moonlight making his dark eyes sparkle.
You took a deep breath as a moment of silence passed you by. Every part of you hurt to be with him, knowing that you weren’t going to see him again. It was a surprise that you could even talk to him normally without bursting into tears.
“Do you think we should call this quits?” You asked him, your fingers fiddling around with his.
“Call what quits?”
“Us. This relationship,” you clarified, looking at him with wide eyes. “There’s no way we can do long distance, especially after being so used to seeing each other every day.”
Himuro went silent for a second as he thought it over. This really fucking hurts. He hated thinking about it but this was the reality. “Yeah, I guess it’s for the best,” he said.
You were fully aware that you were the one that suggested it, but now hearing him say that triggered the tears all over again. “Cool,” you croaked as you did your best to fight back the cries. It was useless though, because you quickly became a sniffling mess next to Himuro.
“Hey, come on, it’ll be okay. We can go back to being friends. I’ll text you,” Himuro paused to wipe away his own tears, “I-I’ll text you every day. And we can call, and play video games, whatever you want.”
Himuro shifted over and rested on his elbow so that his other hand could wipe the tears off of your cheeks. His tender touch sent butterflies to your stomach as you felt your heart ache. His hand moved up to brush through your hair, bringing some form of familiar comfort which slightly calmed you down.
“Promise that you’ll still be my best friend?” you asked him with your shaky voice.
“Of course. Who else is going to tell me that I’m stupid every day?” he joked, making you laugh through the tears.
“Can I ask you for a favour?” You said softly.
“It’s not going to be to stay, is it?”
You giggled once again as you shook your head. “No, it’s not,” you said as you sat up.
“Alright then, shoot.”
“Well, I know we’re back to being friends now, but can you kiss me? Just one last time?”
Both of you hated the finality of those words, but that was simply the reality of the situation. Himuro smiled and nodded, “Of course.”
He leaned in, pressing his familiar soft lips against yours in the softest way possible. He could feel the hot tears trickling down your cheeks. His hand moved to wipe them away as your fingers wandered into his silky dark hair. You didn’t want this moment to ever end. The feel of his lips against yours, the way he held you so carefully, the taste of the chapstick he applies to combat the coldness of your town— you didn’t want to say goodbye to it. You didn’t want to say goodbye to him.
Eventually, he had to pull away, knowing that the longer it went on, the more difficult it would be to end. “Satisfied?” he asked you with a smile, wanting to move away from the seriousness of this situation.
“I suppose I am,” you said with a sigh. “First and last kiss on this roof, huh? How poetic.”
“Hm, I didn’t even think about that,” Himuro said, realising how absolutely bittersweet that kiss was.
Another silence fell between the two of you. You didn’t need to say anything to know that the other was savouring these last moments together.
“Hey Tatsuya,” you said as both of your gazes were fixated on the sky once again.
“Yes, Y/N?”
“I’ll miss this.”
“Me too,” he muttered before the two of you went quiet again.
“Hey Tatsuya,” you spoke again after a few minutes.
“Yes, Y/N?” he replied, your name rolling off his tongue in the same sweet way as it always would.
“I’ll miss you.”
Himuro took a deep breath and ignored the break in his heart. There was nothing else he could do.
“I’ll miss you too, Y/N.”

three. “stalker vibes”
kozume kenma x fem dazai!reader
(bsd x hq)
tw: mentions of suicide, probably a lot of spelling mistakes
masterlist.          suicide freak!
Tumblr media
"class, today we have a new student joining us. please be nice to her" the teacher announced with a smile
kenma flinched at the sudden news. he kept his head down low, discreetly playing on his PSP under his desk, but he listened attentively to their teacher.
as the students started whispering to each other, kenma simply prayed that it wasn't the weirdo that kept bugging him last night. he didn't really know why he was suspecting it to be her. but with her out of context words last night, he couldn't help but be wary.
call it a gut feeling, if you may.
