WOW LITTLE WOMEN my best picture nominee

holy fuck

every shot was a painting 

the acting *chefs kiss*

i cried 4 times, both from the events of the movie but also at just how good it was

it felt like i was in those rooms, the movie was long but it was something i couldnt take my eyes off

the directing and the back and forth between years

i went into it thinking ‘eh might as well its some bs movie version of the book’ but dear lord

benjamin finally came out in the u.s. and i watched it:

I dotn know where to start. Its beautiful, real, funny, sad. A perfect cast and a perfect movie. You smile, you cry, you cringe, you feel. Just a fucking amazing film. 

Its just casual and sweet, and to call it a gay movie isnt what it is. It perfectly captures a mlm relationship in a casual and beautiful way. Theres not an alarming age gap, not fetishized, actually no comment on the fact that its mlm. When i see posts asking for more pure and genuine queer films, this is what i wanted.

The King (netflix) review

Amloth Rating: 10/13

First off, if nothing else, the production design in itself is phenomenal. Gorgeously shot, battle scenes are fan-fucking-tastic.

Timothee Chalamet: I was skeptical! But i have to say he was fucking fantastic in acting and portraying this character. Especially this version of Henry; yes, he doesnt appear as the “macho” king henry we’re used to, but this gives him this underdog strength that i think is a really amazing addition to his character. His strength isn’t from his kingship or his physical mass, but his spirit. LOVE THIS!

The Story: SO as you know Henry V is the only valid Shakespeare play in my eyes. AND i love the Kenneth Branagh version. HOWEVER this is my new favorite. This may be biased because i hate Shakespeare but not having this telling be word-for-word the play is amazing. By omitting that language it draws you much further into the actual movie. And it allows him to SHOW EMOTION! He cries 3 times in this movie. THREE! Not only does this make henry seem real and un-glorify the story, but it reinforces that being a king is only a title, one that tends to overpower all other aspects of the character.

So yes, this is different and there are some questionable plot changes. But overall the good changes override the bad ones.

Robert Pattenson: I mean it wasnt who i would have chosen but he was actually funny so pass!

Catherine: What the fuck. This is my main hold up. The worst casting. This is mean but Lily-Rose Depp is ,,,, not beautiful. And when your competition is Emma Thompson,,, i feel like they could have done better. Like i can name 10 actresses off the top of my head that have both the beauty and skill to play her. 

Bonus commentary: omg the beheading scene so good.
