i feel like i have such an interesting relationship with the smell of cigarettes and weed (not really sure if it's a unique relationship however)
like i'm fairly used to the smell of weed because we had a neighbour for about two years who would open his porch door and smoke some loud ass grass every once in awhile, i don't really have any strong opinions of it (i've never actually done drugs i'm a poser ik (light-hearted), i'm interested i've just never had the opportunity y'know)
cigarettes however! i don't usually like the smell of active cigarette smoking and it tends to make me cough, but the lingering smell of cigarettes after someone has left the area is incredibly nostalgic and comforting to me. because i'm close with someone who's smoked cigarettes all the time that i've known them and i care about them a lot so i just think of them when i smell it

Illness won't stop love (Cured!King Baldwin IV x Witch!Female!Reader)
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
a/n: I have never watched kingdom of heaven before but I know of it because my sister watched it so I am gonna write for the king :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: unrealistic but okay, religious stuff, occ?
Baldwin groaned as he sat on his throne. He praised himself for getting all the diplomatic work done half the time he usually completes.
Every passing day his bones and muscles ached, his mind spinning, overwhelmed with his kingly duties. His mind was filled with thoughts and plans but he was too weak to act on them.
While determined and strong willed, he was aware of his sickly disease and how weak he is compared to anyone else. He often spent time looking up, thoughts of gods plan with him.
Why?
Why would god plague him with such illness, what had he done? What was his sin against his creator? he often found himself praying that he could, maybe, just maybe, be cured and continue to live and be the greatest king he could be, have a wife and an heir, to live his life to the fullest with no worry of death coming as soon as he always prepared himself for.
He knows he should not question God, and be grateful for his life but even then his mind does not stop thinking such thoughts.
He sat still staring into nothing, deep in thought as a few servants scuttled about, cleaning and tending to the throne room. The sounds of their whispering had started bothering him, the constant sound of pattering feet didn't allow him to think.
He slowly rose before clearing his throat. Some of the servants looked over in surprise and curiosity.
"I would like to be left alone, please." His voice is steady, firm, but gentle and warm. His servants rushed to leave the room allowing the king his privacy.
He sighed as he sat down once more. Alone in his own thoughts, he allowed himself to be consumed by his own mind, each thought, idea, word, running through his brain as he rested his eyes, deeply in his imagination.
Not too long after however does he hear a female yelp, a loud thud, and someone shuffling around the marble floor.
His eyes snapped open as he saw a small amount of mist covering a figure slightly. His eyes widened in surprise and shock as he stared at the woman in front of him. She wore odd clothes, not the kind he's seen before, her H/C was beautiful to him, mesmerizing even. Her S/C looked so soft in comparison to his heavily scarred and sore ridden skin.
He stood up and suddenly the strange and foreign woman stared at him before getting on her knees and bowing deeply, lifting her head enough to look back up at him.
"My king." She stated.
"Rise." Baldwin said as he motioned with his hand for the woman to stand. Slowly she did stand and still have a respectful demeanor.
"Who are you, and why do you come here?" She looked up, her E/C looking into his blue irises. She inhaled before kneeling and leaving her hands by her side "My king, I present myself as a witch from the North. I've heard of a prophecy that you will need to defeat Saladin but not without outside forces," She rose from her knees and reached into a small pouch, holding a vile with blue liquid, glowing and bubbling. "I've come to present to you a cure. You have my heart should I speak the lies of the devil himself.".
Baldwin was shocked and scared. A witch in his holy kingdom? Witchcraft is the devil's work. He could not decide if he should call his soldiers and risk the witch woman to hex him or to continue the conversation, only to eventually be found dead without reason, or to many, his leprosy being the cause.
He took the latter and prayed that no harm would come to him.
"Well witch, I want proof." The woman nodded and held her arm to her side, F/C mist circling the room, a wall of fog covered the walls of the room. The mist streamed into the middle of the room and created a circle, creating a pocket of white particles creating images.
They showed him being crowned king all the way to his death at an old age.
he could not believe his eyes. The images showed such small moments in his life that he could not recollect well but they were perfect for what he was told.
The mist that engulfed the room suddenly retracted and disappeared into the air.
He stared at the witch who stared back but with a slight fear in her eyes, not knowing if she would be in danger or not. Baldwin's breath hitched but he sat down. He racked his brain for thoughts but he was very overwhelmed by the information. He clutched his head and rubbed at his temples.
The two stayed in silence for a few minutes before the king made his choice.
"I shall take this potion if what you say is true." He murmured.
The witch stepped forward towards the kind on his throne and handed him the bottle gently before stepping back.
"I warn you my king, you will fall in a deep slumber, alive and well, but deep for the whole day." The king contemplated her words but slowly opened the bottle and drank the liquid completely.
After a few moments his head began to spun and he almost collapsed to the floor before a warm pair of arms caught him and held him before his eyes completely shut and he fell into a deep slumber.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
Baldwin squinted his eyes as the sun peaked through the window in the early morning. The light was dim due to the window covers but it was still bright to him. He slowly raised his body but was confused when he could feel his body weight shift onto his legs. He had lost feelings partly in his legs and arms but he could feel himself twitch and move on his entire body.
He was wearing some white sleepwear that he doesn't remember putting on and his mask was on the side of his bed. He was confused but slowly walked over to the mirror.
His eyes widened and he stumbled back but caught himself before he fell on the cold, hard floor.
He saw himself but no longer disfigured or ridden with rashes and sores. His golden locks framed his face, his eyes looking deep into his in the mirror, his skin was just glowey as the witch he had seen.
That's when it hit him.
The witch had saved him, the lovely witch that had given him a potion that she said would heal him and allow him to live his life fully.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
The whole castle was chattering with loud and bright voices. Their king was not only cured by gods miracle but he would be able to soon produce an heir should he be willing.
He sat on his throne thinking of the memory of you. You, you were to be his wife, you saved him, he could live without the fear of dying anytime soon.
Baldwin got a surge of confidence, he was determined to get you to come back but first he had to deal with royal affairs but nothing could slow him down, not anymore.
a/n: Part 2? Yes. I need to make a male version for anon OR male reader hcs for our king. Sorry if its shit though.
a/n 2: the part 2 will be linked to this post and mostly everyone who comments will be tagged (I'll try) but yeah! It's in the works

"I'M NOT SURE I CAN TRUST YOU" PROMPTS *  assorted dialogue, adjust as necessary
you remember the last time we did this. it didn't go well.
i told myself i'd never trust you again.
you're not very good at keeping promises, are you?
i thought we agreed to work together.
you're the reason i'm in this mess in the first place.
the last time i listened to you, it nearly got me killed.
i guess i don't have a choice.
you're my last hope.
this isn't going to end well.
i stuck out my neck for you once, and look what happened.
you could have told me the truth from the start.
you're a pretty slimy character.
you don't exactly exude trustworthiness.
i can't believe i'm listening to you again.
after everything that happened, i can't look at you the same.
you betrayed me.
how am i supposed to trust you again?
i put everything on the line for you, and you betrayed me.
i'm not taking orders from you.
how do i know you won't stab me in the back?
i promise you, it won't happen again.
you don't have a good track record of keeping promises.
that was bullshit, and you know it.
this time, you can trust me.
they told me what happened last time.
i won't make the same mistakes they did.
keep telling yourself that.
every time i trust you, it comes back to bite me in the ass.
that was the worst lie i've ever heard.
you're a shit liar.
you're not getting anything from me.
i'm not risking my life to save you, that's for sure.
you're talking out of your ass.
i don't believe a word you're saying.
you're full of bullshit.
that was the biggest lie you ever told.
and to think, i trusted you once.
i'm such an idiot for thinking i could trust you.
i'll never look at you the same again.
that was an awful trick.
did you mean to do that?
had i known what you were up to, i never would have agreed to this.
once again, you lied to my face.
they warned me not to trust you.
after all the things i've heard about you, i'm not sure where i stand.
you don't exactly have a very trustworthy face.
you look like a liar to me.
you won't hold up your end of the bargain. you never do.
why did you trick me?

summary: your attempts to find out the identity of your stalker lead you right where you least except... characters: reader, heeseung, sunoo and sunghoon genre: thriller, dark romance(-ish) warnings: themes of stalking, non-consensual photography, blood-covered dolls, stealing clothes, invasion of privacy, breaking in, toxic characters, betrayal, knife, drugging, kidnapping, etc. please PLEASE read at your own risk author's note: the title is inspired by this amazing song and the story itself is strongly influenced by my dreams and insta/tiktok edits of enha lmao; also this is the first part in a trilogy part two & part three word count: 2.3k
You feel like you're losing your goddamn mind. The last month has been the worst of your life. You literally dread coming home to another one of your stalker's "surprises". Sometimes it's photos of you taken from afar. Sometimes you return to your apartment only to find clothes of yours missing. Sometimes you receive little "gifts". Like creepy dolls covered in blood. So sweet.
Why haven't you called the police, one may ask? Well, you've heard of similar cases and the truth is, the police never take women's complaints seriously. They always make up some bullshit excuse about there not being enough proof. Or they try to make it seem as if the woman was somehow "asking for it" by leading some guy on or whatever.
So, you're stuck in this situation, being horrified of returning to your home every fucking evening. You can't afford to move out right now so, there goes nothing. However, you honestly don't imagine continuing to put up with this any longer. Therefore, you decide to take some action.
There are only two people other than you who have a key to your place. Thus, there are only two suspects you can think of.
Suspect number one. Your loving, doting, precious boyfriend Heeseung. You cannot possibly imagine him doing something so vile. Plus, he already has you. There would be no motive for him to stalk you and send you weird stuff and steal your clothes. True, he can be kinda possessive sometimes but nothing that would raise any red flags. He cannot be your stalker, you are pretty much convinced.
Suspect number two. Your adorable, sweet, younger best friend Sunoo. Once again, you cannot picture him being behind this. And yet...sometimes he has this resting psycho face clouding his usually adorable features. You don't wanna judge him hastily and without any proof. But sometimes he looks kinda dangerous. You know it's not his fault, he was just born like that. You have to investigate somehow and get to the bottom of this.
So, like the fool you are, you share your concerns with suspect number one.
"I have a stalker," you admit to your boyfriend one afternoon while you're watching a movie on the couch.
"What?!" Heeseung exclaims in shock.
Okay, his reaction seems surprised enough. There's no way he's acting.
"For the past month I've been receiving pictures of myself, as well as some creepy dolls covered in blood. Oh, and some of my clothes have gone missing."
"That's crazy! Why haven't you reported it to the police yet?" Heeseung asks, holding your hand, deeply worried about your well-being.
"Ugh, as if the police will do anything to take my case seriously. I'll figure it out myself. Well, with your help, hopefully."
"Of course, anything you need, I'm here for you," Heeseung promises.
"So, actually, you're suspect number one," you chuckle, not at all concerned Heeseung is behind this. He cannot be.
"I am?" he laughs. "Darling, I hope you know I would never-"
"I know," you cut him off with a trusting smile. "But you're one of the two people, other than me, who has a key to my place. And there was no sign of a broken door or window, so, whoever it is, obviously owns a key."
"Who's the other suspect, then?"
"Sunoo," you confess.
"Sunoo?!" Heeseung can't help but laugh again. "There's no way. He's a total angel. I just can't see it."
"Yeah? I lowkey see it, he has this creepy face every once in a while. He could totally pull this off," you reason.
"Well, what are you going to do?"
"I'm gonna confront him. Judging by his reactions, I'll be able to determine if it's him."
"Do you want me to come with you?" Heeseung immediately offers.
"Nah, that might intimidate him and he may not be as honest as I'd like him to be. Don't worry, we'll meet in a public space, just in case."
"Uhh, I'm not sure if you feel better but sure. Call me rightaway if you need help."
"I will, I promise," you smile fondly and kiss your boyfriend on the cheek.
The following day, you are sitting in a café with your best friend Sunoo, sharing mint choco ice cream that is a favourite of you both.
"So, I have a confession to make," you blurt out, mouth still full. "I have a stalker."
"Oh my God!" Sunoo exclaims dramatically.
"Yeah...I keep receiving weird objects and photos of myself. Also, some of my stuff have gone missing in the past month."
"The hell?! That sounds terrifying, why haven't you contacted-"
"The police?" you snicker coldly. "They won't help me, I'm on my own."
"Well, you've got me!" Sunoo replies enthusiastically.
"That's funny, because you're one of my suspects."
"Me?" Sunoo pouts adorably. "Y/Nnie...I wouldn't do something like that to you."
"I'd really like to believe that, Sunnie, but you kinda scare me sometimes, not gonna lie."
"Hey! It's not my fault my face does that thing when I'm not smiling. I promise I'm not your stalker!" he gets a little too passionate in convincing you.
"To be honest, I don't really think it's you."
"Who's your other suspect, then?"
"Heeseung," you shrug. "He's the only other person who has a key to my place."
"It's not him," Sunoo responds confidently.
"That's exactly what he said about you!" you cry out.
"Why are you not suspecting him, though?" Sunoo eyes you suspiciously.
"Well, if it was him, he would be quick to place the blame on someone else, you, for example. Therefore, it cannot be him."
"Ooor, he's only defending me to mislead you into thinking he's the good guy."
"I'm not sure that's the case," you shrug it off.
"Okay, then, are you confident we are the only two people who can access your place so easily?"
You try to think deeper about it. And suddenly it hits you. There was one other person who used to have a key to your place. But he gave it back. A week after you broke up with him for punching your friend (at the time) Heeseung for "staring at you" and "flirting" all the time. A week would have given him plenty of time to make a copy of said key.
"Sunghoon used to have a key to my place," you say out loud.
"Your ex?" Sunoo's eyes widen in shock.
"But he gave it back...a week after we broke up."
"He could have made a spare, that's really easy nowadays."
You nod in agreement.
"What are you going to do? Now that you have your primary suspect?" Sunoo asks.
"I'm not going to sleep. One of these nights he'll show up and I'll be ready to confront him."
"That sounds dangerous. Wouldn't you feel better if Heeseung and I were there with you?" Sunoo suggests warmly.
You shake your head.
"I have you guys on speed dial. If something bad happens, I'll call you rightaway."
"You have us on speed dial and yet we were your two suspects. The loyalty is dead," Sunoo tsks disapprovingly.
"Hey! It's not my fault you'd make a good psycho character in a kdrama," you try to joke to alleviate the tension.
"Damn right, I would."
Three nights later and you've drunk more coffee than is probably normal. You're so stoked there's no way you'll fall asleep. But you are tucked under the covers on the couch, pretending to be sleeping. Honestly, it'd be kinda disappointing if no one shows up. You must be crazy. Are you seriously looking forward to confronting your stalker, whoever he is? It's probably Sunghoon. You'd be pretty shocked if it was Sunoo or God forbid, Heeseung. You love them too much to expect something so creepy coming from them.
After what feels like forever, you finally hear it. The sound of the front door being unlocked. Slowly, almost impossible to notice. You curse yourself for being such a heavy sleeper. If you had been awake some of the previous nights, you would have caught him sooner. You wouldn't have had to put up with this for an entire month.
Your heart is beating so rapidly you feel like you're going to die any moment now. In retrospect, this probably wasn't the greatest idea. You probably should have notified the police just in case. Oh well, it's too late now.
Steps. Approaching. Slowly. Then, faster. Fuck. He's not gonna...Is he? The sheets you're hidden under are removed in one swift movement. He is.
"Miss me, princess?" Sunghoon asks, his voice as velvety as you remember.
You can't find the strength to say anything, let alone scream. You were right! It was Sunghoon all along!
"Missed me so bad you waited for me on the couch?" he teases you, running a gloved hand down your cheek.
Sooo far from the truth. You just wanted to know who was tormenting you. You didn't miss him at all. All he ever did was bitch about you spending too much time with Heeseung. He was a jealous, insecure wreck and all of that somehow manifested into the current predicament you found yourself in.
"Nah, just wanted to see who's been leaving me all these presents," you try to keep your composure.
"I'm surprised it took you so long to figure it out," Sunghoon chuckles darkly. "I thought you were smarter than that. Did you seriously think that dork Heeseung would be capable of something so wicked?"
"That dork is a much better person than you are," you spit out. Okay, probably not the best idea to confront him right now. Stupid Y/N...
"Hmm, is that why you cheated on me with him?" Sunghoon sighs wistfully.
"I never cheated on you, I started dating Heeseung three months after our breakup."
"Three months. Couldn't even wait a year. You're so cruel," Sunghoon pouts and sits next to you on the couch, making himself at home.
"I'm not the cruel one, terrifying my ex-girlfriend. Move on, Sunghoon. I have."
"Have you? Then, why haven't you thrown away the little gifts I gave you?"
How did he know they're safely tucked away underneath your bed? How many times has he been here without your knowledge?
"As evidence," you reply dumbly.
"Evidence you don't plan to submit," Sunghoon teases you.
"I will submit it if you don't stop."
"Why are you even giving me a chance? Obviously, you haven't moved on. Obviously, you wanted to see me again, didn't you?" Sunghoon caresses your cheek and you want to push him away, you really do. But it feels so nice, the coldness sending chills down your spine. Maybe you're just as sick as him.
"Obviously, you are delusional," you roll your eyes. You just have to keep talking to distract him.
You remind yourself that your hand is stuffed in your pocket, clutching your phone tightly. You could easily call Heeseung or Sunoo without Sunghoon noticing. They could be here in minutes as they live nearby. The question is who to call? If you call Heeseung whom Sunghoon is so jealous of, you are afraid that Sunghoon might be carrying some kind of weapon and Heeseung might get hurt. You are fairly certain that Sunghoon wouldn't hurt you physically but you are worried about your boyfriend.
Sunoo, on the other hand...Though he doesn't look physically threatening, him showing up might be a better idea. His angelic demeanour may lead to a diplomatic dialogue. Besides, Sunghoon's always had a soft spot for Sunoo. He wouldn't hurt him, right? So, without thinking too much into it, you call him.
"Am I though?" Sunghoon tilts his head to the side in a way you used to adore. Fuck. "Admit it, if I wanted to really hurt you, I would have. And if you wanted me out of your life, you would have filed for a restraining order or something. Since neither of us did any of those things, that means there's still a chance you crave me in your life, isn't there?"
"You’re fucking crazy if you think I’m going back to you."
Sunghoon grits his teeth angrily, but doesn’t say anything. You really should stop saying things that will make him mad but then again, your biggest flaw has always been excessive honesty. When you broke up with Sunghoon, you were explicitly clear why his behaviour was making you upset and that his jealousy was in the core of it all. At the time, you really viewed Heeseung only in friendly light so Sunghoon’s anger towards him appeared unfounded. Now, however…you were, in fact, dating Heeseung. So, clearly, Sunghoon would believe he’d been worried for a reason.
"Oh, princess, what makes you think you have a choice?"
Moments later, your strained conversation is interrupted by Sunoo who just lets himself in as Sunghoon conveniently left the door wide open.
"Sunoo, thank God, you’re here!" you exclaim even though you are perfectly aware that Sunoo wouldn’t be able to defeat Sunghoon in a physical fight. You just hope that his precious smile is enough of a weapon to get Sunghoon to leave you alone.
"Hi, sunshine," Sunghoon greets him calmly as if his arrival comes as no surprise. Wait a second…
"Hey, hyung," Sunoo responds and instead of being comforted by his appearance, you feel sudden dread upon seeing his angelic features slowly transforming into psychotic ones.
"Since when were you two so friendly?" you try to rack your brain. Back when you were dating Sunghoon, you never noticed anything. Did Sunoo like him?
"Since we share a common goal," Sunoo smiles softly at you, making you even more creeped out, as he pulls a blade from his pocket. What the fuck?!
"Aww, Sun, don’t scare her just yet," Sunghoon scolds the younger man gently. "We’ll have plenty of time to play with her later."
Sunoo is working together with Sunghoon?!?!
You try to make a run for it but you’re too slow so Sunghoon and Sunoo capture you quickly. Sunghoon’s holding you strongly from behind, while Sunoo is caressing your neck with the blade, not drawing blood, just messing with your head.
"Are you gonna be a good girl or do we have to drug you?" Sunoo asks sweetly.
You struggle against them but it is of no use. They’re too powerful and you were too foolish.
"Bad girl, it is," Sunghoon answers coldly and presses a piece of clothing against your mouth and nose, making you feel dizzy and sleepy. Fuck.
You really should have called Heeseung.
To be continued…

