I submitted something about the structure of one of my fanclans a little while ago and thought it’d be fun to submit the rest of them! Just more brief descriptions than super detailed. I’d love it if you took a look!
Sorry this took so long to respond to, the size was a bit intimidating, but lets do this!
I’m also quickly noting that there’s a lot of things here that cats can’t do. Most notably, crafting, which here includes weaving, tying, etc. I know it’s unrealistic, I just can’t be bothered to care. And I know the map is a little empty right now, I’m workin’ on it.
You do you, if you want realism thats okay, if you dont, thats okay too! Just make sure in universe you are consistent, because thats where things can get awkward.
To make things a little more understandable, let’s say these cats have more human-like paws. Think how paws are used in MAPs - the cats can point, make expressions with them, etc. They’re still paws, but can be used in more productive ways.
That doesnt seem like too much of a stretch, and that would make several things more easily possible.
The three clans - ForestClan, SeaClan, and CliffClan - are known (to me, at least), as ‘The Coastal Clans.’ The geography and aesthetic is supposed to match that of a Northwestern coast - think Northern California and Oregon. It’s cold, foggy, and wet most of the time. ForestClan inhabits a temperate redwood rainforest, SeaClan prowls the beaches and the ocean, and CliffClan claims the cliffs that overlook the beaches and ocean (as well as the meadows above the cliffs).
Seems like a good premise, and you can use some irl locations for inspiration and to help flesh it out.
SeaClan, as said, claims the beaches and the sea as their territory. They are powerful swimmers, with thick, water-resistant fur to keep them warm when in the water. They have big, webbed paws that help propel them underwater. Unlike the canon water clan, RiverClan, who do quite a bit of their fishing at the surface of the water, SeaClan dive for their food. They do, of course, eat lots of fish, but a good portion of their food is also plucked from the sea floor - including clams, sea urchins, and oysters. Plenty of their food is found on the shore, too, though - they often dig for clams and crabs, and pry mussels off rocks.
This is actually really cool cause it makes use of their extra dexterity and ability.
SeaClan, like ForestClan, does not have a conventional leading system, nor do the cats have a StarClan. Instead of one leader, SeaClan has two - the Tidecaller and the Moonsinger (these just being titles, leaders will still keep their normal names). The Moonsinger is the more conventional of the two leaders. The Moonsinger is in charge of all the usual stuff: naming ceremonies, assigning mentors, leading the clan through hardship. The Tidecaller, however, is the spiritual leader. They are the one in charge of spiritual ceremonies - ascension to leadership, naming ceremonies for kits, etc. - as well as interpreting the will and signs of the sea. It is not common for the Moonsinger to receive visions or prophecies. Another notable difference is the leadership ceremony - when one becomes one of the leaders of SeaClan, they are ritually drowned.. And if they survive the ordeal (all leaders in recent history have survived), it’s a sign they have been approved of by the sea and gifted their nine lives (both gain nine lives). There is still a medicine cat, it’s just that the spiritual aspect is removed from the role.
So far Seaclan is distinct from most water-based clans and I appreciate its culture. Part of me wonders what originally led for the leadership to be split up, but the imagery makes sense.
SeaClan refers to ‘The Sea’ as their deity. As it is the basis of their entire lives, from birth to death, it is worshiped and respected greatly. Part of the respect, undoubtedly, comes from fear - though most, if not all SeaClan cats love the ocean, it’d be hard to deny how scary it can be. How vast, deep, and dark it is. It could take your life away in a heartbeat, drown you or drag you out to sea with no mercy (a quick note here: these cats also have some knowledge of a crude version of CPR - and yes, it is a lesson all apprentices must learn). They believe it is important to respect the waves - as it should then respect you back. If Sharkbait was dragged out by the riptide, he was not giving the sea the respect it deserved - perhaps he turned his back to the waves for a little too long. The other side of their religion, or their other deity, would be the Moon, as the moon pushes and pulls the tides. It’s not worshipped nearly as much as The Sea, but SeaClan cats still recognize its importance. Hence, we have the 'Moon'singer and the 'Tide'caller. SeaClan cats do not know of the afterlife, but dead cats are ‘buried’ at sea. If a SeaClan cat is not buried at sea, they believe they will then never walk in the afterlife - instead, they will be cursed to wander the land as a ghost and will never be allowed to return to the ocean. However, this has only proven to be a problem for evil cats (who don’t deserve the respect) or SeaClan cats that join other clans.
Okay right two deities, two leaders, makes sense. So far Seaclan seems to have a cohesive religion, nice.
As for trading, although their skill or style is not quite as refined as the other clans, SeaClan’s crafts are highly sought after for the materials used. Pearls, shells, sea glass, starfish, driftwood - most of their materials used are considered quite beautiful. Don’t tell the SeaClan cats, but most of their things end up getting taken apart to be repurposed for other jewelry, clothing, or other adornments.
