What’s a headcanon you have that you’ll defend with your life?
Hmm, not to talk about Ondolemar all the time but based off his actions in the game; key words actions, he cannot be all bad.
Yes he says the normal Thalmor propaganda but he 1) asks you for a favour 2) will help you at the Embassy 3) days the line
Like yes Thalmor but also, clearly he’s got a bit more nuanced (that obviously isn’t explored further in the game but that’s not the focus of Skyrim).
It’s fine if you just want to kill him on sight because he’s Thalmor but please don’t be mean to people who do find him interesting. There’s in game evidence that is great to elaborate on with headcanons.
But I would also say I don’t really have many headcanons I’d defend. Nowadays I mostly keep my headcanons in my fics due to a bad experience I had posting some on Tumblr. Made a post about a character and someone wrote an essay in the comments of how I was ✨wrong✨ which looking back I didn’t say anything that warranted such a response. But I know some people don’t like seeing a take on their fav they think is bad so it is what it is but man, it has made me think twice about posting headcanons.
I don’t even like tagging Ondolemar in my ship stuff because I don’t want someone to get mad at my headcanons 😅 even putting the oc/canon tag doesn’t feel like enough. Much easier to hope no one notices and if they do throw my hands up and say “yup I’m stupid”
And I’m okay with this! I need Tumblr and fandom to be a fun time for me and this is what works. I hate it so much but I am a very sensitive person.
TLDR: Ondolemar not all bad but also I don’t have many headcanons I’d defend.
#eve rambles#asks#thank you for the ask!#sorry this got weird#ended up reminding me of this incident and I rambled#I’m okay tho!

Dearest Mohgreal, can I please get one large Mohgwyn Lord of Blood with a side of unhinged passion for the character ask game?
yes you may lucaswarmchocolate...thank you for giving me a excuse to ramble about mohg
Sexuality Headcanon: Would it be too obvious if I said gay? Yes? Okay. (also if someone out there headcanons him as aspec i love you)
Gender Headcanon: cis male...but honestly i think transmasc mohg is very cool. mostly came into my brain like a littel snake after the transfem morgott propaganda being spread, but i really dig it now. mohgreal deeply approved
A ship I have with said character: I, as you will find out through these asks, am not much of a shipper. I think he's very shippable though, and I enjoy seeing people write him in relationships. Good stuff. I've also thought about Rennala/Mohg in recent times, just because im a filthy rarepair enjoyer. But yeah, no big ship I enjoy for him. All of them are still pretty cool though.
A BROTP I have with said character: Morgott probably. Though, I think him interacting with any of demigod siblings is VERY fun. He sort of just clicks with all of them and imagining interactions between them is again very fun. Mostly refering to fanon land I live in here since fromsoftware only feeds me scraps :|
A NOTP I have with said character: Maybe Godfrey/Mohg or Marika/Mohg. Purely because I dislike both Godfrey and Marika. Other then that no big notp.
A random headcanon: do you want a list? because i've made like several posts with LONG mohg headcanons so
General Opinion over said character: mohg. one of my all time favs for literally no reason. I just think he's neat.

Dumb Headcanon thoughts PART 2. This time it’s the Slugcat Edition... Along with a few bonus things because goodness.
This time we’re starting off a bit more hot. Mostly because I actually have a lot of additional things to say in general regarding this one simple fact. It is canon. Pebbles refers to you multiple times throughout different campaigns as a rodent. And sure you could take that as him looking at the slugcat and been a bit of a SatAM Robotnik about it... but I more like to take it as a statement of fact because it can lead to so much fun theorizing... thus my top sheet.
Side note, seriously, go look up what animals are in the rodent family, there’s some WILD revelations of it. Anyway... point the first... Beaver Inspiration... this also explains Slugcat buoyancy... their fur traps air for insulation in the water... Thus they naturally kind of go UP-- On the other hand, they regularly need to groom that oil through for this layer to do its job properly...
WITNESS... MY CREATURE DESIGN.