summary: kyra and yn both like each other and only start to make loves after charli becomes a pest.
𖦹 masterlist
"𝗦𝗢 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗘 you and kyra gonna start dating?"
i was caught completely off guard at that statement by charli. "huh?" all the eloquence left my body when i responded. "you and kyra. we all see it. you two make heart eyes behind the others' back all the time."
i could feel the blush creep onto my cheeks and around the nape of my neck. "i don't know what you're on about." it came out as a mumble but charli heard me.
"yn i can see you blushing. can you just ask her out already? the amount of times i've had to listen to her harp on about you is giving me headaches." i didn't know what to say to that either. "she talks about me?" charli looked dumbfounded that i picked up that piece of information out of everything else.
"yes, now can you please go and kiss her to shut her up?"
"you first. i'm not kissing anybody." it was then that kyra herself came over to join us, and had caught the last bit of what i had said. "who's kissing who?" "nothing, no one." i immediately shut it down and charli couldn't seem to find anything funnier. "so i'm gonna go now.." charli started to walk off.
"charlotte layne grant!" my voice held a warning for her that she knew she cop later. she didn't seem to care tho and ran off with a cheeky grin on her face.
me and kyra were left there, the latter not knowing what was going on. "what the fuck?" kyra whispered out at what had just occurred in front of her. "charli likes to screw around with us." i attempted to explain to my best friend of 5 years. a grin broke out on her face as she understood what i was trying to say.
"you got that right. wanna go to lunch with me?" i agreed happily and we headed for her car. what we didn't know was that charli had recruited katrina and they were both watching us from afar.
we went out to a local cafe and i took a seat at a table while kyra went up to order for the both of us; we did this together that often that she knew what i liked off by heart. she came to sit back down and the food followed soon after. we couldn't eat too much because we had training later on in the day.
it was a comfortable silence when we ate, and small talk about anything and everything when we weren't. i just felt so comfortable around her, she was the one thing in my life that i would sacrifice everything for, even my career.
we were in the middle of talking about something we'd both seen on the media, i had pulled out my phone to show kyra, and i saw her looking at me in the corner of my eye. as charli would have put it, she was making 'heart eyes' at me.
i thought back to the conversation i had with the young blonde earlier and her words echoed in my head. 'we all see it.' and 'you both make heart eyes at each other when the other isn't looking.' it got me thinking that maybe i should take that next step, maybe i should take a risk and ask her out.
my anxiety pulled my mind back down to reality, reminding myself of what could happen if she in fact didn't like me like that. everything would be ruined, the team dynamic and the bond we have going for over 5 years. and everyone would know. that's the last thing i needed. i looked back up to kyra who had just finished her food while i, on the other hand, was only halfway due to my daydreaming about the girl sitting opposite me.
"whatcha thinking about?" you. "oh nothing. just got distracted by something outside." i lied through my teeth to her face, i couldn't tell her now. i needed to at least get through training. then if she hated me i could pack up and move to england again.
we finished up, more like i finished while kyra waited patiently, then paid for the food and went back to the hotel the matilda's were staying in. i didn't even bother to go to my room, it was always one of us in the others room and this time it was my turn.
i flopped on her bed, starfishing in the middle, and taking up all the space. "yn move, i wanna lie down too." i shuffled over and held my arms out for her to fall into. she did just that, falling down onto me face first. we stayed like that for god knows how long before i checked the time and had a mini heart attack that we would be late. "i don't wanna leave."
"if we don't go, tony will skin us and drop us off the team." my tone was serious but my face betrayed how i felt.
with a groan she got off me and i grabbed my phone to go get changed in my room. "i'll come back to get you." i called out behind me and closed the door. as soon as i got into my own room i grabbed the first pair of any training gear i saw, changed the quickest i've ever changed and headed back to kyra's room.
it had only been 5 minutes, tops, so i knocked before hearing a barley audible 'come in!' and opening the door. kyra poked her head out from the bathroom and grinned at me. "geez, your quick. that desperate to get back to me, huh?"
i rolled my eyes at her antics, "you wish, ky." i shot back at her. "hurry up, let's go." she yelled back saying she was coming then ran back out to get her shoes on. we left to head down to the field where training was held. when we walked in together, both katrina and charli raised their eyebrows at me in a teasing manner.
i just flipped them off discreetly, trying not to catch kyra's attention.
——
we had just finished doing the last lap tony had ordered and i flopped onto the ground. the other girls were walking around, everyone was sweating their asses off and some had gone to the changing rooms already. kyra came over and stood above me with a sweaty grin.
“are you dead yet?"
"shut up, ky."
i managed to get out. she held her hands out for me to take and i did. when she pulled me up i came face to face, only an inch away from her. our hands had instinctively gone to my waist and her neck.
my eyes flicked down to her lips then back up to her eyes, just in time to see her doing the same to me. i thought back to charli and decided fuck it. "ky, do you wanna be my girlfriend?" it was silent for a second then kyra broke it and kissed me. i reacted instantly, kissing back and pulling her tighter against me.
she did the same with her arms around my waist, one of her hands trailing down to my ass, just resting there. we pulled apart and breathed heavily before i spoke up.
"so i'll take that as a yes?" before she could respond there was a shout from across the field. "finally!" it was katrina and charli, the latter being the one that yelled. "i knew you could do it yn!" while katrina just stood their smirking, even throwing out a wolf whistle. i shook my head at the two and turned back to kyra.
we grinned at each other and i whispered,
"finally."

