Finally well enough to play FF14 again without the screen making me nauseous and ALSO to just. Sit at my computer for any length of time at all lol. So in general just back on my bullshit there. XD
Am I that person that made an alt in the game that doesn't need alts just so I can experience the story straight through? Yes.
Did I name them the same damn thing with just slightly different spellings? Also yes.
Is one of them LOTR themed and the other cheese? Also yes.
Did I take any excuse I could to make a bun boy? Well...
Am I still considering turning him back into the world's smallest f!Lalafell? I am, please send help, I spent so long getting his glam right but I MISS HATS OKAY.

Been a while since I’ve posted something related to XIV so here’s some Carmina. There was something about next patch using portraits for more dungeons and stuff or something? I dono I don’t really pay attention to announcements and just skim patch notes for stuff I care about when things actually come out but I heard something about this and decided that I needed to go in and make portaits for every class. This also resulted in me tweaking a couple glams and making a few new ones. Sadly I use two of my glam plats for my Crafter and Gatherer glams so MNK/SAM and DRG/RPR have to share outfits for now. PLEASE SE I just need 2 more glam plates (though also like a nice rounded 5 would be nice to keep holiday outfits separate on). Anyways random details about all the tweaks and new outfits (along with some of my general long winded ramblings) below the cut I guess.
So SCH, RDM, MCH, and NIN got completely new looks. My old SCH was too close in color and used a lot of the same pieces as my SGE look I put together for story this expansion so it had to go. RDM used a top that I had modded and so didn’t look right anymore. The top it has WAS originally on my new MCH look but I had shifted that to be more pirate-y and still wanted to use the top and it looks great in red. NIN was going to get a modified version of a Cait Sith cosplay I put together for a group Halloween shot my FC did but then I realized when lookig through stuff that I had the Neo-Ishgardian top and that plan went out the window as I decided I had a need to work around that top for the look.
Meanwhile... BRD continues to get stuck with my holiday look whatever that ends up being. So for now it gets to support my Christmas gear. Maybe after the holidays I’ll change it but the look is solid on its own holiday season or not so it may just stay.
For more minor changes... My DNC used to sport a hat, I might even have some screenshots somewhere on here from the past where it still sports that hat. The look was built around an old old glam from the HW days that I made that was very... tap-dancer-esque. These days the new look has kind of been a Mina default look and is what I base a lot of my art and designing around but I always leave out the hat so decided I’d switch it with glasses. They might not stay but I do always love the look of glasses on Mina. Second only to hair flowers (I just didn’t feel I had any good ones on hand to go with the look).
MNK/SAM got new earrings and DRG/RPR got new nails. These were both super minor style changes. I wanted some earrings that were lowkey and that I didn’t really use much (instead of my usual heart earrings) for the MNK/SAM look. That look has always been a staple of my wardrobe since at least early HW if not sooner than that. It’s simple and effective and was built entirely around the gloves and going “what else can I make black that has gold accents?” The DRG/RPR look is similarly an old classic of mine, built completely around the Maelstrom coat. I used to have the sharp beastly nails on the look and I just switched those out for the like regular painted nails. Super minor change for a look that has never stopped being amazing. The way the Y’shtola HW boots pair with that coat is too dang powerful.
As one last random aside, BLU continues to be my most extra look. I have tried to make it over the top and extravagant in ever incarnation I’ve made of it. This one is decidedly less silly than it’s first main glam (which I should dig up some old pics of) but it still has that very loud, “LOOK AT ME” showmanship to the design. Every time I make a new outfit for it I have a lot of fun with it. The only look that I think brings me more joy from the sillyness of it is my blindfolded “I can’t read” SMN look.

Your Newest Style Inspiration is Here,
and it comes prepackaged in the 2004, generation defining, hope for all fangirls, movie: Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Although the film glamourized topics like celebrity stalking, pathological liars, and other generally unrealistic high school expectations, the movie was a corner stone in y2k fashion. Lindsey Lohan played the fabulous Lola Step, a young dreamer fresh out of NYC, searching for a slice of rebellion in New Jersey suburbia. Lola arguably was the first teenage character to display drastic costume changes in day-to-day wear. Pulling inspiration from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, skate-rock sub cultures, and Hollywood grandeur, the young star was able to project the young fashionista’s bold character and car-free vibes. The costume-like outfits from the feisty teen have a little something for everyone.
The Boho Babe
Tumblr media
So, you haven’t stopped listening to Fleetwood Mac since “Rhiannon” got stuck in your head at Urban Outfitters, but there is nothing wrong with that. This monochromatic, satin, bohemian-inspired look captures a crucial part of Lola’s soul: freedom. The message of teenage rebellion and desirable liberation rang true through cream bell bottom pants and belts worn as head scarves. If frolicking through fields of poppies (maybe in California’s current super-bloom) is your kind of thing, I would like to recommend this look for your next bike ride to the farmers market.
