was watching dungeon meshi but then that gay ahh bath scene came on and my moms in the room w me so like 💀💀💀💀 reading 1984 rn bcs assignment, im ten pages in bcs i keep fawking playing honkai star rail 😭😭😭 omg, but i was in the midst of watching dil se before i realised i was getting distracted too easily and it was keeping me from enjoying it properly. was only watching it bcs i couldnt find bombay (1995, not the city 💀💀) anywhere. probs bcs nobody gaf abt archiving desi movies 😭😭😭😭 its tough out here, but like for dil se honestly i rlly liked the screenplay and the way it was directed even tho like . i literally only got to the first song of the film 💀💀 even then. also oh my god srk has not a SINGLE dancing bone in his body like ive bitched abt it before but oml hrithik roshan and tiger shroff are actually carrying the reputation of bollywood's male actor's dancing abilities on their back....now if only theyd stop FAWKING taking up propaganda films 😭😭😭

i actually kinda need to leave a separate paragraph for how bad srk dances like its not just when he was young...in chaiyya chaiyya literally EVERYBODY is on beat except him....and it KEELS me because ure telling me u cant keep tempo ??? brother 😭😭😭😭😭 but ok even in the present like, he stays on beat (barely) but hes SO STIFF?? i like saw some clip of him dancing with an actress, it mightve been deepika padukone in happy new year ??? oh my god it was SO bad. he was SO stiff. it KILLED me. bollywood actress go through HELL but sanjay dutt srk and a bunch of other male actors get away with not being able to dance well 😭😭😭😭 my queen kareena kapoor took dance classes before filming k3g yet srk and amitabh bacchan got away w shava shava....Sick and Twisted world we live in like....anyway i actually dk if thalapthy vijay is a bhakt but this is y he solos even tho i have verithanam trauma....sings n dances well etc, this is y bollywood flops consistently actually

oh also i liked inglourious basterds and pulp fiction . quentin tarantino kinda looks like a walking talking serial killer mugshot tho i saw an interview where he was asked why kill bill had so much violence and was honestly surprised by how girlypop he was. not forgetting him choking diane kruger on set tho !

watched batman begins. it was aight 😭 rewatched matt reeves' batman right after. liked it betterr. i LOVEDDD heartbreak high, s1 and s2 !! usually with shows i only like s1 best, but w heartbreak high i literally ADOREDDD s2, the finale was so good !!! im also watching the gentlemen (the show) rn, and i rllyyy like it hehe. tried watching tick tick boom again bcs I'd actually dropped it midway when it had first released bcs that one scene where she was like "you're thinking of a song rn aren't you" was so stress inducing that I had 2 click away 💀💀 n then i forgot abt it. picked it up again and omg it's actually so good how did I miss it the first time 😭😭😭

oh yeah I also liked the fall of the house of usher . also ! another incompleted thing but im also in the midst of watching the three of us (film). its so good !! i loved the atmosphere and cast performances can't wait 2 see how it turns out :))

Not to be sappy here but can we talk about piku for a second? Like yes it's hilarious and ridiculous and has a man standing outside the toilet making a piss sound because his employer can’t pee without it and yes it has amitabh bacchan in sports shoes and a hat sitting on the side of a highway in the thick of the afternoon with his suitcase because the driver has a safety knife but it is also so fucking emotionally raw??? Like?? The shot where Piku is sitting by her father’s side and lightly stroking his arm after he has fallen seriously ill and there are tears in her eyes cause no matter how annoying he is still her father and she likes seeing him relaxed and a little tipsy and dancing to old songs and she can’t lose him and she has to touch him to make sure she hasn’t? Masterpiece. Piku looking out of her window down at girls giggling and talking and laughing and you know just...being? You know, carefree in a way that she never got? Hit right in the feels. When she and Rana are sitting on the banks of ganga and roaming around Kolkata, discovering the city and each other? Heavenly. And ofc no piece of media has ever managed to achieve the level of innocence and awe that bhaskar had on his face as he roams around his childhood city which welcomes him with open arms and old roads and new faces and the SMILE as he brings home his favorite snacks for his family and the fact that his last act on this earth was spreading the love he had stored away in his heart i just *slams head against wall*

