International Women’s MONTH 2025

Here’s to celebrating International Women’s Day 3/8/25 We are all #Queens today doing the unseen thankless work making a house a home, building companies sometimes from the front leading, most times from the back supporting. We sacrifice ourselves to make the world love.

I celebrate my fellow #womeninblues. I wanted to highlight the often overlooked talented women who have dedicated their work, their life and world to the music of #theblues, and it’s historic #AmericanRoots. I may not have started out in blues yet #Bluesrock chose me over my many years of performing. I honored and humbled to be among the many living and passed female performers who have brightened the world one song at a time:

Bar Redux Presents Junco Partner           Sunday, June 9th  @9pm to 11pm with Marsellus Fariss & Scott Carver Junco Partner- Armed with a dobro and an upright bass, this New Orleans based duo skillfully resurrect sounds and musical traditions from a bygone era. Plucking sounds from ancient folk, blues and R&B records that once kept jukeboxes full of nickels and juke joints hopping; Junco Partner (like the ancient New Orleans piano song they’re named after) are full of wit, charm, and a sound that’s instantly memorable. The duo started in 2007 in Asheville, NC when Marsellus Fariss and Chris Kew were seeking to play gigs in smaller intimate venues to offset their musical exploits in larger and louder bands. Since then, they’ve performed in all venues great and small, from neighborhood pubs to large concert venues opening for major acts such acts as Blues Traveler. ​"#RiverNMe," the latest single from #Arkansas Americana group Ten Penny Gypsy, is an infectious, acoustic skiffle that enthusiastically pays homage to the classic #AmericanRoots music of the early 20th century. Recorded as a studio outtake from the group's "Fugitive Heart" sessions, the song has become a fan favorite, and is a staple of Ten Penny Gypsy's live concert performances.

The vintage video for "River N' Me" is beautifully set on the banks of the Arkansas River near Little Rock. It's presentation in black and white, complete with phonograph scratches and a reel-to-reel flicker, uniquely captures the joy and innocence of a bygone era. Ten Penny Gypsy are #JustinPatterson, #LauraLynnDanley, and #BuddyCase. Since forming in 2017, the group has been nominated for seven Arkansas CMA awards, and Buddy Case was named Guitar Player of the Year at the 2021 Arkansas Country Music Awards.
