Hayley snorts and rolls her eyes as she dries off the glass and puts it back in the cabinet. “ that’s right, we’re women and we clean up every mess the men in our lives make. So we should be treated with a bit more respect, don’t you think?” She questions shooting a glance over her shoulder.

The last of the ties have been tied, the gown adjusted to her measurements. There’s nothing left to do but make her way to the great hall. Her gaze travels toward Ana and she sends her a nervous smile. “You’ll walk with me, won’t you?”

Mary chuckles softly, she’s surprised too in truth. The evening is barely over and most of her night has been spent dancing with those who  requested a dance. She’s a bit tired - but she’s always enjoyed a good ball - the music, the dancing, it’s much better than being locked away with nothing to do. “ Getting there,” she comments as she turns to face the people dancing, glancing briefly at Ana out of the corner of her eyes. “No dancing for you?”

it’s a question she should probably that not answer - at least not   truthfully. she’s not supposed show weakness, she’s learned over the years that showing people your true feelings gives them a hold over you. “ at times? yes, I believe I do. ” she replies not looking at ana. “ so much has happened and there are times it feels like none of this is real and i’m still trapped and hurting.”

Mary can’t help the way her lip twitches at the corner. Ana’s words are true - and while there are times Mary wishes she can just ignore said idiots, well being a queen doesn’t allow her such liberties. “ yes, it seems there would be far less people in this castle should that be the case.” she jests back glancing at Ana. “Perhaps it’s time to retire for the evening.” It was an  excuse that they might be able to use in their favor.

She hesitates, not because she doesn’t trust Ana, but because it’s difficult for her to admit that she doesn’t have everything handled - that things are hard and she’s a bit lost. She lifts a hand tucking her hair behind her ear as she lets out a breath. “ I’m worried,” she admits. “I’ve been feeling off lately, all these new abilities, the dying, plus worrying about Sophia and now a new baby…I’m just feeling a bit,” she pauses to find the right word, “stressed and I don’t want to bother Caleb, he’s dealing with his own things.” She shrugs and glances down. “I don’t know.”

Hayley hung up the phone and glanced over at Ana, smile on her face. “Okay, I’m all yours. Sorry I just wanted to check in at the house. It’s the first time I’ve left Sophia since we found her.” She admits. But when Ana had invited her over, she couldn’t say no. She was looking forward to getting to know her sister-in-law a bit better. She liked Ana, the other woman was a bit more open than Caleb, which was always nice.
