Although I’m unsure if / when I’ll ever write any fics that take place in this time period, lately I’ve been thinking about post-canon PokéAni, years in the future when the characters are older and some of them have gone on to become Champions (and Elite Four members). Specifically, I’ve been thinking about who those Champions and their Elite would be, and so far what I’ve worked out is:
Kanto---
Champion: Ash Ketchum (Type Specialty: Varies)
Elite Four:
Misty Waterflower (Type Specialty: Water)
Ritchie (Type Specialty: Varies)
Sabrina (Type Specialty: Psychic)
Giselle (Type Specialty: Ground)
I’m not entirely sold on Sabrina yet, to be honest, and originally I had considered having Brock’s younger brother Forrest as one of the Elite. However, when I remembered Giselle I realized that I wanted her in, and having both a rock-type and ground-type specialist in the Elite Four feels a bit redundant / unwise. Therefore, I went with Giselle, as I feel she would be the stronger choice. That still left a fourth spot open, though, and out of all the trainers we see in Kanto I feel that Sabrina would be the strongest fit. I considered Aya, but considering she loses pretty much every battle she has in the anime, I feel like Sabrina would be the stronger pick. So for now, she’s in.
Also, for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, Elite Four order matters. They work under a hierarchical system, so in this case Misty is the leader of the Elite Four, Ritchie comes next, and so on and so forth.
Orange Islands---
Leader: Drake (Type Specialty: Varies)
Other Crew Members:
Rudi (Type Specialty: Varies)
Cissy (Type Specialty: Water)
Danny (Type Specialty: Varies)
Luana (Type Specialty: Varies)
Okay, they’re not technically a regional “League” per se (in that the Orange Islands does’t operate under the League system), and also nothing changes here since that would require making up new characters, and while I have done that for the Orange Crew (trust me), I feel like that would be a bit unfair, so. But I just couldn’t leave the motherfuckin’ Orange Crew out of this discussion. I just couldn’t. I love the Orange Crew. I love the Orange Islands. LET ME HAVE THIS. (Also, for reference, this Drake is a different Drake from Hoenn’s Drake. Very, completely different. Also, technically Ash defeated him, so really Ash should be the new leader of the Orange Crew, but Ash didn’t stay to take up that position, so . . .)
Johto---
Champion: Casey (Type Specialty: Varies)
Elite Four:
Karen (Type Specialty: Dark)
Lyra (Type Specialty: Varies)
Jimmy (Type Specialty: Fire)
Sakura (Type Specialty: Psychic)
Technically, in the games, Johto shares their Elite Four with Kanto. However, I still wanted to create a solely Johto Elite Four, so. Let the dream live. (Also, for those who don’t remember, Jimmy is the ENG dub name of Ethan’s anime counterpart. He appeared in the The Legend of Thunder special, while Lyra appeared during DP’s run. The only one I pulled from the games here is Karen, who to my knowledge never had an anime appearance.)
Hoenn---
Champion: Steven Stone (Type Specialty: Steel)
Elite Four:
Drake (Type Specialty: Dragon)
Shouta (Type Specialty: Varies)
Phoebe (Type Specialty: Ghost)
Sydney (Type Specialty: Dark)
I feel like Hoenn did not give me a lot to choose from, haha. But I was able to add Shouta, since he originates from Hoenn, and fanboys Steven to boot. I feel like he could work his way up to an Elite Four position. (And perhaps one day even be Champion himself, when it’s time for Steven to move on.) Drake, Phoebe, and Sydney are all pulled from the games since, again, not a lot of choices in the anime, I feel . . . (Presumably, Glacia retired and Shouta took her spot.)
Sinnoh---
Champion: Cynthia (Type Specialty: Varies)
Elite Four:
Lucian (Type Specialty: Psychic)
Flint (Type Specialty: Fire)
Bertha (Type Specialty: Ground)
Aaron (Type Specialty: Bug)
All four of the Elite appeared in the anime, and while it’s possible that Bertha could retire to make way for a new person (seems to be the oldest), I don’t really see a reason to do that, so. Sinnoh’s fine as-is, even in the future. =P
Unova---
Champion: Iris (Type Specialty: Dragon)
Elite Four:
Caitlin (Type Specialty: Psychic)
Marshal (Type Specialty: Fighting)
Shauntal (Type Specialty: Ghost)
Grimsley (Type Specialty: Poison)
In Unova, there is no hierarchy, so there is no technical “leader” of the Elite Four here. Also, while there were characters that I could replace since Caitlin was the only one to actually appear in the anime, I love the Unovan Elite Four and didn’t want to boot any of them out (even if I was tempted to put Cheren and/or Roxie in), so. They’re here to stay. =P
Kalos---
Champion: Alan (Type Specialty: Varies)
Elite Four:
Manon (Type Specialty: Grass)
Clemont (Type Specialty: Electric)
Malva (Type Specialty: Fire)
Siebold (Type Specialty: Water)
Like Unova, there’s no hierarchy here, though the duties that are typically handled by the “leader” of the Elite Four are split between Manon and Clemont. This is because Manon is always quick to jump to those duties when it comes to things like battling, world crises, and international Champion meetings, but quickly calls “not it” when it comes to actual administrative / legislative meetings with the Council, extra paperwork, et cetera, and thus passes the role onto Clemont. (Alan really doesn’t care who takes on the role, tbh. He just wants the things to get done.) Meanwhile, Malva and Siebold are the only two members of the Kalos Elite Four to appear in the anime. Malva should probably be fired (heh) due to her involvement with Flare; however, not only did she not receive any punishment at all in the games (despite being much more obviously evil!), but she turned on Lysandre at the end and helped stop the crisis. I do think she’d receive some sort of ramifications (suspension perhaps?), but that she’d probably be able to keep her position. That said, I will admit that part of why I want this is because the Kalosean Elite Four is typed according to the starter types (electric counts because of Pikachu in Yellow Version), and I think that’s neat. We can assume that Drasna and Wilkstrom retired due to both getting on in years.
Alola---
Champion: Hau (Type Specialty: Varies)
Elite Four:
Gladion (Type Specialty: Varies)
Olivia (Type Specialty: Rock)
Acerola (Type Specialty: Ghost)
Kahili (Type Specialty: Flying)
To be honest, it’s way too early to be deciding anything like this, and Hau doesn’t even exist in the anime, but when I imagine international Champion meet-ups, this is what I imagine (or at least, I imagine Champion Hau showing up with Gladion, who isn’t really the leader of the Elite Four since the Alolan Elite Four doesn’t have a leader, but whatever, he goes along with it anyway). Of course, I also can’t help but imagine To Devour the Sun!Gladion at those meet-ups, which means that he would be sniping / trying to pick a fight with Alan, at which point we’d get a little conversation like:
Ash: “Gladion’s yelling at you.” Alan: “I know. So, how have you been?” Gladion: “Bastard, don’t ignore me---!”
But, you know, it’s fine. =P

So I saw Stampede and now I have a few things to say~
Spoilers for the movie under the cut!
Tumblr media
-Usopp and Buggy c a r r i e d that movie. For real. Those two were everything
-I can’t believe Usopp took down Bullet actually I totally can
-can we just,,, appreciate Usopp??? His storyline in the movie??? To be fair there wasn’t really much of a story, but the bits with Usopp were truly amazing!
