neil, jean and jeremy all have such fanboy descriptions of kevin idek what a pov would sound like from the perspective of someone who isn't in love with him

okay but jean's surprise at the banquet when neil understands his french. jean who spoke french to neil in the nest. jean who probably hadn't spoken french since kevin left. jean who hasn't had anyone to speak to in the language he's most comfortable in for so long.

jean finding out his lost forever partner speaks french.

I'm relistening to the aftg audiobooks and something I didn't notice the first time reading them is, that when Edgar Allan switches district and Kevin is having his breakdown, he asks for Wymack's so that he can call Jean.

He. Calls. Jean.

Which in itself is super interesting (is this the first time they have talked since Kevin left the nest? Has Kevin been giving Jean life updates? I don't know! And how does Jean feel about this? Does he feel angry, that the boy who escaped calls back in panic that he is going to have face the monster that Jean faces every day. Does he feel jealous? Or is he perhaps sad, that even the one who ran away is being roped back, that even though Kevin escaped Riko he is still haunted by him? Does he feel hopeless, when he sees that it doesn't matter how far you run, they can't escape their past?)

I am however also interested in the fact that Kevin called from Wymack's phone. Did his phone get destroyed during his and Wymack's fight? Or does Jean have Kevin's number blocked? And does Wymack have Jean's number in his phone or does Jean have it memorised?

Wymack's "[The school board] told me to call them as soon as you’ve returned. . . Have you returned?" to Neil and Neil's "We have to deal with this today, but we might not have to deal with it right now. What do you need?" to Jean are the same words in different fonts and that fact lives rent-free in my head

The Golden Raven

I've been thinking about drawing this ever since Nora mentioned that this would be the name of the second book. I'm happy that I finally got around to drawing it, but Jean is in my head more than ever (not that that's a problem).

my favorite thing about andreil is that they spent the first two books observing each other like strange bugs in a lab going "mmm how peculiar" at each others every move only to come to the conclusion "wow this dudes 100% not all there. i should be gay about it" and then they are and its the healthiest thing you've ever seen

When allison gets neil online, she starts sending him those posts that are like "just when you think you've hit rock bottom you wanna fuck a blonde guy" as a joke but neil doesn't think they're funny cause there's nothing wrong with loving andrew. He DOES however immediately forward them to katelyn
