okay but can we talk about bottomharrykingdom for a second?because its creation clearly was a reaction to blp, and while it doesn't exclusively focus on harry bottoming but also explores gender and whatnot... why is it named that, it's making my skin crawl. and it irks me a little bit that you have a problem with blouies but see nothing wrong with bhk
i’m sorry anon that what i do on my own blog irks you, but allow me to clear the air:
1. i do not have a problem with blouies because they have a preference for who tops and who bottoms. that really doesn’t matter to me. as long as you keep it to fanfiction, i don’t actually care. now, it’s abundantly clear based on how adamant they are on this unsubstantial size difference that the main reason blouies are drawn to bottom!louis is because he’s small, whether they recognize it or not. you will see in every fandom surrounding mlm relationships that the softer, smaller, kinder, younger, etc. man will be given the role as bottom. it happens without fail. but i digress.
2. my general problems with blouies are that they a) feminize louis into a soft dainty bottom when he’s literally never gave any indication that he’s like that therefore pushing a stereotype that bottoms must be feminine, which is both homophobic and misogynistic b) think everything they believe about louis is real and true and if you don’t believe it you absolutely must hate the real louis c) call anything and everything that doesn’t support their beliefs either a lie directly from hl’s mouths to our ears or management forcing hl into a certain image d) push a hyper masculine image onto harry despite the fact that harry doesn’t define his masculinity by the standards of others, and has joked about how unmasculine he is.
3. my BIGGEST problem with blouies is the fact that they felt like people pointing out that harry could be trans was a conversation that in any way required their opinion. they talk so much shit about bharries having an agenda and fetishizing trans people, but they ignore the fact that many people who believe harry is trans are a) not larries b) not bharries and c) trans/nb ourselves. you know who has an agenda about trans harry? the people who spend so much time pretending that harry is aggressively masculine. they saw us pointing out how harry’s relationship with his own femininity could be indication of something more and they felt threatened that harry being trans would blow the biggest fucking hole in the fantasy of harry that they’ve created (because they hate him the way that he is). then, to try to hold onto any bit of this fantasy harry that they can, they perpetuate transphobic ideas of how harry just can’t be trans because his body looks a certain way, because he grows facial hair, because he boxes and lifts weights, etc etc etc. and don’t giving a flying fuck that it hurts rl trans people to see people say this about harry, because we know it’s what many people say about us too.
4. bhk was one of the first blogs i followed when i started blogging about harry (fine line release day baby). why? because they were one of the few blogs i saw posting about the idea of harry being trans. not because they were being “fetishists with an agenda” who conflate harry’s gender identity with what he prefers to do in bed, but because they saw a conversation that fans wanted to have and recognized that they had the platform to amplify that conversation. they don’t try to paint a narrow image of hl to support top/bottom dynamics (which in their faq they make clear is for fiction). the “masculine haddy” in hoodies and basketball shorts or with facial hair that blouies love so much? they post that. soft louis edits and fanart and photos? they post that too. their twaddy tag exists. you get a much more honest depiction of hl just being themselves from bhk than you would ever get from any blouie.
in conclusion, my beef (not of the haddy variety) is not that blouies are blouies. it’s that they’re transphobic, fetishizing dickbags and their cishet queen lads is the biggest dickbag of them all. it’s never been about the (what should have been) fiction of it all. it’s about the bad, harmful, toxic behavior that comes with it.