-SENTOMARUUUUU MY BABYYYY OMG I love all the screentime he got!!!! *soft whisper* it’s what he deserves
-Perona was cute af, like usual. I never thought that I would see her using the negative hollows on my boy Sentomaru, but it was SO CUTE AND HILARIOUS
-Drake. Drake’s transformation. Honey that shit,,, was hot. Not to be scalie, but him going at Bullet??? IN HIS DINO FORM??? H O T
-Chiffon and Pez my babies are safe
-CROCODADDY WAS DADDY AF AND HIS REUNION WITH ROBIN WAS LOWKEY,,,, HOT? Idk there was something about how he spoke to her that made me all👀
-they did that. They legit took a scene from the ‘Phantom’ show from the One Piece Tower (I’ve seen that one twice!) where Ann projects Ace and added that to the end of the movie. Iconic.
-can we talk about the animation??? HOW GORGEOUS AND FLUID IT WAS???
-that Killer vs. Zoro bit had me shook
-Killer in general had me shook
-Kid worrying about Killer had me shook, what BABIES
-Bullet is,,,, I’m gonna say it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lowkey Daddy
-Boa’s kick??? Her being all pissed and running up that huge ass Bullet-Monster-Body thing looking all feral??? HOOOOOOOTTTT
-That Foxy moment where he asked Nami to protect him had me and the entire cinema rolling. One of the highlights, without a doubt xD
-YEEEEES MORGANS BABY GET THOSE NEWS YOU FUNKY BIRD MAN YOU xD
now, there were some things I didn’t like though...
-the story, what story???
-Hnnghhh legit,,, Gold had a much better opening and actually bothered to properly explain Tesoro’s powers. With Bullet it was like... okay, I guess he can do all that
-the whole movie felt kind of like one big amv xD??? I mean it was just about fights, fights, FIGHTS. And then they constantly get interrupted to show OTHER fights. It’s just,,, mhhhhhh.
-too many characters, I’m gonna say it- it was sweet seeing all those cameos, but the thing is... they tried to weave it into the story, which just caused it to somewhat feel like a huge clusterfuck of things happening all at once
-with some characters... you knew they were just there for two seconds of action and then poof! Leave again. Fujitora. Mihawk. Legit,,, they had no real point being there xD
-Bullet is far too OP. Luffy defeating him in the end made almost NO sense, I mean that guy slapped Snakeman and all Supernovas (minus Law and Zoro who didn’t fight him with the others) away like nothing a few minutes ago,,,, yet,,, Boundman Luffy still takes Bullet down on a pretty much 1 vs. 1 basis? Mhhhhhh
-was it never really explained what actually happened to Law? Like he just showed up injured and we never really know why and how that happened lol
-Festa is fucking,,, S C A R Y as shit. You thought Tesoro was crazy? This bitch is T E R R I F Y I N G
-Diva Ann, I love you baby, but you and that other moderator were lowkey annoying xD
-once again, Robin and Nami did almost nothing. Now don’t get me wrong, aside from Luffy, Zoro and Sanji (to some extend) the other SH’s also didn’t do much, but... you had Zoro clashing with an admiral yet couldn’t give Robin like,,, a moment,,,, to shine?
Final verdict: a solid 7/10 movie, but could use more Biscuitdaddy

Madeleine didn’t attend the meal, neither did Kiara. Instead the women decided to meet up with each other- to drown each other’s sorrow. Madeleine always believed that she had full control over her relationship with Leo and that he would never actually provide her with divorce papers.
“The bastard is divorcing me Ki, that Brooks girl has caused all of this. Why aren’t you as angry as I am? She stole your man and now her sister has stolen mine.”
“What can I do Maddy? The fake pregnancy didn’t help me keep him. He looks at her like he used to look at me. And Leo will just be bluffing. Unlike Riley she has a life in the states.”
Madeleine began to think, maybe Kiara was right. Maybe Leo just had lust for this woman- she may not be his usual one night stand but she didn’t belong in cordonia, neither did Riley Brooks.
“Kiara, if we hold on- we may get our men back. Riley is only contracted to one season, if we convince Constantine to not renew that contract you will get Drake back and I’ll be able to keep my husband.”
*****
Olivia returned home, Liam and Leo had waited up for her. The journey back was silent- Olivia just kept repeating Reginas words in her mind. She had a suspicion about who the secret love child was- but needed the two brothers to help her confirm if it could be accurate.
Storming through the door, she held onto the doorframe removing her heels- walking into the kitchen she poured herself a glass of wine. The two men joined her.
“So?” They both waited eagerly for Olivia to elaborate. She liked to keep people waiting and guessing when she had gossip- which frustrated everyone.
“How would you both feel about having another brother?” They both looked at each wondering how drunk she was. Noticing their bewildered expressions- she shook her head.
“Regina was very quiet. Not her usual self. I think Xavier is your brother. As a result of one of your father’s many affairs.”
******
Drake woke up, still holding on to Riley. He was going to keep his promise about not letting her go and protecting her. Sneaking out of bed, he decided to go downstairs to make her breakfast in bed.
Walking into the kitchen, he had an audience giving him a look. A look that kill. They all looked exhausted. Bianca robotically strolled over to him passing him a black coffee- I think you’ll need this, did you use protection?
Drake had wondered why his Mom kept repeating those words. Lying he nodded, he and Riley never really spoke about contraception. Every time they were together it just happened.
“Bastien can I make some breakfast please? I’ll take it up for her.”
“Why? Why doesn’t she come down? Not wanting to do the walk of shame?” Lindsey smirked and winked at Drake. Even though she was slightly traumatised hearing her little sister have sex, she was happy that the blushing man stood in front of her could finally make her sister feel like a princess.
“She’s asleep. I just want to do something nice for her. Lindsey there was something I wanted to ask you. It’s her birthday Saturday- I wanted to ask if you’ll come shopping with me.”
“Sure. When?”
“Later on?”
“It’s a date. Well not a date. You know what I mean. What are you getting her?”
“I want to get her two things. Something sentimental and something that she deserves.”
Lindsey nodded and smiled, wondering what he was considering buying her- she couldn’t wait to find out.
*****
Xavier knocked on Constantine’s door, seeing Riley again made him regret everything that he had done in the past to her. He loved her, he was stressed out that his career had ended prematurely. It was no excuse to use his wife as a punch bag. Since receiving the divorce papers, reality sunk in deep and hard. Having this opportunity to spend time with his wife he was hoping to make amends.
“Good morning, how may I help?”
“I’ve been thinking about the first match that I’ll be managing, I’ve drafted out some tactics for the team. Also it’s Riley’s birthday. I was thinking it would be nice for her to miss the match- maybe Bastien could stand in?”
“Unfortunately she will have to be present, I will make sure that she can leave early though. Are you still in love with her?” Xavier looked defeated, he knew she would never return his love again- he blew his changes with his wife who once adored the back bones of him.
“Of course I am. I messed up. I understand that now. I’ve had counselling and I believe that I could make a better husband. And I want to get to know my brothers too.” Patting Xavier on the shoulder, he knew paying for the counselling sessions for his son would change him. He could see a difference in him already.
“I will arrange for a family meal between you and I, Liam, Leo and Riley. They deserve to know the truth. Only Regina knows. Leave it to me.”
*****
Drake had made a breakfast fit for a Queen, hoping that she would appreciate it. The aroma of; cronuts, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, hash browns lingered in the room. Riley fluttered her eyes open, seeing Drake sat in front of her smiling and admiring her.
“Good morning sleeping beauty.”
“Morning. What’s all this?” Smiling, she looked at all the food in front of her. No one had done such a spontaneous gesture for her.
“Breakfast in bed, for my gorgeous girlfriend.”
“That sounds so surreal.” Drake slipped into bed, holding her lovingly.
