Profuse amounts of happy tears emojis under the cut.
The way Jayce thought Viktor would be better after they ALMOST KISSED?!?! Clueless man!! Get a grip! It's continuously ironic how Jayce tries harder and harder to make Viktor feel better, and it only succeeds in making Viktor love him hopelessly more and more.
Well, Jayce is 100% convinced he was the only one to initiate, AND that Viktor doesn't love him anyway. He became convinced that he's the cure... and in a way he is... except that for now he definitely isn't, since Viktor is convinced Jayce doesn't love him... Even now as I'm writing this I am still in awe at how silly they both are.
I'm desperately hoping for the confession chapter even though I know there's so much more of the story left. I'm going to snap my phone in two out of frustration before Jayce connects the dots.
The confession chapter will arrive... eventually... I would rather not give you an ETA to keep you on your toes, but for the sake of your phone, let's just say that there will be some room after the confession chapter to describe Viktor and Jayce's happily ever after.
I do love seeing Jayce nervous about things. I find him so relatable in that way. He's kind of a people-pleaser and wants to do a good job. And damn if I don't behave the same way before giving a speech, running through the script andtrying to get the wording just right. And Jayce's distraction by the shared moment when they almost kissed, it cracks me up. He's like, "Viktor? Kissable? Well..no..wait, unless? NO STOP THINKING ABOUT IT." Oh Jayce, you are so in love with him.
I like to imagine Jayce is the kind of person to have his thoughts circle back again and again. The poor man is spiraling.
"I can't believe I wanted to kiss Viktor -> why would I want to kiss him anyway, he isn't that attractive right? Better check -> Oh my God, maybe he is -> no he definitely isn't -> I can't believe I wanted to kiss Viktor"
And on and on!
AAAA the trope where one person realizes their attraction and thinks only "oh." I'm obsessed with it. I've used it in my own writing before too, because it's just so perfect. Such a simple word to describe a shift in perception so large, it's rewriting every thought in Jayce's brain. And he tries to deny it to himself later! A trick of the light? His lips aren't that enticing in the daylight pshhh I was offended on Viktor's behalf. Jayce, how dare you? Viktor is totally kissable at all hours of the day (glad he realizes that later lol, what a goofball).
The famous italicized 'oh' moment... And Jayce got his off-screen... Ahah. There is no other word that could have explained what happened in Jayce's head at that moment. One moment, he was seeing his best friend, feeling like he finally managed to bury his jealousy for good, and the next... He was seeing his whole reason to live, smiling at him. Everything changed. He felt the Pull™ at full power, the one that has always been there although he never really questioned it, and from that moment onward, it never left him.
Also I personally love it when Jayce tries to deny how attractive he finds Viktor. Sure, it's a little unfair toward Viktor, but my God, how I love when a character claims someone is unattractive, and yet can't help but feel the sharp stab of desire and longing whenever they see them. Awww wonderful.
"He's my partner," Jayce hissed, baring his teeth and taking a threatening step toward the man. "Careful how you talk about him." I'm screeching. I'm dead on the floor. Protective angry Jayce, my beloved. I'm so glad he did shit like this in the show because I can imagine exactly how he'd look while saying this. Bless the people at Fortiche for animating Jayce and for you @white-btterfly for creating this story. My brain will never be the same after consuming these chapters.
Neither will my brain after reading your comment! 😭❤️
Smirking at Caitlyn giving Jayce shit about being a convicted felon. Smacking and flicking each other like brother and sister. I love their dynamic so much. I love Caitlyn showing up in stories. She always adds this break in the tension, a peaceful comfortable friendship with Jayce despite whatever else is going on.
I too love Caitlyn and Jayce's sibling relationship! We'll see her again.
Someone please draw Viktor in his gala outfit, I'm dying.
I had the idea to commission some artists to draw fanarts for BYSS. I desperately want to see Jayce and Viktor nearly kissing while floating!
And Jayce can't even hold himself back. He did miss him all day. He thinks Viktor is charming and handsome aaaaaaAAAAAAA!!!!! If only Viktor could hear Jayce's thoughts. He would be astonished.
Viktor would have a hard time believing it indeed.
I decided to give Sky what she deserves, which is a happy life. When I first watched the show, I was revolted by the way her character got used to further Viktor's story. For a show that usually respects its female characters, the way Sky got fridged was horrible. I was indignant! Furious on her behalf! Anyway, in my story, she's happy, working on projects she loves, she's getting over her feelings for Viktor and staying friends with him, she's befriending Jayce and she danced with him and got a flock of admirers like she deserves!
Some readers couldn't understand why Jayce asked Sky instead of Viktor, but Jayce wasn't ready to ask Viktor yet. And asking Viktor in front of everyone would have been a sure way to make Viktor die of embarrassment. He hates being the center of attention.
About Jayce, there's nothing more charming than a man who has no idea how attractive he is. Jayce could easily have anything and anyone he wants, and yet all he wants is do science and love Viktor. When you said Jayce's whole world revolves around Viktor, nothing has ever been more true.
There's so much anticipation every time Jayce switches partners for dancing. I was waiting with bated breath like "who will he ask next? Will he ask Viktor yet? Next time, maybe? What about now? Ask Viktor, he clearly wants to dance, Jayce. Jayce, please!! Please ask Viktor you idiot!"
I have sprinkled the previous chapters with so many talks about dancing, that scene was bound to happen. Piltover, especially on Progress Day, seemed like the perfect setting to have a gala. I've seen so many fanarts of Jayce and Viktor with matching outfits, so many fanarts of them dancing... Plus, dancing can feel so intimate when the right conditions are met... I just had to write it!
Hilarious that Jayce was talking over Viktor and sacrificing his good time to dance with potential investors, all because he's trying to earn Viktor's praise and help their Hextech dream. Viktor tried so hard to let him know that he didn't have to dance and Jayce just trampled all over it like the dumbass he is. "I'm ready to dance with every woman in this room to make it happen." Jayce, stop it, please. Viktor might crush his champagne flute from the jealously running through his veins.
Ahahah oh my God. I love that line. I giggled when I wrote it. Jayce is just so oblivious.
My blood and Viktor's blood ran cold when Mel came into the equation. She's just so charismatic and beautiful. Nobody can hold a candle to her. It was heartbreaking to watch Jayce realize that he made a big mistake. Viktor rarely looks that hurt by anything. Annoyed? Yes. Betrayed? Sure, occasionally. Angry? Definitely. But genuinely hurt? Oh that's reserved for only the most important person in Viktor's life, Jayce Talis, the bumbling fool.
I think Mel, being an empath and the perceptive woman we know, sensed the yearning vibes as soon as she entered the ballroom, coming as much from Viktor as from Jayce. They were so strong she felt compelled to do something.
The whole exchange when Jayce says he's married to science and Mel refers to Viktor as "science," now that was genius. The whole exchange between the two of them was literal gold.
Thank you!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
Viktor is so not subtle at this gala. The yearning and jealousy are at 10/10 levels. I'm eating it up. 10 course meal of the finest words ever put to a page.
😭😭😭😭😭
Also yes, Viktor was 100% jealous. To think seeing Viktor dance with Mel during the Distinguished Innovators competition was exactly what triggered his first coughing fit of nightblooms... And to think Viktor has to watch them dance again... It was heartbreaking for him.
I hope that list comes back to bite Jayce in the ass later. Literally. I hope the paper comes loose and smacks him in the face, forcing him to see his own signature on the page and have the whole world come crashing down around him. I can't believe how many times he has thought back to that list as the reason Viktor can't possibly have feelings for him. Jayce, you fool! Take another look! Fresh eyes! See the truth!
We haven't seen the last of the List™. We will see it again. And it will plague Jayce again. And again. The list will be crucial in the grand finale.
Oh, the glorious moment when Jayce asked Viktor to dance. I'm so glad it happened. The fact that Viktor was jealous so long ago and believed Jayce loved dancing the whole time, only to find out he doesn't really like it. And to have Jayce finally see him and ask him to dance. It's coming full circle. Viktor is getting what he wanted all this time. He just can't see how genuine it all is.
This was the scene I struggled on the most in this chapter—Jayce asking Viktor to dance. Because it was such a delicate balance of longing and hope and bitter disappointment and denial followed by intense joy and I had to temper it all. So many feelings in such a short amount of time. I revised this part so many times! I think I am quite satisfied now.
Jayce Talis, the man that you are. I love how he blurts out the truth like it'll burn him from the inside if he doesn't share it. I love how honest he's being in this chapter. Such growth compared to the beginning! He'll get there eventually. I believe in him! Slowly letting himself act on these feelings he has. He's scared of rejection, but does it anyway.
That's the thing with Jayce, he's so honest he can sometime act on impulse. Although he tried a lot to repress his feelings for Viktor, they guide all his actions, so sometimes he can't help but say or do what's on his mind. In an earlier chapter, Jayce thought to himself that he "couldn't imagine himself being in love with someone and keeping it to himself for more than three seconds". Viktor kept his feelings for Jayce locked away in his heart for four years. How long do you think Jayce is going to last?
I've read the scene of them dancing like five times. What's in this story? God damn, the sentences are laced with some kind of illicit magic that keeps my eyes glued to the screen.
Lots of love and care!
Plus a little bit of Shimmer sprinkled on top to keep you addicted.
(Oh my God, thank you 😭❤️)
They are so soft?!?!?! So gentle with each other. And Jayce's apology? I'm crying. There's an ocean full of tears and it's from me, laying face down on the floor sobbing about how cute they are. Viktor's forehead on Jayce's chest? Oh my god. Just when I think they can't get any more in love without realizing it, it just gets WORSE.
Jayce's apology... I love it... I love that he's talking using the third person because it makes it easier for them to talk about their feelings. Urgh, they're so in love it makes me sick.
Okay, hear me out. The moonblossoms lighting up. The dancing out in their own little world in nature. It's giving...that scene from Little Mermaid where they're in the boat together and about to kiss. (God I haven't seen that movie in forever, somehow it was summoned from the depths of my childhood memories) Anyway, I'm giggling and kicking my feet.
Awww, honestly, you humble me. 😭 I can't say for sure that I had this particular scene in mind when writing my own scene, but I put so many tropes I love into this fanfiction, that statistically I must have drawn inspiration from some Disney stories, even if subconsciously.
Also fucking RUDE of you to suggest The Scientist as the song for Jayce and Viktor, I'll never be able to listen to that song again without melting into a puddle and thinking about jayvik. Even if you picked it just for the vibes, it actually fits them so well. I'll be adding all three suggested songs to a playlist and then daydreaming about them dancing together.
While writing BYSS, I actually created a playlist lovingly called "Cringe is dead", to which I added all the musics I shared with you for this chapter, plus a few other instrumental covers of popular songs. I used to listen to it a lot to motivate myself to write, and to daydream about our favorite idiots dancing while stuck in public transports. It means a lot to me that you like these songs!

You had a relatively normal childhood. Just you and your hard working mother. A woman of high standing who would bring you to fancy balls and such.
Never had a father you realized at some point. You asked and never got an answer. Then death struck and your mother was gone.
Dead in the bed beside you. The one time you slept with her and hugged her because of a nightmare.
The media going wild when it was revealed that Bruce Wayne; the prince of Gotham had another child.
The man seemed to rush to your side. Icy blue eyes that were cold and dark as they laid eyes on your. Holding a kind hand out to you which you took hesitantly.
You had a father.
And when you arrived at the manor you lost your father once again. You showed your normalcy, and your siblings shared that same thought.
Normal is what you were. Too normal.
Duke, albeit the most sane of them all was distant. Holding a secret, and in fact they all were. Duke running out in the morning was suspicious to you.
Even in the mornings he seemingly ignored you. A quick wave of the hand that deemed to dismiss you than a greeting.
Your father was distant. He didn't come up really in the morning, and when you got home from school he wasn't around. At night he completely distant.
Duke was already in bed after dinner most times.
The entire family, your siblings were distant. Most turning a blind eye to you. There was always some kind of awareness to you guys. Almost like they didn't know how to talk to you.
It took some detective work but you grew to understand the secret that they held. The secret Alfred didn't share with you. A man who was kind but was just as distant.
Never in your god damn life ever expect everyone in the damn family to be Batman and Robin and former Robins.
Dick as the older brother was warm in the beginning. It almost seemed fake, and he was nice to you. He still is but once again; that theme of distance. He was always busy, and especially most of his attention stayed on Damian.
Robin as he was called was always irrational about your appearance at the manor. After all, he was supposed to be the only blood son. It was extremely hard talking to him, and he didn't make it easy with his hard attitude.
You'll give him that you guys shared a bright conversations about animals. He caught you sketching one time and he observed it. He hadnt said anything.
You have no idea if he liked it. He made no indication he liked it, so you only hoped.
Jason Todd seemed indifferent. He was rugged and beaten down by the Joker. You two were the farthest when it came to normalcy. You grew up in some luxury and new happiness. The Red Hood; him grew up in Crime Alley and died a violent death.
This disconnection proved to be both on your sides. Neither of you knew how to talk to one another.
Tim was...Weird. He observed you creepily, while nice and he was busy. He kept a sort of distance to not let you be suspicious which you did. Sometimes you would catch him swiftly walking past your room.
Odd, but you left it alone. Once again distance and wouldn't really allow you to ask him why he was being so weird with you.
Stephanie was some you found you could easily talk to, but there was unwillingness to share. She too grew up with a hard family life, while you had something good. If there's one thing you guys shared it was daddy issues, but that was all.
You were a simple girl that was a little in high standing thanks to your mother's job. Once again the distance to share was limited. Once more there wasn't anything to share.
She and Tim were close. So she too was looking at you albeit a little different now.
Cassandra was...you didn't know how to talk to her. She stare at you with blank eyes. Observing you in a less creepy way than Tim and annoying way (Steph).
Observing and seeing how uncomfortable she made you. Making an effort but once again there was a semblance to hide things from you. Like the past she's killed people before, and that scared you. She turned a new leaf and she was strong.
Her and Bruce's relationship in particular sparked a jealous mark in your chest. The want to be held and spoke to soft. Instead you got a father who didn't speak to you and was too busy too.
Everyone, even Alfred who cleaned up their messes, was too busy for you.
To you, no one noticed your sadness and eventual departure emotionally. No more tries in talking to them, or hanging out in the living room. No more trying to help out Alfred, and no more waves to Duke who was once again rushing to the basement.
You had no idea if they knew you knew. Did Alfred know that you knew? To you it wouldn't have made a difference because you'd only get in the way.
And this power you had was scary.
You're first kiss with a boy and you could have killed him.
In the hallway of the school. With no cameras and skipping class. With the one person you understood you; that being your boyfriend.
A man that didn't neglect you. Treated you like it was normal to be normal. Who wasn't a vigilante fighting people in the streets.
Hands on your hips and pulling you close. With a smile on your face you kissed him sweetly.
And then he went rigid. You couldn't pull away from him. Opening yours eyes you could seeing his skin becoming paler and sickly. Blue veins driving up his skin.
Almost as if glue was sticking you guys together. A rushing of power going through you and you couldn't stop it. It was nice being touched like this; but no. Not this way.
You pushed him away. Your back slamming into locker and he dropping to the floor. His expression blank and close to death. You couldn't help but scream.
Just as teachers were looking what happened you ran out of the school and to somewhere else entirely. You're whole body felt different. Faster and stronger than ever.
Using your sweater you tried to cover your body in the winter weather. Tears falling down your cheeks. Pulsing lips that ached with need.
You didn't know what would happen when you got home. What would they think? If they even cared? Duke was a meta, but he knew how to use your powers. This ability appeared out of nowhere.
If you touched them then you could kill them. You didn't want that at all even if your relationships were strained.
Using your phone you could see a white stream in your hair. Touching it you felt disoriented. Confused because what the hell was even happening to you.
A ding alerted you. A text from your father asking if you were at school. Missing from the school premise. Your blood ran cold at the reveal because what could you say.
You didn't answer and only made your way home.
A home that never really was a home to you.
You would leave because how else could you live. It was obvious touch was a no no. You could kill people and you didn't want that. You only hoped your boyfriend was alive.
God you pleaded that he lived.
You didn't go through the front door. Climbing in through the window was quite easy.
Grabbing gloves, and every piece of clothing that would cover you foot to toe. You felt hot and horrible. The breeze on your skin to never touch, nor would you touch anyone ever again.
No bare skin against anyone ever.
You heard the voices of Tim and Bruce talking frantically. Your heart shook wildly. Eyes looking between the door and the windows.
"He was found gasping for life! And she was missing from class." Tim's voice wasn't quiet. You held your breath trying to stabilize it. You didn't want to be caught.
You wondered why they suddenly cared.
Of course the first time you skip class is the moment their alarmed. Not sticking to your normalcy wasn't normal for you. You were supposed to be normal.
"You think she's a meta?" Bruce asked behind your door.
"More and more people are meta. Born to normal parents but end up having powers. I always felt an inkling about her, and her mother."
"Her mother?"
"She said she died beside her. Hugged her when they fell asleep, and in the morning she was dead. That's what [ ] reported. It's why I told everyone to keep sort of a distance. It could affect us, and her too."
You gasped and back on your mouth you clamped your hand down.
Tim knew?
He figured it out before you even knew. Looking at your hands you realized in horror that you killed your beloved mother. Tears welled up in your eyes.
Sure your power was terrifying but neglecting you in a way. Starved of connection and touch from your own family. It was bitter but you couldn't blame Tim from saying such a thing.
"They haven't found her. She read my text but hasn't texted back."
That's when you knew you needed to leave. Damn footsteps rang hard on the wood. Just as you swung a bag on your shoulder and out the window the door slammed open.
Tim and Bruce calling your name as you dropped from the windows. Tears in your eyes as you dropped to the ground and ran. Running far and away from this place.
They were right to stay away from you. It made so much sense. Waking up that morning feeling more refreshed than ever and then she was dead in the bed.
It was you that killed her. You could have killed your boyfriend that most likely didn't want you anymore. You could have killed all of them.
You didn't blame them.
Not at all.
You understood why.
School was over and the day was setting. Vigilantes were out and bout soon. The Batman would be upon you and you knew it.
They knew it.
They must have.
You were going to hide, even if it got you killed. A being of an ability that only killed people around you.
Never to touch anyone ever again.
The large screens in Gotham already altering of what happened at the school. Your face plastered on it along with your boyfriend.
He survived.
Feeling betrayed he said. Scared of you, and yet saying you were the sweetest girl ever to exist.
The entire Wayne Family underfire and continous questions about you. People calling for your arrest for almost killing an innocent boy. You didn't blame them, but the feel of a cold prison isn't something you wanted.
The manor was a cold prison. No love and affection from them. Afraid of you and this power.
You wondered what Duke felt about you. He was just as distant, yet being like you. However, his power wasn't destructive like you. The slightest touch from you would cause death.
You couldn't pull away anytime it happened.
Your strive for touch was a disease, and needed to be exempt from having such a luxury.
It was night.
You made yourself scarce. At least tried too, especially when your family were vigilantes; for the night belong to them.
"There she is!" You huffed as another goon from the Penguin tried to snuff you out. You knew it was a matter of time until they found you. No doubt Barbara was on top of making sure you were found.
Tim surely wasn't.
"Come quietly." The man spoke lowly. Catching sight how all of you was basically covered. Not a lick of skin other than your face. You're also toxic too. A mocking reminder of what led to this.
"You'll die if you touch me!" You scrambled to get away. Tears flowing out of your eyes. Anxiously looking around for your siblings, or your father.
"That's what we're counting on. Not me of course; but that you have the ability to destroy anyone. Poor girl, everyone's after you."
It was true. There was no one for you and no body to save you. You weren't to be cared for. In reality, you weren't supposed to have existed. Your mother having hid your existence from your father. Then this power appeared, and then he was the Batman.
There were plenty of reasons to not want you. A monster, and a weapon as this man said.
A tranquilizer gun in his hand. A foot on your stomach and holding you down. You struggled.
If you touched him then he'd go down. But you wouldn't be able to pull away and he would die. You didn't want him to die. Surely, yes using for you reasons that were dark, but you shared your father's beliefs in a way.
This power made you dangerous.
You couldn't go killing people.
Society of Gotham already didn't like you. Wishing for you to be taken away, probably Black Gate, and held prison. Such a dangerous simply by touch was horrifying for the public.
And you caused your family pain. They were being asked questions about you. Surely they knew nothing about you because of this power.
Maybe it would be better to end it here. Get the needle of the tranq deep in your neck. Maybe then you'll die and bleed out.
However, the goddess of life and or god of death weren't on your side. Light broke up the darkness. The foot crushing your stomach was gone.
The slam of metal meeting flesh was loud. Bright lights lowered and suddenly gloved hands were holding you. Immediately however your pushed them away. Rolling onto your stomach and on your feet.
Horror in your gut.
Signal and Black Bat right in front of you. Both eyes covered, and no mouth for Black Bat.
"[ ]." Signal, no, Duke spoke to you. A trembling voice. Watching how you backed yourself in the corner of the alley.
"Go away!" You pleaded. Pulling the scarf to cover your face more. Everything to cover you more. Feeling so claustrophobic in these clothes but people would die.
Cassandra and Duke would die if they touched you.
"We found her." Black Bat, or Cassandra. Her voice proved it. It was slightly shaky as she relayed that they have had you.
You were a danger, but the tone didn't make sense to you. Why? Why was it sad and concerned.
Why did Duke step forward without a care in the world. A bright light twinkling at his fingertips. Showing you, and yet you looked away.
"Get away from me-"
"I'm just like you, and I treated you terribly. Ignoring your waves, and above all not meeting you in solidarity." His voice was shaky. You didn't want to listen, because why did he care now.
There was a reason for the neglect, and it was because you were a monster. The slightest of touch could kill him. You didn't wish for that.
"Come home." A hand pulled at your jacket. Covered arms hugging you tightly. In horror, Damian hugging you. "Stop-"
"Never. Not until your home." Nightwing, Dick was smiling. You didn't like that smile. It was something else. "No one else will get you if you don't come home, now." You shook despite the fact his haunting eyes were covered by white lenses.
"Come home?! Why would I after all-"
"I'm sorry for that. I should have been more understanding. We all should have." Along side Red Hood was Red Robin. Jason and Tim looking at you. Feeling a stare.
"We all do, cutie." You jumped in Damian's tight hold. Spoiler, Stephanie poking your cheek with her gloved finger. "Oh, don't run away from us." She giggled behind her mask.
"The old man would be sad." Jason spoke lowly. "You wouldn't want that?"
"Yes exactly." Stephanie agreed. A sly look in those eyes of her. Sickeningly sweet, and toxic.
You blinked.
Yes, you would make Bruce sad. After all, he was your father that you longed to meet. He enthusiasticly picked you up, and then pulled away because of Tim's suggestion.
"It's Red Robin's fault." Damian own hands moving and playing with a strand of your hair. The white part of your hair. "How elegant, sister."
"Stop-"
"Stop what?" Dick giggled. "We're completely sorry for how we've treated you. Tim didn't expect you to find out so soon."
"Or the fact that your power manifested like that. Who knew some teenage hormones flared like that." Tim looked at you. It was familiar and it was still that creepy look. "I'm so sorry. I should have been more forceful with the research, but i couldn't defile your body by taking DNA. I couldn't do that while you were unconscious, especially when I wasn't exactly sure how your powers worked."
Dick's covered hands moved towards your face. You shook to get away but Damian, and Stephanie kept you close. Keeping you from getting away. The strength of yours that you newly gained made you able to twist your body.
"Oh no no. Don't run away from us." Your oldest brother cupped your face. "We're family, dear sister. I've lost too many of them to the darkness. We've all bounced back, and B would cry if you left."
"So come home." Cassandra begged quietly.
"Don't make Father wait, sister."

