3am ice cream dates ⟡ aventurine
synopsis maybe waking up aventurine in the middle of the night for some ice cream isn't such a bad idea after all
warnings fluff, gn!reader, modern!au, whipped aventurine like he is in love with you, groggy aventurine (you can't change my mind about groggy aventurine btw)
NOTES HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE BOY MWAH U DESERVE EVERYTHING <33
waking up in the middle of the night wasn't something you were very fond of, especially since you aren't able to fall back asleep immediately. to make things worse, you were on your period meaning that you are now craving for something, specifically ice cream.
unfortunately, there was no ice cream left in the fridge since you finished them all last week and you haven't been able to buy some more since you were too busy to go buy some groceries.
you bit your lip in annoyance, moving to get out of bed. aventurine stirs awake from your movements, squinting his eyes as he adjusts to the darkness of the room. "why're you up? he asks in a groggy voice.
"aven! sorry, i didn't mean to wake you up," you apologized in a hushed tone. "i just... i'm craving for something." you gave him a sheepish smile.
"you seem like you want ice cream." aventurine states, rubbing his eyes as he sits up.
you gasped. "how'd you know?! are you a psychic?"
"you always crave for ice cream when you wake up at midnight on your period, you know that right?" aventurine answers. "of course i'll know what you're craving for."
"aw, you remember these tiny details? you're so sweet," you teasingly poke his cheek to which he just smacks your hand away. "we don't have any ice cream left in the fridge though."
aventurine sighs, climbing out of bed. "then we'll just have to go buy some."
your eyes lit up. "really?! you don't mind?"
through darkness, you were able to make out aventurine nodding. you quickly stand up, kissing aventurine's cheek, and then rushed out of the bedroom door.
(aventurine was so glad that you didn't try to wait for him because you would definitely tease him for his red cheeks).
"aven, hurry! the ice cream shop will close if we don't hurry!" you called out to him. he shakes his head, a small smile displayed on his lips. he quickly grabs his hoodie (and a spare one because he knows you didn't bring one) and his wallet and heads down the stairs.
you were bouncing on your heels, catching the hoodie aventurine throws at you. "ah, thank you!"
aventurine grabs your hand and holds it, opening the door for you. walking to the nearby supermarket, you and aventurine greet the staff member (who looked really tired) and went straight for the ice cream section. you browsed through the different brands and flavors.
aventurine suddenly grabs the ice cream on the top shelf, handing it to you. "this one, right?"
"ah-! you found it!" you exclaimed happily. "thought it was out of stock, phew." you both walked to the cashier, aventurine payed for it, and then walked to a nearby park to sit down.
you hummed happily, opening the ice cream pack and took a huge spoonful out of it, "it's so delicious! want some?" you guided a spoon to aventurine's mouth, and he politely declines.
aventurine pulls you closer to him, cuddling you. "happy now?"
"mhm! thanks, aven." you said, mouth full of ice cream. "sorry you had to wake up this early. i didn't even mean to wake you up."
"it's okay," aventurine replies. "i'd rather spend time with you like this. it's relaxing."
"aw, you're such a sweetheart." you teased, and aventurine frowns.
"okay, never mind, let's go home."
"hey, wait! i was just kidding!" you exclaimed, preventing aventurine from standing up. you took another spoonful of ice cream, the remaining bits of ice cream on the spoon you smeared across aventurine's cheek, making him gasp in shock and because of the coldness of the ice cream.
"hey, what was that for?" aventurine asks. you stood up, slowly backing away from aventurine and the bench.
"nothing- HEY STOP CHASING ME! I'M HOLDING MY ICE CREAM- AAAAAH!" you yelled, as aventurine started chasing after you.
it was no use trying to run away from him though, because for some odd reason, he's a fast runner.

Hiii guys guess what? I made a Sephiroth x Reader reeeheeheehee don't we love that

Kissing hee hee!!
A LITTLE bit of angst?
Cuddling, because I just want to hold him tbh
This is also on ao3 but idk how to hyperlink so it's also here under the cut 👇 ok goodnight
Human (Sephiroth x GN Reader)
Sephiroth was strong, there was no question about that. The world revered him as the legendary warrior he was, a title he had rightfully earned as his name became synonymous with power. He was cold and merciless in nature, and swift and accurate in combat. Talk of him among SOLDIER often consisted of speculation that he was not even human, but rather an indestructible weapon specially created for war. At least, that was what the lower class SOLDIERs claimed; the ones who looked up to him and watched in awe as he trained day in and day out. As his close friend, however, you recognized him as a human, and humans are not indestructible.
It was normal for Sephiroth to spend most of his days training alone or with others, or hidden away when Shinra demanded his time. Still, he rarely appeared worn out. He always maintained his polished image and calculated persona. As a SOLDIER you found yourself impressed with him, admiring his consistent strength and elegance. Yet, with the privilege of your friendship, you were more aware than others of the slightest changes in his appearance and behaviors. Those keen observations had made you aware lately of how dark circles had begun to slowly appear under Sephiroth's piercing eyes.
Today you were with him to help him spar, per his request. He bested you each round, as you expected, but you had been at an even greater disadvantage since you were focused on those subtle dark circles. You knew how well Sephiroth cared for himself, so it was jarring to notice this imperfection. It was unlike him.
"You look... damn... a bit tired lately," you huffed out when you became winded after a while of sparring. Sephiroth sighed as he lowered his sword.
"I have been facing trouble sleeping at my usual hours, but I am fine nonetheless. Do you need a moment?"
"Yeah, just... just a minute."
The two of you put up your weapons and took a seat at one of the benches there. You spent a few moments catching your breath while Sephiroth sat beside you, arms crossed over his broad chest and leg crossed over the other as he waited. Your eyes squinted as you looked over him for a drop of sweat. It was slightly annoying how he never seemed even the tiniest bit exhausted after fighting, you always thought to yourself.
"So, has there been anything that is keeping you from sleeping?"
Sephiroth shook his head and clicked his tongue. "You're still focused on that? I am fine, truly. Worry about yourself. Perhaps if you spent more time on that, you would be a better SOLDIER."
"You're good enough for the both of us," you grumbled at his teasing. "Is there something coming up? It just seems like you've been training harder than usual recently."
"In three weeks, I will be leading a mission to Nibelheim to inspect a Mako reactor. It will be the first big mission for one of our newest First-Class SOLDIERs, so I must be prepared for anything that could go wrong."
"Nibelheim... that's a long journey. Aren't you worried you won't function well if you're not getting enough rest?"
Sephiroth paused before responding. "I'm more than capable of functioning under less-than-adequate circumstances. You shouldn't worry yourself over my being."
Sephiroth continued his vigorous training over the next few weeks, leaving little time for anything else aside when the Shinra scientists called for him. You could swear that his dark circles were growing more prominent by the day. At times, there were odd hours of the night that you strolled down the halls of Shinra, and for many of those you saw Sephiroth back in the training room. His energy seemed different during these nights; the way he moved was more ferocious, as if his body was overflowing with anger. Intimidated chills would run through your spine just watching as he sliced through simulated targets. It made you wonder what kinds of thoughts went through his mind, and why he was not sleeping as he normally would at that hour. You never lingered around long enough to express your concern to him however, finding it best to leave him alone.
The concern eventually grew into worry when one day Sephiroth had met with you for another sparring session. As collected as he always presented himself to be, today his mind seemed to be lost somewhere beyond consciousness. His words were short and he broke eye contact uncharistically early. Even his movements dragged a bit as he prepared himself to train with you, lacking his typical sophistication. You also did not fail to notice how his blinks had become slow and drawn out, like his eyelids had to fight to open.
There was something else upon further inspection. Was that puffiness around his eyes?
"Are you ready now?" You were broken out of your study of him when Sephiroth spoke to you, Masamune in hand.
"Hold on, I need to put on my armor."
He nodded as he set aside his weapon and turned away, finding a seat and crossing his arms over his chest. You shook your worry out of your head and attempted to shift your attention to equipping your gear. However, you kept looking back at Sephiroth and observing him quietly sitting, head looking down. Something about how quiet he was struck you as odd though. It was not until a minute had passed of him being still that you decided to walk over and check on him. Perhaps he was just being patient and enjoying the moment of relaxation, you thought.
You soon realized that was not the case, however, as Sephiroth made no sign of acknowledgement the closer you came towards him. He was always acutely aware of his surroundings, even off the battlefield. As you stepped in front of him, eyes on his slightly hung head, you noticed his shut eyes and lips that were parted just enough to release delicate breaths. His whole body, miraculously upright, swayed steadily in time with his breathing. You hesitated in place, unsure of what to do. Your gaze fixated on how sweetly his long eyelashes rested on his cheeks, begging you not to disturb him. Even relentless warriors were not impervious; Sephiroth, too, was a human who needed his rest. But the logic in you argued the consequences of leaving him, and so with bated breath you reached out and softly touched his shoulder.
"Sephiroth?" you said in a hushed voice, too quiet for untrained ears. You watched Sephiroth's body jolt in surprise, but as quick as he awoke he had composed himself as if to play off that he dozed at all.
"Have you prepared?" he asked as he rose from his seat, wasting no moment to address his dozing, and walked past you. You turned back and watched him, your eyebrows furrowed with concern.
As he reached out to retrieve his weapon, you stopped him with a hand over his arm.
"Seph."
Sephiroth stood in place, stilled by the rare shortening of his name, unmoving his arm from your grasp and eyes trailing away to an unknown plane. You studied his face for any signs of opposition to your interjection, and upon finding none you gently began to pull him.
To your amazement and relief, Sephiroth made no attempt to resist and allowed you to pull him out of the training room. The way was silent as you lead him through corridors and to his quarters, passing by the occasional SOLDIER. As soon as you entered and shut the door, you saw Sephiroth begin to remove his coat and shoulder armor like he had been waiting to. Your face flushed watching his upper body go bare and you averted your eyes out of decency. Although you both have seen each other on several particular nights, it was difficult to not feel sheepish looking at his nude figure when it looked as good as it did.
You heard the tumble of his boots against the floor and the rustling of bed sheets, and when you looked back to Sephiroth he had already crawled into his bedding. He sighed heavily as his head sank into his pillow, bringing one hand up to rub his weary eyes.
Feeling satisfied that he settled down, you readied to leave his room until your eyes landed on the lit lamp atop the nightstand beside his bed. Sparing him from turning it off himself, you walked over and reached to switch it off with a click. Glancing back at him one last time, you then again turned away to leave him to his deserved rest. At least, you attempted to leave.
You were stopped when Sephiroth murmured your name, and within an instant he had grabbed your wrist and pulled you down. The sudden action made you yelp as you lost balance and fell on top of him. With his other hand going to your lower back, you were pulled even lower until Sephiroth connected your lips together. It had transpired so quickly you could only stay shocked in place, but as your hand rested against his chest and his vibrant eyes fluttered shut you too melted into the moment. Soft lips moved languidly against yours and, pressing closer to deepen the kiss, you forgot why you had brought Sephiroth back to his room. You tilt your head and let his tongue greet yours enthusiastically, feeling his fingers dig into your back while you tangled one hand into his silky hair. Even while on edge of sleep, the arrogant bastard still found the energy to reel you in.
After a minute you broke away to catch your breath and gaze at Sephiroth. Despite your mouth now being free, you felt breathless looking down at him. His pale skin had become painted with the faintest shade of blush and his endless silver hair gathered around his head. If angels roamed the Planet, he would be living proof of it. At this close proximity, your skin ached to tenderly feel him and worship his being. You resisted, favoring to await for his next move.
Sephiroth's chest rose and fell slowly beneath you, unaffected by your weight over him. He moved his hand up to kindly touch your cheek, thumb gliding over the skin as you leaned into his palm.
"Stay," Sephiroth muttered. A soft command.
You eyes darted across his face in a daze as one half of your brain, now fogged with thoughts of Sephiroth, fought against the other half that brought him to his room in the first place. "Don't you need to sleep?"
He chuckled. "Don't get too excited. I will. I haven't been able to properly rest for some time now, but I believe having a comforting presence beside me might help change that."
Your heart raced at Sephiroth's request. This was the most vulnerable he was offering himself to be with you, and it made your soul grow warm in a way that paled any passionate moment you two had shared together. You nodded slowly and moved to slide under the blankets and join him. His arms opened, inviting you in, and you nestled yourself into his embrace comfortably. Your cheek pressed against his pectorals as his arms closed around you, securing you against his large frame. Sephiroth relaxed, releasing a sigh, and pressed his face into the top of your head, soft breathes tickling you. You wondered if you might overheat from the combined warmth of the blankets and Sephiroth's body against your clothed flesh. You did not dare move an inch, though.
Exhaustion dragged Sephiroth quickly into a deep slumber, but you remained awake in his arms. The steady beat of his heart in your ears, a reminder of the powerfully graceful man, was too loud for you to even think of drifting away. So you laid there, watching and letting him hold you close, as if you would ward off unseen evils. Funny that Sephiroth would need any protection. Sephiroth: the relentless First-Class who has never bled on the battlefield. He who could be mistaken as something other than human; a personal toy soldier for Shinra to use in their grand game. But he was human. After all...
Those silent tears that graced his sleeping face were the loudest expression of pain you had ever seen.

"Possession vs Obsession" - Sub-Zero x reader x Scorpion - Chapter I
"Father, I will not stand for this!" Bi Han lashed out, voice booming throughout the Lin Kuei temple, as he paced around angrily "You think me to be some sort of child who can't decide for himself who to wed?!" His eyes challenged those of his elder. If it was anyone else, Sub Zero would quickly be put in his place, but his father was a just and kind man, who thought of the future of the Lin Kuei, his sons and the peace between clans. For it was in an endless war between the Lin Kuei and the clan of Shadow-weavers that took the lives many from both sides. And peace would finally be achieved between both elders, who dreamed of a brighter future, since Y/N's father stepped into power.
"My word is final." His father cut him off, voice denying the opportunity to argue "You are the future of this clan and I will not allow anymore bloodshed between our clans, not now, not after you."
Y/N waited nervously at the entrance of the temple, shaking her legs back and forth on the bench she sat on. The Shadow-weavers delegation had long since left, leaving her alone in this unknown place. She didn't know if these people were friends or enemies at this liminal point in time. She could either not survive until morning or live a tolerable life among them. Suddenly, she heard footsteps. Her head snapped in the direction from where they came from.
"Hello." A boy with ashen hair approached with a smile. He didn't look familiar to the other Lin Kuei. "It's nice to meet you." The girl smiled shyly, hesitantly, but didn't answer. "I'm sorry about my brother. He can be...well...like himself..." he chuckled quietly "But I promise, we aren't all like that. I assure you, we want to stop fighting and enjoy peace." He motioned to the bench, asking silently if he could sit and she moved over to the side to give him space. "My name is Thomas." He introduced himself. "I'm Y/N." They shook hands, smiling. "It's nice to meet a friendly face." Y/N scoffed and returned to staring at the canyons among the mountain. "I apologize again if Bi Han scared you. He really left a bad impression." Thomas grimaced at the memory of his brother lashing out, not even acknowledging her presence when they were introduced to each other.
"I'm not exactly dying to be here either." Y/N murmured, irony in her words "He didn't need to remind me why I don't want this." Thomas stayed quiet for a moment "Well, I wish I could help you, but the least I can do is make your life here bearable." He suggested, smiling warmly "If you need anything or just want to talk, I'll be here for you. I know what it's like to be new." She looked at him puzzled "I'm not...I was adopted by the Grand Master... I know from experience Bi Han doesn't like change."
Y/N stared at him silently, not knowing what to say, except just nodding in understanding. "But don't worry. I'm sure everything will be okay with you two." Thomas reassured with a smile again "Have you met our other brother? Kuai Liang?" Y/N shook her head no. "Let's go find him. You shouldn't be alone and sulking. I'll show you around."
Thomas was a breath of fresh air for her. A friendly face and warm heart, unlike these frozen wastelands. She missed her home so. This mountain was cold. Freezing in a different way. The caverns, where her clan temple was built were also cold, yet cozy. The shadows embraced her and kept her warm and safe. Up here, out in the open, she felt vulnerable. It was unnatural. The boy who wielded smoke was talking as they walked but she didn't hear him. She only wished to find a shadowy corner to hide in.
"What?" She shook her head out of her trance when Thomas asked for her attention. "Can you show me a power your clan can do?" He asked with a grin. Y/N giggled. With a gracious raise of her arm, the shade of a tree twisted and scurried to form a ball in her open palm, snaking up her body. Thomas watched in awe. Her fingers danced around the ball, shaping and forming it until a bird was created. It took flight when the girl pushed it away with her hand and it returned to the shadow of the tree. "Impressive. I bet you have amazing warriors." He commented. "I was trained by the Grand Master himself." She shrugged as if it was nothing and grinned.
"That was impressive indeed." A new voice frightened her "I would love to see what you can do in combat." A man with black hair, tied in a bun approached them. He was dressed in yellow, unlike the blue uniform usual Lin Kuei warriors wear. He bowed his head lightly at her to show respect "Don't misunderstand me. That was not an invitation." He smirked.
