[ what i learned from reading my archive: a summary

several weeks ago, i embarked on the arduous task of plundering coraline’s archive for context, shits & giggles. ( as well as everyone else’s in my old friendship circle, but that’s another story. ) 

this blog was created on march 2, 2013. it has almost 4000 posts. that’s nearly four years of laughs, tears and straight-up punctuation that i’ve skimmed. there have been major developments, arcs en masse, and some hella relationships along the way. but it’s the little stuff i’d almost forgotten about that’s made this blog worthwhile.

organized neatly by year, here are the details i’ve rediscovered about coraline m. jones. ]

2013. cracked down on the misuse of the pentagram as a symbol of maleficence, and its wrongful association with black magic. inherited an omnichord from marceline, and learned to play “all star” in a day. was a vegetarian september - december. summoned 6 (six) demons. successfully completed CLOP & QWOP started collecting ouija boards. est. could understand really basic sumerian and khazar, with extended study.  confirmed (closeted) nsync fan, abandoned the coverup after nsync reunion.

2014. started learning piano.  dated marshall lee for two weeks. (june - ... ... ... june.) paints with her hands. barbecue sauce: “the skittles of condiments.” was joan of ark for summerween. cynical about monogamy / because a cousin got married.

2015.  first reference to mabel pines as “the girlfriend” in september. tried an undercut. hated undercut. complained about growing it out until it grew out. was a vegetarian march-september. licensed driver and first car: 1980s lincoln hearse in blue, dubbed “mortimer.” (later “christine.”) first in-school suspension for deliberately tackling someone while playing la crosse. 

2016.  “i love movies with puritans who’re getting their freak on.” recurring theme. got a job at home depot, and later at a florist. popped coven witchcraft cherry and hated it. popped alcohol cherry and hated it equally. trip to arcadia bay went hideously awry. first mention of lowkey possession in july. (resolved september.) really attracted to the scent of tobacco. participated in set con and orchestra for school production of AMND.