Simple Story missing out track at points losing out on overall impact 2.5 Star ⭐⭐.5

The film portrays human inclining towards extreme greed and losing out on everything, the climax stands out and the humour infused in the film is dark and wacky , the film could have been a bit shorter as the current runtime is a bit over stretched and feels boring and off track at points , performances are top notch by both our talented actors BACCHAN SAAB & AYUSHMAN KHURANA , their jodi is truely priceless . The charcter make over for Amitabh Bacchan is overdone , usage of prostehtics is clearly visible but good news is Bacchab sab overshadows it with his super amazing perfoemance throughout the film . The movie has a great message put up by its end . All together the film is slow paced and dosent live up to its expectation , You can watch it for its amazing climax and performances by the lead pairs .

This brand new Amitabh Bacchan and Ayushman Khurana starrer movie is centered around Fatima Mahal, Lucknow and the story revolves around the landowner Amitabh Bacchan (Mirza Sahib) and tenant Ayushman (Bankey). There are other supporting actors in the movie like Vijay Raj who all together make this rat race of land and greed a satirically, comically twisted story.

New Delhi: Life of Karuna Srivastava has been stitched around radio. Be it listening her favourite songs or programme or making a programme for the people, all have been the soul of her life since the beginning.

She, in her seventies, resides at White Rose Apartments in Sector 13, Dwarka with her family, cherishing the memories of her 35 years of illustrious career with All India Radio holding various important positions.

She started her journey in 1976 formally and it continued till 2008 when she retired as ADG (Additional Director General). Karuna says, “Life is radio and radio is life for me. What I am today is due to radio.”

In her twenties, Karuna joined AIR Delhi leaving her government job in Ministry of Defense  Archive Section because she had a passion to ultimately join radio.

She recalls, “It was a good job and I was enjoying in section of war history archive there. But I wanted to join radio. I saw an advertisement in newspaper that AIR had vacancy through UPSC. I applied for that and you can imagine my intensity to join as I was the topper out of 143 candidates appeared in exam. I started my career and joined in music section in June 1976. My work was basically to contact classical singers and line up them for programmes etc. So this was the beginning of my journey with AIR.”

Meeting with dream

Karuna has many memorable moments in her life during radio days. She always remember those memories and live the moment. One of the memories is the meeting with her dream and it was meeting with her role model Lata Mangeshkar. In Karuna’s words, it was climax of her life. She shares with a thrill and a smile on face, “Radio gave me three chance to meet Lata Mangeshkar. Once on the occasion of 50th anniversary of independence, there was a program at the Parliament. Lata Ji had to perform. I was incharge there from AIR. That day I welcomed her and stood aside her. It was like a dream come true. She was in white silk saree. I feel that moment very often.”

Karuna's journey in radio made her meet the giants of their own fields like Shyam Benegal, Lata Mangeshkar, Bheem Sen Joshi, Smita Patil, Raj Babbar, Harivansh Rai Bacchan, Debu Chaudhry, Amjad Ali Khan, Bismillah Khan, Anuradha Poudwal, Kavita Krishnamurti, Bappi Lahiri, Girija Devi, Jagjit Singh and many more.

She still after her retirement in 2008 is on the panel of AIR as an expert and often go to check the audition and contribute in other required works for AIR.

Moments

Being in radio, Karuna got many chance to earn glory, make great friends and get blessings of veteran artists and laureates of India. When she was looking after Yuwavani, she had friends like Raj Babbar and his wife Nadira Babbar. “We used to invite youths from Delhi University and it was the time when we used to interact more after program or before program. We all were of same age so there was a connect. In that period, Raj Babbar used to visit us and also her wife Nadira. With the time, Nadira became my good friend.”