I suppose the trade off of precious materials/lower refinement makes sense, although part of me worries that it could be used as a way to look down on this clan as less-civilized which could be a bit uncomfy.
(On the map)
Mussel Rock - a rather large rock that is covered in mussels. A great place for food.
Tide Rocks - a large clump of rocks that are often used for sunbathing or recreational swimming. They’re also a great place to dive for hunting. They’re called the Tide Rocks because they’re sometimes impossible to get to or stand on because of a high tide, or can just be walked right on to during a low tide.
Shell Shore - a corner of the beach that is absolutely covered with shells. Not only shells, but driftwood, sea glass, pretty rocks, starfish. A common place to get crafting materials. Apprentices often spend hours poring over the choices, trying to figure out the best one to give to their crush.
The Falls - another sort of recreational spot. It’s good for teaching younger apprentices how to swim without taking them into the ocean, and a great source of fresh water.
SeaClan kits have the suffix -shell, apprentices have the suffix -shore. SeaClan leaders do not take a unique suffix.
I currently do not have any plans for the leaders, deputies, or medicine cat.
And, for fun, a song or two for SeaClan’s aesthetic/vibe: Ghost on the Shore by Lord Huron, and Fire by Noah Gunderson.
Looks good so far!
Next up is CliffClan!
CliffClan inhabit the golden grassy meadows above the cliffs, as well as the cliffs themselves. Compared to the other clans, they are seen as rather laid-back and carefree. Hippies, basically. Typically, they’re lighter in color - lilac, yellow, golden, pale brown, pale grey - and are leaner. Hunting takes place both on the cliffs and in the meadows for CliffClan cats. On the cliffs, birds and birds’ eggs make great meals, and in the meadows, rabbits, mice, ground birds, and other creatures are quite common. Even the occasional squirrel, though they’re typically caught dangerously close to ForestClan’s borders. CliffClan territory gets much more sunlight than other territories and is typically a fair bit warmer. The camp is underneath a great, ancient willow tree - the hanging leaves create a natural partition and protect the cats underneath from rain, wind, hail and whatever else the world might throw at them. The borders (where the leaves hang) have been reinforced with bramble to create a more secure and clear camp. There are two partings/entrances in the camp, one to the territory, and another to an outdoor camp. The outdoor part of camp isn’t too reliable during storms, but for cats who prefer sleeping under the stars or want to nap in the sun, it’s perfect. It also smells rather nice, as the medicine cat keeps an herb garden in a portion of the outdoor camp.
Cliffclan territory and camp sounds lovely!  Although willows do tend to grow closer to water or wetter land and since it looks like Cliffclan territory doesnt have a lot of trees, it is a bit odd for this one massive willow to exist on its own, particularly away from water. Maybe move it near to a little pond or lake? Or set it in a small group of willows in some wetlands? But thats up to you, and you did mention the map wasn’t complete so I may not have the full picture.
Rather than worshipping a deity, to CliffClan, nature is divine. All life is interconnected. Each piece of nature is itself, it’s own being, and they have no need to apply fancy names or powers to them. The sun brings warmth and light, the wind carries the scent of prey and salt, the rain brings water and cool refreshment after the hot months. Respect and love all parts of nature. “Hear the voice that sings to everything that always has and always will.”
Definitely sounds a little hippy lol. But it fits them well I think.
CliffClan’s main crafts include weaving, feathers, and ‘tools.’ Dry grass and reeds are woven together to create bracelets/anklets, chokers, and blankets. Feathers are often tucked into those as well. They also weave small baskets that can be used by the medicine cat to hold herbs, or woven grass pouches that can be worn over the body to collect things. One example is the pouches being used to hold eggs as CliffClan cats collect them from birds’ nests. CliffClan has the best technique for weaving by far, making their woven items highly sought after.
I like that they have the ability to collect and organize, it could be cool if different clan members had their own little collections or weaving patterns. They seem to be more independent and chill to have the time to do more things for pleasure.
(On the map)
The Ponds - a nice spot for cats to relax. It’s a good hunting spot and wonderful swimming spot. Sometimes there’ll even be a fish to catch!
Out of the three clans, CliffClan’s appointment system is the most similar to the canon clans’. Kits are still -kit, apprentices are still -paw. There is still a deputy and medicine cat. However, leaders do not take a special suffix.
CliffClan’s current leader is Brightsun, a seemingly soft-spoken tom with a missing hind leg. His aura is very friendly and warm - one can tell he was chosen to be leader because of his undying kindness and love for his clanmates, not because of his battle skills. He has a himbo husband mate, Hawkheart, and four adopted kits: Thunderpaw, Stormpaw, Rainpaw, and Windpaw.
CliffClan’s deputy has not yet been decided.
CliffClan’s medicine cat is Ripplestream, a former SeaClan warrior. He’s a bit skittish, and just a tad shy. But he truly does love his craft, and, so far, hasn’t looked back on his decision to leave SeaClan. Brightsun and Ripplestream are particularly close, since Brightsun was his mentor (he used to be the medicine cat - you may think, medicine cat to leader? that’s kinda cringe bro. i’m here to strangle cringe culture with my bare hands, and, Brightsun’s whole backstory will be submitted at a later date).