“So, I know this conversation is a bit late to discuss, since we met we have had occasions where we haven’t been careful. I know it’s mainly my fault and I’ll be careful. I’ll keep a condom with me at all times.”
“Drake... I’m on the implant. I know it’s not 100% but it’s something. Don’t worry.” He knew it wasn’t sensible just relying on the implant, he had always wanted to plan children, plan a family- if there was an accidental unplanned pregnancy this soon in the relationship he wasn’t sure how either of them would react.
“I’ll still be careful. Erm, I’m going out this afternoon- so I thought we could spend this morning together. Do something together. What do you want to do? I’ve got an idea.”
“I don’t mind. What is your idea?” She was intrigued at what he was going to suggest. Every second she spent with him filled her heart with joy. They could spend the day at a dump site and she would be happy. As long as he was with her, she didn’t care.
“It’s a place called the ‘forgotten falls’, it’s beautiful. You’ll need some swimwear though.”
“Oh. Well looks like I’ll have to go home and get some then, or we could skinny dip.” She said winking, Drake knew she was teasing him but he wouldn’t mind the suggestion.
*****
Arriving at the forgotten falls after doing a de tour via Riley’s apartment, she couldn’t admire the scenery enough- it was breathtaking.
“So there’s a story about the waterfall. If two lovers climb to the top and jump in it is said that they will get a blessing from the lady of the waterfall.” Riley raised her eyebrows up at him- folding her arms.
“That is so sweet, but are not doing that Walker, have you forgotten about your ankle?” Riley still raising her eyebrows as he smirked at her, she wasn’t going to get blamed for causing for harm or injury.
“I knew you’d react like that. But honestly it’s beautiful here- we could just have a swim? Chill out?” Drake rolled his ankle in a circular motion, trying to convince her that he was fine.
“Sounds perfect. And besides I don’t need a blessing. We just need each other and that’s all.” Raising onto her tip toes, she wrapped her arms around him- tightly not wanting to let go, before kissing him gently on the lips. The kiss became more passionate before Drake picked her up- walking into the crystal see through water. Peppering her body with tender kisses, the world around them melted away. The two of them couldn’t resist each other- sneakily they had sex in the sea- the passion between them both was undeniable. They were falling in love, both of them needed a positive love story.
“I never thought I’d find anyone like you. You are so precious.” He said as he stroked her cheeks, admiring her. She was his and he couldn’t quite believe his luck.
“Your such a marshmallow. Where’s that grump that hated me as a child?” Reminiscing What Bastien has told them, she never thought the grumpy child would become someone she was beginning to love.
“I didn’t mean that. Well I probably did. I just wish bastien had continued to take us to the states to you.” Sitting up, Riley also thought about this. Wondering if they had met any other times. If so why couldn’t she remember?
“So do I. But should maybe question him as to why he didn’t.”
“I don’t care. Fate brought us together and I’m never letting you go. I’m falling hard for you, and I want to keep falling.” Drake placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, and snuggled into her. The remained like that for a while, before retrieving their belongings and heading back to his car.
*******
Drake dropped Riley off back home, giving her a goodbye kiss- he missed her immediately. Meeting Lindsey in the capitol, she looked more awake than she did this morning.
“So, what are you buying her. I’m so intrigued.” Drake smirked, staying silent. He had showered Kiara with gifts in the past, but she never appreciated them. He knew the slightest minuscule present would light Riley’s eyes up. Leading Lindsey to the toy shop- she thought this was some kind of joke.
“You do know she’s 24? Not 2.” Lindsey looked bewildered at him, whilst he laughed shaking his head.
“So, when bastien and my mom explained that we came to your parents house when we were younger. I apparently hurt her doll. It may sound stupid, but I thought it was a bit sentimental. I can’t remember what kind of doll it was so i was hoping you’d remember.” He prayed that she would think it was a sweet idea, and not laugh in his face. That sort of rejection would stab him in the heart. Riley appreciated the last sentimental gesture he did, so hoped he could do it again.
“You’re so damn cute. You know that? It was just a bog standard doll, I never understood why she loved it so much. And you actually fucked up the dolls leg. She never forgave you for it. When you guys left she said and I quote ‘I don’t like that big boy.’ We had two full days of tantrums, until my father replaced it. She was definitely a daddy’s girl- had him wrapped around her little finger. This one looked like the one she had.” She pointed to the doll, Drake looked at it with a scowl on his face- Lindsey was right, there was nothing special about it. It wasn’t as if it was a special edition Barbie doll.
“I didn’t like that little girl either. Who would have thought that fate would make us fall in love.” Lindsey noticed a slight blush on his face, she knew he had it bad. Was it possible to fall in love in a matter of days? She wasn’t sure, but seeing her sister and Drake look at each other she had a feeling that they would have a great future together.
“Have you already said those three words?”
“Not quite. She said she was falling for me and that she knew it was too early, but I feel the same. I was a jerk to her at first, but seeing her that first night I had to follow her on to the balcony. Her smile lit up the room.”
“You know you had a girlfriend at the time you made a move on my sister. It’s all very touching that you love each other- but Drake.. if you hurt her I will kill you.” Drake shuddered at the thought of what she would do to him, if he ever upset Riley. He wasn’t intending to, but the thought still crossed his mind. The way Lindsey’s facial expression changed from a teasing smile to dagger eyes - he dread to think what she would do if Leo was ever going to be in the doghouse.
“I’m not going to hurt her Linz. You have my word. Come on, I have to get her a proper present.”
******
Riley made her way to the stadium, Constantine had rung her demanding for an urgent meeting. She text Lindsey informing her that she wasn’t sure what time she would be back home.
“Come in Riley.” Gulping, she didn’t know what to expect. Now assuming it was just a meeting between him and her as he knew who it was at the door.
“Sorry for this impromptu meeting. I want a word with you before we meet the others.” Sliding his phone over to her, he laid back in his chair- his fingers resting on his lips waiting for a response. Looking down at the phone. there was an article on it- her eyes widened shit.
The Apples injured player, Drake Walker gets cosy and intimate with the teams new physio, Riley Brooks. A source explains that Mr Walker has only just recently split up with his ex girlfriend. Will a scandal like this cause trouble for the team?
“Can you explain your relationship with Walker to me?”
“You know about our kiss. Neither of us expected it to go any further- it just happened.”
“Have either of you considered how Kiara and Xavier may feel about this?”
“Who the fuck do you think you are criticising me? You’re fucking Kiara- and myself and Xavier are technically separated - soon to be divorced. But don’t worry I will be civil with him for the rest of the season.”
“My relationship with Kiara and Madeleine is no secret Miss Brooks. Your husband still loves you- and is hurt. He has had counselling and is a changed man.”
“How do you know that he is apparently a changed man? You don’t know him!”
“I just have that feeling. Come on we are going to be late.”
*******
Walking down the hallway, they entered the room where Regina, Liam, Leo and Xavier were sat. The two brothers gave Xavier daggers. The estranged husband stood up and greeted Riley, kissing her on her cheek- she couldn’t react quick enough. He made her skin crawl.
“Hola mi bella esposa.”
“Joder a mi marido gilipollas”
Liam and Leo wondered what they had said, they didn’t know Spanish. Riley forced herself to sit between the two of them- face like thunder. Seeing the two brothers bewildered expressions, it was time to teach them a bit of Spanish.
“He said, ‘hello my beautiful wife’ and I responded telling him to fuck off and that he was an arsehole. Why are we here?”
“I’m glad you asked Riley.” Constantine overheard her talking to his sons. “Leo, Liam. Xavier isn’t only just the teams new manager, he’s....”