Eight hours recording with Harivansh Rai Bacchan and letters

When she was handling the programmes with veteran writers and music artists, she got used to contacting them for recording. It was a program in which the AIR was doing long recording of artists and writers. In that, Karuna recorded famous poet and father of Amitabh Bacchan, Harivansh Rai Bacchan. Karuna used to interact with him and his wife Teji Bacchan. She has a memory associated with Harivansh Rai Bacchan, “He was a fatherly figure for me and he treated me like a daughter. He used to write me letters too. I had his five hand written letters on inland. His writing  was beautiful. Unfortunately, I lost those letters. They were kept in a box with my own writing works. Somehow moisture entered in that and they got corrupted. It was a great loss for me.”

Interaction with Smita Patil

During her days in Yuwavani, Karuna got a chance to interact with Smita Patil. Smita was invited by AIR as she was on a program in Delhi. Karuna shares, “There was an excitement in us to meet her. Before that we went to Regal to watch her movie Bhoomika. She was a lady with grace. A young, simple girl with dark complexion. Humble in talking.”

Received award on behalf of Bismillah Khan

Karuna was holding charge of Station Director in Lucknow. In 2003, there was a function organised by AIR to honour the artists. In that, Ustad Bismillah Khan had to be honoured but he was not present. On his behalf, Karuna received the award. “I was Station Director, so CEO Prasar Bharti asked me to go on stage and receive the award. It was a big moment that I was given a responsibility to get the honour of such a legend and hand over to him in the same way. I did that. I went to Banaras to give his award and award money. He was very happy seeing me visiting him personally. He blessed me patting my back. I could feel that warmth still in my life.”

Though the makers wanted the film to get a theatrical release,but during the lockdown, they decided to go with the OTT platform. Ayushmann Khurrana worked with Shoojit Sircar in his debut in Vickey Donor. On the other hand, Amitabh Bacchan paired-up with Shoojit Sircar in movies like Badla, Pink, Piku, etc. Now talking about this movie, it starts with a doll show. The name of the dolls are Gulabo and Sitabo and the show is about how they are fighting for their sake. Then the camera moved on a ragged haveli named Fatima Haveli,  which is more than 100 years old. The begum, who is the owner of the haveli married Mirza(Amitabh Bachhan) who is 17 years younger than her. There are some tenants who live in Fatima Haveli, give negligible rent to Mirza. Baankey (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is the leader of the tenants, has quarrel relation with Mirza. Mirza always wants to repulse the tenants but on the other side, Baankey wants to live there giving Mirza a very low rent or get a flat or money instead of living there. Now you have to watch the film to know how their fight turns into a tragedy for them.

Now coming to the performances, the leads are the show stellar. As usual, Ayushmann was extraordinary as Baankey, and Amitabh Bacchan delivered one of his finest performance once again. The prosthetic of Mr. Bacchan was looking quite artificial but the good news is Mr. Bacchan completely overshadowed it. The supportive characters especially Vijay Raaz and Brijendra Kala made this film worth watching. Avik Mukhopadhyay leads the cinematography. He explored Lucknow as never before, his work is appreciable in this film. But the makers didn’t try any kind of experiment what we wanted to see in this genre of film, maybe the makers wanted to give this movie a more realistic look. But still, Avik Mukhopadhyay proved why he is the 4-time national award winner. The background score is good too and matched with the situations of the films. But the screenplay is the thing where this film fails to impress the audience. Juhi Chaturvedi, who is the screenwriter of films like Piku, October, wrote a slow pacing screenplay for Gulabo Sitabo. Though the dialogues were trying to recover the concentration of the audience, but still the not so impactful and weakened dialogues can’t able to make the audience’s patience to sail through the film. The editing part could have been a bit shorter. But if you like the way Shoojit Sarkar is directing, you won’t get disappointed that much. Before the actual post, let me make this clear, I make distinguish between the words actors and actresses, in this context, to me the word actor means any male person acting in a movie or theater and the word actress means any female person acting in a movie or theater. Actors and actresses are plural forms.  