Its not that cringe, its just curious. Is that a normal thing? How do Cliffclan choose their leaders?
CliffClan’s head monarch is Primroseclaw, former deputy. She retired after she found a mate - her desire was always to serve her clan, and there were other ways to do so than becoming leader. She’s very caring with kits, but strict with adult cats, as they should know better. Primroseclaw is Brightsun’s maternal aunt.
I don’t necessarily see this as an issue as long as there isnt the implication that motherhood as a female is the ultimate way to serve, as that can be alienating for those who cant or dont want to birth or raise kits. But I mean all power to her if that was what she wanted.
CliffClan’s song/aesthetic: The Well by Woodland.
Lastly, there’s ForestClan! These cats inhabit the temperate redwood rainforest, and are generally seen as the most ‘mysterious,’ because they’re literally shrouded by the darkness of the trees. Typically, ForestClan cats are big and muscular, typically long-furred with darker pelts. Brown is especially common, as well as black and tortoiseshell. Ginger cats are seen as a bit prettier, and, depending on the times, white cats can be seen as beautiful or as a bad omen (it’s harder to hunt in the dark forest with a white pelt). They hunt all sorts of forest creatures, such as squirrels, mice, chipmunks, racoons, rabbits, etc. ForestClan cats are even known to take down animals as big as deer. This is only done on rare occasions - such as for a Gathering or in times of great hunger - but it’s still quite the impressive feat.
Deer are a pretty big thing to take on, Im curious how they do it. If they can take on deer, does this mean that other more natural to their size predators (foxes, badgers, coyotes, etc) aren’t as much of an issue?
I explained the deities and system in another post, but I’ll go over it briefly. ForestClan has three deities - The Sisters - who live on their territory in the form of three ancient, enormous redwood trees. Maieth is the largest tree, and the eldest sister. The leader who represents her duty to ForestClan is called Maieth’s Ward. The second eldest, the dead tree, is Kenoake, the leader who represents her is called Kenoake’s Ward. And the youngest sister, the smallest tree, Aerin - the leader who represents her, is, you guessed it, called Aerin’s Ward. The leaders’ deputies are more like apprentices who have to learn the ins and outs of their role, as there is much more to it than keeping everybody safe from harm.
Oh yes I remember that post. Its all coming together now.
ForestClan’s crafts are also highly sought after, as they make the most use from clay, bones, and paints. Crafts also pay a larger role in clan life to ForestClan than in the other clans. All kits are given necklaces when they’re born, each with a clay bead and a piece of bark from each of the Sisters strung on it. For each event in their life - their apprentice ceremony, their warrior ceremony, a particularly impressive catch, officially becoming mates with another cat, etc. they gain another bead and another piece of bark (from the tree that best pertains to the event; ceremonial from Kenoake, becoming a parent from Maieth, gaining apprentice from Aerin). Necklaces can be decorated with feathers, bones, etc. is the cat so wishes. For special ceremonies, ForestClan cats decorate themselves with ‘paint’ made from crushed berries or mud. They also have special bone wear - tied together with sinew, they drape bones over their pelts, such as rib bones. Leaders wear the skulls of killed deer during ceremonies.
I like the idea of the beads and bark based on what happens during their lives, its a really nice way to remember and give meaning.
ForestClan cats don’t wear as much ‘clothing’ as SeaClan or CliffClan, their specialty lies in more decorative crafts. One of which is their bone wind chimes, put together with sinew, sticks, and clay. This is especially popular with CliffClan, who enjoy placing them on the branches of the Great Willow. ForestClan’s camp is thoroughly decorated with them, and they’re also used as markers in the woods so cats don’t get lost. Their other especially popular craft is clay bowls. These are great for medicine cats to store their herbs, or to carry fresh water to camp. ForestClan cats also use them to store and crush berries to be used as paint.
Wait wait, clothing? I didnt realize the other clans wore a form of clothing. Why do they wear clothing? Is it to protect themselves, to better carry tools? As for the bone wind chimes, thats a lovely image, both haunting and beautiful to think that these cats have the knowledge to understand and enjoy music.
(On the map)
Mossy Hollow - a soft area for sparring and learning to climb. The mossy ground makes it so, if they fall, it’s not too rough. The springiness also makes it a great spot to practice leaps and fighting/hunting moves. The pond is a great source of fresh water, and the light shining through the trees makes it a good spot to sunbathe.
ForestClan kits are called -sprout, and apprentices are called -sap (sapling). Leaders do not take a special suffix.
This is super cute, I love these suffixes.
Maieth’s Ward has not been decided, nor has their deputy/apprentice.
