Revised review: it has grown on me significantly. I think I had to reset some expectations, but once I did I liked it a lot more. Midnight Rain, especially.
I still don’t think most of the album really sounds like my personal perspective on midnight (with some exceptions), but I guess midnight isn’t the same for everyone.
