after several watches and now a back to back rewatch i think i can conclude that though i love bly manor with my whole heart, and it was initially my favorite of the two, hill house just has such an incredibly tight story that never misses a single beat and is objectively the better of the two

#and as always i can conclude that victoria pedretti has me in a chokehold in both and is one of the greatest actors of our generation #bly is phenomenal but i feel like it wanders just a bit too much at times #like non chronological storytelling is flanagans bread and butter i just think he does a slightly better job of it in hill house #i’m curious what new conclusions i come to about midnight mass and fall of the house of usher after rewatching those #i wonder if i’ll still think usher is his piece de resistance #anyways enough rambling in the tags #the haunting of hill house #the haunting of bly manor #bork bork!#oh and my favorites of both are nellie and then dani and jamie collectively #damie will always have me in a chokehold
