It makes me really sad when people can't see any value in something that could conceivably be inconvenient to them in a game. Like particularly when people insist the 30 day time limit in Pikmin is Bad and there is No Reason Ever Possibly To Do That as if it doesn't inform the atmosphere, design, themes, etc. of that game all the way down. I can understand personally preferring a game with no time limit, but I don't, and the fact that so many people refuse to even entertain the idea that design concepts like this can be good is kind of exhausting
#like there will never be a pikmin game as unique as pikmin 1 again and the reaction to that is largely 'thank god'#and yes i do think pikmin 2 is actively worse for appealing to people who didnt like pikmin 1. sorry#didnt like the 30 day limit? dont worry! theres no limit whatsoever now#didnt like the daytime limit? dont worry! 75% of the game takes place in caves where the clock doesn't move#and also we added grinding features (purples / whites and spicy / bitter spray) π#and the hocotate ship is going to explicitly tell you to take as long as you want and slow down and stop trying to do time management.#in case you got scared