Dsbvjhbfsjhbfjhds, no but seriously, I have a lot of thoughts regarding this. I also really love the way the fandom has come to the conclusion that Slugcats are descended from a simple pipe cleaning organism. I agree honestly, their diets are just too funky to not be from something like that... also the edible moulds throughout the game.
On top of that, I think that said organism was also a “template” one. Aka, lab rats. It would explain why the iterators seem to tend towards Slugcats more than anything else...
Oh side note. I have another personal reasoning for giving Scugs white blood aside it just been funky. But because of how Rain World canonically doesn’t have a full divide between plants and animals... I got inspired specifically by milkweed plants, and some... things people believe about them.
Basically there’s an old, old rumour about it having healing properties. Also that squish fact... it’s based again on real world information. This is directly inspired by how rats can squeeze into gaps(also raccoons but they’re not rodents). Also just some fun to explain pipe travel... this is how shortcuts work tbh.
Anycase, yeah... More of the biology and developments thing. I do think the iterators did some encouraging of the development. Not entirely their fault though. Not at all. Again, there’s a lot of environmental pressure. Different creatures responded to it differently... for the lantern mice it became a matter of getting up high and then... well... yeah. They didn’t find much pressure from then on.
For the slugcats though, they ended up in the further wilds. In the ruins, and nomadic.
At some point I’ll come back on Scavengers. But not anytime soon. For now, here’s my slugcats are sentient propaganda... Which I fully believe is because of how they function in community and seem to be nomadic. I mean sheesh, Gourmand’s whole implied campaign. The iterators using them as messengers, or even with slightly more complex tasks... Or majorly more complex tasks...
Pebbles just expecting Rivulet to somehow know and understand retrieving his Rarefaction cell... To deliver it to Moon... also on Moon’s side... Iggy’s whole... thing, which I’m certain is the overseer’s decision alone, but just pleading for the slugcats to go bring neurons now! Yeah. Go Iggy, if they were a slugcat or other creature they would so choose violence. Love that little overseer.
SURPRISE. YOU FELL INTO MY TRAP CARD. This isn’t just a post talking about Slugcats but I also wanted to talk about the Cycle. In which case, yes I am a dirty heathen who thinks that the respawn is real. But before you stone me for that, I do have some in game evidence. As well arguments for why it doesn’t work on everything. Beyond just mechanics...
I think that there’s a few necessary ingredients for it to work. And the core to them is ties to your identity and sense of self, attachments to form and body. Which solidifies as you grow up, different people and creatures at different ages(although most creatures aren’t that attached I don’t think... why you can lose tamed lizors and tamed slups who haven’t found that connection yet). ALSO YES, I do think that a human randomly in Rain World would just... reincarnate... the greater cycle it is...
Mostly because to have a sense of yourself and place you also need to be more aware of the world. A place not just in your body but the world around you... I have more comments but those can wait for when I get around to doing a proper talk of what it means to ascend and break the cycle...
From Dust to Dust and Ashes to Ashes all that’s left of you is others memories, nonexistence just returning to once cosmic dust.
Final last point bonus. Just some Spearmaster thoughts really. I love to imagine Spearmaster is just one really messed up creechur because Suns literally doesn’t understand as much as they think they do. Amazingly designed, but really horror creature in action.
#Rain World#Slugcats#THybrid Art#THybrid Iterates#headcanons#I WILL FIGHT YOU SCUGS ARE RODENTS#And also very much sentient#Early early culture but still sentient#Same level as Scavs#Also sorry I'm a respawn believer

Tech Trick(s)
Right after watching the 3rd Loki Episode I was about to come here and post:
If that hasn´t all been a ruse I´m going to RIOT!
Now I´m at the point where I´m absolutely unwilling to believe Loki would get recklessly drunk (excuse me “very full”) during an apocalypse and neglectfully destroy their only option of escape and I´m more occupied with the question just WHEN and HOW Loki Laufeyson took over!