“Our brother.” They both said in unison, Riley looked as if she was about to faint.
“How do you know? Well that saves all the awkwardness.”
Riley shook her head, in astonishment. Anything could happen in this country- what was going to happen next? She was just glad she had eyes for Drake and not the two brothers- her brothers in laws. The meal was silent, Xavier and Constantine chatted making small talk. Riley spun the same strand of spaghetti on her fork in a trance, needed to ignore the fact that she was trapped in this ‘family meal. Liam and Leo were ready to commit murder- quite literally. The way their father was acting around Xavier was sickening. Both staring at Riley, she was vacant and still as if she was under a spell.
“Riley?” Liam whispered.
“Ri. Speak to us. We can leave.” Leo also whispered. She was mute.
“Your wedding was beautiful. Riley looked absolutely breathtaking.” Snapping her head up, she thought she had imagined what had just been said.
“How do you know about my wedding? And what I looked like? Have you been googling me?”
“No. I was there. In the shadows of course- we couldn’t cause a scandal.”
“I wanted to tell you baby.” Riley’s body began trembling. Punching the table as she stood up abruptly- Liam and Leo became concerned and considered dragging her out kicking and screaming. They didn’t want to be there either.
“Don’t ever fucking call me that! You never told me a damn thing during our marriage! I had to find out every dirty little secret through the press when my face was plastered all over the Sun and Daily Mirror.”
“I’m a changed man. I love you.” Leo stood next to her as she began crying uncontrollably.
“You will never change.” She barely said, feeling like she was hyperventilating.
“I asked for you to have Saturday off- relax on your birthday. I still think about you and I love you.”
“Shut the fuck up! You don’t know anything about love. Oh you give a shit about my birthday- tell me something darling, what happened around my last birthday?” Xavier looked confused at his wife who strolled up to him. Grabbing his collar in her fists, scowling at him- anger had built up, she had an adrenaline rush- she wasn’t scared of him anymore and could defend herself. He had counselling, she had self defence classes.
“Oh let me remind you! I spent my last birthday at some charity event. The day after, you was supposed to take me out, instead I was having the shit beat out of me by you. Then that night I was rushed to hospital, with my sister by my side afterwards- she came from fucking New York on the first flight! Where was you? Fucking your ex teammates wife! What was I doing? Giving birth to our son who you killed! Holding him whilst he wasn’t breathing, having his footprints on a piece of paper is the only memory I have of him.”
It was Riley’s birthday weekend, Xavier had decided to treat his wife to a classy meal - a way to make up to for his atrocious past behaviour.
“Who are the flowers and gifts from?”
“The club. They are lovely aren’t they?” She said as she smelt the sweet aroma.
“Who the fuck do they think they are sending you gifts? You are my wife. You only need gifts from me.” Holding her tightly he warned her to not accept gifts from anyone but him. Reverting his gaze to the gifts- he threw them off the table. Seeing him full of anger, shaking he stormed over towards her- after that was a blur for Riley. The room was spinning, she had been unconscious for only a few minutes. Standing up, she noticed the puddle of blood surrounding her- the blood dripping from her nose but also down her legs.
Linz I’m losing the baby. He did it again. I’m bleeding.
I’m getting the next flight. You’re not losing him. Don’t worry. Please leave him and come back with me. I’ll be there ASAP. I love you so much xxx
Riley was surrounded by the noise of new born babies, she had given birth all alone. She was fed up with everyone apologising. Holding her baby that had died, she didn’t want to let him go. The midwife handed her a picture of her son’s footprints. Lindsey arrived a few hours later, dealing with the press- she was going to look out for her baby sister. Grieving together- Riley felt like she couldn’t live herself. She was empty. Upset. Angry. Feeling guilty that she couldn’t protect her child.
“Baby, I’m so sorry. We can try again. Our marriage and to have a baby.”
“You’re a fucking moron! If I ever get pregnant again it’ll be a miracle and it won’t be with you. Sign the goddamn papers Xavier. I am done with you! Excuse me, I’ll see you all at training tomorrow.” Swiftly exiting out the room, she began to shake. Getting in her car she didn’t know where she was heading.
*******
Liam and Leo were furious with Xavier and their father- you can choose your friends but not family. They both immediately went to Riley’s apartment, they wanted her to know that she had people on her side. There was no response. They assumed that she would have gone to Drake- arriving at his cabin, they explained what had happened. Drake was furious- trying to contact her himself he couldn’t get through. The three men went to Liam’s house, if anyone knew where she would have gone it would be Lindsey. Lindsey and Olivia got on like a house on fire- waiting for the men to arrive back, they was shocked seeing the stray following them in.
“Lindsey have you heard from Riley?” Lindsey looked concerned, the brothers explained what had happened.
“That fucking bastard. I’m going to kill him.”
“I’ve got some daggers you can lend” Liam’s eyes widened at her comment- she just laughed as he shook his head.
“I’ll use my fists, us New Yorkers aren’t afraid. Are there any churches around here?” They all thought she was pulling their legs, she noticed them all laughing but she was frustrated as she was being sincere and serious.
“I’m being serious. She always goes and prays around this time of the year. Lights a candle for her son. I think she will have gone to find a church. Or....”
“Or?” They all said in unison.
“She’s gone home to Manchester.”

Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster Part 4 - Chapter 5, Ending and Overall Impressions
Tumblr media
I found it so funny when the commsphere Shinra dumped into the hole to the Farplane was fixed by Gippal and he asked Nooj what he’s gonna do about Leblanc since they’re risking their lives there to save Baralai from Shuyin and Vegnagun, and right when Nooj answers, the connection dies, so Leblanc doesn’t get to hear it hahahaha. Good thing is that Leblanc is a straightforward person though, so even if she didn’t get to hear it, then she’ll just go straight to the Farplane to ask him, gotta admire her spirit and her love for him! Hilarious when Brother was talking about his love for the Yuna that keeps facing forward and doesn’t mind that his feelings will never be reciprocated and then tells Barkeep that they’re cool bachelors and then Barkeep is like “Speak for yourself, sonny” in his Hypello way hahahhaha and then a female Hypello comes along LOL. Funniest thing was if you talk to Paine, she’s like, I think I saw two Barkeeps, then she thinks she needs more sleep hahahaha! Buddy talking about how he and Brother formed the Gullwings when they went all the way north to some ice place to find the Celsius (airship) and ended up being guided by a gull and also surviving by eating a gull too LOLL, I guess the gull sacrificed itself for a good cause, because without it, they wouldn’t have formed the Gullwings and then Yuna wouldn’t have joined and saved the world once again haha.
Visiting Zanarkand first since there was apparently a bug in the original game where you might not get the episode complete if you came here last, that would suck! Anyway, not surprised Maechen was an unsent considering him always popping up anywhere he wanted and knowing so many things, I wonder how it feels to live for 1000 years just to tell stories of the past to people and experience so many things. It’s crazy to think how important that handshake was in the beginning of the game, since he was actually the one in that sphere recording who was so happy to have been able to shake Lenne’s hand 1000 years ago! And now that he shook Yuna’s hand, it reminded him of the fact that he’s actually already dead. Glad to know he had a happy long life.