Kenoake’s Ward has not been decided. Konoake’s Ward’s deputy/apprentice is Butterflywood, a very gentle cat. They are a bit accident prone, a bit.. Out there. They seem a little odd, but are quite kind, especially to curious kits and apprentices.
Aerin’s Ward has not been decided. Aerin’s Ward’s deputy/apprentice is Cinderspark, a very spunky, eccentric she-cat. She’s quite small for a ForestClan cat, but has very good reflexes and is fast. She’s very excitable as well - I don’t think anyone will be getting over her extremely rambunctious response to becoming deputy anytime soon. Even though she finds it a bit hard to focus sometimes, Aerin’s Ward cited she’d be a great fit for the role - she’s practically Aerin reincarnated!
Vibes: Cocoa Hooves by Glass Animals
As for other details:
Having mates outside of your clan is not forbidden, but it’s taboo - more like an unspoken rule. Both inter clan relationships and half clan kits are frowned upon.. But there’s no punishment for it, save for perhaps the disapproving reaction of one’s clanmates. Medicine cats can have mates and kits.
‘Star’ is a perfectly acceptable prefix. ‘Paw’ is used as more of an insult or to make fun - such as calling someone Heavypaws for being too loud while hunting, or saying someone’s a Wetpaw for falling into the river/pond/ocean. CliffClan cats don’t use this very much, for obvious reasons.
Interesting, but does open up the ability to make names with star as both prefix and suffix I suppose.
Cats may also leave their clans to join another, if they wish. Again, it’s not forbidden, but it’s.. Odd. Chances are the cat would be then hated by their own clan and an outcast in their new one (well, save for CliffClan, they’re probably the most welcoming of all). The other issue is that of a culture shock - unlike the canon clans, where, if it weren’t for the territory differences, would be just about all the same, the Coastal Clans are quite different. The different territory, leadership system, naming system, etc. might all be a bit tricky to get the hang of. There’s also the issue of the afterlife - where will they go? For example, for Ripplestream, he’s incredibly scared that since he won’t be buried at sea.. Will he be cursed to live as a ghost for the rest of his existence? Will he be taken in by whatever afterlife is offered to CliffClan? It’s all awfully frightening. It makes the issue of switching clans one that needs careful consideration.
I feel like hearing Ripplestream’s background would also help to understand some of the smaller details of this. But it does make sense that it would be odd. These clans dont seem to be aggressive or territorial so it does make sense that they might not react as badly as they could to cats moving clans. Most of the stress seems to fall on whoever is moving, as they would have to learn to live a whole new way of life.
There is no communal gathering spot - each moon, a different clan will host the gathering. CliffClan often hosts the gatherings at The Ponds, ForestClan at the Mossy Hollow, and SeaClan at The Falls. Gatherings are less formal events held by the clans to report of new apprentices, kits, findings, etc. They’re fun! Gatherings are often all day events, full of competitive games (sparring, hunting contests - medicine cats even have herbal trivia competitions), chatting, gossip, trading, and eating. Each clan brings prey and crafts from their own territory. These Gatherings are held bi-monthly, on the day of the full moon.
Each clan often comes dressed their best - SeaClan with their shells, ForestClan with their bones and paint smeared on their fur, CliffClan with their woven wear. Of course, by the end of the Gathering, most of this is put aside as the cats get more comfortable with each other.
So Im curious as to why the gatherings even happen. Was there some kind of war way back in the past which requried a peace settlement? Was it cultures seeking a way to trade and congregate together so a monthly gathering was a good way to do that? So far seems like you have thought through this quite well. Thanks for the submission!

Hello popping back on tumblr for the first time in a while to promo these two warriors fics I’ve started publishing on wattpad!
I’ve been writing oc-centric warriors fan fiction since i started reading the books as a kid but some friends finally convinced me to start publishing it because it was driving me insane that I couldn’t talk about it with anyone.
The first one, “The Winter Trees”, is the one I’ve spent the longest one. It’s based on two fan Clans me and one of my best friends made as kids, using, yes, the original set of cats we created. That means there’s a couple odd names in there (mostly from me) but over the years I’ve adjusted stories, personalities, and lore to make things work.
“The Winter Trees” follows ForestClan and IceClan, two Clans that formed after a group of SkyClan cats, angry with how Cloudstar handled being run out, left and found a valley by the lake. Now the other four Clans have arrived, but they keep the story of SkyClan a secret in honour of Firestar’s wishes. This story follows ForestClan and IceClan as they live with the four Clans, experiencing much of the same struggles, but also many of their own. The current arc, ‘The Great Battle’, focuses on a few cats in each Clan as the Great Battle looms over the horizon.
The second is “Lotus of the Three Waters”, a sort of “what-if” scenario I wrote up for a group of Clans living in coastal Asia.
It follows LeafClan, MountainClan, and MarshClan and their own prophecies and stories. They do not have any overlap with the main Clans aside from an ancient tale of a warrior of another Clan finding themselves taken by Tall-legs and taken to a new home. The current arc, ‘Fangs’, focuses on a mysterious omen sent to apprentices in each of the Clans, and their struggle to try and get their Clans to believe them.
