𝐙𝐎𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄 - 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
fandom: haikyuu ship: nishinoya yuu x oc/reader status: complete ao3 link
"I think you're really pretty. Will you go out with me?" That was the first thing he's ever said to her. And needless to say, Amari Chiyo was not impressed. So as promised, Nishinoya Yuu will get to know her better and confess again. And again. And again. And again. It'll take 6 years and 9 confessions, but he'll get there. Eventually.
⌦ content: fluff, light angst, love at first sight, friends to lover, slice of life
⌦ note: you are free to insert yourself into Chiyo, just keep in mind she has her own character/backstory. i know some people don't like that, so just a heads-up.
story masterlist | previous chapter | next chapter
The second time he confessed was almost a year and a half later – at their second-year sports festival.
During their first year, Nishinoya joined the volleyball team. And in just one year, he managed to make the starting lineup as the team's libero. Apparently, he was so good that he received the 'Best Libero Award' in a tournament during late spring, despite the team coming in second within the prefecture. The award made him famous, not just within the middle school volleyball scene but also throughout the school.
Not that Chiyo has been paying any attention.
Sure, she made sure to congratulate him when he immediately came bragging to her about his accomplishments. But she was far too stressed out with her personal life to pay attention to Nishinoya's growing popularity.
Between her first and second year of middle school, Chiyo's parents got divorced. Her father's start-up business took a turn for the worse, and her mother decided to jump ship while she was still somewhat financially stable. And though the Amari family had three children, she decided to only take Chiyo — the eldest child, along with her. But after living with her mother for two months, Chiyo decided, of her own accord, to return home to her father and siblings.
Despite all that, Chiyo did her best not to let any of it slip. She kept up with her grades, laughed with her classmates, and occasionally entertained Nishinoya's attempts at getting to know her better. And in her second year, she was elected as one of the two class representatives for their class.
And after four weeks of endless planning and stress, Chiyo was just glad the Sports Festival seemed to be running relatively smoothly. A few minor hiccups aside, everyone was having fun, which was the most important part.
After an eventful morning and fulfilling lunch, Chiyo was busy looking through the list of classmates she needed to gather when someone tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hey, Amari!" It was Nishinoya. "Whatcha doing?"
"Trying to round up the people for the tug-of-war and class relay." Chiyo gave him a tired smile. "Speaking of which, you should probably go get ready."
Chidoriyama Junior High was a school that separated sports festival teams by class, and tug-of-war and the class relay were the two most important events. Both had the class's pride and dignity riding on the line. And being one of the fastest runners, Nishinoya was chosen to be the anchor of the relay.
"Yeah, I know." Despite the acknowledgement, he continued to linger. In spite of the heavy burden he carried, Chiyo noted that he looked relatively carefree.
"Are you gonna watch?" He suddenly asked.
"Hm?"
"The class relay," he clarified. "You're gonna watch, right?"
She shrugged. "Of course. What kind of class rep would I be if I didn't?"
"Great. And you're gonna cheer for me, right?"
Chiyo raised an eyebrow. "I'm gonna cheer for the class, Nishinoya. Not just you."
"Yeah, but I'm the anchor," Nishinoya thumped his chest with an air of unyielding confidence. "Nothing gets the crowd going more than when you're neck and neck against an opponent. Especially in the last leg of the race. And I'll need all your love and support to squeeze out first place for our class."
She rolled her eyes. "Uh-huh. Now go get ready." Spinning him around by the shoulders, she gave him a light shove in the direction of the announcer's booth. "We're counting on you to win."
After being coaxed along for a few steps, Nishinoya began to walk on his own. He quickly glanced over his shoulder with one of his big goofy grins.
"You betcha!"
If Chiyo were being completely honest, that smile had her heart fluttering.
Just a little.
The tug-of-war event came and went, with their class barely scraping by at third place amongst the second-years. Now everything was riding on the class relays, and the runners were beginning to look especially nervous.
Chiyo pressed her lips together. She wondered if she should say something to encourage everyone when Nishinoya suddenly slapped one of the other runners on the back.
"Hey now, don't start freaking out," he hollered. "You guys got me running the anchor! There's no way we'll lose." He gave the guy beside him a reassuring look. "Come on, let's show 'em how we Class 2-2 do things!"
Upon hearing his call, the class exchanged a quick look amongst each other before raising their fists and letting out a collective battle cry in agreement.
Watching as the tension that loomed over her classmates vanished into the cool fall air, Chiyo couldn't help but feel impressed. She briefly glanced in Nishinoya's direction, who quickly caught her gaze. He winked at her, and she immediately turned away. Then, a familiar jingle played through the PA system, followed by a voice.
"Participants for the 4 x 100 class relay, please gather by the starting line. The race will begin shortly."
Upon hearing the announcement, the runners shared one last cheer with the rest of the class before heading towards the gathering point for the race.
"Good Luck!" Someone called after them.
"We're counting on you!"
"Yeah!" Nishinoya yelled back, raising a fist in the air. He looked like the protagonist of a shounen manga.
"He's pretty cool, isn't he?" Someone suddenly whispered into her ear, causing Chiyo to jump.
"Honoka!" She shot the dark-haired girl a look of annoyance before clearing her throat. "I mean, yeah, Nishinoya's part of the volleyball team. He's probably used to encouraging his teammates and stuff."
"Now that I think about it, you've never really been to his volleyball games, have you?"
Chiyo shrugged. "I'm not interested in sports."
"You sure you're not just saying that 'cause you're bad at it?" Honoka snickered.
"I'm not!" Chiyo frowned. "Besides, how fun can volleyball be? It's just a bunch of guys trying to hit a ball over the net, and wow, touch down! Three points!"
Honoka raised an eyebrow. "Okay, first of all, there were so many things wrong with that sentence. Second, you know he's gonna lose interest if you don't take some level of interest in his hobbies, right?"
