My new favorite shirt has arrived. An original vintage souvenir t-shirt from the infamous Macys Thanksgiving Day "Blood Parade" of 1982. Available now in my NightmAIres Collection at Glitch Goods - and only $13 this week, along with all our other regular t-shirts and v-necks!
I'm very stoked with how this turned out. Itās extremely fun designing merchandise from my little world of past events/places/bands/movies that never existed. I put some aging texture onto this one to give the print a bit of a worn/vintage feel.
I wanted it to feel like a real souvenir shirt of questionable taste sold on the streets immediately after a major incident/tragedy. Lightly inspired by the horrendously tacky shirts I saw for sale on Canal Street NYC in the days following 9/11 - one of them had a picture of the towers burning with the text ā9.11.01 - I CANāT BELIEVE I GOT OUT!ā Someone out there will really make souvenir merch for anything, and now that includes the Macys Thanksgiving Day Blood Parade of 1982.

The first Torrid store -Ā Brea Mall - Brea, CA (Opened April 18, 2001)
Designed by JGA, Inc.Ā
From the book: āThe retailer, Hot Topic, based in City of Industry, CA, started a short 12 years ago with a concept and a target market; cutting edge apparel, accessories and novelty items--all inspired by alternative music, oriented towards a hip and trendy, teenage market. Hot Topic changed the look of their retail settings, which are usually located in mainstream malls, and the company has recently taken aim at another special market. The new focus is on plus-size teens; an area that the fashion market seems to have neglected.Ā
Up until this time the 15-30 year old hip and trendy young women who wear sizes 14-26 had no other choice but to shop in the larger size women's shops where the fashions were tailored to the more matronly and conservative tastes. That is how Torrid was born!Ā
Torrid was introduced in a new, hot and fun retail setting designed by JGA, Inc. of Southfield, MI which has designed the various prototypes for the Hot Topic stores as well. To be sure of the need for such a niche to be filled, the company opened five Torrid shops almost simultaneously; the first in Brea, CA, followed by stores in malls in Mission Viejo, CA, Annapolis, MD, Omaha, NE, N. Attleboro, MA, and Littleton, CO. The merchandise offerings are clustered as "Streetwear," "Clubwear," Rockabilly Wear," and Renaissance Wear" and the stores average about 2,750 SF. Besides the "everyday" slacks and novelty T-shirts, these larger size young women can find black vinyl pants and mini-skirts, black corsets, dog-collar chokers and platform shoes as well as retro-inspired clothing and accessories. In addition to the gothic and prom dresses, Torrid also carries a full line of lingerie for this particular market. Listening to the target market, Hot Topic's Torrid offers teenagers and up the opportunity to look "girly yet fierce."Ā
The design objective for the prototype store that was designed by JGA, Inc. was to create "a celebration of abundance" and make the setting as unique, unconventional and spirited as the plus-size young women who will be shopping here. Inspired by a "mythological, after-hours club in New Orleans," the atmosphere is romantic, dark and filled with a sense of "unbridled passion." "From the signature flaming heart icon to the curving voluptuous lines throughout the store, excessive materials and scale mirror the zest of the Torrid woman." It starts out front with the shopper-stopping facade which serves as a dramatic gateway to the store.Ā
The curvaceous and sensuous "hourglass" figures of the Torrid customer is expressed in the hand-crafted metalwork and the backlit translucent glass glowing red. A "drippy" red chandelier and theĀ hand blown flaming heart torcheres add to the store's distinctive sense of place and being. The mosaic porcelain tile floor sets the color palette of jewel tones and metallics. "Visually complex, layers of finishes and architectural pieces evoke a one-of-a-kind artistic flavor." The eclectic mix of fixtures, furniture and furnishings-even the armoires--add to the New Orleans flavor. The hand painted, whimsical and overscaled armoires or cabinets are used to anchor the various zones within the store and at the center of the space a large bronze metallic drape further divides the departments.
The designers added special touches to each area to create that unique, one-of-a-kind feeling to the design. Specially designed, oversized red sculptured chairs with slatted backs are featured in the shoe area. Shoes and accessories are displayed on the slatted backs. The lingerie area takes on a more intimate and exotic--almost Moroccan--feeling with the hand blown glass chandeliers suspended down from large plaster domes. Seen behind this area--beyond a hand painted wall and arc--are the individual, oversized dressing roomsĀ which are equipped with flattering uplights and decorative chandeliers that are visible from other parts of the store. The cash wrap becomes a "focal fantasy" in the total design and it resembles a giant canopy bed topped with twisting shapes and forms.
The space is filled with a pulsating excitement that is so appropriate for the merchandise and the young clientele. In addition to the shimmering palette of rich, deep colors, the warm colored downlights not only enrich the ambient colors and textures but they enhance the merchandise display. The traditional long and narrow mall space is broken up into more personal and individual zones by the variations in ceiling heights, the tin ceilings, finials and the assorted wall coverings. The use of brocades, metallics, and jewel tones on the walls also help to differentiate areas in the store. The metal fixture system--tortoise shell like in appearance--was customized to accommodate the products unique size and length requirements.
If all goes as well as anticipated we can expect to see more and more Torrid shops opening up across the USA- maybe even as many as 700 outlets!ā

q!charlie character design & style guide | qsmp headcanons
Charlie's style is simple for the most part, with the exception of those rare days that he decides to overthink and overcomplicate it. The common theme amongst his clothing is "comically oversized". He's a big fan of silly t-shirts layered with a loose fitting, long sleeved shirt underneath or some type of button down on top. He most often wears jorts but alternates with jeans or another type of baggy shorts. Occasionally Charlie likes to layer using more traditionally nerdy apparel, such as vests or ties, but the look still remains very casual and gives the vibes of haphazardly being thrown together. (Or sometimes there is so much overthinking gone into his outfit that it looks as though he put on whatever was within an arm's reach in that moment.)