Both stories can be found here! They’re updated infrequently, but I try my best to update both with a chapter each on the same day.

ForestClan
Tumblr media
-- Territory
ForestClan nestled in the heart of the Valley’s great encroaching forest - filled with trees that bore peculiar roots that seemed to snake and claw their way up from the earth. These trees sometimes grow in odd, twisted formations from their undisturbed growth over a very long time. Thick undergrowth blanketed the floor and a great canopy of leaves trap humidity inside.
Now, after the Great Fire, only about half of this beautiful forest remains.
The forest is full of springs and wells of water, sometimes erupting from between the thick tree roots. Herbs and other plantlife are plentiful here, growing strong in sunlight shafts on the forest floor.
-- Camp
ForestClan makes their camp deep within the forest, against a steep ravine. Thick tree roots burst from the ravine’s side, forming the framework of ForestClan’s dens. Their camp also boasts a sparkling spring, bubbling from just outside their seer’s den. It is likely the most beautiful of the Valley Clan’s camps.
Their leader makes announcements from atop a tree that had fallen long ago, his trunk resting against the ravine wall while its roots splay up to form their leader’s den. This tree is called the Resting Oak.
ForestClan splits their dens between the different ranks in their Clan - their camp is large and spacious and has plenty of room to do so. Mated pairs sleep together, sleeping among special feathers they brought one another to symbolize their courtship.
-- Spirituality
ForestClan cats bear what can be called an average sense of spirituality - they believe in StarClan, but do not take it as seriously as FlameClan or OceanClan does, nor do they treat it with suspicion as MountainClan does. ForestClan’s relationship with StarClan was somewhat complicated by the Great Fire, and Flamestar’s Rebellion - as the Great Fire was seen as a punishment from StarClan, most ForestClan cats see StarClan as vengeful and petty.
Clan seers are respected and listened to, but are considered the same rank as a deputy. The signs they interpret are often treated with wariness, out of a deep bitterness and fear of another Great Fire.
-- Personality / Appearance
ForestClan cats are haughty and proud to their cores - once, they ruled over half the Valley, after all! Why wouldn’t they be prideful? They tend to be quick-witted and cunning, as the dense overgrowth of their territory requires clever traversal.
ForestClan boasts all ranges of pelt colors, though whites are often fretted over due to how they stand out against the green. Plumy tails and tufted ears are signs of beauty, as are deeply mottled tortoiseshell pelts. Green eyes are considered very lucky.
-- Hunting / Fighting
ForestClan cats stalk their prey, and keep light on their paws as they run the risk of snapping a twig and startling their mice or shrew or bird. Occasionally, rabbits will stray into the forest from FlameClan territory, but they are difficult to hunt over the thick tree roots. The occasional ForestClan warrior enjoys a fish from the delta.
The ancient ForestClan warrior Nightbreeze developed ForestClan’s hunting skills, and her descendants are cited as the best hunters in all the Clans.
ForestClan’s fighting style takes advantage of the fact that their Clan is the only Clan to brave the massive trees they call home - often they conduct surprise ambushes from above. Warriors sharpen their claws on the thick tree bark of their forest, and ForestClan warriors are known to sometimes coat their sharpened claws with certain plants in order to cause more pain to their adversaries.
Due to living in such clustered conditions, however, ForestClan warriors are almost useless in open fields or the mountains.
-- History
ForestClan was founded by a loner named Forest, who once lived in the woods behind a Twolegplace with a group of loyal cats. After a visit from a kittypet named Ocean, Forest gathered his cats and trekked to the Valley, becoming Foreststar beneath the Celestial Tree.
Foreststar’s deft tongue led his Clan to owning half of the Valley as their own, causing the ire of Mountainstar, whose Clan often tried to attack theirs for territory. However, Foreststar was clever and learned to use his territory to his Clan’s advantage.
Winning battles and sleeping full-bellied in leafbare while the other Clans struggled made Foreststar - and ForestClan - vain and proud throughout the years. For a time, Foreststar’s bloodline were the only cats allowed to reign as leader in ForestClan - until Flameheart.
Flameheart saw in his dreams a great tragedy, but his father, the current leader of ForestClan, did not believe him. Soon StarClan punished ForestClan for their arrogance, setting half of their beloved forest ablaze. Flameheart took half of ForestClan - including their seer - and moved to the ashen remains and attempted to form a new Clan.
ForestClan tried to stop this rebellion, but Flamestar rose and, with OceanClan’s help, so did FlameClan. Flamestar’s Rebellion is cited as the only time ForestClan and MountainClan worked together in a common goal.
Now ForestClan shares a deep rivalry with FlameClan, causing their northern borders to shift almost constantly. Nearly every generation there is an attempt to bring FlameClan to heel, but is always fails.
