Ok let's address Jamie Chadwick's comments because ofc this discourse continues. It took me 7 hrs to comprehend what she actually said sue me. I'm tired, it's week 13/13 of uni.
The second part of her response is true no doubt about it. Mercedes don't NEED to split the upgrades between both cars. They haven't in years to my knowledge and so Monaco was a first for a lot of fans. McLaren splits their upgrades, so do Aston and Williams to give a couple examples. Mercedes just never needed to because their performance was always to a standard they didn't need to rush the upgrades on one car. Now they do. The drivers themselves have questioned why they always wait for both parts to be ready (source: see Shov's answer in Merc's Monaco debrief). It has been said many many times and proven they had two different front wings in Monaco. There's no need for her to speculate on whether or not Lewis had the upgrades. He didn't. Now this article was modified yesterday (29/05) but idk when it was originally written because it only talks about qualifying and nothing about his response after the race 🤷‍♀️. Either way we already saw the different front wings on Friday.
But Lewis should be giving his hats off to George. Maybe not in so many words but the shady comments followed by a smirk does not help things whatsoever. He very well knows how his fans react online, he knows the way certain accounts write things. However full judgement is on hold for now because technically (and I really mean technically there's so many nuances i could go into but I won't rn) this is the first time he's reacted like this so it honestly just could be adrenaline. Although backing it up with more shady comments after the race doesn't help his case.
Keep an eye on it or don't but if there is this much discourse over a bloody front wing because someone can't answer a question with just a straight answer I wish everyone good luck dealing with stuff after the summer break.
