😣 MY BATTLE WITH ADULT ACNE ⠀⠀⠀ I’ve wanted to post these for years. A lot of you appreciate how real I am on my page, so I’ll continue to create content about REAL life. I’m more than the 1% of my life I share with you on social media. I want you to follow me as a PERSON. If you want to follow only gymnastics and business, follow @trainlikeagymnast, but on this page I will share more relatable posts, so you can realize you’re not alone. ⠀⠀⠀ 👉 If you’ve ever struggled with acne as a teen or an adult, you know how it can make you feel. ⠀⠀⠀ ▪️ You feel like everyone’s looking at your face, not your eyes ▪️ You feel happy on the inside, then you get sad when you see yourself in the mirror ▪️ You wonder if you’re the only one going through this ▪️ You want to cover it up with makeup, but you want it to heal too ▪️ If it gets really bad, the emotional pain turns into physical pain on your face ⠀⠀⠀ In 2015, I avoided going out because I didn’t want anyone to see my face & my self esteem was shot. The right side of my face was painful and itchy. When it got so bad that I needed professional help, (I went to Ava MD/ @dravasays in Santa Monica), and antibiotics, topical remedies and a fading cream (@ambiskincare) literally changed my life... until I turned 26 and lost my good health insurance. 😑 I’ve had a second wave of struggle. ⠀⠀⠀ So here’s what you’re looking at: ⠀⠀⠀ Slide 1️⃣: AUG 2020 ✨ Mostly bare face with natural light Slide 2️⃣: JULY 2015 ✨ The worst of the worst, just before I started treatment Slide 3️⃣: OCT 2015 ✨ After I started antibiotics, you can see the texture evened out, but the discoloration remained Slide 4️⃣: NOV 2017 ✨ Consistent treatment led to the best I have ever felt about my face - I could go out without makeup on, I felt like people saw ME, I was modeling often, it was one less stressor Slide 5️⃣: YESTERDAY ✨ Not the best, not the worst, but still trying to figure it out with a new seen, @jeffnhick. Using a different antibiotic during PMS, topical as needed, sunscreen and fading cream every day. Still on this journey as I approach 30. ⠀⠀⠀ 🙏🏼 Has this post helped you in any way?