Foreststar was known as the cat that created the political parts of the warrior code, and the first ForestClan seer Larkleap was known for discovering and developing the cures for whitecough, yellowcough, greencough, blackcough, and redcough, sharing them with the other Clans despite the disapproval of her mate, Foreststar.

My Warriors Timeline
yeah im bored so im just putting in my Warrior Cats Timeline
----
CheetahClan is created, an ancient clan from centuries ago(like TigerClan, LionClan ect.). Last leader of this clan was Spotstar.
----
Bird Claw, a brown tom is told by Spotstar to create the ancients. He found a group of cats and created it.
----
Badger Fang was the cat to lead the ancients out of the home they lived, creating The Tribe of Flowing Trees. He is the first Stoneteller
----
The 6th Stoneteller was recieved a prophecy about a cat leaving and creating a group beyond the tribe. Unknowingly, this was going to be a cat from the group named Leaf from Forest Tree.
----
Leaf, who is an adult, leaves and renames herself as Forest. She is told by an ancient cat, whom existed for eternally named Dusk to create ForestClan. Her and Dusk start to have an relationship with each other.
----
Forest created ForestClan. her first deputy was Tawnybranch, her first medicine cat was Moonpool. She had around 17 warriors at the start. She had renamed herself Foreststar.
----
The 4th medicine cat, Specklebelly, found out about the Moonflower and about StarClan, as well as about the code.
----
The 20th leader, Brightstar and deputy Flameclaw, both died from an dog attack on camp, as well as Brightstar losing the last life she had. Three warriors, Mountainpelt, Lagoonheart, and Plateautail each agreed to split into three groups. They also took 1 medicine cat with them, since there was three of them.
---
Mountainpelt, Lagoonheart, and Plateautail created MountainClan, LagoonClan, and PlateauClan.
----
After years of them each existing, Cloverstar, the 6th leader of PlateauClan, after Vinestar died, lead PlateauClan to an battle against LagoonClan. Which Cerisentstar wasn't pleased of Cloverstar's sudden attack and sent her deputy, Flamefire and a patrol to attack the group of cats.
----
Flamefire died on the battle, Quailgaze became the next deputy of LagoonClan. Ray, a kittypet joined LagoonClan and became Raypaw. He trained and soon became Rayheart.
----
PlateauClan was suddenly washed out by an large fire, causing StarClan to send out omens to each of the clans, before a tom from MountainClan, named Nightfur was set out on a journey to recreate PlateauClan. Ebonyheart, the deputy of MountainClan told him to not go. He refused and went anyways.
----
Nightfur recreated PlateauClan and became known at Nightstar. Ebonystar wanted to form an alliance with him, only for Nightstar to disagree, causing a large tension between the two clans. Nightstar had sent patrols to fight with Ebonystar's patrols. Ebonystar obiously not wanting this, had to do the same. Ebonystar loved his brother dearly, but it seemed that Nightstar wasn't the same as he used to be.
---
The tension was still together, a PlateauClan warrior named Darkfur went to visit a she-cat from MountainClan named Nightshade. They both were in love and had two she-kits named Snowkit and Lunarkit. Unfortunately, Nightshade died from bloodloss during kitting. Darkfur took his kits to PlateauClan and told Nightstar, who wasn't pleased and forced him to take apprentice duties, while a queen poorly raised Snowkit and Lunarkit. They both grown up to be Snowfield and Lunarshadow.
----
Nightstar made Lunarshadow his deputy, soon though nearly the entire clan died from an spreading illness. This also killed Nightstar as well, making Lunarshadow the next leader of PlateauClan. The newer medicine cat, Mothsnout successfully made all the rest of the remaining cats in the clan healed up. Lunarstar also had kits, naming them Darkkit, Stormkit, and Rainkit. When they each became apprentices, Stormpaw got killed from an adderbite, making the leader depressed. Rainpaw and Darkpaw earned their names, Rainstreak and Darkshadow
----
Ebonystar died and Dappleleaf, now Dapplestar became the next leader of MountainClan. Ebonystar and Nightstar reunited in StarClan and made amends.
----
Quailgaze from LagoonClan was killed, only to find out that it was Grayclaw who killed both Quailgaze and Flamefire so he could become deputy. Cerisentstar was furious and banished him, as well as Darkthorn, who was one of his followers. Rayheart became the next deputy of LagoonClan.
----
Cerisentstar soon died and went to StarClan, reuniting with her PlateauClan mate Dustjaw and her dead daughter SIlverclaw. Raystar became the next leader, Marigoldpelt becoming his mate and they both had kits named Redkit and Morningkit. They both became Redpellt and Morningberry.
----
Raystar assigned Stoneridge as his next deputy after Reedtail stepped down. Grayclaw, now known as Evilclaw was killed by Raystar after he tried to ambush his camp with a group of rogues. Darkthorn was also killed.
----
Marigoldpelt and Raystar had another kit named Shallowkit, who became apprenticed to the medicine cat Honeyheart. She became Shallowbreeze.