I´m inclined to believe that at least (A) the broken TemPad was an illusion that Loki showed Sylvie Laufeydottir. Why? > To get information about Sylvie & gain influence on the overall situation Getting them “fake” stranded puts Loki in a position where he can have a conversation with her, judge her character, try to find out what her plans are and probably get her on his side or make her think he is on hers. Not only would he have time to work his “silver tongue” and get to know her and/or get to her with his conversation skills but additionally the way Sylvie would act within a possibly deadly apocalypse scenario surely would tell Loki a lot about her. > To maybe portray himself as a bit more naive than he is? Having a party with the people in the train would then have been part of setting the broken TemPad illusion up. “I just sat on it and it broke” would probably be hard to believe, but it also paints Loki in a certain light. Sylvie calls Loki a “clown”, “not a serious man”. This kind of hedonistic Loki is someone whom you would need to keep an eye on or else his irresponsibility could cause you trouble but this kind of “clown” is not someone from whom you would expect some serious scheming and plans. I think Loki might be in the midst of trying to portray himself as someone Sylvie might underestimate. [On a Sidenote: This would fit well with how they talk about plans in the episode. Sylvie is obviously invested in her “years in the making” plan, a comment Loki seems to wave aside a bit, just saying yes to placate her. Later Sylvie informs Loki that his getting in the train plan “wasn't even a plan.” and that “Plans have multiple steps.” This again paints Loki as simpler than he is. There´s more plan talk but I leave it at that.] This would however still mean that they are dependent on the power source of the Ark (which I´m reluctant to believe see below) hence why I am having the suspicion that the “Trick” started earlier and (B) the TemPad was never truly “outta juice”
“You don't know how to Recharge it.” “Of course I do. You're not the only tech savvy Loki.” I´m inclined to take his word there. Although he played it as masking his lack of knowledge, I do think that he actually might be tech savvy here. My current headcanon is that Loki, aside from beating time, actually has watched those TVA propaganda training videos and absorbed all the information. Knowing what he is dealing with and how things work surely must be a key to whatever ambition he is following. You got to know how things work to mess them up, you have to see the order to unravel it and create chaos.
I´m betting Loki knows about the limits and capabilities of the TemPad and that one that seemingly needs recharging buys him some time with Sylvie and opportunities. Maybe Loki truly drained the TemPad of the energy to hand Sylvie a device that actually was not working, so she couldn´t see any trickery. Maybe he pulls out some battery device last minute, has had temporarily held the energy though some magic and has already put it back in a concealed TemPad. Or there was magic at play and the whole uncharged device was faked. Wouldn´t Sylvie have noticed any magical tampering? Thor needed to throw things at “Loki” to reveal his magic. While Sylvie didn´t touch the broken remnants of the TemPad she held the “outta juice” one and she could have more insight as magic user but the episode established that they both are not necessarily entirely familiar with each other´s magic. >> It´s difficult to say just how much Sylvie know´s about Loki´s skills, but she does recognize them as not unremarkable and not something she can just act against. This seems to be proven by her action of not trying to just take the TemPad from Loki. >> Loki´s familiarity with Sylvie´s skills is a bit trickier. When the first explosion hits he asks “Is that one of your powers?“, maybe genuinely wondering, maybe not. Mostly this episode is about one particular skill: Enchantment is not among the faves Loki lists to the TVA in his lecture mode. (On a side note: The “But you already knew that” (1x2) is so clever in that moment, it´s played as humble, as Loki coming out of lecture mode and “realizing” this, but it also tells us that he didn´t reveal any new information to the TVA or didn´t clarify any complex matter for them. Technically they should know everything anyway but I´m wondering if the show will show us something up Loki´s sleeves that they didn´t.) But later he remarks: “Enchantment is a clever trick. Cowardly, a bit amateurish, but clever” (1x2) It seems he is implying that he´s well versed in it but above it. However in 1x3 Loki asks how Sylvie´s Enchantment works. Which does not necessarily mean he is not familiar and skilled in Enchantement himself, but he might indeed not quite know just how Sylvie in particular works with it. When Sylvie tries to enchant him, Loki points that out and says it won´t work, not because of him being a “magician” but because his “mind is too strong.” (1) Later he brings the power up again (2), not straight up asking how it works, but going for a more unassuming question of where she learned it. “So, where'd you learn to do the... You know, the... Whatever it is?