Second chance to cupid

Tumblr media
Not usually favouring sports, you’re in the journalism club to make use of your great eye for design and writing. After watching one of your school’s volleyball team’s official games last season, you took notice of the boring brochures they handed out with the players’ information. You hadn’t yet chosen what to do for your project this semester and decided to lend your talents to making a better representation of the team’s charms and talents. What you didn’t expect to get out of the project was a date.
You received permission from their coach and captain and set up some equipment to take your photos in a room adjacent to the gym during practice. Hopefully, you can encourage them all to pose confidently. In order to not disturb their whole practice, you ask one grade to join you at a time, starting with the first-years and ending with the third-years. Good luck!
Tumblr media
You were already very familiar with Bokuto. The guy was so outgoing that he’s had an interaction with almost every student at Fukurodani, and your conversations simply spurred into many more of them. A couple of days a week, you would see him in the hallway and he would wave excitedly while yelling your name, so that’s how you also ended up talking a lot to Akaashi. It always brightened your day and you could easily admit you grew a bit extra fond of Akaashi as the two of you started spending time together without the third wheel, despite his complaints about it.
Akaashi found you very interesting. He loved listening to you ramble about your club and other interests whenever you two were together. In some ways, your excitement reminded him of Bokuto. Now, some people think Bokuto is stupid. He is not, because when he sees how you two interact, there is no doubt in his mind that something is going on. Bokuto said yes to this project before you even finished your first sentence, which made you laugh softly and thank him before continuing to explain anyway. After meeting with you, he excitedly told Akaashi all about it even though he already heard about it from you, but Bokuto enjoyed how Akaashi seemed so happy about it coming true. That’s why Bokuto asked him during practice if he was planning on asking you out soon.
“What?” Akaashi said, grabbing the ball instead of passing it back.
“Y/n. Shouldn’t you ask her out soon?” the captain asked, gesturing for Akaashi to keep going with the drills. He didn’t.
“Uhh maybe
” Bokuto walked over, annoyed that he wasn’t passing but also smiling as he got an idea and interrupted Akaashi from answering further.
“You can do it while she’s here for the project!” he suggested, imagining some grand scene that didn’t suit Akaashi at all. “Make it real romantic, like when she’s taking the picture you say ‘your pretty smile is even brighter than the camera flash’ and magically whip out a bouquet of roses.”
“I will do it, Bokuto. At some point.” Akaashi assured him, stern but still soft as he wanted Bokuto to feel like he was helping in some way. “She doesn’t even like roses
” he mumbled as well. His mind went into overthinking for a while, mindlessly passing the ball between him and Bokuto.
Akaashi had put emphasis on the will because he planned on doing it the day after your photo shoot when you two shared lunch and discussed the player details. However, he didn’t notice that he didn’t emphasise that idea to his friend. The captain was thrilled because all he heard was you’re right, I will.
The photo shoot was easy so far. The Fukurodani team knew how to look confident and you had an all around good time with them. Your waves of laughter could be heard from outside the room and you all spent the time well. Akaashi seemed happy and you wondered if the room might be too hot as his cheeks were slightly red when you looked at him through the camera lens. He gave you a little smile and put his hands on his hips, doing his best to make you happy with his effort.
You took the picture and put the camera down in your lap to check it, whistling and then looking back up at the guy. “That’s great, Akaashi.” He had given you a couple of options.
He was the last one, so you sent another second year to get the third-years and kept making jokes with everyone as they shuffled out. Akaashi walked a bit slower, thanking you for doing the project for them and telling you to have good luck with the others. Well
 with Bokuto.
“Hey, hey, hey!” Bokuto walked in first and bounced over to you, putting an arm over your shoulder and asking if you were doing alright. You confirmed but were still watching Akaashi as he left, giving Konoha a high five and then glancing over his shoulder at you. Bokuto looked between you two excitedly before yelling out. “Hey, Akaashi! Did you ask her out like you planned to?”
Akaashi froze, slowly turning around with a face filled with horror. You were surprised, frowning at Bokuto because you had not been asked about anything like that. Akaashi huffed and avoided your eyes. “No, I was going to do it tomorrow for lunch,” he whispered under his breath, sounding absolutely exasperated.
“So you already have a date tomorrow, that’s great!” Bokuto said, and Akaashi had to gather all his strength to not hit him over the head and make him too dejected before you had to deal with him. Everyone else in the room was laughing at the show and you couldn’t help the small chuckle either. Even though your cheeks were burning red, you smiled brightly and gave Akaashi a little wave.
“I look forward to our date, Akaashi. Get back to practice, I’ll send this one back to you when I’m done with him,” you teased, nodding your head at Bokuto who was giving off ‘I know I did something wrong but I’m happy with the outcome’ vibes.
“Just call me Cupid, I can be hired for any volleyball-related dating proposals,” he announced, making the other team members wince. No way.

Kuroo, Oikawa, and Bokuto ( separately) forgetting about the scratch marks their s/o left behind and can we get an f in the chat for their poor teams eyes 😔
This is such a funny ask this was so cute!! NSFW warning
Their S/O leaves scratch marks on their back and they forget.
Kuroo Tetsurou
Kuroo has pretty high libido, okay? Once you guys started having sex, he couldn't keep himself off you
In your car, on his kitchen table, in the janitors closet. Name a place, you've probably screwed there at least once
Even a quickie in the clubroom right before practice (it's risky, you both know that, but that makes it more fun)
Kuroo has a generally disheveled look anyways so he thought he could get away with it. He didn't even take his shirt fully off, only his pants, so he manages to get dressed pretty quickly
His lips are a bit red and puffy, but he'll just say it's allergy season, right? No biggie
So he starts getting changed, pretending he's not someone who just got down and dirty. It's fine, right? No one will notice
And then from behind him he hears Lev go "oh, Kuroo is a man now."
Hmm?
Kuroo doesn't say anything, hoping to maintain his secrecy, and just quirks an eyebrow at Lev, feigning ignorance
That is, until Kenma looks up from his game to go [Y/N] really did a number on your thighs"
Kuroo looks down. Lovebites, everywhere, and plenty of scratch marks. Damn you and your thigh kink
"Did you just say [Y/N]?" is Yaku's response. You and Kuroo weren't exactly public yet
Kuroo gulps. How was he going to explain this to you later?
But before he sees you again, he needs to calm down his team. The first years are practically bouncing off the walls in equal parts embarssment and excitment for their captain
He's not sure what to say, really. "Yeah we just banged!" isn't exactly elegant so he settles on "it's no big deal. I'll probably have more later so you might as well get used to it."
Well, that didn't work at settling them down out all
(Kai offers Kuroo some neosporen bc he is a delight)
When you go to meet Kuroo and walk home after practice, you can't help but notice the way Yamamoto and Inuoka go bright red. You look at Kuroo expectantly
"Got something to tell me?"
Oikawa Tooru
Oikawa doesn't forget about the scratch marks. He knows damn well that they're there, and he wants his teammates to know, too
They all know about his partner already, considering you're the only one allowed to wear his jersey at games and you visit their practices often
They assume you've had sex because Oikawa was never one to hold back in the first place and you've been dating for long enough
But Oikawa wants to rub it in their faces
This man deliberately waits to change until most of his team is in the lockeroom and when he does, he's slowly and sensually pulling his shirt off
Kindaichi is the first to notice (or rather, the first to care. Kunimi and Yahaba both saw and ignored it) and he can't bring himself to look his captain in the eyes for the rest of the week. Everytime he does, his ears flush red
Watari sees and locks eyes with Oikawa and just gives him a respectful nod and a thumbs up
Matsukawa and Hanamaki, though. They won't let this chance get away
Hanamaki immediately swoops in for the kill. "Scratch marks? These definitely aren't from [Y/N] there's no way they don't top you"
Matsukawa joins as well, "did you get into a fight with a stray cat?"
But the real killer is Iwaizumi, as always.
"Cover up, Shittykawa, no one wants to see that."
The rest of the team takes this as an excuse to ignore their captain bc he usually gives advice like "you've got to respect your body to play volleyball" (regarding food and drink) but today they've learned what a hypocrite he really is
Oikawa tried, he really did.
Bokuto Koutarou
Bokuto doesn't mean to have rough sex, really, he just can't help it
This man has stamina out the wazoo. He can go for round after round and the over stimulation that comes with it has your nails tearing up his back
But he is so ripped he barely even notices!!
Has practice the day after one of your escapades and really he wasn't thinking about it at all. After all, right now was volleyball time, not you time
Bokuto is always in the lockeroom the whole time to check up on everyone and lighten the mood (he's still captain, after all) so no one is spared the sight
He unbuttons his shirt as usual, while he's having a conversation, and the lockeroom falls silent
Becsuse Bokuto is a beautiful specimen of a man, and even the straightest dudes can't help but admire his sculpted back, alright?
And so everyone sees immediately the remnants of last night
Finally, the silence is broken by Konoha with a lot whistle. "[Y/N], that poor thing"
There's some giggles and laughter but everyone moves on from it fairly quickly
Akaashi walks up to Bokuto after practice and goes "do you need some ointment? It's not very fitting for our captain to be covered in scratch marks"
Bokuto looks at Akaashi, eyes wide, as the gears turn in his head.
"Oh!" He realizes. "That's why everyone was looking at me weird in practice."
The next day he makes a speech in the lockeroom to assure everyone that sex with you won't change his commitment to volleyball and when you hear about it the next day you feel yourself burning with embarrassment the whole time

⭒ haikyuu x exam season ⭒
Tumblr media
Daichi- when i say he is the MOODIEST person when studying. It’s all fun and games until you interrupt him one too many times and he fucking explodes. Needs 2 chill
Suga- his goal in life is to be an aesthetic studyblr like this man will go and get iced coffee, order the prettiest stationary and then spend 20 minutes organising it for his instagram. As for ACTUALLY studying? He’s amazing at it. Literally the person we all aspire to be
Asahi- anxiety crams before tests. He does more than like 70% of his classmates but is always convinced he’s fallen behind on everything. Cries a LOT when he doesnt understand smth
Noya- another one who cries only he does it SO easily. Personally victimised by anything past question 1. Gets literally everyone to do his work for him
Tanaka- tries so hard he really really does. His handwriting is a mess and his notes look like something a 7 year old would do. Gets everything wrong but doesnt let it stop him
Ennoshita- did someone say pretentious straight A student??? Offers to help his friends just so he can flex his pretty notes and intelligence. Seems like he has everything under control but really? He cries like once a night in the lead up to exams
Kageyama- he doesnt have any room for anything in his head that isnt volleyball. Hes hopeless
Hinata- LACKS COMMON SENSE SO BAD. He’ll finally understand EVERYTHING but write the answer in the wrong place or leave out a decimal place in the exam. Stupidest mistakes
Tsukishima- he sticks to a study schedule like what? Who tf sticks to a schedule? Doesnt like to flaunt his grades around anyone who isnt hinata and kageyama, but akiteru and his mom are 100% the type to post his grades all over facebook like “so proud of my son !!!!!!”
Yamaguchi- the king of saying he hasn’t done much for exams, but then stays up every night til 2am studying. He HATES people having any expectations of him so keeps all his preparation secret lmao.
Tumblr media
Kuroo- hes smart and he flaunts it so bad. 100% a teacher's pet, especially for science. Around exam season he lives in the library. Motivates kenma to study with him too tho hes so supportive
Kenma- hes naturally smart, which is like 70% of the reason his grades are good bc he does NOT study. Leaves it all to the night before/ when hes with his friends in the library but other than that nope he doesnt have energy
Lev- doesn't fully register he’s taking a test until he’s 3 questions in and hasn’t written a single word. Then he starts panicking.
Tumblr media
Bokuto- he goes through the 5 stages of grief every single time he has to study. Gets frustrated as hell when he cant understand something, gets distracted by everything, a mess. Always leads to him slamming his textbook shut and sulking for an hour
Akaashi- the only one in fukurodani who actually spreads his studying out over the year so he doesnt have to cram. He has pretty notes and diagrams but still gets so stressed smh
Konoha- “yeah ill study in ten minutes” *cue him 6 hours later only starting* studies mostly at night and doesnt care about grades , yet still manages to score really good on every test
Tumblr media
Oikawa- if this man is anything he’s dedicated. Actually finds balance between volleyball and studying when exam season’s in full swing, but that doesnt mean he still doesnt overwork himself. Surviving on 40 minutes of sleep and coffee lmao
Mattsun- doesn’t take school seriously at all. Hes like “who cares im gonna die one day” “if i dont know it now ill never know it”. So fucking chill
Makki- tries to be like issei so bad but it fails every time. He’s like “yeah who cares about biology anyway lmao”. He is a liar. He cried for 2 hours over biology last night smh. Biology is actually his number one care.
Iwa- naturally smart and follows a routine. The only healthy studier in seijoh tbh. Motivates his friends so much though hes the only reason mattsun and makki pass smh
Tumblr media
Ushijima- sounds pretentious but he doesnt mean it. The worst person to study with because hes so naturally smart and makes everyone feel stupid. Hes like “how do you not understand this? Its easy?”
Tendou- hes so average when it comes to studying i cant even explain it. He goes home and studies, has dinner, watches some anime and studies a little more, then just goes to bed? Never overly concerned about it but hes the best for calming nerves. Makes you really believe things will be okay
Goshiki- CHRONIC WORRIER OH MY GOD. definitely gets the shakes before an exam and almost has a fuckin panic attack every single time, never feels prepared but he really is. Needs tendou for emotional support
Tumblr media
Atsumu- too confident in his abilities lmao. He’s like “yeah ive got this i totally know it” then acts shocked and appalled when he fails. Thinks he’s the main character, therefore he HAS to pass. He’s not. And he never learns.
Osamu- the slightly smarter twin yet still not exceptional in any way. Doesnt really care about grades, he knows there’s more to life but still studies enough to pass
Kita- hello mr “whats a failing grade”. Never stresses and never fails. Actually the top of his class in basically everything. Manages to study and still find time for hobbies.
Tumblr media
Aone- i am convinced a hug from him would get me through exam season every single year. Another person who just? Doesnt stress? Follows a routine and doesnt mind if he doesnt know something in the test. wow
Futakuchi- “i dont care about exams at all fuck them” *gets 53% and cries*. He doesnt have the patience to study and feels betrayed when all his friends actually do the work
Koganegawa- hes like hinata only he actually passes most of the time. Works SO hard and gets so happy when it pays off!! Always treats himself to mcdonalds after an exam thats self love babie
Tumblr media
Terushima- you need to be cautious around this man. He’ll spend every night of exam season partying and ignoring any responsibility, yet still come out with 100% in everything. Where does he find the time? How does that work? What the fuck?