"Why would I care?" Chiyo gave her friend an incredulous look. "He literally asked me out without even knowing my name! He's shallow, and cocky, and, and-!"
"Uh-huh," Honoka hummed dismissively. "Regardless, you gotta admit he's pretty cool. Enough to make your stomach get all the butterflies. I mean, your face is all red," she playfully poked at Chiyo's cheeks, to which she immediately slapped away.
"This is... It's 'cause it's hot out!" Chiyo reasoned. Honoka was right — her cheeks were scalding.
"Hey, Amari! The nurse is looking for you!" One of their classmates called out from the back.
"Anyways, excuse me." Huffing out a breath, Chiyo began to march off while Honoka waved after her.
"Good luck~!"
The meeting with the nurse was uneventful. One of her classmates got hurt during the tug-of-war event, and the nurse simply called her back to update her on how said classmate was doing.
By the time she returned to the field, the relay race had already begun. She climbed onto the upper landing of the staircase and hugged the concrete pillar. From there, she could just see over the sea of heads to get a good idea of how the race was going.
They were in the third quarter of the race, and the batons were just about to be passed to the final runners. Their class was second, and the batons were coming in. Nishinoya began jogging forward, then broke into a full sprint the second the baton was safely in his hand.
Chiyo's hand clenched into a fist, resting stiffly against her chest. She could see Nishinoya pick up speed as they rounded the final corner, catching up to the girl who was in first place. Her heart was pounding in her ears, and she realized Nishinoya wasn't kidding. Nothing gets the crowd going more than when two runners are neck and neck for first place.
"You can do it," she murmured.
She saw him clench his teeth and started yelling, summoning the last of his energy as they crossed the finish line. Chiyo's eyes snapped to the scoreboard, elated to see Class 2-2 highlighted in red at first place. She figured Nishinoya must've seen the same thing because she soon heard him screaming.
"Let's go!" He threw his arms up in the air. Then immediately pointed his finger towards the crowd, skimming through the students in search of someone. "Crap, where are you?" He cussed before eventually giving up and opting to scream at the sky. "Did you see that?! That was for you, my future girlfriend!"
Chiyo jolted. Was he talking about her?
She pressed her hands to her cheeks, only to feel them heat up once more. Quickly, she climbed down the stairs and began weaving through the crowd of students. She wanted to talk to him — she needed to.
But by the time she reached a distance where she could call out to him, she realized that he was surrounded by people. Guys and girls, some from their class, some she didn't recognize. He was being praised, high-fived, and getting his hair ruffled. He laughed and threw his arms up in another cry for celebration.
For the first time, Chiyo noticed.
When did he get so popular?

Ello ello ello!
honestly not sure yet what this page will be about(i do know i just don't want to admit to myself it'll be a random stream of consciousness à la James Joyce) but i thought I'd make a kind of introductory post about myself at least so here goes.(fandoms are listed at the bottom cuz at the heart of it tumblr is a place for obsessed freaks like myself). also I'm new to tumblr so its ways and etiquette are still unknown to me. but i will learn promise. anyway.
Name's Dorian/Bree(still deciding so take your pick and I'll see what sticks). I'm omnisexual aroace(went down the traditional pipeline surprise surprise) and go by she/her tho atm whole gender identity is kind of a mystery to me so that could change. edit: trying they/them rn to see how it feels
I'm finishing high school this year so my life'll be a bit hectic for a while(was for the last 4 years tbh). Cause I'm interested in one thing too many and can't make decisions to save my life and also cause I'm an anxious mess who can't relax, I'm taking a gap year. I'm planning on getting some rest to get back what remains of my mental health (which sadly ain't much but such is life). I'm gonna go travelling around a bit(rn pretty sure about Norway, UK, France & myb Japan) and honestly if I make any friends on here it'd be sick if someone joined me so that's always open.
Then next year, when I finish my soulsearching, I'll prolly go study sth cuz that's how the world works. I'd love to be either a writer or film director (or myb a therapist). My dream is to study film in UK(as a career writing and filmmaking is pretty much a tie, but filmmaking sounds just a tiny smidge more stable. Not giving up on writing in the least, but I feel like studying is more necessary for film than writing?) I love watching series and films not only because of the story, but because of the way it's told. I love to overanalyze the storytelling, the characters and different dynamics between them(and honestly just everything about the film) or read others' post overanalyzing it, so a film/series(does that exist?) critic sounds like an awesome job as well. But I'd like to be in the middle of the making and tell my own stories. Cinema's a bit sad in my country (non-existent more like) so studying abroad sounds like the only real option if I wanna make it in the industry. It's also an opportunity to meet more people interested in the stuff that I am so hopefully it works out. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
Obviously, if one's obsessed with cinema, you can hardly avoid falling down the rabbit hole that are the fandoms. I'm currently fixated on Good Omens and would love to find some humans I can discuss it with cuz my irl friends(tho I love them with all my heart) just don't go temporary insane over fandoms the way I do.
I get random moments of revelation about other fandoms as well, so here's a list:
Good Omens
MCU(pls no spoilers post Wakanda Forever. I'm kinda runnin a bit late but I'll catch up I promise)
Sherlock
ATLA
MLB
Star Trek
TOH
Lucifer
Megamind
Umbrella Academy
BBC Merlin
Hannibal
Stranger things
Witcher
TVD(was my first real fandom so it still persists even tho I'm not really into it much anymore)
myb some more that I forgot
I'll prolly be adding stuff here as I figure out what I wanna talk about, but one of the things I'm working on is getting rid of perfectionism so this is it for now. I tried to keep it brief but that obviously hadn't worked out lmao. Could be worse(much, much worse)

MFHSJFHKSDH !!!!! YES TO ALL OF THE THINGS YOU'VE SAID!!! Actually as for Yuu's what-if situation we've made up i think one of the reasons why their body hasn't quite literally broken down is bc of how ignorant Yuu is to all of it. In the world of twst the way you perceive things could be a key component to how magic and everything else reacts to you. This is why Yuu always has dreams of the great seven before an Overblot bc the OB! Boys might've reminded them of their movie counterparts AND more importantly---its a way for the world (I'll elaborate more on that if u want me to) and their mind/body to warn them for whats going to come next bc if an OB did occur then they would be absorbing more blot than what the others are already giving to them.