“ He shows himself impressed that she´s an autodidact. Then he shifts to “how it works” and offers a quite simple thought “You just go into their minds and project some sort of illusion?“ The topic is dropped after Sylvie offers to just show him by enchanting him. Later Loki tries another angle (3) he again is offering a faulty (!) presumption of how the Enchantment works. “Here's an idea. What if you enchanted me and you could walk for both of us? Or I take a nap in my subconscious, and then you could just wake me when we arrive.“ Sylvie points out that his is in fact not how it works. After some remarks about “tactical advantage” she actually starts to explain to Loki! To which Loki says “And you call me a magician.“ again putting himself in the position of the lesser skilled one in this area. And I do think this might have been calculated and on purpose? I´m kind of talking myself into believing that Loki might know quite well how Enchantment works & I´m super surprised that Sylvie with all that inquiry about her skill never said something like: “Why would you want to know more about a cowardly, amateurish thing?!” Mirroring Lokis words from 1x2.
Moreover I´m wondering if there was an additional motive of “actually” trying their luck with the Ark. “Never had us on it” Loki says, implying they could change things and make the escape vessel leave. Which could have an element of caring about the people? Loki couldn´t act in Pompei, maybe he can here. Loki laments the fate of the woman that shot at them. “A pity the old woman chose to die, don't you think?” Then again he might just bring that up to gauge Sylvies reaction to it. He also made no attempt to help or ask her to come along. Then again that might not be a sign of not caring, but recognizing someone made their choice and respecting it. Going for the Ark could also have an element of gauging his influence on the course of time? Pompei is long past for this Loki, this scenario is not and there is no TVA currently present. So far Loki already “uncovered a huge hole” in TVA security (1x2) and he knows that the TVA is pruning divergent paths, but he is also in the midst of seeing that they aren´t infallible and this might be a chance to just test things a bit. Maybe he has an interest in seeing if he (now) can have an impact in “hijacking the ark and making sure it gets off this moon”. Maybe it´s also to see how the TVA would deal with these new variant survivors and if they are currently even capable to do so. This could be a moment to reassure himself that his actions have an impact and an opportunity to find out more about how the TVA works.
I do not think Loki would rely on hijacking the ark as a plan to get them to safety? If it is true that he does not know about this apocalypse, which is just given how many there are, likely, then the information Sylvie gave him is just not nearly enough to make a call like that. The Ark could have been stopped from leaving due to so many reasons and plenty far beyond their control and influence. Just like it happened. That would be an irresponsibly risky move. [Loki s1ep03 “Lamentis”] What do you think?

Hey hey hey I don’t have Tumblr BUT I saw your post about C!Tubbo dissociation headcanons and here I am, asking for them. And possibly more C!Tubbo headcanons. Preferably angsty. Just. Any of them. Please. Thank you.
oh, a fellow starved c!tubbo enthusiast. hello there, i do have some headcannons to spare luckily, hope you enjoy!! mostly this is the dissociation ones but i have some miscellaneous ones & songs at the end for you :]
so obviously uhhh tw for dissociation/depersonalisation/derealisation in this post!!! also going to put them under the cut bc this is long lmao
oh and disclaimer: this is very much based off my own experiences with (near constant) chronic dissociation so it might be different from other experiences!! yeah.
oh ALSO this is disorganized and probably missing stuff because i am going through a bad bout of spaciness as of right now, so apologies if anything is confusing, feel free to ask for clarification!