"This is who I told you about." Thomas introduced. But Y/N didn't hear him. She was lost in his intense gaze, jaw ajar and eyes wide from the sight of him. She felt her knees weak, almost bending from the intensity. Someone was calling her name. But it came as an echo. This man only had to say a handful of words... and she was lost... how was it possible? His demeanor projected intensity as a whole. Fire. Bi Han also had the intense and dominant demeanor, but... he was cold. Unwelcoming...
"Y/N?" Kuai Liang's worried voice brought her back to reality. Even though she wished to hear it over and over again, as his voice sounded like the end of an ice age within her. She giggled nervously. Thankfully, her blushing face could be explained by the freezing bite of the ice cold air. "I...yes...that's me." She paced around in her place anxiously. The two boys shared a look. "Are you feeling alright?" Kuai Liang asked, worry tainting his beautiful eyes. "I...uh..." the girl started, trying not to sound too ridiculous "It's quite cold...I suppose I'm just not used to the weather."
The boys looked at each other again, puzzled. Scorpion was first to let it go and spoke. "I'm sure today was stressful for you. Would you like me to escort you inside to rest?" Her heart skipped a beat at the proposition. She smiled, stuttering out an affirmative sentence, hoping he doesn't catch on to her nervousness. "If you need help with anything, don't be afraid to tell me or Thomas." Nodding again, mindlessly, she allowed him to lead the way towards the room she will be staying in.
Of course, with her husband-to-be, about whom she had completely forgotten until he reminded her of his presence by almost barging into the room late into the evening and laying eyes on her. For a time, she thought he won't speak. "Don't think I will accept this arrangement just because my father said I must." He broke the silence, voice as cold as the powers he wielded. Y/N rolled her eyes, but chose to not argue any more than she needed to. "The thought hasn't even crossed my mind." She sneered sarcastically and turned her back on him. "I tolerate you, girl." His voice came as a warning "Don't change that." A scoff made his eye twitch in irritation "That's not my decision to make."
Bi Han stepped closer to her, slowly, calculating. "Choose your words carefully." Y/N sighed and turned around to face him. "Should I make space for you in this room or will you prefer to be sleeping elsewhere?"

Atsumu miya angst
Angst, mention of intimacy
For months your relationship with Atsumu was a bit of a push and pull, you were jealous of the attention of his fans, but he did nothing but reassure you and be close to you whenever you needed him. After his training he always took you home, you studied together and he often accompanied you to bookstores. However in the last month everything started to change, he was always thoughtful, often cold and reluctant to open up since he had received some calls for interviews with the Japanese national team. That day he had called you to ask you to join him at the park where you used to walk after school. Once you reach him he doesn't even look at you and you realize something is wrong.
"Let's break up y/n, my relationship with you was just a challenge from my friend, i don't like you" He said in a cold tone, different from your usual Atsumu. You froze "Oh.. for real?" You start to build your shield. Atsumu nods, looking ahead with a cold expression. His usual cheerful behavior has completely disappeared.
"Yes.. I've never liked you"
He said, without turning to look at you, his words were like a knife plunging into your heart.
"Yeah like i'm going to buy that" you reply with a scoff, couldly.
At that moment, Atsumu looked to you, his eyes filled with annoyance,as he didn't like that you didn't believe him.
"Believe what you want, but i just used you for a stupid bet"
He said, his voice more annoyed than cold
"Look at me. Is this true?" You ask, trying to mantain you cold apperance.
At your request, he looked into your eyes with a cold gaze, his expression still cold.
"What do you mean? of course this is the truth, i never liked you, we were together only for a challenge."
"Okay."
At the short response you gave, a small grin formed on atsumu's lips, you were more hurt than he thought.
"That's it? Aren't you going to say anything more?"
Atsumu asked, clearly amused, he was expecting a different reaction from you.
"I was with you for the same reason" you laugh. "It was a bet." Atsumu's expression suddenly changed. From a cold and amused expression, it turned into a surprised one, his look was one of disbelief.
"What? You too? It was just a bet for you too?"
"Of course." You try to hurt him more and more with your words, while walking away.
But seeing you get up and walk away, Atsumu didn't make a move until eventually you were far from his sight.
His expression turned cold again, his hands were in the pockets of his hoodie.
He didn't expect you to say that, he expected you to try get him to change his mind. But you actually loved him, it wasnt a bet for you. But you rather break your own arm that show him how much he actually hurted you.
Atsumu is left there alone in the park, sitting on the bench, his mind filled with countless thoughts. He didn't realize at that moment that you actually loved him, and that your comment that it was also a bet was a lie.
As days passed, Atsumu began to have doubts about your words,but he was too prideful to go after you and ask you directly. The inarizaki team noticed a strange behavior from atsumu, he is quiet most of the time, his mind always in thought. Osamu and Suna were able to realize that something was not right.
Osamu then walked up to atsumu who was sitting on the school stairs
"Did something happen between you and y/n?"
Atsumu remained silent for a few moments, contemplating what to say. eventually he looked at osamu.
"How do you know?"
Osamu leaned against a wall near Atsumu, crossing his arms, as if they aren't twins and he didn't saw his strange behavior at home too.
"It's obvious. You're not yourself, you're never serious or quiet like this, something must have happened between you two, so spill the beans"
Atsumu let out a huff, before running a hand through his hair. He looked down at the ground before speaking.
"Its true, something happened...We broke up"
Osamu raised an eyebrow, surprised by the information. He didnt expect you two to have broken up since you were always been his lighthouse.
"Break up? I thought things were going well between you two. What happened?"
Atsumu looks up at osamu, a frown on his face, he looked a bit agitated
"She...She was with me for the same reason as me, I was only a bet for her too. She was just pretending to love me."
Osamu's eyes widen a bit as he heard Atsumu's words. He couldn't believe you were only with him for a bet.*.
"What? How are you so sure about that?"
Atsumu leaned his head back, staring up at the ceiling, his expression frustrated.
"Because when I told her that I no longer liked her and that I only started dating her for a bet, she said that for her it was the same. That for her it was also just a bet"
He explained, his voice betraying disappointment. Osamu let out a sigh, a thought crossing his mind
"You know, it's possible that she said that just to save her pride"
Atsumu raised his head, giving osamu a look.
"What are you talking about? If she wasn't using me then why did she say that? She should have tried to make me change my mind instead of accepting that it was mutually a bet"
Osamu sighs again, shaking his head.
"It's obvious you don't know her personality then. She could've said that to save her own pride, she probably expected you to change your mind without her having to throw herself at you. You've probably hurt her a lot in that moment, you know"
Atsumu’s eyes widened a bit. He knew Osamu is often right when it comes to these situations, but he couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt.
He let out a sigh before looking back down.
"Even if everything you're saying is true...it's too late. She probably hates me and I doubt she wants to listen to me" Osamu rolled his eyes, crossing his arms again.
"You're stubborn as a mule." He said with a slight tone of annoyance. "You'll never know unless you talk to her" Atsumu let out a huff, knowing Osamu is right.
"Easier said than done. She probably doesn't want to see me" Then he spot you nearby, talking with Kita.
Atsumu's expression slightly changed in surprise. He wasn't expecting you to be chatting with Kita. He silently looked at the two of you from afar, listening in on your conversation. Osamu, who was still leaning on the wall next to atsumu, saw how his gaze is fixated on you and kita. He let out a small chuckle.
"Seeing her with Kita, huh?"
Atsumu just grunted in response, still observing you and Kita. He felt a strange, annoying feeling in his chest, probably jealousy. Osamu chuckled once again, finding his reaction amusing. He pushed himself off the wall, placing his hands in the pockets of his pants.
"Looks like someone is getting jealous" Atsumu snapped his head towards osamu.
"Shut up, osamu. There's no reason for me to be jealous"
This time Osamu let out a laugh, clearly enjoying teasing atsumu
"No reason? Seeing your ex-girlfriend chatting and laughing with Kita doesn't bother you at all? I find it hard to believe" Atsumu couldn't deny that he feels annoyed by the sight of you laughing with Kita.
"Shut up. I don't care what she does now" He said in a cold tone, trying to convince himself more than osamu. Osamu raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it.
"Oh, really? So if she started dating Kita right in front of your eyes, you wouldn't care at all? You wouldn't be bothered by it even a little bit?"
Atsumu's eyes widen a bit at osamu's question. The mere thought of you dating Kita in front of him made him feel a strange mix of anger and jealousy. The images of you and Kita together formed in his head, only increasing his irritation. He clenched his hands into fists, his jaw tensing as he spoke through gritted teeth.
"I said shut up dammit"
He see you leaving kita to go on a bench and read a book. Atsumu turned his gaze towards you. Seeing you sit alone, his mind began to race with thoughts. This was the perfect opportunity to talk to you. Atsumu's eyes narrowed in determination. He pushed himself off the wall, taking a step forward in your direction and glanced back at Osamu, who was still standing there with a knowing smirk on his face. Osamu, sensing atsumu's intention, chuckled and spoke with a mocking tone.
"About time you grew a pair and went after her"
As Osamu spoke, atsumu gave him a glare, but didn't bother responding. He had already taken a few steps towards you, closing the distance between him and you.
"Y/n, please, can we talk for a minute?"
The familiar voice of atsumu caught your attention, causing you to turn around and see him just a few steps away. You froze for a moment, your eyes widening slightly at the sight of him.
"Yeah sure" you reply cold. Atsumu noted your cold expression, but nevertheless, his eyes met yours. He took another step closer, stopping a few feet away from you. He looked a bit nervous, his face betraying a hint of uncertainty.
"Alone? Somewhere more private?"
"Lead the way" Atsumu nodded and began walking, gesturing for you to follow. He led you through the school corridor, passing by a few students who glanced curiously at the two of you.
Eventually, he found an empty classroom, opened the door and went inside, holding the door for you. He let you enter the classroom first before closing the door behind him, shutting it with a soft thud. The room was suddenly quiet as the sounds of the students outside were muted. atsumu stood near the door, his back leaning against it, as he looked at you with a bit of nervousness in his eyes. He took a moment to collect his thoughts before speaking. His usual confident demeanor was replaced by a hint of vulnerability.
"Look, I... I wanted to talk... about the day we broke up... when I said I only started dating you for a bet. I didn't mean it. I only said that to save my pride, i didn't want to admit that I actually liked you more than i wanted to." You froze.
"So let me understand, why you wanted to broke up with me in the first place?" Atsumu let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair, he looked a bit embarrassed by his reasons. He avoided looking at you as he spoke.
"It's stupid, but the truth is... i was afraid"
You scoff. "About what?"
Atsumu looked down as he reply with his voice low.
"I was afraid because I actually liked you. I had never felt that way before, and it made me scared. I didn't know what to do, so I thought it would be better to end it with you cause... My work will be in volley and i know i will put my passion in the first place, and... i thought you would have be a problem to my dreams."
Your anger start to increase.
"So we dated for a year and instead of just tell me it started like a bet and deal with everything, you rather broke up? Is that right?" You cant believe how stupid he could be.
Atsumu nodded. He knew it sounded stupid, even more embarrassing when said out loud.
"That's right. I should have just told you the truth, but I was too afraid. I was so used to being careless and immature that I didn't know how to deal with my own feelings"
"Oh atsumu, and you think i'm actually going to believe you?" You look at him like a pathetic bug.
Atsumu looked up, his eyes meeting yours once again. He could see the doubt in your gaze.
"I know it sounds unbelievable, but I'm telling the truth. I wouldn't lie to you about this. I've been thinking about it a lot and I realized it's the truth"
Yeah sure like i'm believing you. For me it wasn't a bet anyway, i dated you cause i fell in love with you." Atsumu was surprised to hear you say that. His eyes widened a bit, taken aback by your confession. He had assumed you were also only with him for a bet, so this revelation was unexpected.
"You…. You actually fell in love with me?"
"Yeah but i was just stupid, and i realize it when you broke up with me. I should have known it was just a bet for you."
Atsumu flinched slightly at your words, guilt and shame washed over him. He realized how much he had hurt you with his actions
"I never meant to use you or lead you on. I was just... scared. I didn’t expect things to go so far, and before I knew it, I actually started caring about you but I was a coward"
"Well it's too late now" Atsumu's eyes filled with desperation, he took a few steps closer to you, his voice pleading.
"Please, don't say that. It's not too late. I still have feelings for you, I've realized how stupid I was and how much I care for you. Can't you just give me another chance?"
"No atsumu, you could have told me how you felt way earlier. Like when you told me you loved me after...out first time... but it was just a lie." Atsumu winced as you mentioned the time he had said he loved you out of habit and how good it felt to be in your arms.
"I know, I messed up and hurt you. I should've been honest with you from the start. I was stupid and immature. But I promise you, my feelings for you are real. Please, give me a chance to prove it to you"
"No, back off"
"Please, don't go. I can't lose you, not now. I'm sorry for everything. I'll do anything you want, just please... don't walk away from me"
"You ruined everything, deal with it." He's lucky you're not punching him out of anger, cause thats what you are feeling.
"Wait, please...don't do this. I was an idiot, and I know it's my fault, but don't just leave me like this. Give me another chance, I'll make it up to you. I promise"
"Why would i? Atsumu i will never, ever, believe any words you will say to me." Atsumu's heart sank as he watched you walk away. He desperately wanted to say something, but your firm words resonated in his mind. He couldn't blame you for not believing him, not after everything he had done.
He stayed there, frozen in place, watching you disappear from sight. The regret and guilt was overwhelming, and he cursed himself for being such an idiot and losing you.

If FPK made a ranking of all the different places in Hallownest, how would it look?
Dirtmouth - no need to explain it really, it's his home and that's where all his loved ones and his community live. No other place could fit this spot. Even if it's affected by the weather, which often makes it quite cold compared to many areas underground, he still loves it.
Greenpath - his favorite hunting ground, even if his favorite prey, Tiktiks, only lives in the upper regions (though I imagine they do spread all over the area after the end of the infection). But there's plenty of other food that he likes - Mosscreeps, Maskflies and Squits, and the dense moss makes it easier for him to ambush them. Not to mention, it has one of his favorite spots to hang out in all of Hallownest (the bench surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and vegetation) as well as many branches to rest on.
Forgotten Crossroads - similar to above, he hunts there frequently (it has a very high population of Tiktiks and Crawlids and many other tasty critters). It's nowhere near as pretty as Greenpath, and there aren't many spots to rest of hide, but it's very safe these days. Sure, there may be more travelers he bumps into now, and that can be awkward if he's feasting on a Tiktik when it happens, but at least he's close to home.
Fog Canyon - not the safest place for those who aren't careful, but thankfully he knows not to bother its inhabitants. My vision of it may include more paths that are safe to travel than we see in the game, so it is a relatively non-dangerous place if you avoid the acid pools. So once you learn to watch your step, you can really appreciate the beauty of the place. FPK likes to stop by whenever he visits WL in her Queen's Gardens mansion, and watch the Oomas and Uomas floating around peacefully. It's quite relaxing. Plus Monomon's archives are located there, so that's definitely a point of interest for him.
Queen's Gardens - he avoided the place for a long time out of fear of confronting WL, but also because of the presence of the Mantis Traitors. But he did eventually meet her, and after she freed herself and moved back to her old mansion, he started visiting her from time to time. The dense and beautiful vegetation has its charm, though there are still many thorny vines around so that makes it quite irritating to navigate through. And as much as he wants to be on friendly terms with WL, he finds her presence intimidating (and it reminds him too much of his emotional pain he experienced during their marriage), so being in the area does make him a little bit uncomfortable, and that's why it would be below Fog Canyon.
Howling Cliffs - there's plenty of Tiktiks and Crawlids to catch and eat, but the area is very difficult to navigate, with many steep cliffs and dangerous trails. Not to mention the wind - it's located on the other side of the mountain, which doesn't lead to an enclosed valley like where Dirtmouth is situated. That means that the region is noticeably colder, so he only travels here in search of food. The road that goes through the newly renovated mountain tunnel (and connects Dirtmouth to the Howling Cliffs) does make reaching this hunting ground very easy and safe, but the cold usually discourages him from it. Plus his potential food is much better at climbing cliffs than he is, so he's much better off hunting elsewhere.
Resting Grounds - a very peaceful area, though not one he visits particularly often. He mostly goes there to pay his respects to the ones who passed, especially the dead Dreamers - he leaves little offerings at their shrine to thank them for their sacrifice. Its safety is the main reason why it ranks higher than many other regions.
Kingdom's Edge - a very similar situation to the Resting Grounds, it's lower on the list due to the more dangerous fauna, the distance from home, and the somber reminder of the fate of his species in the form of his old corpse. If he travels here, it's to try to remember more details from his past life, but also to catch young Hoppers - their bodies are filled with blood of their prey, and that makes them a tasty snack for Grimm, especially if he's unable to get it otherwise.
The City of Tears - while it is in a much better state than during the infection, it's still very dangerous - the criminal activity is high, and many of the bugs that recognize him as the old king don't like him very much. He prefers to avoid confrontation, so he rarely visits the city, usually only at Lurien's invitation or to visit a particular shop, and only when he's accompanied by Grimm. Definitely not his favorite place, but when he's safe with Grimm and ignores the occasional mean comments, it's not the worst.