Yuu's ignorance is what's literally keeping them safe in the long run during their time in NCR and maybe if it were any different they would have been fine but bc of the sheer blot they've accumulated over the course of the game (Which is all happening in a single school year that has over 7 Overblots mind you. 7 goddamn Overblots) of course the glass that's been holding it in (their body) would start cracking from under the pressure. Its the little things at first like their phlegm is mixed with small blank inky spots that isn't noticeable and could be ignored until Grim scratches their damn arm and blot is what comes out first. Yuu freaks the fuck out of course and proceeds to wash it off repeatedly until blood is the only thing thats coming out again. They forget it feigning ignorance over it for more pressing matters like the kidnapping and shit (baby your health is a literal pressing matter--) and depending on what's going to happen next in the goddamn chapter (YANA UPDATE---) Yuu's health is going to go down hill faster or even faster and it'll be just a race against time on whether Yuu can find a solution or break.
Anyways gmorning how are you? My exam's are today and tomorrow so I'm currently not trying to die bc of it/j HSJFHSJDH stay healthy and hydrated bestie!!! ily (platonic)
EXAMS UGHH
But you're right! Yuu would probably brush off the symptoms of blog as a fever or pneumonia or even Tuberculosis depending on how serious the symptoms are, they might raise a brow going to the nurse and asking for a vaccine/cure for the ailment and it might work temporarily but its like putting a bandaid over a gunshot wound.
I'm defo with you on Yuu's health deteriorating during the middle or end of Chap 6 and Chap 7 picking up with Malleus thinking Yuu's avoiding him when in reality Yuu's literally dying bc their ignorance is no longer holding anymore, they've spent the entire year learning more and more about blots (Chap 6 contributing since S.T.Y.X is literally dedicated to studying Blot)
Grim becoming more rabid makes things hella worse because you can manage your health and a fussy OB monster waiting to happen, it's near impossible.
Emotions and tensions will definitely be high which means that Yuu's arc will be pushing people away.
Something happens with Malleus and Yuu's back to putting themselves on the back burner, and has to rekindle their disconnected relationships in order to get that dragon back to his senses.
Yuu needs a damn break.
#twisted wonderland#twst#twst theory#@hiraya manwari#scream into the void and i'll answer#this might be dry but idk what course Yana will take for Chap 7#but Yuu and Malleus' relationship might be at the forefront

Home isn't Always a Place
You're pushed forward, a gun on your back. You step down the ramp, the sunlight blinding you for a while. The headquarters were built here, in some sort of field. There as soldiers everywhere, and they're immediately aware of you. Of course they are, you're a threat. With a gun on your hand, seven bullets means seven men on the ground, crying in pain. You hardly miss.
“Sister!” A yell gets your attention, and you turn to its source. Harley comes running, throwing her arms around you. “So good to see you. Where have you been?”
In paradise. “Same place as I've been for the last year. Isn't it obvious?” Shrugging your shoulders casually, you try not to look to misplaced. Wait. Why would you look misplaced here?
“Well, now we get to have fun and some family bonding.” As she speaks, a soldier walking by gets her attention. “Hey, you. Can you help me with something?” She says in a flirting tone and walks away.
“Now it's a party.” A rough voice says, and you soon recognize the owner.
“Killer.” You greet him with a smile and a quick hug. “Nice to see you'll be here to have my back. Who else is here?”
“Deadshot is arguing with a soldier. Diablo is seated in some corner whining.” He smiles, gesturing at his left. “Long time no see. How's life?”
“Life's fine. As fine as it could be.” You start walking over where Deadshot is, watching as the soldier rolls his eyes. Floyd is gesticulating a lot, which means he's pissed.
“I won't have it like it was the last time. Now go, be a good puppy and tell this to your boss.” He says, turning his back at the man. “Havoc. Hi.” He says, exchanging a glance with Killercroc. “Ready for another stupid mission?”
“It's not like we have a choice, right? I–”
“Listen up, assholes! Your dirty things are in these boxes. So change and let's get the hell out of here. You have five minutes.” A man shouts, and everyone rolls their eyes.
You make your way to your things, and as you expected, your box is filled with your old clothes. All in shades of lilac, purple and pink. As usual, the soldiers just stand around you, not caring too much, as you change. You never liked that. Harley doesn't seem to care, and many eyes lay on her. But you do care. And you care a lot more now.
“Guys. A little help?”
Floyd and Killer grab some of the dark plastic bags that lie on the the floor, as you take a dark purple sleeveless jumpsuit. You move to stand near a wall, and the guys turn their backs at you, holding the bags high so you're shielded from anyone's eyes. They did the same on the first time, and you're very thankful for that.
“Thanks, guys. I'm done.” You tell them, fixing the jumpsuit on your body. The hard material makes you feel strong, like Havoc again.
“You're welcome.” Killer says.
“To the trucks! Now!” A man barks and you have no choice but to do as he says.
All of you go in the back of one of the trucks, together. Harley seems to be the only one excited about it, since she's trying to flirt with a soldier named Tom. You wonder what Joker would think about that. Oh. He's stuck on a bed for the rest of his life. He won't be saying anything, you bet.
As you move through the town, you can't help but think about what you did before leaving the house. The kiss. You can't believe you actually kissed him. What in hell were you thinking? You're very brave to do such a crazy thing like that. And you should've at least stayed to see his expression. To see if he was mad or not. But even if he didn't like it, you trust him enough to know he won't break his promise. He still keep helping you after you beat him up twice, so it's not a peck in the lips that will make him change his mind.