(I don’t know what I did wrong but I don’t think I’m getting 100% and at this point in time, I honestly don’t care anymore because I’ve spent more time being frustrated than playing this game so whatever lol) I still don’t like Beclem btw, so I don’t really care that he’s leaving Besaid lol, the only thing I agree with is that they really do need to work the Besaid Aurochs to the bone! They’re pretty bad lmao. Wakka thinking carefully about what he should name his son was nice, a name is very important, so I think taking your time is good, I’m glad Lulu really wanted him to be the one to name him. I’m surprised Wakka doesn’t think Lulu relies on him at all, like dude! She’s ready to have a baby with you, I doubt she’d do that if she didn’t think you were reliable at all! Have more confidence in yourself, Wakka! I guess everyone is getting back together, lol at Dona having practised her lines so many times for trying to get Barthello back to live with her, since he’s been at Kilika temple all this time as a New Yevon supporter. Your beliefs are important, but so is your partner, so it’s good that everyone has stopped fighting and people can come together again regardless of their beliefs, it’s about time they stopped fighting and whining lol.
Lolll at Rikku being the culprit for the hover crash at Mi'ihen highroad hahahaha! She legit didn’t even notice that the hover crashed because it was trying to dodge her and when she jumped down a ledge, she fell on a machina and that’s why it went crazy lol. She caused so much trouble on the highroad without even realising lolll. Guess it’s good that Rin only made her clean all the rubbish on the road haha. Luca…was really just Yuna walking around reminiscing the memories of spending time with Tidus here, which is nostalgic and nice. Who doesn’t miss Tidus? XD It was kinda cool that we got to fight Lucil, always thought she was pretty cool, I liked her speech and think that she’s a very strong and worthy leader. She knows how to unite and lead people. Even without Nooj, you can tell that the Youth League will be fine with her there.
That Djose machine experiment was very interesting, don’t wanna dig to repair and make it stronger though😢 Lmao at Tobli’s success now when he was in so much debt before, I guess Yuna’s influence can just make everything go well lol. Having Tromell lead the Guado is the best choice. Considering all that the Guado had done and all the reflection they’ve gone through most of the game, with the Ronsos looking forward instead of back as well, it’s for the best that we let go of the past and hope to improve the future instead. I feel like Cid had a very crappy role in this game lol, I liked him in FFX so I’m kinda disappointed that his character is rather…questionable now with the things he did to Zanarkand and not really playing a role to redeem all that. Seeing O'aka and Wantz bond again and take care of the Macalania agency together was heartwarming though, nice to see that these brothers are still doing well and are hopeful for the future!
After finding all the cactuars (lmao at the tenth one being with the “wrong crowd” aka the rogue cactuars that don’t want to fulfill their duties) and lolll, never thought I’d see a Jumbo Cactuar! Easy fight but nice to see it lol. If only it had a moustache hahaha. That boss you have to kill afterwards though, he had so much life! Luckily it was a simple fight and I earned so much AP from it lol. Legit just used two Dark Knights using the darkness skill alongside Yuna Curaga-ing haha, all I did was hold the ‘x’ button to win XD Good to see everyone respect Kimahri again and understand that he’s wise and caring. It’s nice to see that Yuna doesn’t need Kimahri to protect her anymore, so he can now protect his tribe, and although things were a bit rocky, it all worked out! Now on to some annoying sidequests! Accessing the secret chocobo ranch dungeon was easily the most tiring and annoying thing ever. It was SO time consuming. I spent so long looking and capturing chocobos in the Thunder Plains to get 4 that had a max level of 5 zzzz. Then, I had to level them and fight 7 random battles in between until they were all level 5 AND THEN the dungeon itself was annoying because it doesn’t have a map omg. I just googled a map because I couldn’t take it lol. The only good thing about it was getting the AP egg so now one of my characters can earn triple the AP yay! Otherwise, legit so tired lol. Especially since I did the Mi'ihen dungeon as well with all the wall bombing to proceed zzz.
Anyway, things just get more tedious. Was digging at the Central Expanse for the Desert key and to upgrade the machine experiment in Djose and gg, could not find the key at all so I gave up lol. I tried to fight the machine without being properly prepared using my crappy dresspheres and I died hahahaah. I learnt my lesson XD Needed the last two crimson spheres so went to the Via Infinito and dang am I getting motion sickness with all that jumping. My head hurts so much lol. Think I need to level and use my mascot dresspheres though, the elder drake kills me hahaha. Btw, the mascot dresspheres are so cute lmao, Yuna as a moogle, Rikku as a Cait Sith and Paine as a Tonberry is hilarious to look at, I’m going to enjoy using them in battle hahaha. Really cute to see Paine opening up and show her feelings and how much she appreciates Yuna and Rikku being her friends and trying their best to talk to her, it was a funny but nice scene. I never knew/remembered that when Yuna uses the warrior dressphere, her sword is the Brotherhood! That’s so sweet to see!
Kinda surprised that when you go to the Den of Woe, they figure out that Shuyin was the one controlling Nooj and that’s why he shot Paine, Baralai and Gippal when they escaped two years ago, and that now Shuyin is in Baralai’s body. Thought they established that already and that the den made people crazy because of his extreme depression and feelings of having to relive Lenne’s death with the pyreflies since they practically replay strong memories. Anyway, that’s done and dusted so time to finish levelling and go through the Via Infinito? XD Annnnd I gave up on the Via Infinito lol! Got to like level 60 (I think) but I cbb with the way stats work in this game and how you can’t max it etc, so you’re reliant on garment grids, switching dresspheres to get the most benefits such as going past 9999 HP and damage and the accessories, and the tower itself was tedious (and motion sickness inducing LOL, why am I weak) and you don’t even get much out of it (after defeating Penance in FFX and feeling no sense of accomplishment, it’s just so not worth my time lol), so yeah I can’t be bothered😬 Aaaand I spent so much time getting most dresspheres to 100%, I’m tired😖 And lol my characters are like level 99 or close to there because I was so tired of levelling myself….so I kinda cheated and stuck a rubber band on the analog stick to move it to the left and another rubber band with a battery on it to stay on the x button and voila! DIY levelling machine lmao. I just threw Yuna at the Thunder Plains and made someone constantly heal and the rest use skills to max the (annoying) Mascot dresspheres and others lol, yay.
Anyway, Vegnagun! Yes, Leblanc never was the type to just wait there quietly for Nooj to come back haha. And yes, Vegnagun is a machina created by humans so technically, it should be possible to be destroyed without it killing everyone in Spira. But anyway, the best thing was Yuna’s speech to everyone when Nooj suggested to sacrifice himself to kill Vegnagun and Shuyin. I was touched with her words tbh, because she’s right, it was so difficult to see all the fayth die in FFX because they had “no choice” and that they had to “accept” that this is what they had to do, and Yuna did accept it and do it, but in the end, she’s only left with regret, pain and the loss of people that should be beside her that aren’t. They need to stop sacrificing people in order to win, because it’s not really a win when you lose so many before it. And although it’s cheesy to have everyone combine their powers to take down each part of Vegnagun, it’s very sweet too because it feels like the spirit of the game, and it feels like we should get to finally have a happy ending. So weird to see Shuyin use all of Tidus’ skills but just with another name lmao. And as expected, Lenne comes out of the dressphere (pretty much) and so Shuyin finally gets to talk to her properly and fade together with her and rest in peace😊
And omggg the fayth appeared and asked Yuna at the flower field/farplane whether she really wants to see Tidus again! Guess I got 100% completion??? (Edit: I got 99% zzzz) I’m happy that New Yevon (Baralai), Youth League (Nooj) and the Machine Faction (Gippal) can finally unite together and understand that they’re all a part of Spira and really don’t need to fight, although I do think that the fighting between them was rather awkward? They had differing perspectives but they resulted in physical fighting and kinda like war so prematurely without really thinking about it, you really can’t blame Shuyin for being pissed that Spira is still like how it was 1000 years ago lol. Anyway, everyone’s happy now so yay. Yuna really did have another long journey in this game to save the world, so she really should and deserves to go back home to Besaid. Always great to see Yuna and Tidus get to reunite at Besaid just like how he first came about, and to reunite with everyone at Besaid too! That’s where they can both truly call home so yeah that was nice. I YouTubed the perfect ending scenes and yeah, I prefer the normal more, I don’t think it was necessary lol.