Haikyuu!! SPOILERS: Chapter 401, How We Connect the Dots.
**PENULTIMATE SPOILERS BELOW**
I just posted a video with my live reactions to the chapter, but here are my highlights, because FURUDATE YOU MADMAN GENIUS. This chapter connected so much together. So, let’s do:
Tumblr media
My Top 10 Thoughts on Haikyuu!! Chapter 401:
10. Of course. In true Furudate fashion, he has Kageyama block the spike from Hinata, BUT, what Kageyama doesn’t realize is all the training on the beach Shoyo has done to prepare for such a moment. And that heel kick! *swoons* Also, someone reacting to Season 4, Episode 9 of the anime, where Hinata kicks the ball back to himself called this happening all those months ago...Furudate is next level at foreshadowing. Not that we didn’t already know that.
Tumblr media
9. Hey, remember how in the VERY FIRST chapter of Haikyuu!! Shoyo did this crazy run across the court to score? Yeah, Furudate knows we remember. And he pulls this -- and Kageyama’s beautiful reaction, only for --
Tumblr media
-- Only for it to all be a DECOY. Kageyama, you made this monster, you know. I love that Shoyo has come all this way from wanting to score all the points to accepting that the decoy DOES have a vital role to play, and in this instance, it’s allowing Bokuto to score the winning point for the MSBY Black Jackals. Just look at that smile! And of course, Tanaka and Asahi KNOW the power of Hinata as a Decoy...because they’ve been in Bokuto’s shoes before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. UGH, the aftermath of that moment is glorious, which will detail down below -- but I love Shoyo and Kageyama’s interaction, though. How they’re still keeping track of each other’s wins and losses, exhausting Miya, hilariously, and showing that they’re on equal footing now, after all these years. This chapter is just cementing the last several chapters’ worth of character development.
Tumblr media
7. ARE YOU SHIPPERS READY FOR YOUR FOOD?!
Because these next few pages were healing my shipper heart. I mean, yes, the Kagehina fanbase is raving right now, but let’s talk about THESE ships below, starting with:
Tsukishima x Yamaguchi:
So, Tsukishima, of course, is not sappy about any of this and just points out how the season’s just getting started (ready the fanfics, y’all).
And of course, Yamaguchi wants to watch Tsuki play! Yachi says she’ll come too! I LOVE how just like he was with Akiteru, he doesn’t want them to come watch (even though we all know he’ll love it when they’re there). Now, some people have commented that Yamaguchi could be with Yachi, but y’all...Yachi is in Tokyo. Yamaguchi and Tsuki both live in Miyagi. I can’t wait for all the Sendai Frog/TsukiYama fanfics!
Tumblr media
If you’re looking for an extra Kagehina crumble, just look at the end of this adorable exchange between Romero, smol adorable Rubens, and Shoyo (who perfectly crouches down to talk to him MY HEART I CAN’T), to see Kageyama notice that Shoyo can speak multiple languages...oh, honey! If only you know about Hinata and Pedro’s marathons of DBZ in Portugese and English! ^^
Tumblr media
Also, Furudate WE SEE YOU. We see you being meta and implying that now Haikyuu!! is over, he’s moving on...Akaashi’s line about going forward hit me hard...it’s like he’s telling us, the fandom, that going on to start something new isn’t so bad. SO YOU SAY.
BOKUAKA NATION -- WE CANON NOW, RIGHT?!
I love that Akaashi gets to interview Bokuto (IS HE GOING TO BE THE STAR of the Volleyball manga Tenma Udai is writing?! He would be PERFECT for it!) and how happy Akaashi looks, even if he and Bokuto realize how differently they view the term “normal.”
ALSO, it’s implied above that Akaashi, Bokuto, and Tenma were going out for drinks...which now....we know that it’s just Bokuto and Akaashi, since Tenma was going home. Uhm, FAN FIC WRITERS ASSEMBLE!
Tumblr media
I also love that Udai joins the club, along with Fukurodani’s coach and manager, of people who realize that Bokuto and Akaashi are weirdos but they are weirdos together, so it’s fine.
Keeping the “Ship Train” going, we get little bits of Shimizu x Yachi from the bathhouse before the Inarizaki Match, where Kiyoko finally acknowledges she is okay showing her legs...thanks to Yachi’s words. I also find Suga wanting to know “the tea” on the situation to be adorable.
Tumblr media
AND FINALLY, YES, Y’ALL:
I was spoiled with Kuroo’s return, but seriously, Furudate, you saved him for the end here so INTENTIONALLY.
Because OF COURSE Kuroo would work for the JVA. As a promoter. CONNECTING people...with Volleyball...because that’s the Nekoma way.
And FURUDATE ARE YOU SUGGESTING TO US THAT KUROO AND KENMA ARE BUSINESS PARTNERS AND COLLABORATORS BECAUSE MY KUROKEN HEART IS SOARING --
-- and let it be known Atsumu Miya rightfully doesn’t trust Kuroo, and neither does Sakusa. A nice SakuAtsu crumb where we actually see Sakusa agree with Miya without sacrasm or question! Poor Shoyo is a salesman’s dream, though. I mean, Kuroo does look a little sketchy in some of those shots...BUT....
Tumblr media
6. Kuroo’s speech about sports was SO fitting. Seriously, everything he says here is BASICALLY what makes Haikyuu!! such a great series. I DID laugh out loud at the line about “hardly anybody dies.”
*Flashbacks to “Dead Daichi” meme*
5. It’s taken us the ENTIRE series, but Kageyama finally talks to Kindaichi and Kunimi. This was so heartwarming, seeing Kageyama wanting to play WITH THEM. AS A TEAM. This made my heart expand three sizes. The character development on Kageyama, and Kindaichi, is through the roof.
I also LOVE Kunimi the most in these panels. Kunimi is a MOOD.
Tumblr media
Y’ALL. I’VE WAITED 400 CHAPTERS FOR THIS PANEL OF THESE THREE HAPPY AND BECOMING FRIENDS AGAIN.
Tumblr media
4. I love that Hoshiumi doesn’t see Hinata as a Rival, but as someone that is going to help him show the rest of the world the strength of someone who doesn’t have height. I also find it interesting that we see the Japanese Olympic Coach walking out just as Hoshiumi gives us that beautiful gaze. So...does Hoshiumi know he’s going to be on the Olympic team, with Hinata, maybe? Foreshadowing, perhaps?
Tumblr media
3. Okay, okay, I held it together until this page.
It wasn’t Ushijima’s panel with Washijo that got me.
It wasn’t Saeko and Akane reuniting, though that was sweet.
It wasn’t the three “Pure Captains” reuniting, though it made my heart happy.
It honestly wasn’t the five first years together, either. They’re all so happy and having a laugh at Kageyama’s expense, and as beautiful as that panel is.
SUGAWARA IN LINE TO GET KAGEYAMA’S AUTOGRAPH.
That is what got me.
Him in line, so meekly, to get the autograph of his kouhai, the man Suga joked would have to tell about how much he learned from HIM when he was giving out interviews and autographs...I just...Sugawara made me cry. That is all.
Tumblr media
2. Then there’s this last page. 2021.
"We overcame difficulties and stand here.”
Furudate really said “screw you” to Covid messing up the timeline.
Tumblr media
Yes, seeing Kageyama and Hinata in their original jersey numbers was amazing, but I think we all saw that coming if these two happened to get on the Olympic team.
What I want to focus on are the two countries we see included in the bottom corner here. We see:
Brazil -- and some fluffy haired man carrying the flag for the team.
And we see the United States -- there’s several American Flags and stars and stripes on the shirts of the crowd, there.
SO, HEADCANON TIME:
* Oikawa was on the Argentinean League, so could he play for Brazil? It’s not likely, but not impossible....BUT, I don’t think that’s it.
I don’t think Oikawa is on Japan’s National Team for the Olympics.
If he is on the Olympic Team, I think he’ll be on America’s.
Why? Because, and this could be because I’m the biggest IwaOi shipper, but Iwaizumi was still in the United States with Ushijima’s father at the end of Chapter 395. And if he’s still there, there is no reason why Iwaizumi couldn’t be a physical trainer alongside Ushijima’s father for the U.S. Olympic team. And why wouldn’t Oikawa trek over to the States to be on the same team as Iwa-Chan’s working with? I’m probably wrong, BUT --
We also still need to see Seijoh’s banner, and as others have theorized, how fitting would it be to see Hinata, Kageyama, and (probably) Ushijima on the team facing Oikawa? I just....I’m betting money that Oikawa shows up in 402. I hope we at least see him on the Olympic Stage. OIKAWA DESERVES IT.
1. So, who are we missing that hasn’t been shown yet?
We still need to see the rest of Nekoma (Lev, Yaku, Yamamoto, Kai....could they be in the stands or on the Japan team? I guess we’ll find out!)
We haven’t seen Daishou and Mika -- I would love to see them watching or narrating in the audience during the Olympic game.
And finally, yes, we’ve seen Tendo in the Chapter 395 flashback, but we’ve never seen what he’s DOING. Furudate has shown us with every character what they’ve been doing since the timeskip....EXCEPT TENDO. I’m calling it that he’ll appear one more time next chapter, too.
So....guys....I’m staying off of Social Media from Wednesday to Sunday next week, to prep for the last chapter and not be spoiled. I’m going to do a live reaction for YouTube, and I’ll post it here. You can see the one I did for 401 now.
Furudate, this series has been immaculate. Time for one more round.
Let’s all cry together next week.

⛾💙🏒
Bokuto is not happy with his coach.
What was the guy thinking, moving their entire training operation to the other side of Tokyo, in the middle of game season?
It’s absolutely ridiculous.
When Bokuto arrives on the first day he notices that the new complex is large, containing three separate rinks and various training rooms. He’s surprised to see that it includes a speed skating track.
Never having seen such a track before, he wanders over to check it out.
The moment he walks in, something shoots past him, so fast he thinks he imagined it. But no—it’s real: A young man, clad in a skin-tight suit, aerodynamic helmet and skates with blades much longer than his own is racing around the track.
Bokuto watches in awe as the skater makes another few laps in record time. He’d thought he was fast but damn, this man is like the wind itself! He’s amazing!
Eventually the athlete slows down, straightening out of his racing stance, and Bokuto can’t help but stare. His eyes travel up and down the man’s lithe yet strong-looking form. Wow, he thinks, those thighs

The man glides past Bokuto and they lock gazes for a brief second. He has the loveliest eyes Bokuto has ever seen: a unique blue-green color. He feels his cheeks redden.
Surprisingly, the man comes to a full stop and spins around, his mouth falling open slightly. “You're Bokuto Koutarou,” he says, and Bokuto blinks in surprise.
“Oh! Um, y-yes!” He nods, leaning his arms on the wall of the rink. “You, um, follow ice hockey?” The man nods, fiddling with his gloved hands in front of him as he skates closer.
“I do. That last game was absolutely incredible, Bokuto-san. You scored the winning goal.”
Proud, Bokuto puffs out his chest. “I sure did! So um, you train here?”
Another nod. “It’s the only track of its kind in the area.” He hops off the ice and heads for a nearby bench, where a pair of sneakers sit waiting. “Why are you here, Bokuto-san?”
As Bokuto explains, the man carefully replaces his skates with shoes. Slowly, he reaches up and removes his helmet, and Bokuto’s words die in his throat as the skater runs his fingers through a mop of very soft-looking locks.
He’s quite possibly the prettiest human being Bokuto has ever seen.
“Well,” the man says, standing and grabbing his skates. “I suppose we’ll be seeing a lot of each other, then.”
“Oh! Yeah!” Bokuto grins, willing the redness on his ears away. “At least I hope so, um..?”
“Akaashi Keiji.” The man smiles softly. “It’s wonderful to officially meet you, Bokuto-san.” He offers him a small wave before turning and heading in the direction of the locker rooms.
Bokuto nods, entirely forgetting that Akaashi—Akaashi Keiji, what a lovely name—can’t see the motion. He’s too preoccupied watching the man, still wearing that perfectly figure-hugging suit, walk away.
It’s quite a delicious sight.
Hmm, he thinks, Maybe coach was right to move them after all

//
I love winter sports, and even though I don't plan on watching much of the Olympics, I'm still gonna write some silly BokuAka to celebrate! đŸ„°â€ïžÂ Thanks for reading, and please share and leave a comment if you enjoyed!