Being sure of this is a weird feeling. Your head is so much clearer now, you're not as scared as you were. And you're liking who you're becoming. This mission is just a inconvenience. It'll be over and you'll head back to the house, back to the way of getting a real life. A good life, a life you'll actually enjoy having.
You stop suddenly, and you're ordered out of the truck. “There's a small group here. Eyes open. They might have put mines here so... Don't blow up.”
You get two guns, one in your hand as you walk the perimeter. Harley stays close to Tom, but it doesn't bother you. You walk near Killercroc and Floyd, your head too far from this place.
“Hey.” Floyd elbows you. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah, I'm just... Thinking.” Shrugging your shoulders, you need to focus on being casual. “How's you daughter?”
“She's great. Best student of her class and she's in a hella good school. The best of Gotham.” He looks at the sides, making sure nobody is too close. Killercroc is a few steps ahead and he doesn't really care about these stuff anyways. “You will never guess who put her there. And also guaranteed her a good University, any one she chooses.”
“That's freaking amazing, Floyd. Who did all that?” It couldn't be Amanda. She's not that good.
“Batman.” The mention of Bruce makes you blush, your heart aching from his absence. You look down, running a hand through your hair.
“Batman? In like the man you hate with all your strength?”
“How can I hate someone who does that for my kid? No, no. I respect him. Even admire him now, doing this after I tried to kill him half a dozen times.”
“Floyd, he's...” You need to let out out your chest, and having someone to talk about it would be nice. And you know you can trust Floyd, even more now that his hate for Bruce is gone. So the words roll out your tongue in a whisper as you both stop walking. “...Batman is the one helping me... Rehabilitating me.”
“Oh. So the rumors are true. I knew they took you somewhere else, just didn't know where.”
“You two. Walk.” Someone says and you start moving again.
“Yes, he... I'm going well. I...” Floyd looks down at you, raising one eyebrow. “He said it was mostly just me, but he did help. He treated me with kindness, believed me. I don't know how to explain but I'm different.”
“I did notice something was off with you. But I'd never guess.”
“Really? I was trying to keep it cool.” As you speak, three man come from the corner, immediately shooting at you. You duck behind a car, peaking just enough to lay eyes on them and aim. But they're easily put down without you having to shoot.
“All clear!” Harley says, smiling.
“So...” You continue when you start walking downtown again. “I didn't want to come, but he promised me it would be the last time.”
“Uhm... He's making promises?”
“Yes.” You don't get his tone. “He's very kind to me. Unlike anyone else... He even threw me a birthday party.”
“Happy birthday by the way, and sorry it's a little late.” You turn the corner, carefully at first. “How kind?”
“Kind.” What else can you say? That his touch is so soft, so gentle that you couldn't help but fall in love with him? “He... Cares. I think.”
“You fell for him.” Floyd bursts out, and it's not even a question. It's an affirmative. How did he get there so fast?
But you're fast to dissimulate. “What? No.”
“It's called Stockholm Syndrome.”
“It's not like that!” You exclaim. “You know I've been kidnapped before. Twice by the Joker, who kept me hostage for five months... I did spent three of them just to play tricks on his mind and get some of his money but you get what I mean. Batman didn't held me hostage. He spoke to me, helped me get clean of the drugs they used to give me at Belle Reve, he... He won't let the door locked anymore. He wants me to be able to live in society again.”
“I was teasing you. But since you went into great lengths to defend your relationship with him... You did fell for him.”
“Shut up, Floyd.” You mutter, too much on your head. Increasing your pace, you reach Killer, walking beside him.
Your feelings are pretty clear, as much as you don't want to admit it. And hear it like that just makes it even worse. The kiss... All you think is about that kiss you shouldn't have given.
You're thankful when the action starts, because you have something else to focus on. It doesn't resumes in shooting, you eventually get into hand to hand combat. And you can deal with it pretty well. Of course, it's easier because the guys have your back. You guess they somehow noticed you have no pleasure on doing this anymore. Diablo, as usual, doesn't participate much.
When you stop, hours later, you feel your body complaining a little, but you know it'll get worse. But you also know you can deal with that. And you will, because this time you have somewhere nice to return to.
The commotion goes on for a couple of days. It gets messy, and it only gets worse when the granades start falling from the skies. You're all bruised up again, but not as bad as you were in the hell hole. How is it possible that you're in the middle of a war and you're not as much hurt as you were inside a prison?
As you approach the terrorists base, things get worse, and even the soldiers seem to get anxious. So that means they're extra evil to you. One of them denied you a bottle of water, what made Killercroc almost get his head blown out for arguing with the man. That reminds you that you don't have an explosive this time, but the soldiers told you they will put a bullet through your head if you try anything. But they can rest their minds because the only thing you want is to end this soon.
A week later, the soldiers decide to settle for the night, and push you into a half destroyed house. Harley uses all the hot water, so you have to endure the cold. But it feels good to clean up, and you can take a look at your wounds. A few cuts and purple bruises, nothing you can't deal with. The only bad part of the times you stop to rest a little before start moving again, is that your mind involuntary floats back to Bruce. You can't help it, everything comes back. When he left his gala to dance with you, the dreams, the birthday surprise, the kiss... Why can't you take this man out of your head?
You're alone in a room where half of the wall is down. The others are downstairs, but you want to be alone. You can see the stars from here, and you wonder if Bruce is staring at them too. “Hey, freak.” A soldier comes in, throwing a small radio at you, that looks like a very rustic cellphone. “Someone wants to speak to you. You have five minutes.”
Watching as he leaves, you lie back on the floor, approaching the radio from your ear and mouth. You know who it is, and your stomach goes crazy, with a thousand butterflies flying around.
“Hi.” He answers. “How are you?”
His voice is so familiar, like home. “I'm surviving. Enduring. Just want this to be over soon.”
