Sonny's mind was still reeling from the fact that he and Amanda had kissed a couple of nights ago while celebrating Fin and Phoebe. He hadn't ever expected it to happen and had given up on the dream of being the one she would pick a long time ago. But things had changed. And it was a change that felt right. They'd made small talk through text but had agreed to talk that night when he got off work and after the kids had been put to bed.

He picked up her favorite take out from the Chinese place close to the precinct and headed to her place. He'd also picked up a single red rose. His lips curled into a smile as he put the rose to his nose and sniffed it before softly knocking on her door.

The butterflies in his stomach were in full flight as he waited for her to answer the door. He wanted this more than he wanted anything in his life, and the fact that he loved her girls like they were his own was icing on the cake for him. His hands shook slightly as he heard the lock tumble and the door opened.

"Hey..." he breathed softly, drinking her in before stepping into the apartment and kissing her cheek gently.

Empathy radiates from the depths of Liv's tired eyes. Rollins's concern is most appreciated. There's a shy, half-abashed smile, one she hopes Rollins will find reassuring, that finds her face. "I'm fine. I promise. If I wasn't, I'd tell you." Returning to work after the Lewis incident was not easy. The fact that her co-workers are still terrified, leaves a sinking feeling in her gut. "If it makes you feel better, I can take El home with me. You have so much to worry about, so much many things greater than her."

Olivia felt herself relax when Amanda seemed to understand that they needed to take this slow. She would feel better about it all if they did this the right way instead of rushing into everything. Things could get heavy and fast, and since she'd become a mother to Noah, she hadn't allowed herself to fall in head first. Not even with Ed.

She shifted on the edge of the bed, glancing toward the door to Amanda's room. It was closed so they would have a little bit of an announcement if Noah or Jessie were to come barreling in. Noah was good at knocking first, but this wasn't his home so he would likely follow Jessie's lead.

She moved her hand back to Amanda's swollen belly. "Are you really doing okay? You look exhausted. I know you hate being on desk duty, but it won't be long now." She quickly calculated in her head. "What is it? Three weeks until your due date?" Amanda should really be on leave, but she knew Amanda was saving her maternity leave until after the baby was born so that she would have to miss as little work as necessary.

Amanda nodded. “I don’t wanna hurt the kids if something were to go down between us..” She said to her softly as she reached over to take the others hand softly and kiss the top of it. “I understand..” She said to her again softly as she sat on the couch softly.

Amanda smiled softly and gazed into your eyes. “You’re pretty eyes..”

Benson's expression could not veil the astonishment that came from Rollins's words. She wasn't used to having compliments lavished upon her; not even by a friend as dear to her as Amanda. A wispy smile touches the corners of her lips even as she bashfully ducks her head. "Thanks." She murmurs. Her eyes were often large, but doleful and tired. Most days though, she suspected they were tainted a hazy red from lack of sleep.

Amanda's eyes on the other hand, they always seemed to bring Liv's to shame with their blue-grey tints.

A breath is tugged into her lungs. "Do you want or need another coffee or something?" She offers softly, cradling her far too empty cup in her hands.

"Thanks." Erin said, a relieved sigh that she was telling her that she told her so.

"I should have listened to you from the start." {Erin Lindsey.}

Amanda shook her head and placed her hand on the others shoulder. “Its okay..” she said with a small sigh as she rubbed her shoulder.

"Sorry." Kaylia apologized, wincing along with Amanda. "How'd you get injured again? I'll need it for the report."

Amanda winced at the pain and gazed over at the woman with a nod. “Okay..”

Olivia frowned then. She shook her head. "I'm not sorry that you told me," she told her softly. She didn't want the kids walking in and overhearing something that might be confusing to them so she kept her voice soft. She reached for Amanda's hand, wanting the blonde to look at her. "Like I said, Amanda. I didn't say no. I just ask that we take this slow. Really think about it, that's all. We have two kids that would be right in the middle of this. Well, soon to be three…" She touched Amanda's stomach gently. "We have to do right by everyone involved."