Kou, Wake Up Koutaro!
“How do you guys cope with each other’s sleep schedule, you’re a night owl and he’s a literal energy ball?” has always been the question Akaashi receives whenever his relationship with Bokuto is brought up, but contrary to popular belief.
Koutaro has always been a heavy sleeper and you have to double that during intense training days months before the opening of a new season. He takes a minute or two completely lying on the bed staring at nothing to orient himself, reprogramming his senses to be able to function properly. It has been an unspoken rule to not wake him abruptly and make him function, it’s the perfect recipe for chaos.
Also, another hoax is that Akaashi is a killjoy kind of dude. He’s not, if anyone would ask his former teammates in Fukurodani or Nekoma players, they would laugh at the mention of it. Akaashi has always been great at pulling innocent pranks and surprising someone, pranks that he could easily get away from because he doesn’t look like he would do such a thing.
Koutaro’s birthday is hours away and none of their friends have heard from Akaashi about his plans on his beloved’s birthday, they just hope and standby that it wouldn’t go chaotic as last year.
“Kou, wake up! Koutaro- Wake up!!!” Keiji hurriedly say as he shook him awake.
“Huh- uh? Who are you?”
“Wake up, Koutaro! We have to hide the body!” Keiji continued, tapping Koutaro’s cheek to wake him fully.
“Body- what? Where am I?”
“We have to hide the body! There’s no meat or crackers in prison, Kou!!!” He pulled his boyfriend up against the headboard, but Koutaro has already been shaken awake with the mention of prison.
“PRISON??? NOO I DON’T WANNA GO TO JAIL I’M INNOCENT-”
“Shh!! The neighbors might hear you! We have to hide the body properly so we don’t have to go to prison. Let’s go before the police arrive!” Keiji pushed him to their living room where said ‘body’ is found.
“But who are you! There- there’s another me.. WHAT??? WHAT’S HAPPENING??”
“I told you, we have to hide the body!” Keiji gestured towards the mannequin where they pasted Koutaro’s cardboard standee.
“BUT THAT’S ME!! WHO AM I IF THAT’S ME??? KEIJI STOP LAUGHING!!” Keiji couldn’t suppress his laughter any longer and is now kneeling on the floor, laughing his lungs out.
“Wait- Keiji?! Yaaah!! Answer me!” Koutaro demanded, patiently waiting for the other to stop laughing.
“I- I’m sorry, my love. It was a silly idea I just thought of last minute. Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard this month.”
“But what’s happening, Ji? Why’s there a mannequin of me in the middle of our living room??”
“Ah! Right right. I made it yesterday to see if the clothes would suit you. Come closer, love.” Keiji gestured to Bokuto did, pulling Keiji between his arms in a back hug.
He tiptoes as he gently discards the cardigan from the mannequin and turning around without pulling away to show it to the taller.
“Well, I’ve been thinking to give you something for you to take whenever you go to your away games or just simply when your training gets too much. Kuroo pointed you would love a jacket especially after training or games so you won’t catch a cold.”
“And you bought me this cardigan?”
“I
made it actually. The exact size you would love since the sizes and designs in the mall aren’t that unique.”
“Awee, my baby wanted me to have something only I have!”
“Yes, yes I do. So I made this, it’s reversible you see-” Keiji continues to explain hw he made the cardigan, and Koutaro’s eyes just focus on him, leaving the world around them in a blur.
It’s a dark blue cotton cardigan, big enough to have space for Keiji to sneak in. Has two front pockets with insulation to warm the taller’s hands after the games. There’s a massive galaxy littering from the back upto the front where several stars and moons were painted with white and silver colors, surrounding a golden sun at the center of the back. Inside was the black fabric that could be reversible to Koutaro’s liking. It holds a simple design that clutched Koutaro’s heart. Keiji’s signature that occupies the entire space of the back.
“I know it doesn’t look like i would put a mark on you but-”
“I love you
”
“Oh- I love you too, Kou. You like it?”
“I love it, baby! Especially your signature, i love how pretty it looks and it would be pretty on me too, right?”
“Everything’s pretty on you.”
“I love you, my darling little sweetheart. Thank you~”
“I love you too, my beloved sunshine. Anything for you~”
They stood there in the middle of the night, in their living room, indulging in the warmth and love each other radiates. They couldn’t ask for more, for all they need was each other.
“Why the gift tho?” Koutaro breaks the comfortable silence, sending Keiji in another fit of laughter.
“My love, it’s already 2 in the morning.”
“Yes and? Is it our anniversary? Oh my gosh, Keiji i forgot to prepare you a gift!”
“Happy birthday my lovely owl. I love you to the moon and back.” Keiji finishes, shutting the other with a quick peck on his lips.
“To the moon and back, darling. You always have me.” Kou whispers before showering the other’s face with soft little kisses.

Bokuto, Nishinoya, Oikawa and Terushima reacting to their s/o wearing their jersey
requested: hihi may i request headcannons of Bokuto, Noya, Oikawa and Terushima (seperate) where their s/o is wearing their volley jersey/jacket and their reaction of it please thank you! ♡
I am back from the dead lmao, can you believe? I know it’s hard to, but in a brilliant moment this week I suddenly had the urge to write something haikyuu related again soooo... this happened. Hope I didn’t forget how to write this stuff, it’s been a few weeks. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Also I don’t think I’ll be back with posting regularly again, because there’s still a shit ton of other things coming my way this month, but maybe afterwards it’ll be better again? Can’t promise you, but I really hope so, because I also can not WAIT for the second part of season 4!!
Bokuto Kotarou:
Tumblr media
You really wanted to be on time today. Really really badly. You knew how important it was for your boyfriend, for his team. It was one of the most important matches of their career. They had spent the last months solely training and practicing for this day. And now here you were, missing almost all of it. Just because of the stupid rain, stupid traffic, stupid crowds.
You were soaking wet by the time you arrived at the big gym, droplets of water dripping all over the floor as you ran through the halls, following the echoing sounds of shouts and a ball bouncing off the floor.
You coughed wildly as you opened the squeaking door to the game hall, water still running down your wet hair, creating tiny puddles all over the floor, but you didn’t notice the critical looks from other people standinmg on the sidelines. As soon as you were blinded by the bright stadium lights, your eyes flew across the hall, trying to find the one individual you were here for. You expected Bokuto to stand somewhere on the field, maybe near the net, eager to punch a ball and spike it across it to score. But you were surprised to find him sitting on the bench, head drooping, his hair all over the place. You couldn’t even see his face, but his posture told you everything you needed to know about his current situation. Even though the team was winning, Bokuto didn’t feel like it at all.
Immediately you gulped and took off your jacket, trying to find a way through the crowd of people standing around. You raised your hand and called his name a couple of times, but it was Akaashi who noticed you first. His eyebrows perked up in surprise and heasked his coach to ask for a time out in the game. You quickly ran over to him, but he didn’t give you no time to speak. “I’m so glad you’re finally here. We already made up scenarios for what might happen if you don’t show up, but this is really good. And you even-” He step away and looks down at your body, where one of Bokuto’s jerseys was hanging off your shoulders. Usually you never wore his training clothes, at least not when he was around, but today felt special, as it was an important match. “Perfect.” Akaashi mumbles to himself before stepping away even further and shouting: “Bokuto.san! Look!”
The white-black head shoots up in an instant at the loud mention of his name and he looks around confused for a moment before his eyes find yours and you see a spark going off in his eyes, even from the distance between you. He jumps up in no time once he sees what you’re wearing and suddenly he’s bouncing around the coach, begging him to end the break because “My baby is here!! Coach do you see them?? I need to show them my best!! The yeven wear my jersey, coach!”
As soon as he gets on field he makes a point and then points at you. You laugh as his energy restores itself immediately after seeing you and let me tell you, when the match is over no one can hold him back from tackling you down and embracing you with the biggest, tightest and cuddliest hug you’ve ever gotten. Yes, your presence at games motivates him. But Akaashi suggests than from now on you should also wear the jersey, because there was something else in his game after he saw you wearing it.
In the end, you’ll find yourself wearing the jersey basically all the time you see Bokuto, because he asks you to and it gives him the biggest, happiest smile you’ve ever seen on him :))
Nishinoya Yuu:
Tumblr media
You yawned once again as you checked the time on your phone, rolling your eyes after seeing how early exactly it was. Definitely not your time of the day. Especially not on a saturday.
You couldn’t stop a pout from forming on your lips when you got off the train and looked around, having to assert that it was raining a bit. So you sighed in defeat and searching around in the bag you were supposed to bring your boyfriend to practice, because he forgot it. You found his training jacket and declared it good enough to shield you from the rain until you arrived at the gym. Plus, it smelled like him, so you counted that at least one good thing this morning. It was also warmer than you expected.
Still, ittook you longer than usual to arrive at the boy-filled gym. You admired their motivation and enthusiasm this early in the morning, as you were able to hear their energized calls across the entire school campus. You sighed with a smile as you recognized what could only be the eager voice of Nishinoya, doing his all too familiar rolling thunder chant.
Just about some minutes later you arrived in the alley in front of the gym and found coach ukai leaning in the door frame, a cigarette hanging from his mouth and his eyes closed until he heard your figure approaching. It took him exactly one second to realoze the situation and then he turned around to call for Noya, whom arrived in front of you in no time, pushing his unimpressed coach aside.
“Y/N~! You’re finally here! Thanks for brining my stuff! Now come in, I need to show you my new reiceive move, even Tsukishima thinks its cool!” You just nod and get in the warm hall, following his urgent gestures. He doesn’t even seem to notice what you’re wearing as he takes his bag from your bags. At least not until Hinata points it out.
“Noya-san! Your girlfriend/boyfriend is wearing youir jacket! That is so cooool!” he says with big eyes and immediately pays for it as he misses a ball and takes it right to the head.
Nishinoya looks up in question into Hinata’s direction, as though his brain was recreating what the younger boy just said to him. Then his gaze slowly moves torwards you and his eyes wander down to where his black training jacket still hung from your shoulders, now a bit wet from the rain.
Kiyoko was by your side in no time as you watched Noya’s whole embrace glow at your sight, the realization in his eyes growing bigger and bigger as his hands formed excited fists next to his happy face. “The jacket is kinda wet, Y/N. If you could take it off I’ll hang it somewhere and-”
“NO!” Nishinoya is at your side so fast you barely noticed how he moved, now putting his arms on your shoulders in a protective manner, already turning your body away from a very confused Kiyoko. “No, no, thank you Kiyoko, but they’re totally fine, we’re all good. It will have dried in no time! Especially with our bodies radiating so much heat.” And with those words he steps closer to you and embraces you in his warm arms, nuzzling his face into the fabric of his own jacket. “I’ve always been a fan of our uniform, but this kinda just makes it a hundred times better.” You can hear him mumbling and smile, as you press him even closer to you.
He asks you to stay and he definitely slays these new moves he just leanred simply because you’re there, looking all adorable in his training jacket. Please do not even think about taking it off, because Noya will not stop bragging to the rest of the boys, from now on until forever.
Oikawa Tooru:
Tumblr media
It was normal that Tooru was usually a bit late to dates and other kinds of meetups. He was always quick to forget the world around him when he was at practice, so you were used to waiting for him. In the beginning of your relationship it got you frustrated quickly, but now you got used to it, because normally Oikawa made up for it with a lot of cuddles and great food.
But today was unusual. Tooru was always on time when you met up at his place after school or practice. Of course you showed up earlier and decided tro wait on the front porch so you could surprise and greet him when he would arrive. But his mother was quick to notice you sitting on the steps and welcomed you in and you found the way into his room on your own.
More minutes passed and you found yourself bored, but especially wondering where he was. You were about to text him another message when you saw that he had just read the messages and sent you a quick emoji to tell you he was on his way. You smiled, knowing that it would now take him at least another 20 minutes before he would show up because he now felt bad and got something at the grocery store for you.
So you got up again and looked around the all too familiar room, eventually ending up in front of his wardrobe and rummaging through it. A warm piece of clothing then fell in your hands almost naturally and you smiled down on it, not hesitating a single second to put it on.
Oikawa eventualy showed up a bit earlier than you expected him and you turned around in surprise not too long after as he rips open the door and practically collapses into your arms. “I’m so sorry Y/N I was already on the way when you texted me and-” He inhales and then stops abruptly, leaning back with a questioning look on his face. Realization hits him just a second laterand all the exhaustion leaves his face in the matter of a second and is replaced with a smug smile, though you can see the softness in his eyes. “Did you miss me this much, Y/N? You know, next time just visit me right at practice in the gym hall, wearing exactly this, and I’ll never be late to anything ever again.”
And he really isn’t. Instead, the rest of his team just groans displeased when you show up at practice because they know he will never shut up about it
Terushima Yuuji:
Tumblr media
Going to games with the rest of the team and accompanying them to cheer them on was one of your most favorite things in the world, especially since you were in a relationship with Terushima. The boys always were so energized and eager to play, you wouldn’t wanna miss a single day.
But today was different. Some of the team members got sick on the bus ride to the game and now the energy of the team was a complete different one. You could just press yourself tighter against your boyfriend as the libero of the team got a bit green in the face and seemed to loose control over his gag reflex as he covered his face with a bag. That’s the least he could do, you think, but you can’t hold back from being disgusted either way. You were just hoping that whatever was getting around didn’t stick on you or Terushima, let alone enough members that they couldn’t play today.
However, something had to happen. Right before they arrived the bus took a sharp curve and the bag the person next to you in the bus was holding, wavered dangerously and you didn’t have enough time to get out of the way before its content spilled all over your jacket and you couldn’t help but cry out loud as your boyfriend started to laugh.
Misaki, the team’s manager, scolded him for it as you were busy complaining. She made him pay for his lack of empathy by handing you his bag with clothes for you to change as soon as you arrived. You took it with a dark look into his direction and took the first shirt that fell into your hands - his jersey.
When you found the group of yellow jackets again, no one seemed to take notice of you at first. Until Yuuji showed up next to you with the fattest smile on his face. “Almost mistook you for Misaki. Now you’re a real part of the team, Y/N!” Suddenly he starts jumping around all excited, pointing at you while calling all the others and sharing the news.
Anyways, for the rest of the day he will NOT stop staring at you. Can’t go 5 minutes on the field without his eyes wandering over to you, resulting in the team losing some points. At the same time, he feels better than ever to win this match and to be honest, their opponent has a hard time trying to catch all the balls flying their way.