Sex and the City is Your Gospel
Tumblr media
You are undeniably the Carrie Bradshaw of the group, Cosmopolitans are your drink of choice on a girls night out, and just like this cranberry colored dress you like to make a statement. Nothing screams life of the party quite like a skin-tight, red, sequin mini dress accompanied by a matching red cardigan-but-cooler arm attachment. This dress not only signifies the single most critical night of Lola’s life thus far, but is also the means through which the most vital expression of teenage womanhood is expressed. Sure, red cocktail dresses aren’t the most appropriate for Tuesday morning coffee dates, but if anything could sway you, maybe it’s the indestructible nature of said garment, even rain soaked and garbage covered the flashy frock doesn’t disappoint. Dump the little black dress (so Posh Spice) and get your Ginger on in this.
Lana Del Rey is Your Actual Mom!
Tumblr media
This look goes beyond the clothes. In true Lana fashion, Lola’s har is curled and teased into a very sixties inspired baby beehive-gone-bump it. Maybe it’s the mod eyeliner, pastel pink lip gloss, or unmistakable East Coast spray tan, this look is iconic. Sugar baby doe-eyes complement the o-ring, midriff baring minidress, variations of which can be commonly found in your local thrift store. Lola’s hallmark layering shines through with a gorgeous pearl beaded mesh long sleeve, worn over the stunning dress. Housewives everywhere are quaking!
Where are my Grunge Gals at?
Tumblr media
Maybe it is a phase, or maybe it isn’t. Either way, fishnet shirts over a graphic tee
revolutionary, and a sure way to get you the attention you subconsciously are craving. This outfit, in my humble opinion, is peak Lola, the iconic Coca-Cola necklace is on full display, foreshadowing the props later importance; and New York is proudly plastered across her chest in the most tacky-yet-oddly appeasing manner. This outfit screams “first impression,” upon first glance you can get a back story, probably an intentional move as it is the first real glimpse we get into the fantasy clouding Lola’s big city dreams. This look is for the daring, faint-of-heart beware, fishnets aren’t for everyone and without proper measurements of perfectly calculated confidence, one wrong flip of the hair and your illusion of avant-garde is completely ruined. Pair with cargo pants and sneakers for the ultimate IGAF vibe.
Glam-Rock Does Pirate Vintage
Tumblr media
Another fearless look served cold with copious amounts of eyeliner and attitude. Arguably not the most life changing of outfits, this striped ensemble gives major witchy vibes. The cross-like lace detail and nods to the goth fashion of the late nineties, gives this look the perfect edge to offset an otherwise “simple” look. Chokers: a hallmark of mall-goths, and Dior-brats alike; this hefty velvet number sure does the trick. To keep the cool girl aura surrounding this topsy-turvy look, Lola pairs the Russel Brand-esque tops with a match-matchy maxi skirt, and a classic pair of chunky platforms. One of the *slightly* more wearable outfits from the flick, this look is gives us a template from which stylistic variations can showcase different personalities.
Despite the cul-de-sac, high school, parental supervision required, vibes given off from this film, re-watching Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen reminded me of the spontaneity of youth. Lola disregards the judgment of her peers, concerned more with how she feels in an outfit than how others perceive the extravagance that is often attributed with lace overlays, bare midriffs, and blue eyeshadow. We should all be a little more Lola, a little less self-critcal, and a little more care-free. Maybe these early 2000s styles didn’t shake you from a Marie Kondo-induced minimalism, or maybe you are drawn to decadence than thrift store glam, but either way Lola breathes personality. So maybe we don’t need to buy new platform, square-toe, snake skin boots, but rather, this year’s must have piece is something a little less material: confidence.

New grydscaen Hacker Logo Designs
Tumblr media
New Year New grydscaen - Cyberpunk Reboot 2021
Today I started desgning new logos for the cyberpunk "grydscaen" series to kickoff the new round of hacker character designs WIP for the "grydscaen: hack the mainframe" RPG trading card game promos and kickoff of my new newsletter and the release of the new release of the special edition "grydscaen: the seal maker 2nd edition with a cool new cover featuring bio hacker Hiro Yamaguchi the Velveet Hour terrorist who bombs the subway. The first logo design featured in this post is the mascot avatar for the illusive DNA data pirate anti-government rebel hacktivist group, the Black Holes lead who claim militiant strategist and mastermind Gryphon as their leader.
The idea behind the new designs was the re-release of four grydscaen books specifically grydscaen: war book 2 when the Atlantea Federation attach the Pacific Territories in the City, grydscaen: alliance book 3 when Packrat Saicho and leader Faid Callen is wounded starting an internal Packrat civil war, and grydscaen: insurrection boook 4 where the Psi Faction team is deployment direct to the Atlantea Federation homeland of Londes on mission with the Esset battlefleet aboard the Battleship Escalon.
These re-relases are accompanied by the new WIP release currently in galley edits grydscaen: idol whihc focuses on one of the main musicians that pops up in the grydscaean story, the glam rock band, Athens with lead singer Hibiki Sato and drummer Takira Mizutani as they train to become rock stars at IHS Music Academy inn the Echelons. Plus was have the second edition re-release with a fully re-written storyline of the flagship grydscaen title, the first book published in the dystopian cyberpunk series grydsacen: retribution which Kirkus Reviews called "anime-esque and well written" and Rainbow Gold Reviews called "dark adn gritty, an unpolished gem... as dark as it gets" for a new decade renamed to grydscaen: revolution featuring the Packrat leader Faid Callen startng a hacker revolution and all new cover art featuring the same character on the original cover which was drawn while I was studying animation inn art school the clandestine psychic operative and damper Julian "Blue" Iskafiin.