Overall, I still have mixed feelings over FFX-2. On one hand, it was nice to see Spira after the Calm and the problems that come with that alongside a new Yuna that has lost the chains of responsibility with the happy Rikku and stoic Paine that has a background that unfolds alongside the plot of this game, and just see them go on pretty carefree adventures and have fun. On the other hand, I wasn’t really a fan of the garment grids or the dresspheres but it was still okay, but I guess it just felt like since it’s supposed to be more of a fan service game, I should have enjoyed it more? But instead I thought it was kinda boring? And the 100% completion attempt (that failed) killed me lol. I guess the story wasn’t very appealing, it’s good that it was light hearted and it was fun to follow the girls around and see their perspective of things, but I guess it lacked the fun and adventure that a lot of games have, instead it was kinda just like a short story about nothing that wanted to talk about something (saving the world again) when the only thing that really resonated with me was the last bit with Yuna when she said she had enough of people sacrificing themselves for peace. Basically, all right game but not very satisfying if you wanted something more from FFX (until you see Tidus at the end I guess) and not very interesting as a standalone imo.

Batwoman, Wonder Woman: Legacy
Chapter Three - Sharing Secrets
Batwoman arrived in front of the Gotham museum a few minutes after the police. She knew that Diana most likely solved the problem but she really wanted to see the goddess again; even though this time, Wonder Woman would hopefully not recognize her. The loud engine of a black and red Ducati roared and the noise attracted the attention of civilians standing outside. Kate looked around, carefully assessing every detail around. She saw Diana standing near one of the police officers and then jumping away surprisingly fast. The bewilderment on Amazon’s face was hard to miss.
Tumblr media
Batwoman’s arrival started causing more and more unwanted commotion from the civilians. Kate jumped off of the bike and without hesitation followed Diana up to the roof. As she was getting closer to the edge of the building, the grappling hook wobbled more and more. The redhead was used to the feeling that it would break and she knew she would be forced to use her cape to fly back down to the street however doing that in front of the Wonder Woman would probably not be that impressive. She tried to reach the roof with her hand but before she could the rope broke and a loud thud followed as the hook fell down to the ground with a few pieces of bricks. Kate eventually pulled herself up and landed on her feet. Unfortunately Diana was already staring in her direction, clearly fighting the urge to chuckle. Batwoman cleared her throat, took a deep breath and proceeded to walk towards the other heroine.
“I expected Batman to show up.” The Amazon started the conversation, failing to hide the spark of interest in her eyes as she took in Kate’s appearance. “Am I not enough?” The Bat joked back, one hand resting on her hips. Kate was feeling more confident hidden behind the bat-shaped mask, plus she didn’t miss the sparkle in Diana’s eyes, it was easy to use that to her advantage. Batwoman’s suit was completely copying her toned body, making her muscles visible at all the right places. Since she was aware of that, Kate continued to innocently flex and Diana continued to enjoy the view for a while. “Hard to say after that landing…” Her voice was merely above whisper but it was enough to snap them both out of the moment. “I...uh…” Kate clenched her jaw, trying to change the topic, “What did the cop want?” “Hm?” “Saw you talking with an officer Grogan...then jumping to the roof right away...did he say something?” The redhead explained and patiently waited for the answer. “Oh this guy…” Wonder Woman laughed, her laughter was different than at the gala, not as much energetic as before, “Let’s just say that...he could learn how to be more thankful.” “He’s a dick.” Kate growled and leaned back on the small wall decorating the edge of the roof. “That’s not very nice…” Soft chuckle escaped past Amazon’s lips, she didn’t try to contain it this time. “And why the quick escape? Did he scare you with the rudeness?” “That’s why I was hoping for Batman…” “Ouch…” Kate repeated Diana’s gesture from this morning and discreetly stared at her, hoping to get any kind of reaction, “So I am not enough.” “Nothing against you...I worked with him a couple of times and we...well...we make a good team.” She answered with a grin on her face, clearly remembering the times with Bruce. “Ah.” Batwoman leaped up on the wall, ignoring the sting of jealousy in her chest, “Sorry to disappoint you but he had to leave...unfinished business.” “Would you be willing to help?” Diana tilted her head to the side, her gaze not leaving Kate’s face. “I wouldn’t want to make it harder for you.” The bat retorted. She caught the sight of amused brown eyes following her every movement. “Clock tower, in an hour.” With that, she jumped off the roof and left the Amazon alone.
Kate crashed into the couch in the middle of the clock tower hideout with a long whine. It was hard enough to deal with all the villains, now she had to deal with Wonder Woman and most importantly her uncontrollable desire to be near the goddess for as long as she could; the headaches didn’t help. She stretched her neck, hoping to relieve the numb pain. Sound of an approaching wheelchair pulled her out of her thoughts.
“Still having those headaches?” a strong voice cut through the sudden silence in the room. “Mhmm.” The redhead scoffed. She tilted her head forward and opened her eyes. Oracle was sitting right in front of her. Kate was often wondering how Barbara Gordon was dealing so well with not being able to be Batgirl anymore. It was hard for her to imagine that she could end up in a wheelchair. Batwoman was a huge part of Kate’s identity, no matter how hard she tried to keep her secret life separate. She admired Barbara for not giving up, for becoming the Oracle and continuing to help the bat family. “Why are you staring at me?” Barbara shifted a little uncomfortable under Kate’s gaze. “I was just...how are you handling that?” She blurted out without thinking. “The wheelchair? That’s easy, you just-” “Idiot…” Batwoman frowned, she was glad that her friend was able to make jokes even after the incident with Joker but it was hard not to be angry, when she had no way of helping her. “Come on, Kate…” Oracle chuckled, “There is no point to dwell on past.” “Huh, I guess that’s true.”
“Of course it is, how would that help?” Both women were startled by Robin entering the room. “How long have you been listening?” Barbara asked and moved towards Tim. “Long enough to know that Kate actually has a heart.” His witty retort was accompanied by loud growl coming from the sofa, “Am I wrong? Did Diana steal it already?” “I...what?” The redhead jumped up and failed to hide the blush creeping up her face. “She’s going to deny it...watch.” Barb leaned back and let her boyfriend give her a soft kiss. “Well...aren’t you two the sweetest.” Kate mocked them and started pacing along the giant clock in the wall. “So?” Tim encouraged her to continue; He knew that Batman wasn’t coming back to Gotham anytime soon, so the city could use another hero around, especially if it would be Wonder Woman. “You can ask her…she should be here soon.” “What? She is coming here?” Barbara’s face lit up, it was obvious that she would jump with joy if she could. “She needed help with something. She asked for Bruce...but yeah, guess we’ll have to do.”   “You don’t sound really happy about it. Did you...tell her?” Robin asked, even though he knew the answer. Kate would never reveal your identity like this. “I don’t like being compared. Especially by someone who doesn’t know...anything.” Her voice sounded more angry than usual.
Everyone stayed quiet for a couple of minutes. They all knew how it felt like, being compared to Batman. Although it was one of the few things no one liked, they never doubted that Bruce could defeat them all; and that was a reason for all the comparisons.