----
Shallowbreeze fell in love with Cypressclaw and had a kit with him, named Tawnykit, unfortunately it was against the code so she had to have Morningberry to raise Tawnykit. Tawnykit became Tawnyleaf, and Shallowbreeze still loves her daughter as much as she did when she was born.
----
Yarrowflight and Redstripe, two warriors of the clan had a litter of kits named Darkkit, Stormkit, and Whitekit. They each became Darkshade, Stormfrost, and Whitepelt.
----
Whitepelt had an evil ambition and killed Honeyheart after secretly following her and Shallowbreeze to the moonflower, telling Shallowbreeze she would kill her too if she told the clan about this. StarClan had watched the whole thing, not happy about what he had done.
---
Whitepelt soon had an ambition to become leader, trying to kill Stoneridge while they were alone. Darkshade, noticing this, fought his brother, unfortunately nearly killing him. Whitepelt thought he was dead, about to strike Stoneridge, until Darkshade suddenly killed Whitepelt with a killing strike, killing off the cruel tom once and for all.
----
Lunarstar's old deputy, Moonfur, died from greencough and she made her son, Darkshadow become the next deputy of PlateauClan.
----
Lunarstar soon died, Darkshadow becoming the next leader and becoming known as Darkstar.
END OF TIMELINE FOR NOW

📓 ! For the ask game! :3
*cracks knuckles* ooh boy I'm sorry if this gets long
This is likely to change in several aspects but this is of basic idea.
Dapplepaw (medcat) of newly formed DarkClan receives a prophecy from Waterstar, the first WaterClan leader, saying that darkness will kindle the flames. Meanwhile the other Clans insist the DarkClan not go near an empty territory bc they think it's cursed. Dapple decides she wants to know what's there and explores it with her sister Thornpaw. She meets a ghost named Whitebone in a cave filled with ancient bones/nests and White explains that this used to be FireClan, and that the other Clans were once one big Clan called ForestClan. And that part of ForestClan attacked, driving out some of FireClan and trapping the rest. Whitebone explains that he is FireClan's "Keeper", a cat who is meant to protect his deceased Clanmates. He tells Dapple to go help his remaining Clan as he believes they're still existing years later. Dapple decides to tell her dad Darkstar who agrees to help restore FireClan.
They meet a dude named Tide who introduces them to some cats that worship star cats as well. He somehow knows Whitebone and FireClan and helps convince the others to go back to the FC territory. Dapple is concerned bc he puts extra emphasis on helping FC's ancestor spirits as they are in danger. They return and the Clan begins to settle and rebuild but are kind of unwanted and whatnot.
Dapplepaw becomes Dapplefoot and learns that FireClan's ancient deceased have been barred from StarClan by Whitebone and are fading fast. He does not want them to join StarClan because he blames StarClan. Waterstar reveals that she led the attack but she had chosen to fade and that most of the cats who attacked FC in the first place are long gone either in the Dark Forest or have faded from StarClan by choice. The FireClan spirits are desperately trying to escape into StarClan lest they fade prematurely.
Tide reveals he is a reincarnation of Whitebone's apprentice and convinces him to free FireClan bc those that hurt them are gone and it's time to let tgem decide what is best for them. Whitebone decides that yeah maybe they deserve some time in the afterlife and says "cool okay Tide you're gonna be the new Keeper" and then releases his hold and keeps to his cave as his old Clanmates decide where they want to go. The modern FireClan spirits that nested with the reformed group join StarClan. Waterstar fades and reincarnates. Dapplefoot learns that she has been chosen to be DarkClan's Keeper upon her death.
Meanwhile Whitebone gets to reunite with some old Clanmates and fade peacefully over time, soon reincarnating. FireClan reforms and maintains a sort of allyship with DarkClan but do still often keep to themselves. Dapplefoot does become DarkClan's keeper upon her death and this is eventually passed onto her apprentice Clearwhisker once she fades.
I'm sorry that's so long but I cannot give small summaries for the life of me.

ForestClan's Deities + Leaders
Hi! I’d like to thank you for at least glancing over this post, even if you post it or not. This is a little bit about the deities of ForestClan (there’s no StarClan) and the leadership roles in the clan that reflect the deities! Just a note, the deities don’t have proper names yet, just titles.
Delightful! I’m excited to see what you have!
The Sisters are ForestClan’s deities. Within their territory - they actually make their camp around the bases - there are three ancient, massive redwood trees. They believe that they have always been a part of the earth and will always remain a part of the earth. The Sisters have been there long before ForestClan, and will be there until they are no more.
Oh I like this a lot. It really entwines the religion with clan in such a tangible way that everyone can experience.
The biggest tree, the eldest sister, is the protector of the clan. She is motherly love, her judgement never clouded, and the ultimate authority. She is the wisest of The Sisters. Physically, she appears/is represented by a stoic, but soft-eyed she cat with clean, well-kept fur.