Crystal Peak - a beautiful, yet very dangerous region. He only visits the little area you can get to using the Dirtmouth lift. The crystals are very beautiful and he likes to bring chunks of them home as little gifts, but other than that there isn't much for him to find there.
Fungal Wastes - he doesn't like the smell of fungi very much, and the whole area reeks of it. So that's already a huge reason for him to avoid it. But another big one is the Mantis Tribe - while he doesn't get attacked on sight by them, he still prefers not to get on their nerves, and opts not to disturb them. Aside from that, there's just no reason for him to go there - the mushroom of the Mushroom Clan are sentient, so they're obviously off the menu, plus again, he hates the smell (and probably wouldn't like the taste).
The Hive - an area he's not welcome in, so he doesn't go there so as not to bother them. He heard that the hive is raising its new queen, so he does hope to eventually be on good terms with her, but until then he avoids it.
Deepnest - a very dangerous area that he almost never visits. He would go there to pay his respects at Herrah's final resting place, but it's too dangerous to reach it. And the critters there are too risky or too big to hunt.
Ancient Basin - his first hunting ground after waking up from hibernation, though one he was very happy to leave behind. As you'd expect, there are many painful memories associated with this place and its subregions, so these days he only visits it to leave small gifts at the shrine he made for the vessels at the Abyss entrance. He stays there for a little bit, and then leaves as soon as he can. The Palace Grounds are an area he tries to move through quickly on his way from the Stag station, he doesn't like thinking about it.
Royal Waterways - its placement at the very bottom might be surprising, until you remember what the area looks like and that he's terrified of deep water. The region is flooded, the air is gross and smells horrible, and the only creature that he would enjoy eating is the Pilflip. But all the deep, terrifying water just isn't worth it. It's a disgusting area, he shudders at the mere thought of it, and avoids it like a plague. If there was one place that he would want to visit, it's the Junk Pit - there's many trinkets and other interesting objects he could use in his workshop. But the path to reach it is simply too terrifying for him, so he's very thankful that Hornet offers to travel there for him.

Training Camp
Tsukishima x F!Reader - fluff
TW: college au, drinking mention, mild cursing, jealousy, pretty fluffy. There is one mention of reader having long hair.
A/N: wake up besties, Pip posted. I’ve been writing this off and on for like months just as a comfort fluff piece but I decided to finaly share it after some sweet feedback. I hope you like it. It’s v self-indulgent bc i am a SIMP.
Everyone is 18+
Hinata was yelling.
Tsukishima rubbed his temple. It was 6 AM and the team was on their way to an intercollegiate training camp. He was not excited. The cold bus was a stark contrast to the soft warm bed he left too early this morning.
The training camp was going to gather a few different schools so he was going to see his friends, Bokuto and Kuroo. He was hoping to work on a few more blocks with them, to improve his playing. However, having to deal with HInata and Nishinoya on the bus was testing his patience.
"Screaming isn't going to make you any taller, idiot." He hissed at Hinata. Hinata made a face and was about to shout back until he was interrupted by Ukai.
"We are pulling into the camp. I expect you guys to be on your best behavior as you're representing Karasuno University." He parked the bus and the guys started loading out their bags. Everyone was buzzing, excited to see their friends and test out new skills. Tsukishima pulled his headphones around his ears and started moving his bags to the team dorms.
"OI TSUKKI!" A boisterous voice shouted from behind him. He was immediately enveloped in a hug that lifted his tall frame off the ground.
"Bokuto...it's like 7 AM." Akaashi muttered, wiping sleep from his eyes. He nodded at Tsukishima who was grateful toward the dark-haired man for getting the giant owl to let him go.
"Tsukishima! Aren't you glad to see us?" Another cocky voice came from the corner. Kuroo sauntered in before clapping him on the shoulder. Tsukishima rolled his eyes.
"I feel like I see enough of you two, especially since you added me to a groupchat that you won't let me leave."
"To be fair, they won't let us leave either." Kenma muttered from behind his Switch. Akaashi chuckled in agreement.
"Anyway, Karasuno better be prepared because the practice matches are gonna go HARD!" Kuroo said laughing. Kenma rolled his eyes and they headed back to the Nekoma dorms. Bokuto's laugh echoed in the hallway and Tsukishima was just grateful the actual practice wasn't starting for another two hours so he could nap.
"Welcome all to the intercollegiate training camp for 2020! We are glad to have you all here!" The man running the camp said. He was an older athletic coach and was going to assist with match setup and drills, though individual matches and team practices would be run by each respective coach.
"Sorry I'm late, I got stuck in traffic!" You said running into the gym, tossing your bag on the nearest bench.
"Ah! Glad to see you –" The older coach started before the yelling commenced.
"Y/N!!!" Bokuto shouted, running and spinning you around. Kuroo ran up as well and gave you a tight squeeze.
"GUYS STOP HOGGING HER!" Noya shouted before running up to squeeze a hug in as well.
It seemed all the older boys knew who you were, though Tsukishima had never seen you before. A few other guys shouted greetings and waved, from each team. You smiled and Tsukishima felt his body grow tingly. He rolled his neck and focused on the older coach, who began speaking again.
"As many of you know, this is Y/N. She's our resident medic and will be taking care of anything you guys need. Y/N, a few words?"
You grinned. "Hello guys! I'm glad to be back here. As Coach Sato said, I am Y/N, your medic. Please meet with me before you leave today to get my contact info in case anything occurs after hours and you need assistance. I'm in the Medic dorm, so feel free to come see me whenever!"
You bowed slightly and waved before turning back to the older man.
Tsukishima wasn't sure why he felt restless all of a sudden but he pushed it out of his mind as the coach discussed the agenda for the day.
----
Day one was grueling. The drills were tough and since everyone had vastly improved, everyone had to work harder to top each other. Tsukishima saw you a couple of times, discussing things with Coach Ukai and Coach Sato. You were always smiling, and it seemed everyone was drawn to you. You complimented Daichi on his receives, laughed with Tanaka and Noya, and even got Kageyama to crack a smile. You were walking towards where Tsukishima stood when a guy from another team skidded across the floor,
You jogged over to pull him up and check him over. Tsukishima couldn’t help but feel a pang of something...wash over him. Why was he so...aware of everything you did? You were just some girl whom he didn’t even know. Yet, like everyone else at the camp, he was drawn to you for some reason. He had to snap out of it. He put all his effort into playing for the rest of the session and even Daichi complimented his newfound energy.
They were wrapping up for the day and Tsukishima headed to the bench to grab some water when he felt a soft voice calling his name. He turned around and you grinned at him.
“You’re...Tsukishima Kei right? I’m Y/N! Sorry to bug you, I just wanted to give you my number.”
Tsukishima gulped, swallowing too much water. His face reddened as he tried not to spit up water all over you. You laughed, the sound pouring over his heart like warm honey, and patted him on the shoulder.
“Sorry! That sounded weird. It’s just in case something happens I can rush over if you need medical assistance. Sometimes you’ll get hurt in practice and walk it off only for the pain to worsen late at night or something. So don’t be afraid to text me any time of day, if needed.”
He nodded and handed you his phone. You input your number and smiled before heading over to speak with the coaches again. He looked at his phone.
Y/N 🚑 😉
Fuck.
----
“Tsukki!” Bokuto’s booming voice echoed across the hall. Tsukishima looked up from his book.
“Kuroo, Akaashi, Kenma, and I are gonna work on some blocks later. You should join us!”
Tsukishima looked back down at his book. He was exhausted and about to tell Bokuto no until Kuroo walked into the room.
“Bo, I reserved the back gym and Y/N agreed to stay with us for practice tonight.” He said, tossing a volleyball in the air. “Tsukishima, you joining? Or are you too tired? I know you crows are weak.”
“Shut up, stupid cat. I’m fine and I need to practice some blocking anyway.” Tsukishima said a little too quickly.
Kuroo cocked an eyebrow. “You...you of all people are agreeing to extra practice? We have to drag you to spend time with us and now you are so...eager? Interesting…”
Kenma, who was behind him smashing buttons on his Switch, smirked without looking up from his screen.
“Probably because of Y/N.”
Kuroo let out his classic hyena cackle, eyes wide.
“NO! You have a thing for Y/N?” He asked incredulously.
Bokuto’s jaw dropped. “TSUKKI YOU LOVE Y/N?!”
Tsukishima rolled his eyes, trying to hide the blush creeping up his ears.
“No I don’t LOVE Y/N. I don’t even know her.” Tsukishima said, trying to remain casual.
“You wouldn’t stop staring at her the entire day. Every time she was on your side of the court, you slammed on the ball like some final boss. Also, you choked on your water when she talked to you.” Kenma said, still engrossed in his game.
Tsukishima glared at him. Kenma ignored him, unfazed.
Kuroo grinned wickedly.
“So, we have a new plan. Get Tsukishima to confess to Y/N.”
Bokuto clapped. ‘YEAH! Tsukki, you gotta tell her how you feel.”
Tsukishima turned back to his book. “I don’t FEEL anything. I don’t even know her. I’ll see you guys tonight. To practice, not for some ridiculous love story.”
Kuroo and Bokuto shared a conspiratorial look.
Operation: Tsukki and Y/N was a go.
----
“Y/N! Fancy to see you here!” Bokuto said grinning mischievously. You furrowed your brow.
“Did Kuroo not tell you I was going to join you guys tonight?” You turned toward the raven-haired boy, who glared at Bokuto.
“Yes, Bokuto just doesn’t listen. Anyway, we are just waiting for one more...there you are!” Kuroo threw a megawatt smile to someone behind you. You spun around to come face to chest with Tsukishima. His gaze narrowed as he looked down at you. You gave a small smile and cautiously stepped back.
“Oh! Tsukishima. I didn’t realize you’d be joining! Great, because I don’t know if I can handle these four by themselves.” You smiled, gesturing to Kuroo, Kenma, Bokuto, and Akaashi.
Kuroo tossed a volleyball up in the air. “Now that we are all here, let’s practice.” You took this as your cue, to head to the sidelines and finish up work for the day. Once you were safely out of earshot, Kuroo leaned in towards Tsukishima.
“‘This is your chance. Show her how good you play. We’ll even go easy on you!”
Tsukishima shook his head.
“I’m not here for some girl. I’m here to get better and improve. Play me to win or don’t play.” His honey-tinted eyes held a fire behind them that Kuroo had never seen before. He shrugged and the boys split up on either side of the net to start practicing.
You watched them from the sidelines, while filling out your reports for the day. You knew most of the guys from previous training camps. Tsukishima, being a first year, hadn’t met you until today and you didn’t get a whole lot of time to interact with him throughout practice so you could tell he still hadn’t warmed up to you just yet.
You watched as the guys jumped, and methodically blocked the ball from scoring on their respective sides. It was amazing to see really, especially because you knew these guys outside of the court. Akaashi, who was one of the sweetest people you knew, was slamming the ball over the net like a man in war. Bokuto, who normally was all over the place, was hyper focused on preventing the ball from passing the wall of him and Tsukishima. Even Kenma, who normally showed very little passion outwardly, did an impressive dig to stop the ball from hitting the floor.
You tried to gauge some sort of personality from Tsukishima. He was methodical, calculating every move from each member and putting himself in a way that forced his opponents to do what he wanted. His demeanor changed from apathetic to focused and driven and for a first year, he had a lot of skill. You hadn’t had a chance to really gauge who he was outside of a first impression so you made a mental note to focus more on him in the coming week.
Your phone buzzed, pulling you away from the practice.
Yūji : hey bbygirll ;P
You rolled your eyes. Terushima was always overly flirtatious, though harmless.
Y/N: Hey Yuuji, what’s up?
Yūji : throwing a party ths wknd N u better goooo ;)
Y/N: mmm...maybe. Who’s all going to be there?
Yūji : literally evry1. Tendou n Ushiwaka, Oikawa (🤢) and those guys from Seijoh, some guys from inarizaki, maybe some from ur training camp thing, and YOU
Y/N: FINE. But I might bring backup since last time I had to take care of your drunk ass.
Yūji : :D can’t wait to see you
“Y/N!”
You looked up. The guys had finished their practice and were staring at you.
“Sorry, Terushima was talking about some party this weekend. You guys going?”
Kuroo nodded, “Thought about dragging Kenma to it. You going?”
You shrugged. “Maybe. I’ll go if you guys go, because I don’t wanna have to deal with that mess alone again.”
Bokuto laughed. “We should go together then. It will be a good way to end this week.”
He looked at Tsukishima.
“You have to go with us Tsukki!”
Tsukishima shook his head. “No way. A party with loud, obnoxious drunk people? I’m fine, thanks.”
You giggled.
“Come on Tsukishima! It’ll be nice to blow off steam from this week, plus I’d kill to see you at a party.”
Tsukishima looked over at you, his expression unreadable.
“Fine.”
-----
The rest of the week was tough but fun. You got to see all the boys improve, and you even managed to get Tsukishima to crack a smile a few times. You couldn’t deny that you were showing a slight favoritism toward the tall blonde. You told yourself it was because he was so difficult to reach, but you couldn’t help but seek him out in each practice.
Turns out you didn’t have to look far today.
“Medic!” Coach Ukai shouted. You looked up from your clipboard and saw a group of boys crowded in the Karasuno area. You jogged over there and the boys cleared.
Tsukishima was standing in the center of the circle, clutching his hand. You could see it was red, swollen, and bleeding. You pulled on gloves, and started inspecting it, gently squeezing and prodding to see where the pain was at.
You pushed on his knuckle and he let out a low groan.
“Ouch. It looks like you may have dislocated this. Come with me back to the medic bay, and I’ll patch you up.” You led him by the elbow to your office. He remained silent but you could hear his breathing had become heavy.
You motioned for him to sit in the chair as you started pulling out different creams and aids to ease the bleeding first.
He hissed as you applied pressure to his finger.
“Sorry, Tsukishima. It’s just to stop the bleeding so we can start working on your knuckle. This is going to sting okay? So keep your eyes on mine.”
Your voice was soothing and he felt his heart slow down as you started pulling out some sort of tonic. You looked up at him and he tried to focus on anything else but the blush creeping on his face. You smiled at him and then…
“FUCK!”
The tonic you sneakily applied on his wound BURNED. You held his hand firmly, while avoiding the injured area.
“Don’t move too much or you could hurt yourself worse.” You said while wrapping a small bandage around his finger.
Your hands felt so delicate in his. He almost forgave you for the stinging. Almost.
“Okay, let’s look at the swelling. Can you move it at all?”
He tried and his finger gave a pathetic twitch.
“Okay, so that’s not broken. I think we’ll just splint it up, but you may want to follow up with your doctor if it becomes more of an issue after a couple of days.”
“Can I still play?” He asked.
“Definitely not today, but you should be good to go by next week. Unfortunately, you’ll be out for the rest of this week.” You gave him a sympathetic look. “I’m sorry.”
He exhaled slowly and nodded, though you could tell he was disappointed, which surprised you a little. You busied yourself putting away your tools and pulling out the wraps. “So you really like volleyball huh? Wait…sorry, of course you do. Just…I didn’t peg you for being so passionate.” Face burning, you turned around digging in a cabinet.
“I’m not like Bokuto or Hinata, if that’s what you mean.” His voice was quiet and you snuck a glance back at him. He was staring at his finger. You waited for him to continue but he stayed silent.
Grabbing the supplies you needed you sat in front of him and pulled your tray next to you. “Yeah those two can be a little…enthusiastic.” You laughed and reached for his hand. He hesitated a moment and you grinned. “No more tonics, I promise.”
His hand dwarfed yours and he felt his mouth go dry as you delicately ran bandages over the injury. Why did he suddenly become hyper aware of how close your knee was to his? He looked away, blood rushing in his ears. He suddenly realized it had gotten silent and you were looking at him. Fuck. “Uh, sorry.”
You smiled, that smile that made his hands tingle with electricity. “I was just asking if you were excited about the party this weekend.”
Fuck, The party.
“I know, it can be a lot. But I’m glad you’re going. I’m excited to see you in party mode.” You winked and he felt his heart stop for a second. “Anyway, you’re all done.” You let go of his hand and he tried to push away the emptiness it felt now. “I’ll let Coach Ukai know and I’ll see you this weekend.”
—-
“Hey Tsukki…how was your chat?” Kuroo sidled up to Tsukishima who was sipping water on the bench. Tsukishima rolled his eyes. “What are you talking about?”
Bokuto slid on the opposite side, sandwiching Tsukishima in the middle. “So did you tell Y/N you love her?”
Tsukishima glared at him. "No. And I don't love her. She just bandaged my finger."
"Oooh romantic. You guys were in there for a while." Kuroo said, winking. Tsukishima forced himself not to look in your direction, instead focusing intently on his water bottle.
A whistle blew and the guys headed to their respective teams. Tsukishima allowed his gaze to wander over to you. You were looking at your phone, a small smile on your face. You must have felt his gaze because you looked up, meeting his eyes. You shot him a small grin, before you were distracted by Lev tripping on a mat.
Tsukishima looked back down at the bandage wrapped neatly around his finger.
"Fuck."
—-
"Okay boys. We gotta make sure Tsukki looks good." Kuroo declared, dragging Kenma, Bokuto, and Akaashi behind him.