Jungkook has no self control when it comes to you.
You are irresistible to him, he is so helpless when it comes to you. What is it about that gets him so hot and bothered, just one look at you? He’s hard.
You get him so horny without doing anything at all, you’re washing dishes? He’s mesmerised by you, with the way your hands work, the way you’re so focused on doing them.
All of it gets to him. He feels so dumb, he should feel disgusting at himself for being so horny about the most normal things you do.
It’s disgusting, but he can’t control it. You’d be so embarrassed if you could hear his thoughts, you’d leave him.
He’s so addicted to fucking you, feeling you in the deepest and most intimate way he can, your lips, your nose, your damn e/c eyes, that seductive gaze you give him.
You’re the most sexiest woman he’s ever laid his eyes on,
If only people knew just how much of a whore Jungkook is for his woman. They’d find him pathetic. He doesn’t give a single fuck though.
You are his. He could fuck you forever and he wouldn’t get tired. God, he loves you so much.
Jungkook isn’t good with words or let alone expressing his feelings out loud, he is obsessed with you, he’s so crazy for you but he is unable to express it.
Unless it’s through intimacy.
So that’s why he’s pounding into you like a dog in heat, breathing so loudly into your ear as you yelp, breathless, his large palm holding the back of your neck so you’re looking straight into his wild brown eyes, clouded with love.
“Fuck— love you s’much princess!” Jungkook confesses into the shell of your ear, his voice rough and husky, you can’t respond because the high of the pleasure is too much for you to handle. He knows your body so well.
He knows your spots.
Your man knows how to fuck you so good, you whimper, your nails scratching on his skin, he’s so strong, holding your legs effortlessly when you lose yourself into him.
He feels so good inside you. You’re sure you see stars right now.
He pounds into that spot once again and you moan out loud, digging your nails once again into his flesh. Jungkook grunts, it spurs him on more, the man is a stallion, holding you in place while rutting into you feverishly.
“S-So good, kookie!” You praise your husband. Jungkook bites your nipple and gives it a gentle pinch, driving you insane.
“My baby, fuck… love you so fucking much.” He presses his lips impatiently to yours, his kiss is passionate, swallowing your breath.
“‘m gonna fuck you so good because you deserve it baby, I love you so much.”
He is so passionate, so gentle yet rough. You could never get used to his touch truly, it still makes your skin ignite, just one touch and your body’s on fire.
“My princess.” He finally stops kissing you. “Hope you have the energy because we’re not going to sleep tonight.”

