Semi-related: you don't understand how frustrating it is to bring up John Green (and/or Hank Green for that matter) around people my parents age (early 60s). I'll go into a spiel about Crash Course or vlogbrothers/early Youtube or the various charity and philanthropic work that they do but the only thing they even remotely recognize is The Fault in Our Stars.

The true Gen X/Millennial divide is where people know John Green from.

#late night ramblings #just needed to get this thought out of my head because to me crash course has been so much bigger than any of Johns books #look i like the books too but crash course got me and a ton of other people through school and university #it was probably the only reason i passed organic chemistry #and a respite from brutal science classes with world history since i didnt have time to take social studies courses #also made me believe in the power of philanthropy after being so frustrated with the capitalism and colonialism of most philanthropic work
