i've always been lowkey obsessed with decades and how trends happen and stuff, and looking at 2020-2024 we're almost halfway through the decade and top 40 music has been so...underwhelming. it almost reminds me of the early 90s though, i wonder if next year/the year after some big change is gonna happen when it comes to popular genres
