he’s worked with some dwarven mechanisms in his day, but i’m going to usurp the “technical” part of this and make it “magical skills” instead. he’s quite the master, hence, archmage. knows a wide variety of spells from all schools, but is a legend in destruction, conjuration, and especially mysticism, which he took a five year sabbatical of sorts to study with the psijics on artaeum. he showed to have a knack for the kind of “paradoxical experimentation” which fueled mystical research and spellcrafting. he’s not got the greatest of magicka reserves, like the altmer or breton masters, but he knows how to utilize it to greatest effect by utilizing his full repertoire of spells to conserve and efficiently expend it. he’s also done a fair bit of research into alchemy and enchanting: he worked with sinderion to further research the nirnroot and its uses in potions (and poisons), and he studied several of the daedric artifacts he acquired during his adventuring years to discover more about how such powerful enchanted objects were made. in short, he’s archmage for good reason.

Okay so Neva's timeline rn is

Clockwork city

These things are over the course of like. 5 years. Granted I've just worked shit out up to just after clockwork city but anyways!!!!

She leaves home before the soulburst I'm thinking. Fucks around for 4 months before murdering an asshole which then leads to the dark brotherhood contacting her. We don't have an actual date for when the Vestige was sacrificed which pisses me off but I'm gonna say the events of the dark brotherhood are over around 6 to 7 months.

The reason they contacted her in the first place was probs bc she being Neva murdered the dude with his own sword and everyone else being yeah that was illegal and most def murder but we also aren't going to tell the guards bc someone had to do something about him and he had too much sway politically for anything to really be done.

Esrondil def witnesses this (I'm also thinking this is right after he royally screwed over a bunch of cultists probs not worm cultists tho bc that doesn't work w the timeline- anyways he's on the run) and from there decides to keep an eye on her. She doesn't notice but she's pickpocketed him so many fucking times she should probably put the pieces together which she finally does like a month after joining the brotherhood

Like Esrondil is the witness her sermonizer murder spree and is like okay so like. What's the actual goal here. Also can I please have my nice knife back I would rather you stop taking my things.

They. Actually become extremely good friends after that? It's fucking weird but at the same time Esrondil doesn't bat an eyelash at her criminal activities but he also decided that she would be interesting to follow considering everything she got herself into turned out to be ridiculous and it was largely entertainment factor at that point.

Neva is well known in the gold coast underground by the time Quen comes searching for a partner in the outlaw's refuge. Dasra finally tells her something along the line that if she wants someone she should seek out that one dunmer lady who's probably an assassin based off the blood, but please get away from the front of her shop

From there despite Quen actively searching for her Neva def senses someone searching for her and in result just. Fucking goes full stealth bc she hates that I'm being hunted feeling.

Quen fucking finally corners her to ask ab the job and Neva's brain stops working bc she's literally so gay and why do Altmer have to be so tall
