somehow pre-ep-2 i thought the show couldn't get that much more gay? and i couldn't project that much more onto the characters? boy oh boy was i wrong :/

how could they make the tie scene more gay with context? how?

pompeii…literally a date. loki gets to let loose, mobius gets to push a bit against the rules, they both get emotional nourishment. date.

"I'll give you two options, and you can believe whichever one you want. A, because I see a scared little boy, shivering in the cold. And you kinda feel bad for that ice runt. Or B, I just wanna catch this guy, and I'll tell you whatever I need to tell you." mobius likes to think he's made a smart play here. now loki can't say no to him, because the scared-little-boy part we all know he has is latching onto any semblance of validation/acceptance/safety he can get, and the i'm-totally-logical-and-have-everything-handled part sees mobius's manipulation as see-through, so mobius doesn't seem like the kind of partner loki can't vanquish easily if need be, so he wouldn't be making himself vulnerable by working with him. but what mobius can't get through his skull yet is that he himself is torn between options A and B. even ravonna is like, "mobius you're head over heels in love with loki, get over it and do the job", and mobius is like, "i'm absolutely doing this because of the job. totally absolutely completely. why would you possibly think i desired anything outside of the welfare of the timeline?" as much as he wants to tell himself this is desparation he sees a kindred spirit in loki, and he can't really explore that within the tva's bounds *screams into bucket*

the jet ski monologue is making me ballistic. mobius goes, "i like jet skis, so i keep the magazine, even though i'll never ride a jet ski, because it reminds me what i'm fighting for." mobius we both know that's bullshit. you secretly want to ride a jet ski and you keep running on the infinite treadmill of life staring at this stupid photo of a jet ski for the same reason gymgoers stare at photos of dwayne johnson — because the only way to keep going is convincing yourself the pain will all be worth it, you'll achieve some reward, some meaning in the end. day by day you're realizing that this is the end, there is no light at the end of the tunnel, it's a lie you made up to keep yourself sane :)
