-Emmrich, Neve and Rook are staggered by the sheer size and scale of the blackthorne library. but Neve goes to scout disturbances in the other wing.

-Rook finds a 50 year old single malt behind a glass case.

Emmrich: “i think not, my dear” taking it out of their hand, “that might be haunted or worse. and besides…stealing? bad form.”

Rook: *moving closer* “so you’re—not tempted. not even a little bit by a taste of the forbidden?”

Emmrich: *narrowing his eyes*

Rook: “and you couldn’t be persuaded with say,” they pull a nicely kept leather bound volume with gold embossing from behind their back to read the inside cover, “a first edition of The Fade and Spirits Mysterious by Brother Genetivi— with original marginalia?”

Emmrich: 😳

Rook: 😏

Emmrich: “That volume has been missing from the Necropolis library since 9.51….Perhaps we might return it to circulation.”

-Neve returns and the two of them are acting weird. One of Emmrich’s top vest buttons is undone and Rook keeps adjusting their coat in a futile attempt to conceal a trail of hickies from collarbone to ear.
