I love the interior design of Dineen’s first location on Temperance and recently discovered this more rustic one closer to home. Also by Pencil Design, Dineen Outpost has a beautiful blue-grey wraparound bar with a cactus boreal green granite top. Some of my other favourite features here are the tiled floors with brass metal accents, pink marble countertops and its signature rust coloured leather banquettes.

Stopped by a zellige factory during my time in Fez. Zellige is a mosaic tilework made from geometric tiles that are individually hand-chiseled and set into a plaster base.

Visited the beautiful Musée Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakech. Architecture designed by Studio Ko, the facade appears as an intersection of cubes with a lace-like covering of bricks, creating patterns that recall the weft and warp of fabric. The interior celebrates the acclaimed work and life of the French fashion designer.

It was fun discovering the series of art pieces sculptor Tadashi Kawamata was commissioned to create for the Park Hyatt in Guangzhou. Made of reclaimed wood, they were displayed around the hotel’s public areas.

Stayed at the Park Hyatt during a work trip in Guangzhou. Architectural features characteristic of the region’s Lingnan style were carried out throughout this hotel designed by Super Potato.

I’m so amazed by Moroccan architecture. The Medrassa Acharatine in Fez is a great example of classic Moroccan interiors with the use of wood, plaster, ceramic and metalwork. Visit the photography section of my website for more curated photos from this trip.