The second largest tree, which is also dead - is the middle sister. She is believed to commit some sort of ancient wrong, and was cursed with a dead, rotting form. The middle sister is the patron of the dead and funeral rites, as well as medicine. Physically, she is the most grotesque of the sisters, represented by a living corpse, flesh and bone barely held together by muscle and fur, with wide, empty eyes that stare into you, not at you.
Ohohoho I like this a lot, nicely macabre but also an important lesson and reverence for life and death. You may mention this later, but I am curious as to what they think she did to deserve this form.
The smallest tree is the youngest sister. While her sisters take on more serious roles, the youngest sister is representative of creativity, humor, and light-heartedness. She’s the patron deity of kits and apprentices, and encourages cats to not forget where they came from. She is represented in the form of an apprentice-aged kitten with redwood needles in her fur; spunky, clumsy, and certainly not serious.
I always appreciate deities which represent the young, learning, creativity, some of the lighter aspects of life. For the clans who experience so much intensity in their day to day lives, its nice to have a deity watching oevr them to bring them joy.
To represent each of The Sisters, ForestClan has three leaders who work together to run the clan.
The main leader of the clan is the leader who represents the eldest sister. They look over the clan and are its main protector. This leader is responsible for sending out hunting patrols, camp repairs/improvements, and generally making sure every cat has had their needs tended to. They also serve as a mediator for conflicts both inside and out of the clan. Hemlockheart is complaining about a leak in the elder’s den? It’s this leader’s job to make sure that fix is taken care of. Frogbark and Newtfoot are having an argument again? It’s this leader’s job to act as a third party and resolve the conflict peacefully.
Okay yeah this definitely gives off big sister vibes, and I like it a lot! Part of me also wonders if these cats are also known as good fighters, so that they can protect the clan, but deliberately try to choose a non-agressive way to resolve things, and keep their strength solely as a defense.
The leader who represents the middle sister is a sort of medicine cat. Sort of. They take the role of healer and spiritual guide. This leader holds the closest relationship with the spirit world. They’re responsible for healing clanmates (including acting as a therapist), overseeing ceremonies, and conducting proper funerals. If The Sisters had any messages or omens to send to ForestClan, this leader would be the one to receive them. They are also responsible for choosing which Sister will represent a new kit (it is believed to affect the kind of cat they will become, i.e. a cat represented by the eldest sister is thought to be a more grounded, protective individual). They also oversee crafts - the creation of necklaces for new kits, accessories and outfits for ceremonies and Gatherings, etc.
Oh wow there is a lot going on with this role, which is nice as long as the cat can handle it! It is kind of nice how all three sisters seem to have the same level of authority, its more even. I am fascinated by the crafts aspect! I always like to hear about people developing technology in their clans.
The leader representative of the youngest sister ensures the protection and proper rearing of the clan’s kits and apprentices. They choose mentors for apprentices, hold apprentice/warrior naming ceremonies, and oversee training. They are responsible for making sure no apprentice or kit is left behind and keeping the more ‘iffy’ (i.e. violent, skeevy, etc.) cats in check. Because of this, unless this leader is generally just.. bad at their job, most ForestClan cats are highly respectable. They also dole out any punishments or discipline.
I like this a lot! It gives kit-rearing and education the importance and respect it deserves, as well as the supervision. I feel liek this would help make the clan much safer and more functional and avoid the major bullying and abuse issues you see in canon.
Although still called deputies, these leader’s successors are more like adult apprentices. To be chosen as a deputy, much like in canon, one must have completed at least one successful apprenticeship. ForestClan tries to choose siblings as deputies - as the bond of siblings is especially held high - but this is not always the case. These deputies act as apprentices to the current leaders, learning exactly how their role as leader will function so they know what to do when the time comes. A deputy must be agreed on by the other two leaders, as well as the elders.
This is really good, I feel like deputies and leaders dont really get any... instruction? Support? Guidance? In canon, they are just chosen to do the job and uh, better hope they do it well. A system of basically apprenticeship to ensure the leaders actually know what they are doing is much more productive.
The three leaders or deputies may not have kits (unless they come into the position already as a parent, with a pregnant mate, or as already pregnant, of course). This is to try to prevent any 'blood successor’ issues. Although family is held in very high regard in ForestClan, having one family of leaders for generations upon generations is not preferable.
This is understandable, as leadership is a full time job. I also feel like it would encourage cats to maybe have families a bit younger and push back the age for becoming deputy and leader a bit as well, so that you dont get the issue of super young deputies/leaders.
The approval of all three leaders is required to declare war or non-emergency battle patrols.
Leaders gain three lives each, rather than nine.
These two make perfect sense, if its a triad, they all need to be in agreement, and splitting the lives evenly works out really well, although I imagine them losing their lives at different times could be quite traumatic. Do they all ascend together and gain lives as a group? If so, what happens if one of the leaders loses all their lives before the others?
Thanks for the lovely submission!