Amanda nodded to her softly. “I understand, I wanted to tell you cause you deserved know but I didn’t wanna jeopardize the friendship we already have. “I really care about you a lot so yeah..” She said to her softly and sat down on the couch and rubbed her belly softly. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have sprung that on you..”

Olivia's insides felt like a quivering mess. She swallowed thickly, careful to keep her breathing as steady as she could with Amanda this close to her. She reached for the blonde's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Let's take it slow. See what happens?" she offered. She didn't want to rush things and mess them up for everyone. Her squard counted on her, and she wasn't about to put that in jeopardy even though she cared deeply for Amanda and Jessie and the baby that hadn't yet joined them. So it all had to be done with considerable care.

"I'm not saying no," she breathed softly, giving Amanda a soft smile as her eyes looked away shyly. This feeling was new for her. And it was more terrifying than anything she had ever experienced on the job.

Amanda looked over at her. “I have feelings for you Olivia, I always have but I know that I’m crossing lines and you are too and I don’t wanna mess up the friendship we already have, but I had to tell you that I’ve been feeling things for you for a while now but yeah..” She said and then gazed away from the other female as she looked down.

Olivia's heart skipped a beat as she let her eyes move up to Amanda's face. "Maybe next time you can join the kids and me at the park," she offered. And it wouldn't be long before they would be pushing a stroller with Amanda's new baby girl resting inside. "I'm glad you were able to rest though. I'll need to be going soon. Noah's got homework." And traffic at this time of day would already be a nightmare.

"But we should talk. About…us. About what this is." She bit the inside of her lip as her nerves started to take over. Her eyes moved down to her lap before moving back up to meet Amanda's eyes. "What-what is this, Amanda?" She was her subordinate. They were Captain and detective. There were so many lines being crossed. And they were starting to blur which had never been good for Olivia in the past. She didn't want to mess up her friendship.

Amanda nodded. “Yeah, we slept about two hours before she woke up and was kicking the life out of me..” She chuckled before she gazed over into the others eyes as she ran her fingers over the back of her hand softly. “I missed you all while you were gone..” She muttered softly to the other.

Olivia had to take a breath as the change in their relationship had seemed to shift too quickly. She didn't want to upset Amanda given that she'd been so much with Al leaving her pregnant and the stress of the job. She touched her belly gently, giving it a slight rub. "Jessie and Noah helped me walk Franny. We got ice cream." She met Amanda's eyes then, smiling at her. "Brought you some on the way back home and put it in the freezer for whenever you're craving it." She looked down where her hand was still on Amanda's rounded belly. "She let you get any rest?"

Amanda woke up from her slumber as she saw Olivia standing beside the bed. She grabbed the others hand and pulled her down onto the bed in a hug. “I hope the girls weren’t too much trouble for you..” She muttered to her softly as she wrapped her arm around her and placed a small kiss to the others cheek and forehead.

Olivia managed to round up Franny and the two kids and get the out the door. All the while, she thought that maybe she could get used to this. She'd never expected to have a son, but maybe now she would have a son, a daughter with one on the way. Plus a dog. She kept a firm grip on Franny's leash as they loaded into the elevator.

"What she would do first, kiddos? Park or ice cream?" They both shouted ice cream in unison as well as Franny barking to add her vote. She chuckled as the doors closed with them inside.

Olivia sighed happily as she let Jessie unlock the door to her and Amanda's apartment. They'd spent a couple of hours at the park after getting ice cream, and now Franny was worn out. She immediately went inside for a drink of water as soon as the door opened. She let the kids take off her leash and put it away as she told them to go play quietly in Jessie's room while she checked on Amanda.

She quietly stepped into Amanda's room. "Amanda?" she called softly, trying to let her eyes adjust to the dark.

Amanda smiled. “I will, I promise..” She smiled and wrapped her arms around her and hugged her closely to her. “I’ll see you all when you get back, beautiful..” she muttered to her softly as she walked to her room and plopped herself onto the bed and closed her eyes trying her best to doze off into a deep sounding sleep.