Not Yours to Take
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dean Winchester x reader
Summary: In which Dean begs Castiel to take away your memories of him to keep you safe.
Warnings: cursing, use of pet names, canon violence.
A/N: Told from Dean's perspective. Shares some similarities to Cass taking Lisa and Ben's memories.
"Absolutely not," I said angrily.
"Dean...come on. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself on a hunt. You know that," she responded calmly.
"This isn't a normal hunt, (Y/N). I don't want you anywhere near it."
"I don't care. I'm not letting you go alone!"
"I've hunted alone hundreds of times, I'll be fine."
"You just said this isn't a normal hunt. Going alone is a suicide mission. Hell, the whole damn thing could be a trap."
"Exactly!" I yelled. "So why would I put you in danger like that?"
"Our lives are dangerous! We choose to keep fighting every damn day, no matter the cost--why should this be any different?"
"Because I can't lose you!"
She stared at me quietly, sadness etched onto her beautiful face. "Dean..."
"No--don't look at me like that. With Sam...with Sam gone, it's just you and me. You're all I have."
She sighed. "You still have Cass."
I shook my head. "He's never around anymore. Too busy with whatever angel business he's got going on."
"There's no one else to call," she said softly.
I knew she was right--hell, I knew I shouldn't do this alone, but that didn't mean I was going to risk her life. I crossed the short distance between us and gently touched her cheek. "I shouldn't have yelled...but my mind is made up. I need you to stay here."
She looked defeated as her pretty (y/e/c) eyes met mine. I hated seeing that look on her face, but I would rather have her alive and angry at me than dead.
"Fine," she murmured. "Just--for the love of God, be careful."
"Careful is my middle name, darlin'," I joked.
She rolled her eyes. "'Reckless' is more accurate."
I grinned as I placed a soft kiss to her lips. "I'll be back by midnight, okay? I promise."
"Don't make promises you can't keep, Dean Winchester."
"I'm coming back, (Y/N)," I said softly. I turned away from her to grab my jacket and my bag, unable to look at her any longer. She was scared for my life and she had every right to be...
We'd been hearing rumblings in the last several months of a supernatural hit that had been placed on my life. Basically every monster was out to get me--I'd become the hunted. I wished Sam was here every day, but he was one more person I couldn't save. I would be damned if (Y/N) was added to that list.
I started to walk out the motel room door when I heard her inhale a shaky breath. I couldn't look at her--couldn't bare to see the worry in her eyes--so I turned my head back in her direction, but my eyes were trained on the floor. "I love you, baby."
"I love you too, Dean," she whispered.
I walked out the door without looking back, knowing there was no way I would leave if I looked at her.
**********
I made my way to an old abandoned farmhouse just outside of town. We knew there were reports of a demon infestation of some kind. Our intel indicated this was the demons' home base. I had this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach, which intensified the closer I got, but I did my best to ignore it.
I opted to park the Impala about a half mile away to keep the demons from hearing me coming. I walked the rest of the way, staying off the main road.
When the farmhouse finally came into view, I noticed it was completely dark. It didn't look like anyone was home. As I crept closer, I continued to see signs of abandonment and disrepair. There were no indications that anyone--human or not--had been there in a long time.
That feeling in my gut crept back up and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. My hunter's instinct told me something was very wrong and I would be wise to listen to it.
Suddenly, my phone began to buzz in my pocket. I pulled it out and the screen lit up with (Y/N)'s name. A sense of worry came over me and I answered without hesitation. "Hey baby, you okay?"
I heard muffled sounds on the other end of the phone and my heart began to beat faster. "Babe?"
I listened more closely and I heard what could only be described as sounds of a struggle. I felt a wave of panic wash over me and my grip on the phone tightened. "(Y/N) answer me!" I yelled.
I started running back towards the car, not giving a damn if someone saw or heard me. Whatever was happening to (Y/N) was happening back at the motel--so that was where I needed to be.
I wasn't more than 100 meters from the car when I heard a terrifying sound that cut me straight to the bone. It was clearly a woman's cry of pain--and I knew in an instant it was (Y/N)'s voice.
"(Y/N)!" I yelled into the phone as I ripped open the driver's door of the car and slid in. "(Y/N/N), answer me, please!"
The engine roared to life and I took off in the direction of the motel. There was nothing but silence on the other end of the phone and terror had begun wrapping its icy tendrils around my heart. "Baby, please..." I whispered, not expecting a response.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N) can't come to the phone right now. Can I take a message?" an unfamiliar voice said through the phone.
"Who the hell is this and where is (Y/N)?" I asked angrily.
"She's right here, but she's a little--unconscious--at the moment." The voice chuckled. "Who I am is really not important. All you need to know is I'm here to collect on a bounty."
My foot pressed down harder on the gas and I tried to control my breathing. "Look here you son of a bitch. If you hurt her, I swear to God, I will kill you and everything you have ever loved."
The voice chuckled once more. "The famous Dean Winchester bravado. I had a feeling I would like you."
I had already assumed he knew who I was, but with my suspicions confirmed, my fear for (Y/N) only increased. "I'm the one you want, so why don't you leave her out of this."
"You know, I would, but you've been a very hard man to track down. I figured going after the person you love most would just make my job easier. Now, you'll come right to me."
I knew there was no point in arguing. The panic in my voice when I was yelling for (Y/N) had already made it very clear how I feel about her. "If I hand myself over, you'll let her go?"
There were a few beats of silence before the man responded. "I will agree to those terms."
"Good. I'll be there in 20 minutes."
I hung up the phone and continued to speed towards the motel. I had a feeling that whatever this creature was that had (Y/N) wouldn't have any qualms about ignoring the terms of our deal. I couldn't just go in there and hand myself over, but I also couldn't go in guns blazing. Despite all evidence to the contrary, I'm not suicidal.
I exhaled heavily, mind set on what I needed to do. I didn't want to--I didn't even know if he'd respond, but I didn't have any other choice.
"Castiel," I said aloud. "I, uhh--I could really use your help here."
All I could hear was the roar of the car's engine.
"Come on, Cass--I know you're busy, but this is important. I'm not praying to you just for fun."
Still nothing.
"Damnit, Cass! It's (Y/N). I need you, man. Please." I hated begging, but desperate times and all that...
"I'm here Dean."
I jumped slightly as Castiel appeared in the seat beside me. "I know I called you, but it's freaky as hell when you do that."
"Sorry," he said simply. "You said this was important?"
"Some asshole kidnapped (Y/N) and I need your help."
"Why would someone kidnap (Y/N)?"
"Oh, I don't know Cass--maybe it's because I have a goddamn bounty on my ass!" I said sarcastically.
"I see. They're using (Y/N) to get to you."
"Good job. Now we're all caught up," I grumbled. "I don't know what we're dealing with, but my money is on a demon--probably a group of demons."
"I can see why you called me."
I shot him an annoyed glance, but didn't comment on his statement. "I left her at the motel thinking she'd be safer there--I never thought one of these monsters would come after her to get to me."
"It's not your fault, Dean."
I was surprised he said that--because it was definitely completely my fault. If I had just let her come with me, she wouldn't be in this situation. "Then who's fault is it, Cass?"
The angel remained silent. I sighed and focused my attention back on the road. "We're about 15 minutes out."
"Do you have a plan?"
I thought about it for a moment. "Yeah...it's not a great plan, but it's all I got."
**********
"You're right, that's a terrible plan," Cass commented.
"You got a better one?" When he didn't respond, I continued. "Didn't think so."
"We have no idea how many of them there are."
"I'm aware of that, Cass."
"Just making sure."
"Just...poof out of here so they don't see you. This only works if they think I'm alone."
I could tell he didn't like the idea of me walking into a trap by myself, but we really didn't have another option. When I glanced back over to the passenger seat a moment later, he was gone.
I took a deep breath. "God I really hope this works..."
**********
Ten minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot of the motel. I looked around and spotted at least five people milling about outside, all trying to look like they weren't focused on me.
I got out of the car and started walking to the room, heart hammering in my chest. I had salt and holy water in my pockets, and an angel blade tucked into my waistband. I was as prepared as I could possibly be on such short notice.
When I reached the door, I turned the handle and was surprised to find it unlocked. As I stepped inside, my eyes scanned the room as quickly as possible. There were at least four demons in the room and (Y/N) was tied to a chair in the center.
"Dean! So nice of you to join us," one of them said. It was the same voice I had spoken to on the phone.
"I'm here, as promised. So why don't you just let her go."
The demon's eyes flashed black and he gave me a dark smile. "Oh please...you didn't actually think I was going to let her go, did you?"
My jaw tightened and I felt anger bubbling beneath the surface of my skin. While I hadn't assumed he would let her go, I really didn't like hearing it.
"I warned you, you son of a bitch," I ground out. My eyes flicked over to (Y/N)'s unconscious form and I took note of the obvious injuries. God only knew what they'd done to her before I got here.
"Yes, yes, murder, blah, blah, blah," the demon muttered. "Unfortunately, I'd already caused her quite a bit of pain before I made that promise, so there was really no use in keeping it."
My hands clenched into fists and I fought the urge to attack. Four to one were not good odds...nine to one was even worse. I needed Castiel to pick off the demons outside before I picked a fight with these ones.
"So which one are you? Demon #4,235?" I asked.
"I am Ariel," he answered smugly.
I choked out a laugh. "You're the little mermaid?"
The demon growled lowly. "I am significantly more powerful than a mermaid." With a flick of his wrist, I went flying against the wall, unable to move no matter how hard I struggled.
"I really hate Disney," Ariel grumbled. "At least I'll be rewarded for delivering your head on a silver platter."
"That's nice," I grunted. "I hope King Triton is pleased."
Ariel tightened his fist and I suddenly couldn't breathe. This wasn't the first time I'd felt this sensation, but it sucked every damn time.
There was a strangled cry from outside the room and it got the attention of all four demons. Ariel loosened his grip on me and I was able to breathe again. "What was that?" he hissed.
The other three demons shrugged in confusion.
"One of you go check it out."
None of them looked like they wanted to go, but eventually one stepped forward and went outside to check. He left the door open behind him, but he never came back in.
"For the love of Hell," Ariel muttered as he moved towards the open doorway.
"Not Hell," Castiel said from inside the room, angel blade slicing through the skin of the nearest demon.
Ariel's hold on me kept me pinned to the wall, but I felt it weaken as he spun around in surprise. Cass had grabbed ahold of the last demon and sunk his blade into the demon's chest. He glanced up at Ariel and took a menacing step in his direction.
The demon immediately abandoned his meat suit, a massive cloud of black smoke escaping into the night. I fell to my knees as his power left with him, body aching from the intensity.
"(Y/N)," I gasped out as I got to my feet and rushed to her side. "(Y/N/N) can you hear me?"
She didn't respond and I felt a moment of panic as I rushed to cut the binds around her wrists and ankles. She fell into my arms and I picked her up with ease. "I need to get her to a hospital."
"Of course."
"Uh-uh. Don't you leave yet. I know you can't heal her, but I might still need your help."
Castiel looked perplexed, but he nodded and followed me to the car.
**********
I wanted to stay by (Y/N)'s side when we got to the hospital, but the nurses told me to stay back in the waiting room. Castiel took a seat to wait patiently, but I had too much adrenaline to sit down. I paced back and forth for a good half hour, my boots wearing a pattern into the old carpet.
People were giving me odd looks, which I ignored. I was singularly focused on remaining in control of my emotions as we waited for news about (Y/N)'s condition. In the strangers' defenses, I did have a fair amount of blood on my clothes, none of which belonged to me, and I probably looked a little angry--okay, maybe a lot angry.
"Riley," a doctor called from the front desk. It was the name I had given when I brought (Y/N) in.
I practically ran to the doctor, Castiel following behind me. "How is she?" I asked, worry lacing my voice.
"She was quite clearly in a rather violent altercation, but she's going to be alright. She sustained a head injury, as well as several lacerations and bruises, but she's awake and asking for 'Dean'. I assume that's one of you?"
My body visibly relaxed. "I'm Dean."
"Would you like to go see her?"
I nodded and the doctor gestured for me to follow. When Cass tried to come with us, the doctor shook his head. "I'm sorry, but only one person at a time."
I turned to look at him, but Cass waived me on. "Go. She needs you."
I nodded gratefully and followed the doctor to her room. When I walked through the door, I saw the woman I loved lying in the bed, looking smaller and weaker than I'd ever seen her. It was enough to nearly shatter my heart into a thousand pieces.
She looked up at me when I stepped through the door and offered me a soft smile. "Dean," she murmured lowly.
"Hey baby," I said softly. Tears were stinging my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I didn't want her to know how emotional I was feeling in the moment.
"I'll leave you two to talk," the doctor said before closing the door behind him.
I crossed the room and grabbed her hand, giving it a tight squeeze. "I'm sorry," I whispered.
"For what?"
"For leaving you alone. I didn't think they would come after you..."
She squeezed my hand and a gentle smile graced her pretty face. "It's not your fault, Dean. Besides, I'm fine."
I nodded and bit my lip. "Thanks to Cass," I admitted.
"Thanks to both of you," she insisted.
I offered her a small smile. "I'm glad you're okay."
She tried to pull herself up into a more comfortable sitting position, but a gasp of pain escaped her lips and she slumped back against the pillows.
"Hey, don't try to move too much. Let me help you."
"Thanks," she mumbled.
I started to help her adjust so she'd be more comfortable. "Lean forward for me, baby, let me fix these pillows."
She nodded and leaned forward, giving me access to the crappy hospital pillows that were wedged between her back and the bed. As I moved them, her hospital gown shifted slightly, revealing her right shoulder blade to me. My body stiffened and I inhaled sharply as I took in the mangled skin where her anti-possession tattoo had once been.
I tried to keep my exterior calm as I finished adjusting the pillows and she leaned back against them, wincing at the pain. My face must have betrayed me, because when she looked up at me, a worried expression crossed her face.
"Dean? What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I lied smoothly. "I just don't like seeing you in pain."
She nodded, but didn't look entirely convinced. I had no way of knowing if she was already possessed or not, but there was one surefire way to find out. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the small vial of holy water I had there from earlier in the evening.
Unfortunately, she noticed my movements and her eyes narrowed. "I really wouldn't do that if I were you," she hissed, eyes turning black as night. "You'll hurt your precious (Y/N)."
Anger flared up inside me. "Get the hell out of my girl, you black eyed son of a bitch."
She laughed. "Why would I do that when I'm having so much fun in here? She's in here with me, you know. Wide awake and fighting."
She got out of the bed with shocking speed and sent me flying across the room. Apparently the demon had been faking pain to make me think it was (Y/N).
"You know what the best part of all this is, Dean?" The demon asked as it approached me. "She's going to watch helplessly as I gut you like a pig. I might even make her eat your entrails, just for fun."
I winced as I pulled myself into a sitting position. I was getting really tired of being tossed around like a damn rag doll. "I think you underestimate her," I said with a grunt of discomfort.
"The fight weakened her before I ever possessed her. She's not strong enough to overpower me." The demon leaned forward and grabbed my face in its hands. "You're not much of a threat either without your little angel pal--and you won't do a damn thing to hurt your beloved (Y/N)."
The demon was right about one thing--I wouldn't hurt (Y/N), at least not irreparably. I still had the bottle of holy water in my hand and I made the split section decision to toss it into her face. "Sorry, baby," I muttered as the demon jumped back in pain.
I managed to get to my feet, but the demon flung me against the wall again, holding me still with its power. I managed to gasp out (Y/N)'s name before the demon began to suffocate me.
I stared at the face of the person I loved most in this hellscape of a world and silently pleaded with her to wake up--to fight back. I didn't want to die, but more importantly, I didn't want her to have to live with the guilt.
I was starting to fade, I knew I was going to black out soon and then it would be all over for me. I struggled against the power that held me in place, but it was useless. I saw the demon pull a knife out of a bag of (Y/N)'s clothes. I recognized it instantly as the knife I'd given her as a gift when we first got together. Fitting that it would be the weapon that kills me.
The demon began to approach me and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was truly about to die. What was worse was the accompanying fear along with it. Would I be going back to Hell? Would (Y/N) be okay without me? Would I get to see my brother again?
Suddenly, the demon's black eyes flickered back to (Y/N)'s normal (y/e/c) ones. Her hand shook and she dropped the knife she was holding, a strained gasp escaping her throat. The demon's power over me faded in an instant, and I sunk to the floor, gasping for breath.
"Dean," she gasped, her face contorted in pain as she struggled to hold the demon at bay. "I can't--I can't hold him off much longer."
"Cass!" I yelled, trying to summon the angel for help.
"Exorcise him or kill me," (Y/N) begged. "I can't let him kill you, but I'm not strong enough to maintain control."
I suddenly wished I'd paid more attention when Sammy tried to teach me Latin...at least the words to the damn exorcism. "I can't remember the words," I said in distress.
"Then you have to kill me," she pleaded.
"I can't. I won't."
"The demon--it won't...won't let me recite the words."
"Son of a bitch," I muttered under my breath. I pulled myself off the floor and took a step towards her. "Hang on for me, baby. Please."
She nodded and I turned my back to her to open the door. I stuck my head out in the hallway and saw Castiel sitting patiently at the other end. Clearly no one had noticed the commotion happening in this room, including the angel. I stepped out into the hallway and waved to him, hoping he would see me.
Cass looked up at me and I waved to him, motioning for him to come here immediately. He stood up and started walking towards me and I gestured for him to come to the room. I ducked back in and closed the door. A second later, Cass appeared inside the room.
"What's going on, Dean?"
"She's possessed."
"That's not possible."
"The demons cut off my anti-possession tattoo," (Y/N) said through gritted teeth. "So, a little help would be nice."
Castiel fixed his gaze on her and his eyes widened slightly. "I can see the demon within you."
"That's disturbing," I muttered. "Get it out of her."
"I can't without killing her."
"What? Use your mojo, dude. That's what you do."
"Haven't you ever noticed my 'mojo' as you call it burns out a person's eyes?"
I thought back to all the times I'd seen Cass kill a demon and realized he was right. "Shit."
"Do you know an exorcism?" (Y/N) managed to ask. "Preferably a fast one."
"I know where I can get one." With those words, Castiel disappeared into thin air.
"Not a great time to disappear, Cass!" I yelled at nothing.
"He'll be back," (Y/N) said. "I think."
"Are you okay? How much longer can you hold him off?"
"He's really strong, so not much longer. Also, he really doesn't like you."
"Most demons don't," I said with a shrug.
"He keeps muttering something about the little mermaid. I don't know why."
My eyes widened slightly. "Well I do. His name is Ariel...and I may have made a little mermaid joke when we met earlier."
She managed a weak laugh. "A demon named Ariel. Awesome."
In any other circumstances, I would have laughed with her, but I was too worried to appreciate the humor.
"I have the exorcism," Castiel said as he reappeared beside me.
"Great!" I grabbed the book from his hand and realized it was my dad's journal. I held the leather tightly as I began to read the words from the page. "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas omnis incursio infernalis adversarii..."
The more I read, the more intense (Y/N)'s struggle became. She fell to her knees and cried out in pain, but I kept reading. I needed that demon to get the hell out of her body.
"Ergo, Draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adiuramus te! Adinos!" The moment I finished speaking, (Y/N)'s head flew back and black smoke escaped her mouth.
After a few seconds, her body collapsed on the floor and I rushed to her side. "(Y/N)!"
She lifted her head and her eyes met mine. She offered me a weak smile and said, "I'm fine."
I breathed a sigh of relief and helped her off the floor and back into bed. "Cass, go grab an anti-possession necklace from the trunk of my car."
As soon as the words were out of my mouth, Cass was gone.
"I feel like I owe you another apology," I said softly.
"For what?"
"Well...you didn't exactly get my first apology and I also need to apologize for letting you get possessed."
"You didn't let anything happen, Dean. None of this was your fault. Shit like this happens to people in this life...I know what I signed up for."
Cass reappeared with the necklace before I could respond. I took it from him and placed it around her neck, breathing a sigh of relief once it was in place.
"I will wait outside," Cass announced. He disappeared again before either of us could say a word.
"Angels," I muttered under my breath, earning a light laugh from (Y/N).
I turned my attention back to her and I sighed. I hated seeing her like this--I hated seeing her hurt and in pain. It made me want to kill whatever had caused her pain, only this time it was all my fault.
"Dean, I wanna go home," she whispered.
I wished more than anything that we had an actual home to go to, instead of yet another shitty motel. I wished I could give her the life she deserved, but I knew that would never be in the cards for us.
"Alright," I murmured, placing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Lemme talk to the doctor."
**********
We drove for over an hour to a slightly nicer motel in another town. I didn't want her recovering in that rundown place--the same place she'd been attacked and possessed.
(Y/N) was asleep in the backseat when we arrived, having fallen asleep almost immediately after leaving the hospital. Cass and I had ridden in silence the entire time, allowing me to have time to think.
I got us a room while Cass waited with (Y/N) in the car. When I returned, I gently woke her up and helped her into our room.
"I wanna take a shower," she stated. "I feel disgusting."
I knew the feeling, so I agreed to her request even though I was worried about her falling. Besides, I needed some time to talk to Cass alone.
I helped her into the bathroom and started the shower for her. She refused my help any further and shooed me out of the room. "I'm weak, Dean, but I'm not an invalid."
I chuckled and threw my hands up in surrender. "Just yell if you need me."
She waved me off again and I walked out of the bathroom, leaving her to her own devices.
Cass had sat down in a chair near the door and I made my way towards him. I didn't want to have this conversation...I didn't want to ask of this of him, but I didn't see another option.
"Thanks for coming to the rescue today," I began.
"You know I will always help you," he responded.
I nodded. "I actually need your help one more time before you go."
"With what?"
I took a deep breath. "This bounty thing--the price on my head--it's putting the people I love at risk. More risk than I ever imagined." I started pacing back and forth as I spoke, letting the words just flow. "What happened today just solidified it for me, ya know? I'm obviously living at risk every day of my life, but that doesn't mean I should be dragging other people into it. I mean, look at all I've lost so far--you and (Y/N) are all I have left."
I paused, needing a minute to just breathe. "My worst fears almost came true today. (Y/N) was hurt because of me...she could have died because of me. Then she was possessed by a demon who wanted to kill me? Imagine if he'd been successful! She would have had to live with that guilt the rest of her life and it would have killed her. I don't want this for her--any of it. She deserves better and I need you to give it to her."
I sat down on the bed facing Cass with a sigh. My head dropped into my hands and I felt tears pressing against the backs of my eyelids.
"What is it you're asking me to do?"
I stayed silent for a moment, taking those precious seconds to make sure this was the right decision. When I was certain, I looked up at my friend, sadness etched into my face. "I need you to take away her memories. I want her to forget about this life--to forget any of this exists. I want her to forget about demons and angels and all the shit that goes bump in the night. I want her to forget about the death and the pain and the endless battles. I want her to live a happy, normal, safe life--far away from this...far away from me."
Cass stared at me in silence for a moment. Neither one of us were aware our conversation was no longer private--the shower had turned off over a minute ago.
"Do you understand what you're asking? She will know nothing of this life, which means she won't remember you."
The tears finally pushed through my mental block and slid down my face. "I know. I hate the idea of her being out in the world loving someone who isn't me, but I can handle it because she'll be safe. She'll be happy. She needs to forget me...or she'll never be safe."
I heard the bathroom door open and I quickly wiped my eyes, trying to hide the pain I was feeling. I turned towards her, trying to put a smile on my face, but it slipped away the moment I saw her expression.
She was standing there, hair wet and dripping, wrapped in nothing but a bath towel. Her eyes were filled with sadness and a pain so deep it broke my heart.
"Castiel, will you give us a minute, please?" she asked softly, but firmly.
"I'll just be...outside," he muttered as he disappeared.
"(Y/N)--"
"No, Dean. This is my time to talk," she said cutting me off. "Sometimes you make me so incredibly angry--like a violent level of angry I didn't even know I was capable of. You're so...so...arrogant. So certain you're right and every one else is wrong. You make decisions without stopping to think how those decisions affect other people--you make decisions on my behalf without even consulting me. Do you ever stop to think about how I feel?"
"(Y/N), I--it's for your own protection--"
"Damn my protection, Dean! And damn you!" she yelled. "You don't get to decide for me. You don't get to determine my life path! You don't wanna be with me, then that's your prerogative, but don't you dare make that decision for me. I chose this life with eyes wide open. I knew the dangers, I knew the risks, and I chose it anyway. I chose you, Dean Winchester, knowing everything that comes along with that."
I starred at her in stunned silence--I'd never seen her this angry before.
Tears streamed down her face as she continued. "I have loved every moment of our life together--the good and the bad. I wouldn't choose anything else, certainly not a 'normal' life. I love hunting monsters with you. I love saving people with you. I love traveling the country with you. I love living in shitty, dingy motels with you. I love getting into fights, coming home bruised and bleeding, battling our way through everything that comes our way. Do you know why? Because I'm with you--because I love you. So don't you dare take my memories from me, Dean Winchester. They are not yours to take."
I stood up and crossed the room with surprising speed. I wrapped her up in my arms, holding her tightly to my chest. She leaned into me, ignoring the pain her body was in. I kissed her on top of her head and held her for a long time before she finally pulled away from me.
"I just want to protect you," I whispered.
"I know, Dean...but the safest place for me will always be right beside you. There's no place else I'd rather be."
I touched her face and closed my eyes, just feeling her warmth emanate from within. I knew I couldn't live without her--at least not happily...I needed her more than I ever cared to admit. I wanted to protect her--to keep her safe, but maybe she was right. Maybe the safest place for her was in my arms. I would die to protect her--I would kill to protect her. Who else would be willing to do that?
"I love you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), and I'm sorry."
She smiled up at me. "I love you too, Dean...and I know you are. Just don't try that shit again."
I chuckled lightly and leaned down to kiss her. Part of me hated admitting she was right, but I knew from that moment on, I would never let her go. Never.

