I kinda can’t believe it’s here now. The waiting and anticipation was so much fun I’m actually a bit sad it’s over now. But thankfully we still have soooo much content to look forward to! I really hope Taylor brings out another documentary someday! What’s something you really want her to do?

I’m also already kinda dreading tour announcements bc I obviously want to go see her but I also dont want to go alone and it’s gonna be expensive and with Covid still.. (I live with someone immunocompromised and have asthma myself so still have to be careful) but not going sounds shit and I would have the biggest FOMO. aaaaaaaaaah!!!

1. Do you prefer writing with a black pen or blue pen? I guess if I had to choose it would be black. I don’t know why. A good black ballpoint is a lovely thing to have.

2. Would you prefer to live in the country or city? Depends what stage of my life I am in. I want to retire to the country but otherwise wanna live in the city.

3. If you could learn a new skill what would it be? To sew and make clothes. Gosh how different my life (and my wardrobe) would be if I could fix clothes, alter clothes, MAKE clothes. I want this skill so much!

4. Do you drink your tea/coffee with sugar? Don’t drink coffee. My tea has half a sugar. I worked my way all the way down from two sugars and I’m proud. :)

5. What was your favourite book as a child? My Dad used to read me Enid Blyton books when I was little. My favourite series was probably The Naughtiest Girl in the School series.

6. Do you prefer baths or showers? Definitely showers. I want to like baths, but whenever I take one I just feel sweaty and gross.

7. If you could be a mythical creature, which one would it be? A fairy. I’ve been obsessed with fairies since I was little.

8. Paper or electronic books? Probably electronic books. Easier to read and travel. 

9. What is your favourite item of clothing? Gosh I don’t know. I literally sat here thinking about it for a couple of minutes and I can’t pick a favourite. I guess by default it falls to the item that I wear the MOST which would be my black combat boots. I wear them almost constantly.

10. Do you like your name or would you like to change it? Nah I tend to think Laura is a bit boring. I like my middle name Eileen though.

11. Who is a mentor to you? I’m kind of without one at the moment. Thats just the situation my current life is in right now. 

12. Would you like to be famous and if so, what for? I would like to be “Author Famous”. Like have soooooo much money, and dedicated fans who like my work. But nobody recognises me in the street. 

13. Are you a restless sleeper? Yes.

14. Do you consider yourself a romantic person? No, not in the conventional sense.

15. Which element best represents you? I wish I was earth but I would say probably water. Can be dangerous or calm. Flexible. 

16. Who do you want to be closer to? Hmmm I feel bad that I’m not closer to my godson. But ya see, he’s an annoying lil shit. At least the stage he’s going through right now is really obnoxious. So spending time with him is just... not fun.

17. Do you miss someone at the moment? All my Canada friends.

18. Tell us about an early childhood memory. I’ve talked about early childhood memories on here a lot. I don’t want to repeat a story so lemme think a moment..... I remember being obsessed with pressing buttons when I was younger. I mean, most kids are. But you see my family lived on a dairy farm, and in the dairy where we milked the cows and stored the milk there was like... a WALL OF BUTTONS. And levers, and switches and other doo-dads. And like... I just wanted to press them all. But I wasn’t allowed. Obviously. Only at certain times during the day would my father call me over and lift me up so I could press one particular button. So yeah, I remember that. “Helping” my Dad in the dairy and being excited whenever I got to press the buttons. I never even got old enough to learn what the buttons did before we moved off our farm. :(

19. What is the strangest thing you have eaten? Hmmm, probably escargot. Snails. They were delicious.

20. What are you most thankful for? My newborn nephew.

21. Do you like spicy food? Yes. But spicy food does not like me.

22. Have you ever met someone famous? Yeah last year I was working on a feature film that had a Disney starlet working on it.

23. Do you keep a diary or journal? No way. Too hard. The only time I keep journals is for really important stuff that needs documentation. Like a medical journal when I’m sick. Or an anxiety journal when my GAD gets real bad.

24. Do you prefer to use a pen or a pencil? Pen I guess.

26. Do you like your cereal soggy or crunchy? Bit of both. If you can get a mouthful with both then thats like... bliss.

27. What would you want your legacy to be? Do I need to want it to be anything? Cause I don’t. Like I don’t really care all that much. Maybe I will later in life.

28. Do you like reading, what was the last book you read? I dont think its accurate to say I like reading when I literally never do it anymore. Except for fanfic. I listen to audiobooks a bit. I just finished listening to The Stand by Stephen King.

