☆ Day 21 - FEAR ☆ I had some fun with this one too ~ learning to create shadows through hatching and crosshatching ♡ Also I’m loving drawing Kaz’ fangs !! I gotta say that although I love the plumchester brush pen, I still adore the Kuretake !! DAY 5: HERBS . NOPE, I'm not going to do the full 30 days. I am still in the process of moving, so I will release as many prompts as I can. . About the drawing: herbs are used for many many things, but something that has always fascinated me, has been poisons. Particularly, plant-based poisons. In this picture, I included two of the most poisonous plants known to men: Belladonna and Ricin. . 🌿🍇 Atropa belladonna, or deadly nightshade, is a plant of the Solanaceae, a family that includes tomatoes, chili, and potatoes. The belladonna plant is native to Europe, and its fruits contain high doses of several toxins, among them atropine, which affect the nervous system causing hallucinations. It is so strong, that only a handful of berries can cause a grown person to drop dead within minutes. Historically, there are records of its use by the Roman high-class to kill possible enemies. . 🍁🍂 Ricinus communis is a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family, widespread throughout the American continent, which is resistant to disturbance and can thrive in human settlements. The castor oil extracted from this plant is used in both medicine and as a precursor for fuels and industrial lubricants. It contains a substance called Ricin, which is highly toxic in its purified state.