“It will. And you'll be back here.”
“I hope so... We're near their base now. So only a couple of days more and we'll reach it. Take them down.” You close your eyes, hoping that his voice will be enough to make you dream of him tonight. You would give anything to have him here... Or to be back home. You mean, back at his house. “How's everything there?" Stupid question, he's fine, everything is fine.
“It's weird not to have you here.”
A smile comes to your lips. “Is it?” You whisper, taking a deep breath. You're scared you'll lose control, and the words will roll out your tongue. “Our time is almost over but... Thank you, I... It's good to speak to you.”
“Just remember I'm waiting for you.” You hear his heavy breath, as if he's suffering too, tired, exhausted.
Then you hear a little static, and you know he's gone... There's a weight on your chest and you can't help but let a single tear roll down your cheek. You keep the radio near your face, as if you could hold Bruce with a little longer. “I miss you so much.” You say, barely recognizing your weak voice.
“I miss you too.” The sudden answer scares you, your eyes widened.
“I- I thought you hanged up.”
“No, I'm still here. And I miss you very much, sweetheart.”
The pet name makes you lose it, and now you're crying. “Bruce, I–”
“Time's up, Havoc.” The soldier comes back, hand reached out. “Say goodbye to your protector.”
“I gotta go. I... I miss you.” You burst out before another sentence, far more dangerous, leaves your lips. You give the man the radio back, curling up on the floor, bracing yourself.
From tomorrow, you'll fight harder. You need to go back.
• • •
“Their base–” The soldier who announces is shot in the throat, right beside you. You're duck behind the barricades, waiting for the big guns to arrive. You cannot approach with the risk of being blown up, and they're not allowed to spend you just yet.
“That's it. Shoot to kill, that's an order.” The commandant yells, and the bodies start dropping faster. But not from your gun. You keep aiming for their knees, but another bullet always finds the man you leave collapsed on the floor. “Are you deaf, slut?” He barks at you, leaving his post and pulling you up by the shoulders. “Don't you think you can trick me just because the Bat took you into his wings. Do what you do best and kill those terrorists.”
“I don't kill, sarg.” You tell him, making your way back to your post. But the grabs your arm violently, squeezing right on a wound you got. You groan, trying to pull away.
“You don't kill? Nice try. You will do as I say!” He yells right to your face, and you can feel his disgusting breath. But you won't back down, and you won't take a life just because he told you to.
“I don't kill.” You repeat, standing as tall as you can, head up raised up to look the man in the eye.
His gun makes sudden contact with your face, in the apple on the right cheek. Your head jerks to the side, and you're knocked down, a sharp pain spreading through the skull.
“Hey! Leave her alone!” Killercroc comes running, and you see through the corner of your eyes as he engages in a fight with the man.
You're done here. Crawling away from the fight, you hide yourself behind a building, seated on the floor and resting your back against the wall. They seem to be dealing with that very well, so they don't need you. You're tired of fighting, tired of being in pain.
“Havoc?” Floyd calls, startling you a little. “Are you ok? Your cheek is–”
I'm (Y/N). “Yes, I'm ok. But I'm not going back there.”
“You'll have to tell them you're feeling unwell or else–”
“I don't care, ok? I just need to go back home. I'm sick and tired of this shit.” You burst out.
“Home?” He questions, not seeming too excited to head back to the battlefield.
“Yeah, just... I'm confused, I'm hurt. I'm not thinking straight.”
“I have to head back. Sorry.”
Nodding, you close your eyes, taking in the explosions and shooting. The only thing you want is peace now, silence... Bruce's arms. A heavy, cold rain starts falling, and you're soaking wet in a matter of seconds. Your head spins around, and you lie down, eyes closed tight.
Suddenly, you're pulled into a heavy sleep.
• • •
“Lucky bitch. We should be taking her back to where she belongs.” A rough voice wakes you up, and you sit up, eyes opening slowly. You're in a truck, in the back, on the metal floor. Your hands are tied by huge metal handcuffs, that cover both hands, reaching the middle of your forearm. It's heavy.
“Let's teach her a lesson. Just like old times.” A man say, and you recognize two out of six, both were your guards in Belle Reve.
“Don't leave too many bruises. She'll be with Batman in ten minutes, he'll notice.”
Ten minutes... You're going back. This truck in taking you back. Lowering your head, you smile, breathing deeply.
“She was with the Task Force. He'll think she got them there.”
“Fine then.” You're pulled back, a dark, heavy fabric covering your head. “This is just to remind you of who you are, Havoc.”
“And to give you a nice memory of home.”
The beating starts, and your body easily collapses to the floor again. But you're lifted up, again and again. You should fight. You should do something, but you can't. You're not the superpowerful girl you thought you were. You break too, and you get hurt. And you are hurt, with countless cuts and wounds through your body. When you were high on whatever they gave you, you could keep moving. Now you can't. Being vulnerable, weak, feels awful, but there's just no strength in you. You just need to make it through the last ten minutes that separate you from home.
Home.
When exactly did the house became that?
Or is it Bruce? Is he the one becoming your home? Is it even possible? You hope it is.

PIPSQUEAK
a kuroo x gangmember!reader
summary;
" you like to cause a bit of trouble, pipsqueak?"
" pipsqueak? seriously?"
Life for you got turned upside down after your first year at Nekoma high. Realizing it was too dangerous, your parents sent you back to live in Miyagi and attend Karasuno with your old friends. Kuroo Tetsuro, the Police Chiefs son, comes into contact with you in the most unexpected way possible, bringing trouble wherever you both go.
—————————-
Prologue.
High school was never that interesting to you. Though, you'll admit that it was a good way to help the days pass. You always found different games to help.
At first, games to you meant sneaking out of the house, slashing tires, almost getting arrested, going to parties. You had a bad reputation. You had been mixed up with all the wrong people before at your old school. But now you were going to turn your life around. Even if that means that now games to you would mean studying. Kind of.