Tsukishima looked up from his book. "What are you talking about?"
"The party tonight. You have to dress to impress. You want Y/N to fall for you, don't you?" Bokuto said, rummaging through the closet. Kuroo looked Tsukishima up and down. "Is that what you're wearing?"
Tsukishima rolled his eyes. "Yes. I don't need fashion advice from a rooster and an owl, thanks." He didn't mention that he had gone through three different shirts before settling on the current one he was wearing.
"He looks fine. We better get going anyway." Akaashi said, looking at his phone. Kuroo looked at Tsukishima smugly.
"Don't worry. She's meeting us there. So we can pep talk you on the way."
Tsukishima grabbed his jacket. "You are delusional. There's nothing between us." He turned away, trying to ignore the buzzing in his stomach. The guys headed to Bokuto's car, piling in as Bokuto drove to the party.

Bass boomed from the house and people were strewn everywhere. Tsukishima saw a few people he recognized as he walked in. Oikawa and his cronies laughing in the corner, the Miya twins dominating the beer pong table. Kuroo led them to Terushima, who was doing a shot of an amber liquid.
"Yo, where's Y/N?" Kuroo asked. Terushima made a face as the liquid went down, before pointing to the staircase. Tsukishima turned.
You looked incredible. Your hair was down from its usual ponytail, and it spilled down your back in long waves. You wore a tight shirt and jeans that hugged all of your curves and had that gorgeous smile on your face. You were standing next to Ushijima, listening intently to him discuss something before you nodded, replying back with something that made the large man smile.
"Oi Y/N!!" Bokuto yelled, and you turned, blinking at the interruption. You excused yourself from Ushijima and walked to where the guys were standing.
"Hey guys! Glad you finally made it-" You started before Osamu Miya tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around and he gave you a tight hug. "Hey come be my partner for this. `Tsumu got Suna and he's scary good." You nodded before waving a quick goodbye to the guys and followed Osamu to the beer pong table.
"Don't worry Tsukki, she's just really popular. We need drinks." Bokuto said, dragging Tsukishima to the cooler in the kitchen. Tsukishima narrowed his eyes. "I'm not worried. I didn't come here for some girl."
Bokuto fished two beers out of the cooler, handing Tsukishima one. "Exactly. Play it cool. Girls love that."
A cheer came from the beer pong table and Tsukishima glimpsed Osamu carrying you in a celebratory hug.
"Tch."
Kuroo sidled up next to him. "Miya's been desperate forever. She won't give him a chance. In other news, Oikawa brought his fan club with him." He rolled his eyes, gesturing to the gaggle of girls that were whispering next to the pack of Seijoh boys. They were all young, way too young to be at this college party and definitely overdressed. Oikawa and his crew barely gave them a second look, choosing instead to laugh amongst themselves.
The tall one, Mattsukawa, Tsukishima thought his name was, turned to Oikawa and whispered something before stalking toward the table.
As Tsukishima watched, he headed toward you. He saw a glimpse pass between Osamu and him before Matsukawa approached you. You listened, before nodding and laughing, turning to say something to Osamu and walking back to Oikawa's group. Oikawa's fans shot daggers at you, as you hugged Oikawa and talked animatedly with the group. Tsukishima frowned into his drink. You were friendly with everybody. He didn't know why he had let Kuroo get into his head.
The room felt hot and he slipped out the back door. The cool night air was refreshing on his skin. The house was near a dock, which was probably not the safest for drunk people, but it was quiet. Tsukishima walked along the wooden planks, the party sounds dying down as he moved further away.
The moon was bright, reflected on the water. He remembered an old story his mom used to tell him, something about a kingdom on the moon. He sipped his drink.
"There you are."
He turned around. You walked towards him and sat next to him at the edge of the dock. He became very aware of how alone you both were out here.
"I was looking for you. Guess parties aren't really your thing, huh?" You laughed, pulling a bottle of water out and taking a sip.
He shook his head. "People aren't really my thing." He cringed internally. Why did he sound so pretentious?
"I definitely understand that." You nodded, looking out towards the water.
He blinked. "You seem pretty popular."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt his ears burn. Now you would think he was some crazy stalker, watching your every move.
Surprisingly, you didn't seem fazed.
"I know a lot of people. It comes with the territory. But, sometimes I feel like…I don't know. None of them really know me? Ugh that sounds cliche, I know." You groaned.
He laughed, in spite of himself. "That does sound cliche."
You laughed. "Tsukishima! You're supposed to pretend I said something profound, not agree with me!"
Tsukishima shrugged, biting back a smile. He liked the way his name sounded on your tongue. You said it almost like a song, Tsukishima.
You scooted closer to him on the dock. "But cliches are cliches for a reason, right? There's some truth to them, I think." Your arms wrapped tightly around yourself and you shivered.
Tsukishima unzipped his jacket and draped it over you. "Here. Aren't medics supposed to be prepared for anything?"
You smiled, grateful for the warmth. "Well yeah, but then we can't steal jackets from grumpy volleyball players." You teased.
You were inches apart now. Tsukishima could see the glitter in your lip gloss, reflecting the moonlight. Your lips looked really soft. He felt his face burn and turned away, grateful for the darkness.
The wind blew a heavy breeze and he shivered in spite of himself. Without a second thought, you wrapped your arms around him.
His pulse raced. He could feel his heartbeat in his ears and smell the sweet perfume you wore as it enveloped him. He froze and felt you shrink back.
"Sorry! I thought, since I stole your jacket I…uh…" You stammered and a buzzing noise came from your pocket. You fumbled with your phone and answered it.
"Yeah. What?! No. No. So? Why did you- no please. Well can anyone else-? Uh-huh. But- I-..." You frowned as the line went dead. You looked upset, your brow furrowed and bit your lip.
"Um, so that was Kuroo. Bokuto got drunk and threw up in the car and so he asked me to take you to the dorms since they don't have room. Um…yeah." You trailed off, fidgeting with the zipper on the jacket you wore.
Tsukishima got the feeling you were not excited about spending time in a car with him.
"I can just find a ride."
Your eyes widened. "No! I mean, I don't mind. We are going to the same place. Um, here's your jacket. I parked uh, pretty close so we can just head there right now." You hopped up, yanking his jacket off and handing it to him stiffly. He blinked and took it from your hands. You avoided his gaze and you led the way to your car.
"Door is unlocked." You said and he opened the door. A waft of your perfume, that damned intoxicating scent, washed over him. He squeezed into the passenger seat and you fiddled with the radio, tuning to an old rock station before checking your mirrors and backing out.
Your hands drummed on the steering wheel as you drove, determined to not look at Tsukishima. He looked out the window, the tension in the car thick.
What happened to make you switch your mood so fast? You seemed jumpy, almost in fear of him and he was 1000% sure you would rather be anywhere else.
You pulled into the parking lot of the dorms and stared straight ahead, your knuckles white. Tsukishima waited a moment before undoing his seatbelt.
"Er, thanks."
You nodded, still avoiding eye contact.
"Of course, no problem. Sleep well." He closed your door quietly so as to not disturb the dorms and slipped into his room.
You finally sighed, looking at your passenger seat where his dark jacket laid on the seat.
"Fuck."
—
Tsukishima quietly slipped through his door and flicked on the light.
"Hey hey hey how was it?!" Bokuto yelled and Akaashi shushed him. Tsukishima stumbled back.
"What the hell?"
Kuroo clapped him on the shoulder. "I told you, we got your back. So did you kiss her??" Even Kenma looked up from his game.
Tsukishima frowned. "No. What the hell? I thought you were drunk." He said, pointing at Bokuto.
Akaashi smiled. "Of course not. I wouldn't let him get drunk and drive." Bokuto nodded solemnly.
Kuroo shot his signature cat-like grin. “We told a tiny white lie. But more importantly, did you make a move?!”
The boys waited impatiently. Tsukishima sat down on his bed.
“No.”
Bokuto jumped up. “What?! Why Tsukki????” He cried out, Akaashi desperately trying to shush him.
Kuroo stared incredulously at Tsukishima. “What? Why not? You two looked cozy on the dock!”
Tsukishima narrowed his eyes. “How did you see us at the dock?”
Kenma shrugged, turning back to his game. “It’s a Pokestop. I was trying to catch a Wartortle.”
Tsukishima rolled his eyes. He looked at his phone, scrolling past your contact info, the winking emoji taunting him from the small screen.
Kuroo sat down beside him. “What happened, bro?”
Tsukishima took a deep breath.
“Nothing. We talked on the dock and then she got really weird and distant and it was very clear she did not want to give me a ride, thanks for that by the way, and she drove us here and barely spoke to me. She didn’t even look at me when I left.”
Three pairs of eyes stared at him stunned.
“Wait, what? She was VERY clearly into you based on the picture Kenma sent us.” Kuroo said, scrolling through his phone. “Look.”
He pulled up a picture of you and Tsukishima sitting very close on the dock. It was blurry and far away but he could make out the image of you in midlaugh. If he hadn’t been there, he wouldn’t have believed that was the same girl who barely spoke two words the entire drive home.
“I don’t know! She just started stuttering and wouldn’t talk to me.” Tsukishima said, exasperated.
Bokuto looked close to tears. Akaashi hummed. “Well what happened before she started acting strange?”
Tsukishima thought back. “She was shivering because she was dumb and didn’t bring a jacket. I lent her mine and we were fine. And then she hugged me and when she pulled away she got distant.”
The room was silent. Then Kenma spoke up. “Did you hug her back?”
Kuroo laughed. “Of course he did Kenma, what kind of question is that?” He looked at Tsukishima and then frowned. “Are you fucking serious right now?”
Even Bokuto looked aghast. “You didn’t hug her back? She gives great hugs, what the hell, Tsukki!”
Akaashi cleared his throat. “I think what they are trying to say is, that was a stupid move. She thinks you rejected her.”
Tsukishima frowned. “What?! I didn’t have time to react. She was hugging me and I just…I froze, okay? I don’t do well with that stuff. By the time I realized what was happening, she was already handing me my jacket.”
Bokuto facepalmed. Kuroo grabbed Tsukishima by the shoulders, shaking him. “YOU LET HER GIVE YOUR JACKET BACK?!”
Akaashi groaned. “So now she thinks you rejected her and probably only gave her your jacket out of necessity.”
Even Kenma looked annoyed. “Practice is going to be weird tomorrow.”
Kuroo looked over at Tsukishima and frowned. “Wait, where’s your jacket?”
Tsukishima looked down.
“Fuck.”
—--
Tsukishima woke up and stared at the ceiling. Coach Ukai pounded at his door.
“Up and at ‘em! Just because you’re finger’s broken doesn’t mean you can stay in bed!”
He sighed, throwing on his practice gear. He stared at his phone, willing a text to come in from you. Or maybe you would just pretend he didn’t exist. That might be helpful too. He stared at the ground.
Ukai pounded at the door again and Tsukishima sighed.
When he got to the gym, he glanced at the area you usually worked, near the coaches. There was no sign of you. He re-tied his laces, fiddling with the knots.
“She’s not here yet.” Kuroo muttered from behind him. Tsukishima looked up. “Weird, because she’s never late.” He looked pointedly at Tsukishima before he headed back to the Nekoma team and Tsukishima frowned.
With each slam of the door, he expected to see you saunter in, laughing as you carried your clipboard. When Coach Sato blew his whistle, you still hadn’t arrived.
“Teams, we expect some good matches today. As you may have noticed, Y/N is not here today as she is under the weather. If you have any injuries, please reach out to Coach Itto here who will assist you for the day.”
A short man bowed to the teams and Coach Sato blew the whistle again.
Tsukishima headed to the area where Karasuno was stretching. Nishinoya was talking to Tanaka.
“Sucks that Y/N is sick today. I was gonna show her my new receive.” He said and Tanaka nodded.
“I heard there was some wild party last night. Maybe she’s hungover?” He guessed, laughing. Sugawara, who was stretching next to them, frowned. “I doubt it. She’s responsible and wouldn’t do something like that. I hope she feels better soon.” He noticed Tsukishima staring. “Tsukishima, aren’t you two friends? If you see her, tell her we hope she feels better.”
Tsukishima looked down, saved by Ukai’s whistle.
—-
Your phone buzzed.
Bokuto: Hey Hey! Are you feeling okay?
You smiled at the screen, typing a message back before collapsing onto your pillow.
Y/N: I’m okay, just a little under the weather. How about you?
Bokuto: I’m doing great! I gotta go tho because Akaashi is staring at me. Bye!
You grinned. He was definitely cheery for a person so drunk he threw up in his own car the night before. You sank back into bed.
You knew it was a coward’s solution, avoiding Tsukishima by missing practice. But ugh, you felt like an idiot. You were sure he liked you, he gave you his jacket for crying out loud. But then when you stupidly made a move, he just…stared at you. You shivered thinking about his look when you let go of him. Ugh, he probably thought you were some lovestruck schoolgirl.
You groaned, covering your face with your blanket. Peeking out from under the covers, you spotted his jacket on your desk. He had been so freaked out, he left it in your car. Now it taunted you as a reminder of how you threw yourself, literally, at him.
—-
The last whistle blew in the gym and Tsukishima grabbed his water bottle as he turned to leave. He ran smack into Hinata.
“Oi Saltyshima! Watch where you are going!” The tangerine yelled at him, rubbing his head. Hinata carried a box in his other hand.
“What’s that?” Tsukishima asked, gesturing to the box. Hinata smiled wide.
“We are going to take snacks to Y/N’s dorm so she feels better. You want to come with us?”
A few other boys perked up from their respective teams, including unfortunately, Bokuto and Kuroo. Kuroo sidled up next to Tsukishima.
“He would love to go, RIGHT TSUKISHIMA?” He turned, glaring at the blonde. Bokuto stood on the other side of him, boxing him in. Tsukishima sighed, taking the box from Hinata’s hand.
“Fine, I’ll go.”
Hinata glared at him. “No way. You don’t get to take credit for these snacks!”
Tsukishima stared down at him. “What are you gonna do about it?”
Daichi came between them. “Tsukishima will tell her that they are from you. But we shouldn’t all go. It will overwhelm her.” He looked knowingly at Tsukishima. “I think Tsukishima should go alone.”
Tsukishima looked down at the box. He shrugged.
“Fine.”
—-
The walk to your dorm was long. Tsukishima dreaded having to face you. You probably hated him, which he didn’t mind from other people, but didn’t want that from you. When he thought of your eyes scrunching up when you laughed, the way your hand felt over his…it made his stomach hurt. He finally could delay the trip no longer. He reached the medic dorm and knocked.
It was silent. He waited a moment before knocking again.
“Y/N?” he called. No answer.
He looked at the box in his hand. Should he just leave it here? Should he leave a note? He heard voices coming towards your dorm and turned around.
You were walking with Osamu Miya, that damned smile on your face. You laughed at something Osamu said before you noticed Tsukishima standing there.
“Tsukishima! Um, what are you doing here?” You looked at the box in his hand.
He shoved the box into your hands, not meeting your eyes.
“Hinata sent these for you and says he hopes you feel better.” He turned around, walking quickly back to his dorm, ignoring your calls of his name.
—
Tsukishima ignored his phone as it buzzed on his desk. He tried to focus on his book, where he had re-read the same line at least 5 times. His phone buzzed again and he glanced at the screen.
He didn’t know whether to be relieved or frustrated that it wasn’t a text from you. On one hand, he wanted you to feel guilty. But on the other hand, what did you have to feel guilty for? You weren’t together. You could talk or date anyone you wanted, even Osamu Miya, though he didn’t know why you would choose him. The guy had grey hair and was just as annoying as his stupid brother.
A knock at his door broke him from his thoughts.
“Oi Tsukishima, open up!” It was Kuroo.
He tried to ignore the door, focusing back on his book. He banged on the door again.
“Tsukki, I know you are in there and I will wait here all night.”
Tsukishima groaned, getting up to answer the door.
“What?”
Kuroo barged in, followed by Kenma, Bokuto, Akaashi, and surprisingly, Daichi. The guys stood in a weird semicircle around Tsukishima’s bed.
“Well, what happened?” Kuroo asked. Bokuto nodded, looking excited. “Did you finally apologize for being an idiot?”
Daichi nodded. “They filled me in. Please tell me you fixed this.”
Tsukishima sighed and rolled his eyes.
“Everything is fine. She was out and got there when I was about to leave and I gave her the stupid box.”
Akaashi looked at him. “What did you talk about?”
Tsukishima shrugged. “We didn’t. She was with Osamu Miya and they were coming back from somewhere so I just handed her the box and told her it was from Hinata.”
Daichi, Kuroo, and Bokuto groaned. Akaashi stared at him, disappointed. Kenma was focused on his game.
“Well, did you declare your love for her? Kiss her in front of him or something?” Bokuto asked and Tsukishima rolled his eyes.
“No. Clearly she’s over whatever happened. The end. She’s with Osamu. Can we stop this stupid romantic comedy bullshit?” Tsukishima said, frustrated.
Kuroo grabbed his shoulders. “Tsukishima! She would never choose Osamu. That guy has been chasing her for YEARS and she has never said yes. She missed practice today because you were a dummy who hurt her feelings. You need to go make this right!”