Hey! Long time no see, i know i said id send you a fantasy i thought you'd like but now ive forgotten almost all of it, oop!
Life happened, and uh, i saw that you mentioned your libido being a bit low, which definitely is my case too (im recovering from depression, now that im okay id love to get my FULL libido back, or at least a good percentage of it) do you have any tips on that?
Also any recs of blogs writing in the same vibe as you? (same-ish kinks would be nice but im specifically looking for queer inclusive stuff!) it makes me 10x hornier than the regular video/photo porn!
Hope you're well, you pathetic little thing!
💫
hi friend!! ugh i feel you. sorry i haven't got any advice on regaining ur libido...we just let mine wax and wane as it will, though denial has been a big help in keeping it steady!
i've heard good things abt ginseng and some other herbs. obvs use at your own risk, mind that some herbal treatments can cross-interact with certain medications, remember that pre-packaged supplement pills are often unregulated and may contain toxins, and be aware that some herbal remedies work better on pw certain anatomy than others, and finally that many herbal remedies considered to increase libido are largely untested on trans folx!
finally, sorry it's taken so long to answer this ask...i'm autistic and have been cataloguing lol. i present to you a list of other blog recs under the cut, organized by general vibe! i've tried to primarily include blogs that do their own posts rather than those who primarily reblog :)
note that my headings may provide some context as to what to expect, but you read at your own risk and each blog will typically have its own trigger warnings addressed in the header/pinned. additionally, i've not tagged some of the ppl below because they prefer that "Men DNI" blogs not interact, and idk if "no cis men" qualifies ahah!
all blogs below are queer- and/or trans-inclusive, if not exclusive! there is no detrans/misgendering, at least I don't think - i don't tend to follow those blogs.
hard kinks (blood, knives, etc; includes primarily-cnc blogs):
@puppy-mommy , who also does general t4t kink content, but does state untagged hard kinks!
@visciousest is someone whose blog i scroll when i'm in a Certain Mood ahah,, i won't elaborate
@hell-hound-bites: just. fuck. would drool on his knife blade.
@snuff-fag: its username should give you fair warning as to how wild its content tends to get, so please browse responsibly.
@condor-bait is taking a break right now, and all my love is with him as he takes care of himself. he made me feel so valid and so fuckable as a young trans person learning to love myself in a new way, and i've always been too shy to tell him how much his content meant to me one-on-one (yes, despite its often-extreme themes!), and he deserves as much time as he needs to heal!
@unwillingfvckpuppy for mostly cnc and medical kinks! if you like his style, but not so much their harder content, he also has a more-tame main blog--i just mainly follow/scroll this one!
@vampvictim: top-tier cnc/intox stuff, plus some great knife/bloodplay :)
@cryptidtid is wonderful and holy shit i follow a lot of hard kink blogs lol. incredible
@cnc-pet: i have been following her for a long ass fucking time lol. they post a lot of really good cnc and stories, but you'll also find a lot of aftercare tips and advice on her blog! i really admire blogs who try to balance horny content with best practices
@dollobotomy
general kinky content:
@excessively-queer . just plain old good shit :) there's a good amt of edging and degradation.
@clouded-king was honestly one of my earlier introductions to the queer/t4t kink community on here and how fucking euphoric it can be :) he posts some hard kinks, but generally it's a balance of a lot of different kinks so read his pinned at your leisure!
@ / cottontailx : just good kinky nsft posts :)
@ / digitalpenetration: often specifically t4t which i love!!
@femmelovefemme can step on me :)
@bigothteddies: could not build this section w/o mentioning him :) they had a big influence on my fantasies for a long time!
@hazelj-xoxo: bigtime want her to cuck me. have followed her across multiple blog deletions lol
@transpidered is forever an icon!
@subspaceemo
@writefinch for great stories and text posts
edging and denial, specifically:
@6irlpet is 1 of my go-to hands-down-pants scroll sessions :)
@droolkink is my inspiration!
@flustersluts does exactly what the name implies lol. a good helping of other kink content too :)
@puppycvnt is a 10/10!
@barkwoofbarkwoofbark: we r denial friends imo!!
@strawbrrysub
@blyssful-abyss
@urhighnessbitch is a big fav <3
non-detrans genderplay:
@butchviolence does amazing butch supremacy stuff and i,,, fucking hell. even just seeing their username puts me in a Particular state of mind ahah. they also post hard kinks so be aware as you proceed!
@mtfdomme: i literally just reblogged from her today lol. tbh i want to be their little stupid pupthing. it's not all transfem supremacy undertones/overtones, but that's what i mainly follow her for, plus just general t4t goodness! also, their general personality? and the way she shuts down people who disrespect their boundaries? huge inspiration for me!
@cuntboydestroyer: take me to the animal shelter and neuter me. good lord.
@the-kind-of-dame is the main inspiration for my recent genderplay post lol
@terfbreaking-tgirl (be warned of dykebreaking if that's an issue for you)
@barbarian-lesbian is my other inspiration for the recent genderplay post
@superiorineveryway
weird asf (/complimentary; my favorite type of shit. robots, ND-focused posts, etc):
@specksizedgoddess has introduced me to things i didn't know, like...existed, and that's saying a lot as one of my special interests is kink! never knew how down bad i was to be a tiny buggirl, nor how much i wanted to be someone's stupid little robot... BIG tw tho: there is snuff and gore content here, so proceed with caution if you don't wanna see that!
@sapphling fucked me up real good with some bird!sub bondage posts awhile back lol
@nobelisha: found them through their ghost cnc post so that's why they're in this category ahah! they don't have a pinned so proceed w awareness :)
@devout-cleric: hierophilia/religion kink, and i'm something of an acolyte of hers :) if you've read this far down you may as well know i'm her Little Lamb anon lol
piss/omo:
@latenightomo
@pissheartmybeloved - their URL makes me crack up every time, plus good content!
@hold-it-a-little-longer - good scenarios/imagines!
@ohmyrashi - (i think) my original intro to omo!
monsterfucking/terato:
@septimus-moonlight was my first real introduction to trans-positive terato and i've never settled for half-fun cis-oriented terato ever since :) mind tags!
@eggedbellies as well!
@bredpun doesn't appear to be active lately but still good for a scroll!
@steamandcream
@of-mutts-and-men