idk background timeline stuff so it fits into the story
at first he didn’t even realize he felt disconnected from things. it started off as a coping mechanism during combat and felt so similar to the feeling of being “in the zone” he’d known before that he didn’t question it
after a bit, it spread from only being there during battle to during conflict in general. still, he didn’t mind it—it actually made arguments more bearable because they felt almost secondhand.
eventually he came to use it as a crutch so much that it became constant.
that was when he started wanting it to go away.
and then because i can’t bear to give my precious c!tubbo constant dissociation he probably gets breaks from it sometimes idk lmao
his experiences:
gaps in memory
auditory processing issues
lots of depersonalisation and not recognizing himself in the mirror (which is even more fun/terrifying if you add in shapeshifter headcannons)
a lot of the time he feels like his actions aren’t his, which helped him to feel less bad doing morally ambiguous things (spying, exiling tommy, hunting technoblade, etc)
after it all he was left with near constant dissociation almost all the time.
it nearly always feels like the world is secondhand to him and he has no control/impact (ironic considering the power he has, and he knows that, but)
often wonders if he is dreaming and just waiting to wake up from a coma he’d gotten from one of his many battles.
when things get really bad he wishes he could just wake up from it.
often doesn’t recognize his hands looking down at them, especially with the burns he has now. they’re not his hands, right? but they are. they’re his hands. huh.
uhhh examples of where it could have been shown in plot if you squint lol
for example, that famous clip of him dancing while wilbur and tommy argue in the background would be a physical representation of him zoning out (dissociating) to get out of/away from an argument.
the whole yes man thing could have either been an auditory processing issue where he replied yes to wilbur without hearing what wilbur had asked OR a gap in memory where he didn’t remember telling tommy the opposite
he pulled away for like 5 months into snowchester and talked to hardly anyone but his husband and son. dissociation is hard to interact with people during because you feel so isolated for so many reasons—sometimes you feel you’re the only real thing there, sometimes it feels there’s a glass wall between you and everything else that IS real. and even ignoring that, most people can’t relate to feeling that way, leaving you even more alone. he could have pulled away because it was too much too keep going through that (i did that don’t recommend it tubbo JSJD)
miscellaneous headcannons that i don’t see very often:
after winning a battle, his instinct is to play a disc and look out at the sunset because that’s what he and tommy always did (see his lore yesterday (june 18th)—he did it with ranboo despite tommy not being there)
i’m rather fond of my original-l’manberg-citizens-consider-haircuts-and-fixing-up-appearances-affectionate-because-wilbur-did-it headcannon so i’ll add that here—basically wilbur gave everyone military cuts and new suits and everything. and while that was just for war, it was also because he cared about all of them. ever since, they all considered fixing up someone’s appearance an act of love.
tubbo refused to let anyone cut his hair after the red festival, not trusting anyone. he would probably let ranboo do it now, only he’s rather attached to the way it hides his burns and some of his horns and keeps him warm in the freezing snow.
he builds walls like how tommy builds cobblestone towers—a reflex, a coping mechanism, a habit. he built the l’manberg walls and ever since the defense has been second nature, whether for the best or the worst.
ive been waiting forever to share these i have way too many. i pass the hours staring out the window listening to misterwives and imagining c!tubbo animatics to it and now i have a chance to share them oh my god
so without further ado,
c!tubbo animatics i have in my head:
whywhywhy by misterwives: ok this one isn’t chalked out but it has him vibes
alone by misterwives: just him and ranboo. figuring things out. helping each other heal. i legitimately have an entire animatic in my head to this lyric by lyric and could make a fucking storyboard for it if only i could draw. if anyone wants me to write out lyric by lyric what it WOULD be though feel free to send an ask aHAHHAHAHA
over the rainbow by misterwives: a montage of c!tubbo just. finally going apeshit. that would be so cathartic alright and it’s such a badass song he deserves it
it’s my turn by misterwives: pretty much any times that tubbo finally got to do something back at someone who wronged him—the butcher army going after technoblade, him yelling at quackity about borders saying “well don’t i get to put my foot down too?” the lyrics “i know you’ve got your version of the story, i’m sick of saying sorry, i’m sick of always having to explain” during his spy arc PLEASE he had to justify everything he did and the “are you happier?” comment and schlatt breathing down his neck aAAAA give my boy a break (also the instrumental uses a lemon demon-type sound which makes me think of ranboo so i love imagining a cool bee dup building the outpost montage there snhshagahffn)
find my way home by misterwives: idk the vibes just fit man
oxygen by misterwives: hhhrnggg clingy duo angst oW
i did say i spend a lot of my time listening to misterwives and daydreaming c!tubbo animatics didn’t i?