Vi could strip naked right here, right now.
And with her well known spontaneous personality, she would. Especially under the hundred degree heat that preys upon her and forces the girl’s freckled skin to glisten. But a: she’s with her siblings (enough said), and b: she’s working outdoors at the Laurier’s farm. Meaning only a handful of yards away, tucked in that blue, yellow, and white idyllic house covered with blooming botanical life, stands Mr. Laurier’s orphic daughter.
That’s all Violet’s ever heard about you, from children playing on the street to adults roaming the town shops. Ever since her adoptive father suggested she take this summer job before she goes back to focusing on her college work. Ever since her siblings and family friend jumped to tag along after Mr. Laurier decided ‘the more the merrier’.
All that’s been filling Violet Lane's ears is information about you, or, the lack thereof. How you’re always locked up in that big residence. How you used to roam the town just like any other little rascal until five years ago, at the age of thirteen, when something out of her knowledge occurred. How stunning you look in a sundress. She tried to block that one out.
“Why is it that Mylo’s drivin’ the tractor and not me?” Powder complains, pulling her clenched hand from the bag of chicken feed and tossing it on the ground for the horde to gobble.
“Last time you tried to drive something I started praying.” Ekko throws out. His bun shaped hair bobbles as he finally pulls that one stubborn carrot from the ground and places it in the basket.
“Besides Pow,” Violet starts, lifting a heavy brown box onto her shoulder and cradling it with just one arm. “You’re doin’ fine taking care of the animals. Mylo would be scaring them to death.” The pink haired girl sighed out, looking around.
Her gaze landed on the decorated porch, and she pursued. Vi set the last of the boxes down with a soft grunt before straightening her back and lifting her arms, clasped at the fingers, over her head to get a well-deserved stretch.
The worker’s completely regretting her chosen position as the door swings open, and she looks heaven right in the eyes.
You stand there in a white lace sundress covered in a juicy red pattern of cherries, a smile sweet enough to give a sugar high plastered on your stunning face. Vi’s gaze flickers down to your feet covered by red country boots. Above those are your soft looking hands holding a gift basket. When she’s done examining you, her blue-gray eyes trail their way back to yours– and it’s like whiplash. Once again, she’s blinded by those pearly whites and the tasty perfume radiating off of you. God help me, is the only phrase filling her mind because damn you’re ethereal.
“Hi there, cowgirl.” You’re going to send Vi into cardiac arrest with just your voice. Thankfully, she realizes she needs to respond, and quickly wipes the dopey grin (that she wasn’t aware she had) off of her face.
It’s not like everything is peaches and cream on your end. The girl’s tight white t-shirt is grasping onto her glistening biceps, her pretty bright eyes and the freckles that decorate her nose make her look blessed by the sun, and seeing such a beautiful yet handsome woman in a cowboy hat is doing foreign things to your stomach. ‘Wow’, is all your wandering mind formulates.
“Hi there, miss Laurier,” she copies you in her lower voice, and you notice the slit on her lip as it curls up into a soft smirk. You shake your head at her words with a polite smile, insisting she call you by your name, which you offer up. She repeats it once perfectly, claiming it ‘rolls right off the tongue’, and you crack a smile.
“My father informed me that you’re the new help around here for the summer, so I decided to bake somethin’ for the five of you.” You’re sticking out the basket, decorated with a pink bow on top, for Vi to take. She does and quickly takes a peek inside. Five snickerdoodle cookies and one large cherry pie. You do stay on theme, and so, it starts.
“Thank you, cherry.” she cracks a smile that sends a shock down your body, and gently tips her hat.
Tumblr media
Fourteen searing days pass on that farm, days filled with laughter, hard work, and the smell of life from the surrounding plants.
But not for you.
For each of those fourteen days, for the past one thousand eight hundred and twenty-five days, you’ve sat sideways in your window with your back against one side and your legs propped up on the wood. You read, journaled, book pressed flowers (that you had to sneak out front to get), took much needed resting breaks, tended to your pet lamb Daisy, and watched Footloose. Your sock-covered feet subtly shuffled side to side as if you were mimicking their dance moves in your head.
Vi watched as you sat there all those days in your open window. Half of your body out in the fresh air and half cooped back up inside like the past five years of your life. It was as if you yearned to experience life completely outside the window, but you couldn’t. And so, you completed your daily activities the furthest away you could get.
Until your eighteenth birthday came along.
“Lord, can you focus instead of stalking your ‘cherry’,” Ekko mimics the pinkett’s voice with the last two words, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.
“Bet she wants to pop her cherry.” Mylo snickers at his own joke, earning a slap to the nape from Claggor.
“Last warning Mylo. Don’t talk about her like that.” she replies firmly, furrowed brows making a little scowl.
Claggor shakes his head softly, letting the tension between his siblings diffuse before speaking. “You know, you should do something other than just stare at her all day. It’s getting sad.”
“Like?” the cowgirl responds with crossed arms.
“Ask her to hang out, obviously.” Powder pipes up, petting a sheep as she prepares to guide it inside the barn. “She’s always lookin’ so lonely. Swear the only time she smiled this past week was when you complimented her on those blackberry muffins she baked us.”
“You know she’s not supposed to come out, Laurier said so. Pretty sure that’s why she stays upstairs, can’t even come out on the porch when we’re here no more.” Violet huffs.
“You think he thinks we’re a bad influence on her?” Ekko ask in confusion. Because truth be told, no one knew why you stayed locked up in that bright house, like a princess trapped in a tower. People knew better than to ask your father, and of course, they couldn’t get to you. Maybe it was time for someone to be your knight in shining armor.
“Doesn’t matter, he’s not even here right now.” Mylo insists.
So, after a long back and forth conversation of weighing the possibilities, Violet’s shoved over to the shrubs in front of your second story window. You notice her when she’s there (you’ve been sneaking glances at her every so often), shifting your position so that you can look down on her as she calls out your name.
“Afternoon, cowgirl,” you coo, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
“Hey there, angel,” she simply replies with that signature smile, and your hands clench the frame you’re leaning on a bit tighter. “We’re done with the chores for today.”
“Oh. Well, get home safely.” you hum, eyes dropping in what Vi hopes is discontent, because her next words will cheer you right up.
“Actually, we’re not headed home just yet. The five of us are headed out into the woods over there for a little.. chat." The glowing sunlight illuminates her face as she nods her head to Mylo, who’s allowing the brown paper bag to peek out of his backpack and into your vision. Alcohol. “Would you wanna come with us? Won’t take up too much of your time, I promise.” she asks with a cool voice but a pounding, fearful heart.
No.
Or at least, that’s what you were supposed to say. It’s what you’d normally say. As much as your ill heart ached to connect with others, as much as you wanted to venture out of your home, as much as this strawberry-haired helper made you want to explore new things you’d only ever seen in movies, your answer always had to be no.
But, unbeknownst to the others, today was your birthday. You had cautiously lived another year, and instead of feeling fulfilled, you only wonder how many you have left.
You wanted to live, not survive.
You stared in contemplation before backing up, shutting the window and rushing out of the girl’s sight.
Vi dropped her head down to the shrubs in front of her. It’s over. She blew it.
“You scared her!” Ekko teased, making the girl whip her head around to show an angry stare. But the displeased expression faded faster than it formed when the creaking of that back door met her ears, and Powder gasped in joy and disbelief.
“Lead the way.”
Tumblr media
The walk along the trail of the woods to a more secluded area with cut wood stumps as seats was anything but quiet. Powder was talking your ear off about everything mechanic she worked on, treating you like you were from the middle ages rather than just sheltered. Claggor and Mylo were leading, causing the group numerous wrong turns and unplanned ‘shortcuts’ (they’d gotten lost along the way). Vi walked with Ekko on her left, quietly pumping her up and giving her the confidence she’d need to ‘make her move’.
But despite the various noises, she couldn’t hear anything. Because strolling to her right was you, the girl she’s been infatuated with since first glance. She’s trying to be discreet, examining the way your hair falls, your scent, the way you press your lips together in thought before answering a question. It took the platinum blonde boy next to her elbowing her side before she came back to the real world.
“I call first sip,” Powder squeaks, to which Violet scoffs, making a quip about how she’s only sixteen and scolding anyone who attempts to offer her the bottle. The bluenette brings up the fact that the others aren’t even the legal drinking age either, but it’s shut down because ‘an adult is an adult’.
“We’ll bring a juice box for you next time.” Mylo smirks, taking a long drag from the bag before offering it out to you.
Despite the soft urge, you shake your head, because you know your limits. Your heart’s limits. Despite the fact that you’re ignoring the sweatiness of your palms and feeble limbs.
Mylo hums. “Two juice boxes, then.”
“Mylo–” Vi scolds, finally coming out of her trance.
But her anger is cut short at the sound of a hearty chuckle coming from your mouth. And it’s the first time Vi’s ever heard you laugh. Genuinely laugh. It’s enough to bring stars to her already-bright eyes.
The conversation continues as the sun and clouds pass by. Eventually, the others are in a heated debate about the best character in some film you’ve never heard of, leaving you and Violet to shyly shift your attention towards each other.
“I’m glad you came. I noticed you.. don’t get out much?” Her tone is the gentlest it’s ever been.
“I’m glad you invited me.” You easily avert her indirect question. It eats you alive, the want to tell her everything about you. How you have a “bad heart” as your father gently put it, and now you live your days mundanely so as to not risk triggering anything fatal. But the desire to live just one day in normalcy is stronger, and so you change topics.
“You have very big muscles. I like them. Is that why you do most of the lifting things rather than herding cattle and such, like other cowgirls?”
Vi feels her cheeks get toasty at the compliment and your almost-awkward forwardness. But you can’t help it, you’ve hardly had conversations with anyone but your father the past few years, let alone a handsome girl so close in age. It doesn’t matter much though, because Vi loves it.
“Not a real cowgirl. I’m only good for lifting what others can’t.” She chuckles a bit. “I just happen to own a horse— and I wear the hat of course… maybe the belt’s a little cowgirl-like too, but that’s all.”
You smirk because that makes her a cowgirl in your book, but you politely hum and say nothing.
The girl shifts her position to turn towards you more, and you swear your heart stops when one of her manspread knees leans against your crossed ones and makes no attempt to move. She examines your behavior, and when she sees the ghost of a smile on your lips, she leans on her opened legs slightly to get more comfortable.
“So what do y’ do in that big house all day, angel? Must get lonely.”
These nicknames are doing terribly good things to you.
You hum. She’s completely correct, but the last thing you want is for her to pity you. “Bake a lot, shop in the catalogs, watch movies, write in my books.” You shrug. “Oh,  and I take care of my Daisy girl.” A smile graces your perfect lips.
“That your dog? Never seen her around,” she asked with questioning brows.
“No,” you giggle, sending Vi into heaven. So beautiful. “It’s my lamb.”
A beat passes before she responds, a glint in her eye. “So I should be calling you Bo Peep?” she jokes.
You laugh, knocking your knees against hers in playful scolding. Simple words, simple touches, a simple gathering that may be day to day life for anyone else in the town. But for you, this was the best thing to happen in years.
“Daisy’s a sweet name, matches her sweetheart of an owner.” she compliments you, and you graze your hand over your heart because you can’t decipher why it’s speeding up. “We sound real rugged compared to you. Our dog’s name is Rusty. Powder ch–”
“Hey!”
A deep, raspy voice calls out from behind you. A few of you whip your heads around to see the source of the noise, whereas others stand out of shock as the man comes into your sight. “What are y’all doing on my property? Get over here!” He’s moving quickly towards the group, and Ekko’s the first to move his feet.
“Time to go,” Vi says hastily, standing. Without thinking, she takes your hands and pulls you to a stand. “You a good runner?”
No. I don’t know. I haven’t had anywhere to run in years.
That’s what you should’ve said, but as stated earlier, a life of normalcy for today. And so, you lie.
“Sure– yes, yes.”
Vi nods at that, tightening her grasp on one of your hands as she rushes to exit along with the others. Your hands stay intertwined as the pair of you dash through the greenery, avoiding unfriendly hanging branches, jumping over logs, and ducking under leaves.
You’re terrified. The same glistening sweat that forms in your clammy hands makes another appearance on your forehead. A prickle crawls its way up your throat, and suddenly you’re hacking into your elbow as the cowgirl guides you close to her body while you near the edge of the woods. Your little red problem pounds against your chest as if it’s begging you to stop, to give up before it does, but you can’t.
The man moves quickly, but he’s no match for adolescents of the countryside. By the time you reach the fields of your farm, he’s nowhere to be found.
Powder’s hollering and cheers of victory sound broken, doubling and distilled, coupled with a soft ringing sound and pressure around your head that only grows the longer you stand. The only thing you can hear clearly is your quick panting. That deep red blood is draining from your head and blazing heat is left in its place.
A blurry and distant Violet comes into your impaired vision, and you feel the soft sensation of her cupping your face with worried hands. “Cherry?”
Your mind’s swirling with thousands of sensations, and your terrified breaths grow increasingly shallow until you can’t fight to stay awake any longer, falling into the arms of Vi. There’s yelling, someone scooping you up into their protective arms, orders being thrown around as you’re rushed towards the house, then silence. Complete and utter silence.
Tumblr media
The female lead is on your screen twirling and rolling her hips with glee for the third time this week, and you wonder if you'll get a chance to dance like that.
It’d been three days since you fainted after running from the farmer down the trail, three days since you’ve seen Violet (or any of the farm helpers), and three days since you’ve felt that inexplicable warmth in the pit of your stomach.
While you rendered unconscious, Vi and the others scrambled to get your limp body inside. They laid you out on your bed, arguing about whether or not to call for help, because they had no clue what was wrong with you.
Of course, you woke up a couple minutes later as you always do. You were confused and terrified, but strictly instructed to rest by the friends who promised they’d stay until your father arrived. Fatigued even more than normal, you complied.
When your father arrived home an hour later, he stumbled upon Powder placing an ice pack on your sleeping head, Claggor and Mylo pacing the room in worry, Ekko attempting to research what exactly would have caused your current state, and Violet looking sick to her stomach as she cradled your soft hands in her rough ones; praying to whoever’s up there that you’d be fine.
Needless to say, once they’d confessed to leaving for the woods and running back (leaving out every bit alcohol related), he’d been beyond furious, placing you on total lockdown for recovery and demanding the helpers avoid the farm for a couple of days. After you’d gotten your medication in you and recovered after a full day of rest, he chewed you out too. ‘You know I’m just trying to keep you safe.’
But you didn’t want safe anymore, you wanted life.
And Violet walked right through your front door. Literally.
The pinkette runs a hand through her fluffy hair before securing the cowboy hat back on her head. Her eyes are searching the house for the kitchen when they land on you, and a wave of relief washes over her.
“Hi, angel.”
Your heart speeds up, and this time, you don’t need to question it.
“Hi Violet,” you coo shyly, standing from your comfy position on the couch and making your way over to her, hands clasped behind your back.
She wastes no time cradling your face in her calloused fingers, the pair of your soft breaths filling the silence as the girl looks over you, finishing her personal assessment before swiping a thumb across your cheek in gentle comfort.
“I was so worried about you,” the whisper fell from her lips without shame.
“I’m fine, really.” you speak in the same tone, leaning into her sweet hand.
“No, you’re not.” That catches you off guard. “When your father saw what happened he panicked, said something about your heart and thought you were…” she let your mind fill the blank with a glint of pain in her blue-gray eyes. “You wanna tell me what’s going on?”
Your eyes drop to the floor, and before you have time to think about it, you speak. “I’m sick. The bad kind of sick that doesn’t just go away after a couple days.” you can’t look her in the eyes as you speak, just placing a finger to your chest. “I have a ‘bad heart’, as my father puts it. Don’t have a lot of energy, can’t do much without getting too overwhelmed, dizzy spells and such..”
You expect to see a crack in Vi’s sweet eyes, a sign of distaste, of regret for caring about a broken girl, but her gaze only softens and a tender hand moves a piece of hair from your face.
“That why you’re cooped up in here?” she asks, even though she knows the answer. You nod.
It’s silent for some time, and the two of you enjoy the other’s presence in such a milestone moment.
“I have somethin’ for the five of you,” you finally speak, pulling from her affectionate grasp. She nods, wiping the worry she feels in the pit of her stomach away so that she can be there for you. You stroll into the kitchen with the cowgirl behind you, opening and rummaging around the fridge as she takes a needed seat at the marble island.
She looks over your attire. A big bright red sweater hangs off your shoulders that covers your shorts, and a white bow in your hair that brings a smile back to her face.
You turn back around, setting down a tiffany blue cupcake platter and perfectly made white-frosted cupcakes with a purple design in the middle. You then pull out some tupperware, transferring cupcakes into it as Vi speaks.
“They’re Violets,” she says in surprise and you giggle, only nodding your head.
Marry me she thinks, before coming up with something more plausible to say. “Is this what you’re studying in college? You're gonna be a chef or somethin’ angel?”
You pause before barely shaking your head. “Not goin’ to college this year.. my father says I need a gap year before ‘making any big decisions’,” you scoff, because the truth is he just can’t let you go. “Worries me though. He won’t go out and buy me any textbooks or anything, I’m gonna go stupid.” you whine.
Vi presses her lips together, clearly sharing your discontent with the situation.
“Well, I know you’ll do great when you go. There’s already a strong brain in that pretty head of yours,” she grins.
A smile forms against your will as you look up at the girl.
“You think I’m pretty, Violet?’
She responds quickly, like the words spilled out of her heart rather than being formulated in her head. “I think you’re gorgeous. Whoever’s up there took their time making you.”
Comfortable silence ensues as the room’s filled with pounding hearts and warm faces of passion. Finally, you finish packing up Vi’s cupcakes and place the box in front of her. She thanks you, looking to the side in thought before an idea flickers across her face.
The girl rises, lifting the hat from her head and leaning over the marble to place it atop your surprised head. She doesn’t wait for your reaction as she picks up the cupcake box and a wooden crate from the ground (what she should’ve been doing in the first place). “Keep that safe for me until tomorrow, cherry.”
“But isn’t tomorrow your day off?” you ask, flicking the front of the hat so it’s above your eyes.
“Yeah. I’m coming to see you tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
The sun couldn’t set and rise fast enough.
You waited in so much anticipation that you woke up an hour earlier, practically shoved your father out of the house with his breakfast, and spent any extra time at a mirror fixing an out of place hair or switching your outfit for the fifth time.
You don’t know why you do– why you care so much. But before you can think too hard on it, the sound of someone pulling into your driveway blesses your ears and there’s six soft knocks at the front door.
And so it starts with you and Vi seated on the floor between the couch and the coffee table. Your backs lean against the lower portion of the soft matter, and Vi pulls out a book. Four books, to be exact. One for each core subject.
You furrowed your brows in confusion, looking from the pile of literature to the fluffy haired girl.
“I was thinkin’ I'd bring some textbooks to you since you can’t get ‘em yourself. I’m in my second year now so I won’t be needin’ these ones anymore.” She somehow speaks with both suave confidence and warm-faced fear in unison. “We could make it a thing, y’know. Preparing for classes together.”
“Yes!” You speak with starstruck orbs.
Violet laughed with relief, because if she had to be completely honest, that wasn’t the only reason she was here. She didn’t need this time to prepare, maybe a quick refresh before the year started, but she definitely didn’t need to be studying during summer. But if it gave her a chance to connect with you, she’d study until her brain burst.
The helpers’ off days were Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So that’s when Violet would pack her books, hop in her truck, and haul ass to your farm. Each session was the same. You’d start out in comfortable silence reading your separate texts and answering questions or jotting notes down, then Violet would make a stupid joke about a picture in the book or get sidetracked by your bookshelf of dvds in front of her, and minutes later the room would be filled with fits of laughter, fuzzy brains, and your books completely discarded.
“‘Dirty dancing’? Damn cherry, your father know you watch this stuff?” Vi grins, sliding the movie case back into its spot along the brown wooden shelf.
“It’s not that kinda movie, Violet. It’s like.. set in the sixties.” you huff, holding back a smile at her playful words. The pinkette takes her seat next to you on the couch, manspread legs and a cunning smirk just inches away from your face.
“And what exactly is ‘one of those movies’, doll?” she teases.
You scoff.
“I’m sheltered, not stupid.” you play, a soft hand coming up to push against the girl’s arm.
Something flickers across the pinkette’s face before suddenly, she’s on top of you.
You’re pushed onto your back against the plush couch as pure muscle weighs above you, powerful hands swirl at your waist before your laughter fills her ears and your hand shoots out to grab at one of her arms. The pair of you struggle for power, pushing back and forth, twisting bodies, and yelling out competitive quips.
Finally, you smush the palm of your hand against Violet’s face, momentarily stunning her before the stronger girl grabs both of your wrists and pins them right above your head.
Soft panting and awestruck eyes decorate the both of you. The air is tighter, every inch of your body is suddenly aware of your positions, and no words are exchanged as you savor the feeling of her touch. God you feel weak, but you don’t know whether to place the reasoning on Violet or your heart.
Violet’s about to lose it, because with the way your sweet eyes are trailing up her body to her face, her heart is clear.
She wants– no, craves you. Bad.
It’s quiet for a moment longer before Vi clears her throat, reluctantly letting go of your wrists while moving back to stand.
“We deserve a study break.” the cowgirl hums, crouching and examining the lower levels of the bookshelf.
“We haven’t even been studying,” you throw back and fix your skirt while sitting up. Vi finds the record she’s been searching for, pulls it from its sleeve, and adjusts the player.
“Okay smart ass, we deserve a break.” she grins and the stylus hits the circular item.
A soft, sensual song makes its way through the air. It’s older, a woman singing softly about her lover’s perfection, and you warm at the thought of a special someone fantasizing about you to the tune.
Vi stands in the middle of the spacious room, and when you don’t move she waves her arm. “C’mere.”
You stand (a little quicker than you should’ve), and make your way over. She wastes no time, gently moving one of your hands to her shoulder and intertwining fingers with your other. As for your free hand, she tenderly places it on your waist, looking for any discomfort in your face. All she’s met with is big eyes of wonder and god, she’s screwed.
“Just follow my lead.” she’s speaking sensually under the music, thumb rubbing at your waist.
“Oh please, I could dance circles around you.” you quip.
“I’m sure you could, doll. But it’s a slow dance, so we work together.” Your bodies move closer as she speaks, making you smile and lose the sassy attitude for a moment. Just a moment.
Angelic vocals encase the two of you. There are only sounds of that and gentle side steps before you speak once more.
“Did you know it was my birthday?” You stare straight into her eyes.
“Wait, what?”
“The day we went to the woods. Is that why you asked me to come? Because it was my birthday?” you tilt your head.
She blinks twice before huffing a laugh. “No, I didn’t know. This mean I made you faint and get in trouble with your pops as a present?”
You smile to yourself at the coincidence, holding her hand a bit tighter.
“Have you danced with someone like this before?” she asks.
You shake your head before pausing. “Well, once with my mother, but I was very little.”
Vi’s eyes soften a bit more. “Is she..?”
You nod. “It happened when I was eleven. She had the same problem as me, that’s why he’s so protective.” Your voice is soft as you refer to your father. “I understand him, I really do, but I’m just so tired of being separate from the world.”
The girl can only nod, the hand around your waist snakes around to your back and pulls closer until your bodies are almost plush against each other.
“Thank you for trusting me with that,” she whispers. And suddenly, there’s soft giggles. You’re laughing because the tough, suave cowgirl you know can be such a sap.
Your laughter dies down and you shake your head before placing it between the crook of Vi’s neck, softening into your sappy cowgirl. “Talk to me about something good,” you hum.
“I’m takin’ you out on a date Friday.”
Your eyes widen and you pull your head back to look her in the eyes.
She stammers and mentally groans because you’re the only one who could ever make Violet Lane stammer. “Well– if you say yes.”
No.
That’s what you’re supposed to say, and what you should say. Not because of your father’s influence, not for your safety, but because you’re afraid. Afraid of the trouble you could get Vi into, of dealing with the unknown, but most importantly you were afraid of hurting her.
While you aren’t bedridden, your life is fragile, and the thought of being a burden to Vi was heavy and present. How long could she stand you until she got tired of your neediness? How long until she’s tired of hearing about all the things you can’t do? She’s spontaneous, reckless, fun, and you thought she deserves to end up with someone just like that. Someone you’re not.
But right now, you want her, and she needs you, so you give her what you can.
“Of course,” you agree with a genuine, toothy smile, and the pinkette sighs of relief.
The song finally comes to a stop.
Tumblr media
For the first time, you’re glad your father works all day long, because there’s no way you could sneak someone as loud as Powder around your house.
Her squeals of embarrassment and your laughter echo from the kitchen throughout every room of your home. Your canvases and paints are neglected as you point an accusatory finger at a message on her screen. A message from ‘Ekko <3’.
“I knew it! The way you talk to each other– ‘Oh Ekko! You’re just so smart,’” you mock her, making the girl’s face change colors faster than you’ve ever seen.
“I do not say things like that!” She yells back, making you giggle harder. “And we aren’t dating.”
“Why not?” you whine. You clasp your hands as if a plea is about to fall from your lips when a ding rings throughout the room. You look down and gasp. A message from ‘Lux <3’.
You pause, eyes flickering to the girl. “Do you have everyone saved with a heart?”
She shakes her head.
“Just those two?”
She nods.
“Oh, this is just like the movies!” Your laughter repeats like a loop. The girl groans at you and moves her phone to the other end of the marble countertop. “I’m kidding– awhh, Powder!”
She shakes her head. “This conversation is all the way over.”
It takes a moment for your giggles to die down, and soon you’re nudging the bluenette’s shoulder with yours gently. “You’ll make the right decision, just don’t waste time overthinking it. Follow your heart.”
She raises her eyebrows, picking up her paintbrush. “I could give you the same advice.”
You scoff out a laugh, gaze landing on your taunting medications in the corner of a counter. “My heart is fighting itself. Wants two different things at once. Certainly can’t have both.”
“Then follow your mental heart, not your physical one.”
You pause, brows furrowing as you look at her with suspicious eyes. “Did Violet..”
Powder shakes her head before you can finish. “No. She can keep a secret, especially for you. I connected the dots on my own,” she shrugs, swiping an electric blue line across the clean canvas. “Y’know, the meds, how protective your father is. Once, on one of your bad days, I looked through a window and saw you sitting down a third of the way up the stairs looking all dizzy and breathless. You fainting just tied it all together,” she hums.
You burn holes into the ground with your utterly ashamed gaze.
“I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, but you should live the life you want rather than being trapped in one you yearn to escape. And you can count on that big baby to protect you.” You let out a little laugh, nodding at the younger girl’s sweet words.
“Oh yeah, she wanted me to give you this. Dummy forgot it yesterday.”
Powder sets the brush down and rummages around her tote bag that lays on the counter, pulling out a tiny black velvet box and handing it to you before turning back to her self-proclaimed masterpiece.
Your heart swells in the best way possible, and you flick open the little clasp to reveal a thick golden ring with two red dots and a green leaf in the middle. It’s accompanied by a small white note with bright red writing.
‘Happy birthday, cherry.’
Tumblr media
“I knew they were together!”
You stare out of the windows of Vi’s truck into the town square. Your gaze is fixed on Miss Medarda and Mister Talis, who are sitting suspiciously close to each other on a bench near one of the decorative fountains.
Vi fixes her dark brown hat as a laugh escapes her. “No way, he’s always chatting up this guy– one of the professors at U.P.” Vi refers to her college, and it takes you a second to understand.
“His hand was on her thigh, Violet. That was pure romance.”
Vi pauses, seemingly focused on the road ahead, but the lightbulb look behind her eyes that appears makes you think otherwise. “Yeah, yeah, we’ll see who’s right.” she jokes after remembering she hadn’t responded.
Vibrant sunlight hits almost every inch of the truck and illuminates the town that passes by as the pinkette turns down a road surrounded by greenery. You spin the gifted ring on your finger once, then twice, out of nervousness. It’d been years since you left your house for anything but the doctor’s, let alone a date. A thousand and one possibilities whirled through your mind, but were quickly flushed out at the sound of Vi’s voice.
“I see you got your gift,” she smiles, eyes flicking away from the road down to your ring and back. “I like how it looks on you.”
She was skilled at putting up a flirtatious and unbothered front, because on the inside you had her absolutely melting. Out of all ten options, you chose to secure her gift on your left ring finger.
You’ll be the death of her, no doubt.
“It’s perfect,” you look over to her with hearts in your eyes. “Thanks, cowgirl.”
She nods, eyes flickering back down before she takes her right hand off of the wheel and down to thumb the end of your shorts. “I like these too, real damn pretty.”
You giggle, and somehow the swarm of butterflies in your gut doubles in size, because instead of returning to the wheel, the girl’s hand is delicately placed onto your inner thigh. Her calloused hands gently cup your skin, and she’s grateful you can’t read minds because she’s terrified of your potential reaction.
You can’t fight the smile that crawls its way onto your warm face. The only thought that runs through your mind is how this is even better than the movies.
“Well I hope I’m dressed well enough for whatever we’re doing today. Wish you woulda told me.” You finally reply, softening under her touch. You swear you hear her let out a little sigh of relief.
“That’d ruin the surprise. I’ve gotta wow you.” she sends you a wink and your laughter fills the car with joy.
It doesn’t take long until you’re pulling into the driveway of Violet’s house. It’s beautiful, all brown and white with flowers out front that Powder planted herself, high school graduation yard signs, and fresh open space. Still, a panicked look sets on your face.
“Wait, wait, Vander’s gonna see me– he’ll tell my dad,” you stammer.
Vi cuts the engine, gently taking a hold of your chin to redirect your gaze as she speaks reassuringly. “Hey, hey. He’s not here you worrywart, won’t be home until late tonight.” Your eyes soften and you sigh. “Besides,” she starts, “we’re going over there.”
Just past the house is a matching white and brown barn-esque building. Stables.
Tumblr media
“She’s so big!” you yell with awestruck eyes as Vi pulls the red roan out of the stables by the lead. “What’s her name? When’d you get her? Wow I’ve never seen one of these up close, mama was afraid of ‘em and my father doesn’t ride.” You speak at rapid fire making Violet snicker.
“Slow down,” she instructs, standing between you and the hairy beauty. The girl takes your hand, placing it on the horse’s shoulder, giving you the okay to pet. “Her name’s Gunner, she was my fifteenth birthday present, and I can’t imagine your pops getting anywhere near a horse.” You playfully hit her with your unoccupied hand.
“Gunner,” you whisper, “badass.”
Vi chuckles, because swearing sounds so foreign to you.
“You ready?” She asks, slipping her black riding helmet on your head.
“Wait, what?”
“You think I brought you here just to stare at her?” she smirks, completely mesmerized by your face while tightening the straps of the protective gear. “We’ll go slow this time, I promise. Okay?”
The promise of this happening again makes your heart flutter, and all of the gears in your brain stop spinning before you respond, “Okay.”
She helps you onto Gunner, patting the small of your back before hopping up right behind you. Her warm arms snake around your waist and grab hold of the reins in her hands. Her muscular front is smushed against your back, her head placed inches to the right of yours.
“Now, gently squeeze his middle with your calves,” she instructs.
You obey, and the red roan begins its walk. It’s slow, peaceful, but such a new experience to you that a sweet gasp of surprise falls from your lips.
The two of you sit in silence, appreciating the comfort of each others’ presence and warm golden light shining upon you as the beauty of nature captures you. In the green pasture of Vi’s fields, you feel like you’re breathing for the first time in five long years.
Gunner simply walks for a few minutes as you point out pretty flowers that you pass and Violet mentally compiles a bouquet for you. Vi’s talking about her years as a kid in this field. When she’d lost (and found) her favorite toy bunny out here, or dared Mylo to walk through the vast field at the dead of night. Suddenly you’re begging to see some baby photos.
It’s at this moment that everything’s easy. Vi’s admiring everything about you with eyes of love when–
Gunner’s neigh sounds like a shriek of terror when three birds zip past, spooking the roan into a 180 and bolt away before Vi can make it out of her trance.
You yelp from the sudden change in speed, almost slipping off of the animal, but Vi’s there to keep you securely fastened against her as she takes control of it. Just as fast as it changed, Gunner’s speed slows to a stop. You can feel just how tense Vi is as she speaks.
“Shit. I’m so sorry, doll. She gets spooked so easily and– god, I’m sorry for scarin’ you.”
It’s silent for a moment. The scariest moment of the pink haired girl’s life, because she can’t see your twinkling grin that spreads from ear to ear before you laugh.
“That was so cool!” you beam, leaning forward to pat at the horse. “Not so badass though, huh?”
After a few more apologies and you repeatedly telling Vi that it was fine, you two decided it was best to turn in for the day.
You sigh, sitting against the short wooden fence. “I wanna rest for a minute, that okay?” ‘I need to take a rest, I don’t have any energy’ is what you actually mean, but you choose not to worry her.
She wastes no time plopping down onto the grass next to you, eyes raising to the baby blue sky. She gives you a few moments of silence, sneaking glances at your face every so often, before speaking.
“Powder and Claggor were talking about how awesome it’d be if we took you to a Seraphine concert. Think you’d like her music a lot.” she hums, smiling to herself.
“And one day, I'm gonna take you line dancing so we can settle our little debate once and for all.” Her grinning face is inches away from you and her overpowering scent of amber and musk ensues.
“Oh really?” Your voice is soft as your head turns, looking Violet up and down with half-lidded eyes. “I think..”
You quickly mount Vi’s lap, pushing the girl onto her back and pinning those muscular arms right beside her head with both of your hands. You’re both all giggles and grunts, and even though there’s no way you’d stand a chance against her in a real tussle, she lets you win.
You lay there, one atop the other in a field of colors. The tension is so thick that not even a knife could cut it, and your grip softens when tender hands reach up to cup your face, a thumb stroking your cheek. The sun, her hands, her sparkling blue eyes, and the love radiating between the two of you has you all but melting. You’re leaning down, inching closer each second, and just before Vi’s dreams come true, you stop.
You pull back with newly glossy eyes, dismounting the girl while whispering apologies that get lodged in your throat. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
You want nothing more than to connect your lips and hearts, but you were so afraid. How long until she resents you? How long until it’s over? You’d grown accustomed to heartaches, but never heartbreak.
But Violet craves you more than plants crave water, she needs you more than the Earth needs the sun. You just don’t know it.
“Hey,” she whispers, sitting up and holding your chin as if routine. “Look at me, angel.”
You comply with built up tears that threaten to stain your cheeks.
“You don’t have to apologize for something like that,” she consoles, never looking away from your softened eyes. “We can go as slow or as fast as you want, okay?”
You wipe your tears with the side of your hand, choking out your words. “I just– I don’t want to disappoint you.” I don’t want you to hate me once I’m gone.
“Disappoint me?” She stiffles out a laugh. “You don’t know how bad I want you. But I’ll wait until the end of time if you ask me to, hell, I’d lasso the moon and bring it down if you wanted.”
That makes you sniffle and let out a breathy laugh, bringing Violet some relief. The girl slowly inches forward to make sure you’re completely okay with it before placing a warmhearted kiss to your forehead. It’s quick and simple, but causes an eruption of butterflies in your gut. Soon, your troubles are forgotten.
“Let’s get you home, yeah?”
Tumblr media
“What’d I say about keeping this door open?” Vi raises a brow, leaning against the doorframe as she stares at an unbothered Powder who’s doing her mascara, and a flustered Ekko.
“Must’ve been the wind.” Powder mutters.
“She wouldn’t listen!” He raises his hands in innocence from his position on a neon pink beanbag.
It’s silent before the three burst out in laughter, and Vi’s shaking her head as they catch their breath.
“Hurry up though, we’re gonna be late to Laurier’s.”
“Not today, Vi.” Vander’s voice bellows from behind her, making her turn her head with furrowed brows. “He gave the five of you a day off.”
A smile graces Ekko’s lips and Powder is whooping in the back, but Vi’s lips drop into a subtle frown.
“Awhh,” Powder coos, “poor Vi doesn’t get to see her girlfriend today, how ever will she live?”
The teens snicker, but the pinkette notices the uneasy look on his face, the one where he has something to say but just can’t spit it out. “What?”
The burly man runs a hand across his beard with a sigh.
“His daughter.” The entire room pauses. “She's terribly ill today, bedridden. He’s staying home to watch over her so there’s no need for far–”
Vander doesn’t get to finish his explanation, because Vi’s pulling the keys from her pocket and rushing past him towards the front door.
Tumblr media
It takes almost running three red lights and a long, torturous talk with your father about being able to speak to you just for an hour, but at your bedroom door stands Vi, taking off her hat to look at you with big worried eyes. “Cherry,” she calls out.
You feel absolutely horrendous.
Your breaths are shallow, your ankles feel swollen beyond belief (you thanked god Violet couldn’t see them from under the blanket), and your eyelids weighed a thousand pounds, threatening to drop from fatigue.
“What’s going on? What can I do?” she asks, wasting no time walking over to your pretty bed and taking a seat right next to you.
You shake your pillow-elevated head, laying on your side to face her with a soft smile. “Can’t do anything, it’s just a bad day.” You reach a hand out to grab her calloused one and intertwine your fingers. “Just glad you’re here.”
“How’d you get past my father?” you whisper, relaxing into the soft matter.
Vi huffs out a laugh, readjusting to lay down as she speaks. “Convinced him that I’m extremely knowledgeable in this area because I’m studying to be in the medical field. So he thought it’d be fine if I watched over you while he feeds the cattle.”
You giggle with a teasing look. “Oh yeah, what have you learned?”
“Cherries are good for the heart,” she says all ‘matter of fact’ like. “They have potassium and antioxidants to reduce inflammation.”
“I should be the one calling you cherry, then.” You hum. You don’t know how much it means to Vi to hear that she’s ‘good for you’.
It’s quiet again, and you spend time shamelessly looking over every inch of the girl’s face, landing on her powder-blue orbs. “You know, your children would have some beautiful eyes.”
“And yours would be beautiful all around,” there’s not a trace of doubt in her voice. “What would you name them?” She asks and throws out silly names as you look around in thought, “Batman? Lice? Maddie?”
“How is Maddie as bad as those names?”
“I just don’t like it!”
Your giggles fill the room before you shake your intertwined hand. “Maybe either.. Josie or Clementine? They sound.. warm. Safe.”
Vi nods, pulling you closer into her chest and draping an arm over you that cradles your back, “Josie it is.”
Your ears burn as you nuzzle into her. “And we’ll live in a big pretty house in the city, surrounded by noise and culture and life.” You wished so badly.
“We?” Vi asks.
“Me, Josie… and you.” You look up at her with the last of your body’s strength. “If you’ll join us.”
That spark in Violet’s stomach has grown to a full fire heating her body. Her dream girl’s lying in her arms, talking her ears off about their hypothetical future together, all while looking up at her with pupils blown wide as if she’s your knight in shining armor.
“Of course,” she agrees, “but we’ll have to bring Rusty and Gunner along.”
You snicker with a nod. “Sounds perfect.”
There’s a glint in the girl’s eyes as she trails her hand up your back to the soft skin of your face. “A pretty house, an adorable daughter, my rascal animals,” you let out a weak laugh, “and my pretty girl to share it all with.”
Your heart skips a beat. “Yours?” you tease.
“Yeah, mine.”
She’s tracing meaningless patterns on your neck with one hand while tucking a piece of hair behind your ear with the other. And god, whatever this feeling is it’s too good, too sweet, too sensual. Your waiting lips are slightly agape in awe, and it doesn’t take long before Vi whispers, “Can I?”
This time, ‘yes’ is the only word that pops into your brain and slips from your mouth as Vi’s lips crash into yours.
Her lips are melting into yours with so much intensity that it’s hard to keep up. You let her take the lead while your scents, minds, and tongues mix together in a bundle of passion. Her grip around you never loosens. Fingers thread through your hair, and her slightly chapped lips dread leaving yours, because your kisses are the air she needs to breathe.
A whine falls from you when she reluctantly pulls away from your sweet mouth, placing four chaste kisses on your cheeks, nose, and forehead.
“You need to rest,” she coos, peppering your forehead with another (much needed) kiss, and keeping the close proximity as her arms wrap around you. There’s no argument, because the adrenaline rush from her kiss is wearing off and that wave of exhaustion snakes its way back.
There you lay, bodies intertwined and souls tying as the sound of Vi’s healthy heartbeat lulls you to sleep.
Once you’re out, you stay sound asleep as Vi hesitantly leaves your bed.
You stay sound asleep as she trots downstairs where your father places weights of guilt upon her, claiming he knows you two have been sneaking around, and it’s her fault you’re in this current state.
You stay sound asleep as he demands she doesn’t return to the farm, permanently.
Tumblr media
With every inch of your worn down heart, you hate Violet Lane.
And while deep down you know that’s not the slightest bit true, you still act like it.
When you woke up the next day, the birds singing and a beaming face as you skipped downstairs to hug your father good morning, the last thing you expected was to hear the all too confusing news that Vi had quit. Along with the rest of her siblings and friend just an hour after.
Unfortunately, you were none the wiser, and slowly sulked up the stairs and sank into your bed where you cried yourself back to sleep.
For the first couple days, it didn’t make sense. The way she looked at you with those big puppy dog eyes, her tender care, the ways she spoke to and about you, it all seemed so real. It had to be real.
On day three, you decided that acting was just one of her many skills.
By day four, you had it figured out, or so you thought. Vi was a flirtatious asshole who wanted nothing more than some street credit for kissing the untouchable, locked up, sick princess right under her overbearing father’s nose. Coming to and believing such a conclusion felt like a stab in the side, and the knife only twisted when you factored in the fact that the others must’ve known about this, which is why they left alongside her.
You thought you’d become accustomed to all of the heart pains in the world, but you were wrong.
Tears fell from your eyes like a waterfall until they grew dry, your baking pans yearned to be used but were shoved away into a cabinet, and what hurt the most was knowing your father was right for keeping you locked up all these years. You weren’t free, but you were safe.
Finally, on day five, you’re engulfed by the plush matter of your couch when there’s six knocks at the door and someone’s calling out for you: “Cherry?”
You scoff at her audacity.
When you storm over and yank open the door with the meanest glare Vi’s ever seen from the prettiest girl she knows, you’re met with Ekko leaning against your white picket fence with his arms crossed, Powder standing next to him with a worried face, Claggor and Mylo relaxed against Vi’s bright red truck, and said truck-driver right in front of you looking absolutely sick.
And you slam the door right in her backstabbing face.
“Seriously?” Vi huffs out, earning a stifled laugh and whistle from Mylo.
“Go away, Violet.” You yell through the door, voice the sternest she’s ever heard.
“Fuck no. What’s going on?”
“Why don’t you tell me?” you counter, back pressed against your barrier. “You got all that you wanted from me, and then you quit and disappear from my life. So why are you back, huh?”
You’re lucky you’re packed with pent up anger, because tears are bubbling in the corners of your eyes and yelling is the only thing keeping them from spilling over.
“What?” the pinkette's completely taken aback, because she has no clue what you’re on about.
“That’s not–” she sighs, lowering her voice before speaking. “I’ll never get enough of you. I’d take a thousand kisses and so, so much more if you’d let me, but that’s not why I see you, angel.”
Your eyes soften and hurt brows furrow because damn, she’s a good actress.
“And I didn’t quit. That afternoon when you fell asleep, your old man practically dragged me out of your house and fired me. Said I caused your symptoms to worsen. I thought I’d lay low for a few days– and believe me when I say these were the hardest days of my life, but I didn’t want to get you in any trouble.”
Your bottom lip is bitten red until you finally cave, creeping the door open just enough to show your face.
“You promise?” you ask, and Violet’s heart is aching.
“Cross my heart.” she replies.
That’s all it takes for you to swing the door open and jump into her arms. She stumbles back in surprise before applying the same force, arms wrapping around your waist as she melts into yours cradling her neck.
You’re sniffling, taking deep breaths before you speak. “Really thought you left me,” you croak out.
“You’re not getting rid of me that easily.” she teases, placing a tender kiss on your forehead as you giggle and blink away tears.
“Now go get changed, we’re going out,” a grin tugs at the corner of her lips when your happy eyes make contact with hers. You blink, an idea flashing across your face, before pulling her inside by the wrist, yelling “just a minute!” to the others, before hastily shutting the door.
Tumblr media
Violet’s eyes graze over every last atom of your body as your hips sway in front of her, babbling with Powder about who knows what, because she hasn’t been focused since you dragged her into your bedroom ‘innocently’ needing help with your outfit.
She stood in your doorway curiously, thinking she’d only be there for a second, maybe you’d never been to a rodeo and needed advice.
That was, until you paused at your walk in closet, a cheeky smirk on your lips that Vi desperately wanted to taste as you nod your head towards the bed. “Sit.”
And she obeyed, manspread legs at the edge of your bed as you walk infront of her with a few items on white hangers. All frills, lace, denim skirts and shorts, and Vi’s reasonably concluded she died and went to heaven.
“I could wear..” you shift the hangers around, “this with this skirt, or maybe these shorts and.. ooh, these boots match my panties.” You get a rise out of seeing the usually suave girl short circuit at the words that bless her ears. Definitely in heaven.
But Vi came to the realization that she was, in fact, alive. Because her heart truly stopped beating when she helped you settle on your pieces, threw her a sugary sweet “thanks, Vi,” did a casual 180, and stuck your ass out to drag your skirt down painfully slow.
Oh, those boots do match your panties.
Now here you stand in a lacy red top, denim shorts that have her thanking god for your creation, and matching cherry red cowgirl boots that graced her eyes the first day you met.
Neverending chatter fills your ears from other attendees, the overwhelming scent of kettle popcorn from a nearby booth stuffs your nostrils, and you see Ekko nudge at Vi, saying something that you can’t hear over the bluenette beside you talking your ear off about the stunning horses she sees.
Suddenly, Vi’s walking up to you and smushing her hat onto your head with her famous smirk. “Keep it safe for me, doll?”
You nod mindlessly, a hand coming up to fix its position on your head.
“Where ya goin’?” Powder calls out to the platinum blonde boy who’s ushering Vi to hurry up.
“Our annual face off,” he throws her a wink, and the girl’s rolling her eyes with a playful scoff.
Before you can even ask, she’s locking arms with you and dragging you along to an even more crowded area. There’s various groups of people surrounding a blocked off area containing a big, black, circular inflatable mat. And directly in the middle is a mischievous brown mechanical bull.
“Are they..” and your question is deemed useless when Ekko mounts the hairy machine, pumping his hands up in motion for the crowd to whoop and holler. Of course, they do.
Ekko does good, to say the least.
One hand grips the bull while the other is thrown up into the air as the machine thrashes him and his white locs every which way. The intensity increases as it tauntingly speeds up, thrashing harder, and spinning recklessly. Finally, he’s bucked off, rolling to a stand and flashing his pearly whites as the crowd cheers.
A giggle falls from your mouth as your hip nudges Powder who’s in complete awe, and she warms in embarrassment.
Vi and Ekko fake tension, sending joking competitive glares as they switch places. Now it’s the pink haired cowgirl that’s mounting the mechanical animal.
You never thought you’d be admiring this sort of thing, but Violet’s never fails to twist your stomach in knots.
With a hand gripping the bull and the other resting on the back of her head, she bucks her hips back and forth to counter the thrashing machine. She’s focused, her sculpted muscles flexing as she holds on tight, but a cocky smile is plastered on her face with teeth biting down on her rosy lips.
Surrounding girls (including yourself) are wooing at the sight.
Vi makes it through the most chaotic shakes and spins as the bull finally comes to a controlled stop, and you’re cheering louder than you ever thought you could.
“Woo! Hell yeah!” you cry out. The girl’s cheesing harder than ever when she hears your support, and the smile lasts all the way over to a fake booing Ekko who rolls his eyes and slips her a twenty dollar bill from his pocket.
You and Powder unlock arms to move over to the riders. A chuckle of amusement spills from you, and you’re securing Violet’s hat back over her fluffy hair. “That was real impressive, cowgirl.”
“Yeah?” she coos.
“Yeah.” The atmosphere grows heavier, each of your eyes searching the other’s like there’s treasure to find. But your little staring contest as Claggor speaks.
“Earth to lovebirds,” he hums politely. “You coming?”
You’re quick to nod, but Vi gently holds your wrist, making you pause. “Actually, I wanted to show cherry around some more. Catch up later?” She asks, but she’s already pulling you away before Claggor nods in agreement and the group goes in the opposite direction as you.
You speed up, feet coming into step with the girl who’s needily pulling you. Her silent prayers are answered when she spots a more secluded area behind a building and some fences.
“Vi,” you snicker, cheeks warming in nervousness, “what are we doing?”
She hums through half lidded orbs, hands finding their place on your hips and hastily pushing you against the wall that covers the two of you from the eyes of others. You’re looking up at her with the sweetest glint in your eyes and it’s driving her absolutely mad.
“You said I was real impressive, right?” Her voice is smoother, breathier.
Ohh.
You tilt your head, teeth chewing on your abused bottom lip before you mutter. “That’s right.. think you deserve a reward, huh?”
“Exactly what I was thinkin’, sweetheart.”
The newfound nickname is sending a shiver up your spine that transforms into a blazing warmth when Vi’s lips fit into yours like puzzle pieces. This time, messy limbs are thrown over each other. Your hand travels from her hands that are cradling your heated face, down to her abs (making her shiver as you scrape your nails across), to tangle in what pink locks aren’t captured by her hat.
A strong hand makes its way around your waist, pulling you dangerously closer to rub against her body. God, she’s good at this.
“Vi..” you’re finally able to whisper as she trails kisses along your jaw and down to your neck. You can feel her smirk against the area where she peppers you with affection.
And it’s perfect.
Not just the way she’s kissing you, or the fact that you’re kissing at all. It’s the environment, the feelings, the friendships that you’ve made with the others, the fact that for today, you’re living a normal life. It’s the fact that for a moment, you can cheer on your friends in a competition, you can lock arms with a friend and woo over others, you can get lost in passionate kisses with a girl and not have another care in the world.
You wished it could stay this way forever.
You lose all sense of shame, letting a soft grunt slip from your lips at the feeling of teeth and a ‘pop’ on your neck. It’s only a matter of seconds before both of your eyes widen and Vi’s pulling back with a crooked smile on her face.
“Did you..”
She wordlessly eyes the red-purple love bite forming on the back-side of your neck, just below your ear.
“Violet!” you drag out with a whine, sending her into a soft fit of laughter. She feels guilty, but you’re just too cute.
Tumblr media
You have a love-hate relationship with the neon lights that are beaming throughout the spacious room that brings more noise than you’ve heard in the past five years– maybe more than your entire life.
On one hand, the flashing colors are starting to give you a major headache. On the other, the red glow that decorates Violet’s face as she grins down at you has your insides doing summersaults.
Nevermind. You love the lights.
“C’mon y’all,” Powder calls out with a chipper expression. Ekko’s standing properly in line and his blue haired companion, who’s already freestyling, spins out of control and squeals up a storm.
“You ready?” Vi’s words kiss your ear as she holds both of your hands, pulling you out to the dance floor.
“Are you?”
Your sass has her laughing, and she brings her tongue out to wet her bottom lip. “Follow my lead, cherry.”
And for a few moments, you do. All of the surrounding crowd dances the same to the upbeat, fast-paced country song that pierces your ears, so you replicate Vi’s mixed steps and cute little head tilts with her hand on that chocolate hat.
But then the song changes, it’s more passion filled and fiery. All it takes is Powder spinning out of line and shamelessly making her own moves before you’re formulating the steps in your head. From movies you watched religiously to mindlessly shuffling your own feet late at night, you danced for the little girl who longed to have fun, who longed to be free.
You’re clicking the heels of your boots against the ground, moving your hips as fluid as water, and bringing your hands up just for them to slide down your sides with a heart-stopping smile tugging at your lips.
Violet’s in awe, because her girl’s fearless and full of smiles, and she couldn’t be happier for you.
And there’s no doubt in her mind that this is the only girl she’ll ever want, need, crave.
She whistles, looking up and down with the most amused expression you’ve ever encountered. “Jesus, alright you win, doll.”
“Yeah?” The tease comes out a bit breathless, but you play it off as dancing too wildly.
You look at the pink haired beauty through thick lashes. Inching dangerously closer as you sway, Violet’s hands have a powerful hold on your soft waist. You stumble over your feet once, then twice, and she notices.
“Slow down there cowgirl,” she chuckles, but her gaze is tender under the carefree mask. “You alright?”
It’s unbearably toasty in the room, and you feel two times hotter with each passing second. But you don’t want it to end, so you wave her off, throwing out an “I’m good!”
But you’re not, and it’s evident on your face when the small ‘headache’ turns to tight pressure smothering your scalp, and you’re losing your balance as you search for an exit.
“I just need some air,” you mumble, turning your head. The room shifted under your feet, vision blurring in a haze. You took three measly steps forward, and on your fourth, you crumbled.
Your body gives out under you, and Vi’s right there to catch you when it does. Her arms snake around your waist to hold you up before she lifts you in her arms with big eyes and wavering lips.
“Shit. Ekko, come here! Powder, go get Mylo and Claggor.”
The five haul ass to Vi’s truck, the pinkette tossing her keys to Ekko as he and Mylo hop in the front. She, Claggor, and Powder take seats in the bed of the truck. When you finally come to, your back is laid against Vi’s worrisome chest, and you get the fresh air you were looking for from the speed Ekko’s driving to get you home.
But when you pull into the driveway of your home, there’s already a car waiting for you, and there stands your father with his arms crossed and pure fury in his eyes.
And you’re in so much fucking trouble.
The others attempt to plead your case, in good ways and in bad, as the man scolds everyone in sight.
“Mister, we just went out to dance.”
“She’s not a child you know, you can’t keep her cooped up here forever.”
“Please just understand.”
Everything goes in one ear and out the other, because in the chaos silently sits you and Violet. You’re still breathless, and this headache is gonna last longer than you want it to, but you relax into the warmth of Vi for one last time.
You pull back, ignoring the spike of pain that flashes across your brain, and turn to the girl with a tight lipped smile. “I’m sorry, you guys should just go.”
She looks pained, like she wants to say something, she wants to help. But she nods, placing a chaste kiss to your temple just as you’re sliding out of the truck bed and over to your father. He hastily drags you inside while you bid farewell to your moping knights.
Tumblr media
With every inch of your worn down heart, you love Violet Lane.
And you’re not an idiot, you’re sure she loves you too.
That’s what makes coming to a conclusion impossible on almost every level.
Your physical heart says this is the most idiotic decision you’ve made in your entire life. You’ve had worse symptoms than normal, you’re putting yourself in danger in the name of ‘fun’, and the thought that’s lingering in the back of everyone’s mind is one you can’t ignore: just how long will you make it?
Your mental heart says this is the best thing you’ve ever done. You’re happy, you’re in love, you have real friends, and you’re finally starting to see the point in living. Not just from a tv screen or the books your father supplies, but through your own eyes and experiences. And even though your father seemed overbearing, you know he’s afraid. He’s taken on all of the worry and stress so that you don’t have to. If you wanted something to change, you had to take the leap yourself. But you’re not sure you can.
There’s six knocks at the door, and you stay seated in your position on the couch. “It’s open,” you call out.
The clack of familiar boots enter the room, and a wave of musk and amber suffocate you when Vi walks past you to sit at your side.
It’s silent. Not your comfortable, daydream filled state of silence that Vi could watch you in forever. It’s awkward, strangulating silence, and she can’t take it.
“Yesterday was..”
“...amazing.” “A mistake.”
You speak at the same time, eyes flickering at each other's response.
“What are you talking about?” Vi asks, setting her textbooks down. You don’t miss the newfound waver in the back of her voice.
You don’t respond. You don’t want to go through with this conversation.
“..Is this about the hickey?” she flashes a strained smile, “I’m sorry if he saw it, doll. Reall–”
“This isn’t a joke, Violet.” you finally speak, eyes strictly trained down on your fiddling hands in your lap. The tears are bubbling at your eyelids and that itchy, sore feeling is crawling its way up your throat.
“Then what is it about? You and your dad? Look, I can talk to him, I’ll make things right.” Her voice is increasingly wavered, desperate, scared.
“Our–” you inhale a shaky breath, “– this, us, whatever we are is an inconvenience. An inconvenience to my father, an inconvenience to my health, an inconvenience to you.” Your voice breaks with the last word. “I’m a burden Violet, face it.”
You can’t see it with the tears blurring your vision, but Vi’s shaking her head in horror. “No. No, what are you going on about? You aren–”
“God just face it, Vi. All you wanted was to love a girl and you got a defective one.” You spit the words out like they sting on your tongue. “Soon, you’ll be annoyed by everything I can’t do and bored of everything I can.”
“Maybe we’re just not…” you can’t continue as silent tears transform into quiet little sobs.
Vi’s heart aches as she kneels down on the floor in front of you, examining your now puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. She wants nothing more than to kiss the pain away, but first she has to fix that worrisome little mind of yours.
One hand intertwines with your anxious ones, and the other reaches up as rough fingers delicately hold your chin, a soft thumb rubs back and forth against your cheek. She whispers out your name with a voice that’s holding back sadness of her own. When you’re finally ready to look at her, she smiles delicately.
“You don’t know how bad I want you. But I’ll wait until the end of time if you ask me to. I’d lasso the moon and bring it down for you if you asked.” You recognize her sweet words from your first date, and you’re weakly melting into the palm of her hand that’s sliding to cup your face.
“I meant it then, and I mean it now,” she whispers. “I will never be annoyed by what you can or can’t do– god, I'd sit here and talk to you about slugs all day everyday if that’s what you really wanted.” That has you scoffing, fighting back a smile at her silly words.
“Love isn’t about the activities you can or can’t do, it’s about a connection, our connection, and what we do with it. So, you can get rid of me if this is all true and that’s what you really want, but I will never stop loving you.” She’s speaking so sweetly, and before she even finishes her sentence you’ve made up your mind.
“You’re good for my heart, cherry.”
Those are the last words she can get out before you’re throwing yourself forward and locking lips with the love of your life.
It starts off slow, soft, an apology for the rollercoaster of emotions and blunder of nonsense you put yourselves through. Then, Vi’s hands are cupping your face and the back of your head while yours are thrown around her neck. It’s needier, sloppier, and her tongue slipping into your mouth shows it’s moved from an apology to ‘let me make you feel better’.
You hum into the kisses with pleasure, but you wanted more. Needed more. Without hesitation, you slip a hand under Vi’s tight t-shirt, running a hand up and down her abs.
The action sends a shiver down her spine, and you gasp in surprise when the sculpted girl wraps your legs around her waist and lifts you into her arms.
You’re giggling as she walks up the stairs and into your bedroom. Your litter smooches down her jaw and to that neglected neck, mimicking what she’s done for you. Vi slips a hand under the back of your shirt, making you hum into her neck at the warmth.
Pop.
A devilish grin graces your angelic face when you pull back, eyes flickering from Violet’s to the bruise on her neck.
The girl grins, catching your mouth in a wet kiss. “You’re asking for more, y’know,” she warns, and her lustful eyes are turning your brain to mush.
“Good. I want more. Need you all over me,”
Your confident words are canceled out by a sweet gasp that leaves you when Vi bucks her hips.
“You’ve gotta say it then,” she orders.
“Say.. what?”
She chuckles. “Tell me what you want, baby.”
You swear there’s a pool of slick in your underwear.
“Want you to fuck me till I cum, please please please,” you beg, hiding in the crook of her neck.
“Fuck,” is all she can choke out, because she’s never wanted wanted a girl this fucking much. Your begging is all she needs to hear before she’s stripping you out of your top, unclasping your pretty bra with one hand, and flipping you over onto your back.
You’re throwing your head back with a soft moan, running a hand through her pink strands while Vi latches onto one of your rock hard nipples. Her hand trails down your abdomen and to your pretty little skirt. The fabric slides down your legs and off your delicate ankles, and the girl’s gawking at your panties.
“Vi, please please,” you moan in impatience.
She lets out a cruel chuckle, fingertips pulling down the fabric that’s completely drenched by your arousal.
Holy fuck.
She’s moving faster now, pulling her shirt over her head, and you don’t have a chance to drool over her bare muscles as she sits against the headboard of the bed and pulls you back by your hips into her lap.
Your back’s pressed against her chest, and she pulls your legs apart making cool air attacking your lips. One arm hooks under your knee and holds tight, making sure you stay perfectly spread for her.
“Suck,” she whispers, and two of her calloused fingers are shoved in your mouth. You swirl your tongue around the nubs, letting drool pool around them as Vi looks down at you like she wants to ravish you.
“Wanted to touch you like this for so long.”
Her fingers are dragging out of your mouth and down to your sensitive slit to your swollen clit. You’re already messily bucking your hips against her as she pushes soft circles against your bundle of nerves.
She relishes in the way your eyes roll back before she decides she’s done being a tease, sinking her wet fingers into you three full knuckles deep.
“Violet– holy fuck yesyesyes,” you whine, quickly closing your legs at the newfound pleasure. But Vi’s pulling them right back apart as she pumps into you faster.
She peppers kisses on your temple, whispering sweet nothings about how you’re ‘so damn pretty’ and she’s been dying to see your ‘fucked out face’.
“Yeah, oh fuuck.” you squirm under her control, a knot of passion and pleasure building in your gut.
“Yeah? Yeah, baby?” She speaks breathily. The way she’s mocking you and the depth her fingers are reaching is sending you right over the edge. Your toes curl while writhing pleasure shoots through your body, and all you can see is stars.
“Fuck fuck, I’m– hah,”
Vi’s shushing you softly, keeping her speed and strength as your cunt tightens around her fingers.
Your moans are like angels blessing your ears as you cum, gushing on her skilled fingers.
The only noises in the room are your exhausted pants, the slick of your cunt as Vi pulls her fingers out terribly slow, and the bed shifting under the absence and reappearance of pure muscle.
Except this time, the pinkette’s knelt in front of the bed.
She pulls you to the edge by the soft skin of your thighs, and piercing blue eyes joined by a warm pink tongue threaten to have you wheel-chair bound by morning.
“Let me clean you up, angel.”
Tumblr media
Despite being near nothing but muscle, Vi’s bare body is incredibly comfortable.
“And he made a giant splotch of paint on the wall with his ass.”
You gasp, choking out a little giggle of shock as Vi tells you stories of her childhood, specifically all the stupid situations they got themselves into. The just-right bath water is engulfing your intertwined bodies. Vi’s fingers are threading through your hair as your head rests on her shoulder. Your body sits in between her legs, and your arms lazily drape around her waist.
“How mad was Vander?” you ask.
“He just… laughed. I’ve never really seen him mad, just disappointed at times.” She shrugs. “He knows kids make stupid mistakes, learn, and grow.”
You hum, nuzzling further into her. “I hope I’m that calm when I’m a mom,”
You pause.
“If I’m a mom.”
That strikes right through Violet’s swollen heart, and she shakes her head, holding you a little closer.
“You’re gonna be perfect.” She reassures. “Josie.. Gunner.. Rusty, Daisy, and our big beautiful city house are going to be so lucky to have you. I’m so lucky to have you. Never gettin’ rid of me.
You smile against her skin, placing a loving kiss.
“Even if it takes ages for my pops to understand?” you mutter.
“I don’t care if it takes a millennium.” she states confidently, a tender kiss graces your forehead before she looks you in the eyes.
“I love you, cherry.”
And this time, you’re done holding back.
“I love you, Violet.”
Your fingers, hearts, and lips intertwined as you share your most passionate kiss yet, one of the many for years to come.
Five years, to be exact.
And five years later, as the blood refuses to circulate throughout your body and your heart ceases to beat, you die in Violet's arms.
Through her sobs and shattered heart, she can only smile at the fact that all the way until your death, she helped you truly live.