Tumblr media
In the Beginning
When you first began working with criminals, you never expected your life to be threatened. Sure, there were risks of taking a job like this, but all you were asked to do was to determine whether or not a person was classified as fit to go to trial. That meant oftentimes you had to postpone hearings and trials due to a person's mental capacity.
You understood how upsetting it could be and you understood why people would blame you for justice not being brought forward. It was easy to empathize with those people, but it didn't mean your life needed to be in danger.
The first night your life was threatened you were just getting home from a grueling day in the office. Your feet ached and your stomach grumbled. Upon your arrival home you found a note taped to your front door. You tilted your head inspecting the letter before you ripped it off the door. Bile rose in your throat as you read the letter.
I will kill you for what you've done
The note was scribbled haphazardly and hardly legible, but you were well aware of what it said. Never in your four years of working had you needed to go to the cops. People you'd worked with time and time again.
The Los Angeles Police Department was unhelpful when it came to answering your pleas. It wasn't until you went to your childhood friend Jim Street that you were finally heard.
You hadn't seen Jim in over 3 years. After he left for swat the two of you hadn't had much time to get together anymore. You spoke occasionally, but had no time to really see each other anymore.
When you showed up at his door he was surprised to see you. The greeting was cut short, you were rushed and scared. As you explained everything to Jim, Luca, Jim's roommate and coworker listened carefully. He was actively trying to think of a way to get you helped out.
"What about Deac's security business?" He piped in.
The two of them looked at one another.
They spoke briefly to one another about their old coworker. Explaining to you how Deacon departed from SWAT and took up doing security details full time. You nodded as you listened to them. It wasn't a bad idea, but you didn't know how long it would be before something would take place.
As if they heard you in your head they had already made the phone call. Luca spoke briefly with someone on the phone, you assumed it was Deacon. Jim smiled softly at you, trying his best to give you some kind of comfort.
You stayed with Jim and Luca while you waited for Deacon to arrive. You felt safe with them and you took advantage of the opportunity to rest. With eyes closed you lulled to sleep for the first time in days.
Your slumber was rudely interrupted by a warm hand on your shoulder. The action made you jump, and your eyes searched for the culprit. Jim smiled at you sheepishly, apologizing with his eyes more so than with words.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He told you.
"It's okay, just, jumpy is all." He nodded his head in understanding.
"He's here." Jim stated.
You got up and followed Jim out of the den and back into the living room. Luca talked to another man, you assumed it was Deacon.
Luca turned when he saw you come into the room. His face lit up, he had already accepted you as one of his people.
"Hey Deac, this is her." He patted the man on the shoulder and he turned to face you and Jim.
You hadn't paid him much attention before he turned, but you were shocked to say the least. He was a surprisingly handsome man, and it made your heart pound in your chest.
In the few seconds before Luca introduced the two of you, you allowed your eyes to trace over him. The hair on his head was mostly gray aside from the occasional dark strand here and there, his beard joined in the majority of gray. The black t-shirt he wore hid no ounce of his muscled form. You wondered if he wore a shirt two sizes too small on purpose.
A clearing of a throat disturbed your thoughts. You blinked rapidly and pulled your eyes away from Deacon. Luca introduced the two of you and you shook Deacon's hand. Heat creeped up your neck as he stared down at you, with a soft smile.
The smile slowly faded and he crossed his arms over his chest becoming serious.
"Luca tells me you need some protection? Care to explain the story to me a little bit?" He asked.
You nodded, and took a seat on Luca and Jim's couch. You explained the story to him as thoroughly as you could. Jim grabbed your shoulder in comfort a couple of times when the emotions overwhelmed you.
"This isn't the usual detail my team and I take on, but you're a friend of a friend. I'll make sure you're safe. I'll work on this personally." He nodded to you and to Jim.
Tears welled in your eyes.
"Thank you Deacon." He smiled and nodded again.
"Of course. Now, first things first. You need a safe house of some sort while I work with my team to track down the people after you. Is there somewhere you can think of that won't be public knowledge?" He asked you.
You thought about it for a moment before you nodded.
"I do.”
Present
The cabin air was frigid as you made your way back inside. Placing the firewood in its rightful place you take a piece and set it on the fire. Rubbing your hands together you enjoy the warmth seeping into your skin. A car pulling into the driveway draws your attention away from the fire.
Getting up you make your way to the window on high alert. Your guard falls when you spot Deacon getting out of his car. You watch as he scans the area before coming to the front door. He knocks twice on the door and you go over to it to open it.
When he enters he hands you the bag in his hand.
"What's this?" You ask.
Deacon smiles softly, "Dessert." He states and you peer inside.
Your smile widens upon seeing apple pie and vanilla ice cream in the bag.
"Damn, Deacon, I'm surprised you got something so unhealthy." You laugh.
He shakes his head, "I eat ice cream."
"Doesn't look like it." You mutter to yourself.
"What did you say?" He asks.
"Nothing. Ignore me." You shake your head.
Taking the bag into the kitchen you unload everything into the freezer.  You notice dishes still left over from this morning in the sink and go over to wash them. Under the running water your thoughts drift over the past 2 months.
It felt like nothing was happening. You felt stuck, and frozen. Like a prisoner with nowhere else to go. This was meant to be for your own protection, but being stuck in your family's old cabin in the woods was driving you to madness. Plus, being stuck here with Deacon, alone for all hours of the day was testing every amount of strength and willpower you have. Which was just about none when it came to the older man.
Since the beginning of month 2 things have felt different between the two of you. In month one Deacon wouldn't even sit on the same couch as you. He always sat in the chair furthest from you at the small table in the dining room, and he never looked at you for a moment more than necessary.
Now, something was different.
He sits next to you on the couch and actually joins you when you watch tv. Now, he doesn't hide his lingering gaze, nor does he sit in the chair furthest from you when you eat. The subtle changes in his behavior drove you mad.
From the very beginning you were heavily attracted to him. Now, even more so.
"Hey," Deacon's voice draws you from your thoughts.
"You okay?" He asks. Coming forward and leaning against the counter.
Your eyes are drawn to the way his arms bulge as he crosses his arms over his chest. You gulp and look away.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
He chuckles and leans forward, your breath catches in your throat as you look up at him. He switches the water off and leans back against the counter. You let out a breath and close your eyes.
"You were washing the same dish for 10 minutes. Obviously something is wrong." He states.
"10 minutes?" You ask and he nods.
You let out a deep sigh and grip the edge of the sink. Tears well in your eyes and you decide not to hold them back any longer. You let yourself cry and put your head in your hands as you lean on the sink. Deacon touches your back and you allow yourself to lean into it. He rubs soothing circles on your back and allows you to cry.
After a while you sniffle and wipe your face.
"I'm sorry." You wipe at your eyes and look over at him.
His smile is sad as he looks at you. Deacon swipes a stray tear from your cheeks and cups your face in his hand. He leans in as if he's going to kiss you but, then the moment is broken when something clicks in his head and he pulls away clearing his throat.
"Don't be sorry. I'm gonna go contact my team. See if there's any updates." With that he exits the kitchen.
Fuck. You think to yourself.
For the rest of the day Deacon avoided you like the plague. It made you feel even worse than you already did. Loneliness pangs in your chest as you sit on the couch and aimlessly scroll through the channels.
Deacon busts into the room and you jump.
"We have to go now." He states, throwing your jacket at you.
Jumping to your feet you throw the jacket on and follow Deacon to the back of the cabin. You grip his jacket tightly in your hand trying to stay close to him. He turns and looks at you, pressing one of his fingers to his lips.
He opens the door quietly and inches out slowly. Deacon grasps your hand in his and drags you out into the woods. The two of you run for a while before he stops.
"You see that ridge up there?" He asks pointing.
"Yes," You pause looking at him.
"Go. Get up there and hide. Don't come out until I come get you." He instructs.
You grip his arm. "Deacon, what if you don't come back?"
He grips his phone in his back pocket and places it in your hands.
"Call, Street. Tell him where we are. Tell him to send the team." He states.
You nod, with tear filled eyes, and trembling lips. Releasing his hand you take off up the hill and hide. Pulling Deacons phone out of your pocket you dial Jim.
"Hey Deac,"
"Jim, it's me. Deacon told me to tell you to send the team. Hurry Jim. I'm scared." You sob.
"Where are you?" He rushes out.
"Near the Oregon border." You stutter out.
"Keep the line open, we're tracking Deac's phone." You nod, but he can't see you.
Gunshots could be heard in the distance. Tears fall freely now, rolling down your cheeks.
"Got it, we're on the way. Stay hidden." He urges and the line goes dead.
You pull your knees as close to your body as you can trying to hide away in the dark nook. The gunshots fade in the distance and your heart races faster. Every part of you wants to run and see if Deacon was okay, but you listened and stayed put.
After what felt like forever a helicopter could be heard overhead. Staying in your hiding spot you close your eyes and hope they make it to you soon. You were freezing.
After a few more minutes you could hear voices and footsteps. Some shouting out how many people were dead, others asking where Deacon was. You heard Jim's voice in the distance calling for you. Now you got up from your hiding spot and went tumbling down the hill. You ran as fast as you could back in the direction of the cabin.
"Jim!" You yell his name when you finally see him.
He comes running towards you and you slam into him. Hugging him tightly, tears once again falling freely. His hand goes to the back of your head as he holds you close.
When you pull away you search his eyes seeing if they hold anything.
"Where's Deacon?" You ask.
There it was. Jim averts his eyes from you for a brief moment. Something the normal eye would never pick up. You grip his arm tightly.
"Jim please, tell me." You beg.
"He's alive, but he's been shot. Plus some other injuries. He wasn't conscious when we wheeled him out of here." He tells you truthfully.
Your shoulders sag. "Is he going to be okay?" You ask.
"We don't know yet. Come on, let's get you out of here." Jim wraps his arm around you.
"But, it's not safe." You stop.
"It is now. Has he not told you?" Jim asks.
You tilt your head. "What do you mean?"
"Deacon, and his team were able to locate the men who threatened your life. He had me, Hondo and the rest of the team go in and take them down." He pauses for a moment.
"Some got away. They had found your location and we couldn't get to them before they left. We were just barely able to warn Deacon before they showed up." He finishes.
You haven't cried this much since your childhood pet died when you were 16. A part of you died that day with him. Now, here you were crying over a man you may never get to see again because he too might be dead.
Jim leads you to the helicopter and helps you get in the seat before doing so himself. You watch the land below get smaller and darker the higher into the air you go. Jim grabs your hand and squeezes it for a moment. You know it was him trying to comfort you. Jim had never been good at that.
Being able to go back to your home felt wrong. It was crazy to think that two months living in the unknown would change your entire view on your life. You desperately want to go to the hospital to see Deacon. Make sure he's okay for yourself, or see for yourself he's not okay.
Jim agrees to take you to the hospital. Upon arrival you notice how many people were there for Deacon. He was held in high regard amongst his former teammates. It was a sight to see.
Someone calls your name and you look in the direction of the voice. The man you knew as Hondo approaches you.
"We've heard a lot about you. It's nice to finally meet you." He tells you with a genuine smile.
You nod, unable to form words of any kind. Your throat was sore and scratchy. Making it feel impossible to speak at the moment. You need water. Once again reading your mind, Jim appears with a bottle of water in hand. You smile thankfully at him.
"Thanks." You croak out.
You find a seat and wait with the rest of the people in the waiting room. The hours tick by as all of you wait for an update on Deacon.
Three hours after you get to the hospital a doctor comes out of the OR doors. Everyone stands, and the doctor's eyes widen.
"Are all of you here for Mr. Kay?" He asks.
Everyone nods. The doctor takes his glasses off and wipes them before adjusting them to his face once more.
"He's going to be fine. Recovery will suck, but he will recover. Gunshot wound, cracked ribs, fractured arm, the list goes on. It's a good thing he has all of you." He nods.
"Can we see him?" Your quiet voice pokes through the crowd.
"It's after visiting hours, but I can allow one of you back." He states.
You expect someone to go back and see him, but when no one does you step forward. Jim nods at you. You found it odd the people who have known Deacon the longest would allow someone who's only known him for two months be with him while in this position.
The doctor nods and gestures for you to follow him. He leads you down the hall of hospital rooms and stops when he reaches Deacon's door.
"I'll have them bring in some blankets and pillows. If you don't plan to stay, let me know." He states.
"No, I'm staying." He nods and leaves.
You examine the small hospital room. The monitor beeps to the rhythm of Deacon's heart. This is the first time you've seen him in over 5 hours. You weren't sure if you ever would.
Taking him in you frown at the sight of him. A bandage on his left cheekbone, busted lip, a splint on his right arm. He was a mess, all because he was protecting you.
You pull the chair over to him and sit down beside him.
"Damn you, Deacon." You whisper.
You grab his open hand into your own, looping your thumb around his. He didn't close his hand around yours, but that didn't matter. Feeling his pulse thump in his wrist was enough. You lean your head down and place it on the bed, closing your eyes. Allowing yourself to take in his warmth. Meaning he was very much alive.
A nurse enters the room and gives you a soft smile before setting up the small bed in the corner of the room. You silently thank her. Your eyes snap to Deacon when you feel his fingers wrap about your hand.
His eyes are just barely open as he looks at you.
"I'm sorry." He croaks out.
"Sorry? Why are you sorry." You raise your eyebrows at him.
"Scaring you."
"Deac, you saved my life. You have nothing to apologize for. I'm the one who needs to apologize. I'm the reason you almost died." You grip his hand tighter.
He laughs, then groans in pain.
"It was my job sweetheart. You don't have to apologize either." He reassures you.
"I guess we both need to stop apologizing." You laugh out.
"I guess so." He gives a small smile.
You rub his arm softly and he watches you do so.
"You should get some rest." You tell him as you stand up.
He watches as you lean over and press a kiss to his cheek. Your breath catches in your throat as you linger a moment longer contemplating things in your head. His beard scratches your cheek as you loop your arm around his neck in an awkward hug.
"I'll be right here if you need me." You tell him.
He nods. Flicking the light in the hospital room off you make your way to the small bed in the corner and try to sleep.
"Goodnight Deac."
"Goodnight Sweetheart.”

The Freak and The Princess (I)
Summary: Eddie lets you walk by during his rant in the cafeteria, stumped by your quietness and manners toward the town freak. He then decides to be the perfect gentlemen. [Part 1 of 5 depending on if anyone actually reads it.] 2k+ Words
Warnings: none! Just more fluff than a Pomeranian. There is also a very good chance Eddie is OOC but Imma risk it (if you get that reference, we should be friends).
A/N: (I'm terrified to do this.) This is the first thing that I've ever posted so constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated! I've been writing stories like this for years but have been too scared to post them for a variety of reasons, but I love writing and reading so if one person can get a little joy from this, then my goal is reached. I edited this and proofread it, but please point out any errors or things that you like! And please send requests; all the characters I write for are under my tag #characters! Hope you enjoy! :)
The Freak and The Princess
Part One: My Princess
Being as quiet as I am has its pros and cons.
Pros: I don’t get noticed often, can easily observe everything around me, and can escape my real life whenever I want.
Cons: when I do get noticed, it gets real.
I’ve lived in Hawkins since eighth grade. Now I’m a senior. I don’t have any consistent friends, although Steve Harrington came to be someone I knew I could trust and talk to after dealing with the Russians side by side last year. The only person I noticed for myself was Eddie Munson. He was a big, bad high schooler when I moved here, and I guess that hasn’t changed. Since he’s two years older than me, we’ve never talked or met, but I know who he is, and he’s one of the few people who can make me smile without even realizing I’m there.
I was walking through the cafeteria, trying to get outside away from all the noise and people, when I heard a voice I’d recognize anywhere say, “But as long as you’re into band, or... science. Or parties. Or A GAME WHERE YOU TOSS BALLS INTO LAUNDRY BASKETS!!”
I watched as he walked down the Hellfire lunch table, stopping at the end and responding to Jason’s comment with fake devil horns. He continued talking, jumping off the table and finishing. He stepped back, motioning for me and another girl ahead of me to walk by him.
“Thanks,” I whispered, smiling as I met his eye. I felt his eyes on me as I walked by, and I decided he was trying to figure out who I was. I waited in an empty classroom until most people cleared out before walking to my locker and gathering my things.
“Hey,” someone said beside me. I jumped slightly before turning to see Eddie leaning against the lockers and looking at me.
“Hi, Eddie,” I said quietly.
“You know my name?”
“Who doesn’t?”
“Man, now I feel bad. Let me guess?”
I laughed lightly and nodded, closing my locker and picking up my bag.
“Marcie? No, that doesn’t fit. Kelsey? Too cheerleader-y. Princess?”
“That your final guess?” I smiled. He nodded, a proud look on his face. My watch beeped, and I pressed it to silence it.
“That’s my cue. See you around, Eddie!” I said, walking out the door.
“See ya, princess!” he called. I blushed, glad to have my back to him. The next day I went to school as usual; until lunch. I walked into the cafeteria, on my way through as always, when I felt someone walk up beside me.
“Hey, so I haven’t seen you around before and wanted to introduce myself. I’m Jason Carver.”
I kept walking, not talking to him. “What, I can’t even get a name? Pretty girl like you has to have a pretty name!” I was at the door when he grabbed my wrist, “Look, I get that you’re shy. All I’m asking for is a name, beautiful.”
He was surprisingly cordial, but I knew there had to be a catch.
I thought quickly, deciding to say, “Arwen.”
I pulled my hand from him and rushed outside. After my last class, I walked to my locker, hoping to see Eddie again, but soon my watch beeped, and I headed to work.
“Hey, kiddo, how was school?” Steve asked as I walked into Family Video and pulled my vest on. I shrugged and started stocking tapes. I heard the door open then close before Steve spoke to me again. “Something happen?” I shook my head no. “I’m gonna go check on Robin. I’ll be right back,” he said, moving past me quietly.
“Princess?” I heard from the other end of the aisle.
I looked over to see Eddie with two tapes in his hand. I smiled at him and quietly said, “Hi.”
“Fancy meeting you here. Should'a known The Hair got to you,” he smiled, standing closer to me.
“Take it easy, Munson,” Steve warned as he returned to the counter.
Eddie rolled his eyes, causing me to laugh lightly. His smile widened, and he held two movies from the new release pile. “Which one?” I gestured to The Goonies, watching as he nodded and slid the other back where he’d pulled it from.
“Didn’t see you at lunch today. You race through the cafeteria again?”
“Munson, leave her-“ Steve started before stopping when he heard me talking.
“Got corned by Carver and had to make a run for it,” I answered.
Steve jumped the counter, pointing at me as he rounded the corner into the aisle. “Did you just answer him?” Eddie and I nodded, Steve’s jaw dropping further. “How long have you two known each other?”
“Uh,” Eddie looked at his watch, “thirty-six hours.”
“And you’re already talking to him?” Steve asked incredulously. I shrugged in response, continuing what I was doing.
“She talk to you?” Eddie asked Steve.
“Yeah, but it took her a lot longer to start.”
“I just have a welcoming and calming persona.” I laughed, shaking my head. Eddie walked past me to check out the movie, still bickering with Steve. He turned to me as he walked out, waving.
“Let me know what you think,” I said, pointing to the tape with my chin.
“Absolutely. See you tomorrow, princess.”
“Did Eddie 'The Freak' Munson just call you ‘princess’?”
“Yeah. He didn’t know my name, so he started calling me that.”
“Why didn’t you tell him your name?”
“Couldn’t. I don’t mind though.” I fell silent again, ignoring Steve’s questions and comments. I went home a few hours later, finishing my homework and hoping to see Eddie again tomorrow.
~
I exited my fourth-period class, ready to sit by myself for lunch. I walked into the cafeteria, taking a new route the other way around to avoid Jason. I ended up closer to the Hellfire table, smiling as I saw Eddie in a heated conversation with the boys.
“Hey, beautiful,” Jason said, slinging an arm around my shoulders as he came up behind me.
I was too far from the door and knew I couldn’t speak more than a few words. I only had one choice. I shrugged his arm off me and made a beeline for the Hellfire Table. There was an open seat by Eddie, so I slid into it, looking at him as they all silenced, staring at me. I flitted my eyes toward Jason, who glared at me and Eddie. I was shrinking into myself, wanting the floor to swallow me, when I felt Eddie grab my hand, his thumb rubbing the back.
“Guys, this is my princess. Princess, these are the guys,” he said. Then leaned in and whispered, “I won’t let anything happen to you, ‘kay?”
I nodded, squeezing his hand slightly. Jason stormed off, and I breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t move to leave, choosing instead to silently listen to the guys talk about their new Hellfire campaign as I played with Eddie’s rings. Walking out of my last class, I saw someone leaning against the locker beside mine.
“Thanks for the help at lunch,” I said, walking by him and opening my locker.
“Anytime, princess. You working today?”
“No, I’m off the rest of the week. Scheduling error by my idiot boss, Keith.”
Eddie nodded. We both looked out the window when a loud crack of thunder sounded, and rain started pouring down.
“You have a ride?” Eddie asked, pushing off the locker as I closed mine.
“No, but I don’t live far.”
“Absolutely not. I’ll give you a ride.” He slipped his jacket off and laid it over my shoulders.
“Eddie, you don’t have to. It’s completely fine. I’ve walked home in the rain before.”
“A princess should never walk home. Let alone in the rain. As long as I’m here, it won’t happen again.” He extended his hand, “Milady.”
I placed my hand in his, our fingers interlacing as I said, “Why thank you, kind sir.” We ran to his van, and I gave him directions to my house. “See you tomorrow?” I asked, beginning to take his jacket off as he parked in my driveway.
“Of course. Keep the jacket, you still have to walk in.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I can pick you up in the morning if it’s still raining like the forecast said.”
“I’d really like that. Thanks for the ride, Eddie.”
“A pleasure, princess.”
I ran to my front porch, shaking the rain off and unlocking my front door. I waved to Eddie as he backed out, then went into the empty house. There was one more day, then solitude. At least I had Eddie and Steve to make the days more tolerable.
~
Eddie kept his promise, pulling up in front of my house as I stepped outside. I moved to return his jacket, but he shook his head, “That’s yours until it stops raining.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yep. Have to keep my princess dry and warm.”
‘My princess.’ His princess.
We walked into school together before going our separate ways for classes. I walked into the lunchroom, setting my sights on the Hellfire table. I was just a few steps away when Jason stopped me, standing between me and the table.
“You have a lot of nerve ignoring me,” he said loudly. I saw Eddie pick his head up and look over, making eye contact with me over Jason’s shoulder. He stood up but didn’t move toward me, waiting.
“You gonna say anything? Can you even talk, Arwen?” I heard a few laughs before Jason continued, “What? Did The Freak sell your soul and your tongue to the devil?” I clenched my jaw, starting to see red. “Just a matter of time until he sacrifices you. Or worse,” he whispered. He backed up with an evil grin. Now everything was red.
“How do you know he hasn’t sacrificed your soul? Oh, that’s right, your head is so far up your butt you’d notice the extra room,” I responded quickly.
The whole cafeteria broke out into yells and clapping.
“What’d you just say to me?”
“I said to get your ears checked. Your ego seems to be clogging everything up.”
“Who do you think you are?”
“Not half the person you think you are.”
“If you want attention, baby, just come out and say it.”
I saw Eddie step toward us but gently shook my head, stopping him.
“Maybe I do want attention. But I promise I don’t want yours. So, if you’d be so kind as to move out of my way, I’d appreciate it.” He took a single step to the side. “Oh, and if you so much as look at me or any other member of Hellfire again, I will shove my foot up your butt until your heart stops. Got it?”
Jason nodded and rushed out of the room, everyone cheering again as I walked toward Eddie and grabbed his hand. He nodded, following me to an empty classroom.
“Why did I do that?” I groaned as I sat down, burying my face in my hands.
“Because you’re amazing.”
“Now people know who I am, and they’ll talk to me.”
“I’ll become your personal bodyguard. Nobody will be able to talk to my princess.”
The bell rang, and we reluctantly returned to classes, meeting by my locker at the end of the day.
“Let’s drop by Hellfire real quick.” We entered the room, and he dug through a box before pulling something out and turning around, unfurling one of the signature Hellfire Club t-shirts. “This should fit. You called yourself a member at lunch and we have a very strict policy regarding verbal agreements.”
“Oh, of course,” I smiled and slid it over my other shirt.
We stopped by Family Video to return Eddie’s tape, Steve’s eyes widening as we walked in together, asking, “What’s happening here?”
“Someone stuck it to Carver today, in front of the whole school,” Eddie smiled.
“Good job, babe,” Steve said as he began returning the movie, “How ya feelin'?”
“I’m ok,” I shrugged, “hoping this doesn’t lead to people trying to talk to me.”
“Well, keep hanging with this freak and it won’t be a problem.” Steve smirked at Eddie.
“Whatever, Hair.” Eddie playfully rolled his eyes. “Let’s go, princess.” He wrapped his arm around me, and I waved to Steve before walking toward the door.
“Take care of my girl,” Steve yelled.
“I’ll take care of MY princess,” Eddie yelled as the door closed.

