a chapter 6 update for all you dear lovely people whom i adore 🤲

we are going back to split pov! as of rn, we’ll be starting with remus & ending w sirius (but don’t hold me to that, it’s early stages and we all know they like to flip on us last minute sometimes). this chapter will take place a few days after where we ended in chapter 5, with remus back in the city and sirius very much stewing in the aftermath of all that stuff that happened for him over Halloween weekend. yes, there will be in-person interactions this time, and yes, we are going to be reaching something of a breaking point by the end of the new chapter ✨

what kind of breaking point, you ask?

i also somehow don’t have a first line for this chapter yet, but i do already have the first line of chapter 7??? idk how that happened. but i’ll have some little sneak peaks to post in the next couple of weeks, and maybe another little out of context post bc i love those lmaoooo

on a less fun and more timeline-related note, i had a very (very!!!!!) rough weekend and start to the week and haven’t written more than about 500 new words for this chapter (‘new’ because i already had a good chunk of a first draft written). i’m giving myself a bit of time to breathe & grieve a loss this week, taking some days off of work, and getting back into the swing of things as the urge to write strikes. once again i love & appreciate u all so so very much for always being so kind and understanding of the time i take between updates. <333

Female Humpback whales, besides being complex and fabulous communicators [the guys are too], are also totally into having BFFs. In that time, they began to realize that female humpback whales not only make friends with one another but reunite each year. They remember their pals and even find them across the ocean and among other whales. When a female humpback meets her friend, they simply float along together, eating and enjoying each other’s company. These friendships seem to have benefits as female humpbacks who hang out in this way are healthier and give birth to more calves each year. However, friendships between females and males (or even male-male friendship) are mostly unheard of. For reasons that no one can explain, only the ladies like to hang out with each other.

Lots of species of whales are know to have homosexu-whale relationships and/or orgies! This includes: Beluga whales, bowhead whales, fin whales, grey whales, killer whales (orcas), right whales, and sperm whales (hehehehe).

Also most whales don’t mate for life and often have multiple partners in one breeding season for optimal calf ...uh, production?