anyways yeah. here’s some c!tubbo content to help us poor starved c!tubbo enthusiasts :’D also misterwives propaganda go listen to them female led band with a fucking badass lead singer with banger songs and incredible vocals and lyrics ANYWAY
#dsmp#tubbo#dream smp#mcyt#dissasociation tw#feel free to add your headcanons btw or ask for clarification on these!!! i would love to talk abt c!tubbo with you SHJDJDJDJD#dissociation tw#depersonalisation tw#derealization tw#allyster rambles#ask#anon

Rewatching Guardian - Episode 07 Part 2/3
Episode List || Part 1 | Part 3
SPOILERS for upto episode 40, SPOILERS for the novel.
Again, WHY THE OMINOUS MUSIC??! This is a funny scene!
I freaking love Chu Shuzhi omfg xD “Ahh” *nods sarcastically*
This confirms Zhao Yunlan was following Shen Wei xD
The two of them do some creepy stuff in the name of love that would be so disturbing without the context of Weilan lmao
Before Shen Wei can even greet her, Zhu Hong just gets straight down to business xD
“Gui Jian Chou” - This nickname was a direct reference to the novel and a nice little cookie for those that read the novel. But it’s just plain confusing for people that haven’t lol
Like, what, is this a hidden jest or roast to Zhao Yunlan’s shamelessness or something?? xD (I read the novel after I watched the drama. Did I mention that? I forgot. :< )
“I was scared into confusion” - My man you lie so easily but at least try-- TRY to make it convincing. I know you can do it.
I love Da Qing. I love that at this point Xiao Guo feels comfortable enough to laugh along with jokes and somewhat relax around Zhao Yunlan. I love this. Beautifuk
Also look at Shen Wei’s smile dgfugwfkwa omfg <3
“...What just happened? Why is he talking about bears? Is this a way to distract Zhao Yunlan from his identity or.....? Am I missing something????”
Yes. I was indeed missing something. I completely missed the fact that Shen Wei was trolling us all. I had no idea what hit me that first time I watched it. What a fool he made out of me lmao xD
I have questions though lol. It’s clear he’s been on about bears for a while. Shen Wei’s trolling for some reason. But, like, Zhao Yunlan just let him???
Just WHY was Shen Wei trolling us so hard?? I bet he was having the time of his life cackling on the inside lmao.
He’s so subtle that something as ridiculous as this went past my BS-radar and my troll-radar completely. I thought he was being serious and sincere. He’s spewing utter unconvincing BS without batting an eye!
I’m telling you, Shen Wei is probably very VERY good at lying and not half bad at politics. He just prefers not to and just becomes an actual wreck when facing Zhao Yunlan and I can’t get over this.
Small brain: Zhao Yunlan’s a troll. Big brain: Ye Zun’s the troll kiing. Mega brain: Shen Wei is the ultimate troll, the troll god.
Just look at his face in the second to last screenshot! That is the face of a man who’s trying very hard not to laugh and is quite pleased with himself.
WHAT A TROLL. xD
Youchu are weaker ghosts from the novel. Cool. I was kind of excited for them after seeing that drawing but that was some profound disappointment.
Also, if Da Qing was already thinking of Youchu, why did he not mention anything until now? Why let Shen Wei keep going on about bears?? xD
Shen Wei himself dealt with the case of Youchu infestation, so he didn’t think about it being a possibilities (hence the bear trolling. I’m never getting over the freaking bears.) because he did manage to send all the Youchu back to Dixing. It’s just Zhu Jiu’s putting them back on Haixing again.