29. How do you show someone you love them? Cuddles, I’m a cuddler.

30. Do you like ice in your drinks? Yes.

31. What are you afraid of? Wasted potential and never really getting where I want to get.

32. What is your favourite scent? That smell after a sun shower. Everything is wet and the sun is making it evaporate into the atmosphere. Love that smell.

33. Do you address older people by their name or surname? Not to be cheeky but like, context is a thing. Depends on the context.

34. If money was not a factor, how would you live your life? Not terribly different. I would still work. I guess I would travel a lot more. Since that is something that I would love to do but can’t because I don’t have the funds.

35. Do you prefer swimming in pools or the ocean? Theyre both the same level of scary to me. Yes, I suffer from an irrational fear of pool sharks. So I guess I would go ocean because at least with the ocean you have the surf waves to make it fun.

36. What would you do if you found £50 on the ground? Look around to see if someone had dropped it, then if there was no one, pocket it.

37. Have you ever seen a shooting star? Yes. Last time I went camping there was a meteor shower. Wait, do they count as shooting stars? If not then no.

38. What is the one thing you would want to teach your children? Compassion.

39. If you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it? I want to get a bunch of babies-breath flowers tattooed in the middle of my back. Its so specific because I plan my tattoos for a long time before I get them.

40. What can you hear now? The fish tank filter at my brothers house.

41. Where do you feel the safest? In my bedroom. In my bed. Laptop and phone and kitty nearby.

42. What is the one thing you want to overcome/conquer? My fear of relationships and emotional intimacy.

43. If you could travel back to any era, what would it be? I honestly don’t know. There are a lot of cool places (but like, usually only if youre in the upperclass). Ancient Greece maybe? Jane Austen era? Woodstock? I can’t decide.

hmm ig i’ll go with canon for this one because i have many ocs, but uh i really wanna write for seto from fragile dreams. i used to have an ask blog for him back in the day but that died quickly seeing as how dead the fandom is so- but i do love him with all my heart and i would love to be able to someday write him or something

rick riordan, marissa meyer and michelle rowen. i’ve read their books throughout middle school and high school and i still find myself going back to reread their books because i just love how their words flow as well as how engaging their plots are. i honestly hope i can reach rick riordan levels of skill whenever i get around to finishing my own novel!

♧ Is there an RP partner(s) that you credit for becoming a better writer?

one would have to be an old rp friend that we sadly don’t talk to anymore since she was the first one i started writing with a lot more back in high school as well as the one who would give me advice on how to improve and just be patient with me when i go stuck with writing our threads and also mikey (@snw-cnvs) since he also supports me outside of rp’ing to get me to write actually fiction drabbles. i just wish i could finish them lmao

all of my ships with mikey no i’m joking lolol i really love my ship with haneul because i’ve had him for two years now and he’s grown a lot because of his ship. he’s someone whose never believed that love was real and sure their relationship is a little rocky, but they both don’t really have the proper understanding for love until waaaay later. i also really love how whenever he’s with obe, he’s able to pull out this different side of haneul, someone whose so overconfident and quick to words, becomes at a loss for words and questioning himself a lot. i just love them best otp

not really refuse to play - more like i’m eh with. if only because en used to be my main chara for a long time like, i was so deep into the magical boy lore that a good chunk of my headcanons became canon. but also it just…leaves a bad taste in my mouth even more so since the drama that happened in that fandom left me filled with fear and hesitance to rp for a good chunk like before. it just brings back bad memories and i thought i was moving past it when i was thinking about using him for reese but alas. some memories don’t leave

maybe one day i’ll either get to write en again or i can use his face as fc but we’ll see

haneul: he loves the rain and he’ll spend it either under an umbrella or just sitting there in the rain just letting it wash away his thoughts and fears for a little bit 

eiji: he’d spend it indoors playing a video game or playing with seto

reese: he’d prob be dumb and splash in the puddles because he likes to enjoy the little things. other times he’ll just ignore it and stay indoors either hanging with friends or studying and practicing his magic for his school’s next tournament

lifty and shifty were my roots. i started in the htf fandom and had so much fun writing those lil shits. it was just my go fuckin crazy shit. i still have their icons and their old blog is still up and i do kinda miss them some days.

Themes and Ideas for self negotiated projects

1. Selfcare and rituals that we practice within our everyday, that prevent aging or are based around slightly strange private things we do alone. Set building like the in the studio task but carried on to a more considered series, slightly comedic based of my parents and how the constantly call me with new diets or things that are part of their “routine” but aren’t. How when you retire or when you are older what do you do all day etc? but not almost older people but our strange secret healthcare/antiaging routines.

