AAA I’m so glad someone sent me this… Grim my everything. My confidant… my best friend… my silly rabbit 😏 But for real, where do I even begin with him?

He started off as a character I made specifically to be able to RP when I was at my lowest, mentally and energy-wise. He’s grown, as I have, and he changed me, honestly. For the better. 

At his conception he was a gruff, depressed, duty-bound and anxious mess that saw himself as nothing but a burden on all he interacted with. He was also cishet (lol) and my first OC I ever really RP’ed out in the world in WoW rather than with a friend, so I didn’t really know what I was allowed to do, or how to interact with folks, so, neither did he. Autism runs deep, as usual.

His past is… more than troubled, in every way I could think up at the time. When I made him, I made him to suffer, as I had been in my mental health pit for years with no hope of getting out. And I wanted to be able to relate. So I gave him aggressive, pushy parents, a line of failures, and a desolate disposition. And yet, seemingly on his own, he developed this will. This desire to improve, to be better than he was the day before, and to help people. He wanted to be better. So, I did too.

He talks little of his past, save for those who he’s close to and have the courage to ask. His plethora of scars aren’t for show, so to speak. He recalls each one’s origin, the one crossing his eye coming to his memory only in flashes. Only in nightmares, buried in his memory.

As a teen he roamed Darkshore, a ghost of a person shrouded in grief and rage. He was found, eventually, by a special someone that allowed him to call her Maggie. She led him to Moonglade where, after months of much struggle in trying to communicate without being able to form words in his worgenistic mouth, began training there under one Katrena Elswith, a disgraced druidic teacher who was the only one who agreed to be his Shan’do.

All of this happened in backstory however, and much more happened beyond this too. He eventually completed his training and joined the effort in the Tanaan Jungle, intending to meet death there, but managing to find a small glimmer of purpose, instead.

Early on in his RP days, he was asked to join a guild as one of the officers (little did they know he was nineteen. His troubles aged him beyond what others thought), and at a guild function he met someone special: Alythae Wildsong.

Where would he even be without Aly? Their relationship progressed quickly, possibly quicker than he wanted, but it was real. She taught him that he could be loved. That he deserved love. He was more than what he could give others. And he taught her, too. An exchange, entirely coincidental at first, and then fully voluntary. 

They went on adventures after adventures together. Some dangerous, some relaxed, some downright ridiculous. But they worked through them together, hands locked together in a bond as they discovered things about each other, and things about themselves that they did not know. Deception. And blood magic. Oh, the blood magic.

He nearly lost himself to it, during the Fourth War. The blight in Darkshore was destroying his body, despite his attempted protections, and he was nearly killed by it. A necessary evil, he thought. His fur gone, his skin blight-pocced, he delved into it. It felt… natural, for reasons he could not yet explain why. 

And yet, it was consuming him.

Aly brought him back. Cleansed him enough for him to make a recovery. But he found the magic…innate, somehow. He learned why, eventually, but that’s not something he likes to share pretty much ever. Regardless, he and Aly finally  got married in December after several long years of engagement, and now happily live together in Feralas! Along with their many animals, and Grim’s animal scouts, and of course their dog Pippin. 

This has already gone on WAY longer than I intended but this feels just like the tip of the iceberg lol. I know this is cheesy but having Grim, knowing what he’s gone through and still he continues on… it gives me reason to be better, too. If he can go through all that and still be a good person, I can too. Without Aly he wouldn’t be half the character he is today, so thank you so much to @tyranduh you mean so much 2 me.

What song they associate with them: 

The farthest length they’d travel for them:  Risri has only spoken with Alythae a handful of times, but as a fellow Kaldorei she would help if asked.

How comfortable they are with them:  As a fellow druid, Risri is comfortable around her.

Would they take a beating for them:  It depends upon the circumstances.

Would they give a beating for them:  Again, it depends upon the cirumstances.

Would they date them:  To get to know her as a friend, sure.

Giving In

► Have you ever broken someone’s heart ➔ I’m sure I have. But it always out of the best intentions. I’m sorry it came to that. I fooled myself and others repeatedly for a long time.

► Are you afraid of commitments ➔ No, not at all. I used to be. 