The Black Holes Logo Concept
I wanted to kickoff the new logo designs with bold hard black-and-white lines with hard angle fonts, gritty graphitti-like urban warfare logo gamer graphics and a bold statement. I started with the hacker group the Black Hole because they are the most militant of the rebel anti-government hacker gangs in the grydscaen series.
The character gryphon is central to the climax of the book grydscaen: dark after Jester wipes the Triumvirate leader Zoon's memory. Though we see him in other books, this is the first time we actually get a close iinsight into his personality. That messed-up narcissistic militant view of a harsh world full of goernment corruption and lies shapes gryphons view and drives him. I wanted to have the Black Holes logo be sort of subversive and edgy so went with a sneering mask feel. The blue highlight colour I chose to resemble to blue sky before the nuclear bomb which is now shrouded in a reddist lightening toxic colour left over from the uceal explosion caused by the Dionysis Effect which forev rendered the sky red lightening covered innn radioactive fallout. The blue is a hint at Grypon's soft spot hidden deep within his militant harsh exterior.
The grydscaen Hacker Factions
There are many hacker factions in the grydscaen series. Each group has a particular purpose. They include:
- The Black Holes - DNA Data Pirates led by Gryphon
- The Packrats - Anti-government Psychic Cyberterrorists led by Faid Callen
- Velvet Hour - Climate Terrorist Bio Hackers led by Rafe
- The Terror Hack - Anti-Government Rebel Hactivists led by Mage
- Jester Hacker Guild (JHG) - Anti-Corporate Blackhat Hackers led by Jester
- Clannet - Organized Crime Drug Gang Directed by Drug Dealer Wraith
- The Soul Deep - Jet Jockey Underground led by Hacker Informant Jazz
The Packrats Clan is then further broken down into sub-groups called "inner factions" which are only recognized internally and include:
Runners led by Ang responsible for runs and psi inducer drugs. Mobile Comand Center led by Dark responsible for the Mobile Frames. Wastes led by Set later Naito Sennish, the main Packrats fighters . Acolytes run by Elite Level 9 hacker Acoyle formerly of Terror Hack. Prophets led by Aseth who act as spiritual gides for the Packrat clan. Hosts whose members are hosts and escorts. The rules for these groups are all layed out in the Packrat Code which is included in the series bible, a sort of fandom encylopedia of characters, locations, drugs, political factions, warring governments, global powers, rebel hacker groups and terminology used in the grydscaen seriesand included in the appendix of the backstory book grydscaen: beginnings.
Hacker Logo Design Plans
All logos will be black and white with a single highlight colour for each group with the Black Holes colour as neon blue. The designs will be timed to the re-release of grydscaen: revolution and hoping to have them all completed by the indie release of the tech noir series sequel to grydscaen: dark and grydscaen: scout with the new novelette called grydscaen: zero day.
My Next Logo Design
Next design will be the bio hacker terrorist group Velvet Hour and the new 18 year old host Nier Ishida the petulant and flamboyantly gay younger brother to Sakama Ishida the Psi Faction Night Team Lead and psychic operative. Sakama can use the technique "witch blood" spiritual which is a psychicinduced medium power of the Prophets first highlighted in book 10, the final book in the main grydscaen series titled grydscaen: imperium.

Velvet, copper, sequins and tuxes galore
see what celebrities wore to the Oscars after-parties
The A-list was out in full force for the 2018 Oscars red carpet, with Lupita Nyong’o, Mary J. Blige and Meryl Streep all stealing the show.
Allison Williams, Lupita Nyong’o, Sally Hawkins and Elisabeth Moss all dazzled in metallics, while Saoirse Ronan and Danai Gurira kept their dresses classic with pale pinks.
But of course the party wasn’t over when the Oscars ceremony finished. And obviously, with this being the biggest film awards gig of the year, one outfit simply wouldn’t do. Oscar nominees and attendees changed into brand new outfits for the Oscars after party, opting for more fun and fashion-forward designs, such as Lupita’s daring bejewelled number or Tiffany Haddish’s pop of lime green.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley gave us ethereal mermaid vibes in a dramatic shimmering gown and Kendall Jenner brought the drama with her black layered sleeve mini-dress that showed off her flawless legs. It wasn’t just the women who brought in the style stakes this year though. TimothĂ©e Chalamet shone in his all-white tux (complete with bow-tie!) and Tom Holland’s dark red suit was a welcome twist on a classic – these two are seriously on fashion point.
Our favourite look of the night? It’s tough choice between Janelle Monaé’s show-stopping red suit and Saoirse Ronan’s pastel pink gown – total opposites, but both totally gorgeous.
Check out some of our favourite pictures from the night below