Hah... Hoping this isn’t Zhao Yunlan thinking Hei Pao Shi’s incompetant or some shit. I don’t think so anyway, but still. The thought popped up in my head.
You don’t think it’s strange that Shen Wei knows about these hell gremlins but you draw the line at Shen Wei thinking the thugs don’t have Dixingren qualities?
Shen Wei could’ve been meaning how Dixingren would act on Haixing. A lot of Dixingren probably would be doing illegal stuff and commit robberies and stuff because of poverty. But they wouldn’t be so brazen as the two thugs. They’d take the money and GO. They wouldn’t wanna be taking risks with the looming presence of the SID and Hei Pao Shi. Not unless they’re really strong or after something specific, neither of which apply to the thugs.
But what Shen Wei probably meant was some inherent presense of dark energy or something Dixingren have specifically that either only Shen Wei can sense because of some power he Learnt, or because Shen Wei is strong and skilled enough to mask whatever it is that give away Dixingren to those who know what to look for. Hence why he can easily spot Dixingren but other Dixingren can’t tell he’s one until he gives himself away by lifting whatever invisible ‘mask’ or damper he’s got on. I have headcanons about this. I might make a post for it later. Not sure.
Shen Wei shutting up at this could be because 1) he’s already said too much and isn’t willing to give up more information that’d point to him being Hei Pao Shi.
2) Shen Wei is still hesitent to trust Zhao Yunlan with information that could be used to find a way to detect Dixingren in hiding that are simply just existing on Haixing. Not something horrible but seen as a crime regardless as it’d be a violation of the treaty.
Damn.
“It’s always that most are evil, few are kind” - The same way most people police would encounter would mostly be criminals IN A JUST AND IDEAL WORLD WHICH IS NOT THE WORLD WE LIVE IN, CLEARLY. UGH.
The Dixingren that are not “evil”, as he says, are staying out of trouble and mixing in with Haixingren.
Also when I say “evil”, read “desperate” and “cornered”.
Zhao Yunlan has already partially made up his mind about trusting Shen Wei. I’m glad he noticed that Shen Wei is trying to protect somebody, whoever it is that’s Shen Wei source of information on Dixingren or just himself, by not telling everything to the SID which doesn’t have the best reputation.
I’m also glad to see how despite the anti-Dixingren propaganda of Xingdu Bureau and basically every record there is about Dixing since the war, Zhao Yunlan’s able to try to broaden his horizon.
Zhao Yunlan is a Good Man.
The idea of something so overwhelmingly terrifying and brutal that it causes a person to go mad is not a bad idea.
It’s just that when you hype up a culprit/monster like that, you have to deliver something.
But this is Guardian the web drama. :/
“if he’s an orange or a pear” *flashback to Chu Shuzhi and Hei Pao Shi’s toes*
(Continues in part 3)

Trying to Make Good Omens Work with Polytheism
Being a polytheist Good Omens fan, I have a few different mindsets when it comes to the deities of all the other world religions and how it fits into the Good Omens universe. Because I wasn’t raised with any of the Abrahamic religions, I don’t feel right participating in the headcanon surrounding them, so I’m headcanoning with things I do know, even if the Abrahamic headcanons are far more accurate with the actual canon than my pagan headcanon thoughts. ^^;
Under a cut because this is, like all my headcanon posts, long af, but I put it into a numbered list this time to make it... hopefully easy to follow?
I tell myself: let the Christians have their urban fantasy fiction where the other pantheons don’t exist, period. This is the easiest and most respectful take, tbh.
Or, I decide to American Gods the Good Omens canon. This is the second best option since Neil Gaiman wrote both. (If I knew anything about Discworld or Terry Pratchett’s other works, I’d try to work those in, too, somehow. Watch me inadvertently do so anyway.)
