CROWN OF MIDNIGHT Pgs. 201-418 – Top 3 Moments! I basically just screamed my way through the rest of this book. Read on below the cut. xx

1. “Fleetfoot turned to look up at Celaena, her golden eyes full of question. Celaena reached down to stroke the warm head, the long ears, the slender muzzle. But the question remained. Celaena said, “She’s never coming back.” The dog kept waiting.”

2. “She was between them now, sword raised. She roared, revealing elongated canines, and the sound was unlike anything he’d ever heard. There was nothing human in it. Because she wasn’t human, Chaol realized. No—she wasn’t human at all. Celaena was Fae.”

😍 WHO ELSE SCREAMED OUT LOUD 😍

3. “’I promise,’ she whispered again. ‘On my name, on my life, even if it takes until my last breath, I promise I will see Eyllwe freed.’”

Celaena at Nehemia’s grave, finally accepting her destiny…. send help 😭

THRONE OF GLASS Pages 201-406 – Top 3 Moments! This book went by FAR too fast, but I loved EVERY MINUTE of it. Dorian and Nehemia are my sweet baby children who MUST BE PROTECTED. Celaena is my QUEEN, and I love all the subtle references to her “forgotten past” – I know I did that Anastasia painting of Aelin & Rowan but actually reading the books now I can really see the inspiration. There were far more than 3 top moments, so these were REALLY hard to pick…. But here goes…

1. Pg. 319 – “Celaena found her arms covered in glowing turquoise marks–Wyrdmarks. Nehemia held her in the water, rocking back and forth. Blackness swallowed her up.” I thought this was so powerful – Nehemia sacrifices keeping her most precious secret hidden to save her friend.

2. Pg. 362 – “’Celaena,’ Chaol said gently…. She lifted her eyes to his face, and found his gaze lined with silver. ‘Get up,’ was all he said.” I’ll be honest, I found Chaol a bit plain for most of the book. But after the scene where he watches Celaena from the garden as she’s all giddy after Dorian kissed her, and then THIS? Love it.

3. Pgs. 366-369 – “The wind caressed her face and swept her hair behind her in a billowing sheet of gold. I will not be afraid. A mark burned on her forehead in blinding blue light.” YYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. That is all.

Bonus: Pg. 396 – “To what end?” Celaena’s words to Dorian when she ends things… heartbreaking and beautifully prescient to someone in the future who will love her to whatever end… ❤ GO VOTE IN THE INSTA COMMENTS❤❤❤! (closes 11:30am PST on Wed 7/24)

Anabelkay’s TOG Read & Draw Pages 0-200 – Top 3 Moments

At approximately 1am last night, I reached page 200 of Throne of Glass... AND BOY DO I HAVE FEELS. I’m so excited to keep reading, but I’m already so inspired to draw! Read on for my m a n y EMOTIONS and to vote on which moment I should draw!

THRONE OF GLASS Pages 0-200 – Top 3 Moments

1. Pg. 40 – “Still, the image haunted his dreams throughout the night: a lovely girl gazing at the stars, and the stars who gazed back.” I am so SOFT for this sweet moment of Dorian watching Celaena, as their camp sleeps the night before they arrive in Rifthold.  This is part of why I LOVE Celaena’s character so far… she’s confident and powerful, but she’s also vulnerable and scared – because a strong woman can be both.

2. Pg. 97 – “’Your highness,’ Chaol said, ‘Are you having a tour of the castle?’ ’If you consider this structure of madness to be a castle,’ Nehemia replied. Celaena turned to Chaol. ‘She says yes.’” I LOVE Nehemia more than life itself already!!! Also, the immediate bond between Celaena & Nehemia is so perfect – these two don’t have time for court BS ok byeeeee.

3. Pg. 187 – “’Who are you?’ the assassin breathed… ‘You know who I am,’ Elena Havilliard said.” AHHHHHHH this whole scene had me SCREAMING. Nothing gets me hyped like discovering the ghost of a faerie queen warning you of danger to come. Bonus: “She hoped Elena wouldn’t speak of what her heart refused to remember, hoped that the queen wouldn’t mention what she had spent so long forgetting.” I CRY.

Bonus favorite quote that HAD ME SCREAMING: Pg. 133 – “Apparently, a woman can only go so long without a sword between her hands.” YASSSS.

Have you had time to start Crown of Midnight yet? 😃

I managed to start it yesterday :) I’m almost to 200 pages and should be posting my next sketch tomorrow! 👀👀👀 I think you’ll like it hehehe

I gotta say... most of the time I feel pretty meh that I already know some major spoilers for the series, mainly the whole identity bit... I was worried it was going to make the first two books anticlimactic to me... but I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised because instead I just catch all of the really subtle references :) Like, when she first meets Mort and he laughs hysterically when she says her name is Celaena Sardothien... I love that! Mort is literally mocking her because he knows the truth!