The closest you'd probably get to your new life would be getting in trouble for minor things at school. For example, falling asleep in class was a specialty of yours. Truly, an art form. Waking up to that sweet slap of a ruler against your desk was better than any alarm clock you'd ever hear. The rush in your chest, the heat to your cheeks, the sweaty palms. Incredible. But that is it. You promised your mother that this year you would be making her proud at Karasuno. You wouldn't be hanging out with those "thugs" as she liked to call them. You would keep up, maybe pay attention, and maybe make some more real friends.
The truth was that school never felt like a real challenge to you. Sure there were plenty of difficult subjects that made you feel stupid but you always kept out of the drama, minded your business, and kept your head down. It was fine. There really was a target on your back now that you were the new girl at school though, and you had adjusted week by week meeting new people and reuniting with some old ones, too. But ultimately you decided the social system just wasn't made for you. There wasn't really a good place for you to fit in, or maybe it just wasn't comparing to the kind of family you made before.
Today was one of those days where your motivation was at its peak, you were taking good notes. Studied for a quiz, been overly diligent. Then that sweet beautiful sound of the lunch bell rang, you pulled out your food, grabbed your skateboard, and left the classroom in a bit of a hurry. As you were leaving you started to hear a conversation:
Dude, don't worry, I have it completely handled. Watch...
"(Y/N)!" Narita, your classmate called for you once you exited the room and into the hallway. He stood next to Ennoshita who looked like he would explode any second. You knew Narita, him and Ennoshita were in Class 4 with you and you really didn't have that many real friends at school but you wouldn't mind calling them that. They were some of the friends you were reunited with from middle school, they were a big comfort to you when you transferred in.
"Hey, how's it going?" You slowly walked over, trying to find your excuse to leave and take a nap without seeming impolite.
"Great, good. Thanks, yourself?" Narita answered for him and Ennoshita. He also seemed in a hurry for some reason but was much worse at covering it up.
"Pretty tired, but uh, for the most part—" You started but your sentence didn't last long.
"You should come to my party! Uh— Our party. We're having a party it would probably wake you up. It's in Tokyo! I mean—" Narita came in strong.
"Nice, buddy. You really do got this handled." Was all Ennoshita followed it up with, "Gotta go, see you guys in class."
"A party?" You laughed a little, just because these guys were anything but the partying type. You started walking and Narita was following you like a hawk, "Don't you guys have volleyball practice or something?"
"Yeah, of course. But not this Friday night! I mean technically we do but we'll be done at 6:30. Party can start at 7:30." Narita followed up, "All the volleyball guys will be there, too. We have a summer training camp in Tokyo starting on Monday so this is kind of the only day we can get everyone together. We already had our friends from Nekoma invite pretty much everyone they knew."
"N-Nekoma, huh?" Your smile wavered, "That sounds like it'll be really fun for you guys. Thanks for the invite, but I don't really know anyone on your team. Plus, I can't get to Tokyo by 7:30." You said, declining as well as you could without making your answer too suspicious.
"Well, yeah about that. Um, by 'it's in Tokyo' what I meant to say was Tokyo guys will be there. They're volleyball players, too, actually." He explained, rubbing the back of his neck and adjusting his satchel, trying his best to act cool and lean against the vending machine you were using.
"So, it's a Volleyball mixer with you guys and a bunch of guys from Tokyo but it's not in Tokyo? Where is it, then?" You asked for the elaboration, kind of liking this dancing way to get to the point.
"Yes, well and other schools in Miyagi, too. It's a lot of schools, I mean I'm talking Nekoma, Fukorodani, Aoba Johsai, Johzenji, Date Tech, Shiratorizawa.. maybe.. Inarizaki.. and more.. again maybe. But it's at Kinoshita's house. Which is still kinda far, but it has a pool! His family is loaded and they'll all be gone this weekend." Narita finally got to the point.
"Sounds like it'll be a good time for you guys. I'm happy for you, sounds like you've made a lot of friends from other schools." You cheers'd your milk to him and started walking again to find a place to eat.
"No, no. Girls will be there, too. It's kinda the whole point."
"You really have to work on your pitch." You said plainly.
"Please, I need your help (Y/N). I was put in charge of getting girls to come to this party." Narita begged, you couldn't help but let out a laugh at his desperation. In all your years of knowing him and being in the same classes you had never seen him talk to a single girl who wasn't in a group project or something related to it.
"Why you?"
"It was either me or Tanaka."
"Oh, then definitely you are the better choice." You agreed, having known just from the previous stories he's told you. "Interesting proposition. I'll think about it."
"You'll think about it and say yes?" He tried, "Every time I talk to a pretty girl I feel like I'm going to throw up, I can't talk to groups of girls and invite them to a party. But you're likable, more well known now since you're the new girl."
"First of all, rude that I don't make you want to throw up. I'm pretty, sometimes."
"Fair."
"How about, I'll say yes if you tell me who it is you have a crush on, which girl you most want at this party then I'll help out." You offered. Narita thought for a minute as you started eating your lunch.
"Fine." He nodded, "This is my duty to my boys." Then he leaned into your ear and whispered the name of the prettiest and smartest girl in your class: Ichika Yua. Ichika was going to be a tough sell.
"Alright. A deals a deal. You've given me a secret and I will do what I can do. How many girls do you need, anyway? Are we going for a 1:1 ratio or..?"
"No, these guys need a much higher chance I think. Let's try a 4:1 ratio."
"Yeah, actually you're gonna take what you can get."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Now give me the rundown on your team. I don't really know any of them and I need to know for my pitches I have to do this week. And don't think because I'm doing some work means that you can slack off okay. I really only know 2nd-year girls, if you want 3rd year or 1st you have to go to them. You need to try too. Also, will there be alcohol?" You listed off your demands and were straight forward. Narita made a slow nod,
"Oh, I almost forgot. Do you know any girls from Nekoma who could come?" He asked you the dreaded question.
