all this hate for calculus as if it isn't the best area of mathematics. insert pensive emoji
#calculus is soooo fun#it only starts to get really fucked up once you get to like. calc 3 and 4#but if you're complaining about like. high school calc. then im so sad for you#basic derivatives and integrals are SOOO fun#high school calculus was the first math class i ever actually enjoyed#now. of course. once you get to say. multivariable calculus. then yes that was hell on earth#calc 4 was also pretty bad i mean. a lot more enjoyable than 3 but alas#and also the calculus all my upper level physics / astro courses require is like. these insane fucking integrals#like so insane that they say 'this isnt humanly possible to calculate. the only way to get a final value is through a computer program'#like. NOW THAT. i understand quibbling over#like. like. fourier transforms. or integrating the motion of a planet along its orbit over millions of years. etc#but basic derivatives like. the derivative of x^4 = 1/4 x^3. i do not understand why everybody hates that#its so fun i swear#i miss when calculus was just basic derivatives and integrals. sighs#brot posts
