There Are No Secrets To Success

I am not very good at a lot of things. Probably most things, I'm not very good at. I'm top level, mastery level at just a couple things. A very narrow band. But what I am good at is learning and so I spend a lot of my time learning how to learn. I read books. I listen to podcasts. I watch videos. I approach people and I'm like, hey man, that thing that you did there, that was really cool. 

Can you show me how you did it? And they're like, yeah, it's just this and I'm like, whoa, wait a second, and I have to break it down. I have a slight learning disability. So it takes me a minute to learn things, but what I've discovered in life is that even if you are not as good as somebody else at something, if you work harder than them you can seem like you're better and you can achieve better results just by working harder. 

Now if you're naturally good, if you naturally have a genetic, where you're you've got some what they call God-given talent at something and there are people like that. that's  awesome. The majority of us for the majority of things we need to succeed in business to succeed in life to succeed in all those things that we want to succeed at are not going to have those innate abilities. So what do we need to do? We need to learn and is it possible to accelerate the process of learning? Absolutely! If you're not as good at something as somebody else what can you do? Work harder.

Broad Stroked Or Specialist? - What's Your Game?

This is a series on how to hack and grow rich, make money online and how to overcome life and business/career issues.

▶ Video Transcript: I was 15 years old thinking I want to find wealth, fortune all the great things that America offers. Books were my friends. I read books by Napoleon Hill, books by Og Mandino, all the great old-time writers of that time. I read Tony Robbins and Wayne Dyer and all the personal development guys. This other guy named Stuart Wilde. I read his books and I thought, man, you know what? I'm I'm gonna leave home and I left home. I left and I was sleeping at that time in abandoned buildings or buildings that were under construction. Los Angeles was in a huge building boom at that time.

So I realized that I could get into these buildings late at night when the brokers weren't in there, wake up in the morning before they got there and I'd be out and I'd be living in luxury houses, maybe there wasn't electricity or water in those days in some of the places because they weren't built yet but it was a safe place to lay my head and subsequent to that I realized that there was a big electronic music scene. I had found a mentor, a guy who had agreed to take me under his wing and he was very familiar with the electronic music scene, the rave scene, the dance scene. So I got involved in that. I started throwing some clubs to make a little bit of extra money. I was still sleeping wherever I could lay my head and I remember that I would sleep behind the speakers, most people don't know this. In front of speakers, very loud, very hard to sleep. Behind speakers, super quiet and very warm. So I would sleep behind the speakers. I would wake up the club, would still be going on and I started looking around thinking how is the money being made in these places to realize only that it was by the drug dealers.