"alright, quiet down!" the teacher said "cmon in, l/n-san"
and just then, kenma swore he lost faith in both god and humanity all in one second.
he shakily looked up to see the same girl from the cafe. her (h/c) hair, (e/c) eyes, and her fairly tall stature was interesting.
but what seemed to catch most of their attention was the bandages covering her arms, legs, and neck. some parts of it could be seen through the uniform jacket and undershirt, while the bandages on her legs could be seen through the thin material of her black tights.
"good morning! im l/n y/n. please take care of me~" she cooed.
she sent them a close eyed smile, along with a wave. it was something about the smooth tone of her voice.or maybe it was her effortlessly captivating smile. maybe it was just the insane amount of bandages she had..
but there was something about her that just somehow had the whole class wanting her attention.
in all honesty, its probably just because she was insanely attractive.
"anything else you'd like to share about yourself?" the teacher asked her
"hm, maybe find out for yourselves~ let's be friends" she mused
kenma raised a brow at her awfully vauge answer. though he decided to shrug it off.
meanwhile, in her perspective, she was pretty much watching every movement of kenma's body. just before she took her seat, she whispered a small request to the teacher.
the teacher nodded along. "alright, you cam sit with kozume-kun, l/n-san"
"kozume-kun? will that be okay with you?" the teacher asked him
kenma froze as he felt multiple eyes land on him. his palms grew sweaty as he nervously nodded. he didn't like the attention he was receiving.
"i'll let you guys get to know each other for now. i'll be in the faculty room if you need me!" the teacher announced before walking out the classroom.
she grinned and skipped over to him.
"why." he muttered in annoyance "just why."
"hehe, well i did say i'd see you tomorrow, did i not?" she said with a cheeky smile
kenma simply stayed quiet, side eying her, before looking back down on his PSP.  "stalker." he said
she gasped in offense and dramatically put her hand on her chest. "im no stalker, excuse you!"
kenma scrunched his face up and looked her up and down. "stalker." he said.
"coincidence? not quite! fate?" she raised a brow amusedly "i mean, what else could it be than that!"
"please don't talk to me." kenma sighed
she blatantly ignored him and carried on talking. "or maybe! i specifically asked to be transfered to your school and class!"
kenma looked up at her with a look of irritation and disbelief.  "you what?" he scowled
"oh my.." she pouted and placed a hand on her heart dramatically "i was just kidding! do you really think i'd do something like that?"
kenma huffed and put away his console. "yes." he answered
"well then, you're absolutely right!"
"but what i didnt plan was to be able to sit next to you!" she pouted "so now some gentlemen are getting me a desk of my own" she smirked and looked over his shoulder "so for the time being, i guess there's just no other option than to sit on your lap" she chuckled
"oh, since it can't be helped. can't be helped" she said with a small hum
just before kenma would have had to resort to dropkicking her, the said boys waltzes in carrying a desk and a chair
"l/n-san! we got you your desk, sorry for the wait" one of the boys said
"damn." she muttered with a scowl
"damn?" the boys repeated with a nervous smile
"i mean, thank you! what kind gentlemen you are" she sent them a smile as she took a seat beside kenma
the boys all flushed pink and nodded back at her.
her smile quickly dropped as she turned to look at kenma. he was now playing his game again, and blatantly ignoring her.
"ke-n-ma~" she sang out
"kenma-kun~" she called out again
she smiled and slid her desk closer to his, her chair and herself following. she hummed in content as she felt their shoulders brushing.
"what are you doing" kenma asked with a huff as he scooted away from her
"what are you doing? were supposed to use this time to get to know each other" she said with a hum
"no thanks. i know enough." he responded blandly
she pouts and rocks her chair back and forth. "suit yourself. i might just woo the boys and girls for the time being" she said as she send a wave to a group of girls a few tables away from them
"i'd ask them on a double suicide, but no one could ever beat you" she cooed as she nudged his shoulder with hers
"i don't care" he said as he turned away from her
"meet you later at lunch pudding~"
"dont talk to me"
Tumblr media
as lunch time ensues, kenma practically bolted out the door. luckily for him, she stayed true to her words of 'wooing the boys and girls'.
currently, y/n was trapped in a circle of hormonal teenagers. she was merely smiling and laughing, throwing in flirtatious words here and there.