► Have you hugged someone within the last week? ➔  Yes! I’ve hugged quite a few people within the past week. Hugging is nice! 

► Have you ever had a secret admirer ➔ How would I know if they kept it a secret? I think every time I have admired someone there was no secret about it on my part. Why not just be open and forward? 

► Have you ever broken your own heart? ➔ I’m not sure what this means. Probably a time or two. I’m usually over-eager to prove things to people.

► A few best friends or many regular friends  ➔  Many regular friends! I try to befriend everyone I meet and I like having lots of friends. I enjoy helping others! 

► Wild night out or romantic night in ➔ Oh no, this is hard, again! It depends on my mood, I think. I enjoy wild nights out with my friends, but romantic nights in are fun with my dearest, as well. What about a night out that isn’t wild? A peaceful night out. Those are the best. 

► Day or night ➔ Uh, night, duh! But I’ve been more acclimated to doing things during the day since I started spending time with humans, in human cities, and so on.

► Been caught sneaking out ➔ When I was young, yes, many times before I moved out to live on my own. If my mother caught me, she would warn me before letting me go out during the day anyway. If my father caught me, I would be in lots of trouble. 

► Fallen down/up the stairs ➔ I don’t think I ever have..Maybe once or twice? When drunk or..? 

► Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? ➔ Yes. A million times, yes. 

► Wanted to disappear ➔ Yes, and I have a few times over.

► Smile or eyes ➔ Is it hypocritical if I say eyes? Since I only have one natural one? Eyes, sorry! 

► Shorter or Taller ➔ Taller. I don’t like being looked up at! Being considered short for most of my life makes me feel weird when I can be seen as tall by humans, dwarves, gnomes, and others now. 

► Intelligence or Attraction ➔ Again, is it hypocrtical if I say intelligence? I don’t believe I’m that intelligent...I like to marvel at others’ intelligence. Although I don’t mind someone who is attractive!

► Hook-up or Relationship ➔ Relationship, I guess.

FAMILY

► Do you and your family get along ➔ It’s off and on. I used to be a brat. Hopefully I can patch things up relatively positively now. 

► Would you say you have a “messed up life” ➔ Uh... No. I don’t think anyone really has a ‘messed up life’. I think everyone has a set of circumstances that they have to overcome. To assume your life is more ‘messed up’ than anyone else’s... is kind of silly. You should always be grateful for what you have here and now. 

► Have you ever ran away from home ➔ A handful of times when I was younger. 

► Have you ever gotten kicked out ➔ No! My mother was always understanding of me, and tried to let me flourish. I left by my own choice when I felt myself ready. 

FRIENDS

► Do you secretly hate one of your friends ➔ No, of course not. I can’t be friends with someone I hate. 

► Do you consider all of your friends good friends ➔ As in do I consider them all close or do I consider them all  good at being friends? I have a few that I believe are closer to me than others. But there are a lot of people I also keep at an arm’s distance. 

► Who is your best friend ➔ Probably Grim. He is the most reliable and sturdy person I know. I can always depend on him, and he’s very supportive! 

► Who knows everything about you ➔ Good question. No one, and I’d like for it to stay that way.

1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?Aly’s full name is just Alythae Wildsong. I picked it based on liking the phonetics and thinking they fell in line with typical Kal’dorei names. It doesn’t really mean anything!

21. Do they have a temper? Are they patient? What are they like when they do lose their temper?Yes, she does have a temper. But, she can also be patient. It depends on who she’s talking to and what she has to be patient about. She’s good at taking a breather when she knows she’s about to lose her mind. If she doesn’t get to distance herself from a situation that’s upsetting her, she tends to lash out and she knows how hurtful she can be. 

22. What are their favourite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?Aly is not a shit talker at all. If she doesn’t like you, it’s obvious. She wears her emotions on her sleeve and is incredibly honest. I’d say she doesn’t really have any favorite insults, but she can be very cruel because if she insults you, it’s based around the truth.

30. Do they exercise? Regularly? Or only when forced? What do they act like pre-work out and post-work out?She really leads too busy and active of a lifestyle to make time to work out anymore. When she was younger, she might of. She doesn’t really need to with how she’s built and her natural physiology combined with the fact she’s almost always on her feet.