very niche drabble from my drafts but honestly i would die without posting anything new in a day so i hope y'all will like this and see the vision LMAO, will have different parts <3 since lyra have pointed it out, just saying now that the reader is the cashier :D
isekai'd as game protag nerdjo x isekai'd as saintess npc reader, fluff.
Tumblr media
the sunlight catches in your hair again.
satoru doesn’t mean to look. really. he doesn’t. but it’s kind of impossible not to when it glows like that—when every strand shimmers gold in the light of the descending sun like threads spun from divinity itself. it’s almost offensive, honestly. like the devs knew exactly what they were doing when they coded your idle animation to lean forward with a hum and tuck a loose wisp behind your ear just so.
he shifts his weight from one boot to the other, arms crossed, mouth tight, trying to look casual and not like he’s completely entranced by the way the snow melts before it even touches you.
he shouldn't be staring. he shouldn't want to.
because he already has a crush.
back home—real home—there’s a girl who works at the little corner store where he always buys his merch and energy drinks and plastic gacha keychains. she wears cute earrings. remembers his name. slips extra digimon stickers into his bag when she thinks he’s not looking.
he can’t seem to recall what she looked like, probably because of this whole isekai thing but he was sure about one thing. he was going to ask for her number, eventually. probably. maybe. someday.
but still he could not peel his gaze away.
you’re kneeling by a bed of bluebells—early bloom, thanks to your passive skill, blessing of spring. soft petals brush against your fingertips as you gently trace the outline of each flower, humming a song he’s pretty sure isn’t in the game’s ost. a small smile plays on your lips. the world around you feels alive in a way it never did when he played this on his old console—birds chirp too realistically, snowflakes glint too sharply, the wind carries your voice just enough to tease at the edge of his hearing.
and he’s just standing there. holy sword at his side. cape slightly crooked. heart lodged firmly in his throat.
“you’re staring again,” their rogue probably says behind him. maybe it’s their archer this time. he doesn’t hear. or rather—he refuses to.
because how the hell is he supposed to focus on defeating the demon king when you smile like that?
he’s the hero now. the chosen one. satoru gojo, level 99 celestial knight. maxed-out stats in everything that mattered: strength, speed, light magic resistance, charisma so broken it’s been nerfed twice since launch. and yet here he is—still taking psychic damage from the way your lashes flutter when you blink at him.
he’s been here for weeks ever since dozing off in a middle of some cutscene. isekai’d straight into his favorite game—celestial hearts: divine war of fate—which was absolutely not supposed to be a dating sim. it was about strategy and honor and battle mechanics. not about feelings or pretty saintess girls in glowing white cloaks and soothing voices who keep patting his head when he looks tired.
“sir gojo?” you say gently, glancing over your shoulder at him, smile soft and patient.
your eyes catch the light and sparkle—sparkle, literally sparkle. like someone turned the shader settings all the way up just for you. “you look flushed. are you feeling alright?”
“y–yeah,” he says, cracking audibly. god. why did his voice do that. he clears his throat. straightens up. resets his face to what he thinks is a neutral, knightly expression. “must be the sun. y’know. too hot.”
you blink. your lips part in polite confusion, and you glance up at the sky.
“but it’s snowing.”
“…right.”
his hands twitch at his sides, fingers flexing restlessly in his gloves. damn this game. damn the developers. damn their incredible, stupid attention to detail. your hands—bare, of course—hover over the flowers again, cupping one like a tiny offering. your sleeves fall past your wrists, white and gold embroidery catching the breeze. he knows your bio by heart: “saintess of the divine spring, miracle maiden of light,” the usual npc flavor text. maxed healing. high affinity scores. probably a tragic backstory somewhere in your questline.
but none of that mentioned how your laugh sounds like windchimes strung across heaven’s gate.
“sir gojo,” you say again, standing now, brushing imaginary dust and flower petals from your skirts. your movements are dainty, practiced, but your brows draw slightly inward with genuine concern. “you’ve been standing still for a while. are you sure you’re not overheating?”
his cape flutters awkwardly in the wind. his fingers go rigid. he can’t even blink.
girl. please.
he opens his mouth. closes it. opens it again, as if maybe this time something normal will come out.
“maybe i’m…” his voice trails off as he wills his brain to function. “overheating from your… divine radiance?”
the words leave him like a spell miscast.
a pregnant pause.
then—your eyes go wide. your lips twitch. and you laugh.
not a dainty giggle this time, but a laugh. soft and delighted and surprised all at once, curling from your throat like a melody no bard could replicate. you lift your sleeve to hide your smile, cheeks faintly pink—not blushing, no, the game probably just coded you to respond to compliments with a heat shader—
he’s going to die.
he’s actually going to drop dead right here in the middle of a flower field over a non-playable character.
somewhere deep in the forest, a bowstring snaps with unnecessary violence. someone—probably the mage—lets out a strangled, exhausted noise of pure despair.
satoru barely notices. he’s busy fighting for his life.
you’re still smiling at him. the wind rustles the bluebells. your hair glows like god’s personal sunbeam. the scene is perfect. it looks like a damn cg cut-in. he expects text to pop up any second with your name and some sappy line like “i’m glad you’re here, brave knight.”
but instead you just say, softly, with an amused little tilt of your head, “you’re strange, sir gojo.”
“i get that a lot,” he mumbles.
and somehow, impossibly, you smile brighter.
he has to beat the demon king. return to his world. back to traffic, vending machines, anime reruns, and microwaved curry. back to a life without hand-drawn skies and snow that melts against your skin and the way you say his name like it’s a blessing.
but you’re looking at him now like he’s the one glowing.
and satoru thinks—maybe. maybe just a little longer.
a few more days of fumbling compliments, of you laughing at his dumb jokes, of trying not to combust every time your hands brush his.
a few more days of your soft voice calling him “sir gojo” like you don’t even realize you’ve already enchanted him more deeply than any demon ever could.