Daichi nodded solemnly. “Tsukishima, you don’t understand. There’s something big there between you two. Everyone can see it. The tension between you two is insane. Osamu probably called her at a time when she was vulnerable and hurt. You need to tell her how you feel.”
Tsukishima looked at the guys. Even Kenma was nodding along. Tsukishima groaned and sighed.
There was a knock at his door.
“Who is that?” Kuroo whispered. Tsukishima shrugged. “Probably Hinata to ask about the snacks.” He answered the door.
You stood there, shivering and wet, holding a plastic bag.
Hey!”
Tsukishima closed the door.
“Was that her?” Daichi asked and Tsukishima nodded.
“Open the door idiot!” Kuroo hissed. Akaashi pointed to the bathroom and the rest of the boys silently herded into the small room. Tsukishima swallowed hard and re-opened the door.
“Hi.”
You shivered again and he blinked. “Shit, sorry er, come in.”
You gave a small smile and stepped into the room. He grabbed a towel from the small closet and handed it to you.
“Um, here.”
Taking it, you nodded. “Thanks. Sorry it rained on me when I was walking here.” You quickly tried to dry your dripping hair. The room was silent except for the occasional droplets of water.
“Um, I uh, I brought your jacket.” You said, extending the bag to him.
He looked at your outstretched arm and silently took the bag from you.
“Thanks.” He placed the bag on his desk.
The two of you were silent again. Then you both began.
“About–”
“So–”
You laughed. “Um, you go ahead.”
He swallowed hard. “I guess you are feeling better.”
Inside the bathroom, Kuroo facepalmed silently.
You nodded. “Uh, yeah. I was just feeling really uh, weird this morning.”
The room got quiet again and you concentrated very hard on the floor tiles. He spoke first.
“I’m really bad at this.”
You looked up. “Bad at what?”
He sighed and fiddled with his fingers.
“I’m not a person who talks about feelings. Or very good at reciprocating them…appropriately? I feel things, obviously, but–” he trailed off.
“I’m sorry I hugged you. I thought I was getting a vibe but then I saw how you reacted and it made me realize you do not like me like that. I shouldn’t have been presumptuous.” You said quickly. Your face was flushed.
He blinked.
“I do though.”
Your eyes met his. “What?”
He nodded. “Like you, I mean. In that way.” His face was reddening and you had the urge to kiss his cheeks.
You stared at him. “Wait what? But you–”
He sighed. “I froze. I told you. I’m not good at expressing these things and it was overwhelming, a cute girl on top of me.”
You blushed, then frowned. “I was not ON TOP of you.”
He smirked. “Yeah, you kind of were.”
You pouted, and he had the strongest desire to kiss your lips. “Tsukishima, I was NOT on top of you!”
He cocked his head to the side. “Are you calling me a liar, Miss ‘called in sick to work today’?”
Your mouth fell open in mock offense. “Tsukishima Kei, you are a mean guy.”
He smirked, again. Stupidly handsome mean guy, you thought.
“JUST KISS ALREADY!” a voice from the bathroom startled the two of you. You turned to the noise and Tsukishima grabbed your face, surprising you with a kiss. Your eyes widened in shock before you melted into his embrace. His lips were soft and you felt fireworks exploding in the back of your brain as all the stupid drama floated away for this moment.
You didn’t even notice the trail of boys leaving the bathroom, Kuroo stopping to shoot a thumbs up at the two of you.
“God I love training camps.”

I didn't know
Jjk x reader
"Who the hell even likes teaching maths?" Jungkook whines and you turn to look at his pouty face now sporting a frown.
"I do." You say with a smile directed towards him before you hop down from the bench and start kicking the grass in an attempt to ignore the tingles his proximity has been causing in you.
Jungkook has been your friend for as long as you can remember. It started when you moved into the neighbourhood and he was the guy next door who wanted to be friends. You both had an instant connection like... It was just meant to be. You don't know how to explain it but you guys just immediately became best friends.
Now you're both studying in the same university and are still best friends. He understands when you're uncomfortable and does something about it and you do the same when you know he's hurting and trying to hide it.
You know that he's the kind that likes to share his happiness and pride and still suffer in silence but you don't let him. You always manage to pull him out of the shell he's been living in.
You've both been together through all important things in life. He was there for you when you had your first heartbreak and you did the same for him. You've both been immovable constants in one another's lives. It's almost like the presence of one grounds the other. Like an anchor.
But recently you've been having trouble being the friend he'll never consider romantically. You have been having different reactions around him and when you sat down with a cup of coffee and analysed them you understood that you've caught feelings for him.
You do know that falling for your best friend does sound clichè but it isn't really. You understand that having such feelings for him can only end in heartbreak and you aren't ready to risk your friendship for anything. Especially not for silly feelings. And even more specifically you know that a relationship with Jungkook is next to impossible as you know that he cannot think of you in that way.
"Come on YN, you can't be serious." His voice brings you out of your musings and you turn around to face him.
"Jungkook, I am serious. I've been waiting for an opportunity for so long and I feel like this is it." You say with a determined look and see him in the eyes.
"But you don't even have a project this week. Why do you want to go today?" He asks and you try to escape the guilt churning your stomach.
You've been trying very hard to limit the time you spend around him in an attempt to hide or even forget your feelings all week.
That went so well. You think to yourself with an eye roll and turn to face him.
"I don't have a project but I'm planning on staying ahead of my peers. I spoke to our professor and got the project that we're supposed to work on next week." You explain and watch as he takes the information in.
"Why, though? You know, I've been so excited for this weekend because it's the first one after we had classes and projects continuously. I thought we could hang out, you know? Like the old times?" He asks with a saddened expression and you find your will melting. But you turn to the opposite side because you can't bear to see him like this and know that you won't be able to refuse him if you see his face any longer.
"Sorry, kookie. I just need to do this. Plus we have a holiday next week, remember? We can go out then." You plead and turn to look at him which again proves to be a mistake because you can see that he knows that it's just an empty promise. You both know that the whole week, you've been making such promises none of which you've held on to. But you also watch as his expression hardens and he nods his head twice. Almost like he flipped a switch off you see his face turn expressionless and cold.
"Okay, Yn. I'll see you tomorrow then." He says and hops down before walking away.
You know what he's trying to do. Of course you do, you were with him the whole time he was suffering. He's closing off. Hiding behind the walls he's built to save himself from getting hurt. It's his defence mechanism and you found this out when he first stopped spending time with you after his breakup. Thinking about that time, your heart clenches painfully and you sigh thinking that's exactly how he must be feeling right now. Sighing again, you turn around to see that he has already left.
*Time skip 3 days. *
You're in your bed under the covers. The TV is on and your favourite drama is playing but not a single thing is entering your head as you've been thinking about Jungkook the whole time.
The last time he closed off abruptly the way he did earlier that week was when his mom died and he decided not to tell you because he didn't want to worry you. However, you found out something was wrong the moment he cancelled your plans to hang out at your place. You called Jimin (who's your other friend) and immediately went to his place when you were told that Jungkook was there.
One look at your face and he burst out crying pulling you closer by wrapping his hands around your narrow waist. You patted his shoulders, ran your fingers through his hair and whispered softly to him, feeling your heart aching for him as his tears soaked through your baggy sweatshirt and yours poured down your face. What you were unaware of, was the look Jimin and Jin exchanged behind you.
That day, you hated jungkook's mom for the way he was crying, knowing that she could do nothing about death. But you still hated her. Knowing that the reason why he is behaving this way now is what you did makes your stomach churn.
The past few days he hasn't tried talking to you or spoken to your friends. When you called Jin a few minutes back he said that he's been trying to reach Jungkook and he hasn't been answering since the day he closed off.
Before you even know it, you're making your mind up and tossing the sheets off of your body. Turning off the TV and changing your dress, you lock the house before getting into your car and driving to his place which isn't too far away.
When you reach there, you ring the bell and wait for a response. Growing irritated after about 2 minutes, you're about to ring the bell again when the door opens and the sight almost has you on your knees begging for forgiveness. Eyes swollen, face red and blotched, Jungkook rubs his eyes standing in front of you. You immediately throw your hands around his shoulders as you can already feel your tears leaking down your face. You can feel his confusion before he recognises you. The small smile that you can feel from the place his lips touch your temple is enough to tell you all you want to know.
"What is it this time?" He asks, chuckling when you shake your head in response to his shoulder. Understanding that you don't want to talk right now, he wraps his hands around your waist and gently lifts you off the ground. Immediately, you wrap your legs around his waist and burrow your head against his neck.
Gosh, you can't explain how much you've missed that scent.
You can vaguely recognise from his movements that he's locking the door to his apartment and carrying you inside. You feel it when he tries to set you down on the couch in the living room and chuckles again at your antics as you refuse to let go.
Sighing, he sits down and spreads his legs open before he gently places you down in the place between his legs. He gently pulls you closer and places his chin on top of your head. A few minutes pass before you mumble against his shoulder.
"I'm sorry."
Prying you off his shoulder, he nudges your chin gently until you meet his eyes. Taking a deep breath he says,
"YN, you know that you can talk to me about anything right?"
Sighing you say,
"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry." You say and drop your eyes.
"For what?"
"For behaving the way I did and... And for ignoring you... And for hurting you the way I did." You mumble in a low voice.
"YN." He calls softly and continues when you meet his eyes,
"I know that you didn't mean to hurt me. I also know that what you did hurt you more than me. I just…" He stops. Sighing, he runs his hand through his hair Before saying,
"Just… Just don't do it again, okay?"
You look up with tears in your eyes and he offers you a gentle smile and you can see his genuine feelings in his eyes, before he says, "These three days felt like hell. I already knew that I can never live without you but these three days just showed me everything I needed to see. I realised that I can never, ever go without you."
Unable to see his hurt expression anymore, you throw yourself on him again as he catches you with ease and gently rocks you back and forth. Seeing him be so honest makes you want to spill everything and you decide to. Pulling away, you gaze into his eyes but he beats you to it saying,
"It's just that… All good things leave my life. I just don't want to lose you too. Don't leave me?" He asks, his voice barely above a whisper. Feeling like throwing your hands around him again, you control the urge and shake your head facing down. Sniffing, you look up and say,
" Well, I have something to tell you and I want you to answer the question you just asked me." You say and meet his eyes.
"Jungkook-ah, I've been dishonest to you. I failed to be a good friend. I did something that might ruin our friendship." you admit your fears aloud and watch as he waits for you to continue. Sighing, you look down and compose your thoughts, preparing yourself for the worst before meeting his eyes again.
"You know we've been friends for so long that I can't even remember when we first became friends. I've confided in you more than I have in my own family and you already know that I trust and value you more than anyone else in the world. But somewhere along the way, I've caught feelings for you. " You whisper the last part and watch as his eyes widen in shock.
" I…I didn't mean to. You know that I wouldn't risk losing you for anything. I just9… " you rush to justify. Sighing you say,
"I don't even know how or when. I just realised that I've been thinking about you in a way a friend wouldn't. I love you and you already know that but I'm starting to doubt that my love is purely what a friend feels…" You watch him process all the information and you almost feel bad for giving him so much to digest in such a short span of time.
"I just.. I've been watching couples lately and I've realised that we've been living just the way a couple do. We have everything in our relationship except for the sexual or the romantic part. I don't even need to tell you all the ways we get each other better than others. We've been there for each other in all important walks of life and you have stood by my side every time I've had to make a hard decision." You pause and try to discern his reaction.
Unable to recognise anything you sigh.
"I can totally understand if you don't think of me that way. I know it seems abrupt and I also know that you wouldn't consider pursuing a romantic relationship with me. I just wanted to tell you all of this and get it off of my heart. I've been feeling a heavy weight in my shoulders from the time I recognised my feelings and decided not to tell you. I feel like I've betrayed you and our friendship but I'm truly sorry for it. " You say and search his face.
"Now I'm going to ask you, Please don't leave me alone?" you plead, your voice so low he has to strain to hear you. A few moments pass as you wait and you sigh, thinking this is the end of all the happiness in your life. Getting up, you tell him one last time,
" I love you Jungkook-ah. I hope you get to experience true happiness in life." you move away with a heavy heart and everything seems to happen in slow motion there after.
You feel his fingers wrap around your wrist and you barely have a chance to react before he pulls you. You fall right into his lap with a gasp and blink once as he places his hands on either side of your face, cradling your head gently. He doesn't give you much time to dwell before you feel his lips on yours and your eyes widen comically.
Unable to process what's happening, you blink one, twice and then realise that this is the moment you've dreamt of. Closing your eyes you whimper and respond eagerly as you move your lips against his. You can clearly feel his smile against your lips.
You open your eyes to see him looking right into you and try to quell the butterflies in your stomach. Leaving your face, you feel his hands journey down your body as one wraps around your waist and the other travels downwards and up inside your oversized t-shirt.
You gasp at the sensation when you feel his warm fingers against your bare skin and Jungkook uses it to slip his tongue inside your mouth. As you glare at the way he just cheated, you can feel him smirk into the kiss.
His tongue explores your mouth and you respond just as eagerly matching him with a caress for caress and thrust for thrust. He spreads his hand completely on the bare skin of your waist and uses his other hand to do the same and finds out that one of his hands is large enough to cover almost all the around.
The contrast of his warm skin against yours and his lips on yours is almost overwhelming as you forget everything except him. You take in each and every detail as you also kiss him fiercely, pouring all the feelings you can't convey using words into the kiss.
Soon, the need for air separates you, and you both gasp to take huge lungfuls of air. Smiling at each other, you join your foreheads together and he says,
"I didn't know. I wish I knew earlier so I would have acted upon it…"
Sighing you say,
"I didn't either…"
Looking into each other's eyes you ask at the same time,
"Don't leave me?"
" Don't leave, please? "
As he chuckles and you offer a tiny smile, you say
"Never" and he says
"I Won't."
Cold air enters the room through the windows and you shiver as you feel the warmth of his hands still enveloping your waist. Your face turns crimson and you are no longer bold enough to look him in the eyes as he gives you a tiny smirk on the way to try to hide your cheeks using his shoulders.
Chuckling he says,
"You know, I always imagined this moment but never ever had my imaginations matched this reality. It can't even compare to how I'm feeling right now with you in my arms. I feel like I just achieved something great."
Lifting your face, you give him a serious look before you smirk and say, "I know. But now, just shut up and kiss me."
Returning your smirk with his he says,
"Gladly."

That One
Very rare did Mitch not be constantly on the road during his season. But surprisingly enough he had about a five day break.
We live in an apartment complex in Toronto not to far from the arena. About a twenty minute drive.
I was sitting on the couch next to Mitch watching a re run of some reality TV show. Who knew he liked watching that.
"Babe do you wanna go to that park near the lake?" Mitch asks me out of the blue.
"Mitch. It's ten o'clock at night." I replied to him.
"So?" He questioned.
"Fine." I gave in. That's how thing's between us always go. He asks something I question it and he question back and I give in. That's how he got me to move in with him. Considering I use to live in New York.
"Great let's go." He said while getting up to go put his shoes on.
I got up to go change real quick and grab a pair of shoes. Slipping them on my feet before grabbing my jacket. Zipping up my jacket then grabbing my phone. I walked out of the apartment as Mitch held the door for me. He closed it after me and himself walked out before locking it.
On the way out of the building into the parking lot I ask him a question.
"Remind me why we are doing this.?"
"I don't know." He said while shrugging. He does things like this all the time.
Unlocking the car and getting buckled up for the ten minute drive didn't take long. We were off on a mission.
Looking out of the window looking at all of the bright lights and cars was cool. I liked looking at lights at night. It was beautiful. Doing that made the drive go by faster.
"Here." He said while putting the car in park and turning it off. I stepped out and he was standing there waiting for me. Closed the door behind me and locked it.
He started walking and I followed by his side. It was cold but not too cold. Just perfect. I liked it like that. Beautiful night. Mitch walking a bit ahead of me.
"Come sit down." He said while sitting down on a bench. I made my way over to the bench and sat down next to him.
He wrapped his one arm around me bringing me closer to him. I rested my head on his shoulder while looking at the clear sky infront of us.
"Aren't they pretty." He said while looking at the sky full of us. You could see the reflection of the bright moon and stars on the lake.
"How'd you find this place Mitch?" He had to have found this place somewhere.
"Came here a few nights ago." He told me.
We sat there together looking at the stars and how beautiful they are. Telling each other when we saw different consultations.
"There." Mitch said.
"What about it?" I questioned.
"It's ours."
"Our what?"
"Our star."
"Why that one?" I asked him.
"It reminds me if you. It's the prettiest thing I've ever seen and in a sky gull of stars I can see it shine with its beauty." That was the most wholesome thing I've ever heard the man say to me. Any man really.
"Your such a sweetheart." It put a smile on my face. Made me blush a little bit. Sitting there looking at the exact same star. It was beautiful.

✧ my lovely love 𖥔˙̣
02. 3rd of december (in the snow)
IN WHICH, choi y/n after finally landing a job after many many interviews finds out his new boss is the boy that broke his heart many years ago in highschool. can the two become friends again and maybe more or will it once again end in tragedy with y/n crying on the floor of his room for days left to pick up the pieces of his once again broken heart.