i loved your ballerina hcs, and i was wondering if you’d do a figure skating s/o with the same boys đŸ‘‰đŸ»đŸ‘ˆđŸ»
figure skating girlfriend w/ suna, lev, and akaashi
a/n: i did two ballerina hcs, so i wasn’t sure which boys you wanted so i did the boys from the latest ballerina hcs i posted (also i don’t know jack shit about figure skating so bear with me fdjaf)
Tumblr media
— s. rintarou
i could honestly see him begging to pick out your music for your free skate
it would either range from his favorite obscure “underground” pop-indie band that isn’t really fit for figure skating to anime openings
he deadass made a whole playlist full of songs you would never skate to
he doesn’t know the differences between the different jumps besides the axel (and honestly neither can i lmao)
like whenever you would talk to him about how you keep messing up your jump combo, he’ll just nod like he understands lmao
“yeah, i have to go from an axel, double toe loop, to a double salchow.” (idk if this is accurate i’m talking out of my ass rn)
suna: i like your funny words magic man 😀
he sometimes stops by during your practice, but only if you’re at a public skating rink where he could watch you from the sidelines
he would come by often especially since your rehearsal lasts longer than his volleyball practices to the point that your coach and your other figure skating friends were familiar with your boyfriend
granted, suna did show his playlist to your coach and you’ve never been more embarrassed
when you and suna first started dating, your first date was actually at a skating rink
it was actually his choice to go just so he could somehow manage to impress you with his mediocre skating skills to which were not that bad
you even started teaching him basic figure skating moves
mans can do a killer besti squat and says he’s “channeling his inner yuzuru hanyu”
will definitely be the loudest guy cheering for you there
— h. lev
he would definitely binge watch all your competition performances cause he’s such a big fan of you
whenever you get your new competition dress, just know lev would be one of the first ones to see you try it on
he would ask for you to try it on for him and gush about how pretty you look, especially once you’re on the ice
he’s definitely one those guys who watch the olympics and criticize how a competitor under rotated a double salchow or something despite barely being able to skate himself
but it’s mostly just to tease you since he mainly watches it with you
he often jokes how he should start figure skating just so you and him can become a team (this is honestly just his excuse to throw your ass around lmao)
you’re literally his biggest flex
he loves talking about his cool figure skating gf and often embellishes the truth that you’re going to be part of the next winter olympics
“what?” lev exclaims, “you can’t do backflips during competitions? that’s lame.”
he thinks the point criteria is kinda messed up as well, but then again, what does he know
i can totally see him holding up two cameras to film you during your free skate just so he doesn’t miss anything
he’d probably sit away from your family just to get two different angles lmao
the next time you two went on an ice skating date, he asked you to teach him the different jumps
he’s decent at a beginner toe loop, but almost crashed into a group of middle schoolers when he attempted a lutz
lev would never miss a competition of yours even if he has his own game, he’ll come late either way
— a. keiji
he’s your #1 supplier of kt tape
he’s also your #1 hypeman (bokuto is a really close second)
akaashi doesn’t know a lot about figure skating but he does know how amazing you are at your sport
he tries his best to understand the basic rundown of everything, especially since you tend to overthink a lot of your routines and competition scores so knowing at least the basic rules and point system could help him calm you down or at least comfort you
“so what if you fell? what matters is that you got up immediately and continued.”
will probably buy you ice cream to help you cheer up as well
akaashi always picks you up from practice as it becomes routine to go to the convenient store to get snacks before going to his house to do your homework together
it makes up for lost time since your schedules often get busy especially yours since the volleyball season only lasts a few months while figure skating is year round
he’s always making sure you’re ok whenever he picks you up from practice since he knows how strenuous skating is on your body
he’s also your #1 masseuse lmao
idk i feel he just likes spoiling you
will bring you the biggest bouquet of your favorite flowers after every competition

‷ Hi, dear!~ I’m so in love with your Inarizaki writing! Thank you really. This’s too soft~ Can I ask headcanons about Inarizaki in the training camp with their manager?
synopsis: being inarizaki’s manager HC
pairing: inarizaki & fem!reader
warnings: none
+ i’m so happy you love them!! only the best for my boys and lil anons <3333 i’m reposting this because tumblr hates me <3
Tumblr media
since it was almost match season, you had decided to ask the managers of some other teams to have a training camp for a few days!
it included karasuno, fukurodani, nekoma and of course inarizaki!
after the schools had agreed to a date and schedule, you gathered the team and told them the plan.
they were pretty excited! especially aran and atsumu since they both would see their friendly rivals.
osamu didn’t have any different feelings, he only hoped for some good food. akaashi and osamu would be besties change my mind
akagi was very excited to play with the top libero’s like yaku, komi and noya!
it was safe to say everyone was looking forward to it.
and so, a week later the team stepped out of the bus in front of fukurodani academy where the training camp would take place.
the managers lead all of you around and told you where you could put your stuff down.
and after that, practice could finally start!
to say that atsumu was fired up was an understatement. i mean, he was going against a setter who was on top of the technical parts of setting, a setter who knew exactly what to do with minimal movements and a setter who knew his teams strengths and how to bring out the one hundred percentage out.
atsumu felt like he was on top of the world and he was thriving.
aran had a friendly banter with bokuto, forcing a smile on your face whenever you were in their presence.
you saw akagi talk with noya, yaku and komi, a hand on his hip as he laughed at something noya said.
you felt all fuzzy inside seeing your team interact with the others )^o^(
inarizaki won majority of the matches they played, the real challenge however being fukurƍdani.
bokuto had this tiny blush on his face as he went against someone equally strong, a bright smile on his face as he did what he always did: get some points for the team.
akaashi had this lil smirk on his face when he baited atsumu with a dump, staring at the blonde male who had a pout on his face.
“eh, akaashi. you’re pretty good, aren’t ya?”
akaashi was about to respond if it wasn’t for bokuto suddenly entering the conversation and slinging an arm around his setter.
“akaashi’s the best, isn’t he?” his eyes were closed and his pearly teeth were on display, teasing his best friend who tried to play it down.
inside atsumu’s head while staring at the energetic ace: yeah, i’ll play with him sometime
after practice had ended, they showered, changed in to something comfortable and had some dinner all together!
oh how much i wish that this was real
akaashi, kenma and osamu sat at a table together, talking about all the different onigiri’s they wanted to try and make, except for kenma, he stayed silent and just played his lil game.
“akaashi, we should really meet up sometime and try a few out.”
kageyama and atsumu sat opposite to them and talked about some stupid shit. it was mostly atsumu talking and kageyama nodding with a tiny blush covering his cheeks. please tell me you guys have seen that atsumu and kageyama official art of them in the youth training camp
“tobio-kun, we should play a bit after dinner! i just know that we’d be a good team together.”
at another table were bokuto, aran, hinata, yamaguchi and lev. they were honestly just talking about volleyball and food, nothing else.
hinata, yamaguchi and lev just watched the two aces talk with wide eyes and brag a little bit, bokuto doing the latter a tad more than our sweet aran who just watched with a tiny smile and that lil sparkle in his eyes.
“if you guys wanna be an ace like aran and me, then you should definitely always cheer us on and ask us things you want some more insight on!”
bokuto my lil babie
kuroo, washio, suna, omimi and tsukishima were minding their own business, all smiling a bit while talking about some stupid shit. yes, even tsukki cracked a tiny smile.
“so that’s the story on how i made this one love volleyball!” kuroo smacked tsukishima’s back, forcing an ‘oof’ from the latter before mumbling a quiet ‘hai’, no energy left to go against the stubborn third year.
“yikes, that’s pretty lame.”
not the glare tsukki gave suna
daichi, ennoshita, konoha and kita were just talking about the hard life of being in a team that’s just pure chaos </3
“yeah, the twins aren’t exactly sane either. osamu may look like the sane one, but he’s just as bad. fightin’ and playin’ around all the time with atsumu.” daichi nodded, understanding exactly what he meant. “hinata and kageyama are like that too.” konoha just sighed, a hand on his hip as he shook his head. “we just have a giant baby who needs lots of reassurance all the time.”
and last but not least, our libero’s and their lil chaotic squad!
this one exists out of komi, akagi, yaku, noya, tanaka and suga. its just all chaos with probably just komi and akagi being the sane ones.
“hey, we should definitely meet up sometime and just hang out together!”
you on the other hand kept moving from table to table, receiving a little wave from atsumu when you passed their table, a smile from akaashi, a wink from bokuto with a bright smile from hinata and a loose side hug from kita who bragged a little about you.
“_____, she’s pretty amazin’, ain’t she?” you felt your cheeks warm up a little, giving the sign to get out of here with the sweet excuse of hearing your name get called by yukie.
kita has a lil soft spot for you in my manager head canons because i love him <3
and the next two days went like this one, only a few tables would change and the noise only became louder since everyone had become better friends!
so, mission succes! ^ - ^
+
bokuto had asked you a little favour of accompanying him and a few others in a late night practice, to which you obviously couldn’t say no to when he stared at you with those big golden eyes.
so, you sat on the ground and watched the ball go over the net repeatedly, the squeaks of their shoes on the gym floor echoing through the gym.
team one existed out of atsumu, akaashi, kageyama, hinata, noya and suna. while team two existed out of kuroo, konoha, tsukishima, osamu, bokuto and aran.
atsumu insisted on being with all the setters while bokuto really wanted to play with aran, thus, the teams ended up like this.
you watched with sharp, yet sleepy eyes the guys go intensely against each other. they truly were not holding back even a little bit.
“tobio-kun!” atsumu set the ball for kageyama who watched with big blue eyes the ball rotate in the air. he ran up and hit the ball with sparkling eyes and lips that were curved up into a smile.
konoha dived for the ball and brought it up, only for the ball to go in to the bleachers instead of staying on the court. he stood up, letting out a sigh as the sweat dripped down his face.
“you don’t even know how happy i am that you two aren’t in a team together.” kuroo reached for a water bottle and nodded, speaking after taking a big gulp, “i second that.”
“atsumu-san, your tosses are so easy to hit!” hinata stared at the setter like he put the stars in the sky, mouth wide open as the setter chuckled. “of course, sho-kun! only the best for my spikers,” he said with a grin on his face.
“these teammates of yours are pretty good, aran,” bokuto said, the rasp even more evident in his voice as he raised his head towards the ceiling with his eyes closed.
“could say the same ‘bout you, that setter of yours is somethin’ else.”
bokuto looked down and tilted his head, chuckling as his tooth smile made an appearance. “like i always say, akaashi’s the best!”
suna dropped down on the floor, waving his hand as a signal of stepping out. “i’m done, it’s over for me.”
and just like that, you heard all voices agree, tired smiles on their faces as they started cleaning out the gym.

reminiscing ;; akaashi keiji
ship: akaashi x gn!reader
wc: 1.5k
warnings: ANGST ANGST ANGST . that it that’s the warning.
summary: there’s a saying that goes, “some people are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.” Akaashi knew you should’ve only been around for a season, but he found himself hoping you’d be around for a lifetime.
a/n: imma say it rn ..... im sorry im sorry this one made me so sad ... i really hope u guys like it!! its my first real oneshot that I actually put effort into, so if you guys have any tips or criticisms i am all ears!! pls enjoy <3
~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~ + ~
“I think we should break up.”
Akaashi refused to look up at you as he had spoken the very words he had been dreading and you had been expecting. Both of you knew from the get go that your time together was going to be short considering your paths for the future didn’t really align. Even so, you decided to spend as much time together as possible before going your separate ways. Before you knew it, two years went by in a flash -- graduation had passed and your time together was almost up. Even though you had expected those words to fall from his lips, hearing them didn’t hurt any less.
Those few seconds of silence felt like hours as he waited to hear your response. He used that time to glance up at you from his spot on his bed. In addition to the quiet tears that fell from your eyes, he was shocked to see a small smile tugging at your lips. You lifted your eyes from the ground to look at him.
“Well, we had a good run didn’t we, Keiji?” All the emotions Akaashi had been stifling came out in that moment as deafening sobs that radiated throughout his chest. You moved to sit next to him on his bed as the two of you sobbed in each others arms. That night, you had fallen asleep comfortably in his bed for the last time, not wanting the morning to come because you knew that the moment the morning light shines through his window you would have to say your final goodbyes.
----------
Years have passed since that day, but not a single day has gone by where Akaashi hasn’t thought of you. He tried his best to move on and live his life, but he just couldn’t help it; he saw you in everything. Sometimes he’d hear your favorite song on the radio, or he’d pass by a store window and see something he just knows you’d love. Hell, he even thought about you at work, a tiny sliver of him hoping that you’d come crashing in asking how much longer before he finishes his assignments. He doesn’t necessarily regret breaking up with you; he knows that was best for both of you in order to truly reach your fullest potentials. But still..... a part of him wondered what life might’ve been like if he had been just a little more selfish that day.
The sound of a buzzer had brought him back to reality. Down below he saw his best friend Bokuto screaming and running around with his teammates.
They must’ve won he thought. He picks himself up out of the seat, walks down the bleachers, and moves towards the area surrounding the changing rooms to wait for his friend when he stops dead in his tracks. There’s no way right? You had gone abroad for school.... why were you here? Why were you here right now? As the shock wears off he realizes that it most definitely is you by the way the butterflies in his stomach begin to flutter.
He remains motionless while tracking your movements, afraid that if he were to move you would disappear like the countless other times he had seen you in his dreams. You looked absolutely radiant; just as beautiful as before of course, but there was something about you that was different this time that he couldn’t quite place. With light feet and slow steps he made his way towards you until you had started making steps of your own in a different direction. Akaashi stopped and waited. You had that oh so beautiful smile on your face that brought redness to his cheeks in an instant. His mind was flooded with all the different memories where he had been the one to put that smile on your face, but the one he remembers most clearly was smile you gave him the day he confessed:
“’Kaashi, ‘kaashi, look! I actually passed!” You ran up to him excitedly holding your English test in your hands trying to catch him before he walked into the gym for practice.
“I told you you could do it,” he said nonchalantly, despite the evident blush painting his features.
“But I didn’t think I could and now here I am! And its all thanks to you! Now we just HAVE to celebrate!” You continued to ramble on about what you could do to commemorate your surprising achievement when Akaashi finally had enough and put both of his hands on your shoulders, making you stop mid sentence with wide eyes.
“I’ll take you on a date to celebrate. How does that sound?” At first, Akaashi had said it just to get you to stop talking so he could go to practice. It had just fallen out of his mouth and now here he was with both of his hands on your shoulders, having just accidentally confessed AND asked you out. He immediately took his hands off and looked away in embarrassment with extreme heat rising in his cheeks.
“Uhh only if you want to I mean it was only a suggestion if you don’t want to that’s totally fine I wouldn’t want to ruin our friendship--” You gently grabbed his hand cutting off his adorable rant causing him to look up at you. Immediately his heart softened as he saw your wide smile.
“I would love that ....... Keji.”
Snapping himself out of his brief daydream, he continued to watch you fondly as your smile grew bigger and your steps much quicker. His heart sank when he came to the realization that those memories he cherished were just that -- only memories. Your brilliant smile and excited steps weren’t because of him this time. All those days you ran to him with that captivating expression of yours on your face -- they were all just distant memories. This time you were running up to Atsumu Miya, congratulating him on the win and saying how glad you were to finally see him play in person.
Akaashi felt like such a fool; of course you had moved on. You were amazing in every sense of the word it was only natural for someone else to see that too and act on it.
He watched as you gave Atsumu those tight hugs you used to give him on a bad day. He watched as you kissed Atsumu on the cheek like you used to when he would drop you off on your porch after a date. He watched as you gave Atsumu that same radiant smile you gave him the day he confessed. Hand in hand, you and Atsumu began walking towards the exit of the gym chatting light heartedly, completely and blissfully unaware of the shattering of Akaashi’s heart.
The tears he had been holding back began welling up in his eyes as you finally glanced over in his direction. Mild shock overcame your features for just a moment and then it softened into a subtly melancholic expression. You certainly weren’t expecting to see him here and you were sure he wasn’t expecting to see you given the subtle facial expressions he had that you knew like the back of your hand. Akaashi stared back at you, trying his best to remain stoic only giving you a small wave. Of course, just like he knew you would and just like he was dreading, you gave him a smile. However, it wasn’t anything like the ones you would give him before. This one was small and weak; almost apologetic. Akaashi watched as you turned away continuing your lively chat with Atsumu like nothing had happened. He watched your figure disappear once again, but this time he knew it was really for good. He finally let the tears fall from his eyes and released the breath he didn’t even know he was holding as Bokuto walked out as energetic as always.
Akaashi quickly composed himself and congratulated Bokuto on the win. When Bokuto questioned his friend’s slightly red eyes and wet cheeks, Akaashi dismissed his concerns by saying something about allergies and quickly changed the subject to their plans after the game in order to keep Bokuto distracted from the pain that was evident his face.
After finalizing their plans, the two said their goodbyes and split up to find their cars. For once in his life, Akaashi’s mind was completely empty. He wasn’t thinking of you or anyone or anything else; just taking in the information his eyes were seeing and mechanically moving in the direction of his car. Finally reaching his destination, he paused his actions with his hand on the car handle and looked up to the sky. Letting his tears flow freely, he smiled
“We really did have a good run, didn’t we y/n?”