somewhere between yours, and his
chapter one — what we don’t talk about ☆ chapter two — half-truths and jungle juice
chapter summary. jake throws a party. you throw on a dress. jungwon starts to spiral. sunghoon starts to see you. — there’s liquor. there’s smoke. there’s a room you never meant to end up in. and by the end of the night, the boy who thought he had time is realizing…he might be too late.
pairing. jungwon x reader x sunghoon.
warnings. heavy smut in this chapter. usage of drugs and alcohol.
genre. college!au, angst, fluff, slow burn, smut.
themes. love triangle, messy relationships and decisions, love or lust?
authors note. things are starting to heat up … aren’t they?
Tumblr media
you don’t usually do all this.
the lashes. the body oil. the 360 lace frontal that took you three youtube tutorials, two edge brushes, and a silent prayer to get just right.
you’re a throw-on-some-sweats-and-hope-for-the-best kind of girl. you always smell good—doesn’t that count for something? you don’t have the time. or the energy. or the wardrobe.
but tonight? tonight feels like it needs something extra. not because of anyone in particular. not because of jake’s cousin and his face carved from god’s sharpest cheekbone.
not because of jungwon and the kiss that almost happened.
not because your heart’s been doing something weird in your chest ever since.
just… because.
you haven’t felt pretty in a while.
not cute. not passable. not “you clean up nice.”
pretty.
you look at your reflection, lip gloss in hand, lashes just a little too dramatic, edges laid with precision.
you’re not doing too much. but you’re not doing nothing, either. the dress is short. black. soft in a way that hugs without suffocating. you smell like citrus and money, even though your bank account says otherwise.
and for once, you feel like the version of yourself you only see when no one’s watching.
the music is already loud when you open the door.
low bass, party voices, and that faint smell of liquor and cologne that only happens when men are trying to impress someone.
you step out, and every single conversation in the room takes a half-second too long to resume.
jake does a double take, cereal still in his hand like he wasn’t just yelling about body shots two seconds ago.
jay’s mouth parts, eyebrows lifting like you just hit a high note no one expected.
sunoo lets out a low whistle and goes, “oh, we really partying tonight, huh?”
they’re not being weird. not creepy. just surprised. in awe. like you’ve been a background character this whole time and suddenly stepped into the spotlight.
“damn,” jake mutters, blinking.
you laugh, but it’s a little breathy.
you can feel eyes on you. not just theirs.
and then you find him.
jungwon.
he’s standing near the speakers, red cup in hand, dressed in all black like he wasn’t trying but somehow still looks so fine.
his mouth is slightly open. he blinks slow like his brain is buffering.
his eyes trail down—your face, your dress, your legs—and back up again like he doesn’t quite believe you’re real.
he doesn’t say anything.
neither does sunghoon.
he’s leaning against the wall near the kitchen, one hand in his pocket, his eyes locked on you like he’s watching something unfold.
his face doesn’t change. not much.
but you catch the twitch of his brow. the way his eyes linger a little too long. the way his jaw flexes once before he looks away—slow, deliberate.
you feel like an animal in a glass cage.
not in a sad way. just… observed. like the lights flipped on too fast and everyone forgot how to act.
you know you look good. that’s not the issue.
it’s the way they’re all looking at you like they just realized it. and maybe that’s the problem.
you shift your weight, let your hand rest on your hip. the room is too still. too charged. so you break it.
“we taking shots or what, pussies?”
jake barks out a laugh from somewhere near the speakers, and just like that, the moment snaps back into something you can manage.
“because why are y’all looking at me like i just landed here from another planet?” you say, stepping into the kitchen. “i know i dress down most of the time, but damn. do i need to start popping out more often or what?” you shoot back, already reaching for the shot glasses.
you pour with intention. one, two, three. slide them across the counter without even looking.
you don’t ask if they want them. you know they do.
“this one’s for you,” jake says, clapping sunghoon on the back. “welcome to… whatever this is.”
“whatever this is” being your house, your energy, your people. your life.
everyone cheers. the shot burns in a good way. you’re about to rinse the cups when jay’s voice cuts through the music.
“yo,” he says, looking at you funny. “i was just thinking…”
you raise an eyebrow. “that’s dangerous.”
“nah, for real,” he says. “if we’re trying to convince sunghoon we’re not lame, shouldn’t you make that drink?”
you blink at him.
“what drink.”
“you know the one,” sunoo chimes in. “the one that had us spiritually ascending at that one pregame.”
you pause. laugh under your breath.
you think about that night—sunoo crying over a bluetooth speaker, jake laying on the floor like the universe betrayed him, jay talking to the bathroom mirror like it was a therapist.
you smile. “y’all are lucky i love you.”
they start hooting like they’ve already won.
“i’ll make it,” you say, pulling bottles down one by one, “but only for us. i’m not playing bartender for this whole house again.”
as you start mixing, you feel someone move in behind you—close, but not too close. the energy shifts.
“you want help?” sunghoon’s voice is quiet. smooth.
you don’t turn around right away. you know it’s him.
“you trying to help, or you trying to hover?” you ask.
“can’t it be both?”
you finally glance back. he’s leaning against the counter, one hand in his pocket, the other gesturing to the bottles like he’s about to start something with it. his hoodie sleeves are pushed up just enough to show his forearms, veins catching in the light. his face is unreadable—but his eyes aren’t.
he looks at you like he’s already decided you’re interesting. you haven’t even started talking yet.
you’re about to respond when jake pops up again, clapping once like he just remembered something.
“fuck. we never rolled up.”
“bro, you always say that,” jay groans.
“no, for real—sunoo, jungwon, come help me. it’ll be faster.”
“how?” sunoo says. “you just want company.”
“nah, i need hands. come on.”
jungwon hesitates. you feel it more than you see it. you don’t turn. but you know he’s watching. you can feel his eyes burning into the back of your neck like a warning.
you don’t move. neither does sunghoon.
and when jake starts dragging them down the hall, jungwon doesn’t fight it. he follows. slow. quiet. glancing back once like maybe he missed something.
but the thing is—you’re still right here.
and sunghoon hasn’t moved at all.
jungwon doesn’t mean to look back.
he tells himself he’s just making sure no one forgot anything. that he’s being polite. aware. something logical.
but he looks anyway.
and there you are—your back to him, pouring something into a cup, laughing softly at whatever sunghoon just said. your hand grazes the counter. sunghoon’s leans just a little closer.
it’s nothing.
it’s not even a moment.
but it feels like one.
he doesn’t hear whatever jake’s saying about rolling techniques or blunt wraps. his chest is full of static. too loud, too tight. like something important is happening and he’s not supposed to be part of it.
he doesn’t think anything specific. there are no words. just heat. just pressure. just this awful, heavy feeling that you’re slipping further away.
“so what’s in this drink?” sunghoon asks, standing just close enough for you to feel the question against your shoulder.
you don’t look up. just smirk and drop a handful of fruit into the pitcher.
“can’t tell you that,” you say. “i’d have to kill you.”
he huffs a little laugh through his nose—just enough to surprise you.
you glance over and see the way his mouth curls, eyes lit up more than you expect from someone with a face that cold.
cute laugh.
noted.
weird thought.
ignore it.
you keep pouring, handing him the ice tray without asking.
“help me out,” you say. “just dump a few cubes into the mixer.”
“okay. show me how you do it so i can steal the recipe later.”
“you won’t get far,” you say, tipping the bottle with one hand, catching the rhythm like it’s second nature. “this isn’t a recipe. it’s intuition.”
“oh. you’re one of those.”
“one of what?”
he shrugs, sliding the ice into the cup without dropping a single piece.
“vibe mixers. no measuring. no notes.”
“exactly,” you say. “just vibes and chaos.”
he chuckles again. quiet, low. it’s not flirty yet. but it’s getting there.
“you a senior?” he asks, resting his elbows on the counter like he’s been here before. like he’s comfortable. like he’s not just visiting.
“junior,” you say. “we all are.”
“what’s your major?”
“psych.”
he raises an eyebrow. “oh. okay, so what am i thinking right now?”
you squint at him. “that was weak. be more original.”
“nah, i’m serious,” he says, fighting a grin. “i’m opening up. this is me being vulnerable.”
you fake-think for a second, stirring the mix.
“you’re thinking, ‘i didn’t expect her to be this cool.’”
he laughs—real this time.
“that’s crazy.”
“what?”
“that you’re right.”
you blink once. look away.
okay.
maybe a little flirty.
you pass him a spoon to taste the mix.
“go ahead. make sure it doesn’t kill you.”
he sips, then licks his bottom lip slow. nods.
“nah, you might actually be dangerous.”
you smile, but don’t give it too much.
“what about you?”
“engineering major,” he says. “i was at big college in seoul. transferred to ucla when we moved.”
“engineering. wow.” you lift an eyebrow. “you do have that mysterious ‘i fix things and then disappear’ energy.”
“i fix things and then disappear?”
“yup.”
he laughs again, quieter now. the kind of laugh that makes your chest feel a little too soft.
you look down at the counter. this is fine. it’s just a good conversation.
“how’d you end up living with them?” he asks, tipping his cup at the hallway where jake and the rest disappeared.
“me and jake took intro to psych together freshman year,” you say, grabbing another bottle without thinking. “he would’ve failed if i didn’t carry the group project.”
“sounds about right.”
“he owes me his life. so naturally we’ve been best friends ever since.”
you shake the drink. he watches your hands.
“after that, i met the rest of them through him. dorm life was getting too loud, too tight, too many people i don’t like sharing showers with. so we all got this house together junior year. and here i am. house princess or whatever.”
he nods like he really listened to all of that. like he’s still listening.
you slide him a glass. “don’t tell anyone what’s in this.”
“wouldn’t dream of it,” he says. “you gonna make me one every weekend?”
you pause like you’re thinking.
“depends.”
“on what?”
“if you keep being cool.”
he grins.
“i’m always cool.”
you finally look at him again.
he’s close now. not uncomfortably. just… naturally. like he never stepped back.
you feel warm. part alcohol. part something else.
he takes another sip, eyes still on you over the rim of his glass.
“you smoke?”
you scoff, dramatic. “do i smoke?”
you toss the towel on the counter, hand on your hip. “i taught everybody in this house how to roll.”
he smiles like that’s the exact answer he was hoping for. “yeah?”
“ask jake. he was struggling with even crumbling the paper until i saved his life. wasting weed all over the place for no reason.”
“so you’re useful,” he nods, like he’s making a mental note. “i like that.”
you roll your eyes. “you’re lucky i’m in a good mood.”
he raises his hands in mock surrender. “i’m just here to learn.”
you pour the last of the mix into a pitcher and lean back against the counter, arms crossed, your vibe relaxing with the buzz that’s finally hitting.
you study him for a second.
“are you even the party type?” you ask. “you’re jake’s cousin, so i assume it runs in the family, but…”
you tilt your head. “you also give introvert.”
he shrugs, sipping slow. “what’s that supposed to mean?”
“i don’t know,” you say. “you just… you don’t move like someone who needs attention. you kind of stand in the corner and wait for people to come to you.”
he doesn’t respond right away. just watches you, the corner of his mouth twitching.
“so which is it?” you ask. “are you lying to me, or am i lying to myself, sunghoon?”
you say his name soft—almost out of habit. not performative, not on purpose.
but he hears it. and you feel it.
his eyes flicker. slow.
“say that again?” he says.
you blink. “what?”
“my name.”
you lift an eyebrow. “sunghoon.”
he exhales like he just got something he wanted but didn’t ask for out loud.
“yeah,” he says. “i like how that sounds coming from you.”
you try not to react. try not to smile.
fail.
you look down at the counter, then back at him. you catch yourself staring.
he’s talking again—something about the mix, the drink, the party—but it’s all background noise now. his voice feels too smooth, too steady. your head’s already a little light. your body a little too warm.
you blink, shift your weight. “what am i doing?”
you don’t say it out loud. just think it, hard, like maybe the force of the thought will reset you.
but it doesn’t.
because you like the way he talks. you like the way he’s looking at you like you’re not just another pretty girl in a party dress. you like the fact that he hasn’t once looked away from you, not even when you did.
and maybe that’s the part that’s messing with you.
just as you open your mouth—maybe to change the subject, maybe to say something dumb—footsteps echo down the hall.
they’re back.
the door swings open. jake first, followed by jae, sunoo, and then—
jungwon.
he doesn’t look mad. doesn’t look jealous.
he just looks.
like he’s trying to take in the scene and not let it show on his face.
“we got ‘em,” jake announces, holding up the plastic bag like a trophy. “three perfect rolls.”
you push yourself off the counter. “let’s not light up yet.”
“what?” sunoo asks.
“we’re already halfway to plastered,” you say. “if we smoke now, none of us are gonna make it to the second hour of this party.”
jake frowns, but nods. “alright. we’ll save it.”
and then—knock knock knock.
everyone freezes for a second.
“doors unlocked!” jake calls, already heading that way.
you don’t move.
you don’t have to.
you already know.
she walks in like she’s been here before. because she has.
jungwon’s ex—not official, but close enough.
pretty. tall. confident in that way girls get when they think the room already wants them.
your stomach turns, tight and sharp.
she spots him immediately. smiles too big. too comfortable.
he gives her a quick hug. a small laugh. you know that laugh.
sunghoon’s still next to you.
he doesn’t say anything.
but you feel his eyes flick toward you. then toward her. then back to you again.
he’s putting it together.
and for once, you’re not quick with a comeback.
you’re just standing there. breathing quiet.
you hate this part of yourself—the one that still reacts.
you’re not with him. you never were.
but the ache still shows up anyway.
Tumblr media
the house is hot now.
not just warm—hot.
the kind of heat that comes from too many bodies, too much liquor, and music shaking the walls like it’s trying to break them.
you can’t remember when it got this packed, but someone turned off the living room lights and now it’s just pink LED glow and flashlight phone cams catching angles. there’s glitter on the floor. a bottle in everyone’s hand. sunoo’s standing on the coffee table screaming lyrics, and jake’s somewhere in the kitchen making more jungle juice with a funnel and a prayer.
you’re laughing too much. your cheeks hurt. your legs feel loose. the drink in your cup is sweet and evil and exactly what you needed.
sunghoon’s been floating in and out of your space. not clingy—just… aware.
you like that. you feel him watching, but not in a possessive way. just curious. like he’s still trying to figure out what to do with the fact that he likes being around you.
like maybe you weren’t what he expected either.
but you don’t think too hard about it.
not yet.
you’re mid-sip when you spot her again.
jungwon’s ex. or kind-of-ex. or whatever she’s pretending not to be.
she’s in the corner of the room, leaned up against the speaker, close—too close—to him.
you don’t even know when it happened, but she’s been inching her way back into his gravity all night. you keep your face neutral. sip slow.
jungwon’s not touching her. not really looking at her either. but she’s laughing too loud at nothing he’s saying, reaching for his hand when the beat drops, pressing her shoulder into his arm like muscle memory.
your throat burns as you swallow.
jungwon’s head feels like cotton. too much noise, too many people. too much you.
he’s not drunk enough to act stupid. but drunk enough to feel everything a little louder than usual. loud enough to know that watching you smile at sunghoon across the room is killing him. loud enough to know he can’t keep doing this.
she’s been trying him all night.
his ex.
you think he doesn’t notice how you look every time she talks to him. how your eyes go blank. how you laugh louder at whatever someone else says like you’re not trying to feel it.
but he sees it. and he hates himself for letting it go on this long.
“you good?” she asks, leaning into him like old habits.
he shrugs her off—gentle, quiet. doesn’t want to cause a scene.
“just tired,” he says. it’s not a lie. not the full truth either.
she pouts. “you sure?”
he looks over her head.
across the room.
at you.
you’re laughing at something sunghoon said. your face tilted up, drink in your hand, shoulders relaxed like you belong exactly where you are.
and maybe you do.
still—he looks down.
because he can’t stand how that makes him feel.
“yeah,” he says again, stepping away. “i’m good.”
she doesn’t follow.
he disappears down the hall.
the bathroom smells like mint mouthwash, weed, and cheap cologne. jungwon’s sitting on the edge of the tub, head in his hands. he’s not crying—he doesn’t do that—but his thoughts feel like they’re about to spill over.
jay leans against the sink, taking a slow sip from a water bottle you’re supposed to pretend doesn’t have vodka in it.
“bro,” jay says, pointing at him like he’s about to deliver a sermon. “no, actually—bro.”
jungwon lifts his head, eyes glazed.
“you are down bad.”
“i’m not.”
jay squints at him. “okay. okay. so explain to me why you’ve been staring at her all night like your soul left your body.”
he doesn’t answer. he runs a hand down his face.
“and then,” jay continues, stumbling just a little but catching himself, “then—you let that girl touch your arm? like that wasn’t gonna piss her off?”
“i didn’t let her do anything.”
jay stares at him for a second. then shakes his head. “you know what your problem is?”
“you?”
“you’re scared,” jay says, ignoring that completely. “you’re scared she’s gonna choose someone else before you even give her a chance to choose you.”
jungwon blinks. jaw tight.
“you think she’s gonna wait forever?” jay’s voice gets lower. not mean. just real. “she’s not.”
“i know,” jungwon mumbles.
jay leans in, his tone suddenly serious through all the liquor.
“look. i love you, okay? but you need to stop being scared and put your big boy drawls on.”
“wow.”
“no, for real,” jay slurs. “you love her, right?”
silence.
“you love her.”
“yeah,” jungwon says, so quiet he barely hears himself. this is the problem isn’t it? that he still can’t say it out loud? even to his best friend who wasn’t asking to inquire—but instead as a matter of fact.
“then go tell her,” jay says. “go tell her and stop being pussy. go get your girl. make tonight the night.”
he slaps jungwon’s knee and stands up like he just saved a life.
“fix your hoodie. put on some cologne. and when she comes in that room—because she will—you don’t hesitate. alright?”
jungwon nods, breath shaky.
jay’s halfway out the door when he turns around again.
“and if you don’t—i’m slapping the shit out of you tomorrow.”
then he’s gone.
jungwon sits there for another beat.
then stands.
goes to his room.
fixes the sheets.
sprays his cologne.
sits on the edge of the bed and waits.
you’ll come.
you always do.
Tumblr media
you don’t even remember how you ended up here.
one minute you were in the middle of the crowd, someone’s phone flashlight spinning above your head, a bottle in your hand, laughter in your mouth—
and now…
you’re here.
back room. door halfway closed. music muffled behind the walls.
it’s dark but cozy, still warm from the people that were just in here.
and it’s just you. and him.
sunghoon sits across from you on the futon, blunt lit, fingers careful. he holds it out without saying anything.
you take it. the first hit burns, but in a good way. like it’s stretching your chest out. like it’s slowing everything down just enough for your head to feel quiet again.
you pass it back.
he takes a hit, leans back, exhales slow.
for a while, no one talks.
then—
“you’re quieter now,” he says.
you smile a little. “i’m high.”
“still,” he says. “different vibe.”
you shrug. “people wear different versions of themselves in different rooms.”
he looks at you for a second, like he’s reading that sentence over twice.
then: “so which version is this?”
you blink. exhale.
“the one that’s tired of overthinking everything.”
he nods. takes another hit.
“you don’t strike me as the reckless type,” he says. “but you also don’t seem like you’re playing it safe.”
you tilt your head. “what makes you say that?”
he shrugs. “just a guess.”
you reach for the blunt again and his fingers brush yours. your breath catches.
you hit. exhale. “are you usually like this?”
“like what?”
“you ask a lot of questions.”
“i like figuring people out.”
“and you think you’ve figured me out already?”
he smiles. slow. “not yet. but i’m getting there.”
you lean back, head tipped against the wall.
the buzz is thick now. warm. your body feels like velvet.
“you ever fall for the wrong person?” you ask suddenly.
sunghoon doesn’t flinch.
“i’ve fallen for people who didn’t know what to do with me,” he says. “not sure if that makes them wrong. just… scared.”
you look down at your lap. your fingers. your cup.
he watches you, quiet for a beat.
“whoever he is,” he says suddenly, voice low, “i hope he figures it out before someone else does.”
you glance up. he’s not smiling—just looking at you. eyes steady. clear. a little too much.
you don’t answer. you just pass him the blunt.
he takes it. holds it between his fingers.
“you want to know what i think?” he asks, thumb brushing ash from the edge.
you say nothing.
“i think you don’t see yourself the way you should. you don’t know your power,” he utters. there’s something…seductive in his tone. honey-like. “
you look at him.
feel something shift.
he leans in, not fast. not loud. just close enough.
“but i see you,” he says.
it’s hard for you to find words. maybe because there’s a part of you that knows if he says one more sweet thing, you’ll lose control. or maybe it’s because you want him to.
“and what do you see?”
“the reason i’m not going back to cali anytime soon.” he whispers.
and then you kiss him.
and he kisses you back.
his mouth is soft. softer than you expected. warmer, too.
he kisses you like he’s trying to memorize the shape of you. slow. focused. not careful—but not rough either. just… present. all the way there.
like he’s not thinking about anything else but the feel of your lips and the way your breath catches when he tilts his head and kisses you deeper.
your hand finds his neck. his fingers slip under your thigh.
he doesn’t rush it.
he touches like someone who’s done this before—but wants this to feel different. like he’s trying not to ruin the moment by needing too much too fast.
but you want more.
you pull him closer without meaning to.
he groans—barely audible—but you feel it in his chest.
you’re on his lap now, knees on either side of him, dress hiking up as you shift.
his hands land on your hips, grounding you.
then sliding up, slow, until his thumbs press into the dip of your waist.
he pulls back just enough to look at you. your lips are parted. your eyes a little dazed.
you don’t say anything.
you just kiss him again.
this time it’s messier. hungrier.
your hands are in his hair. his mouth is at your jaw, your neck, his breath hot against your skin. you feel everything.
every inhale. every exhale. every time his lips find a new spot and stay there too long. you feel his fingers on your thighs—tight, then gentle, then tight again.
he’s asking without asking, and you’re answering without words.
you reach for the hem of your dress. he stills your hands.
“you sure?” he asks, voice low.
you nod.
he searches your face like he needs to be absolutely certain.
then: “say it.”
your voice is quiet. “i want you.”
his jaw clenches.
he kisses you again—harder this time.
everything happens in pieces. fast and slow all at once.
your dress comes off. his hoodie hits the floor.
his hands are everywhere—your waist, your chest, the back of your neck, the inside of your thighs.
his mouth trails heat down your collarbone, across your stomach, back up again like he’s trying to burn the memory of you into every inch.
you tug at his waistband. he breathes out something between a curse and your name.
there’s fumbling. laughing. sighs that sound like relief.
he stretches you open with his fingers first—gentle, watching your face the whole time.
“relax for me,” he whispers, lips brushing your jaw. “you can take it.”
you whimper. he kisses your cheek.
“you’re doing so good, baby. just like that.”
and when he finally pushes in—
you gasp.
it’s not just the stretch. it’s the feeling. the weight of it. the heat. the way he holds your hips like he’s trying not to lose himself too fast. the way he leans close, nose brushing yours, breath shaky.
“fuck—” he exhales. “you feel so fucking good.”
you tighten around him. he swears under his breath.
“you okay?”
you nod, barely able to form the word.
“good,” he says, voice dropping. “keep lookin’ at me.”
you move together. slow, then faster.
you’re moaning into his skin. his hands gripping the backs of your thighs, your ass, your waist—like he needs to touch all of you at once.
he pulls back, just enough to see your face. your mouth open, eyes fluttering.
“this what you needed, huh?” he murmurs, breath hitting your lips. “you needed someone to show you.”
you can’t even answer. he knows it.
“so fucking pretty like this,” he whispers, thumb brushing your cheek. “you feel everything, don’t you?”
you nod. desperate. breathless.
he leans in, lips brushing your ear.
“yeah, baby. let me feel it.”
you’ve never done this before.
not like this.
not while high. not while drunk.
not while still trying to pretend it wasn’t going to happen.
but now it is.
now it is.
his pace stutters when you clench. when you whisper his name without meaning to.
“again,” he says, voice strained. “say it again.”
you do.
he says something into your shoulder—something you don’t catch—but whatever it is, you feel it.
the room is spinning.
the air is thick.
your body is loud.
and when it’s over, you’re both quiet.
breathing hard.
skin hot.
foreheads touching.
you don’t say anything.
neither does he.
and maybe that’s okay—for now
Tumblr media
it’s 1:48 a.m.
jungwon checks his phone again, even though no one’s texted him. he’s been staring at the screen like it might buzz if he wills it hard enough.
it doesn’t.
he gets up, paces. smooths the sheets on his bed for the third time. they still smell like his cologne.
he still thinks you’re going to walk in and lay down like always. still thinks he’s going to hear your soft knock, that sleepy voice—“you up?”
he sits back down.
at 2:12 a.m he gets up again. walks into the hall. the music’s died down now—half the party’s gone, the rest are draped over furniture or passed out in random corners.
he finds jake in the kitchen, talking too loud to some girl he barely remembers inviting.
“have you seen—” jungwon starts.
“huh?”
“have you seen her?”
he doesn’t say your name. he doesn’t have to.
jake blinks, drunk. “nah, bro. i thought she went to bed already. wait—did we ever smoke those blunts?”
“okay,” jungwon mutters, already walking away. “you’re useless.”
he makes his way to your room and pauses at the door. doesn’t want to open it.
his hand is hovering over the knob like maybe it’ll open on its own. like maybe you’re in there and this is all a misunderstanding. you’ve just been asleep. just drunk. just tired.
but deep down—he knows.
and when he opens it and sees the empty bed, the stillness, the untouched hoodie on your chair—
something inside him buckles.
he closes the door slow.
walks back to his room like the hallway grew longer.
the second he sits down, his mind starts spinning.
she’s not in her room. she’s not in the hallway. she’s not at the party.
and then—
sunghoon’s not either.
he feels it in his chest. a slow, ugly bloom.
you’re not just missing. you’re together.
he stares at the floor. tries to blink the thought away.
no.
but it keeps coming back, sharper every time.
he remembers the way sunghoon looked at you earlier. like he already made up his mind. remembers how close you stood. the way you laughed, all soft and private.
he runs a hand through his hair—shaky. jaw tight. throat dry.
did they?
he hates himself for even thinking it.
but once the question forms, he can’t push it back down.
did they fuck?
he shuts his eyes. squeezes them tight.
it’s 3 a.m.
you’re still not back. you always come back.
you always knock on his door, even if the day was weird, even if you were mad, even if you didn’t say much when you crawled into his bed.
you always come back.
he stares at the ceiling. the light’s still on. his chest feels like it’s been hollowed out. and what hurts the most isn’t even that you might’ve chosen someone else.
it’s that he let you feel like he didn’t want you.
he left too many blanks for someone else to fill in.
and now?
someone else might have.
he turns on his side, pulls the blanket over his face, but the pictures in his head won’t stop playing.
you.
sunghoon.
your mouth.
his hands.
he wants to scream. wants to punch something. wants to call you, pull you back, beg you to forget whatever just happened. tell you it’s not too late. tell you he’s sorry for being scared. for being quiet. for acting like he didn’t care when all he ever did was love you so hard it scared the shit out of him.
but it’s too late for all of that now.
it’s 3 :48 a.m.
he’s still awake. you’re still gone.
and he doesn’t know if this time… you’re coming back.
he’s halfway to sleep.
face pressed into the pillow, body stiff under the covers he never pulled back. the room smells like you—but not enough. just a trace.
he should be asleep by now.
but he isn’t.
and then—
giggling.
soft at first. then louder. laughter tangled in whispers.
your voice.
his voice.
a thud against the wall.
“ow—shhh! you’re being so loud—”
more giggling.
another thump.
jungwon freezes. his chest goes tight. stomach flips so hard it feels like falling. he doesn’t move. just listens. eyes wide open in the dark.
outside the door—sunghoon.
“which room is yours?” he asks, half-whisper, half-laugh.
your voice again. warm. easy. happy. “this one—wait—stop hitting my head against stuff!”
“i’m trying,” he laughs. “you’re the one who wanted to be carried like a princess.”
“i didn’t ask for that!”
“yes you did.”
jungwon turns his face into the pillow. he doesn’t cry. he doesn’t move. but something splits open inside him. the sound of your laughter—soft and slurred and completely not his—echoes like a taunt.
he thought he had time.
he thought you’d always come back.
but you didn’t.
sunghoon kicks the door closed with his foot, still holding you against his chest.
“jesus,” he mutters, half-grinning. “you’re lucky you’re cute.”
you’re already laughing, head lolling on his shoulder. “you’re bad at walking.”
“no, you’re bad at being light.”
you swat his chest. “don’t be rude to your passenger.”
he drops you on the bed—gently. carefully. your bra strap’s half off. your thigh’s still cold from where his hand was.
he looks around, then down at you. “i’m not gonna stay.”
you blink. “why not?”
he rubs the back of his neck, tone softening. “not yet.”
you stare. “not yet?”
“yeah.” he shrugs, still smiling. “we’re both drunk. it doesn’t count.”
you let out a breathy laugh, almost disbelieving. “so… what we just did didn’t count?”
“i’m saying…” he starts, then smirks. “contrary to popular belief, i am a noble man.”
you roll your eyes. “that wasn’t very noble what you just did to me.”
he bites back a grin. “or maybe it was.”
you throw a pillow at him.
he catches it.
then lays down next to you—not under the covers, just close, warm, still high off your laugh.
“i’ll stay till you fall asleep,” he says.
your eyes close.
Tumblr media
he was supposed to leave the minute he knew you were asleep—and you’d think your little snores would have been his que. but for awhile, he sat there and watched you. wondering. feeling. he can’t help but to press a soft kiss to the side of your head before getting up.
sunghoon pulls your door shut behind him. quiet. careful.
he’s still buzzing. not just from the liquor, not just from the high—but from you. your laugh. your eyes. the way you said his name like it meant something.
he turns to head back down the hall—and almost runs straight into jake.
“you good?” jake grins, swaying slightly. there’s a red cup in his hand and a backwards cap barely clinging to his curls. “you look like you saw heaven.”
sunghoon smirks. “felt like it.”
“so?” jake wiggles his eyebrows. “mission complete?”
sunghoon laughs under his breath, shaking his head. “not what you think.”
“bro, don’t even lie. i saw y’all. the tension? that was cinematic.”
sunghoon leans against the wall, arms crossed. he exhales through his nose, smile still hanging on his face. “it’s not just that, though.”
jake’s grin softens into something more curious. “what do you mean?”
sunghoon pauses. lets the words sit for a second.
then shrugs. “i like her.”
“yeah?” jake tips his cup at him. “i mean… i kinda figured.”
sunghoon glances down the hall. “she’s different. cool as hell. smart. funny. and when she looks at you, it’s like…” he trails off, then chuckles. “i don’t know. you feel it.”
jake nods, a little quieter now. “you really like her?”
“yeah.” sunghoon’s voice is even. real. “i wasn’t planning on it, but… i think i may be here longer than the weekend.”
he says it so simply. so confidently. like he’s already decided.
jake grins again, a little drunker now. “look at you. falling for a girl on day one.”
sunghoon just shakes his head, smiling to himself. “you said be honest, right?”
“yeah, yeah. and i said i’d wingman. so just say the word.”
neither of them notice the door cracked open at the end of the hall.
jungwon’s standing there.
frozen.
he hears everything.
and suddenly the whole night clicks into place.
the missing glances. the sudden distractions. the way jake dragged him away from the kitchen for no reason.
he helped him.
jake—his boy, his roommate, his clueless ass best friend—helped sunghoon move in on the one girl he’s been in love with this whole time.
and jake didn’t even know.
jungwon doesn’t move. doesn’t breathe.
he closes the door slow. soft.
and this time, the ache in his chest is something he can’t swallow down.