I think most actors are dumb, retarded and opportunistic people. Because, none of the movies which have been made thus far cater to their passive sexuality, all it makes is give fodder to ugly, jealous, vindictive girls and women to accuse boys and men that they are enjoying their passive sexuality in movies, it feeds male actors’ rotten egos and vanity, and fools them into thinking they are enjoying their passive sexuality.

I only watch Victoria’s Secret’s segments for songs for variety, when I’m bored watching regular songs videos.

I don’t watch Victoria’s Secret fashion show, because most of the girls and women in it are ugly and look like malformed boys and men, and most of them don’t have beautiful faces. A beautiful face is like a right amount of salt or sugar, even a little more or little less and the entire thing gets ruined, no matter how nice the body is, it can make or break. So it’s fun to watch ugly, over-confident women trotting, pouting and smoldering as if they are hot or something, and their pouting and smoldering expressions becomes that much more disgusting and repulsive on ugly faces, it’s like seeing a circus show. (Truth be said I don’t watch the video most of the time, I open it in a new tab and let it play in the background, but if I come across it for the first time, I try to watch it completely) And sleeping with Victoria’s Secrets models is nothing to publicly brag about, especially if they are the ugly ones.

I came across the above mentioned video once, and I never heard Lady GaGa’s songs, so I wanted to know what Lady GaGa’s songs are like, so I clicked on the video and it started playing, it was the first time, so I watched it completely, well not completely, there was an irritating segment at the beginning, which I unsuccessfully tried to skip, and the segment with the show and song started playing, and the first thing I noticed was the muscular boys and men doing Olympic stunts, gymnastics and flexing their muscles like in a bodybuilding show, in the background of the catwalk, and Victoria’s Secret’s walking. The message seemed to be that hard work and effort boys and men put in to build body doesn’t come anywhere close to the hard work and effort girls, women and Victoria’s Secret models put in for their walk. This is one instance which clearly shows that girls and women value their pain, effort and hard work more than boys and men.

And the first thought I got when I saw those muscular boys and men was, where would Indian actors be in Hollywood and related industries, because those muscular boys and men in the above mentioned video look a lot better than Indian Bollywood actors, and they are fairer than Indian actors. So to answer this question, Indian Bollywood actors, like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Rampal, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Abhishek Bacchan, Amitabh Bacchan, Akshay Kumar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sanjay Dutt and Shahid Kapoor, wouldn’t even as much have become background performers in Hollywood and related industries. It’s because of rampant mediocrity in India that these below average looking Indian actors even have any popularity, and through bestial brutishness and underworld deals they secure roles in movies. I haven’t included South Indian actors because they are considered less attractive than Bollywood actors, if even the best of Bollywood actors couldn’t even as much as come close to matching a background Caucasian actors beauty in Hollywood or related industries, what chance would South Indian actors have? Less said the better about Pakistani actors in Indian cinema, because they are no different than North Indian actors.

This also highlights one other important difference between what is available to male actors and female actors, ugly, talent-less female Bollywood actresses have successfully transitioned into Hollywood using the excuse of diversity but something similar doesn’t seem to be happening with male Bollywood actors, this is testament to the fact that throughout the world a favorable situation exists for female actresses to enjoy their passive sexuality, whereas actors don’t have such a favorable situation, and girls and women are too busy self-obsessed and self-centered to create a movie industry to hire actors. These Indian Bollywood actors don’t have skills, talents and beauty to be better than side actors and supporting actors in Hollywood, and they a lot of rotten ego to accept any roles less than leading actors.

Interestingly, the two clips that BBC ran were of two different actors and most wondered how the channel could not differentiate between the two. Worst still, the clip of Amitabh Bachchan that the channel used was from Kabhie Kabhie- a film that featured Shashi Kapoor as well.  Trolled by people, BBC's Paul Royall issued an apology and wrote, "#BBCNewsTen is very sorry wrong images were used to mark the death of Shashi Kapoor.