“But...she is still coming right?” Oracle asked, barely hiding the excitement. “I guess…” “Kate...from what you said earlier...it looks like she enjoyed your company.” Tim tried to make her less worried, “I’m pretty sure that she’ll enjoy working with Batwoman too.” “I don’t really care.” Kate barked out. Diana managed to hit a sore spot, although it probably wasn’t on purpose, it didn’t really matter to the redhead right now.
Before Tim could continue, Wonder Woman landed in the middle of the room. A cloud of dust flew off the floor followed by a loud creak of wood. Barbara gulped audibly, staring at the heroine with her mouth open. Robin straightened up and smiled. The Amazon didn’t look a day older since he saw her the last time. Kate didn’t react, she continued looking out into the Gotham city with a small pout on her face.
“Is this a bad time?” Diana asked, her eyes glued to the Batwoman’s silhouette. “No, not for us. Just ignore her.” Barb didn’t hesitate to answer, smirking. “Your previous conversation just...wasn’t the best?” The redhead scoffed at his explanation. “Tim Drake.” The Amazon jumped next to Robin and gave him a brief hug. “Good to see you again, Diana.” The hug was interrupted by the noise of Barbara clearing her throat, “Right...this is my girlfriend, Barbara Gordon.” “The famous Oracle?” The hero offered her a hand and she gladly shook it, not saying a word. Clearly it was hard for her to believe that Wonder Woman knew who she was. Even though Bruce always appreciated the work that Barb did, she never thought that he would talk about her with other heroes. “So what do you need help with?” Tim was eager to hear the explanation of the unexpected visit. Diana looked back at Batwoman who was still successfully ignoring her. “Just give me a minute?” “Sure.” The couple nodded and moved over to the computers on the other side of the room.
She stood silently, watching the Gotham hero. Her mind wandered to the previous events of the day; her training with Kate Kane. She judged her way too early and then ended up speechless when the redhead revealed her skills. There was a strong possibility that she made the same mistake twice in one day, which was pretty unusual for her. Mankind couldn’t compare her to the rest of the Amazons, they never got a chance to see them. Compared to the other superheroes, Diana was still literally a goddess. Yet it wasn’t hard for her to empathize. Batwoman had to be compared to Batman every other day and the fact that she joked about it didn’t exactly start their friendship off in the best way. Now, she had to put Wonder Woman aside for couple of minutes and figure out the right approach to save the situation. It definitely wasn’t her intention to insult anyone from the bat family; especially not another female superhero. As an Amazon, she had enormous respect for any woman in this kind of work. After few long steps, Diana ended up standing right behind Batwoman. It was impossible to not notice the small shudder running down the redhead’s spine. This happened almost everytime, no matter if she was close to a man or woman. She could call it one of the biggest weaknesses for humans, not being able to control their body responses at all times.
“Planning on joining us?” Diana kept her voice down, hoping that they could solve this in private; sort of. “I can hear very well from here.” The Bat answered calmly, her heart rate spiking up. Kate was aware of the mess she was becoming in her presence. “About before…” “Don’t worry about it.” She turned around, facing the goddess, suddenly very thankful for the mask she was wearing. “I didn’t....but looks like you are more than I thought.” The Amazon was absolutely honest, as always. “It’s just-” “Annoying?” “I know that he is the best.” Kate exhaled, “But I’m really-” “You are really trying?” “Did you pick up habit of interrupting people?” The only answer she got for her question was a friendly smirk on Diana’s face, “Anyway yeah, not like you ever had to prove yourself, huh?” “Maybe we are not that different.” It was supposed to be a rhetorical question but apparently this time, it was Batwoman hitting on something from the past of the other woman, “Back at Themyscira, my mother never thought that I was good enough to be the emissary for the Amazons. Half of my life there was about proving that I am worthy of going to the outside world.” “Oh,” Kate’s gaze dropped to the floor when she realized how stupid it was to assume that she knows anything about their guest, “Sorry. I-I didn’t know.” “I’d be surprised if you would.” Diana waved her hand and chuckled, “Not a common knowledge.” “So are we sharing secrets now?” “Would you like to share one?” The goddess raised her eyebrows, one of her fingers copying the edge of Batwoman’s mask. “I-Uh-I-No.” The redhead’s eyes flew wide open at the implication. She was not ready to share her identity with Diana. She enjoyed her time with the Amazon as Kate that much that she was definitely not ready to risk it. Although it was obvious that Wonder Woman would not judge her for being a hero it could change the relationship that she currently had with Kate Kane forever. “Alright…” She removed her hand from the mask and took a step back. “So...uh...what made you jump on that museum roof?” “Klarion.” Diana walked back towards Barbara and Tim, saying only one word like it would explain everything. “The Witch Boy? In Gotham?” Fortunately, Oracle picked up on the hint right away. “I think he’s trying to get the artifacts to-” “Summon the demons…” Barb finished and turned back to the computer, immediately trying to locate Klarion. “Demons?” Robin smirked. “Demons Three…” Batwoman whispered, “Faust wanted to summon them into the world once but he didn’t have the magic items..” “Yes and the Green Bell of Uthool is in Gotham. Same as Felix Faust.” The Amazon smiled, impressed by the Bat’s knowledge, she already knew that they would work well together. “The other two items?” Barbara asked without moving her eyes away from the computer screens. “Still in their places. I checked.” Wonder Woman assured them, “And Faust is still in prison.” “Could Klarion be the mysterious criminal?” Robin turned around to face Kate. “Is it possible that he talked to Faust before you got to him?” The redhead ignored his question, clearly more worried about how powerful Klarion would become with the power of the demons three. “Yes.” Diana nodded, “Although I don’t think you’ll be able to trace him with your technology.” “If he is the new villain or has something to do with it...we could just follow the crime scenes?” Tim tried again, this time they acknowledged his theory. “I can keep an eye on all police calls, let you know when something will pop up?” Barbara offered. “That is a good idea...and we can go out tonight.” The goddess cautiously looked at Batwoman, still not sure if they cleared the air after the previous conversation. “O-out?” Kate stammered out a little confused. “To search the city.” “Right…” “What about me?” Robin jumped in, feeling left out from the plan. “You stay here and guard the lunch box.” Kate smirked. Diana’s energetic laugh echoed through the clock tower and the atmosphere in the room suddenly didn’t feel so heavy. “B-But...Robins are good luck?” “Then you better stay here and share the luck with me.” Barbara giggled and pulled him closer towards her.

A Simple Touch - Drake x MC, A Royal Romance Fanfic
[A little note: Well I did it Maggie @maggiegames. After our conversation, sometime later I tried to write this scene the way I think MC might’ve perceived it  in I hope greater details  since there wasn’t much time for that in this week’s chapter. This is short and mostly just a drabble of thoughts with some dialogue from the chapter. Hope you like it! ]
Hana was the only one that had good enough sense to bring sunscreen.
Something she didn’t think of while in her quick haste to meet everyone by the beach. Her thoughts had been focused on other things. Things, she probably shouldn’t have been thinking of.
She remembered Maxwell’s advice earlier in the afternoon; it was supposed to be a fun day - a day spent relaxing, and the civil unrest between suitors were at a standstill. A ceasefire until the next event.
Nevertheless fun, wasn’t exactly the first word that came to mind when she thought of him. His scowl was usually the first thing. Then his teasing remarks he directed at Hana and usually at the earliest opportunity. Most of the time, it was over something only the two of them bonded over; trivial and mundane which left Hana often at a loss and unequipped in dealing with his sarcasm.