Or I decide that the pagan gods exist as angels and demons in the Good Omens universe, just by different names. Metaphors, basically. Crowley is most of if not all the tricksters, for example.
OR, I break my brain in making it so that all the deities exist without American Gods-ing the canon, somehow. Because I evidently like to do things the Hard and Difficult Way.
Maybe as Christianity spread, the angels had a few wars against the other pantheons, and won, particularly against the European pantheons?
Which is why Christmas, for example, is the way it is. After all, most of the traditions are IRL historically stolen from European pagan Yule/Saturnalia/etc. traditions.
And it works with how Christians stole a lot of pagan traditions in general, and how Christians converted a lot of the pagan masses as they spread through Europe.
Some of these deities are still around, either in hiding or having converted to becoming either an angel or a demon.
Many of the Asian pantheons are still going strong. The angels don’t bother with these deities as much for a variety of reasons: they just couldn’t win the wars and so they called a sort of truce, or they couldn’t be fucked to bother with them, or, you know, whatever. Basically, they live and let live.
Some of them do interact with the angels and demons, and they may even be friends, to some extent. I imagine Aziraphale may actually get along with some of the Shinto deities (going along with my headcanon that Aziraphale visits Japan semi-frequently and is a Japanophile).
And yet other deities are at odds with the angels and demons. It’s a tenuous peace with occasional snipes at one another.
ALTERNATIVELY, and more likely, the angels have decided that these deities are all demons by default, and that their heaven is just another version of hell (and their underworlds are another circle of hell). The demons, on the other hand, reject these deities as being Real Demons, but they don’t call them angels, just... their own category of beings, and everyone basically pretends that the others don’t exist.
In this situation, Aziraphale has many mixed feelings and is generally confused, as Heaven’s propaganda calls them all demons by default, but Crowley, knowing better, says that they aren’t demons at all and they’re not angels, they’re Different: some of them are demons, but not fallen angels, and others are straight up gods and goddesses.
While Crowley knows better who and what these deities actually are, he has mixed opinions on them. Many of them have proven to be absolutely no better than his Heaven or Hell, than the angels and demons; but there are some who shares his views on humanity. He wants to reach out to these particular deities, but because of all the bad blood, they are wary of him and don’t want anything to do with him.
After the failed Apocalypse, Aziraphale eventually comes around to getting it when it comes to these deities, and after reading all the books, helps Crowley try to reach out to the particular gods and goddesses who are more affable towards humanity. He has a little bit more success, but it takes a really, really long time. Like, decades if not centuries. (And yes, he tries for the kami first, mostly because he knows Japanese.)*
Those who prescribe to the pantheons of the Americas and Africa, I’ll let you decide what’s happened to these deities in this scenario. I’m not of these cultures, so it feels disrespectful to speculate one way or another.
Or I fall back on a multiverse explanation. Good Omens is a parallel universe where the Christians were right. But there are other parallel universes where they weren’t right. Because this isn’t the only universe the Creator God created. There are some she didn’t have a hand in at all, and others where she is the Top God and the other gods and goddesses answer to her. Kind of related to #1 but, eh.
* Yes, one of the reasons I keep circling back around to Shinto is because that’s the basis for my religious beliefs. Yes, I am actually Japanese. It’s what I know best, so it’s what I feel most comfortable elaborating upon.
Honestly, I’m not married to ANY of these headcanons. It’s just something I think about, sometimes, particularly when I’m feeling left out of the headcanon discussions of “Crowley-is-Raphael” (just an example) because I know nothing of Raphael except that he’s a Ninja Turtle (and lbr, if Crowley were any of the Ninja Turtles, he probably would be Raph), although with some of the more heated debates starting to rise up about it I’m kind of glad I don’t participate in these discussions?
But still, at one second, I may be prescribing to the thought process of #1, and in the very next second, I’m creating a world where #4.2.3 is a Thing. Give me just a few more minutes, and I’m circling around to #2.
Open to discussion! Especially from other polytheists, but monotheists and agnostics and atheists, chime in too, if you’d like!