Bokuto Confession hcs!
Tumblr media
àż character: Bokuto Koutarou
àż genre: fluff, soft, confessions!
àż requested by: GreenTheSimp on Ao3!
àż imagine/scenario: “some Bokuto headcannons on how he asks Khai out? Plus maybe him being a goof towards his s/o.”
A/N: fyi, most of these will be coming from my Ao3 since I started writing there first! it’s not much and i generally don’t proof read these so im sorry if there are small errors, this one is a bit longer since I made two chapters for it. im so bad at writing istg,,
Tumblr media
≫ ──── â‰Ș Confession Time ≫ ──── â‰Ș
❀ First, Bokuto would be oblivious to his crush and his feelings for you till it was brought up multiple times by his team, and eventually at the volleyball camp from the other schools. Most likely Kuroo nagging him about the certain someone, Khai, Bokuto talks about so much.
❀ You and Bokuto were friends for quite some time, maybe at least a year or so. And being in the same class as him, you guys had time to interact with each other and even plan hangouts whenever you could.
❀ And yes, this man talks 24/7 about you without even noticing- this varies from your interactions during the school day, your conversations during classes and lunch, stupid dumb texts you guys have once in a while, the answers you give him from the many of many questions he asked you... the list goes on and on. This makes it easy for his friends to identify his fucking crush on you. him being so oblivious about it hurts their brains istg
❀ He's extremely bubbly around you, super friendly and kind but you usually brush it off as his normal personality. ibetyou'llbeoblivioustooaboutit.
❀ Once Bokuto awakened to his crush and feelings for you he found it extremely difficult to act like it was normal before. The slight blush on his cheeks was a much solid shade. His heart skipping beats every time he saw you walk in the room. Your laugh, your smile, anything about you made him so nervous around you now. When you directly smile at him, hearing your laughs at his jokes or actions will make this man just seize to exist.
❀ Bokuto can't stop thinking about you after that thought, always finding his mind wandering to the dorkiest, sappy shit thing he would do with you.
❀ Sometimes he found himself avoiding you at some points just so he can keep himself in check and not be an embarrassment around you-
❀ He still craves your attention but he gets a lingering fear he might mess something up so he has an internal fight with himself and it just- hurts him sm- poor owl,,
❀ Akaashi finds himself trying to motivate and support emo Bokuto at these moments, usually through texts or calls when they aren't near each other etc.
❀ You would generally think he would just confess to you as soon as he had the chance but actually took this on a slow thoughtful ride. To the point, it did affect his skill at practice, which notified his teammates about it fairly quickly. Bokuto was so deep in thought about it all he was unsure how to process his confession, when, where, what would make you happy, if you liked him back and such.
❀ This eventually leads to him asking Akaashi, the team, and friends (from the other teams' ofc-), on how he should confess to you. All of the answers didn't seem to fit Bokuto in a comfortable way either, which is hella surprising. Before he decided to do something pretty simple.
❀ Earlier today, Bokuto asked you to wait for him a few minutes after class. Knowing you two had different club activities after school, him having volleyball and you have [Khai's favorite activity]. It was the best option to get your attention since your clubs ended at different times made it difficult. And so you did, meeting him outside of your classroom, just you and him.
❀ Bokuto felt anxious about being alone with you, especially like this.
❀ "Hey, Khai..?"
❀ "What is it, Bo?"
❀ That little nickname you gave him, always and I mean always made his heart skip 10 beats. The blush on his cheeks grew a shade darker.
❀ "Wanna walk home.. t-together...?" Bokuto quickly mustered out the words, knowing his throat would dry up sooner or later.
❀ Both of you actually took a similar route home after school, which you guys figured out on a rainy day.
❀ "Oh, sure! Don't you have practice though?" You tilted your head innocently, your hair moving as well revealing the smallest of details that made Bokuto swoon.
❀ "Coach said we should rest for our game tomorrow"
❀ "Ah- that makes sense, I forgot about that-" You giggled lightly before you took the lead of heading out of the building.
❀ Bokuto froze at your giggle before you dragged him behind you. Your hand softly around his wrist. "C'mon slowpoke," you teased.
❀ He smiled slightly before he caught up to you. Walking aside from you at the same pace.
❀ It was an awkward walk. Bokuto was oddly quiet which made you slightly worried.
❀ "Bokuto? You alright..?" You finally broke the silence, looking up at the Ace to your right.
❀ "P-perfectly fine!"
❀ "You stuttered."
❀ "Did... I..?"
❀ "Yes, dummy- What's wrong?"
❀ "I-... Damn it. Khai."
❀ Before you knew it, he pulled you into a kiss. His large hands cupping your face as he planted his lips softly onto yours, pulling away from a little with only a few inches from your lips. Bokuto looked straight into your brown eyes, staring back with his golden eyes. The blush on his cheeks flushed with shades of red.
❀ "I like you. Wait- No.. I love you." Bokuto muttered softly, feeling his breath on your lips made you shiver.
❀ You just giggled, before it grew into genuine laughter. He widened his eyes removing his hands from your face.
❀ "H-hey..!! What's so funny!?"
❀ "It was so obvious Bo~"
❀ "Was.. was it!? I-"
❀ You cut him off, "I love you too Koutarou."
❀ Him hearing you use his first name WITH you saying ily to him, made his day. A bright smile plastered on his face, he hugged you lifting you up and kissing your face all over.
❀ "HEY HEY HEYYYY!! Khai likes me back!! Actually, Khai LOVES me!" Bokuto exclaimed happily
❀ After that, Bokuto was back to his normal, loud, excited self throughout the walk. You guys began to have your simple conversations again, him poking you with questions trying to get to know you even more. Having the lingering doubt he had from rejection and negativity was lifted-off from him. He even mentioned having your first date so soon-
❀ He couldn't wait to bring the news to his team and friends.
❀ He can't wait to see you by his side every day.
≫ ──── â‰Ș Confession Aftermath ≫ ──── â‰Ș
❀ After the confession, Bokuto would rarely ever leave your side. So he does get clingy to you as he does with Akaashi. He's not much for PDA but he's also not against the thought, he unconsciously hugs you, wrapping his arms around your torso, waist, arms, and sometimes around your neck at least- Sometimes light kisses and pecks but those are generally rare unless he's really excited about something.
❀ He gets really flustered sometimes when you addressed him as your boyfriend the first few days and maybe weeks after starting the relationship. He's just not used to it- It gives this hunk of a man butterflies in his stomach a lot.
❀ Whenever you guys had to leave each other for your designated classes, you tend to find cute notes in your locker whenever you open them. Having cute phrases, flirts, compliments, and silly pick-up lines. You already knew it was from Bokuto because you... sometimes catch him lurking around your locker- just never brought up to him knowing it would genuinely make him sad.
❀ Bokuto just finds it cool that you don't know at first okay-
❀ You always tried to go to his practices and even games when you guys were just friends. Knowing that if Bokuto saw any of his friends out in the stands made his confidence skyrocket so much-
❀ But since you guys are now in a relationship, it makes Bokuto smile so much every time he spots you in the stands of the crowds. Cheering him on boosts his confidence so fucking much- like if this man is in emo mode please cheer for him, it helps a ton (Akaashi and the team might thank you also-)
❀ Long-lasting phone calls that continue till like 3-4 am. Sometimes facetime/video calls if you both have the ability to! He loves seeing your face, he finds it so fucking adorable with all your smallest features and details.
❀ Bokuto probably changed your contact name on his phone to something like "baby owl" with like emojis or something- or literally, just nick (pet) names he has for you- "baby, bae, cloud, cutie, feather, angel, king/queen, prince/princess" and so on. He looooves having names for you because it makes him smile every time he finds things that remind him of you (which generally is how he figures some of them out-)
❀ Whenever this man finds you sad, upset, stressed, or literally in any negative emotion. He will try his damn hardest to make you feel better even if its the slightest, and if it is the slightest he'll keep going to you are perfectly fine and dandy.
❀ He'll even go out of his way to skip practice if needed to comfort your sad butt- He'll give you cuddles, so many cuddles. He's practically a cuddle monster so better prepare for how long you'll stay in his arms afterward-
❀ Whenever you guys are just cuddling in general, he loves to nuzzle his face into your hair, your neck, and shoulder. Just craving the touch and comfort of his lover. Even if it's the slightest of motion, he'll take whatever he can get!
❀ Continuing on the cuddling situation, one of the secret things he loves about you is how you smell. The shampoo you use for your hair, the body wash, perfume or cologne.
❀ Since it's fall season (as of I'm writing this ofc-), Bokuto will drag you around for some walks in the cool weather through parks. Honestly hoping to find leaves to pile and fall into with you! I'd think one of Bo's love language would be quality time (and words of affirmation.) So hanging out with him makes this owl the happiest man to walk on this planet.
❀ Whenever you are cold on these walks, he won't hesitate to wrap his arms around you. If it's a specific part of your body that is cold, for example, your hands. He'll definitely hold his hands over yours. Maybe planting a kiss on them afterward (accidentally getting flustered seconds later-)
❀ Bokuto might also just stare at your hands clasped together, noticing the size difference for the 100000000000000th time
❀ Honestly, he likes to use Instagram and Snapchat filters with you. It's really cute af,, he's such a dork for couple things
❀ Body issues? Bokuto will love every part of you no matter what, comforting that every part of your body is perfect as it is. He'll softly plant kisses wherever you feel insecure. He'll cuddle you till you agree with him that you are a perfect human being.
❀ Don't try to sneak out of it. He's hella stubborn with topics like these- He ain't that dense and dumb guys,,
A/N: I love me some Bokuto huuuuu