Hi there! Just came across this blog, and I must say you do some great work!
Okay, ever since I first heard of Pokémon as a kid back in the 90's, I've desperately dreamed of having my favourite Pokémon, Haunter, as my beloved companion. So I'm fairly interested in hearing how you'd rank a Haunter, the very best ghostly boy ever, as a pet :) I know he comes with some potential health risks to an owner or trainer, but listen, I'm willing to risk an odd paralysis here and there if it means I'll finally get to have a Haunter as my sidekick! <3
Tumblr media
[Thank you so much!]
Well…uh… I really wouldn’t recommend it, but I know I’m not stopping it. I know there’s a lot of trainers out there who use haunters in battle but I’ll be honest: those people are like, recklessly bold. I’m afraid keeping a haunter comes with more of a risk than just paralysis. But I’m getting ahead of myself: let’s get into it.
Space is a non-issue for haunters. While at five-feet tall these pokémon are pretty large, they are nearly weightless and can pass through solid surfaces, like walls, with ease (Red/Blue). This is both good and bad: on one hand it means that they can fit in any home. On the other, it means that they could come and go from your home whenever they want to, and there’s nothing you can do about it. That could be a problem, as we’ll get into later, but it does save haunter from a lower rank than an F. If you want to adopt a haunter, you’ll need to keep your home pretty dark at all hours of the day. Wild haunters spend all of their time in the shadows, out of what seems to be both a preference and a necessity for survival: in well-lit cities, they are said to be going extinct (Gold, Moon)!
Ok, let’s get into the real issue here: haunters kill people. They are known to stalk and ambush any living things who pass by them alone and in the dark (especially those in a gloomy mood), licking them with their gaseous tongues to “sap their life away” (Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ultra Moon). If you are licked by a haunter, you will face a long, painful death: you will be racked by constant shaking until you die (Yellow, Silver). Now, it’s unclear if haunters need to do this in order to survive, but they do it often enough that the pokédex gives a firm warning to never approach this pokémon, even if they are acting friendly (Ruby/Sapphire). Let’s say, just as a hypothetical, your haunter decides that they like you enough to not kill you. That’s great! But, like I said earlier, you have no means of restraining you haunter to your house. They could go off and steal the lives of whoever they want! At the very least, keeping a haunter as a house pet would require extensive training.
Their notorious lick isn’t the only means that haunters have to menace humans: they have access to dangerous ghost-type moves like Curse, which saps your HP over time until you fall unconscious, or Night Shade, which hurts you depending on your level. If you’re an adult human, you probably have a pretty high level. They also can use staples like Shadow Punch, Lick (of course), Hex, and Shadow Ball, all of which present a threat. Given that haunters appear to be pretty malevolent beings, an attack is certainly not out of the question. Unless you are well-trained in taking care of ghost-type pokémon, your survival chances when attacked by a haunter are startlingly low.
There aren’t many pokémon that I’ve covered so far that actively hunt and kill humans as a part of their natural behavior. I know there’s people out there, probably experts, who could maybe handle a haunter as a house pet, but they really take their lives (and their neighbors’) into their own hands every day. I can’t, in good conscience, suggest a haunter as a pet, sadly.

Title: I Don't Bite [Part Eight]
Ship: Female!Reader x Vampire!Kate Bishop
Wordcount: 2297
Warnings: Mentions of sex, blood, Tony Stark, and horrible grammar.
[A/n: I straight up hate this, but I've written myself into a bit of a corner and think that you guys deserve an ending to this one soon, so here's an update! I do have more ideas for Vampire Kate just not... this]
Read from the Start | Read my stuff on AO3 | Leave Requests
There was a staleness to your home after three days of being abandoned. The sun was filtering through rolling dark clouds, a coldness filling your bones. The place you’d resided in for the last year didn’t feel like yours anymore.  A smudge of dark brown blood against the doorframe to the bathroom was the only trace that Kate had ever stepped foot here.
Her car wasn’t in the driveway. Your fingers trembled as you struggled to open the door. Bobbi and Jemma’s home was eerily quiet, as if it had been abandoned long ago. The lights leading up to the front door were the only sign of life. Your heart was pounding in your throat by the time your back pressed against the inside of your door.
It may have been foolish to return here, but you simply had nowhere else to go. The worry you held for a woman that you had spent a single night in a dingy hotel room with, was alarming, if not understandable. You were willing to risk your job for her safety and risk your life for the same.
You pulled a mug from your kitchen cabinet and filled it with lukewarm water, gulping it down without regard for the moisture that soaked into the collar of your shirt- Kate’s shirt- that you were reluctant to take off despite it being wrinkled with wear.
“You have no survival instincts, do you?”
The voice startled you, water sputtering from your lips. You coughed at the unfamiliar feeling of drowning is the most trivial regard. Your intuition kicked in, finally, and you grasped the largest knife from the butcher block by the sink. You held it between you and Jemma, her eyebrow raised.
“What do you intend to do with that thing? Stab me?”
“If I have to, yes.”
She was leaning back in one of your kitchen chairs, her legs crossed with an elegance that always accompanied her. For a moment, you considered asking how she got in, but it would be easy for a SHIELD agent to do so, and you decided not to waste your breath. Despite yourself, you were in awe of the still and calm nature she exuded.
“Y/n, we both know you don’t have it in you.” She stood and walked to the side of the counter, all the while, your grip tightened on the steak knife, the tip twisting in the air. “Maybe you do. I keep telling Bobbi not to underestimate the power of infatuation.”
“Are you even a biochemist, or was that a lie too?”
“Oh no, I’m quite gifted in the field. I’m a woman of science, and so is Bobbi. It’s why they put the two of us here in the first place, to understand Kate. What she is and what her intentions are.” There was a hint of honesty to her voice that you were inclined to believe. “SHIELD’s job is to minimize civilian involvement in the unknown. Neither of us wanted to see you get involved.”
Your arm was starting to ache, the knife between the two of you faltering before you regained your grip, steeling yourself. A laugh threatened to bubble from your chest. This was all ridiculous. There was a spy in your kitchen hunting a vampire. Just last month you wouldn’t’ dream of holding a blade between yourself and Jemma.
She was packing though, and the gesture made you feel just a tick better than if you were empty handed. “Civilian involvement, Jemma, I’ve heard all about Tony Starks ties to you. SHIELD is all over his documents, it practically bleeds ignorance.”
Jemma drummed her fingers against the granite of the counter, letting out a heavy sigh. Her eyes flicked to the front door, and then the glass of the back. She had an eye on all of her exits, and that made a deep seed of worry settle in the pit of your stomach.
“We’re not the bad guys here, Y/n. You’ve worked for Tony and Pepper for what? Ten years now? That must build some type of trust. Stark may be daft sometimes, but he doesn’t’ back ideas he doesn’t believe in. You know that.”
You did know that. Though you had started out fetching coffee for Pepper, you’d soon climb the ranks from an intern to a personal assistant that was not only privy to the companies’ deepest secrets, but the sharpest decisions. Tony, despite his peacocking, was a good guy that you’d put your confidence in.
“Bobbi, she’s good but she’s rash. I tried to talk her out of cornering you like she did. But despite her brashness she has a point. You’re putting your faith in the wrong direction.” Jemma gently pushed your hand down, moving the sharp end of the knife to the floor. She didn’t’ attempt to pry it from you. “There are things in this world, y/n, that need to be researched to be understood.”
Jemma asked you where Kate was, and your eyes darted down to the blade before retuning it to the wooden block with ease. You told her that you didn’t’ know, that Kate had left you in the hotel room for your own safety. The biochemist seemed to believe you in earnest.
She squeezed your shoulder once before slipping out the back door. You made a point to flip the deadbolt the second she took a step onto the grass. Your mouth was incredibly dry again, eyes clenched shut in an attempt to unscramble your thoughts.
You were growing exhausted with the light B&E, climbing the stairs with a heavy disposition. You’d have to return to the office tomorrow to face Pepper with your bad decisions, maybe even Tony if he had caught wind of your unresolved issues with SHIELD.
You needed to wash the filmy hotel soap from your skin, the sweat that soaked into the fabric of your shirt during your conversation with Jemma. You flicked on the water, letting the room fill with a dense steam before stripping down to nothing but your bra and underwear. You drew in a dense, warm breath.
There was a cool touch against the bare skin of your back and a yelp escaped your lips. You turned quickly, using the back of your hand to slam blindly against the stranger. Your knuckles made contact with something hard and icy.
“Okay, I deserved that. Nice right hook, darling.”
Kate’s smooth voice settled into your veins, the steam from your running shower made her eyes look glassy, but they were filled with relief. You couldn’t’ say the same. Instead, you frowned and gave her a shove, the punch to the face not seeming like enough.
“What the hell, Kate! I thought you’d gotten yourself killed. Leaving a cryptic note like that and having me foot the bill for the motel? Dick move.” You shoved her again but took a step to keep the gap between the both of you minimal. “Don’t try to stop me. We’re a little too far for that, don’t you think?”
This time, when you moved to shove her again, her cool fingers wrapped around your wrist. She held your still with minimal effort, pulling your forward to slot against her body. Kate smelled like the earth, like blood and the cleanliness of detergent. She was taller than you, only by a few inches, but it was enough for your eyes to flick up.
The pads of her fingers moved down your bare spine, sending shivers across your body. Each time you thought you were done, each time you thought that the mess you had gotten into was slowly fizzing to an end, Kate would waltz in with her suave confidence, her frigid skin, her kind eyes that betrayed her true nature.
“I meant what I said,” She whispered to you, “I wanted to come sooner, I did, but something tells me Jemma left behind a few gifts. They can’t hear us over the water.”
“You do have a plan, then?”
“Not quite.” She sighed out, pressing her forehead against yours “But I needed to see you. Your lack of clothing is just an obvious bonus.”
She must have heard your heartbeat pick up, because Kate had a cocky smirk against her lips, tempered gray eyes clouding with lust. Despite the innate danger of simply being in her presence, you couldn’t deny your want for her.
Kate’s fingers ghosted your jawline “I can smell how much you want me, pet.”
You groaned at the words, blood blooming in a brilliant red against your cheeks. You hid your face in the crook of her neck out of embarrassment. It was infuriating, the power she had over you. But in this moment, you’d give everything up for her; your job, your home, your life if she asked.
If it were anyone else, her assuredness would infuriate you. But instead, her words, the edge of affection in her voice, made you tremble with need. Kate chuckled and the sound vibrated against your cheek.
“No reason to be shy,” Kate gently pulled back, guiding your eyes back to her.
She looked down at you, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. You weren’t quite sure who closed the distance between you, and in that moment, you didn’t care. Her lips were soft, and tasted slightly of salt. Kate made a quiet noise, brushing her tongue against your bottom lip.
Her nails raked up the bare flesh of your thighs and you gasped into her mouth at the sensation, allowing her entrance, her tongue pressed to the roof of your mouth as her fingers ghosted your ribs, the sensation making your stomach flutter.
“Is this alright?” She pulled back, and you whimpered at the loss of contact, suddenly ashamed of the effect she had on you. Kate was smiling in a way that conveyed triumph. “I promise, I’ll be gentle.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Katie.”
There was a soreness to your body that lulled you into taking the elevator up to your floor the next day. Kate, had in fact, broken her promise four times and that was enough for you to consider cashing in on the vacation days you’d built up. If it weren’t for the bloodthirsty spies, or the less bloodthirsty vampire, debacle you would have done just that.
“Well, you have a bit of pep to your step this morning Miss Y/L/N.”
“Good morning, Mr. Stark”
One of the reasons you didn’t’ take the elevator was that Tony Stark took the elevator. You’d rather dash up flights of stairs and work up a sweat than suffer through a few minutes of small talk with your boss. Especially during current circumstances.
He was dressed casually, a T-shirt and jeans, telling you that he had spent most of his morning in the lab. A cup of coffee was in his hand, steaming and filling the small space with the thick scent.
Kate had littered your collarbone with dark purple blotches, and you had let her. Ther was something intoxicating about feeling her sharp teeth brush against your skin, never breaking it but marking you all the same. You tugged the lapel of your coat, covering whatever had slipped through your collar.
“It wouldn’t have anything to do with your new friend, would it?” Tony asked.
You drew in a sharp breath and suddenly wanted to be anywhere but here. You were between floors in the elevator, the world whistling by at your back. The city looked so small as you glided towards the main office where Pepper was located.
Tony turned quickly and hit the button for the elevator to halt to a startling stop. He spilled a few drops of coffee but didn’t’ flinch as the hot liquid dripped down his hand, instead he wiped it away and gave you a deep stare. Your back was already pressed against the cold glass.
“Relax, kid, I just want to talk.”
“A lot of people just want to talk lately, and frankly I’m getting sick of everyone cornering me like this.” You said, hands gripping the railing. “Stark, I’m claustrophobic.”
“This will only take a minute.”
“If you’re going to tell me to give up Kate, forget it. I’ve heard it before, a-lot. But from where I’m sitting, the only people that are a danger to me is you and your secret organization, with your spies and your tech and your-“
“Y/n, I agree with you.”
He’d cut you off with a simple sentence. Your heart was pounding and you were white-knuckling the railing. You narrowed your eyes at him, lifting a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. There was a level of trust here, sharing a small space with an Avenger. The cockiest, most impulsive one, but an Avenger all the same.
“What?”
“I’ve done a lot of bad things in my life, and I’ve spent years trying to remedy them, protect the world from myself more than anything.” He frowned into his coffee, not looking you in the eye. “There are some people out there that without a doubt, don’t deserve a second chance. But neutralizing someone before they’ve gotten a first? That’s not how I run things.”
“You can call them off, then?” You asked.
“It doesn’t’ work like that. I work for them, not the other way around. I can make a few calls, but I can’t promise anything. I just…” He hesitated, chewing the inside of his lip “You’re like some weird, fucked up daughter to me, and I don’t want you to get hurt. Or undead, or whatever comes with what she is.”
You pried yourself from the railing and embraced him. He let out a startled breath but eventually relaxed into the hug, rubbing his hand against your back. “Alright kid, alright.”

