AU idea: Sofia's and Amber's roles are "swapped," Sofia's born royal, Amber is a commoner. But, Sofia absolutely hates being royal, she doesn't like the standards, people doing things for her, having to attend parties and balls, she doesn't enjoy a moment of it, her dream for when she comes of age is to leave all of it behind, live in a cottage by the forest or in a small village, merely go by "Sofia" and just enjoy a calm, normal life.

Meanwhile, Amber has always been obsessed with Royal life, knowing everything there is to know about it, the etiquette, the activities, she loved everything and wanted nothing more but to be royal and live in a big castle. She always knew there was more meant for her than where she came from.

Once they became sisters, they traded favours with eachother. Amber would attend everything Sofia was expected to, wherever a princess of Enchancia was needed, she was there, and Sofia would stay back to read, play with her animals, all of the mundane activities she always wanted to do. Amber got to do what she enjoyed, and so did Sofia.

Amber would defend her sister's "odd" choices, like sewing her own, simple dresses, not wanting to be involved in big, royal things.

Sofia always tells Amber she was born to be a princess, that she was perfect for it. She's glad at least one of them can enjoy the royal life.

I rewatched "The curse of princess Ivy" and I can't get over how cute Cedric is- I just want to protect him. I love feeling protective, sadly I'm a coward myself... However, Swann isn't!! MUST PROTECC THE SORCERER

When the episode is happening, if Swann was in the timeline, at this point he would have developped feelings for Cedric already, but not said anything yet. And it's probably the same for Cedric. Yay useless info about my ship!!

Sofia's Fear Of Storms: Lullaby For A Stormy Night

Amber heard a knock at her door.

"Whaaaat is iiiiit?" She groaned.

"Amber, have you seen your sister?" Her father asked.

"Sofia's scared of storms, so we wanted to check on her, but she isn't in her room," her mother explained.

Amber sat up in her bed.

"Have you checked with Cedric?" She asked.

Roland raised an eyebrow at his daughter.

Miranda furrowed her brow.

Amber gave her parents a flat look.

"She almost always goes to Cedric first when she's scared or needs help, unless she runs into someone else who can help her before she gets to him. Maybe you should check with him before you come to me next time."

She wanted to be surprised at her parents shocked faces upon hearing this, but she knew they hadn't noticed or been present for many of the things that happened to their children, no matter how loving or attentive they were. Big things tended to happen when the king and queen were busy or in a different place than their children.

"Still, if she's really that scared of storms, maybe I should go with you to find her and check on her. Come on."

The king and queen followed Amber out into the hallway, wondering how they had missed Sofia becoming so close with their royal sorcerer that she'd go to him for help before them.

Miranda wondered if it had anything to do with Cedric having a slight resemblance to Sofia's father.

They reached the tower and found Cedric's door was open just a crack.

"What's going on?" James asked quietly from behind them, having woken up to a sound outside his room and followed his family to the tower out of curiosity when he'd seen them leaving the hallway.

It was just as they reached the door that they heard Cedric ask, "Is there a reason you're so scared of storms, Princess Sofia?"

James got closer to the door to listen better upon hearing these words.

"My mom told me a storm took my papa away. I don't want anyone else to disappear like he did," Sofia cried, sounding younger than Amber, James, or Roland had ever heard her sound. Amber wondered if she could convince her parents to get the whole family into 1 room for a sleepover the next night there was a storm like this. Royal sorcerer and animals included if that made Sofia feel better.

Amber stopped at the door with James. Her parents stopped with her as they listened.

"Ah," Cedric said. "That does sound quite scary, but storms do not mean any harm, my dear. I don't think the storm meant to take your father from you. I can't tell you for certain that you won't lose anyone else in a storm ever again, because life and storms are both very unpredictable, but I can tell you that it is unlikely to happen, and storms do many good things for us most of the time."

Roland opened the door a little wider to find that Cedric was kneeling and holding Sofia like something precious and fragile as she latched onto him tightly.

