Merokok Meningkatkan Risiko Terkena Penyakit Demensia

Inanews - Peneliti kembali menemukan bahaya dari merokok. Penelitian terbaru yang dilakukan di Seoul National University Hospital Korea Selatan menyatakan bahwa merokok tak hanya dapat merusak kesehatan jantung dan otak namun juga meningkatkan risiko demensia di kemudian hari. Penelitian yang dilakukan sejak 2006 hingga 2013 ini melibatkan lebih dari 46 ribu responden usia 60 tahun dan lebih tua. Dilansir dari Healthline, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pria yang tidak pernah merokok dan berhenti merokok memiliki risko demensia yang lebih kecil dibandingkan mereka yang merokok. Pria yang tidak pernah merokok 19% berisiko lebih rendah mengalami demensia dan 18% berisiko lebih rendah mengalami penyakit alzheimer pada khususnya. Selain itu, responden yang berhenti merokok selama empat tahun atau lebih, 14% lebih kecil mengidap demensia secara umum dan 15% berisiko lebih rendah menderita alzheimer. "Gagasan bahwa merokok berdampak pada kesehatan otak Anda dan membuat Anda pada peningkatan risiko penurunan kognitif dan dimensia adalah sesuatu yang telah kita lihat sebelumnya," kata Direktur Senior operasi medis dan ilmiah Alzheimer Association, Heather Snyder. Sebuah meta analisis dari 19 penelitian sebelumnya menyebutkan, orang yang tidak pernah merokok cenderung tidak mengalami demensia dibandingkan mereka yang merokok. A year ago when I returned home I never realized how much my life would be changing. The truth of the matter is even though #COMPTON is always in my heart I wasn't sure if I was ready to return in fact I was almost certain I wasn't. I had so many things in the works I thought and these things would not come to fruition without my being hands-on in creating. So I bucked and fought the process of coming home like I normally do in life at times. But truthfully to return home has been the most honest thing that I have ever done. She has a strong support group and that's not just me #auntJo #auntielynette @hair_is_my_story all play huge parts in helping me to give her the best sense of normalcy we can. To care for #mamacuz is at times challenging but it's always simple because I know without a doubt what my parents mean to me. So now it's time to turn the tides and not only continue what I'm doing in my household but also learn more techniques in delivery and caring so that I can continue making her as comfortable as the disease becomes even more challenging to manage. So with that said I will be taking you on a 7 day trip with us.... Do you think you can handle the pressure?? #mamacuz wasn't feeling the #fucdementia until I explained it to her. She's so sweet she said "what about the people that have dementia you can't just say fuc it!" But when I explained that we aren't saying "fuc the people" we are putting a middle finger up to the disease. We are from old school Compton and if NWA could take a stand with such a strong statement against the police why wouldn't I bang for a cause that's robbing so many people of their precious memories.