Could you write a continuation of yandere satosugu where the reader lived and they try everything to help her get better and care for her?
| making up for mistakes | yandere satosugu x reader |
Tumblr media
-> continuation of the first part: link 🔗
you had survived the almost suicide attempt you so carefully & yet so carelessly attempted. you were sure you weren’t getting up after this. damn it you made sure to hit your head hard, you could see blanks, you could see stars in your eyes until it all faded to a peaceful nothing-ness.
now, you’re awake again. nothing hurts. you know they must’ve told their friend shoko to aid in your injuries. you feel like you’ve woken up from a long slumber. unwanted as it may be… it does make you feel eerily refreshed. you stretch your limbs from the bed, they’re going to kill you for this. kill you for hampering with their property. oh well — at this point you’re fine with it. what’s it going to do? hurt you. pain is all there is they could ever offer anyways. maybe you can scream out and wish it gets over. that’s all you set your mind to.
you look to the side, the curtains are open and there is a little drizzle of snow. it brings a smile to your face. what if you hadn’t been kidnapped? it would’ve been so fun to hop into one of the lovely cafes you like & order some hot cocoa. put both your hands and wrap them around the ceramic of the hot cup and exhale in utter relaxation of the aroma the sweet cafe has to offer. oh… happy days.
its nauseating what your life is now, wrapping a blanket around yourself and checking down below. you are wearing clothes, decent clothes… not the sultry, slutty ones that satoru forces you to wear. you feel like you could throw up when the reminder occurs again. beaten up like you were nothing but an animal, throwing up in pain and anxiety--
"there we go! princess! awake! oh my god!" satoru comes in and hugs you tightly, his bulky arms wrapping against you, he doesn't let your mind have the time to panic. besides, satoru was... not the one who inflicted you that pain. even though he did nothing about it, in a moment of pure misery, your mind would latch on to him for comfort. "baby- you scared daddy, please don't do that ever again. fuck! i thought i lost you." you could hear the heartbeats on your snow haired man, they were ragged and reminded of the same panic you once bore.
"sorry." your eyes lack all emotions, just a soft murmur escaping you. the haunting realization that you were alive was eating you up. even so, it was your soul that had died. it's the dejected way you answered that makes satoru panic even more. immediately at your knees, leaning against your thighs and mumbling soft apologies, tears wetting your skin. "please baby, I'm so sorry, i should never have let that happen... you did a mistake that's all! you- you- pissed us off." he shakes his head, hugging you tightly.
your hands robotically landed across his hair, caressing. "it's okay, i did wrong, i understand."
your responses were making him nauseous, he hated seeing you in pain, but suguru always says its something that's needed. why is it needed? you're not an animal, are you? the ways with which satoru and suguru try to 'discipline' their toy they are delusional enough to call their lover is insane.
"i got breakfast, little one." now, your heart sinks. you hear the voice of the man who did this to you, mothering, now that his rage is faded into pure, eviscerating guilt. "you have no idea the joy it gives me seeing you awake." suguru hums, and you latch onto satoru, hugging him tightly. satoru's heart skips a beat. this was not the first time you had reached out to him, yet, you did it by your own. it gives him a sick sense of protectiveness. "he wouldn't do anything to ya baby, suguru loves you too." he reminds, looking at a devastated suguru.
"please don't hurt yourself again, angel" suguru hums, leaning in and kissing your forehead. it makes you sick to your stomach, how they treat you right now. you know that whatever you did yielded no results. and they are ever so careful about the same. you're pretty sure you'd have either of them by your side at all times.
"let's go and eat, suguru's made your favorite!" satoru chirps, happily holding you princess-style and going to the dining area. your eyes wandered to the other room on the way, the same room where this all happened, it's making you panic internally. the grotesque reminder of how they treated you. you're about to throw up again.
as soon as satoru puts you down, you run to throw up in disgust, nothing comes out except a few drops of water. your stomach is empty as is. a large, looming hand caresses your back. "I'm sorry, angel. please relax." suguru-- it's suguru...
"i'm sorry." you answered, "i am so sorry." you nodded to get back to the dining area, you should know better than to be with satoru. its not like suguru wouldn't do anything he wants anyways... you'd just like to have some comfort over it.
luckily for you, the breakfast went fine, you were eating quietly, while satoru just observed you. how uncomfortable you looked, the subtle shift in your demeanor. every tiny thing. suguru is essentially doing the same, gazing at your way and observing you. "you look beautiful." suguru comments, and you force a smile from the deepest pits of your psyche. "thank you, suguru."
you know he's ticked off, you need to call them 'daddy' and you're here, addressing them by their first names. sigh... they just have to help you heal, there isn't anything they can do about it really. they pushed you this far, and they should make up for it.
however, as days turn into weeks, satoru and suguru are forced to face the haunting realization that your mental and physical health is worsening. you barely eat, barely talk... you just, stare into the nothingness of empty spaces. satoru has avoided missions to take care of you. he is by your side, sleeps next to you, kisses your forehead, helps you take a shower. while earlier, you tried to at least pretend and work with it. answer however you could, talk to them, fake your smiles, now its nothing. you barely talk.
this time, satoru has a mission to take care of, but suguru is the one who's spending time with you. gently placing you on the bathtub, caressing your forearm, massaging it, decorating it with petals. "there we go little girl, there we go. feels nice?" he coos, and when you don't respond, sighs weakly. he wishes he could at least hear something out of you. when he sees you immersed in auto-pilot, he hums by himself; "yes, yes it is." he has to talk to himself in hopes that its you talking to him. "you know, me and satoru... we were thinking a trip to Italy sounds nice, or maybe Paris.." you used to love travelling, he hopes that would utter out a response from you. NOTHING comes out of you however. that makes suguru's heart break a little, "or maybe, anywhere that you like." he hums, sighing.
"angel?" he asks softly, leaning in and kissing your neck, maybe that would at least earn some leaning back. your resistance...
none.
"talk to me for fucks sake!" suguru snarls, glaring hard at you. you don't even flinch at that, contrary to your earlier flinching and tweaking. a sigh escapes him and then comes bubbling tears. he has truly fucked you up. the haunting realization finally hits him. he can't live with it anymore... it's choking the very fiber of his being.
the rest of the shower passes by in a haze, and suguru is quiet, tears dripping from his face. "what should i do so that you become normal again?" he asks again, pouting and begging with his eyes. no response...
he gets up after tucking you in bed. the dark circles in your eyes are an explicit example of how less you're sleeping. sometimes you wake up with irritating nightmares, screaming and crying. that's the only moment when satoru and suguru are welcomed by your affections.
suguru sighs, he needs to win you this time. or maybe... what's that called? stockholm syndrome?
or maybe, he needs to discuss with satoru about erasing your memory...
or maybe, he needs a curse that can shove your memory off and then they can date you.. from scratch...
either way, they're not leaving you. anytime soon.

