talking to ani / @softersinned abt how astoria & ellis' relationship w kieran is tonight. i am obsessed a little bit because astoria & ellis love is probably sooo different than morrigan's. not saying that in a bad way, they all have something to teach him & they will all fuck up & succeed in different ways! kieran is special & needs more than one perspective to shape his world. but i love the idea of this weird fucking kid being left with his father & step mom & not knowing what to expect. knowing tht he is going to be left with the hero of ferelden & the inquisitor herself. being so used to olresian polticis, being used to everyone having an agendabut coming to them & they are just hilarious messes. they're saving the world, being shitposts of humans / fucking up, learning how to be ok with that & loving each other ( & him! ) & there's not much room for much else.

#ch. ellis cousland #there is so much more here as well #but bottom line is ellis loves his son & ellis loves his wife & when they start to get along he goes insane [ positive ]#there is no doubt in my mind that morrigan loves kieran i do not want to imply that she doesnt #but her love is sooo mcuh more calculated when it comes to risk vs reward #the way ani put it was that she wanted an old god's soul & did not expect to love being a mother so much #but ellis has spent a decade trying to find this kid & have the opportunity to know him before he dies #and another way ani put it was astoria loses an arm but gains a son & shes satisfied with that #after the most stressful years of her life she walks away with a new family which is beautiful to me #like ellis & astoria were already married prior to this i do believe but having kieran around just does something wonderful #bcs astoria ALSO did not expect to enjoy being a mother so much
