watched an episode of the chosen (online tv series about Jesus) and it was good! but watching it I was wondering whether they'd not heard of hemming clothes in 1st century Judea
#I'm just being annoying#it was nice! a sort of local church is doing watching the chosen and talking about it afterwards on sunday evenings#one of the ladies pointed out that it was nice that it really humanises Jesus and the disciples and shows them having fun and being normal#people etc#i didn't speak to her in gaelic but she said she had gaelic as a first language but she grew up on the mainland so as a toddler she quickly#realised that no one around her spoke gaelic so she came to just speak English.but her parents are from harris#and at the time they didn't really see the importance of gaelic and bilingualism etc#i know i should maybe try to speak to her in gaelic but maybe it would just be uncomfortable for the both of us bc I'm not charming and#sympathetic enough to carry it off haha#also I'm very bad at faces so i probably won't recognise her haha