She felt the corner of her lips turn at the thought. Drake and Hana were the closest thing she had as friends in such an intimidating place. She was quickly learning that Cordonia wasn’t for the faint of heart. One misstep could easily cause a scandal. Maxwell had been essential for curbing her knowledge of Cordonian customs, but without Drake and Hana; she wouldn’t have any peace of mind. She didn’t have to be anything more than what she was with them. However, she frowned thinly when she realized her thoughts faltered on Drake again. Not Hana, Maxwell - nor even Liam. Drake.
It was the third time today that her mind had drifted back to him. And three times were already too many. Immediately, she cursed herself for it. Shaking her head, she tried to shove him to the furthest part of her mind - somewhere she couldn’t reach without trying. Besides, he wasn’t supposed to be the person she should be thinking of.
And she certainly shouldn’t be so excited at the thought of seeing him again. He didn’t mean anything to her. Maybe an acquaintance. A friend. A lover- this was the fourth time he refused to leave her thoughts.
“Who’s going first?” Hana interrupted.
She hadn’t realized she was staring blankly at her friend, until Hana began wiggling the bottle of sunscreen at her.
Drake didn’t respond. He hadn’t said much after they ate. His gaze was ahead, and seemed more interested in the ocean than paying them much attention. His eyes hadn’t even flickered over her for longer than a few seconds before looking away again.
It was maddeningly frustrating as it was intriguing. She didn’t know why she wanted him to notice her so much; but every dismissive glance only seemed to fuel her resolve. Why did it matter to her? Why couldn’t she get him out of her head? She was in a competition for winning the prince’s his heart, and yet her thoughts always lead back to Drake. Liam was nowhere to be found inside her mind.
Intending to prove a point, she took the bottle from Hana with a mumble of thanks. “Here, I’ll do you.” She said abruptly, turning to Drake just in time to see his eyes swerve towards her. She watched in satisfaction the sudden flicker of surprise in his usually distant expression.
Hana’s own eyes seemed to follow suit as she looked in between them.
Seemingly recovered, Drake shook his head at her then gestured to Hana. “This really doesn’t seem necessary.” His tone changed. It was terse, strained.
She rolled her eyes. “Sun safety is no joke.” He looked as if he was ready to object but before he could, she interjected. “Look grumpypants - you see that big ball of sun right there?” She gestures up to the sky with her free hand. “That’s going to leave angry marks all over your skin that’ll hurt by tomorrow morning.”
His jaw visibly clenched, until he finally acquiesced. “Fine.” He muttered gruffly.
“You’ll thank me later.” She replied grinning triumphantly as he turned around.
He was toned as far as her eyes could travel.
She took a moment to admire the smooth planes of his shoulders, the way he seemed to have muscle in all the right places. Shaking her head, she finally stepped close enough to apply the cool substance to his shoulders first. Then his upper back soon followed, until her soft hands began roaming lower and kneaded the lotion into his flesh.
She nearly hummed in appreciation as his muscles flexed beneath her fingertips. Damn, Drake’s in such good shape. She thought to herself. Her hands began moving in circular motions, and seemed to echo her sentiment as they idly rubbed the similar spots far longer than they probably should. She never pegged him as that type and yet she was never so happy to be proven wrong as much as she was right now.
She could feel his muscles loosen and relax at her touch. She couldn’t help but think about what it would feel like to be pressed up against him - skin on skin, with muscles she could marvel at. A fleeting thought that had nearly vanished as quickly as it appeared.
But the thought had made her grip loosen and suddenly clumsy. She nearly dropped the bottle in her hasty attempt to recover.
“Everything okay back there?”
She hadn’t realized her sudden fixation was transparent. Her shoulders stiffed at the sound of his voice. She had been so preoccupied that her hands had been repeatedly rubbing the same spot. “Is the lady satisfied?” Heat suddenly scalded her cheeks at the idea of being caught admiring him. She was supposed to be proving a point here - not the other way around. “Yup, you’re all covered.” She muttered, casually stepping back.
She ignored the stab of disappoint she felt when he glanced back at her. There was nothing in her quick study of his expression that indicated it had any affect on him. That she had any affect on him. Her disappointment had quickly turned to hurt until she felt a flare of anger. She focused on that instead.
She narrowed her eyes at him. “Put some on your face, or you’ll burn there.” Frustrated ebbed away at her. What would it take for her to break that cool mask of his? She wondered, as she searched his eyes. What would it take for her to get under his skin?
The next words out of his mouth made her blink twice. It made her stare up at him in confusion had her stomach dipped when she replayed his words inside her head. “Then you probably want me to put some on your back.” He said coolly.
She studied him. Nothing faltered. Nothing changed. The only thing difference was the sudden flash of amusement in his eyes; as if he thought of her subtle advances as silly.
Just what kind of game are you playing here, Drake?
There were a rare few moments when staring up into those dark eyes - she would had given anything to know what he was thinking. And this was one of those times. She shifted on her feet, and forced her shoulders to relax. She wasn’t going to back down; she was competitive by nature and so she met his gaze with a grin. If he wanted to play her game - then so be it. She intended to win. She always did. “Actually yes, I do.”
He hesitated and she watched in satisfaction as the small pieces of his armor wavered right in front of her. His indecision spoke volumes for their little game and she wondered coolly if he would admit defeat and ask Hana instead.
She watched as his cool mask slowly crumbled. He dragged a hand through his hair as she handed him the bottle. “You’re killing me, Riley.” He said through gritted teeth.
Good. He really hadn’t seen anything yet and it was about time he was on the receiving end of how he made her felt. How the uneasiness and butterflies lingered whenever he was close enough for her to touch. And touching him even in this way hadn’t been enough for her. Her hands itched to reach out again and she tucked them by her side in order stop herself. She wasn’t quite sure who would win their little game. And she didn’t want to be on the receiving end if she overstepped.
She ignored his sudden smirk and thought better of it. Whirling around, she offered her back and brought her hair to one side. “Better get to it then.”
His touch was not what she had expected. For hands that appeared so coarse, they were gentle on her skin. Soft, as if he knew that was exactly what she needed after a week of competing with other suitors. She closed her eyes briefly and bit back the sudden sigh of pleasure she felt building. It was as if his smooth hands had been made for this; soothing every knot until she felt putty inside his hands. He knew exactly where to touch and she leaned into him without thinking.
It was over all too quickly by the time she finally felt his hands leave her skin. As he stepped away, she immediately missed the warmth of his fingers on her skin.
“Ready to go?” Hana asked.
She ignored the sudden flush she felt, as she beamed a weak smile at Hana. Not trusting herself to speak, she bit her bottom lip and nodded meekly.
From the corner of her eyes, she noticed Drake’s had begun shaking. A slight motion she would have missed had her eyes not been watching. His cheeks flushed lightly when he realized she noticed, and he quickly tucked them inside the folds of shorts. “More than ready.” He muttered.
When she saw the movement; her stomach had done somersaults at the sight. The butterflies were back again; travelling across her stomach until she tried focusing on something else. Anything other than his steady footing beside her, or the quiet rumbles of her heart beating inside her chest.
Their hands had nearly brushed and the feeling intensified, changing into a warmth that spread throughout her chest. It wasn’t until he begun walking ahead of her and Hana that the sudden lurch lessened. By the time he was nearly three feet in front of them; the feeling was almost gone.
She uttered a sigh of relief. She was playing a dangerous game; one that she knew better than to play. And yet it hadn’t stopped her from pushing.
For a moment; she simply allowed herself to indulge. She allowed herself to think of a future where they could be something more than just friends, something more than even lovers. A future where Cordonia didn’t exist. Fleeting thoughts that did her no good.
In reality, she knew better. There were no real winners in the game of seduction, and love had no place for a relationship like theirs to survive.
