last time I drew her (Lia) after listening to Aurora. I probably listened to more Aurora on the right one but I don't remember for sure, so let's pretend I exclusively listened to The Oh Hellos for the both of these :)

I hadn't been able to dance for a while, getting these sketched out (and colored) helped me channel some of the energy I get from the songs

working on Lia's friend Faola (also here) over the past few weeks had me thinking on finally settling down some lore for Xansijon (my universe), starting with the race/species and their [not magic but it kinda looks like it] system

keep in mind some nouns are subject to change as I continue developing their language !!

being a kinaj or a falaj isn't set in stone. it's a an spectrum, similar to our hand dominance/preferecen. a lot of folks will have a strong preference for either, some have an easy time learning the other's abilities while some cannot figure it out even if their life depended on it. there are some folks who even do both from day one! there's a lot of variation

ear length is not reliable because the genes for it are not actually tied to the kinaj/falaj system. kinaj just so happen to have slightly longer ears compared to their falaj biological relatives

there is a prevalence of one over the other within families though! in the sisters' family it's more common to find kinaj than falaj— both Elidia and Margaret are kinaj, though Elidia's case is a mess right now, she started out as a kinaj

Lianna (2nd cousin) ties it up by being a fala— Imari is also a fala though he's only related to Lia, not to the sisters. on their side of the family falaj are prevalent instead of kinaj

the máana paths are not exempt of diseases and injury btw, almost everything that can affect the nervous system is bound to affect the paths too, like Elidia's cooked arm's scars :)

falling down the Dungeon Meshi rabbit hole which means I design a character to play in the sandbox.... couldn't help myself to not critter-fy half-foots in the process 👉🏼👈🏼

meet Eiranne, or just "Eir" if you are close enough. She isn't exactly the adventurer type, knows almost nothing about dungeons yet here she is, going down anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