 2. Recreating a 70s dinner party with a narrative. Because it would be firstly enjoyable for me and plus there is something so off putting yet intriguing about the food photography that features in these cook books such as Mary Berrys all colour cook book. The images almost become more like an art than edible food! kind of similar to inspiration to abigails party but as a photo series. I enjoyed setting up stuff in the studio but am intrigued in how you can present narrative in a subtle way. FOUND FRAGMENTED STORY TO TELL MY HAMLYNN ALL COLOUR COOK BOOK THAT SAYS ‘TO KITTY’ IN THE FRONT WITH A NOTE, AND WAS MY NANS FRIEND WHO HAD AN AFFAIR WITH A MARRIED MAN. Create a quick narrative story from this...

4. Scotland in Cinema.. or a genre like specific places, Iconic scenes in films and  places that have been shot with in landscapes, cityscapes. But with no actors or no people in them. Or not even just film places just city scapes like empty sets with nobody in them. But why what would be the purpose. Are these places left alone, would need to include and do more research.

 5. British Pubs, what makes a pub and pub, I’m not an alcoholic but I’ve always grown up where the pub is centre of the community.  Your local, what are the semiotics and visual language of pubs, I’ve always had and still have a local where ever I’ve lived. The culture of the people who go to your local but I almost want to document what makes them so universally familiar. The smell of a pub feels familiar, this could play out as a documentary set of images on purely interiors or be a wider theme relating to people and crossing over into social politics of pubs, However I may find this detracts from the original path.

 6. My Dads childhood…or like the estranged side of my family who like know me etc but I have no clue at all who they are. What sort of a portrait would I build of grandma that I have never met be like. Or built a fake grandma like construct this family based on what my dad can tell me. Often people create projects on elderly relatives, I have none besides my Dads actual birth mother who lives ten minutes up the road from my house in Kent but I have met twice. In part due to both her and my dad’s stubbornness. I find it so interesting that this woman who is my direct blood relative I have no clue if I am like her or even what her name is.

 7.  Elderley Social Care. We live in in an aging population and how we care for the elderly members of our communities is important, I work up in Maryhill where I have become part of the community there and gained many elderly friends, we are told to talk to them as sometimes these shop interactions are all they have in day. Having worked with a charity on an off chance evening, that looks to help end loneliness for older people, by exploring and I documenting their lives to help communicate how we should look after the older lonely people around us. Id think it would be towards Documentary.

 8. Landscape, from the landscape project in the previous year and many before that I’ve approached it in a personal way where I try I project myself. Instead focusing on what our land does for us, the new forms of renewable engery and old industry and how our human footprint as a whole sits within the landscape, Scotland has some of the most stunning scenery in the uk but as we move towards finding energy sources that don’t cost us our land we have to interrupt some of its beauty. Id like to explore on a large scale how thes new devices sit in our landscapes and if it is still beautiful.

 8a. Scottish Landscape again but specifically around the route that I have always traveled into Scotland? Or again landscapes and the homes of the clans that have come from Scotland, some of its history but this would need more research. Etc I have access to Scottish Farmers but also I feel uninformed of what issues are currently surrounding its landscape etc.

 9. Portraits (really rough idea), of women using all the mad beauty devices and beauty routines that are available but to extremes, but classic portraits possibly. How we/ I get obsessed with things, I dabble into this and have spent so much getting individual eyelash extensions, dying my eyebrows, fake tan , fake nails, perms, hair bleached but also all the ridiculous items like eye masks, compression face masks, jaw exerciser. I have not done straight up classic portrait in colour before and I like the idea of exploring the world of the UBER femme that I so often find myself getting lured into! I find myself watching beauty tutorials not to learn but out of pure obsession! Glossy magazine style imagery but unsettling as it pushes to far on how we should be grooming ourselves.

 10. Revisit the landscape project but instead of purely the isle of Sheppey go to my original idea of Towns dotted along the Thames and Medway, or alternatively seaside towns, there is something that is stuck in an era about them that make them real places of nostalgia for everyone. Seaside towns but in winter is deeply depressing! Scenic location documentary that is not about fine details but dystopian towns.

 11. The border we have with Europe..dover? what are they looking at in in a post Brexit world? I would need to learn a lot for this project as i dont know much about brexit anymore.
