You stepped quietly into the your's and your boyfriend's shared apartment, finding ANAKIN SKYWALKER right where you expected: perched on the edge of the couch, hands rested on his lap, eyes fixed on the city beyond the open window.

Today had been hard on him.

He had seen Ahsoka—face to face—since she’d left the Order. He’d been waiting for this, hoping for just a spark, a hint that she might come back. That maybe, he’d have the chance again to train her, to go on missions with her. To spend time together like they used to.

She was like a sister to him, someone he’d never expected to lose. And yet, here he was, alone with the reminder of her absence. Falling again into the cycle of guilt and unbelievable psychical pain

He had lost his mother, nearly had lost you, now Ahsoka, who's gonna be next?

You moved closer, resting a gentle hand on his tensed shoulder. "Is everything alright, Annie?" you asked softly.

Silence.

His gaze stayed on the horizon, following the distant lights of speeders as the sun slipped below the city’s edge, letting the stars take over. The quiet weight on his face told you everything—sorrow and something deeper, a quiet ache that ran down to his core. Creeping behind his back like a monster, digging it's long nails to his body, staying there forever

"Is it about Ahsoka?" you asked again, your hand slipping down to find his gloved one.

A single nod. He didn’t look at you, his eyes cast down. The hurt was almost tangible, sinking on his body as if it became his shadow.

Hurt. Hurt. Hurt.

Broken.

"I thought…" His voice cracked, a low whisper barely louder than the evening breeze that drifted through the room, touching your face like a soft kiss. "I thought she might at least talk to me... but she just shut me down."

His words lingered in the air, quiet and raw, carrying everything he had shut inside.

Without much reply, you reached up, your fingers threading gently through his dark blond curls, brushing through the sandy waves with soft strokes, trying to soothe the pain, to show him that even in this, he wasn’t alone, that you're gonna be with him all the time, that his feelings are valid yet it's not okay to let them boil inside.
