It's not confirmed but highly suspected that Grazer's smaller cub died 😭
#happy August to me I guess#weeping and wailing in the streets#whatever Chunk did to him caused damage to at least one of his front legs and he was only mobile when he moved on his hind legs#there were no clear signs that he was eating and he seemed in distress#her second baby is gun-shy now (constantly treeing himself at the first sign of conflict) which is ok in my opinion#hhhhhhhh I'm so sad guysssss#alas I have mildly anthropomorphized the bears#which is breaking rule number 1#but he was so cute#this will be the first cub Grazer has lost in three litters (seven cubs overall) if he is in fact dead#which is impressive because cub-of-the-year mortality is around 50%#and I want to say getting a cub to adulthood is like a 1-in-4 chance? maybe a 1-in-3?#I just wanted Grazer's cubs to keep beating the odds#woe woe etc#in more sad news there's still no sign of Holly or Otis#fat bear week