"eek! l/n-chan, come eat lunch with us!" one girl exclaimed
y/n blinked and smiled blankly. she was slightly concerned on how quick these girls' sexualities flipped a 180°.
"sorry, but i made plans with someone already" she said as she slyly pushed her way through the crowd  "maybe tomorrow!" she exclaimed before walking out
"if im still alive~" she cooed to herself
"now.." she muttered to herself as she stopped by a hallway. "where's that pudding head.."
she looked around a few more times before giving up. she shrugged it off and made a bee line towards the rooftop
"fresh air, nice view, conveniently placed rope.." she listed out with a content sigh. she looked around the seemingly empty rooftop and nodded with determination. she picked up the 'conveniently placed rope' and started tying a noose
humming a small tune to herself, she tied the rope around her neck with a smile.
"who would've thought that doing it in a school rooftop would be the trick?" she mused with a small laugh
meanwhile in poor kenma's perspective, he was merely trying to play his game in peace. he had ran away from kuroo, and the only possible hiding place left would be the rooftop.
all he wanted was to play his game.
what he didn't want, was to see someone trying to hang themselves with a huge smile on their face.
"w-what the-" he stuttered out
"oya?" she muttered out as she made eye contact with him
"kenma! great timing! perfect, actually!" she cheered
she slipped the noose off and waved at him, holding the rope with her hands.
"i was initially gonna be alone, but with you here, the whole game plan has changed!" she said with a hearty laugh
"y/n?! what are you doing?!" he asked with a look of panic in his eyes. he gripped his PSP tight as he warily stepped closer to her.
she cocked her head to the side and gave him a confused smile. "what else? im gonna hang myself, of course"
"dont do that! are you crazy??" he exclaimed
"of course im not! but this-" she motioned to the rope "this will be my way out! who knew the oldest method in the book would be the answer" she hummed
kenma didn't answer. but he slowly put down his PSP on the ground and creeped up on her. as she started singing some weird suicide song, kenma was already behind her. she simply thought he was planning on joining her so she left him be.
"alright! time to d-"
before she could slide her head in and wrap the noose around her neck, kenma was already tackling her.
"stop it, you suicidal maniac!" he exclaimed as he pushed his body against hers
her eyes widen comically as she slipped on the chair she was standing on, sending her flying in the air. as funny and as impossible as it is, she, for some reason, ended up having her leg stuck to the noose, leaving her dangling upside down.
kenma, however, was on the ground laying on his stomach. y/n looks at him with her (e/c) eyes, a look of confusion and irritation lacing her features.
"damn." she scowled
"damn?!" he repeated with a scoff
kenma stood up, dusting his uniform as he glared at her with his cat-like eyes. "i just saved your life." he glared at her "and why are you doing that anyway?"
she then smiled sheepishly and placed her hands on her chest. "i just thought that ending it here, without atsushi and kunikida-kun or anyone else to interfere, would be the perfect way out!"
"but then you came.." she gritted her teeth
kenma scoffed in offense and picked his PSP up from the ground.
"i actually thought you were finally gonna join me!" she whined  "imagine the hurt i felt after your betrayal!" she exclaimed dramatically
kenma sighed and clutched his pulsating chest. it was definitely his first time doing something like that.
"ne, kenma-kun" she whined "since you're already here, you might as well eat lunch with me"
she wiggled around in hope of freeing herself but sighed in defeat when she failed to do so.  "also, maybe come help me out of this?" she asked sheepishly
"just die like that." kenma replied bluntly. he took a seat next to her dangling body, cowering in the shade as he continued to play his game, though he sneeked some glances at her from time to time.
"but i snuck in some alcohol and i was dying to try it out" she sighed dejectedly
"alcohol?" kenma cringed
"well, yeah. i was hoping i'd consume so much i'd just die from it" she said nonchalantly "and because i like the taste of it"
"help me out ke-n-ma~" she sang out "ke-n-ma~"
kenma simply ignored her and continued playing.
"..." she paused
"kyanmaaaa!! ~" she called out while waving her arms around
"fine!" he snapped and stomped over to her, blushing once he caught sight of her lifted skirt. though there wasn't really much to see since she was wearing shorts.