Yup, you were originally supposed to spend your high school years at Nekoma High School. When you were entering high school your dad got a job offer in Tokyo, forcing you to move out there after middle school. Then after everything happened, your Mom knew it was too risky to let you live out in Tokyo still and she shipped you back here to go to Karasuno and live in a small apartment by yourself. You have family friends who come to check on you and your parents visit when they can. It's not horrible, at least now you get to come back to streets more familiar.
"Um, I think the girls I knew from Nekoma aren't exactly the girls you want at a party. Besides, you should just ask your volleyball brethren to ask some girls and pull their weight. Or are they too pretty for you to talk to?" You teased Narita and knocked his head.
"Hey, girls are girls." Narita held his head from where you knocked it.
"Sure, if thats the case then the next time you see me I better be seeing some chunks."
You and Narita continued to eat lunch together that day. Until you realized you only had a limited amount of time left and had to use the bathroom before class so you excused yourself. You skated away around the outside of the courtyard with a bun in your mouth and around some of your other classmates, waving.
"Dude, uh. Who was that?" A guy with an aggressive appearance walked up to Narita, having walked past a few minutes before but stayed just to gawk.
"Huh? (Y/N)?" Narita clarified, innocently.
"(Y/N)... wow. What a beautiful name." Tanaka sighed in simp, "Is she our year?"
"Yeah, man. She's in my class. You never noticed her before? I'm surprised she was the talk of Karasuno guys for like the whole first week of this year." He laughed. "She is technically new to Karasuno this year. But she's from Miyagi, I've known her since grade school."
"My babe sensor has been reserved for Kiyoko only recently. Trying to be loyal." He humphed, "You guys a thing?"
"What? No, no." Narita laughed, "No, we've just been friends for a while. She's helping me get girls to come to the party on Friday."
Tanaka jumped up with optimism, "Yes! This is going to be the best party of our high school lives!"
"I hope so." Narita rubbed his neck to try and tame his nerves again.
"(Y/N).." Tanaka sighed again, "You know who's gonna go nuts when they get a look at her, right?"
"I know."

I don't want to get into too much detail because we want it to be something our fans can analyse and interpret on their own as we continue to release music and add more pieces to the puzzle. I think our next comeback, with Say My Name and Hala Hala, will furthermore establish our little universe since it's our first comeback since our debut."

did you get rejected from any academies? do you care anymore? "Nope! I only applied for Blossom Bell."
what is your DREAM achievement? "Artist of the Year at any award show. It's probably more of a possibility in the Kpop industry than the music industry as a whole, but that's okay with me. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times; I have a lot of faith in ATEEZ."
finish the sentence: “when it comes to my career, my goal is to make sure that...” "I show the best version of myself for people to see."

everybody has ONE word tattooed on their head that most describes who they are, what does yours say? "Either Chaotic or Clumsy. I think they both equally describe me in a nutshell."

Every Single Time | Lee Jeno
Genre: well floof ofc
Word count: 1.8k
A/n: I wrote this during my online class at school today for no reason other than avoiding ap Spanish yikerz. N e wayz it's kinda clichè and cheesey but I hope yall enjoy it nonetheless :)
It's one of my last fics in my jb song series!! Based off this Jonas Brothers song
To say you'd been in love was an understatement. More specifically, you had been in love with one (1) boy for five (5) years. Who is this boy, you ask. Well, none other than your very best friend, Lee Jeno.
You'd been crushing on him since eighth grade and have been friends for essentially your whole lives. The thing is, Jeno has always had other crushes and girlfriends. Of course, being that you two are besties, he tells you all about this and it lowkey highkey breaks your sensitive little heart.
To be fair, you have also had your fair share of boyfriends. Freshman year you dated Lee Donghyuck and later, Huang Renjun. The only reason you ever said yes to them was in hope of getting over your crush on Jeno. However, it never seemed to work and you were still left, well, crushed. Sophomore year you dated Chenle, but you two discovered that you worked much better as friends. Lastly, during your junior year you dated the school flirt, Na Jaemin. Everyone wondered how you managed to get such a renowned hottie. The thing is, Jaemin is another one of your friends so he knew about your crush. You two only went out because he was getting over his ex as well.
Now, in the middle of senior year, you find yourself sitting at lunch, mindlessly staring at the boy you're hopelessly in love with.
"Hey, y/n! Are you good?"
"Hmm? Oh yeah, right. Yeah I'm fine," you barely managed to convince Jeno after he caught you. Chenle gave you a knowing look from across the table, to which you responded with a glare.
As odd as it was, Chenle is still one of your best friends and he knows about your ongoing crush. In fact, he was one of the first people to tell you about it, because you were too dense to realize it yourself. Quite frankly, you think that may be the reason your exes dumped you, they could see your feelings for Jeno. However, it seems that you're lucky enough because Jeno has yet to catch on.
~
"Y/n, I think you should just confess. What's the worst that could happen?" Chenle suggested.
"He could hate me," you respond coldly.
"Okay yeah, but that would only last for the rest of senior year. Then, you'll both go to college and, if need be, never see one another ever again." :D
"Wow. That makes it sound so much better," you say in a sarcastic tone.
"Who knows, y/n, he might actually like you back. I get the feeling he does."
"What makes you say that?"
"Let's make a bet. 20 bucks says you won't confess to Jeno before winter break."
"I don't want to make any bets I know I'm going to lose," you pout.
"Fine then. 20 bucks says Jeno will confess first."
"That's a bet I can win."
"That's the spirit, y/n!"
"Because Jeno doesn't have feelings for me so he'll never confess!"
"You're hopeless."
"C'mon Lele, he's always surrounded by other girls. I wouldn't even have a chance."
"Okay, but you've dated other boys too," your friend reminds you.