He sees right through me
Warnings: (none)
Prompts: Peeta mellark has been in love with you since you were kids, but you didn’t feel the same, and rejecting him only ended in you realizing you liked him all along, but it’s too late seeing that you’re at his wedding, not exchanging vows, but watching from the side.
Pairing: Peeta Mellark x reader
Tumblr media
Ever since we were kids, Peeta had always been a constant presence in my life. He lived next door, me and him  were inseparable. I have fond memories of playing in the backyard, going on adventures in the woods, and sharing our dreams and secrets with each other.
But as we  grew older, things started to change. Though Peeta was still the same kind and caring boy i remembered, I  was different. I was more focused on your studies and your future, All while Peeta seemed content with just living in the moment, living as a young open minded man.
Despite our troubling differences, we remained friends, But there was always something different about Peeta. He would look at me with a longing in his eyes, and I couldn't understand why. Why did he have such a longing in his eyes. A longing for me.
As the confusing time went on, it was our last year of school that Peeta finally confessed his feelings for me. It was a cold sunday evening and we were sitting on his bed, He told me that he had been in love with me since we were kids, and that he never stopped loving me.
I didn't feel the same way about him.
But I didn't want to risk losing his friendship. there was nothing good in lying to Peeta. He was my person. I sat in front of him and I didn't lie to him, I couldn't lie to him.
As I stuttered the words on how I didn't feel the same,  His eyes deepened with pain, and his voice with a suttered tone told me, "I'm Sorry."
An instant Regret filled my eyes, as the tears filled his. I wanted to take back what I said. And I couldn't. All I could do was reach for his hand in a hope that I could still hold him. He just left. Leaving me alone with my regret on his bed.
time escaped me. And so did he.
Our last years of school approached, Peeta became more distant. He started spending more time with a girl named rose, the sewers daughter. The way he looked at her, the way they danced at parties, made me wish it were me.
I didn't want to admit it, I missed his constant presence in my life. I missed his Horrid jokes, his comforting hugs, and his unwavering Words. I wanted peeta in my life.
Before I could fully process my feelings, I rotted away in my cottage, rarely seeing Peeta. Never receiving my mail, running my earnes, or seeing him. Only thinking about how I missed him.
It was raining and cold when I heard a sudden knock on my door, I rushed the door open to see who it was. Peeta.
"i tried to write you, y/n." he said looking at me with the comforting warmth in his eyes that i've longed for. I wondered if he could tell how I had been acting, if he could tell how bad I had looked from not taking care of myself. even if he could, he still looked at me the same way he has been for years.
"I need to tell you something." he said losing the smile he was wearing when I first opened my door to greet him. What could he need? What made him travel his way just to tell me? his fading smile made me feel nervous. "what is it, Peeta?" I said stepping into the light rain, closing my door behind me.
"I'm engaged." he told me.
he was getting married to the girl he had been seeing. the same girl he danced so gracefully with. I couldn't say anything, I couldn't move. Peeta isn't mine. The selfish feeling took over me, I just wanted to run away from him, never see his face again, never feel the pain and longing it brought me.
But all I did was hug him. Even if it wasn't my place, it's all my body could do. I burrowed my head into his broad shoulder, trying to hold back my tears as I smelt his comforting smell take me over the edge.
His hand softly held my upper back, and his other resting on my lower back, he let out a soft laugh. This was the last time I'd get to hold onto him.
I pulled away from him. "Rose?" i said, hoping to remember the beautiful girl's name right.
"Rose." he said looking into my eyes with what felt like a painful goodbye.
I was hurt, but I put on a brave face like I always tried to, and congratulated him. Deep down, I couldn't help but wonder what could have been if I had just kissed peeta on the cold sunday in his room. I know he'd be mine, he would have been dancing with me.
Time escaped me again, it always does when hes stuck on my mind, but  what could I do? the wedding was here. I didn't want to go, but I had to be there for Peeta. I woke my sorry self up, put a soft pink shadow on my eyelids, brushed my hair from it tangles, and put on my mothers old flower embedded dress. I went on my way through the cold woods.
As I was on my way, everything about him flooded my mind, his skin, his touch, his soft brown eyes, his gentle atmosphere, and the way he used to love me.
I hummed the song we shared as young children, its all i had for comfort.
in fields of gold where young hearts run,
There's a tale to tell about little ones,
With rosy cheeks and laughter spun,
This is the story of our daughters and sons.
Singing with tearfilled eyes all the way there, remembering peeta and i's young voice singing through the woods together.
Before I knew it, I saw the wedding in a slow approach. The wedding was beautiful, I couldn't help but admire how happy Peeta looked with his new wife. How handsome he looked in what looked like freshly made clothes, especially how he looked when he ran with a smile towards me. "You came." he said pulling me into a tight hug, but still as soft as the one before.
"Of course I did." I said being released from his arms and making a soft eye contact. My smile faded as I realized his did, he still had his hand around my waist. It felt so natural to me, I didn't even realize It was still there.
He in an awkward frenzy removed his hand and let out a soft laugh. I gently smiled to take away the weird feeling of the moment. There was what felt like minutes betweens us before he said something. "You look young and beautiful." my heart could have leaped from my chest, even though this was what peeta would have said to anyone, being the kind soul he is, it felt more than that.
as the night went on, I kept finding myself drawn to Peeta. I caught myseld stealing glances at him, and every time he smiled, my heart felt missing.
I tried to push My feelings aside all night, this only lead me to the wine that was left on the decorated tables, It was my only distraction from him, the only thing that could distract me.
Peeta was still a part of my life, my mind, and every time I saw him, My heart thought back to that sunday, those tears filled eyes, the moment I knew what I lost. I Should've kissed him. Thats all thats running through my mind.
 I Should've kissed him.  I Should've kissed him.  I Should've kissed him.
Peeta approaches me breaking me from this frantic mindstate, I nearly stumble over from the scares of seeing him.
"Hey? the reception is starting, I've saved you first row." he said grabbing my hand to help me stay steady. Of course I had to see it all happen in front of me. My Peeta. devoting his life away to someone who isn't me. I couldn't take this any longer. The feeling inside me was eating me alive, I looked at him and his soft brown eyes and gentle smile and couldn't lie to him again, I couldn't live to regret not telling him what I feel again.
"Y/n? did you hear me?" he said as a tear went down my face. This was it, I couldn't look at him again without looking at him as my lover. my life. The words shot out of me faster than I could process them.
"Peeta, I love you."
I said it. I said it to him. tears went down my face thinking about the rejection I knew was coming. He let go of my hand, the smile left his face, his eyes looked the same way they did that sunday evening. "What?" he said with a stutter in his voice and a step back away from me. I know i've hurt him more at this point. What was I to do.
[SOFT PIANO]
the soft wedding piano starts to play. Peeta lets out a soft gulp. he turns to the walkway of flowers and back to me, he looks like he doesn't know what to say. All he does is walk away from me. As the music went on, I walked to the chair reserved for me, his family and her surrounded me. I Wanted to leave, leave off my feelings for him with what i've just told him.
But there he was, standing there, in front of his soon to be wife. His brownish/blonde hair slicked back, his clothes dressed on him nicely, he looked like himself, he looked like the peeta I fell in love with. I sat here with my lip sealed and my heart broken and my head down.
as the preacher says his words I look up to see him, he's not looking at her anymore. His eyes are on me, looking at me with that familiar longing, he swallowed his spit and furrowed his brows. there was a single tear down his cheek before he turned away from me. I know his love was still there. I was just too late.
"Do you, Rose Greenleaf, take Peeta-" the preacher was stopped before rose broke the saddening silence.
What was she doing? her flowers fell to the ground as she walked over to peeta, in a faint whisper she says "We both know we don't want to do this." she kissed his cheek leaving him at the flowery arranged altar. What was this? Why is she leaving him?
Before anything else is said, Peeta turned around.
"Im sorry. This arrangement isn't what's happening any longer." He said this with a firm voice, holding back his pain. Arrangement? My mind is going faster than before. What is going on? Didn't he love her? she was so beautiful, what I thought was his delicate dancer.
I look up to meet peeta's eyes, he's looking at me once again, this time more softly than before, like he was relieved to let me know. Everyone's no longer here, it was a small party, but me and peeta only remained.
I stood up to meet him where he was.
"Peeta?" I said taking one last step to reach him.
"I tried to write you." he said this grabbing me with his warm hands. His embrace confused me. He was holding me? "Write me what peeta?" I said looking into his eyes waiting for a response.
"We only did it for the money. It was arranged, and I was waiting for you, waiting for you to tell me to come to you. I needed to hear you say it." He said, Pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear with tears running down his crimson cheeks.
I didn't say anything, Peeta. My Peeta. He was waiting for me. My love, It was all his and he knew. I put my hands to his face and pulled him into a long awaited kiss. His lips were soft and tasted like home. The cold tears on his face mixed with mine as he pulled me in even closer. This was the moment I knew. The whole time he saw right through me. And nothing was keeping me from loving him now.
He was mine now.

(**Warning: Spoilers for the OFMD 2 season finale follow. Read at your own risk.)
I've just watched the finale of season 2 of Our Flag Means Death, and it has stirred a lot of thoughts and feelings in me (as it has many of us, unquestionably). I had initially planned to include some of these thoughts in my review of GO 2 (which I still have not written), but the death of Izzy Hands (Con O'Neill) has brought back some of the feelings I had a few months ago, so I'd like to talk about the theme of ableism in GO 2 and OFMD.
Since the first season, Izzy Hands has seemingly been a polarizing figure, but there has been a clear emotional resonance on the part of fans toward him, and especially now in season 2. To have his arc and "redemption" come in such an ignominious fashion certainly feels like a slap in the face to those fans. I would characterize myself as "Izzy neutral" (that is, I did not hate him, but I didn't necessarily feel a deep connection to him, either), but what troubles me is how Izzy was ultimately treated as a disabled character.
Earlier in episode 8, the Revenge crew is jailed, and Prince Ricky pulls Izzy out of the cell to have a drink, and during this exchange Izzy says this line, which we had previously heard in one of the trailers:
Tumblr media
It was Izzy who the writers/creative team specifically chose to have say this line, and because of that, I find it very difficult to swallow the idea that he was the one character who was later killed. That in the end, the character who speaks about belonging is the one who doesn't get to belong. As if he was there to further Ed's storyline, to be an object lesson for him, and was then disposable after that.
Further compounding the issue was the crew using Izzy's prosthetic leg as a grave marker (presumably under the assumption that he no longer needed it). But for many disabled people, prostheses and wheelchairs and other accommodations are what help us thrive in the world and are part of who we are, so to me, taking that away from him inadvertently diminished how complex and multifaceted Izzy had become as a character and seemingly reduced him to little more than a mascot.
As a person on the autism spectrum who works in the field of disability, Izzy's line about belonging resonated with me extremely deeply. For many of us who are neurodivergent or disabled, this is the stuff of our everyday lives--being told through childhood, adolescence, and even adulthood that we are nothing, and that our lives do not have value. I spent so many years searching for that sense of belonging, to know that I had a place in the world, and it was not something anyone could give to me, but something I had to fight for. To make that space, because no one else would.
As I've said before, while I have watched both shows, I am far more into and emotionally connected to GO than OFMD. This leads me to GO season 2, and the parallels to this that I saw there. In GO 2, we have the character of Saraqael (Liz Carr), who is an angel that uses a wheelchair (as does the actor who plays them). It's shown in one of the episodes that Saraqael's power is to miracle wheelchair ramps everywhere they go, and in nearly all of the reviews and articles I've read about the second season, this trait is met with widespread praise.
But to me it mirrored precisely what we see in real life--that is, that the burden of accessibility is often placed on disabled people ourselves. I would have loved to have seen one of the able-bodied angels have not only the power, but the desire to create those ramps. It was disheartening to me to think that even in a seemingly ideal place like Heaven (although we know it certainly isn't), it is the disabled character who has to create a place for themselves.
The character choices around Saraqael and Izzy are something I would describe as benevolent ableism, in that while no harm was likely intended, it still reinforces long-ingrained prejudices and ideas about disability. There is so much intersectionality between queerness and disability as well, and so it is disappointing to see an opportunity to have that idea of "belonging" encompass every character only encompass certain characters instead.
I truly think this will only change if and when we have disabled people behind the camera as well as in front of it. And I hope that day comes sooner rather than later so that all of the fans who see themselves in Izzy or Saraqael are not left feeling the way they do now...

Stop Your Breath
Kane x Friend Reader
Summary: somethings changed his changed and you don't know if it's for the better
Warning: choking, tied up, breeding, marking
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yn/3rd person pov
I descend from the top of the stairs slowly holding my up graded bass ball bat the end of it covered in nails, my eyes were locked on the rattling door noob, stepping closer to it and raising the bat up to swing as the door opened.
"Its me" I stop mid swing as I heard him shout "fuck kane I almost killed you" I squealed and dropped the bat he looked between me and the bat and pointed at it "halloween" he asked with a bit of tease in his voice as he grinned.
"Still a killing machine though" I huffed slightly and walked into his arms hugging him tightly "what are you doing here" I murmured and pulled back a little so I could see his face.
His grinned fultered for a split second and his eyes glossed with tears "is everything ok" I asked my voice wavering with concern he bit his lip and looked down to the ground shaking his head.
"She cheated" he whispered so softly I almost couldn't hear it "w-what" I had to ask again just so I can make sure I heard him right, "she.... she cheated on me" his breathing became shallow as silent tears ran down his face.
I used one of my hands to urge him to look at me "it's ok to cry kane" I murmured he always had the tendency to bottle up his emotions due to his training.
He leaned into my hand and bit his lip and closed his eyes tightly his body began to shake from his crys "I-I'm supposed to be leaving tomorrow" his sobs echoed through the hallway.
I shushed him gently and hugged him more tighter then I ever have before "it's going to be ok" I reassured even though my heart hurt so much.
"Your going to be ok" I whispered and gently urged him to the couch were we lay in the comfort of eachothers arms, my hands drawing little patterns on his arms as I listened to his heart beat.
His crys of pain made my heart ache but I didn’t know what to say or do, I've only ever see him cry a couple times, "why doesn't she love me".
I wanted to say so many things but I couldn't form the words I couldn't let my feelings get the better of me, I just stayed silent listening to all of his pain it killed me.
"Am I not worth loving" my eyes snapped to look at him and he was already looking at him his filled with sorrow and helplessness, his dark curls framing his face perfectly.
I let my walls break as I adjusted myself fully to look at him "you deserve everything the world has to offer kane and I hate that you can't see that, you risk your life everyday saving alot of people" I paused taking a deep breath in.
"There's a lot of people that love you it doesn't matter if she doesn't she didn't deserve you" tears of my own started falling down my cheeks "you don't deserve this" I whispered.
"You deserve someone who treats you right someone that can handle you at your best and worse" I murmured intertwining one of our hands together.
He smiled softly and leaned up to me his hand gently caressing my cheek "I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner" he said softly before gently pushing his lips to mine I whined softly as he pulled away.
"I deserve so much better" he smiled his eyes no longer filled with sadness he pecked my lips once again and shifted so we were both laying comfortably in eachothers arms, we sat in silence just enjoying eachothers company.
I let out a tired yawn and I felt him shift underneath me "it's ok lets just sleep" he murmured seeing my tiredness.
My eyes slowly drifted shut and I released some soft murmurs I'd hope he'd hear "please come back to me" before drifting to sleep.
"Of course I will" he whispered to your sleeping and gently kissed your temple and falling asleep himself, he was long gone when you woke up but you snuggled in further to were he lay because his scent lingered "come back to me please".
Time skip
It's been 14 months since kane's left my heart aches worst with each passing day the thought of him not returning makes my fists clench I should've tried to make him stay convince him to stay with me.
It takes longer for me to fall asleep nowadays most of the time I'm sitting on my windowsill hoping to see his car round the corner or keep my phone fully charged with full volume notifications.
"Goodnight kane" I whispered to myself and slowly drag my tired self to my unmade bed I lazily covered myself as I got in.
My eyes slowly flattered shut as I snuggled into the pillows "I miss you" I murmured and yawned tiredly slowly drifting to sleep letting my mind disappear into the land of dreams.
Your soft snores covered the sound of your door being unlocked and the soft padding of foots the man you have been hoping for has returned but your sleeping figure went unfazed.
He didn't know why he came here instead of going home, to his wife he didn't feel the need to he felt the longing that the man before him felt kane wanted you he needed you.
His dull lifeless eyes stared down at your sleeping figure not knowing what to do must he wake you or leave you asleep and just leave but his body didn't want to move so he just stood there.
I groaned slowly stirring from my sleep the feeling of uneasiness waking me I sleepily reached over to my bed side table turning on my lights.
I didn't notice the man infront of me in till I opened my eyes after rubbing them "fuck" I scream and threw one of my pillows at the intruder but he went unfazed.
"K-kane" I murmured unsure unsurely and rubbed my eyes again to make sure I wasn't dreaming "kane" I yelled out and threw myself into his arms hugging him tightly.
"I missed you" I whispered as a few happy tears escaped my eyes, he hesitantly wrapped his arms around me and leaning his head into the crook of my neck inhaling my scent "i-i missed you to" he didn't sound so sure.
I pulled back "what happened" I murmured looking into his eyes but they weren't like I remember they looked lifeless and dull "why aren't you st home" he didn't answer my questions and just continued to stare at me in silence.
"Kane answer me" I was worried for him, I gently raised my hand to caress his cheek he stiffened under my touch he quickly grabbed my hand that was by his face and brought it to his mouth and kissed my wrist.
"I need you" he whispered his eyes darkening as he dragged his gaze up and down my body my body shivered in anticipation and my cheeks felt flushed, I took in a shaking breath.
"I-i need you to" I stammered moving my hands to wrap around his neck and leaned up onto my tippy toes pressing my lips to his in a passionate kiss.
His hands planted themselves onto my hips pulling me into him I gasped against his lips feeling his erection he this to his advantage and deepened the kiss more making my knees buckle.
He slowly moved me back onto the bed and slowly took off his shirt maintaining eye contact me, my breath hitched as I gazed upon his body small scars and cuts littered his chest.
"Take off your clothes" he said sternly as he slowly undid his belt I nodded submissively and slipped off my clothes, he quickly took off his pants leaving him in his boxers.
My mouth watered as I noticed the big bulge of his cock, he slowly claimed onto the bed and straddled me with the belt in his hands "hands up" he muttered I nervously gave him my hands.
He wrapped his belt around them and tied them to the headboard sighing out a shakey breathe as he did so he slowly let his hands graze down my arms to my shoulders down to my breast giving them a slight squeeze making me whine out.
A lustful glint appeared in his eyes and pulled his hands away from me, I watched intently as he started to touch himself his hands slowly inching their way to his boxers and painfully slow he pulled out his cock.
"I hope your ready for me" he said and leaned down on his arms and attached his lips to my neck, his body caging me down "f-fuck I am I am" i whined slightly lifting my hips to feel his cock against me.
He let out a deep growl and moved one of his hands grabbing his cock giving it a few jerks before moving it closer to my core, he ran the tip up and down my slight my body trembled slightly.
"Please kane" I whispered gently tugging at my restraints he smirked against my skin and gently pushed in, we both moaned in pleasure my muscles spasming as he split me open.
"Fuck" I moaned throwing my head back into the pillow I felt him adjusting himself and I gasped as I felt him wrap a hand around my throat squeezing ever so slightly "k-kane" I stammered.
He didn't answer instead he started to thrust in and out letting out small groans and grunts as he slowly started quickening his pace, the hand his has on my neck slightly spasming every few seconds.
My breath hitched everytime he thrusted into me and my eyes rolled back in pleasure so many thoughts were running through my mind this doesn't seem like kane, he wouldn't act like this but I just don't care.
"Please kane" I moaned and wrapped my legs around his waist he grunted in response and hardened his thrusts I could swear I head my bedframe crack.
My moans heightened as I felt a knot form in my stomach and kanes cock started to pulse he didn't show any signs of pulling out or stopping which drove me crazy.
"C-cum inside me.... please" I begged desperately it only took us a few more thrusts before we both climaxed making us both cry out, kane slowed his thrusts panting and kissed my forehead loving as he gently pulled out.
He quickly undid my restraints but I still couldn't move my body was tired even though I didn't do anything, I watched him with half lidded eyes as he climbed off the bed and disappearing into the bathroom, I dizzily looked to the right to see my mirror and noticed the dark marks along my neck.
He cleared his throat as he re-entered the room and I slowly looked to him, he sat down on the bed and gently started cleaning my core with a wet cloth his eyes dragging themselves up and down my body only stopping when we looked eyes.
"Rest now"