"hold still-" he huffed as he tried to untie the knot
"hehe, this is real intimate, don't you think?" she chuckled and hugged his torso, though she ended up hugging his lower waist due to her current position. she nuzzled her face into his midsection, making him flinch
"yeah. real cute. romantic. wow." he retorted sarcastically as he started sliding her leg out
she let out a yelp as she suddenly fell on the hard ground. she looked up at his unamused face with a sly grin. she was laying the the floor while he looked down at her.
"so.. you come here often?" she snickered
"die."
"that's the plan!"

I Want It That Way
Tumblr media
Summery: Akutagawa is singing the backstreet boys and Atsushi is having a mental breakdown because of it
Characters: Atsushi & Akutagawa
Gen: Drabble
Akutagawa was humming. Atsushi wasn’t sure what exactly he was humming, but he definitely was and Atsushi has never felt as creeped out as he did right then at that very moment. Well-
That was a lie. The creepiness he was feeling at that moment had nothing on the shivers that ran up his spine like tiny little creepy crawlers when he stumbled next to the other man during their joint fight and actually heard what exactly he was singing.
“Rock your body~” he was muttering under his breath as he shielded them both. “Everybody~ Rock your body right~ Backstreets back alright~!”
Atsushi could have died right then and there and he wasn’t sure if even that could stop the nightmare vision he was having right now.
‘What the fuck!’ his mind screamed. ‘What the actual fuck!’
He wanted to cry, he wanted to curl up into a ball and just hide from this cruel and twisted world. Since when did the Akutagawa, rabid dog of the Port Mafia fucking sing Backstreet boys? Why? How? Why?
When Akutagawa snapped at him to focus after almost getting hit, all the weretiger could do was rub a furious hand over his watery eyes and nod with hidden terror. “Sorry,” he shouted, jumping from the targeted spot. “Sorry, was just distracted for a sec.”
“Fucking weretiger,” Akutagawa tsked and that was the end of it. Well- at least that’s what he’d thought.
---
The second time he heard that blasted song coming from his archrival’s lips was during a mundane meeting between the Agency and the Port Mafia. They had been stationed next to each other; close to the giant double doors, and while Atsushi had been bored out of his skull shifting this way and that, the taller dark-haired man hadn’t moved an inch, and Atsushi honestly thought he was asleep until he started that cursed humming again.
He had almost managed to convince himself that the incident had all been a fever dream, that it hadn’t actually happened and that he was just imagining things due to an untimely concussion or something, but nop, it really had happened, because-
“Oh.my.God we’re back again~”
Atsushi whimpered.
“Brothers, sisters, everybody sing~”
Atsushi softly cried,
But when the older male very subtly started to move in his position as if-as if, he was dancing?
Atsushi fainted.
----
“You have to believe me Dazai-san please!”
Dazai as expected was smiling at him with condescending amusement, and if Atsushi had been a lesser man, he might have clawed his eyes out at the blatant disrespect, but alas-
“Come on Dazai-san!”
“I’m sorry Atsushi-kun,” he sing-songed. “I just have a hard time believing little Akutagawa-kun is capable of singing anything let alone a song so out of his comfort zone he genuinely might croak if it was played in his vicinity.”
“But it’s true!”
He got a condescending pat on the head for his concern.
Atsushi had never hated Dazai-san more.
----
Atsushi blinked up at the ceiling of the infirmary. Things hadn’t gone as well as usual this time around. Every part of his body ached like never before, and he would have honestly started pitying himself if the screams next door hadn’t made him send it all over to his poor partner that unfortunately didn’t have the ability to selfheal.
Yosano was really making a meal out of it. Probably revenge, he thought. Yawning loudly he closed his eyes and didn’t open them till the other male was wheeled in next to him. “Now don’t move till you’re told so,” Yosano-san said, backing away from the bed after giving the Port Mafia member a quick once over.
He coughed. “Thank you.”
Atsushi smiled. Akutagawa had gotten much better at that type of thing. He briefly contemplated if he was the reason for the change, before brushing it aside just as quickly.