"That's different. Throughout high school I only dated boys to get over Jeno." You paused briefly before continuing, "but it never worked. Every single time, I keep on going back. He's always on my mind. It doesn't matter what I do." You finally looked up at Chenle again only to find him fast asleep on your bed. Late night study dates with Chenle were always like this: deep conversation from you but snooze from him.
~
You sat impatiently in your physics class, waiting for the bell to ring. As you turn your head to check the clock yet again, you are met with Jeno's eyes staring back at yours. "Y/n," he started quietly, "you should be working on your project right now not staring off into space. We only have 2 more days before it's due."
You throw him a shy smile, blushing at his observation of you. "You're probably right," you whisper back. Instead of listening to his advice, you go back into staring off. This, however, was not to your advantage because he began to wonder about what Chenle said. Maybe you should just confess. What if Jeno actually does reciprocate your feelings? You turned to face him again only for your thoughts to be interrupted by his knowing look.
"Y/n, don't make me say it again. You need to finish your project so you don't have to finish it all in one night like last time." Of course. How could you forget the last project that you made Jeno stay up all night to help you finish on time. It's not your fault that he's much superior in physics. Oh gosh. There's no way he could feel anything for you when your literally so stupid! Yes, y/n, you are just so so stupid smh.
~
You checked the time on your phone. 3 am. Another all nighter to finish your dumb project. Okay so maybe Jeno had a point the other day. As you set your phone down it began to vibrate. "Hey Lele," you answer after reading his caller ID. "I'm sorry but I cant talk now because I need to finish this project. Why are you even up at 3 in the morning? If this is some lame attempt to convince me to tell Jeno about how I feel, it's not gonna work. He obviously doesn't like me back."
You waited for a response, but the line went dead. Maybe it was just a butt dial. Or a PRANK!! THAT LITTLE PIECE OF CRAP! Calm down, y/n. It's physics time right now.
~
Jeno sat at Chenle's desk, helping him study for his Calculus test tomorrow. "Chenle, you are just like y/n, always waiting until the last minute. I should call her. I bet she's pulling an all nighter right now to finish that project."
"That's not fair. We can't help it that we don't have the same level of intellect as the great Lee Jeno," Chenle mocked.
"No. You two are just bad when it comes to procrastinating. My phone is dead, can I use yours?" Chenle tossed Jeno his phone and he quickly dialed your number. You answered almost immediately. Stupid y/n, staying up so late.
"I'm sorry but I cant talk now, Lele, because I need to finish this project. Why are you even up at 3 in the morning? If this is some lame attempt to convince me to tell Jeno about how I feel, it's not gonna work. He obviously doesn't like me back."
The boy sat there, his mouth a bit agape. "Jeno. Jeno. Yo! Jeno what did she say?" Chenle finally recovered Jeno's attention.
"Oh, right. Yeah she just said she was busy and could talk right now. And then she hung up," he lied just a little. "N E ways. Back to limits. If the x in the denominator is..."
~
As you walk into school the next day, you are caught a bit off guard. Jeno was waiting for you at your locker. "Hey, y/n," he smiled brightly. How could anyone not fall for that? "Did you have to stay up all night again for your project?" He asks, playing dumb.
"N-no. Not all night," you argue despite him assuming correctly.
He laughs a little. "You're cute when you try to lie." And with that, he walks off, leaving you flustered at your locker. The warning bell rings and you quickly gather your things for your first class. Not that it'll matter. There's no way you could focus now.
~
The rest of the day was fairly normal until lunch. You sat down next to Chenle like usual, but Jeno was acting a bit,, unusual. He was looking at you almost lovingly and it was starting to get a little creepy. <( ̄︶ ̄)> "Isn't y/n just do pretty today?"
Chenle just kinda looked at you like (>д<)which you responded with 乁། ˵ ◕ – ◕ ˵ །ㄏ
"What do you mean, Jeno? Is y/n not pretty everyday?" Chenle questions him.
"Oh. Of course she is pretty everyday! But today she is extra prettyyyyy," he draws out the last word adding to his cuteness.
You obviously wanted to join the conversation as opposed to awkwardly sitting silently but you couldn't come up with any words. You could feel the red tint burning across your face, but it's not like you could stop it. "Uh oh. Y/n is blushing. That must mean you like me too, huh?"
"What?" Your mouth hung open. Earth to y/n!! Did you hear that right? Did he really just say too? Say something!
"Ha! That's 20 bucks, y/n! I knew you couldn't tell him first," Chenle screeched, only briefly capturing the attention of the lunchroom. After the students returned to their own lunches and conversations, Jeno continued:
"I asked if you liked me. Of course, I already know the answer."
"Then why do you ask?" You reply rather innocently.
"Because I want to hear you say it again."
"Again?!" You question at the same time that Chenle shouts it.
"Yeah, again. Y/n confessed to me on the phone last night," Jeno elaborates. "So if that was some sort of bet, well, she won I guess."
You nearly died of embarrassment. "Wait so that wasn't Lele calling me yesterday? It was you? And I just-"
"Wait Jeno, you said she just hung up after explaining that she was busy," Chenle argues.
"Did I forget to mention that part?"
"Oh my gosh. I can't believe I did that. Ugh," you complain while facepalming.
"So, are you gonna say it?"
"Do I have to?"
"If you want to hear me say it again then I have to hear you say it first."
"Fine. Jeno, I have had the biggest crush on you since middle school. I really like you."
"Y/n, I have had a crush on you for some time as well. I really like you too," and of course to make matters even worse for your flustered state, he adorns his confession with that signature smile that makes your heart go we got that BOOM BOOM.

So yeah, y/no is the ship of the school. Y'all cute or whateva. Jeno always takes you out on fun dates like roller skating or bowling. He is also SUPER CLINGY which you didn't know back when you were only friends. He loves loves loves to cuddle and can almost always be found with his arms around your waist like a koala.