"Really?" Sofia looked up at her father figure friend.

"Of course, my dear!"

Thunder boomed loudly outside and everyone present felt their hearts break as Sofia flinched and squeaked.

Cedric's words didn't seem to have calmed the princess down as much as he'd hoped, but they did seem to have helped at least a little. "Would you like to hear the song that my mother used to sing to me when I got scared during storms at your age?"

"I'd like that," Sofia sniffled. The royals listened from the other side of the door as Cedric started to hum before he began to sing.

"Little child, be not afraid

Though rain pounds harsh against the glass

Like an unwanted stranger, there is no danger

I am here tonight"

His voice was soft as the words left his mouth.

"Little child, be not afraid

Though thunder explodes and lightning flash

Illuminates your tear-stained face

I am here tonight"

Roland wondered when Cedric had become more of a father figure to Sofia than he was.

"And someday you'll know

That nature is so

The same rain that draws you near me

Falls on rivers and land

On forests and sand

Makes the beautiful world that you'll see

In the morning"

Sofia's crying slowed.

"Little child, be not afraid

Though storm clouds mask your beloved moon

And its candlelight beams, still keep pleasant dreams

I am here tonight"

Miranda put a hand on her husband's shoulder as she wondered why Cedric seemed to be doing a better job of comforting Sofia than she had ever managed to do during a storm.

"Little child, be not afraid

Though wind makes creatures of our trees

And their branches to hands, they're not real, understand

Cedric stroked Sofia's hair lightly.

"And someday you'll know

The twins knew their sister felt safest with Cedric, but they were surprised to see him acting in such a fatherly way towards the girl.

"For you know, once even I was a

But a gentle someone always came

To dry all my tears, trade sweet sleep for fears

And to give a kiss goodnight"

Cedric lightly wiped the tears from Sofia's cheeks with his thumbs as he kneeled in front of her and continued to sing.

"Well now I am grown

And these years have shown

That rain's a part of how life goes

But it's dark and it's late

So I'll hold you and wait

'Til your frightened eyes do close"

Amber and James silently opened the door the rest of the way and went to sit on the floor next to their sister and the sorcerer she'd become so close with.

"And I hope that you'll know

In the morning"

Miranda and Roland followed their children into the room and they each put a hand on one of Sofia's shoulders when they sat with her on the floor.

"Everything's fine in the morning

The rain'll be gone in the morning

But I'll still be here in the morning"

Cedric made sure to emphasize the final line of the song and Sofia pulled away slightly to give him a small smile as the words left his mouth. She then turned to look at her parents and siblings as her mother leaned down to kiss her forehead.

Cedric smiled softly at the family as they all let Sofia know that they were there with her and wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Well, the end of the year is coming up and I have realized how not very often I end up posting my work so I would like to start sharing more updates with you guys and works in progress. In a modern AU Amber would be getting a new iphone every year and Sofia would be clinging onto the ten year old-passed down Nokia that's barely working.

I know it's a TV show for actual children, but the least believable thing about the Sofia the First TV show right now is these two children really pressing their grandma about a lie. I'm telling you right now my grandma could lie boldly to my face and unless she was lying about dying, I would nod and go read a book. I would leave that woman alone. I am not bothering her to divulge her old lady secrets.

Some time ago I wanted to draw StF characters during high school. I liked thinking about what they would look like at that age so much that a whole AU was born, which I painted.

During adolescence, a lot changes in a person's life: the environment, attitude, appearance and even one’s own self.

It became interesting for me to confront the characters with this, so the main theme of the AU is the first changes and the unknown that follows them.

As you may have noticed, the sisters are drawn in school uniforms. I think that the routine of high school gave a powerful impetus to the development of the characters' problems, because school is almost the main part of any teenager's life. This is a large concentration of stress, and its consequences are reflected in my AU.

Overall, I hope you enjoy reading this. I have divided the information on the characters and will make their profiles in separate posts. Links will be below as these profiles are published.
