i’m so in love with the couple’s counselling au. it is already an all time favorite of mine - everything about it is so good. the little holiday fic breaks my heart so much, poor obiwan oh my god i want to chop a lock of anakin’s hair and braid it and give it to obiwan. obiwan 🥺

ok but real talk couples counseling au Anakin probably agonizes over how he can make this better well past their trip to Alderaan he’s like constantly thinking about it he’s giving himself stress ulcers because he hurt obi-wan so bad !! and he can never take it back !!!

I think it culminates with anakin finding a very beautiful gold and copper braided bracelet and spending all his Jedi credits on it (and some of padme’s credits as well but it’s for a good cause she would support he thinks!!!) and carving little tokens to hang from its loosest links, each token corresponding with a mission they went on together once anakin became a Knight, to symbolize how maybe he can’t ever give him the padawan braid, but obi-wan’s influence in his life extends past his apprenticeship—they’re braided together, equals now, facing their greatest challenges and most celebrated victories together, see, master? Look this one is the gundark nest I fished you out of!!

and of course he gives it to obi-wan on the anniversary of the day he was Knighted, and obi-wan (sniffling, incredibly touched) is like “will you ever let the damn gundark nest go anakin???”