“You’re welcome,” was Yosano-san's reply; voice a lot more gentle this time.“Something I can get you before I take my leave?”
“My phone if it isn’t too much trouble.”
She fished it out from her pocket before turning around and leaving with a passing goodbye.
Atsushi opened his mouth to say something in the dawning silence that fell over them, but before he could-
~~~I’ve got a question for you, better answer now~~~
...It was the phone...
...The song was coming out of Akutagawa’s phone...
Atsushi choked. Vision darkening once again, and only a soft concerned whisper of Jinko? Following him into the abyss.
----
He was done, it was over, he needed this to end, to stop. Any longer and Atsushi couldn’t promise his own sanity any longer.
The orphanage might not have broken him, but fuck-
Akutagawa singing that-that song might legitimately do him in.
They were both on another mission again. This time accompanied by Chuuya and Dazai respectively.
“Why can’t I work with Chuuya-san?” Akutagawa questioned after Dazai had briefed them on the upcoming plan. If Atsushi hadn’t gotten to know him as well as he did over the year, he might have actually missed that slight tilt in his voice that suggested of begrudging disappointment.
Huh
Who would have thought? Just a year after their last huge team up and Akutagawa was already moving on from Dazai-san's acceptance.
Dazai most have noticed the tone as well, because his smile widened even further. “Awww, doesn’t little Akutagawa-kun wanna team up with me anymore? I’m hurt~”.
Chuuya scoffed, slapping the taller male on the back of the head. “Shut up bandaged freak,” he snapped, but the little smile dancing at the corner of his lips was evince of how pleased he was of the fact that Akutagawa chose him over the other man.
Well, it didn’t really matter to Atsushi, in fact, this was perfect. Chuuya-san seemed to know Akutagawa pretty well, so maybe he could shed light on this new fixation he had on that ridiculous song.
----
“Chuuya-san?”
“Hmmmm?”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Sure kid, go ahead.”
Their mission had gotten off without a hitch and Atsushi had finally built up the courage to ask the burning question in his chest.
“It’s about Akutagawa.”
“Oh,” Chuuya momentarily turned around to look back at him with a curious face. “What about him?”
Atsushi gnawed at his bottom lip in thought. How could he phrase this question exactly? How did you tell the superior officer of your partner that said partner’s singing habit was disturbing you and you wanted it to stop?
He opened his mouth, but before any profound sound could escape past his lips, their two other companions rounded the corner. “All done,” Dazai called out to them.
Chuuya-san bellowed back in the affirmative, before doing something that made the white-haired teen next to him pale in horror.
“You are my fire~” he sang loudly, actually making Dazai-san stop and blink in confusion. Good, Atsushi thought, serves him right. “The one desire~ Believe when I say I want it that way~” he continued, and Atsushi just wanted to die. This couldn’t be happening.
It was like a switch turned inside Akutagawa’s head, because he started to bob his head to some unknown music before echoing back the familiar lines while adding the next once “But We Are Two Worlds Apart~ Can't Reach To Your Heart~”
With those words he cranked up the volume on his phone before finishing with as much of a flair as the rabid dog of the Port Mafia could have. “When You Say That I Want It That WAAAY~”.
Dazai-san looked so disturbed; Atsushi would have genuinely found it funny if he himself wasn’t currently experiencing unrecoverable trauma.
He fainted when they reached the chores.
----
He was later told by a highly amused Dazai-san that apparently that song had become Chuuya-san's and Akutagawa’s inside joke/bonding song when the former’s phone accidentally played the song while trying to discreetly sneak into an enemy base.
They had somehow miraculously gotten out of the sticky situation but ever since then it had become some sort of a running joke between them, and they had taken to singing that whenever in a tough spot or after a mission.
Dazai-san found it hilarious.
Atsushi thought it was horrifying,
Ok, maybe slightly cute and funny too, but definitely horrifying.
And if he’d started humming the dumb thing himself from time to time, well-
Who could blame him? And it made Akutagawa smile and yeah, that was ok. It was fine. Akutagawa needed to smile more anyways.