The Apartment: part 1
Tumblr media
pairing: Kuroo Tetsurou x fem! reader
rating/warnings: swearing
synopsis: You knew that living with your three best friends, Kuroo, Oikawa, and Bokuto, would be a wild ride. It’s never a dull moment with those three. Let’s just hope you can keep your huge crush on Kuroo a secret when he is only a room away.
a/n: AHH HIII💓omg im so excited to be writing a new fic!! this fic is gonna be different style than my last one but i hope you guys like it!! honestly, Kuroo, Bokuto, and Oikawa is the trio we all needed but never got. so enjoy my take on it ;) also there will be a new taglist for this fic so just lmk if you would like to be added! as always, requests and asks are open! okay enough from me, enjoy xx
‱
One: Britney Spears poster
“Hey Y/N, can you grab this last box?” asked Bokuto. You nodded, picking up the box labeled ‘kitchen’ from the back of Bokuto’s car. Today was move-in day for your first off-campus apartment. You were beyond excited to start living with your 3 best friends: Bokuto, Kuroo, and Oikawa. From an outside perspective, your friend group would look chaotic and dysfunctional, and it was, but you wouldn’t trade those 3 idiots for anything.
“Okay that’s the last of it,” you said as you carried the box towards the elevator. You rode up with Bokuto and entered your apartment. Brown boxes covered the floor, music blaring from room to room.
“Oikawa turn it down or else we are gonna get a notice on the first damn day!” yelled Kuroo. You laughed as you heard Oikawa shuffle towards the speaker to lower the volume.
“Okay guys, everyone grab the boxes for their rooms so we can start putting shit away,” you ordered. The 3 stooges stood in front of you.
“Yes ma’am,” they called back, giving you a sarcastic salute. You rolled your eyes and grabbed your first box.
Living with your 3 best friends was something you never really thought would happen. You all had joked about it when you were kids but to have it became a reality was another story. You all grew up together so there was no surprise to how close you all were. You may have all gone to different high schools so college seemed like the perfect way to reconnect.
You and Oikawa shared a room while Kuroo and Bokuto shared the other. You and Oikawa had been glued to the hip since birth. You didn’t have many close ‘girl’ friends so Tooru was the next best thing.
“Jeez how many pairs of tiny sunglasses do you have?” you asked, looking down at the arrangement of color coded sunglasses.
“Well Iwachan got me them so I cherish them,” he explained. You laughed and continued to unpack your things.
Hours passed and your room was finally up to your standards. You went for something simple yet still your style. Kuroo and Bokuto had moved on to organizing the living room.
“OIKAWA!” yelled Kuroo. Oikawa jumped, giving you the ‘oh shit I’m screwed’ look.
“How many times do I have to tell you that the Britney Spears poster does NOT belong in the kitchen?” Kuroo clenched Oikawa’s Britney poster, almost to the point of ripping it.
“Oh so now you don’t like Britney but on the whole car ride here you were singing along-“
“OKAY we don’t need to talk about that,” interrupted Kuroo.
“She’s better than your stupid Periodic Table posters...” mumbled Oikawa. You tried to hold back your laughter.
“Hey you take that back! The Periodic Table of seasonings fits perfectly with the kitchen!” barked Kuroo. Oikawa rolled his eyes, snatching the poster from Kuroo’s hands.
“God you are such a nerd,”
“And you are such a tw-”
“DON’T YOU SAY IT!” Oikawa gave Kuroo the death stare. Their playful bickering was your favorite form of entertainment.
“Sorry sorry...twink” Kuroo ran out of the room and Oikawa was now chasing him.
“GOD DAMN IT KUROO!”
You bursted out laughing as you heard a crash on the floor, assuming that Oikawa was now jumping on Kuroo. Bokuto stood at the doorway of your room with a confused look.
“What happened?”
~
The four of you continued to organize your apartment until nightfall. Once everything was put into place, the boys crashed on the couch and turned on the TV.
“Should I pick up a pizza?” You asked.
“Is that even a question?” joked Bokuto.
“One cheese and one meat-lover?”
The boys nodded enthusiastically. You made the phone call and went to sit on the empty loveseat.
“It’s gonna be about 15 minutes,” you explained. The boys gave you a thumbs up.
“Guys we did it, we’re actually living together,” gushed Oikawa.
“Don’t go and get soft on me now Shitty-kawa,” you laughed. Oikawa turned to you and groaned.
“Y/N you ruin everything damn it. I’m trying to be a good, sentimental friend, and you just-“ you interrupt Oikawa by moving to the couch and jumping on him.
“JESUS Y/N I’M FRAGILE!” He complained as you sat on his lap.
“And you wonder why you’re a piece of shit,” you gave him a sarcastic hug. “But seriously, I’m so happy to be living with you morons. We’ve been dreaming about this forever.”
“Yeah, crazy to think we actually did it,” smiled Kuroo.
“I LOVE YOU GUYS!” yelled Bokuto. You laughed.
“Bring it in guys,” you pulled Kuroo and Bokuto towards you and Oikawa for a tight hug.
“Oh so when Bokuto gets sentimental it’s totally fine...”
“Shut up Shitty-kawa and enjoy the hug.”
~
“Who is coming with me to pick up the pizza?” you asked. Oikawa was asleep on the couch and Bokuto was very invested in the episode of ‘Gilmore Girls’ that was playing.
“I’ll go,” said Kuroo.
“Okay come on then. We’re taking your car,” you snagged Kuroo’s car keys off the counter and ran out the door.
“Y/N-chan there is no way I’m letting you drive my car!” you heard him yell from inside the apartment. You quickly pressed the elevator button and jumped inside. Kuroo’s voice trailed off as the elevator moved down to the first floor. You exited the elevator and thought you had gotten away with driving Kuroo’s car.
“Not so fast Y/N-chan!” Kuroo snuck up behind you, picked you up, and tossed you over his shoulder. He took the keys from your hand and carried you towards the car.
“Tetsurou put me down!” you begged. Kuroo set you down in front of the passenger door.
“If you wanted to win you should have taken the stairs. And I’m driving silly,” he smirked. You rolled your eyes before getting in the car.
You and Kuroo drove until arriving at the pizza place. You waited in the car while he went inside to pay. For some reason, you felt nervous about being alone with Kuroo. You’d been alone with him a million times before, so why was this time any different? Of course, it had nothing to do with the grey sweatpants he was wearing. Or the fact that he drives a stick shift car and his veins popped every time he would shift gears. Or because you have had a crush on him since you were 6-years old. No, that had nothing to do with it.
Kuroo came back, opened the car door, and handed you the pizzas to hold onto. You rested them on your lap as the two of you drove back.
“I’m glad we’re are finally living together,” said Kuroo. You looked at him, the butterflies coming back in your stomach. “All of us I mean of course,” he clarified.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be super fun. Hopefully, we all survive,” you joked. Kuroo chuckled.
“It’ll be fine Y/N-chan,” Kuroo smiled, giving you a pat on the head.
~
When the two of you got back to the apartment, Oikawa had woken up.
“We are watching ‘Mean Girls’!” argued Oikawa. He was practically climbing on Bokuto for the remote.
“We watched ‘Mean Girls’ last time! I wanna watch ‘Unsolved Mysteries’!” said Bokuto. You couldn’t help but laugh at them.
“Everytime we watch ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ you end up calling Akaashi because you get scared!”
“Pizzas here,” you announced. All fighting ceased the minute you said those magic words. You grabbed some paper plates and napkins and watched as each of the boys piled pizza onto their plates. You grabbed yourself two pieces of cheese pizza and went to sit on the loveseat. Kuroo sat next to you while Bokuto and Oikawa sat on the couch.
“I’m picking what we watch,” said Kuroo. He turned on a volleyball game and of course, there were no complaints.
After stuffing all your bellies with pizza, the four of you decided to head to bed. You said goodnight to Bokuto and Kuroo and were now nestled in your bed. Oikawa laid on his bed.
“How was picking up the pizza with Kuroo?” asked Oikawa. You rolled your eyes.
“It was good,” you muttered. Oikawa laughed.
“Still not over that crush yet are you?” he teased. You groaned. Oikawa was the only one who knew about your crush on Kuroo. You let it slip during one of your all-night sleepovers you two would have when you were kids.
“So what if I’m not, it doesn’t matter anyway.”
“You know that if you had just told him during high school, you two could be dating by now.”
You sighed.
“I don’t know. I don’t wanna ruin our friendship and he probably doesn’t even like me. I see no good outcome of him knowing,” you explained.
“You’ll never know unless you tell him.” As much as you hated to admit it, Oikawa was right. There was always the 1% chance that Kuroo would like you back. But, the friendship you two had didn’t seem worth risking. You just hoped that living together wouldn’t stir your feelings out of proportion.

Paper love.
warnings: utter and absolute tooth rotting fluff crack.
pairings: Bokuto x Akaashi.
a/n: here to bless you with soft bokuaka <3 AKAASHI HAD HIS HANDS ON HIS THIGHS JSOIWDEDW BYE
summary: if asked "how did you both meet?" it was simple for them to smile and say "i left my notes in a library and he left a note for me." that's all.
word count: 3.3k
Late afternoon of autumn season. a weather just as the liking of the ravenette who shuffled through the busy streets of the Tokyo with a fixed motto to reach the city library before the dusk paints the already orange yellow tinted sky. his gunmetal eyes landing on every moving figure, every breathing soul, every sign board all through the way till they bored holes into the brown, heavy gates of the library.
a breathy sigh left escaped past his lips at the contact with the antique handles stuck on the wooden doors as he pushed open the doors. thick cool gust of heavy temperature air conditioner fell over his, leaving his tousled hair to fall over his winter evening eyes.
pushing his hair back, slender, calloused fingers carding through the hair as he squinted taking a while to adjust to the dimness of the library which he was not acquainted with after being under the blood- orange sun.
two receptionist sat there behind a huge table, a glass wall over the table that reached the ceiling. to the opposite was huge tables, all dark brown with lit candles and lanterns in the middle of them, were standing on all fours side to side with equal distance. the shelves behind the tables. books and books, sea of books were stacked in a proper order. step stools randomly near every shelves. people balancing themselves on those stools to reach the destined choice of books. level two of the library was just the same, a curvy staircase going from either side of the receptionist table.
the blue and ocher yellow tinted windows all over the huge huge walls allowed the drowning sunlight let into the dim place. walls, painted in a pleasing aesthetic colors, paintings of ancient wars and other artefacts from different places hanging around them with their circa and details.
a perfect place for his anthropology studies.
walking towards the reception table he took the pen that rested between the crease of the entry book which already had listed numerous numbers of visitors.
'#762 Akaashi Keiji.'
padding his way towards a table of his liking, a table just beside the window with tinted shades on the upper level of the library. sitting down he allowed all his required material to spill out from his bag on the table. his journal, pointers already jotted down before hand, different loose sheets from his classes stacked under the journal, written in his pristine sharp writing. books open in front of him allowing him to soak in all the words of knowledge while he took notes and pointers in a fresh page. writing staying constant and neat even with the speed of writing them down.
slowly the minutes slipped into hours and he didn't realize when the already drowning sun had been reigned over by the full moon and stars hanging all around it.
sighing he looked at the analog watch wrapped around his lean wrist.
08:47 pm
picking up all his material he bolted out from the library, not before bowing slightly in front of the already leaving receptionist who returned his gratitude with a humble smile.
--
walk to the college next day was as monotonous as ever. reaching the class felt like slow drags of tired legs but alas, it all about the attendance. a must. ought to be done.
god, he hates it. but it can't be helped.
settling in his seat on the front row of the class he sipped on his warm coffee. the warmth seeping down his throat and heat blooming into the pits of stomach. a tired sigh left his throat.
all the chatters from the students nearby him felt distant as he closed his eyes to take in the reality and prepare mentally for all the upcoming long and slow classes.
"hey, Akaashi." a low voice, a little hesitant, came up from behind him making him open his eyes to turn around and face the owner of the voice. a blond, lean man stood in front of me.
'god, his eye bags can hold water without a miss...'
the male looked in distress.
"what is it?" the ravenette cringed internally at how deep his voice came out and how much sleep was still mixed with it.
"do you, perhaps, have the sub- headings for Human Evolution? i can't really figure them out.." his words turned into a whisper to himself by the end of the sentence. his hands scratching nape in anxiety and his eyes boring holes into everything and everyone but akaashi.
after a silence of fraction of seconds akaashi nodded reaching out to his bag as he felt the gloomy aura tune into a flowery pink aura of gratitude for the helping male.
a life saver, indeed.
for a second, Akaashi thought he had his life in control, his homework and notes on him but to his dismay it wasn't.
what a fucking joke.
disappointed with the lemons life kept giving him he retracted back his hands and rested it on his thighs as he turned back to face the confused male.
"uhh Akinori- san? looks like i have left it in the library i visited yesterday." he apologized telling the blond that he would click the picture of the lone sheet and send it to the male.
--
the whole day continued in a constant restlessness. he left an important somewhere in a public place. questions flooded his brain to the brim and no one could answer them but him.
no way in the living hell he is ready to make those sub- headings again. he felt like he would loose his last straw of humanity and sanity if he didn't find the page.
cursing internally he ran like a mad dog was let loose after him, ready to pounce and tear him apart. skidding slightly he stopped at the library entry. a chill went down his spine as he opened the door, dread settling in the pits of his stomach at the thought of him loosing the sheet.
oh, he really didn't want that.
writing his name on the entry book hastily he ran upstairs, skipping 3 steps at a time in a thought to reach fast. his lungs and calves burned to give them a rest from all the running without to which he ignored, too determined to find the sheet.
reaching the seat he had been siting yesterday he felt his heart pang within the captive of his ribs.
the sheet was still there. safe and sound.
but?
his eyes squinted at the small sticky note sticking on the sheet that's dear to his life. walking towards the page he collected it into his hands. reading the note a smile creeped up on his lips.
//hey! your name is really pretty. i found this sheet today and i kinda took notes from it. thanks for it!!//
thanking the person for the nth time he took out a sticky note from his bag and wrote a small thanks.
//hello, thanks for leaving the note. this sheet is important to me. and it's fine if you took notes, haha. what's your name?//
if he was honesty, he was not expecting any reply from the said person who had left the note.
but when the next day he came with Akinori to issue some books for the upcoming projects.
//oh!! my bad, sorry i thought i really did mention my name in the end. it's Bokuto Koutarou!! 22, going professional in volleyball and i have to study history as a side subject...
oh!! you seem nice. here: #xxxx xxx xxx. you can text me if you feel comfortable!!//
carefully folding the piece of yellow sticky note he kept it in his jean pocket.
later that day he sat there on his comforters of his bed, conflicted between texting the number or not.
what if it's a sick prank? someone else's number? perhaps a random number?? should he even take the risk?? scam??
ignoring all the thoughts he decided to take the risk. something about the name and the way the chits were written made this said man 'Bokuto Koutarou' very magnetic in nature.
texting a simple 'hello' and his name he threw his phone on the other end of the bed, groaning. he seemed desperate about this.
but he can't help! this guy Bokuto seemed really nice and he could be more, he guessed????
after what felt like godly slow centuries he felt his phone buzz, muffled by the covers around it. reaching the phone he checked the time, eyes widening.
03:05 am
he saw the text from a contact name from 'Bokuto?'. wasting not a single minute he saw the reply as smile tugging over his soft pink lips.
[oh! hey hey hey!!]
[i didn't expect you to reply.]
why was he even awake? well he was being a hypocrite to think like that when he was wide awake too knowing he has to reach college for classes. he was sure he would look dead.
but anyways he didn't mind the time and texted back the number. texts going back and forth. getting to know each other. it was basically Bokuto telling jokes, bitching about his teachers and everything he had experienced till now while Akaashi went along with the conversation, laughing at his antics and his bubbly nature.
ah, it felt nice. refreshing. even though he barely had slept in days.
god knows when the foggy night dipped low for the new autumn morning. the sunrays bleeding into his room from the partially open blinds, falling onto his study table. the clock reflecting the light onto the wall that fell on its cover glass.
he was still wide awake. fingers still typing continuously the keys of the keyboard of his phone. smiling every now and then at the replies he got from the other male.
fun indeed.
--
weeks passed with the continuous talking and sharing everyday stuff with each other and soon the autumn took its exit letting winters slide in for next few months.
chits were occasionally exchanged. the secluded corner of the second level of the chit exchange without showing themselves to each other became a habit they adjusted it into their busy schedule.
//ooo i came here today and i thought of leaving a chit for you to read. we should meet someday!!!!//
few days.
//we should, indeed. lets find a right time to meet.//
it was so comfortable.
Akaashi would be lying if he said he haven't sneaked to Bokuto's game.
oh god, it was a mess.
not only this man is fun to talk to and so polite and all but how can he be this good looking?!
"what the actual fuck." akaashi had muttered under his breath as he saw bokuto walk into the arena, chest puffing with pride. the ravenette felt his cheeks burn with a red tint paint purely over his cheekbones.
he could only think of one thing as he watched the pepper salt haired man play the whole match and win it.
'am i gay??????' god it sounded so scandalous.
but looking at him play. his muscles ripple with each moment he took. the way he ruffled his hair to wipe out the sweat, hair messy. the way his jersey rode up as he went in for a powerful spike. everything.
'god, i am so gay. what the fuck.'
akaashi decided he would never tell this to the other male. about him going to his matches only to fall more and more for him with every passing moment. the conversation, the antics, the looks, the nature. everything.
he won't admit that he practically got hard as the first thing in the morning when Bokuto had sent him a voice message of him saying a simple 'good morning'. the problem was not the good morning message but his fucking deep, heavy sleep laced voice.
god, he was down bad for the man.
the early winters slowly turned into mid winters with the call of snow. November slowly turned December and new year approached. a day where they both decided to meet. well for akaashi, he would see him for the nth time now. for bokuto.... first time.
akaashi decided to not tell this to bokuto. jesus, he felt like a damn stalker.
tapping on the shoulder of the man with pepper salt hair, who had his god sculptured back faced to the ravenette.
'i don't mind watching his back for the rest of my lif- jesus christ, shut the fuck up please. don't mess this up.' he mentally cursed as he saw the said man turn to face his gunmetal eyes. his grey eyebrows cocking up in a questioning look.
"how can i help you?"
"i am akaashi keiji..." he mumbled. lips parting slightly as he saw the other man grin ear to ear at the slip of the name.
the night went smoothly. they indulged in all the games that were available in the fair. ate every possible dish not having mercy on their hurting pockets.
ending the night at the river bank side, sitting comfortably on the mats that were set up for the viewers to witness the fireworks for the arrival of the new year.
but something for bokuto made it hard to look at the sky. he couldn't help but watch the man beside him from the corner of his eyes. he just looked so ethereal. skin so clear and pristine, basically reflecting all the colors painting the sky by the crackers. his eyes, blue, but shining so bright even under the dark sky.
he made sure to ask Akaashi for a pic together before he dropped him off. setting it as his lockscreen and homescreen.
'god have mercy, i am so gay.' he screamed in his head. mind not moving on from the burned image he he had drawn in his head of Akaashi. how can someone be this beautiful??
he has to keep it low- key. but, can he?
after the new year meet up. they met frequently. akaashi watching his matches while bokuto used to study, more like complain, with him at the library.
they were down bad for each other. but won't speak about it. just because.
time passes quick. seasons changes. winters came to an end. all the dried up trees showing a sign of life again. pink petals decorating every second tree so beautifully. the snow had melted away from the pleasant warmth of spring painting the whole land in fresh green and spots of pink from all the blossom leaves leaving the home of the trees.
feelings that were supposed to stay small and bottled up, filled up to the brim. it wasn't just a crush anymore. the seasons had changed but feelings remained the same within themselves for each other. and it kept building up till it was over flowing.
each glance, each action, each word and each conversation made them fall deeper into the suffocating feeling of love.
the thing is, akaashi is patient and he knows how to showcase his emotions. he knows what to show and what to not. but bokuto? oh honey no. he doesn't think twice before doing or saying something. he is... impatient.
an impatient person in love? disastrous.
he didn't think twice as he wrote a letter on a pale page. a letter on how much beautiful he finds Akaashi. he didn't think twice as he made his way to the library. he didn't think twice as he kept the letter there on their secluded seat of conversation.
he didn't think about the rejection that could come.
he just wished for the best. like he always does.
he waits. patiently, for once.
but again, for how long?
three days had passed but it seemed like akaashi hadn't even visited the awaited library. he had told bokuto about his upcoming project for the end of the semester. he had already issued books for the project a day before bokuto had kept the letter.
so close.
he decided: he can't wait anymore. he jolt up from his bed, hair hanging low over his forehead. he picked his phone typing away to the person he is so desperate for.
[hey!! can we meet at the library real quick?? its urgent.]
he wrote as he threw on a sweatshirt over his shirtless body. reaching the porch of his house his phone buzzed.
[its pretty late rn??? but sure.]
god, at last. but then the dread he had been ignoring settled in. what if he rejects? what if i ruin what we have? no no, he doesn't want this.
panicking he put on his shoes, sprinting out from his apartment. not wanting to wait for the elevator he took the stairs. 12 floors down from stairs... he ran, not giving his lungs the needed break from one block to another. the roads empty with only few passer by walking back home maybe and the light lamps only illuminating the empty sidewalk and roads.
he just wished for akaashi to not have reached before him as he stood on front of the library doors. he pushed them open taking a deep breath as he padded slowly up the stairs.
taking a turn to the place he had to reach his eyes widened at the figure he wanted to see after he reached but no. he was tad bit late.
akaashi stood there, teal sweatshirt hanging over his lean figure. letter, open and probably read by now, between his slender fingers. his head whipped up to see bokuto, mouth gapped, wanting to say something but nothing came out.
"i- i can explain." bokuto never thought his voice could come out so small. "its okay if you will reject me. i mean it will hurt like a bitch but its fair... you have your own choices and i was selfish to write it i guess... i don't wanna ruin what we both have!! i cherish it a lot."
he was rambling at this point trying his best to explain his emotions that where all over the place. he was so messed with his words he didn't hear the multiple times akaashi had uttered his name. it was until akaashi had to practically yelp out his name in a dead silent library.
"Bokuto!! what the hell??"
"wha- what?" oh god, he sounds so upset...
"can you let me speak now? there is nothing for you to explain. the letter did its job already." the shorter man commented.
there was a heavy silence between them as akaashi busied himself in folding the letter back and putting it in the envelop. bokuto couldn't hear the paper rustling as it was being folded but his heart shattering at the due rejection.
the taller man didn't look up from the ground. he didn't have the balls to look into those gunmetal eyes. he figured it would be filled with anger and hatred.
he was so ready to hear the rejection now.
but nothing came.
slowly he lifted his head, taking the risk to look at the man in front of him. he took a step back when he saw akaashi smiling, face flushed in shades of pink and red under the light of lanterns that were lit all around the library for the starry night.
"won't you speak anything now?" he whispered. "aren't you going to reject me?"
"no? why would i?" akaashi answered with a question. smile never faltering.
huh?
"wait- you like me??" his words came out chocked at the realization. maybe it was mutual. maybe it wasn't as scandalous as it looked like. i was a new bloom of love.
"no, i like you too." he drawled out walking towards Bokuto. "like a lot. pretty desperate you can say. i just thought that it would never be mutual so i kept it in."
to say that bokuto was happy was an understatement. all these months together with him as friends was all something he always had wished but now? lovers? yes. how can he ask for anything more than this?
his hands reached out to the male walking towards him, pulling him into a hug he craved to give him so desperately.
"i love you so much."