3rd of december, junior year of highschool
jay planned a date for us today. as i finish getting ready a text pops up on my phone, hey baby, i’m outside. i grab my bag, phone and keys and go to meet jay outside with the biggest smile on my face. “jay!” i run into his arms, he gives me a big hug. “i missed you so much.” he says in the sweetest tone and as he gives me a kiss on my head, it starts snowing. i’ve always loved snow.
we arrive at this nice restaurant and he opens the car door for me and pulls flowers out of nowhere!? “thank you jay” i step out of the car and take his hand. he shuts the car door and leads me into the restaurant. “the reservation should be under the name park jongseong.” “right this way sirs.” the hostess says. jay leads me, holding my hand. i can’t help but smile, i love him so much.
after we eat dinner jay takes me for a walk in the park. i'm shivering, when did it get so cold? “you should’ve dressed warmer, you’re shaking.” it's that look, the look he gives me when i do something he finds cute or endearing. “hey! you’re supposed to give me a sweater in this situation!” he takes off his jacket and puts it on me. it’s so warm. i never want this date to end. snow still falling the sight of him here next to me, holding my hand, it’s my most favorite thing in the whole world. there's this small food truck right outside of the park that has the best hot chocolate in the whole world. "back on another date, aren't you two just darling." the owners are this cute little married old couple. they talk to us everytime we come around to buy food or drinks. "yes ma'am." jay tells her with a smile and i can't help but stare at him. how could a boy as beautiful as him be mine. we get our drinks and go to sit down at what we've deemed our bench.
when we sit down he gives me this look. it's a look i recognize, but one of which i am not familiar. "jay what's wrong..?" i'm scared to ask. he’s been acting weird. please don't say you're leaving me. "i.. need to tell you something." he takes my hands in his and looks at me ever so gently. he sounds... different. something happened i just know it. “what is it? jay, you can tell me anything, i’ll always be here for you my love.” “y/n you know i love you a lot right? i wish i could spend every moment i have with you.” i try to study his face to figure out what he’s trying to do. “yes jay i know you love me silly. i love you too, now tell me whats up.” he looks scared to tell me. he's never scared to tell me anything.
“y/n i’m moving away.” the words hit me like a truck. jay is leaving me. “what?” my voice is barely above a whisper and before i know it i’m crying. “you’re just moving a few hours away right?” i choke out between sobs. it starts snowing again. “i’m moving to the u.s.” my sobs worsen. “why.” “baby i love you so much i don’t want to but my parents...” “i haven’t even met your parents we kept our relationship a secret. not even my friends know that i have a boyfriend. my brothers haven’t even met you yet. what about our plans? what about everything we were going to do?” i can’t stand to look at his face anymore. “we need to break up.” “oh. okay.” i have no more tears left for now.
the drive back is silent. it’s still snowing it gives me this melancholy feeling. “y/n i’m sorry. i didn’t want to go but i have to.” “okay.” i open the door on my own when he drops me off. i don’t want to look at him any longer. “i love you.” he says before i step out. i look back at him. “i love you too.” my voice is soft, almost whisper like, but i know he heard it. i’m greeted by my brothers as soon as i step in the house. i can’t bear it any longer. as soon as they greet me i can no longer hold back my tears. “he left me. jay’s moving away.” all three of them come to give me hugs. yeonjun even offers to beat him up. i’m lucky to have brothers as loving as them.
as i look past my brothers out the window and through my tears i see the snow. i hate the snow.

DRAGON FIVE: Heo Ji-Nan
Since its the Year of the Dragon, wouldn't you guys mind if I post about the Fire Dragon bench? They're my side hyperfixation that I love writing about every so often 🥺
Also yes, I specify bench because I don't care much about the main team for now. At least outside of their dynamics with the benchers that is-
First we have Ji-Nan, the reserve keeper. He's so cute ;____;
His profile implies that he lives in Seoul despite being from the south, so I like to interpret that his family moved there at some point of his life.
Typical story of a parent managing to gain a better place to live at thanks to their job; the usual. While most of the family was ok with the moving, Ji-Nan does get homesick at times, specially of the warmer temperatures. His original home are the Jeju Islands, by the way.
Because of the sudden change of location, Ji-Nan still has it hard to get used to living in the big city overall. At least joining his school's soccer club helped him make some friendships, I guess.
So, about his issues with the cold, here's a cruel fact: Ji-Nan has cold intolerance, which makes enduring the Seoul winters even worse. To cope with them he tends to put on puffy jackets, scarfs, gloves, and tons of layers of clothing. Otherwise expect him to catch him a cold very quickly…
The little hat he wears is just something he bought in hopes to warm himself up.
He has an older brother, but that gets constantly on his nerves because of his mischievous and unneeded comments towards him. When Ji-Nan practices soccer, he likes to act as a striker, and he will celebrate intensely every goal he makes against his brother.
...Though, Ji's very hot-headed overall. He doesn't take jokes very lightly, and he gets pissed off easily. I don't see him as violent when he's angry, closest thing is that he's quite petty and tends to complain about others in secret. Soccer and goalkeeping are also ways he lets his fury out without hurting others, supposedly.
Though in very rare occassions, Ji-Nan CAN actually try and fight someone no matter the size.
I like the idea of Ji-Nan using Dai Bakuhatsu Harite a very different way than the one seen animated: While the main keeper uses many but enough hits to stop the ball, the reserve often hits the ball way too much and with too fast, causing it to be slightly burned after the final explosion. This is an unwanted side-effect that's caused by a badly performed move.
His relationship with main keeper Jo Jung-Soo is okay, given there isn't an actual rivarly; and even JS himself sees potential on Ji-Nan. Unfortunately, he is very aware that the reserve keeper often puts too many of his negative emotions into his moves; which isn't neccesarily a bad thing but such intense things create the side-effects we mentioned earlier. So Jung-Soo always keeps an eye on him, and steps in is Ji-Nan is being his usual salty self.
"Don't let your fire get too intense, it will damage your playing style".
JN unfortunately doesn't have the best reaction to this, feeling often misunderstood. But at least later on the FFI he realizes healthier ways to express his negative feelings while also finding peace of mind. He probably got onto meditation or something
Because of the bad relationship with his older brother, te tends to become attached to pretty much every single older boy that treats him better. Jung-soo? The coach? The other benchers? You name it. Please ignore the fact that 3/4 of the bench aren't great people, the bar is just that low for him.
Though, Hwan Woo-Myang having a similar personality to his brother -always teasing Ji-Nan and his skills- can cause some tension between the two. Even if he's just being mischievous, this still is able to open the worst side of the little keeper, straight up talking shit behind him at any chance.
...For something more positive at least, time did make both boys mature a bit; removing Ji-Nan's petiness and making Woo-Myang a bit more considerate for others. After a re-encounter as adults the two surprisingly bonded well this time around, and they soon became good friends. Nowadays every weekend Woo-Myang likes to take Ji-Nan to eat and/or sing together. They always are having fun!
Speaking of the future, after the FFI Ji-Nan was the only FD bencher that kept playing football. Despite everything he never gave up and kept training, and soon enough after perfecting his skills enough he was given a spot on a professional Seoul team.
Another thing that contributed to his rising fame was his bond with Jung-Soo, given that they were in pretty good terms and often tried to train together. Nonetheless, Ji-Nan prefers to go his own way, even as to wishing to soon play internationally unlike the main keeper (Who'd rather stay on Korea as to keep improving local football).
Last thing, but a huge issue that did held back Ji-Nan during his early football days was his height. After all, with the current best korean keeper being huge, why would anyone place their trust on a tiny one? To compensate that, he trains very hard almost daily, following a rough excersice routine crafted from trial and error. At least once his daily effort is done, he loves to eat a huge bowl of fresh fruit.
(And yeah, don't expect him to get any despective comment about his height very positively).
#hc:ina11#fire dragon (ina11)#Heo Ji-Nan#Originally his surname (I think it is?) was Ho#...Gonna miss it#Kinda wish I could have developed more his bench relationships here but sañdsñdk the post is too long#So expect it instead on the following parts#(Maybe)

Dark Keith in Silvio's Chapter 9
Spoilers! - translation is not 100% accurate obviously, I'm taking a bit of creative liberty to make it sound like a book
Warning! - Foul language, Threats
So I'm basically writing this here instead of discord so it will be for everyone and not just the one I wish to send it to (you know who you are <3)
So anyway, Emma goes into town with Keith. She catches a glimpse of his other self at a point but quickly dismisses it. That's until later on...
After buying our sweets we headed up the hill, where we could catch a wonderful view of the town.
"We could sit over there", I said pointing out a few benches.
There was a calming peace around us. A tranquillity that showed in the birdsong that surrounded us. But soon that peace would be broken.
Before I knew it, Keith had circled behind me and placed his hand on my throat.
"You shouldn't choose your moves so poorly", his breath tickled my ear, "with such little effort from me you'll fall"
I was startled at the sudden change in his voice. "Prince Keith?"
He allowed me to turn around so I could face him, but that's when his fingers suddenly filled with force, clenching my airway enough for my breath to struggle to pass through. The gentle world around us had been so quickly replaced, and I felt my sweat run cold as the sound of my own heartbeat enveloped me.
"Please stop, prince Keith!", cried one of the knights that escorted us. He immediately rushed over, but Keith's hand did not budge from its spot.
"I haven't drawn my sword. It's but a joke", Keith gave him a reassuring smile, "And if she answers my questions, I promise I won't result to rudeness"
The next time he spoke he addressed me. "I don't want to hurt you carelessly", he said.
It's like....he's completely changed. I let my guard down around him when I shouldn't.
I tried to pull his hand away, but the difference in strength was soon made obvious to me.
There could only be one thing that he would ask. But the fact that I'm Belle must be kept a secret at all costs.
"I don't like roundabouts so I'll just get straight to the point", Keith's gaze turned serious once more.
I took a deep breath to calm down my racing mind as much as I could, and I braced myself for the words that would most definitely follow.
"A spy?", I murmured his last word as I processed his accusation.
"Are you...", he drew a deep breath and looked at me straight in the eye, "Are you an Obsidianite spy?"
Not Belle?
I somehow managed to suppress my surprise that was about to overflow.
"There's a disturbing rumour in Rhodolite right now", the prince's fingers tapped rhythmically on my skin, "I suspect he is the one at the core of it"
"What disturbing rumour?"
Keith's hand squeezed a little harder. "I'm the one asking the questions now", he said.
There's such a gap between the gentle Keith I knew and the Keith I saw before me that one would struggle to imagine they're the same person.
"There are three things I want you to tell me", said Keith. I could not avert my eyes as he listed, "Your purpose, your relationship with Gilbert and...who really you are"
No matter how you look at it he's got it all wrong. I haven't the faintest clue about what it takes to be a spy. It's an absurd allegation.
"Prince Keith, why did you think I was a spy?", my words came out struggled, but they still came out.
"You can't sell stones, can you?"
I did not understand what he meant. My baffled expression was all the response he needed to continue his thoughts.
"I see", he smiled, "You're good at playing dumb, aren't you?"
Before I could reply he explained.
"<<Selling stones>> is a secret code for buying and selling information from one country. To the man who said you couldn't sell stones, I would have replied <<Sorry for looking away>>"
~~~Disclaimer: I'm really not sure about this part above~~~~
Keith sighed. He did not seem to believe I didn't know anything of what he was saying and yet it was the truth.
"So they asked me if I wanted information, and I said I didn't need it because I was looking for other information"
"Wha...that's just a cruel accusation!", I couldn't help but cry out the moment he was done, "If you say that you have no choice but to respond that way!"
"If that's the case how do you explain the matter with Prince Gilbert?", he raised his voice over mine, yet still keeping it levelled and cool, "Gilbert is not so idle as to have a relationship with a noble lady. It's a big deal for Gilbert to go to [a place that is translated as Chin but I'm obviously missing smth]. That day, it would be reasonable to think that you were trading stones with him, that you couldn't tell anyone"
No way. Did Gilbert orchestrate all of this? Unlike Silvio, he knew who I was from the first time we met. He's been working all this time behind the scenes to solidify his "baseless accusation" that I'm Belle. If you think about it, there's no reason Prince Keith's explanation of the facts doesn't match.
"If you say otherwise I want you to give me a satisfactory explanation", Keith continued, "It is unreasonable for you to simply say you're a daughter of Rhodolite"
"Why?", I asked.
"I did a little research on you", he replied just as I feared, " I asked the Jade nobles living in Rhodolite about you and they said they've never seen you in their social circles. Funny, isn't it?"
He leaned in, his serious gaze pinning me to the ground as his words rang in my ears.
"You're not a young lady who just made her social debut", he continued, "A young lady talented enough to reside in the castle would be showing her face rather a lot in society"
I should have expected this. Not Rio, not even Sariel can manipulate the information going out of the Jade nobles' mouths. As the lies are revealed, I'm slowly driven to a dead end.
"I think you're falsifying your identity", Keith said again, "If you're an authorized spy from both countries, then there's a secret collusion between Obsidian and Rhodolite. If that's the case, even Jade, who is usually neutral, can't just ignore it"
He's got me. I bet Gilbert is laughing quite loudly right now.
I'm not a spy. But the excuse of "just being another noble lady" won't work anymore. The only way to convince Keith is if I reveal my identity. If I tell him I'm Belle. But I obviously can't do that.
"Your silence will be regarded as a confession", said Keith, as I desperately sought to find a way out. The hand around my neck grew stronger.
"Wait!", I managed to say, "You're confused. I'm not really an Obsidianite spy."
"That won't work. Come on. Spit out the truth. Let's get it over with."
I need to think. I have to figure something out by myself. Neither Rio, nor Sariel are here this time to help me.
"You seem truly unwilling to answer", the last hint of calm left his voice, "If so, I have no choice but to change the way I listen"
My breathing turned rapid and shallow at his declaration. I dug my nails into my palms to suppress the trembling of my body, but I was reaching my limit. My thoughts turned to a white screen in my mind. In that moment, I felt so helpless. He should have realised I had no weapons to fight him with. Maybe it would be best for the country if I gave in, hang my neck and lost consciousness. I made up my mind and closed my eyes, but my heart was selfishly screaming.
Somebody help. I'm...scared.
I bit down my lip, tasting blood. And that's when I heard the familiar jingling sound of jewellery.
That sound...
"Ha", a voice exclaimed behind my closed eyes, "Isn't this an interesting sight?"
The restraining hand slightly loosed its grip around my neck. I opened my eyes. What came into sight was Silvio's coat and aquamarine hair. He turned around to look in my face.
"Silvio...", I mumbled.
"Why are you here?", Keith inquired, cutting me off.
Silvio's words were light and friendly, and yet his eyes were the furthest thing from it.
"I just happened to be passing by"
He just happened to find himself in such a secluded spot?
Even if my heart denies it's possible, the person in front of me is not an illusion, nor a fantasy of my own making.
Silvio is trying to help me...
"You're searching for the woman's identity, are you not?", he gave Keith a confident smile. "I've been doing the same for quite some time", he said, "It's cheating to keep all the information to yourself you know"
Silvio's laugh radiated pride. He took me by surprise as he grabbed my jaw. Instead of helping, he made the situation even worse.
Now we've reached the worst situation possible. I was an idiot to expect anything different from him!
"Hey girl", Silvio brought my face close to his, "If you confess honestly, you won't have to worry about the consequences, alright?"
"I have nothing to confess", I made sure to state my words firmly.
"That's not going to satisfy that asshole. Ah, but...", Silvio stroked my chin with his thumb, "At least you're not an Obsidianite spy"
He must have heard the conversation from before. I guess he's been here for a while.
"How do you figure?", asked Keith.
Silvio's responded scornfully, "Do you really believe this woman is an Obsidianite spy?". Silvio looked back at me. "No matter how you view it, she's too stupid", he said, "Look how terrified she is. You're about to cry, aren't you?"
"Ι don't feel like crying", I furrowed my brows, looking at him in the eye.
"Look in the mirror and then speak, idiot", he told me, "Gilbert's direct spy? They don't compare to such a lowly woman"
After that, he turned back to Keith.
"You felt uncomfortable with this woman, right? Thought her strange."
Keith remained silent, but he seemed to be already thinking what Silvio then confirmed out loud.
"A spy trained by Gilbert would not let you feel uncomfortable in the first place. If a spy was that stupid, they would be terminated immediately"
"Then why does Gilbert show such interest in her?"
"There must be other reasons. From my perspective", Silvio let go of my and grabbed Keith's hand instead, "I don't know who she is, but she seems to be the favourite mistress of one of the Rhodolite princes"
That was a very outrageous statement. It was hard to believe the words came out of Silvio's mouth, the man who had been lately almost certain that I was Belle.
No. Silvio is...is he trying to protect me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter 10 ` just a smidge to finish the scene
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Are you serious?", Keith frowned.
"Ah, you see, unless such an ordinary woman, who seems to have no merit, is "favoured", then I don't see a reason for her to stay in the castle", Silvio seemed confident in his explanation, " Since the eye-patch bastard has his eye on her then perhaps she is Chevalier's or Leon's woman?"