Yandere Baki Hanma x reader x Yandere Ohma Tokita
Triggers: yandere behavior, stalking, doxing

Tumblr media
Finally! After a long time of waiting, your two favorite martial arts anime are getting their own videogame, it feels almost like Christmas! Once you'd seen the movie Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura, you couldn't wait anymore to play the game to the movie.
You were so pleased that you took the day off to play the game. Some people would call you crazy for making such a fuss over a mobile game, but you couldn't help it. You're just to happy that your favorite characters were represented in other media than only in manga or anime!
You stare at your phone when it's finally 9:00 am, with a huge smile on your face you go to the play store as you see the game, you immediately download it. Your excitement grows bigger and bigger as you decide to go to the kitchen to grab your favorite drink, to cross the long wait.
After a few minutes the game is downloaded, you press the app button as you get greeted with a red glowing screen. A huge white front appears with the 'Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura the mobile game'. A few seconds later your two favorite characters, Baki and Ohma also appear on the screen. You could feel how your heart starts to beat faster, as your excitement also grew. You finally press start and immediately the screen is filled with a battle arena. It was a good decision to stay at home today!
----
A few hours go by as you can't stop playing this game! It has similarities to Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, and each of the individual characters has their own signature move with their own special attacks. Well, since you only play as Ohma or Baki, you couldn't really tell what the other special attacks are like, but you honestly didn't care that much about it. You have to much fun winning online fights with those two, that you simply forgot the other ones.
Time flies by as you only now realize how hungry you are. It is already afternoon and because of the game you had forgotten to eat something. With a small sigh you are about to close the app as you notice something strange. A small window pops up.
Don't go....
Weird you think as you brush it off, maybe it is a bug which still needs to be fixed. You finally close the app as you leave your phone on the couch and head towards the kitchen to cook yourself something to eat.
After dinner you decide to take it easy, so you grab your phone as you head to your way to comfortable bed. You slowly start to lay down as you swipe through your contacts. Only now do you realize that the messages from your best friend's chat haven't shown to you. God this phone would kill you one day. You try to open the chat but before you could read it something weird again happened.
(B/f): Heyoooo! :3What's up?! Do you want to face-?¿?¿?¿

What the fuck?? You roll with your (e/c) eyes in annoyance as the entire app freezes and crashes down. Surely that has to be a bad joke right?! Why does your phone hate you so much? You're trying to calm yourself down as suddenly another message pops up. At first you couldn't believe what you read there...was this even possible?! It takes you a short while to realize that this isn't a weird thought you had, infact this is real. A message from the BvK game pops up, something you didn't thought was ever possible, but maybe the creator added something like that to create more variety...
C'mon let's play! Don't leave us hanging here....
A cold shiver runs down your spine as you suddenly have an uneasy feeling in your stomach. Did someone manage to hack into your damn phone and try to scare you?! Or is your phone so old that it just starts to collapse. You clearly didn't know the answer right now. "Maybe I'm just to paranoid... I guess I need to calm down a bit." You tell yourself as you shrugg the weird feeling off, opening the app again. You spend the rest of the evening paying the game, you didn't have much else to do anyway. But you can't shake the strange feeling of that you're being watched.
-------
A few days passed and everything became a little more normal again. Maybe it was paranoia after all...You went to your job, did finish the work for today and then went home. You usually eat some food and then continue to play BvK. There is something about the game, what made you addicted. You just couldn't stop playing it. The strange thing is that whenever you wanted to try out other characters that wasn't Baki or Ohma, the whole game would freeze and a huge black screen would appear. Maybe another bug who didn't get fixed yet?
With a small sigh you start to bite your underlip as you stare at the character selection, of course Ohma and Baki will always have special places in your heart, you loved them both but you wanted to try out other characters too! Especially when (b/f) tells you how cool Kaolan or Jack is to play! It can't be that the game keeps crashing when you want to play someone else. Maybe this god damned bug is finally gone...
Your (e/c) eyes glide over the character selection as you take a few minutes to decide. "Then...hmm..I will take you Pickle!" You say to yourself as you sincerely hope that the game has finally been fixed. You click on the 'Fight' button, but before the loading screen could even show up the game starts to freeze and everything goes black. "Not again...oh come one..."

You will be ours....
What the hell?!! Out of sheer reflex, you throw your phone against the wall as you watch in bewildered, how it hits the ground. What the fuck...? Did someone really try to talk to you? Where does this game know your god damn name?! The shock runs deep as you decide not to touch the phone anymore, there's clearly a virus on it because otherwise you can't explain it logical.
You try your best to calm yourself down, taking a few breaths in and out, but even that doesn't help much. You would love to call (b/f) right now and tell him everything about it, but you don't want to touch this cursed phone anymore. Besides, would (b/f) really believe you? After all, you have no proof about it and in the end (b/f) would think that you're just setting him up again.
With a small sigh, you go into your living room as you sit down on the couch. A new phone would probably be the only best solution, at least you hoped. Even if you didn't have a lot of money to buy such an expensive thing, you got no other choice. Maybe (b/f) could borrow you some money. Slowly you lie down on the couch as you notice how your eyelids get heavier and heavier, you let out a big yawn as you fall asleep.
----
The next few days went smoothly, thanks to the help of (b/f) who saved your ass with his money, you were able to buy a new phone. Everything went back to normal, your life got boring again but at least your phone didn't try to blackmail you. Just as you were about to take a shower, a message from (b/f) pops up, with a huge smile on your face you reach for your phone and swipe to the message.
(B/f): "Did you see the new Patch? Ahh they added the death row convicts and fucking Muteba!! (Y/n) you need to play it, I swear it makes so much fun."
You look hesitantly at the message, a cold shiver runs down your spine. Normally, you would have loved to try out the new characters, but something deep inside you tells you not to.
(Y/n): I don't know...what if the virus comes back and destroys also my new phone. :( I'm broke rn I can't effort another phone...
It took no less than a few seconds for another message to pop up.
(B/f): Oh c'mon it won't happen again. Maybe you were a little bit to careless and went to strange sites~😉
You roll your eyes in annoyance as you read the teasing message, another sigh leaves your mouth as you head to the all to familiar play store and download the game again. Maybe (b/f) is right, you were a little bit careless. Besides, what are the chances thar something like this happens twice? The fact that other characters were finally added too made you so happy that you immediately go into your shower. You want to play the games again and this time without any weird coincidences.
Minutes pass and you find yourself on your couch where you start the game again. Just as you are greeted with the all known home screen, you have the feeling that you are being watched again. But this time it's worse that the last times... it's more intense and you almost feel like a small trapped animal that has been cornered by predators. You start to bite on your underlip as you shake off the unpleasant feeling as much as you can, you head straight to the battle arena where you find all the characters, even the new ones.
A small smile graces your lips as your eyes pass slowly through every character. Of course the option to play Baki or Ohma again would be there, but this time you want to play someone else. You know them both very well, their attacks and special moves, anything from it and so it's only logical to try someone new. Your eyes continue to wander around, as they suddenly stop. For a moment you rethink everything about who to really choose, but in the end you decide to play Doyle.
Exitment runs through your body, when the familiar loading screen appears in front of you, it only takes a few seconds as Hector stands in the fighting arena. Oh my god! A rush of relief runs through as you can finally enjoy this game. You play a few rounds with Hector, losing most of the time. Maybe you're not as good as you thought, just as Hector does his final pose, the screen goes black.
Two all too familiar faces walk towards you as they suddenly stop in the middle of your phone screen. Both fighter turn at the same time around, their almost dead eyes looking into yours, it feels like they are in the same room as you. What the hell?! This shit is fucking creepy... immediately you try to close the app, you keep pressing the cross but nothing happens. The eyes of the two fighters continue to penetrate you and it seems like as if they were very angry.
.......
..........
...
................
Suddenly, a message appears above Ohma's head.
......
.........
.............
You are really a brat, you know that?! Always trying to fight against us, as if we are some monsters...
......

Another message pops up but this time above Baki's head.
..........
............
........
................
.....................
We have tried it in a good way but you didn't care at all...

A huge message pops up above both their heads, as a small wicked smile spread their lips.

Good for you that we found a way to break out of this game. You won't escape us any longer.
That is clearly been enough for you, your heart starts beating faster and faster and you couldn't trust your eyes what you actually read. What the fuck is this about?! This is crazy....You grab the phone as you throw it against the wall, you'd rather not have a phone anymore than play this fucking psycho game ever again!
Your thoughts are filled with the messages of the two characters, what do they mean when they wrote they've found a way to break out?! It doesn't make any sense at all!!! Baki and Ohma doesn't even exist... You are so distracted by your own thoughts that you only now notice a strange blue glow from your cell phone. Just as you're about to take a closer look, you suddenly see a fucking hand popping out.
What the fuck?!
This is clearly way to weird, what the hell is this?! Your thoughts are going crazy, your instinct is screaming at you to run! Run as fast as you can, and so you do. You run to your door as you only want to leave this damned apartment as quickly as possible. Your legs carry you and you immediately rush out of the floor towards the street. You don't know where you should run but it doesn't matter right now, the main thing is to get put of this place. You keep running and running, your (h/c) hair makes it impossible to see anything, the wind is to strong. But you need to run, you need to...
You want to cross the road, as you suddenly feel a very strong hand grab you, and pull you towards it. You feel yourself almost falling, but before you can feel the impact of the ground, you are grabbed again in a strong embrace. You slowly open your (e/c) eyes as you stare directly in another pair of brown eyes. The man before you has hazelnut brown, fluffy hair and a birthmark on his lips. You also couldn't ignore the muscles that adorn his body, even though he's wearing a T-shirt, he couldn't hide them. You body begins to tremble as you slowly realize who is standing in front of you. This can't be real...this isn't possible!!
A dark, raspy voice awakes you from your thoughts as another muscular, yet taller man appears behind Baki. This one has black, wavy hair and black eyes. "You don't really make it easy, do you?" Ohmas gaze rests on you like that of a beast. You try to free yourself from the much to strong grip, something what you never believed to be possible, but it was useless. The Hanma seems to he very amused by the sight. "Don't try it (Y/n). You know you have no chance."
Of course you know that you didn't have the slightest chance against even one if this two monsters, Ohma and Baki are superior to you in every way. But your pride can't let that happen! Surely your 14 year old fanfiction fan would have died that these two are standing infront of you, but this isn't a stupid fanfictiin. This is the cruel reality and the reality is that you get captured by two fictional characters just like that. "Let me go!" You stutter out, doing you best to sound as strong as possible.
Ohma tilts his head to the side with a big, almost sadistic smile on bis face. "And what if not? Will you try to fight us then?" You can't miss the mocking tone, but something inside you knows that he is right. You can't fight them... Suddenly you notice how one of Bakis hand grabs your chin, forces you to look at him. "You're ours now, don't try to make us ever angry again. You know what will happen if you do." Full of fear, you nod to his kind yet threatening words as your last hope is slowly fading away. Maybe you should have listened to your instinct...

Tumblr media
It’s been a long day running errands for the Firelights, and you’re pretty damn desperate for a nap.
However, that won’t be happening for a long time. You still have outrageous amounts of tasks to complete, and you’ve agreed to do multiple favours for friends- one being a trip to the other side of the Undercity, which you are very much not looking forwards to.
You sigh and run a hand through your hair, stepping into the Firelight sanctuary for a brief moment of peace. Although you are not yet able to lie down and go to sleep, you can still take a moment to relax your muscles (and find your scarf- it’s fucking freezing.)
You see a small group crowded around a small fire (set up far away enough from the tree to not be any danger to it). You make your way over, waving at a Firelight on a hoverboard redoing the paint on the mural. You take a seat on a bench and stretch your legs out, groaning. God, you hadn’t realised how sore you were until now. You crack your neck, sighing.
You give yourself a total of five minutes to relax before you’re up again. You head up into your room, located in one of the structures built into the tree.
When you go in, you find your cupboard doors open. You feel no fear, no worry- no one could ever find this place; and besides, if they did, why would they go for your clothes?
You rifle through the contents of your wardrobe for a moment, and, with a sinking heart, realise that your scarf is nowhere to be seen. You look again, upturning your clothes multiple times, before you give up, falling back onto your bed and pressing the heels of your hands into your eyes.
“Motherfuckin’ shit,” you mutter to yourself.
Once you have recovered from the absolute horror of your missing scarf, you sit up again- and spot a note on your desk. It’s pinned down by an adorable little owl, carved out of wood you suspect may have come from the suspicious chunk newly missing from your desk.
You stand and walk over, carefully moving the owl and picking up the note. It takes a moment for you to decipher the monstrously bad handwriting, but when you do, you snort to yourself.
I BORROWED your scarf
Will return it soon, promise -
You shake your head at the note, chuckling incredulously. You could recognise that handwriting anywhere; as if the owl weren’t enough of an indication of who had stolen your scarf. You carefully lift the note and pin it to your wall, amongst a growing collection of similar notes. All signed with the same little heart. You put the owl in a miniature treasure chest, among an assortment of other wooden animals. (If he continues carving chunks out of your desk, you will soon have nothing left).
You will borrow a scarf from a friend, you tell yourself, still smiling fondly.
Once you have acquired a replacement scarf (from another Firelight, called Jem), you head out again, ready to carry on with your tasks. It takes a little longer than expected, but when you make it home, exhausted and soggy, your heart lifts. The tree, as always, is lit with golden lights. You can hear children laughing; Scar must be doing his weekly story time. You smile to yourself, unwrapping the scarf from around your neck- you must return it to Jem tomorrow, once you have reacquired your own.
You make your way up to your room, shivering slightly in your wet clothes. Once the door is locked behind you, you make quick work of getting your clothes off (you discard them in a corner and swear to yourself that you will hang them out to dry later, which you won’t) and changing into something more casual and comfortable. Once you are done, you head outside again, wrapped now in a long black dressing gown coat thing that another Firelight half sewed, half knitted for you using scraps. It is fully dark, the area lit only by the soft gold and green lights scattered around the tree. Almost everyone is inside, in the warm. You are quick to join them, signing contently once you are back in the warmth. You spot Scar, now done with story time, and jog over to him, nudging him in the shoulder.
“Hey,” you say softly, so as not to startle his daughter, who is snoozing in his lap, “have you seen Ekko?” “Our glorious leader?” Scar shakes his head. “No, I haven’t- but Annie said he was up in his room.”
You nod and pat Scar on the back, smiling at him. “Thanks,” you murmur. He nods back, also smiling. You and Ekko think you’re so slick, keeping your relationship a secret, but the bounce in your step as you practically sprint towards Ekko’s room says everything he needs to know.
At first, you plan on not knocking- just barge into his room, tackle him to the ground, steal the scarf back in a sneak attack.  However, as you get closer to the door, and as your heart warms, you decide to go with the peaceful approach. You knock and step back, putting on an official demeanor for anyone who might be passing. You are keeping this relationship a secret, after all.
The door swings open, and you are greeted with the most beautiful boy of all time, wearing an extremely comfortable looking scarf. Your scarf; you’ll be damned if you don’t get that thing back.
He steps aside, a silent invitation into his room. You smile at him cheekily as you pass, wrapping your fingers around the scarf. The door clicks shut behind you as you tug him over to you. “That,” you say, swerving out of the way as he tries to kiss you, “is my scarf.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he answers, grinning and winding his arms around your waist.
You scoff at him, playfully wounded. As you are opening your mouth to protest, he leans in, managing to kiss you. As always, it is soft; as always, it makes your legs turn to jelly and your stomach do strange little somersaults. You kiss him back, pulling him closer by the scarf still wound around his neck.
“I want it back,” you whisper, and he laughs (the arrogant bastard), pulling you into a hug. You nuzzle into the soft fabric of the scarf, secretly wishing for his skin instead- you have found that the crook of his neck is a rather delightful place for you to kiss.
“You smell like a wet dog,” he mumbles into your forehead, following the harsh words with a kiss.
“Fuck you,” is your eloquent response. “Right now?” You can practically feel his smirk, so cocky, as he peppers kisses over your face. As he does so, you lean into him, carefully unwinding the scarf from around his neck. It’s a slow process (although your partner’s kisses make it bearable) but you finally manage to remove it completely. You hold it triumphantly over your head, aha!ing victoriously. He looks at you, somewhat incredulous, although he is grinning. You are quick to follow, wrapping your arms around his neck again.
“Thief,” he whispers into your ear.
“Is it stealing if it’s already mine?” You quip in response, laughing with him. He kisses right below your ear, and you almost melt into him.
“Also,” you manage to say, although your voice is slightly shaky as he continues to kiss your neck, “you need to stop cutting chunks out of my desk. I need somewhere to write, you know.”
“You can use mine,” he murmurs. His hands fall to your waist. “I’ll give you a key, come in anytime you want. Don’t even have to knock.” “Ekko,” you say, because you don’t have the words to tell him quite how much this means to you. You can’t really tell if this is his way of inviting you officially into his life, but if it is, God knows you accept.
“I mean it,” he says. He’s stopped kissing you now, has pulled back to look at you properly. The way he is looking at you- it is somewhat similar to how he looks at the tree, full of love and maybe a little bit of pride. You make a note to tease him about it later.
“They’ll all know,” are your words.
“They already do,” he responds with a cheeky smile. You know he’s right.
“Okay,” you say, softly, your smile widening. “Yeah, okay, I’ll take your key.”
“Ah-“ his grin widens to, and he steps away from you completely. “There is one condition.”
You quirk an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “Oh yeah? What’s that, owl boy?”
He snorts at the nickname, mimicking your stance. “I get to keep the scarf.”
Oh, the sly bastard. You should have known that he had some ulterior motive, some secret plan.
“I should’ve known,” you whisper, placing the scarf over your heart. “I should’ve known you were going to stab me in the back.”
He laughs at you- downright laughs, as if this isn’t the most earth-shattering thing ever. (You are holding in your own laugh, but he doesn’t need to know that).
“Don’t laugh at me,” you cry. “Don’t- you dare-“
He is still laughing as he steps forwards, wrapping his arms around you once again and pulling you flush against him. You start to laugh, and you put your arms around his neck, tossing your head back. He snatches the scarf from your hands and wraps it around his neck, leaving a long extra part, which he then puts around your neck. Had you not been completely focused on how beautiful he looks, and how happy you are, you would have worried about the possible health hazards of this. He kisses you, drawing you in, pushing you softly towards the bed. You kiss back, cupping his face in your hands, your breath catching in your throat. He turns then, sitting down on the bed. You make quick work of unwinding the scarf again, tossing it to the side as you join him on the bed. You giggle as you both tumble down, so you are lying on top of him, your hair all in his face. You pepper his face with kisses, like he did to you, and he is grinning so widely it makes your chest hurt a little. And then you’re kissing again, his mouth on yours, his hands on your back, pulling you always closer.
At some point, this stops, and you find yourself lying facing him in the small bed, pressed close to each other. Your forehead is against his, and you are just looking- looking in a way that you were unable to before you two became a thing. Staring without shame, taking in every detail of his face. The traces of white paint still on his face, the way his eyes are half shut as he looks at you with the same attention. His arm is flopped lazily around your waist, toying lightly with the fabric of your shirt.
“You can keep the scarf,” you whisper to him, and he smiles in a way that makes you immediately bridge the tiny gap between you two and press your mouth to his once again.
You stay like that for a while, lying so close to each other you may as well be one, whispering to each other and kissing. You feel like a teenager- or at least, what you imagine a Piltie teenager might feel like, with their first ever school crush- with the butterflies in your stomach and the erratic beating of your heart. At some point, he puts his fingers over your pulse and holds them there, breathing in time with your heartbeat. You drift off then, slipping in and out of sleep for the next few hours.
When you wake, it’s still night. You nudge Ekko, and he groggily opens his eyes, immediately on alert. You smile at him, reassuringly tracing his cheekbone.
“I should go,” you whisper, although you really really don’t want to.
He shakes his head at you. “No,” he grumbles, his voice rough with sleep.
“Yes,” you murmur. “The walk of shame is my favourite part of being with you,” you add playfully.
“Stay,” he whispers. His eyes are closing, and you know there’s no arguing.
You wait, count sixty seconds in your head, before you kiss his forehead, smiling to yourself. “Alright,” you murmur to yourself more than to him, “I’ll stay.”