(bokuaka fic) moments seared in memory
Pairing: Akaashi Keiji/Bokuto Koutarou
Rating: G
Tags: Angst with a Happy Ending, Pining Bokuto Koutarou
Length: 1,696 words
Summary: Five times Bokuto's feelings for Akaashi are not returned (plus one time they finally are).
(1)
“I’m the worst,” Bokuto moans into his palms, hiding amidst the cacophony of squeaking sneakers and the shouts of his superior teammates who have managed to procure those few coveted starter positions. “I’m not going to be able to play any games this season because I’m terrible at volleyball. I can’t do this, I’m actually the worst, I hate myself—”
“Nobody can be perfect all the time, Bokuto-san.”
Surprised, Bokuto lifts his head up. The boy to his right is looking directly at him, gray eyes flat with something enigmatic
boredom? The kid is new, which isn’t surprising—nobody who has played with Bokuto in the past year bothers to approach him during his funks anymore, as most of them are wary of becoming a casualty in his vortex of depression.
Well, if the new guy wants to try his hand at playing nice, Bokuto isn’t going to hold back. “I’m never perfect, though,” Bokuto wails. His face goes back into his hands. “I’m the worst.”
“You’re not the worst,” the boy says mildly. “And the diagonal shot that you did last practice was the closest to perfection I’ve seen since I joined.”
Bokuto perks up. He remembers that spike. It happened during the practice yesterday after school, and he had felt on top of the world. However, nobody had really acknowledged it as anything extraordinary, besides saying a customary “good job.” “You think so?”
“I do.”
His chest warm and glowing, Bokuto ducks his head sheepishly, hand coming up to stroke the hairs on the back of his head. “That’s really nice of you to say. Maybe I’m not the worst!” He peers up at the boy, blinking at him through his eyelashes. “So what’s your name? I’m Bokuto, but seems like you already knew that.”
“Coach was saying your name a lot.” The boy smiles, close-mouthed and restrained. “Akaashi Keiji,” he introduces himself. “I’m a first-year. I played as a setter in middle school.”
“A setter!” Bokuto gasps. Without thinking, he seizes Akaashi’s hands. “Will you set for me?”
“If I were setter, I would set for everyone,” Akaashi points out. He removes his hands from Bokuto’s grasp and turns his attention away from the boy and towards the ongoing practice.
—
(2)
When their captain has called for the end of practice and they’re doing a few slow laps around the court for a cooldown, Bokuto quickened his pace slightly above what’s strictly recommended until he is next to Akaashi.
“Akaashi, you’re an amazing setter!” Bokuto tells him in lieu of a proper greeting.
“Thank you,” Akaashi says, tipping his head in slight acknowledgement. “You are quite talented yourself, Bokuto-san.”
Something bright and warm seems to unfurl its petals inside of Bokuto’s chest. “Do you want to get dinner together?” He blurts out as soon as the thought comes to mind.
Akaashi looks
 cautious. “Why?”
The thought of saying the real answer out loud makes Bokuto squirm. “As a thank you for being an awesome setter, of course!” He lies.
“That will not be necessary,” Akaashi replies. “I’m merely helping you as any other member of our team would do.”
Bokuto frowns. “Well then, as friends?”
Akaashi turns his face towards him, and Bokuto is struck by how unreadable his expression is. “I’m a little tired, Bokuto-san. I would prefer to go home and rest.”
Taken aback, Bokuto rushes to say, “Of course! Sorry, sorry—of course you should go home and rest.”
Bokuto doesn’t say much more while they finish up the lap together. He wants to—the words are trapped in his throat, right behind his teeth, but one look at Akaashi’s face and the frigid spring air seems to freeze it all within him.
—
(3)
“Do you ever think of me, Akaashi?” Bokuto’s voice cracks on the question, and he hates himself for it. “Not during volleyball practice, or when we’re together at the training camp, or in the middle of a game. Do—do you ever think about what I’m doing when you’re alone? Or when you see something, so you wonder how I would react? What I’d say about it?”
Akaashi’s blank face turns apologetic. It’s a smooth transition, neat and graceful. Bokuto hates that while he is choking out words, holding onto his own elbows to keep them from shaking, Akaashi’s usual performance of tranquility hasn’t been stifled at all. “I’m not one to think much after other people,” comes the diplomacy, the equivocation.
“Just answer the question!”
A beat of deadened silence, the tautness of the body before the fall.
“I don’t,” Akaashi tells him softly. “I’m sorry, Bokuto-san.”
—
(4)
One moment, Bokuto is by himself at the university’s library, dozing off at the math tutoring table after afternoon classes—and then suddenly, there is a hand on his wrist, and he jolts fully awake to see Akaashi in front of him.
“Bokuto-san,” Akaashi says, and there’s something in his voice that makes Bokuto realize how much time has passed. He is wearing round, black wire glasses, and there is a book bag slung on his side. So this is what first-year university student Akaashi Keiji looks like. “Do you—how are you?”
“I’m good,” Bokuto replies, and the steadiness of his voice surprises even himself. It doesn’t betray the splintering within, the raw and bleeding heart, as tender as it would be if someone had grated it over a steel shredder for two long years of high school. “I’ve been good. How are you?”
“I’ve been okay.”
Awkwardness spreads between them. Bokuto thinks that it’s starting to give off the sour scent of decay, maybe even rot, and so before it can get any worse he opens his mouth and starts to say, “Well, it was nice seeing you again.”
(But this time. This time, there is a twist.)
(Akaashi hurriedly interrupts Bokuto’s, “Well, it was nice seeing you again,” with his own, “Did you eat already?”)
(Bokuto blinks. “No?”)
(“Do you want to get lunch with me now?”)
—
(5)
“Did I make you uncomfortable during our reunion?” Bokuto blurts out suddenly, turning to Akaashi in the middle of the sidewalk. A stranger who was walking behind them squawks angrily at them as he veers to go around them, but Bokuto ignores him, waiting for Akaashi’s reply.
Akaashi doesn’t waste time pretending not to know what Bokuto is talking about. “When Komi-san asked if you’re seeing anyone, and you said that you still love me,” he says, not so much a question as a statement of fact.
Bokuto pinks but doesn’t back down. “Yeah.”
Akaashi hesitates. The internal struggle is visible on his face. Finally, he answers, “It doesn’t. I hope this doesn’t sound cruel, but I find it flattering that someone like you would love me, so much so that it slightly baffles me as to why you would.”
Bokuto grins. “Sometimes I don’t know either.”
Akaashi’s face falls, and Bokuto realizes how that must have been understood. “Not because you’re not good enough! You are—you’re too good for me. It’s just that I’ve loved you for years, so now it’s more of a default state of being rather than because of this or that reason, you know?”
Angels weep as Akaashi smiles, and Bokuto is dazzled. All of this—being able to talk about it openly without someone crying (him) or someone yelling (again, him)—is giving him an overwhelming hope that surges like a sparks in an electric storm, and he has to swallow down the temptation to ask why Akaashi is okay with it now when he wasn’t before, what this means, if it’s okay to hope—
But perhaps his attempt to quell it all down is too obvious, as Akaashi shifts awkwardly. Bokuto rushes to reassure him. “I don’t expect anything. I’m just
I’m so happy that we’re friends again.”
—
(+1)
“I don’t like time-skips in movies,” Bokuto complains. Akaashi’s laptop screen is running the end credits.
“Why not?”
“It feels cheap!” Bokuto rolls over so that he’s laying on his back, looking down his nose at Akaashi, who gazes back calmly. “They’re just like, ‘hey, we know these characters are going through it right now, but instead of showing you how things end up progressing, we’re going to make a huge chunk of time pass to substitute for actual development.’”
It is quiet for a beat too long. Finally, Akaashi says, “There are an infinite number of ways to tell the same story.”
“I guess.” Trust the literature student to turn this into a theory seminar.
“And I think sometimes,” Akaashi says, “the development is really slow. Really, really, way too slow. Maybe stupidly so, but,” he coughs up a laugh, “hindsight is twenty-twenty, as they say.”
“Yeah?” Bokuto replies. He’s not sure where this is going.
“Recently
” Akaashi’s voice is quiet, and his gaze is trained somewhere on the horizon, graceful fingers fidgeting at the handle of his mug. Whenever his fingernails collide against the ceramic, there are light clinking noises. “Recently, I’ve realized that there is someone I’ve loved for a long time.”
Bitterness cuts into Bokuto. But he’s never known how to hold himself back from pressing a curious thumb into the bruise, so he asks, “Who’s—what’s this guy like?”
Bokuto watches as Akaashi considers the question. “More patient and kind than I deserve,” he begins. “Close to perfection. A star. My best friend in so many ways.
“He’s you, Bokuto-san,” Akaashi says. His voice is so soft, like the time all those years ago when he turned down Bokuto’s confession. “I’m in love with you. I’m sorry I didn’t realize until now.”
All of those moments in time that seared too hot and painful in Bokuto’s memory, that harangued him, “protect your heart and give up”: in an instant, they burn a different color in his memory. Now, they say, “Even when it was so hard, you stayed true to yourself.”
“Please don’t be sorry,” Bokuto tells Akaashi. “The most important thing is, I still love you, too.”
Akaashi’s smile is blinding. Close to perfection, if not perfection itself. Bokuto thinks, This was all worth it, and pulls Akaashi in for a kiss.