"Emma, is that true?"
Keith's sudden question startled me out of my amazement.
"I ah...I can't say", I chewed on my words.
I chose to neither deny, nor affirm what Silvio said. Denying it was certainly out of the question since I would end up right back where we started. The topic of <<Who's mistress is it?>> becomes unavoidable and the lie is broken. But I couldn't say anything else without talking to Leon or Chevalier beforehand.
Even though I hinted I was someone's mistress, it would be better not to say so, nor say who's.
"However, just as Silvio said, I am not an Obsidianite spy. That's all I can say with confidence."
"I see", said Keith after a brief pause.
He still looked somewhat unconvinced, but he pulled his body away from me. I was finally able to breathe.
Did I make it through?
I took a step back and looked at Keith's face. The same gentle smile I knew adorned it. He was back to his usual self.
"I'm sorry Emma", he said, "Apparently, I misunderstood"
"Be careful you bastard", Silvio smiled as his lie won, "If you harm this woman, you don't know who you'll be going up against"
"Are you the one saying that to me, Silvio?"
"Oh, I'm fine"
Silvio stood next to me, his jewellery's jingling sound teasing my right ear.
Usually, that sound sends panic through my body, but today is different.
"Silvio...", the voice that left my lips was surprisingly faint.
"Hah, what happened to your good cheekiness?", Silvio suddenly wrapped his arm around my waist and lifted me up in his embrace. Normally, I'd be complaining but...I didn't have the energy to say anything back now.
"I'll take the woman. You finished your business, didn't you?", Silvio told Keith.
Its been like 20 mins since the news broke out to you and Druig that you are pregnant. You were getting restless in the room and wanted some fresh air yet Druig words kept repeating in your head.
don't be an idiot and escape...
Your pregnant now so he can’t say shit nor lay a hand on you so you pushed your thoughts aside and got out of the room.
Hospitals always freaked you out so when you was faced with an empty hallway you started to feel uneasy. Man not today. It felt like a messy maze by the time you came out to the reception you was met by bodyguards.
"Boss told you not to leave" You gave the bodyguard a dead face and began to walk off. But he grabbed a hold on you.
"Let go off me."
“Boss said not. to. leave." He was about to grab your other arm yet.
You pushed him away but ended up hitting your backside against someone's chest when you looked up you was met with Druig cold eyes.
"I told you not to leave sweetheart."
"yeah i know what you said but i needed some fresh air and im kinda hungry since you did interrupt me from my lunch you know." Druig made a notion towards his bodyguard who stomped off somewhere else.
He wrapped his arm around you waist and started bringing you towards the exit. His touch felt nice. It made you feel safe. And calm.
"Lets have a chat while we talk.." you simply nodded in response. Once you both got out the hospital the walk around was quiet. It was a nice sunny day today. You could see some patients out with their nurses or family. Little kids running around. The warm air easing the tension between you both.
"I'm not good with comfort or expressing my emotions y/n so dont expect me to be nice and easy on you...even if you had gotten pregnant or not you still would have ended up the same situation more or less so."
"What do you mean.." Your voice came out quietly.
"The night we was together everyone saw us, from the moment we came in, spoke, dance wtvr and till the moment we left. There was some people in the club that don't like me or what i do. So whatever crumb i leave behind they use it."
"Yeah but nothing happened to me after a couple of weeks till now" You both came across and bench and sat down.
Druig stare on you was hard so you faced the small pond in front of you instead.
"Nothing happened because my men was around you.. you just never noticed. But now that you are bearing my child i cannot leave you alone."
"We can abort it you know. I don't want to be in a meaning less relationship with a child you don't want."
His hand softly moved your face to look at him. His eyes a soft shade of blue. A rough man with such soft features.
"Who said i didn't want our child y/n"
"We barely know each other though.. what if we aren't meant to be." Druig scoffed.
"We met for a reason... Remember that" He kissed you on the forehead.
"Now lets go i told my men to get you food." You smiled.
Maybe he isn't so bad…
You didn’t let that thought overtake everything. He might be nice now but who knows what he will do. You shook your thoughts away and focused back on what was happening.
The walk back was nice but you got distracted the moment the food was handed to you. The nurse who was your midwife shortly came after introducing herself and began taking down your details. However another one of Druigs bodyguards came to pick you up.
You didn't think much as it was the same uniform and attire. However when he started leading you out it was in a different path to the one you took in the morning.
"This is not the way we came in.."
"Boss said he didn't want anyone seeing" The bodyguard kept his focus on the way. Before you realised it two other men reappeared behind you. In the corner of your eyesight you could see a cloth being pulled.
What the fuck do i do...
Without thinking, you pushed the bodyguard away and starting running down the hallways. You could hear the other three men running behind you, shouting. You began taking turns in the hallway ending up at the dead end.
This was it..
You eyes quickly diverted to the alarm box and quickly hit it, setting the hospital alarm off. At the same time you knocked out from an unexpected hit from the head.
Everything went slow.. your vision blurring every time you took a look.
Your last sight seeing three figures.
PERFECT ## oikawa tooru
the air of perfection surrounding you makes him sick. you're worse than the geniuses he hates
. tw misogny, predatory behavior, smut, noncon/dubcon, slight dacryphilia, corruption kink, fingering . wc 1.2k
before his flight to argentina in a few months, oikawa made it a hobby to swing by his alma mater.
iwa's too busy and he can't possibly bother his best friend when he's working so hard in college. so oikawa tooru goes alone. sometimes, he comes in early while the team's still there. maybe he'll even join matches for fun — coach irihata still has a soft spot for him, apparently.
but most of the time he comes when the gym is empty; when there's an absence of the squeaking shoes and the ricocheting balls. it never fails to make his heart swell in nostalgia. ah, how he’ll miss this place terribly once he moves to argentina.
something did change, though.
oikawa wouldn't call it drastic but the first time he crashed their practice, he was all but pleasantly surprised to see the new aoba johsai manager.
you were a pretty thing and the boys adore you a lot. you didn't look the type to apply as manager just to score an athlete boyfriend nor did you seem to have any other objective other than taking care of the team. oikawa can say as much because he could see how the new captain looks at you and the way you purposely try to keep things platonic. friendly. you don't let yahaba, or anyone in the team, go the extra mile for you.
and the fact that you can miraculously keep kyoutani in check is the cherry on top. while the said player is still rough around the edges, he learned how to listen to you and the last time kyoutani ever listened to anyone was months ago, when iwaizumi was still in the team.
team morale is high when you're there to support them on the sidelines. in your white and turquoise tracksuit yet still managing to look attractive. yahaba's got quite the patience, if oikawa do say so himself.
you were like some sort of goddess to them. it's sickening how dewy-eyed his ex-teammates would get whenever you smile and hand them their water bottles. it was too good to be true. you were too good to be true. there has got to be some sort of conspiracy behind this whole ordeal.
"oikawa-san, i didn't think you'd be here at this hour."
he turns around at the sound of your voice. there you stood in casual clothes, hair tied up and face bare. with the harsh angles the moonlight created together with the poor lighting of the gym, you look normal. not an air of that perfection he’s always seen circulating around you.
"how did you get in? only yahaba and i have the keys."
you saunter closer and it wasn't a wise move on your part. while you have aoba johsai as the same denominator, the alumnus was still practically a stranger. quick exchanges of acknowledgments aren't exactly sufficient to get to know someone. let alone be friends with. but you never once thought any of that. how naive.
he smiles as you finally stood next to him. you can't help the slight dread pool in your stomach at the sight of it. with his tall lean frame that can easily overpower you, the smile looked more ominous than friendly.
"bold of you to assume i gave the keys back. why do you think shigeru had to duplicate them again for you?"
you didn't see it coming, the arm oikawa slings around your shoulders before pulling you flush against him. you would've lost your balance if you hadn't clutched the lapels of his coat.
"can it be…" his plush lips graze the shell of your ear as he whispers. "our little secret, cutie?"
warning bells are going off in your head. it tells you to run and stay the fuck away from him but you did nothing of the sort, had only forced a polite smile and swiftly ducked around to get his arm off you.
this is oikawa tooru we're talking about.
yeah, you know he's quite the ladies man but you doubt he'd go... that far, especially if he knows the person's uncomfortable. not to mention, you're part of the volleyball team! you're managing his past team. surely, maybe, the familial bond extended to you too despite only joining their little family this year. you were just being paranoid. you were reading into it too much.
"uhm, yes. of-of course."
oikawa does have to admit, seeing little miss perfect stutter and avert her eyes from him did wonders to his ego. well, now you don't look anything like the goddess his ex-team worships. you're not exuding the same level of confidence or reliability that you always carry yourself with. you look unsure of yourself. powerless in the face of real dominance.
"why are you here?"
"i…" is it really wise for you to say why? "i forgot the team's record notebook in the girl's locker room. i need to pass a summary of it to coach tomorrow.”
oikawa smiles, eyes comically lighting up in excitement before slinging a heavy, oppressive arm around you again. "ooh, i'll come with!"
you walk with shoulders slightly folded in and the ex-captain likes you like this. all meek and submissive. he daresay you look prettier compliant and not like a self-entitled princess who thinks she shouldn't bother being romantically involved with an athlete. he still thinks you were bitchy and idiotic for friend zoning yahaba of all people. he thought you should be very thankful for getting noticed by his junior.
but oh well, at least oikawa gets to have a go.
to witness firsthand what the fuss about you is all about.
you wanted to shrug his arm away and he knows that but he won't do it. the fact that you're struggling to even speak up about it makes him smirk. see, now you know your place. as you should. sometimes, girls like you who get silly little ideas in their head should be reminded of where they truly stand in the food chain. oikawa is more than glad to be the one reminding you.
you told him to wait outside while you sauntered into the girls' locker room and oikawa smiles that innocent smile before nodding.
a prey really shouldn't have turned her back on a predator.
just as you picked up your blue notebook on the bench, the resounding lock of the door clicking shut sounded too loud in a closed-off space. "oikawa—'
"you know, i'd really appreciate if we drop formalities. i think screaming tooru while i fuck you sound way better. makes things more intimate, dontcha think?"
he was onto you before you even got the chance to turn around. the notebook you were holding drops to the ground as he grabs hold of your wrists, his leg swiping at your ankles to tackle you to the ground. he's quick. the floor is hard and cold when your back crashes into it. you wince, the shock of what's happening yet to register in your system. never before thinking that this sort of thing will happen to you.
oikawa isn't as cruel or disgusting as you think. you were both legal adults. he knows. after all, he was there when the team decided to throw you a surprise birthday party on your 18th. he was also there from around the corner, eavesdropping when yahaba pulled you aside and confessed his feelings to you and you had the fucking audacity to turn him down.
he doesn't want to call this revenge, not when he'd still do it whether or not shigeru had confessed.
you were from a different breed of people. worse than geniuses. you are so disgustingly perfect in every sense of the word that it's so fucking unfair. it fueled jealousy more severe than he ever felt from tobio or ushiwaka.
because people aren't perfect. people aren't meant to be perfect. even oikawa himself is far from it so why should you be any different from him? you're nothing special. you're ordinary just like him. you don't deserve it. you're not even working hard enough like oikawa to fucking deserve it!
you were red in the face when he took a good look at your pinned form underneath him. your eyes are glossy but held fierce contempt as you meet his gaze, your lips sealed shut in a straight line. you were trying to hold yourself back from crying and it only fuels the fire of his anger.
"what, think i'm not worth your tears?" he growls, a hand coming up to pull your hair. he sits atop you, his legs pinning yours down as he straddles your hips. "think you're so high and mighty that you won't cry for your oh so dependable oikawa-san?" he purposely makes his voice high-pitched like a girl, copying you spitefully.
"that’s fine, i can give you a real reason to cry."
he rips your flimsy shorts off and ogles at your cute panties. pink with little bows? how innocent.
his large hand covers your mouth, the heavy pressure keeping your head in place as his other hand cups your sex. the heat of his palms makes you squirm. already simulating the sensitive nerves and you poorly try shaking your head in denial. because no no no your body shouldn't be enjoying it!
"ou're a real piece of work, (name)-chan," he starts, voice conversation as he nudges your underwear aside, the flat of his thumb drawing lazy circles against your bare clit. "why pretend you don't like it? it's okay to accept pleasure from ordinary people like me. you're plain and average at best too, you know."
with both his hands occupied, you can freely try pushing him away but it's futile. he's too strong and your head is starting to ache with how hard he's pressing it against the floor.
his blissful expression peeves you out entirely. he doesn't look regretful in the slightest. "you should really get off of that high horse, cutie. stop pushing me away. silly little girls like you belong like this, underneath a capable and powerful man to protect you."
you pant, the ministrations on your clit too good but you don't let it blind you.
"fuck yo—"
but oikawa doesn't let you finish. he swoops in for a kiss, a hand holding your jaw firmly in place so you can't bite him. a particular hard nudge on your clit makes you gasp instinctively and his tongue invades your mouth. he's a good kisser. so damn skilled from all the girls he's kissed before you. maybe if circumstances had been different, you'd have butterflies in your stomach.
"aw," he coos against your lips. "i see. little miss perfect wants me to fuck her? how cute."
you thrash and squirm, a pathetic sneer on your face as he holds you down with ease. all it takes is one firm hold against your shoulder as he nibbles on your neck, kissing and suckling at your skin until they turn purple and red. he placed them in positions he knows you can never cover even with the official aoba johsai uniform. why would you cover them anyway? you should wear his hickeys with confidence! it's the one evidence to show he even bothered himself with you so you should be grateful to him!
"let go of me, you jer—!"
"i don't think i'll suck on your tits today, cutie. no time. let's get to the fucking already then, yeah?"
you absolutely hate his voice. it's the signature high-pitched and childlike tone partnered with that goofy smile of his. a facade he always wears when dealing with other people. a show he's mastered to an artform. he looks awfully unbothered by how wrong this is and it chills you to the bone.
"oikawa-san—please—"
"i told you it's tooru!" he whines, pouting. "how many times do i have to tell you?"
panic seizes you when his ankles hook around your legs to force them open. he hears none of your pleas and shoves two long fingers up your pussy. there's a slight stinging feeling as he looks for that one spot that'll make you succumb, make you admit defeat.
"if you want my dick inside this pussy you better call me by my given name or you won't cum, baby girl~" he says in a sing-song tone.
"who the fuck told you i wanted your—shit."
your toes curl and your back arches when his fingers grazed around a certain area. you didn't have time to feel betrayed by your body's reaction as the man on top of you chuckles condescendingly, angling his fingers so he hits the spot in every single thrust. "you like that, don't you? you like what my fingers are doing."
"no!"
"no?" oikawa repeats, measured. with a flick of his wrist, he has his thumb pressing firmly against the sensitive nerves of your puffy clit again and he watches you writhe, lose yourself to pleasure, moaning and whining so wantonly under him. "but cutie, i don't think that's what your body is telling me."
you cringe in disgust when his hot tongue laps at the falling tears in your eyes before whispering against your ear. breathy, and desperate, and ever so patronizing. you don't hear the zipper of his pants going down, nor did you realize he wasn't even bothering to hold you down anymore. good. that's a good start. baby steps, oikawa thinks. for someone who sat in a make-shift throne worshipped by hormonal teen athletes for so long, serving the one great king will be a huge reset for you.
when he enters, it's a tight fit. of-fucking-course you're a virgin. always staying true to that little miss perfect reputation, huh? sweet and gorgeous but humble and demure. you probably had the same shitty old school belief of staying pure 'till marriage. it makes him harder, makes his length throb and ache with the desire to taint, to soil, to fuck you until that good girl image is stripped away and all you can think about in every waking moment of your useless life is your tooru's big fat cock. your pure lips only producing the most sinful of words to satiate his deepest desires—"fuck me hard, tooru!" "make me your whore, tooru!" "i want to feel all of you, tooru!" "i want your cock so bad, tooru! please please please!"
your longing cries of defeat, the lewd sound of skin slapping, oikawa's pornographic moans—it's a wicked symphony crafted by prodigies. "go on, cutie. cry for me. cry, and cry, and cry, 'til you don't have anything left inside you but your sorry tears and my cum!"
little miss perfect? no. you're his little cockwhore.
All of Our Stars (Sano Manjiro x Reader)
"You're on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
Miles away from seeing you"
Song - All of Our Stars by Ed Sheeran
“And you all have to read the next pages…” The voice of your teacher droned in the background as he repeated the homework for which it felt like the trillionth time after starting the period. Your eyes wandered aimlessly along the Sakura trees which were bare against the melancholic nature surrounding them. Winter break was close at hand, nature was getting ready to welcome the coldness.
You collected your things as the bell rang snapping you off from your daydream. Students rushed out of the classroom, grateful that another exhausting school day was over. Everyone was getting ready for the upcoming exams which were close at hand. You didn’t care much about them. You’re a third year middle school student and everyone in the class was already choosing high schools while you knew you wouldn’t be able to choose yourself. It’s already chosen. You’re moving with your parents to America next year. Your mind was occupied with different thoughts as you took the stairs, finding your way through the crowd of students heading home.