— CHILDE ⋆
You didn't mean to become a menace. Really. You were just born this way. Some people had restraint. Some people didn't catcall trained killers. But you?
You were built different.
So when Childe walked past you fresh out the shower, towel slung low on his hips, humming some stupid song as steam clung to his stupidly defined back muscles—
SMACK.
You landed that palm on his ass like a damn animal.
"Daaaamn, soldier! That vision came with a dump truck license or what?"
He froze.
Literally. Time itself? May have frozen.
You watched the realization settle into his bones like "Oh my god. She touched the booty."
He turned around slowly, eyes wide, cheeks pink — not from embarrassment. Oh no. From EXCITEMENT.
“You tryna start a war, babe?” he grinned like a wolf sniffing blood. “Because that was an act of aggression.”
“Guilty as charged.”
He dropped the towel. You did not mean to look down. But you did. Out of instinct.
“Your move,” he said. And suddenly you realized: It wasn't over
You couldn't walk for a week.
— ZHONGLI ⋆
Zhongli was bent over his desk, organizing scrolls and muttering about contracts. You were trying so hard to be normal. Really. But the man wore those tight high-waisted pants.
And when he bent slightly to grab something—
You blacked out.
SMACK.
“Damn, daddy, who gave you all that ass?!”
Time stopped.
Zhongli slowly turned, face unreadable, expression blank.
But his ears?
Bright red.
“...Pardon?” he said, voice smooth as ever, as if you hadn’t just sexually harassed him.
You cleared your throat. “I said, uh… Geo be thick tho?”
He blinked. Then, to your horror — he smiled.
The type of smile that said: You have messed up. You have no idea how much.
“Contracts must be upheld,” he murmured, stepping closer. “You have initiated a binding agreement. I believe the clause was... ‘smacketh thy posterior.’”
“Zhongli, please.”
“I shall honor it. As should you. Every day. At sunset. In accordance with tradition.”
“Zhongli, that’s NOT a real—”
“It is now.”
You created a monster.
A hot, golden-eyed monster.
And you had only yourself to blame.
— XIAO ⋆
It was peaceful. Serene. The birds were chirping. Xiao, gorgeous as always, had just finished cleansing some evil or whatever. His back was turned. His arms crossed.
You stared.
His pants?
Tight.
Like insultingly tight.
It was your dream.
So obviously—
SMACK.
“THAT'S WHAT I CALL A DIVINE BLESSING, WHEW—!”
It happened so fast.
One moment you were alive, full of energy, the next—
You were pinned against the railing, Xiao’s glowing eyes burning into your soul.
His face was red. Not pink. Not flushed.
Red. Like he wanted to bury himself in shame and/or your neck.
“You… touched me. There. Why would you—do that?” he hissed, voice cracking.
You blinked. “Because it was right there. And it was thick.”
His eyes twitched. His grip on your arms tightened like he was trying not to commit murder. “Mortal urges are… incomprehensible.”
And yet, he didn’t let go.
“...You may do it again. But only if you announce yourself first. And swear it is out of… reverence.”
You saluted. “Respectfully, your honor, I will smacketh thy celestial cheeks.”
He vanished.
You giggled.
From the rooftops, he whispered: “I HEARD THAT.”

guys I’m sorry I know everyone loves grumpy Wolverine (and I do too) but after he and Wade get together I think he is THE biggest user of pet names ever. like Logan is a flirt (see x1 and x2) and he’s possessive as all hell (see his animal disposition) and do NOT think I forgot about him calling Mariko ‘princess’ in The Wolverine, so..
you can’t tell me that he isn’t calling Wade ‘princess’ and ‘baby’ and ‘sweetheart’ all the way to kingdom come, especially when he finds out how flustered it actually makes Wade when Logan flirts back.
like…. (accidentally wrote a ficlet below, good LORD that’s a lot of yapping for one post)
“Back from the grocery store, honey badger! Picked up those doggy diapers for our disgusting little cuntchkin that you asked me to get. Still don’t know why you said no to me just training her to pee on the neighbor’s doormat, though.”
There’s a yapping at his feet, and Wade sets the grocery bags on the counter, then leans down to rub the scabby head of the aforementioned cuntchkin. Logan is in the kitchen frying up something (smells like bacon? Wade doesn’t want to get his hopes up, but it really, really smells like bacon).
Logan takes the pan off of the stove — it is bacon, and Wade’s never been more excited in his life, not even when Gossip Girl announced their short lived 2021 reboot that immediately flopped — and wanders over to Wade, putting his hands on Wade’s hips to give him a kiss.
Wade doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to that. Some days, he can’t even believe he’s alive at all, much less that he’s alive in a world where he’s dating the god damn Wolverine.
“Thanks, princess,” Logan rumbles against his temple, arms wrapping further around Wade’s waist, keeping him there.
Wade does his best impression of a large, bald fish that just got pulled out of water and thrust onto dry land. His mouth opens, then closes, then opens again.
“Sorry, what was that?” he asks eventually.
“Thanks?” Logan says, taking a step back, confused.
“No, the other thing.”
“…Princess?” Logan tries.
“Yeah. What’s that about?”
“What, you don’t like it?”
“No! No,” Wade says, backpedaling. He loves it, he just… he just… he doesn’t know what he thought. The whole pet names thing had always been his schtick, never Logan’s. Wade becomes aware of how hot his face is, of the flush that must be creeping up over his scarred cheeks.
“Ohhh,” Logan purrs, nice and low, stepping forward again to crowd Wade against the counter. Wade’s face heats even more. “You like it, princess?”
Wade swallows. This man is going to be the death of him.

He didn't mean to do it. He meant it, with every fucked-up fibre of his being he meant it, but he didn't mean to actually do it.
Stiles had just—been so very fucking Stiles, in that stupid and irresponsible jump-head-first-into-the fray-on-everybody-else's-behalf kind of way that he has about him, and after the pack had neutralised the danger but everybody's veins still had more adrenaline than blood coursing though them, Derek felt—feels—so fucking livid and so damn grateful and so utterly, utterly muddled that he's grabbed Stiles by the shoulders and is pulling the kid's body into his own, hard, crashing their torsos together like a devastating highway collision with his arms enveloping Stiles's shoulders as a crushed car bonnet wraps itself around a tree.
Now—at a clearing in the trees on what has been Hale land for generations going back centuries, with Stiles in his space and his nostrils and in his fucking head—Derek is terrified.
There's a fairly stilted, “Whoa, okay, alright. We're doing this, huh, big guy?” But then Stiles is relaxing into the hug. He sort of melts, actually, snaking long and wiry yet surprisingly strong arms around Derek's waist; so very warm and alive, alive, alive.
“Stiles, you shouldn't have—why do you always have to—you could've fucking died!” he admonishes, although it doesn't come out half as harshly as he means and wants it to.
Lost, Derek shoves his nose into Stiles's neck and breathes.
Stiles lets him—because of course he does—cocking his head to the side to accommodate Derek's needs.
“Must be a day that ends in Y, huh, Der?” he answers, ever the class clown.
Derek quietly growls his annoyance and relief in equal measure, and even though he senses the rest of the pack has now gathered around them, and hating that he has an audience for this, he squeezes Stiles into him impossibly more.
Stiles wheezes comically then jokes some more, because humour is his default in any situation. “Hey, why don't you ease up a bit there, buddy? Kinda need this work of art that I call a body to stay in one piece if I'm ever gonna save your wolfy-ass again, oh Alpha, my Alpha.”
Derek promptly shuts him up with a slick lick to the jugular before he's really had a chance to think about what he's doing. Surprisingly, the kid shivers beautifully. But even Derek's tongue doesn't keep him quiet for very long. Only Stiles Stilinski could ramble incessantly with a werewolf at his throat.
“Okay, shit, alright, that—ahhhhhhh, that tickles, Fido! Heh, does this mean I'm gonna have to get the collar and chain on y—oh my fucking god!”
Derek clamps his jaws around the most exquisite throat he's ever seen, smelled, dreamed about, and growls out a warning sound that causes the betas to back off and Stiles to go weak at the knees.
Mine, he thinks loudly with a growl.
After a few delicious moments of Derek gnawing on Stiles's tasty throat, and once they're alone in the preserve other than the nocturnal animals and eery sound of the wind picking up from the west, Derek releases his jaws' hold on the sheriff's boy—the boy who runs with wolves; little red riding hoodie; the best human Derek's ever known—and soothes the purpling mark with a lingering press of his lips.
“Oh,” is amazingly all Stiles has got to say. Derek can satisfyingly smell Stiles's arousal, though, his wolf now howling inside of him at the heady scent.
“Yeah, oh,” he answers waggishly after trying his level best to calm the feral instinct he has to pull them both down into the undergrowth and mate the boy, here and now.
He finally manages to pull himself away from Stiles but doesn't release him from his grip entirely.
Fire-red irises find big, brown doe eyes and a smirk that Derek wants to lick right off Stiles's face to replace with a look of pure ecstasy.
“Stop doing stupid things,” he demands.
Begs.
“Yeah, no, probably never gonna—oomph!”
Derek kisses Stiles. Kisses him like it's the end of the fucking world, because he's realised that every time Stiles puts his own life in danger, it feels like it might be.
Wildly, Stiles doesn't hesitate this time. He kisses Derek right back, like he gets it.
Now found, Derek takes and he takes and he takes.
Stiles kisses like nobody else in existence, Derek is sure of it. He is earth and wind, fire and water.
Fucking elemental.
When presumably Stiles needs to breathe, he tears his lips away from Derek's—now swollen and blood-red—and Derek can't help the whine that escapes his. Their foreheads bump as they both pant, attempting to settle as they shake with waning post-fight nerves and a near-feverish desire.
Stiles bargains, “How ‘bout if you keep doing that, I'll get myself a bigger bat?”
Derek both hates and loves the smile that spreads across his face like a rash, entirely of its own volition.
“How about next time, you just wait for me?”
“Deal,” Stiles grins and kisses Derek again—and Derek hopes it's the kind of deal that's forever.

Hello!!!
I’ve been reading your works for a while and I’m hyperfixating adore you’re writings! So I saw this Red Bull ad during the Super Bowl and the penguin reminded me of Soap. Could I please humbly request hybridpenguin!Soap x reader fluff/comfort/romance/head canons anything really. I think you can bring this idea to life :3
It’s your lucky day cause I’ve been watching “Good luck Chuck” and there are some penguins that caught my eye. So I’ve been thinking about it whole day, googling penguins because I honestly don’t know much about them.
I chose Adelie Penguin for Soap because the blue-eyed stare this birds have is perfectly uncanny (I urge you to google them, they stare right in your soul) and also, they have very interesting courting rituals.
Also the wiki page for them said, I quote: “Despite their size, Adélie penguins are known for their bold and boisterous personality and will challenge other animals, including predators far larger than them.” And that reads like canonical Soap, because yeah, he would. Bold personality is right up this man’s alley.
But imagine hybrid Adelie Penguin!Soap and human Reader where he tries so fucking hard to court you properly but you don’t know jackshit about courting methods.
Male Adelie Penguins offer female penguin the perfect stone, polished to perfection, they spend quite some time looking for the best one and once found — they present it as a courting gift. It depends purely on the female penguin whether to accept courtship or not.
But if she does they can start mutual courting involving leaning closer to each other, grooming each other, familiarising with how each other sound — it helps them later to find the mate in the big crowd.
So Soap knows that maybe it would have been better to go with flower or something more conventional but he likes you, god, he really does. So there’s no harm in looking for a pretty stone for a pretty you, right?
Right?
Man spends his whole leave on Scotland’s shores, practically on all fours as he picks up decent stones, washes and polishes them at home before throw them all out because no. All wrong. Not prettty enough, not smooth enough, not shiny enough.
No mate would accept a shite like that, why would he even bring this ugly thing to your attention? What kind of potential mate would he be?
He returns to his searches even more determined. Soap will be damned if he comes back and he still doesn’t have a perfect stone for you.
And finally, luck smiles at him and dedication pays off — the perfect prettiest little stone he has ever seen. Smooth from cold waves, shiny in a way that makes you want it touch again and again, perfectly round. No ridges or bumps, no sharp edges or cracks.
Perfect stone for perfect you.
He returns feeling victorious and on top of the world and presents you with a stone without a second word. Quite literally he just extends his hand and there lies the stone. He doesn’t say anything, he’s just waiting for your reaction
And you have no fucking idea what’s going on, because the man is staring you in the eyes with his ungodly blue eyes and a little stone on his palm and you’re like…okay?:,) alright?🥹
So you take the stone to look closer (Soap tenses up like you have his heart in your hands, eyes hungry on you, still waiting for your reaction) and truth be told, it is a really nice stone. Shiny and smooth and perfectly polished. The kind of stone you’d want to fumble with all day, just rolling through the palm, massaging the center of your palm with it as you work.
It is a bloody lovely stone. You really like it.
But Johnny is not saying it, still watching you with the same hungry look, it’s just that now his grin is widening slowly because you look like you really like the stone. He did a good job, right? There’s no way you found his courting gift lacking.
And it is a perfect stone but the thing is…you don’t know if it’s a gift to you or if penguin part of Soap is simply showing off (crow!Simon does similar things when he brings you shiny stuff). So you don’t know if you are at liberty to keep the shiny pebble.
And Johnny is still completely fucking silent watching you with bated breath.
You carefully place the stone back in his palm, murmuring softly that it’s a very lovely stone, it looks incredible and you think it is absolutely gorgeous.
Soap stares at the stone for a few very long moments, his grin slowly fading because…don’t- don’t you like the stone, hen? You just said it’s gorgeous, but you are giving it back. Why are you giving it back?
He stares at the stone, absolutely crest-fallen in the face because he was so sure you’d like it. He was so proud of it and so excited to give it to you and of course there is no pressure for you to take it, after all it’s gift for you and you shouldn’t just settle for things.
But still.
What was wrong with it? Was there a crack he didn’t notice or is the texture of it not to your liking? Maybe you prefer sharper stones, maybe you like some roughness to them?
He looks back at you, feeling upset and anxious, stone still in hand while you try to gauge what the hell caused the reaction. Because Johnny is looking at you like you just kicked him in the stomach and you don’t know why.
“Ye didnae like it, hen?”, he swallows his pride and asks because obviously, you didn’t, what kind of fucking question is that. Mate just returned his gift back to him, means that gift is not up to standards.
You blink at him slowly, because what is he even talking about.
“I liked it. It’s really pretty. Where did you get it?”, you try to steer conversation away, since maybe there’s something you don’t seem to get about the stone.
“Why- ye didnae take it”, Soap’s voice is unusually soft, as he tilts his head to the side, stone clutched in his hand as some anxiety bleeds out of him.
Maybe he can still salvage it.
“Was it for me?”, the question leaves him now being the one who gives you a slow blink, before his gears kick in, realisations slowly creeping up his head. So that’s what was wrong.
“Aye”, stone returns to your palm, gets pressed into it by Johnny’s — warm and smooth — your heart skipping a beat. “If ye like it, Ah’d be happy if ye took it. But ainlie if ye like it, hen”
There’s a weight to this moment that you aren’t sure you capture fully but there’s something in Soap’s eyes that makes your fingers intertwine with his, head leaning closer to him. You are so close you can see the tiniest freckles on his cheeks.
Pretty.
“I really like it”, admitting it feels like you are ten again and sharing a silly secret with a boy you like, but Johnny looks at you like he couldn’t be happier.
His throat bobbing when you lean in closer, small shiver going down his spine because it’s really happening. His gift is accepted, his mate is accepting him — holding his hand, leaning into him, looking at him like that.
Best day of his life, truly.
So he presses a short tight kiss to your temple and nods at you like there is a shared understanding between you two now. Like you are partners in crime.
Soap practically jogs away, excitement evident in every step, shoulders spread out proudly. He fucking did it. He got the perfect stone for perfect you and you accepted it.
Now, the courting can really begin.
(It will take you an evening of google searches before you understand the meaning of the stone and why the hell, Soap is helping with your hair routine/skin care routine/nail polishing and even offers to “wash with the penguin, save the water, hen”)

crk reread - prologue
(long post with lots of images under the cut!)
why the fuck are the prologue cutscenes so low quality and bitcrunched?
are the ancients ever referred to as just The Five anywhere else in game? i think it's literally just in this single instance. very strange
soul jam's nature was so Dubious during prelaunch. are they unique to the virtue holders specifically, or a universal concept given a title and Emphasis for these exceptionally strong instances of them? we have soul stones which are described as having their essence, but its never been particularly clear if each individual cookie has a soul stone as like, their actual SOUL or not, and if souljam is moreover supposed to be synonymous in this use-case. i think devsis probably didn't really know themselves until a bit of a ways in. interesting to look back on
Tumblr media
i have a deep appreciation for how all of the ancients get crowns & diagrams of their kingdoms behind them EXCEPT for lily
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and if you didnt manage to catch on to the fact she was the odd one out of the group, this quad shot spells it out even clearer
do we ever see the flags for hb and gc's kingdoms outside of this cutscene? can't remember. surely we do
Tumblr media
I still have no fucking idea how she's here for this.
Tumblr media
god damn kim has been putting her heart into every single pv line since day one. i need more people to listen to the korean voice acting for this game the delivery is genuinely so fucking excellent across the board
the use of eternity in this sentence is. Interesting.
Tumblr media
IVE NEVER NOTICED THAT THEY BOTH START TO CRUMBLE DURING THIS??? dark moon magic is some wild shit my dude
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these early early game (practically prototype) cutscenes are SO strange looking by comparison to today. lily looks like shes from a newgrounds flash animation from 2008 here. wet cat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ever wondered why the vanilla kingdom is permanently airborne?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah
it wasn't always airborne
you can also briefly catch the souljams scattering across earthbread in that shot!
small detail people often forget about: while many cookies have indeed escaped the witches grasp after being baked before, im of the understanding here that gingerbrave is uniquely the only cookie to have ever escaped from inside the oven itself, mid-baking process. the kid also manages to avoid most every hazard for the unknowable amount of time he was running before he at last passed out from exhaustion after attacking a wolf. King shit
Tumblr media
corporate wants you to find the difference between these two images
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh what the fuck i COMPLETELY forgot about this. all of them knew each other pre-game! what! sure!
Tumblr media
okay now This.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
are we ever gonna come back around to this one devsis because What the fuck are you talking about. Why. Does this not completely undercut everything going on with white lily. In the first 15 minutes of playtime. WHY DOES STRAWBERRY PROCEED TO NEVER BRING THIS UP AGAIN. GINGERBRAVE DOESNT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THIUS AT ALL IN THE MOMENT???? ITS SO DARK IN HERE
the sugar gnomes immediately approaching three Actual Children when they happen to congregate within the ruins of the old kingdom they lived at and going REBUILD SOCIETY is so fucking funny to me
i know the intentions of most of this is near-exclusively to teach the player the base game mechanics but the concept of cookie cutters as they function in the gacha being a Real Thing in this universe is so. ????!?!??!?!?!??!?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i recall wizard gets disproven here a few chapters later but Man even the game cant decide on which variation of its lore to go with
Tumblr media
SUMMONING BEACON
Tumblr media
ahhh yes good old chili pepper and her singular personality trait of Is A Thief. i will be skipping most of her dialogue henceforth
will we EVER elaborate on what this fucking power from "The Legends" is supposed to be. Ever. We are so far removed from this initial plot at this point. devsis has the opportunity to bring back the funniest chekhovs gun in all of fiction
Tumblr media Tumblr media
custard cookie's korean performance makes him INFINITELY more tolerable to listen to. dare i say its Cute, Even. he's just a little guy.
Tumblr media
thats about it for prologue besides a bunch of really short & unvoiced tutorial cutscenes. I am forever haunted by the fact like 70% of the details established in this like 45 minute stretch have been pretty much completely abandoned in the modern day. GOD I WISH THEY DID ANYTHING WITH STRAWBERRY SEEING A COOKIE GET EATEN. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. i remembered she had *a* scene involving a witch encounter but not whatever the hell they were trying to do with THIS. The missed potential for her to have the most insane possible conversations with DE/lily. A literal nine year old coped better with seeing god consume its own creation than her. Fuck.

Wukong and Cat
I just think it would be funny to see Wukong dealing with a house pet. Specially a cat. (Maybe a dog but that’s not the point today) - In this Wukong can travel to the modern day to stay with you (before you fully commit to staying in the past with him Edit: yes taking the cat with you).
See, cats are…cats. Yes they can be skittish or friendly, mean or weird as hell. They come in all shapes and sizes both in body and personality. They consistently push boundaries - keeping them off counters am I right? And sometimes as the slightest change they do awful shit to tell you it displeased them - pissing outside the litter box because you moved it a few feet from where it normally is or got rid of their favorite chair.
Cats are entitled and they run the house. You ever been hounded by a cat that woke up from its nap and thinks it’s dinner time but they don’t eat for another 3 hours? Yeah it’s annoying. (We love them)
They are our mini gods basically.
Wukong would NOT do well with one at first.
It doesn’t listen to him, it gives him dirty looks 24/7, he doesn’t know what the hell it’s up to or thinking but he knows it’s plotting harm to him, he knows it’s mocking him as it watches him form its perch across the room. The damn thing even had you on a feeding schedule!!! It OWNS you!
But it will not own him. No. He is a free monkey. A KING! The Great Sage Equal to Heaven and Earth! No house pet will have dominion over him.
You even buy it toys it seems to play with 1 time before and never again. You spoil the ungrateful shit. It also sleeps with you, but not since he came along much to his pleasure. Yes furry asshole, that’s HIS spot now.
He finds it ridiculous that you even scoop up its fucking shit that it leaves for you. At the very least it covers it up but why are you its designated poop scraper? He doesn’t understand why it doesn’t shit and piss outside like every other animal. He may be a king but he’s never had anyone shovel his shit!
So when you ask him to help with the house chores one day, specifically handling the litter box and trash, he is taken aback. Him? Use the tiny shovel to scrape out its excrement? Oh absolute not. Hell no. Not on your life.
He is a KING. He does NOT shovel SHIT. No. He doesn’t budge until you glare at him. He can tell you’re getting annoyed and he doesn’t like it when you’re mad at him.
Wukong, thinking he’s being a genius summons a clone and decides the clone can handle the shitty sand. But then the clone also refuses. Starts arguing with him! The audacity! This goes on for several minutes, neither clone or original giving in until you come into the room having heard the heated conversation.
You tell him with a tone of finality to stop being a monkey cub and grow up, that if he doesn’t sift the litter by the time you come back he’s sleeping on the couch - one night for every turd and pee clump you find in that box. You stomp off to finish the laundry and Wukong & Clone look at the doorway with slight surprise. Clone snickers and gives Wukong a smirk, saying “Looks like our Queen has spoken, the King is on turd duty.” Before offing himself and disappearing with a cackle as Wukong curses his own cheekiness.
After several minutes of staring at the box with disgust he hears you walking through the house and his heart races. Quickly he grabs the weird little shovel and starts sifting, as you step into the room he smiles at you as if to say “See I’m a good boy” and you give him a look before going back to your own chores.
Wukong doesn’t DARE push you enough to ruin his nightly cuddles with you. No. Nothing is worth losing that. So he scoops the damn cats box and as he does so he hears tiny footsteps. Looking over he sees your cat watching him, as though supervising him. It pisses him off to no end that the house pet is looking at him so smugly. “Who’s the king now.”
Grumbling under his breath Wukong finishes his task and finally stands up straight. As he does so he looks at the furry animal. “Is it clean enough your highness?” He asks sarcastically but then his eyes widen as the cat steps towards the box.
To his utter annoyance and anger it takes a shit! RIGHT AFTER HED JUST CLEANED IT OUT? HOW DARE!!!!
He throws a tantrum he will deny to this day about it to you and you laugh saying that yeah, that happens almost every time. It infuriates him to no end. But he loves you and you love the cat. So he can’t do anything that would bring the little asshole harm or he’d risk losing you which is NOT an option.
He hates the damn thing so much.
But one day, while he’s napping on your couch, he wakes to a weird rumbling on his chest. Groggily he opens his eyes and lifts his head a little and is met with the sight of your cat curled up on his chest, eyes half lidded and watching him, its purring. He lays his head back down and tries to be annoyed by it. But the damn purr is soothing….it’s genuinely kinda nice. And his chest is warm. If he ends up stroking your cats fur making it purr louder until the two of them fall back asleep? That’s between him and cat.