Thank you for taking requests! Sextember makes me think of Jacques taking you to a kinky sex party that’s kind of dark and freaky.
the settings and some events in this story are inspired by a real life 1700s sex club called "the hellfire club", which I believe I've used as inspo before (but this one is different, I promise lol). also, the book he reads from & the lines he reads are from a real 1700s-era piece of erotic literature!
warnings. SMUT (18+ ONLY), a sex club, reader is a high-class prostitute, erotic readings (nothing super explicit mentioned), exhibitionism, some dirty talk, unprotected p in v, no creampie.

The night is dark, the only light coming from the crescent moon hanging above as you step onto the boat along with the other ladies. Everyone is wearing a costume and mask of some kind, the desire to conceal identities common on an evening like this one.
You're taken to the entrance to Pierre's remote estate at Wycombe and are guided in by a man, also in costume. Waiting for you in the large dining room was your date for the evening, Sir Jacques Le Gris. He greets you with a smile and wraps an arm around you as you take a seat on his lap.
A night of debauchery is about to begin...
Dinner starts off with just food, but soon takes a sinful turn when one of the guests retrieves a certain book from the library in the other room, which then begins the evening's erotic readings.
Jacques is a spirited participant, enjoying the showmanship of it all as he reads the explicit words written out on the pages.
"A Dialogue Between a Married Lady and a Maid," he reads off the cover, then flips through the pages before landing on an excerpt. "There is between the thighs, just at the bottom of the belly, a piece of flesh...underneath, hangs in a bag, or purse, two little balls, pretty hard, and the harder the better. And in them is contained that thick white liquor."
Everyone chuckles you smile slightly, feeling some warmth begin to blossom throughout your body.
"He took hold of that place which distinguishes us from men. At the same time he cried out, 'O! I have a maid! A virgin to my share!'"
You take your lip between your teeth as he keeps reading.
"His member was stiff and hard as a horn. Just as he had finished, my mother, who had heard me shriek, came into the room. 'What a happy girl you are!' said she. 'Pluck off this smock, which I will keep for a relick, since it is stained with thy virgin's blood.'"
Jacques hands the book off to another reader while everyone applauds his delightful reading. When he sits back down, you get onto his lap and rest a hand on his chest with a small smile.
"What an bewitching reading," you say, tugging playfully at the ties of his shirt. "I thoroughly enjoyed myself."
He enjoys this, chuckling softly as he wraps his arm around you and gives your hip a little squeeze.
"I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed it, poppet," he says in a low voice, eyes beginning to darken with lust. "I hope that soon, I get to feel just how much you enjoyed it."
You let out a shaky breath at his words, finding it very hard to keep yourself contained as the readings finish up. But eventually, the party moves down to the caves and everyone files into a large room with several rooms branching off of the main one. You know what's set to happen next, and some of it has already begun, considering a few people immediately make their way into the other rooms.
You hum as Jacques begins to tease you and chase you around the room like a hunter stalking his prey. You always enjoy the little games Jacques plays at club meetings, so you go along with it, running away and dodging his grabs, which only excites him more.
"Come come, I will only chase you..."
He pulls off his shirt, revealing his toned torso, then grabs a couple pieces of bread and pops them into his mouth. He suddenly dashes at you and tosses you over his shoulder. Everyone around you two laughs at the sight as you begin to playfully wriggle around, pretending to try and break free from his grasp.
"Put me down," you say, chuckling as he carries you over towards the large bed. "Put me down this instant!"
Several of the girls get onto the bed as he drops you down onto it, and the women all gather around you as Jacques pushes your skirts up. Jacques lowers his pants enough so that his hardened length is exposed. The ladies all look upon his sizable shaft as he gives himself a few strokes, then nudges the tip against your cunt before thrusting in, grunting softly at the feeling.
You gasp softly at his size and he gives you but a moment to adjust before he begins fucking you slowly, finding his ideal rhythm.
"Good God," he sighs, hands on your hips. "What a lovely little cunt you have, poppet."
He truly means it, and it isn't something he often says to the ladies he beds. But you...you're different. His cock begins to twitch inside of you as his hips pick up pace. The women gathered around your head hold your arms and look at Jacques, greatly enjoying the sights and sounds he's providing them.
"How lucky a lady must be to take Sir Le Gris inside of her," one of the young women says, biting her lip. "I imagine he feels absolutely wonderful."
You let a soft whimper leave your lips and nod, eyes shut in pleasure. "Indeed."
Jacques chuckles breathily, groaning lowly as his peak approaches rather quickly. He always hates having to pull out, he wishes he could bury every last bit of his seed deep inside of you, but alas, rules are rules.
Suddenly, he's pulling out and allowing his white liquor to paint your skin and delicate folds with a gruff growl of relief. Your hands tighten in the sheets, then release when he pushes back and grabs his cup of wine, taking a long drink.
You wipe yourself off with a cloth that one of the girls provides you, then turn over and sit up on the bed. He lets his hand caress your cheek for just a moment, the closest you'll ever get to a 'thank you' or 'I enjoyed our time together', then looks up at the ladies with a charming grin.
"Alright. Who's next?"

Summary- It's wedding day baby!
A/N- Happy Valentine's Day y'all! Why not upload a cheesy oneshot?
Part 1, Part 2
Backing up from the mirror, I smoothed out my outfit and looked at myself in the mirror. The afternoon sun shone through the window, shining my ring which reflected on the mirror. Just in an hour, I’ll be married to the love of my life.
“Who is it?” I asked as I heard a knock on the door.
“Just us hun.” I heard Mom’s voice on the other side and the door opened.
“So,” I turned to face my family, Rooster and Dad in their dress blues. “What do you think?”
“Aw,” Mom awed and clapped her hands together, with tears in her eyes. “Sweetie, you look great.”
“I have to agree with your mom Chickadee,” Dad smiled. “How are you feeling?”
“Nervous,” I let out a nervous chuckle. “But I’m ready.”
“You’re going to be fine,” my brother reassured me and gave me a hug. “Come on, let’s go. If we don’t we’ll be late.”
All of us grabbed our things and we got into Rooster’s bronco to head to the Hard Deck. Since Bob and I didn’t really want to do a huge wedding, we decided to plan a small and intimate one. It was just our close friends and family celebrating with us. Also Penny offered to close down the Hard Deck for the day for us for our ceremony and reception.
Pulling up to the Hard Deck and parking the car, the four of us got out and headed inside. All of our wedding party were inside chatting to each other before the ceremony started.
“You look great,” Phoenix walked up to me and hugged me.
“Thanks, you do too,” I complimented her in her dress. “How’s Bob?”
“A little nervous but he’s going to be fine when he sees you walking down,” she smiled. “So, did you tear up?”
“More like bawling,” I let out a laugh remembering when I read the vows he wrote for me a few hours ago.
We decided not to say our vows outloud to everyone but write it and give it to each other. It just feels more private and personal.
“Him?” I asked.
“Definitely cried,” we both let out a chuckle and we heard our wedding planner grabbing everyone’s attention.
“Well, see you down on the aisle.” Phoenix hugged me one last time before leaving the Hard Deck with everyone else.
“Remember, don’t trip.” I smacked Rooster in the chest from what he said.
Letting out a laugh and giving me a kiss on the top of my head, he left the bar leaving my parents and I together. With tears in my eyes, we did a group hug and collected ourselves before we walked down the aisle.
Linking arms with my parents, we saw everyone standing up and we started our way down the aisle. When we got closer to the aisle, I saw Bob in his dress blues and the tears started falling down. I saw him letting a few tears go which caused me to tear up more.
“Hi,” Bob whispered as I joined hands with him. “You look amazing.”
“Thanks,” I blushed a little. “You too.”
“You may be seated,” Mav announced.
Yes, he’s officiating our wedding. Ice was our first choice but with his voice and everything, we decided not to risk it.
“Today we are here to witness the union of Robert Floyd and Y/N L/N. If there are any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace.” There was silence all across the crowd. “Alright then. Y/N, Robert, before we started with the rings, look out to the crowd.”
Bob and I look out at our friends and family who already have tears in their eyes. “And remember you’re going to be stuck with these people for the rest of your life. Are you sure about that?”
Bob and I  let out a laugh while everyone else cheered. “Bob, you’re going to have an amazing mother-in-law but are you sure you want Rooster and Goose as your father and brother-in-law?”
“Oh I’m sure,” Bob nodded his head as everyone laughed harder at Mav’s quip.
“Y/N, Robert, the two of you are going to spend the rest of your lives together,” Mav started his speech. “The two of you have gone through so many hardships which made your bond stronger than ever. Like every relationship, you’re going to live. You’re going to fight over every small and big thing. Yet the two of you always manage to get through them. I think it’s because the two of you have amazing role models when it comes to relationships.”
Bob and I looked at our parents and thanked them.
“Remember, these don’t just disappear when you get married,” Mav looked at us and we nodded our heads in understanding. “Now for the fun part, rings please.”
Phoenix got up from her seat and handed Mav the rings.
“Robert, do you take Y/N to have and to hold. In sickness and in health, for the both of you shall live?” Mav asked.
“I do,” Bob replied as he slid my wedding band on my ring finger.
Mav cleared his throat and faced me. “Y/N, do you take Robert as your husband to have and to hold. In sickness and in health, for the both of you shall live?”
“I do,” I replied with tears in my eyes as I slid Bob’s ring on.
“Well with the power vested in me and the state of California, I pronounce you as partners for life. You may kiss!”
Bob swooped me in his arms and dipped me giving our first kiss as a married couple. Bringing me up from the dip, we faced our friends and family who were cheering for us. Linking our hands together, we walked down the aisle and under the saber arch while Pheonix and Rooster closed the end. Giving each other a kiss again, they lifted their sabers and we headed a few feet away from the bar to take pictures together.
Before walking into the bar, Bob and I spent five minutes alone reflecting what just happened.
“We’re married,” I mumbled in his chest.
“Oh my god we’re married,” I heard the joy in his voice and looked up at him.
“I love you,” I got on my toes to kiss him.
“I love you too,” he kissed back.
When our five minutes were done, we made our way to the bar.
“Everyone, please welcome the couple of the evening!” We heard Phoenix announce. “Y/N and Robert Floyd!”
Bob and I walked hand in hand as our friends and family cheered in celebration. I let out a chuckle as Bob dipped me again to kiss me. Bob and I did a little speech thanking everyone for coming and helping us out with the wedding before food was served. Bob and I decided to cater Mexican food from a local taqueria that we go to after we’re done with work once a week that’s near base. Bob and I ate our food in the booth that was decorated for us.
Throughout the meal speeches were made. All of us laughed and teared up at the speeches that were given. Our parents gave some sweet speeches that were so filled with love and happiness for us. Rooster decided to spill all of my embarrassing moments and embarrassed me in front of everyone.
Why did I choose him as my man of honor?
Phoenix on the other hand shared a pretty sweet story between her and Bob.
“Alright, time for the couples first dance!” Rooster announced.
Tables were pushed along the walls leaving space for a dance floor. Grabbing Bob's hand, he pulled me to the dance floor and I wrapped my left arm around his neck while holding his hand. His arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer as we danced to the first dance remix of Taylor Swift’s Lover. We did some little spins and twirls to give our guests a show.
When the song ended, everyone applauded and the music changed. All of us danced to the playlist that Bob and I created with the addition of the Dagger Squad adding some songs. I gave Rooster a nod and he turned off the playlist and I went to the piano with him along with our dad. As Rooster pressed the keys, a familiar melody I grew up listening to filled my ears.
“You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain,” Dad first sang.
“Too much love drives a man insane,” Rooster sang next.
“You broke my will, but what a thrill,” I sang out.
“Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!” Everyone joined in.
“Kiss me baby,” I sang to Bob who kissed me. “Ooh, feels good.”
After the singing and more dancing, Bob and I cut the cake. Feeding it to each other, a little bit of the vanilla sponge cake with strawberry cream filling somehow ended up on our faces.
“Stay safe you too,” our parents told us as we were about to leave.
“We will,” we reassured them.
“The two of you have fun in Romania and England,” Phoenix and Rooster came up to hug us.
“Thanks,” we hugged them.
Saying and waving goodbye to everyone, we got into Bob’s Wrangler and drove away starting our new life as a married couple.