Tsukishima Kei x fem!reader
Tumblr media

[a/n: yes yes yes!! Thank you for requesting anon, I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to make this a multiple part fic...this was a very inspiring prompt đŸ„ș ugh just look at him :(( I luv this boy so much âŁïžI feel like this is cannon Tsukki behavior, he would definitely go too far with teasing the person he likes since he’s so emotionally unavailable sometimes. This actually has an angsty ending but it will get fluffy, I promise. I hope this isn’t too bad...I’m not super cofident with how it came out.  Anyways, here you go! enjoy! -yours truly, bunnyy -`áƒŠïżœïżœ-]
Being the team manager of a bunch of highly energetic boys was definitely a challenge. Thankfully, you weren’t alone. Having Kiyoko and eventually Yachi by your side. You joined once school had started up seeing that you had used to play volleyball in middle school. A very promising wing spiker that was rumored to do very well, possibly even play in pro teams. That all changed in your last game of the season. You had landed a bad spike that was easily received. Once you had landed back on the court, distracted by your loss, you landed very wrong and injured your knee. You had slowly recovered with painfully long hours of physiotherapy but you had to always wear a brace on your right knee just to keep it stable. You hadn’t played volleyball since. You desperately wanted to but you were afraid to mess up again. So you decided to ease back into the sport by being a team manager. Then, you met him.
Tsukishima Kei.
He was a big, big, big pain in your ass. Especially after Coach Ukai came on board. He had learned of your success as a wing spiker and occasionally as a middle block, and had you help out Tsukishima and Hinata. Hinata was ecstatic, he didn't mind since he used to practice with the ladies from the community center but the same couldn’t be said about Tsukishima.
He scoffed and asked how a shrimp could teach him how to block. You quickly shut him up when you had successfully blocked out one of Asahi’s spikes. That didn’t mean he was compliant. He was far from it. Always putting in the bare minimum and it irked you to no end...but, yes there’s a but, there was times where you could see how happy he was to have gotten a good block. His expression didn’t really show it but it was all in the eyes.
Oh how you could get lost in those pools of gold.
He definitely took notice. He wouldn’t admit it but, he admired you greatly. He knew about what happened in middle school. He saw the limp in your step.He also saw you practicing with Hinata and the third years during lunch or after practice. He hated how inferior he felt around you. Despite being permanently injured, you had a smile on your face. No matter how many times you had to repeat basic instructions for setting up to block, you still believed in him. You smiled when he accomplished something, even if it was something done with minimal effort and you tell him, ‘See, I knew you could do it!’ He hated it, not really, but he did. You were also very attractive. Adorable eyes and smile, a dangerously enticing body, and sharp tongued. He thought it was hot that you could keep up with his wit.
Then it started happening. His heart would beat faster whenever you smiled at him. It would beat wildly when your shoulder brushed against his arm. He would feel fuzzy and warm at your praises. Sugarawa had taken notice to the longing glances you both shared when the other wasn’t looking, the blush that would tint your cheeks when the tall blonde would lean down to tease you. So, of course, he told Asahi and Daichi. The captain just shook his head. Of course he was intrigued but it was none of his business. Asahi felt the same but he was definitely more open to fan-boying over the two first years.
Tsukishima had also realized that he didn’t like when someone flirted with you. Whether it was Tanaka and Noya messing around or what he was scowling at in the current moment.
You were blushing and stuttering because of Nekoma’s captain. Rooster head was wooing you with a copious amount of flirty remarks and compliments. Along with that owl headed loud mouth from Fukurodani. You had caught the eye of many during the summer training camp. Especially when you walked into gym #3 in those spandex shorts and a Karasuno pull over.
“O-Oh!” You had squeaked, “I didn’t think anyone would be here.”
“And why are you here so late, chibi-chan?~” And that’s when it started. He had just come in for his towel and was asked to stay and practice and you walked in before he could answer.
“So? What do you say Tsukishima?” Bokuto turned to the blonde who sighed.
“We just had a whole day of training, why would I want to practice more?” He took off his glasses and cleaned them with his towel.
“That’s a great idea! You could learn a lot from these three, Tsukishima-kun! More than you could from me.” You had clasped your hands together, grinning. Akaashi seemed a bit taken aback that you had even noticed him.
“What do you mean? Are you a coach?” Bokuto had leaned down a bit, his face a bit too close to yours.
“W-well no b-but I help him and Hinata practice their blocking.”
“You help them with blocking?” Kuroo was intrigued, if you were helping them then maybe you were pretty good.
“Not well enough.” Tsukishima scoffed.
“Yeah well maybe you’d learn something if you put in the effort.” You retorted, arms crossed and eye brow quirked.
“Well since you think you’re such hot stuff, why don’t you take my place and practice. I’m heading to bed.” You rolled your eyes at his words and that’s what you did. You explained your situation and you practiced in a 2v2. You and Bokuto vs Kuroo and Akaashi.
After a couple of rounds, you all sat around to cool down.
“So why haven’t you joined the girls team? You’d do really well there.” Akaashi asked as he gulped down some water.
“Well, I-I actually don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.” You shrugged. You weren’t exactly lying, you hadn’t really thought about it much.
“Liar.” Kuroo chuckled, a knowing smirk on his lips. “It’s because of that Tsukishima jerk, right?”
“What-what’re you talking about?”
“Oh come on! I saw the little looks you give him. How he gets a little flustered when you praise him during a game. I’d say that you have a crush on him.” Your reaction was priceless. Wide eyes, furious pink across your cheeks and mouth opening and closing like a fish.
“Oh ho ho! You have a crush!” Bokuto chuckled loudly. “(Y/n) and Tsukishima sitting in a tree! K.I.S.S.S.I.N.G!”
“Leave the poor girl alone, Bokuto.”Akaashi spoke in a bored tone, smacking the boy upside the head.
“Akaashi!”
And thus started the endless teasing. During day training and the extra training in gym #3. Tsukishima didn’t like it one bit. You were paying less attention to him and more to the two over-zealous captains. He had a grimace all through breakfast when Kuroo called you over to join Nekoma for a change. He watched as you happily chatted with the team, laughing at jokes, blushing at Kuroo’s shameless flirting, even getting Kenma to look away from his phone and have a conversation about Animal Crossing, exchanging info so he could invite you to his island.
He was pissed, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
“What’s wrong Tsukki?” Yamaguchi asked as he sat right in front of his scowling friend, playing with the food on his tray.
“(Y/n)! Is that all you’re eating? Here have some more grilled fish!” His scowl grew deeper as he watched Lev place pieces of fish in your bowl of rice, not missing the blush on your face when you stuttered out a thank you.
“Nothing Yamaguchi, I’m fine.” He basically growled as he pushed his seat out, forcefully picking up his tray and throwing out the untouched food, making a point to slam the door open and marching out.
“I wonder what’s gotten into Tsukishima.” Daichi frowned as he took a seat with Suga and Asahi.
“I think I know what.” Suga had a sly look on his face as he gestured over to you and Lev. The both of you conversing excitedly about something. “I think he’s jealous because a certain first-year manager is getting attention from the other teams.” The silver headed setter giggled. A look of realization washing over their features.
That jealous anger had definitely affected his playing. His usually calculated movements were off and he was awfully distracted. They had lost match after match and those punishment dives took a toll on everyone. You had taken it upon yourself to convince the managers that it was a good time to cut up the watermelon that was donated by a parent. They quickly agreed, the thought of a sweet and cool slice of the fruit enticing them as well.
“Alright boys! Break time!” They all had sped over to grab a slice of watermelon from their respective manager.
“Thank you, (y/n)-san.” Daichi smiled. The others following in suit, thanking you and grabbing a slice of the fruit.
“Thanks shrimp.” Tsukishima plucked the last piece from your outstretched hand, his fingers brushing against yours and smirking at the blush he caused. “What’s wrong? Do I make you nervous?” He leaned in closer, so close that if you had moved an hair closer, your noses would have brushed.
“Pfft...as if.” You turned away, leaving him amused as he stalked away
Training had ended on another sour note, chests heaving after another round of of punishment dives. You changed into shorts and a t-shirt again and made your way back to the gym.
“Hey Hey! You ready for more training?” Bokuto jumped excitedly. You guys had been in the middle of another set when Lev came bounding in, followed by Hinata and Kageyama.
You decided to take a break and help Lev with his receiving.
“Lev, you’ve gotta bend your knees lower. Loosen up, you’re too stiff.” You instructed from beside him, lowering yourself as an example.
“That invitation to train with us is still open, you know?” Bokuto’s words made you perk up and turn to the doors, and sure enough, there stood the tall blonde.
“I just came in for my shoes.” A fake smile painted his lips as he scratched the back of his neck with his free hand, meeting your eyes before you quickly turned away.
“WHAT?! You’re turning down training with the captains of powerhouses? No fair!” Hinata whined.
Tsukishima ignored him completely. “What’s wrong (y/n)? Did they finally get annoyed with you?” He scoffed.
“N-no...I’m just taking a break.” You spun the ball in your hands.
“I’m sure. I mean, I bet those short legs of yours must get tired easily.” He snickered. No one really laughed, they were unsure if he was actually insulting you or if he was playing around.
“My legs are perfectly fine. Even if they are short, I definitely jump way higher than you.” You smirked. You had grown accustomed to his teasing and to take his words with a grain of salt. But this time, your words seemed to have hit right in his inferiority complex.
“Then why’d you ever stop playing? You’d be doing us a favor by joining a team so I don’t have to hear your irritating complaints about how much I suck but I guess that’d be hard with a bum knee. I mean, you can barely even walk without limping.” He hadn’t really thought about the word vomit that was leaving his mouth. He was just letting out his anger and jealousy. He didn’t notice that you started crying. He had gone too far. His eyes widened ever so slightly.
“(Y/n)...” Lev asked carefully, placing a hand on your quivering shoulders.
“You know why I complain, Tsukishima?” The fact that your voice was so steady and venomous sent shivers down his spine. “I complain because I care about you! I know you can do better than how you’re doing now. I also know that if you don’t put in more effort, Ukai is taking you out of the starting line up! And I know it’s going to hurt me seeing your potential go to waste because I-I...” The stale silence that followed made everyone uncomfortable. No one knew what to do. Comfort you or reprimand Tsukishima.
They watched as you let the ball drop from your hands and you slumped to the exit. “I’m sorry for causing a scene. I’m going to bed. Goodnight everyone.” Kuroo flinched at how broken you sounded. He couldn’t blame you. The guy you liked had basically just called you annoying and teased you about a major insecurity. They watched as you left the gym, shoulder shaking as more tears made their way down your cheeks.
“Not cool man.” Was all Kuroo had to say as he followed you out. Concern clearly etched on his face.
“Tch...whatever.” He gritted his teeth and walked out before hearing Yamaguchi call for him and charge in his direction.
“(Y/n)...”Kuroo called out to you. You were leaning against the outside of the gym, hand clamped over your mouth. He approached you with open arms, an embrace being exactly what you needed. You slumped against him and buried your face into his chest. “For what it’s worth, I think you’re amazing.” You chuckled weakly.
“Thanks Kuroo...”
Back with Tsukishima, Hinata decided to scold him about how he should be more careful with his words and how he should go apologize. As much as he disliked the orange haired idiot, he agreed that he owed you an apology. So he made his way behind the gym, peering around the corner when he heard Kuroo talking.
“There’s no need to cry. Those ugly tears aren’t fitting for a beautiful girl like you.” He cupped your cheeks and wiped your tears away. Unlike compliments before, there was no playful tone in his voice.
Your heart thumped wildly in your chest. There was no doubt that you had feelings for Tsukishima but having someone as handsome as Kuroo inches from your face was definitely making you feel some type of way. You bit your lip as you looked into his eyes, they were sincere. Then looking down at his lips. His eyes searched yours before he noticed where your gaze was. His own eyes looking at your plush lips before meeting your gaze once more. His thumb ran over your bottom lip and nudged it from its place, stressed between your teeth. You both leaned forward, caught in the moment, lips meeting in the middle. Melding together and moving in sync. Your hands moving around his shoulders and into his hair, his arms pulling you closer into him.
Tsukishima’s heart stopped once your lips met, looking away when neither of you pulled away from each other. His heart hurt. Next to being deceived by his brother, this really hurt him. He thought you had liked him. Was he wrong? Had he gotten his hopes up? He frowned at the confusion and betrayal that filled his body. Walking back to the dorms with a heavy heart and slumped shoulders.
When you and Kuroo had breathlessly pulled away, realization set in.
“This isn’t-I’m sorry, I don’t...I uhmm...”
“Relax. It’s fine. I know you don’t feel anything for me. And after that, I know I don’t either.” He scratched the back of his neck.
“Excuse me! Are you saying I’m a bad kisser?” You gasped in an over exaggerated manner. Hand over your heart.
“Yeah, pretty much. In fact, that’s probably one of the worst kisses I’ve had.”
“Oh ha ha.” You laughed flatly. A slightly awkward silence followed. “We’re good right?” You asked unsure.
“Of course we are, chibi-chan, I know you have goo-goo eyes for that big mouth idiot.”
“Just how confused are you? I like Tsukishima, not Bokuto.”
“Oh my god. Goodbye. I thought you were going to bed. It’s definitely past your bed time.” He ran a hand down his face in playful annoyance. Sighing when you were out of hearing range. “You really are something, chibi-chan.”
Back inside the gym, Hinata was ranting about  his teammate.”I don’t understand how he could be so dense.”
“You’re one to talk.” Kageyama snickered, although it went completely over his head. “But I guess he realized that he was rude and went to apologize.” Kuroo froze.
“He what?”
“He went to apologize.” Hinata repeated.
“When?”
“What’s wrong?” Bokuto cocked an eyebrow at his friends abrupt worry.
“Uhh a few minutes ago, I think. He went right around the corner. Why?”
Kuroo groaned and slapped his forehead. “He probably saw it.”
“Saw what?” Lev asked as he absentmindedly tossed the ball from hand to hand.
“I kissed (y/n).”
“YOU WHAT?!”