Your eyes wandered to the gate when you noticed him standing there as usual, but he was in his casual attire, not the school uniform. “Skipped school today?” You asked, walking to Mikey. It had been a whole year since you two started dating. It was almost as if when you two are together, time accelerates. You could recall every precious memory like a vivid polaroid. Your first Christmas together, the games at the arcade, and the things you went through when the world of delinquents suddenly crashed into your safe bubble of love. It was beautiful. Every scar, every memory was beautiful.
He stood up straight, no welcoming smile. “You didn’t tell me, Y/n, Why?”
Your smile faded, he knew. You averted your gaze to the ground, absentmindedly poking the sole of your shoe against the ground. “I found out a couple of days ago. It was a sudden decision” You sighed, “So they say”
Mikey stared at you for a moment, “Y/n, what do you want to do?”
You shook your head. That was the question you had in your mind for days. What do you want to do? You didn’t have any idea whether long distance relationships actually worked. Sure, you could visit when it’s a holiday but what about the rest of the days? “C’mon” Mikey took your wrist, guiding you out of the school. You two walked in silence as he slipped his hand to yours, entangling your fingers. A small sign of reassurance. Mikey was good at subtle affectionate gestures. That’s how he loved you, subtle, but affectionate.
“Y/n” He rubbed his thumb across your skin, his eyes looking at the fallen leaves making a thick carpet of red and orange under your feet. “I don’t want to end this”
You smiled, it was obvious, neither did you. “Same here.”
He seemed to consider this for a moment. “We could try long distance.”
“I know…” Your voice trailed off, “But Mikey, what if you-” You stopped, the question was obvious. What if you find someone else? Someone better? You shook your head, “I don’t know”
Mikey tipped his head backwards, looking at the blue sky, heavily covered with clouds. It would be a matter of weeks till snow starts to cover the streets. “I had the same thoughts.” He admitted, turning to you. Both of your fears were valid. Human hearts are fragile and needy. You didn’t know what the future held. “But” He started, “Then I thought of something else. Come, there’s something I have to show you.”
Suddenly, both of you were running across the streets, passing people who were busy with their phones and groceries. Cold wind brushed against your cheeks as you two dashed past annoyed people groaning about youngsters'' manners these days. You didn’t even know the destination until you both stopped in front of a wall filled with graffiti. You knew the place well. Mikey and you came here for your first date. Your eyes instantly reached the bottom corner where Mikey’s messy handwriting was. Written in black ink, contrasting against the patch of white was just one line:
“All of these stars will guide us home”
It was an inside joke between you two. A comfort song of sorts. “Remember here?” Mikey crouched down, his hands softly running over the words. Just underneath his messy writing was your own neat handwriting.
For you and me, and for a future with us together.
Just the first date, but both of you had high hopes for each other. It was rather naive to hope for a future when it had been mere days with you two together. It was precious nonetheless. “You screamed at me that day. Called me out on vandalizing the walls.” He smiled, reaching out a hand to you. You took it and sat down beside him, leaning against the wall, icy cold but holding a vague sense of comfort. This was the first place you two planted an icon of your love together.
“Then five minutes later, I was vandalizing the wall myself” You finished. “You’re such a bad influence, Mikey”
Mikey raised his brow, “I think you’re the bad influence, Y/n. I didn’t beat the crap out of guys with only my shoes.”
You huffed, offended. “First, they were trying to harass me. Second, my heels were the only good weapon I had in my hand. Third, those guys were crap at fighting.”
Mikey shook his head with a laugh, “When I came to the scene, it was all over. I wanted to play the knight who saved the princess, but you didn’t let me.”
You nudged his ribs, “You played the knight several times, Mikey.”
He turned to you. You breath catching against your throat as he reaches for your hair, tucking a stray hair behind your ear. You could feel his breath against your cheek as he held you in his arms, clutching to you as if you were his lifeline. You didn’t blame him. He lost so many people in his life, you knew how much he loved the people around him. Toman wasn’t his treasure. The people in the gang were his treasure. “Where to, next?” You asked, your voice muffled against his black jacket.
He pushed away, “To a certain street sweet shop”
Ah right, you thought as he started walking towards the busy streets of Shibuya. Both of you looked around, taking in the busy lifestyles around you. There was that feeling again, you were detached from the world when you’re with him. It was just him and you, and your hands brushing together as you walked by. You’re going to miss this. You stopped in front of the shop. The pleasant aroma of different types of street food caught your nose. Your mouth waters at the smell. This was the best shop.
Taiyaki sizzled loudly on pains, turning into a golden colour. Mikey’s eyes were firmly planted on them as he ordered two fish shaped cakes, handing one to you. “I will never get sick of this” He spoke through a mouthful of his own.
You kicked his shin playfully, biting into your own. The soft cake melts inside your mouth. “Of course you aren't going to. You stole mine one day!”
Ironically, it wouldn’t be wrong if someone said Taiyaki brought you two together. You two met at this shop. He with his delinquent friends crowded around him, you with your school squad with you. It was a summer evening and there was only one Taiyaki left. You ordered first, but he being the spoiled brat, took it from the man, dropped some coins and dashed out of the shop. You would’ve let it go, but it was your Taiyaki. You dashed after him, ignoring the cries of your friends and the grins of his friends. You chased him down to the river bank where he stood, chomping down on the Taiyaki like a madman.
“I took it first and I paid for it.” He countered, snapping off your thoughts. “I own it, Y/n. I’m no stealer”
“No” You find yourself childishly arguing back, “I ordered it first. You stole it.”
“It’s not stealing when you pay for it.”
“And how are you coming to that conclusion?” You chomped down on your own Taiyaki furiously, getting drowned in crumbs as the crispy sweet crunched at your harsh actions.
“It’s a thing because I say so” Mikey grinned with satisfaction at his argument.
You frowned but kept chewing harshly, as if to offend him. It was a thing with Mikey, you can be childish and at the next moment you could act like mature adults. “You look like you want to bite my face off” He commented, finishing off his and dropping the paper slip into the trash bin.
“I’m afraid I would '' You countered, imitating his actions and looking dusting your hands. The crumbs fell to the floor.
“You’re a messy eater, Y/n” He said, reaching his hands and wiping the corner of your cheek, your eyes lingering against each other for a second longer. “Usually I’m the messy one. Good to have a change of roles” He dropped a kiss on your hair, nuzzling his nose on your head.
“You lovebirds are blocking the door!" the shop owner yelled. But the smile on his face was inevitable. They were regulars at his shop and he had seen both of them grow into lovers from rivals to friends.
“Sorry!” Mikey called out with a slight wave as they both exited the shop. It was like a walk down memory lane. From one thing to another. Shibuya was your love story. Everywhere were scattered memories of your love. “Remember that bench?” Mikey said, gesturing towards a metal bench under a bare Sakura tree.
“We shared my lunch together under that tree” You said, tilting your head as a slight flush reached your cheeks.
Mikey grinned, “You accidentally came to school on a Saturday.”
“Shut it” You huffed, marching to the opposite lane. You knew where you would end up if you just continued to walk. It was another place you made memories. The place you made most of your memories. Mikey skipped a few steps before reaching you.
The river bank was colder than you expected it to be. The wind rushed through your hair as you breathed in the cold air around you. Mikey sat down, patting the grass beside him for you to sit. You slid to the ground and drew your knees to your chest, looking out at the water, overlapping with waves in a soundless muttering. This is where you two came when you needed to talk. The time didn’t matter. You two had midnight talks with each other spilling the insecurities. Somedays, it was just to stay in silence. Nevertheless, this was your happy place. It was the same from all the dangers or reality. A place lost in time.
“Shibuya is going to be a nightmare after you leave” Mikey was laying on the grass, a hand dropped behind his head as he stared into nothingness. “Everywhere I go, it’s memories of you and me. Tiny specks of moments we shared.”
You hummed, “America is going to be even lonelier. No memories. Everything is going to be new and foriegn. Even the people. I’m kinda scared, maybe even terrified, Mikey”
He turned your head and stared at you, “I don’t want to break up, Y/n.”
It was getting dark, you noticed. The sun had already set through the horizons. The stars, one by one came into view, sliding away the darkness with a speck of comfort. The lamp posts on the streets glowed in a healthy yellow breaking through the black night. “Even if we’re going to be away, we’ll be staring at the same sky, watching the same stars each night.” You were talking nonsense, but you did not want to stop. “Mikey, let’s try. I don’t want to let you go either.”
His lips quirked upwards into a soft smile, “Yeah, we should try. You can always come home to me, Y/n. If things get tough out there, you always have a place right here” He said, tapping his finger against his heart. “Don’t be scared. Just be the badass girl you are, they’re going to be terrified”
You let out a surprised laugh, “Terrified enough to send me back home?”
He shrugged, “Worth a try” There was that, his childish tone you adore. You loved him for the man he is. The childish yet mature person. The one you can confide all your secrets to. The one who holds out his hand for you when things get tough. There was no way to let go. You were committed, both of you were. That was love for you. He sat down and turned to you. His dark eyes are watching you intently. “Call me?”
“Every night, I promise” You assured, taking his hands. “Wait for me, Mikey. I’ll be back. If you can wait-”
“I will wait.” He said, cutting you off. He drew closer to you, “There’s always a home with me for you. I promise”
You closed your eyes as you felt tears threatening against them. Love was a series of promises and words. It could be the simple moment you shared with him tonight under a sky filled with stars. For you, love was him and him alone. “I love you” your whispered words were carried by the wind into the night.
“I love you too, Y/n” He said, connecting your lips. Your lips danced together as he pulled you close. The world didn’t matter. His warm hold, cocooning you in mattered more. Your arms held him tightly, lips exploring each other’s warmth and comfort. When you pushed away he pressed his forehead against yours. “I’m going to miss this. I’m going to miss you, Y/n”
You nodded, unable to form words. You’re going to miss this. You’re going to miss him. Your universe. Your guidance to your place called home.
"But I can see the stars from America
I wonder, do you see them too?"
Love & Letter: To The Thirteen Boys I've Loved Before
The Second Letter
----------------
To: Yoon Jeonghan
From: Y/N
Dear Jeonghan,
I hope everything's going well with you, wherever you are. I'm writing you a letter without knowing where you are so even if I did ever decide to send this letter, I wouldn't know where to mail it.
Are you doing well? Why don't you call me? Contact me somehow? Why don't you say something to me? Don't you have anything you want to say to me? Oh right, you don't have my number. I don't know any of your social media accounts and you don't know any of mine. I can search on Facebook for you, through a thousand different “Yoon Jeonghan” profiles, but what would be the point?
Actually, I'm angry with you. I'm really angry and I'm a bit heartbroken too because you just took my heart and left.
Why didn't you tell me beforehand?
I waited for you to return. I spent the rest of my freshman year waiting and I even waited through my summer break, hoping that maybe you'd come back or send a letter. School starts in a month and you still aren't here. I don't know what I feel toward you anymore because you're gone. Do I love you since I'm angry at you like this?
From the first day we met, I could tell we didn't match. I don't even know why you pursued me. You joined the basketball team and whenever you had games, you wanted me to come to watch. I didn't know why so I refused the first few games.
We had many classes together, you know that. Did you use the advantage of being in the same classes as me to try to get to know me? What were your intentions when you asked me if I had lunch? Why did you always ask my friends if I was eating well?
I have so many questions I'm dying to ask now that you're gone. One day you were laughing, joking with me while I watched you practice basketball and the next day you suddenly disappeared. One day of absence turned into months, then half a year. I didn't want to ask but I was dying to know.
Then, the answer finally came.
You moved?
Why didn't you tell me anything?
I thought we were developing something special, was that only me? I thought that you liked me, that's why you did so many things to me, making my heart race and pound. Am I wrong?
If I am wrong, why did you do it?
Maybe I'm completely getting the wrong idea and the sudden move wasn't your fault. I bet that it wasn't your fault. I'm just angry that you didn't inform me. Not everyone moves houses in one day, it takes a lot of planning, doesn't it?
Now I'm just left here, confused.
Now I'm just left here, reminiscing about my second love that disappeared. I'm still remembering the first day we met when you bumped into me at the stairs and held me to keep me from falling backward.
Jeonghan, just, where did you go?
I know this message will never reach you anyway, anyhow, so I'll tell you this much.
Because of you, I changed. Hanging out around a mischievous guy like you made me pick up your habits. Before I knew it, I was playing small pranks on my dad and enjoying it, just like when you and I teamed up to prank the gym teacher into thinking that he had sat on a freshly painted bench. I can still remember how long I laughed because of it.
I still have the pen that you forgot when you were here to study with me. My father constantly asks me where you are and I always reply that I don't know because I don't know.
You came by twice every week for three months because you wanted me to tutor you. I don't know if I became a sheep to you but even though I knew you were gifted intelligent, I tutored you anyway. Jeonghan, you were one of those people who didn't need to study to ace a test. Even your methods of trickery are intelligent.
So as I reminisce, I also wonder why you would do something like that if you didn't like me. You were the one who told me that all men act like this, wanting to be around someone, making up excuses to stay close, and doing things they won't normally do if they like someone. Was that all a trick, Jeonghan?
Not only did you study with me but you studied the times that my dad was gone and came by when he wasn't here. You were respectful toward my dad and kind too, so I wondered how you could have such a naughty nature but at the same time be so caring.
It was one of those days when my dad went to work that you came over. Look, I was so confused that's why I kept stuttering. I knew that you weren't supposed to be at my house at that time of night so we stayed on the porch, gazing at the fallen sky. What were you thinking about? You stared for a long time and didn't say a word. It was the middle of winter too and you came by with your hands tucked in your puffy black jacket with your nose cutely red. You remember this night, don't you? If you don't, I'd go even more nuts than I did.
Why did you kiss me that night?
I mean, we weren't even talking, just gazing at the sky where stars were barely visible. Then all of a sudden, you said, “Look at me.”
I turned to you and then all of a sudden, you kissed me. I honestly didn't expect to get a kiss this early in my life and for it to be from you, the second love who disappeared, I can't be any more disappointed.
Jeonghan, the thief.
Your lips were cold at first but then they grew warm. I'm also sorry if I didn't know how to kiss. I just went with the flow and followed the way your thin lips moved against mine. Your hand also touched my neck as you kissed me, I could still feel the warmth of it lingering on my skin.
After you left that night after kissing me quietly, making my heart burn in the cold night, you stroked my hair. I ran inside my room and rolled on my bed, wanting to scream on my bedsheets because my lips have finally been pressed against another man. A boy that I liked at that.
How about you?
Do you think about that night at all?
It was about two days before you moved away.
Strangely, the next days, you continued to talk to me as if you didn't kiss me the days before. I was confused but since I was naive, I just believed that's how it went for everybody.
Also, because of that kiss, I began to notice your gaze. Maybe I could have noticed something in those two days before your departure. I just remember seeing you gazing at me with different eyes. I want to believe that you had fallen for me, but because of you, I'm being delusional like this.
The only way to know is when you finally decide to speak it true somewhere and it reaches me.
In this letter to you, I just can't help expressing the emotions I'm feeling. I have nowhere else to rant and I need you to know about my feelings though you'll never receive this letter.
Gosh, writing this letter makes me remember the weekend that you took me biking on a couple bicycle. Why did you ask me to go with you when you were leaving the next day? It's not like you at all. Knowing you for those short six months, you would have just told me with a pitiful face, “I'm going to move.”
Instead, you kissed me and decided to take me biking. I can still remember that grin on your face when you came to my house and said, “Hop on, Y/N.”
The wind that hit my face that day was amazing and my heart was racing just to have my hands around your waist.
Because of you, I became rebellious for the first time. I never disobeyed my father. He told me to go buy groceries that day and I went on a bike ride with you, enjoying the chilly winter breeze and ditching groceries. When we arrived at the basketball court, I watched and played a bit of basketball with you. Do you know what that means, Jeonghan?
Were you aware this whole time of my feelings? I know you can read other people's expressions well.
I can't understand you, Jeonghan. I don't think I ever will unless you come back and tell me.
I won't believe what any of your friends say even if it's the only source I have. ‘You moved away because a different high school was giving you bigger opportunities’, how am I supposed to believe that? In the middle of the school year?
Now, all I can do is sigh.
I won't wait for you anymore. That's why I'm just going to leave it. I loved you. Now, you're just one of the boys I've loved. I'm not going to spend the rest of my summer waiting to find a needle in a haystack.
I'll remember how I loved you. I'll remember how you changed me. I'll remember how loving you changed me.
I'll wonder sometimes about what we could have been if you didn't leave. If you didn't leave, I think I would have still been in love with you. Now, I'm pretty sure I would still be in love with you, at least for a little longer.
Please, send me a letter.
I know the chances are low.
I'm still angry at you for not telling me. If you did like me and think you did it for our own good, you're wrong. At least I wouldn't have had to wait and worry for the weeks that you disappeared that your life's clock stopped ticking. If you did tell me beforehand, I would have known that you'd be fine and that you were just moving away.
Did you have no faith in us?
Or did you really find a better opportunity in a better high school somewhere far away?
I'm still angry.
Is this what you call ‘the one that got away’?
Anyway, I don't love you now, but if you come back, I might again. I can't make up my mind.
I miss you, Jeonghan.
Sincerely,
Y/N