fair print-on-demand for artists?
i'm making this its own post for more visibility - feel free to reblog, i'm primarily looking to hear from other artists rather than from customers.
quick definition: a print-on-demand service (POD) is a company that allows you to upload your designs (that you retain full rights to) and have them printed on a variety of products - usually t-shirts & other apparel, stickers, mugs, etc. - by the company itself or a subcontractor. the key here is that you're not ordering a supply of products to sell yourself (or not) at a later date, you're offering customers the ability to go to this website and select a potential product which is then printed on demand, and the company handles all the interaction with the customer (shipping, quality & returns, etc.). because they're doing the manufacturing & shipping, they take a significant cut, but different companies have different pricing structures & some are more fair to artists in terms of profit margins than others.
TLDR: i'm looking for a new POD service to replace my Redbubble account, which i deleted after they decided to severely undercut creators (especially small artists). more details below, please read before you rec!
so the nice thing about POD is that it's passive income - you made the work, you put it up & leave it, people buy things when they want & you get a bit of money when that happens. i also - infrequently! - run an Etsy shop where i sell things i've either handmade or ordered from suppliers (mostly stickers). i get more money from that, yes, and also it's a lot more work on my end. i primarily work as a freelancer illustrator, i've started selling at (COVID cautious) in-person events again, & i'm disabled - this is why my Etsy has been empty all year.
i am very lucky to have enough of a following to be able to regularly sell all my stock when i do put it on Etsy, and (when I had an account) to have a smaller but steadier trickle of income from POD. i do not have enough of a following for it to make sense for me to order large quantities of apparel-type products & sell them myself.
it's frustrating to see that many alternatives to Redbubble (like Bonfire or Spring) have moved to a "campaign" model where you release a design in a time-limited campaign with a selling goal, aggressively promote it on social media, & then all the products (shirts, whatever) are shipped at the same time. i understand why it exists - larger batches mean lower manufacturing costs & higher profit - but for someone like me who doesn't have a massive social media following or really even a big presence now that Twitter is dying, i'm not sure it could work. for me the point is that i put it up, i leave it alone, i direct people towards my shop & the small handful of beautiful weirdos who vibe with my work can buy what they want on their own time (i adore you, weirdos! there are so many more of you than i ever expected, but i am not, as the kids say, an "influencer")
i've been researching various companies & i keep finding that Redbubble, prior to their nasty fee restructuring, seemed to have some of the fairest profit margins due to the ability to set your own pricing above the manufacturing costs. what i want to hear from other artists is where you sell & if you feel like different systems (Society6's 10%, for example, or Threadless' artist cost-setting vs. letting them manage your shop & offer discounts to move more products) work or are ripping you off.
thanks so much for reading & solidarity to all the other working artists who are struggling to stay afloat as various social media collapses & corporate greed continues to cut our opportunities in half!!! for the love of fuck just let me make things & get paid

Hello! I don't usually send asks off anon (since this is a backup account connected to my main haha) but I just really wanted to thank you for all the amazing things you sell!! I wear my Ingo haori a lot, and would wear my Pearl Clan hoodie more if I didn't live in Australia. They both make me feel really happy and comfortable in a way most clothing doesn't. I've preordered both the hat and bag from you as well, and I hope to order both the dolls and another Ingo haori in the future since I wear mine so much!
I was wondering if you ever plan to restock some of your old products? I missed out on buying a pearl clan shirt back when you sold them, and I wanted to know if you plan to restock them in the future since it'd be a good temperature-comfortable alternate to the hoodie. Of course, whatever your choices of products is completely amazing, and I'll always look forward to whatever you choose to create!
Thank you for everything you've shared with us, from art to clothing items, and I'm so happy I found out about your accounts when I did.
Oh my gosh,thank you for your kind words! I've been feeling a bit down about the stuff I make recently; so, this made me smile.
As for you question, I will be adding a lot of apparel this year. With that I will try to bring back some of the previous designs. Along with that I am working on trying to make shirt and hoodie variants of certain designs with seasons and climates in mind. I'm a cold person so I usually have a hoodie on all year (anemia sets in). But that's usually paired with a T shirt. So doing both works for me.
Not sure all of what next year with bring, but thank you for joining me on the journey where ever it takes us.

Making the Switch: Is Bamboo Apparel Worth Ditching Your Regular Clothes Australia?
For years, cotton has reigned supreme in Australian wardrobes. Its breathability, comfort, and versatility have made it a reliable choice for everyday wear. However, a new contender is emerging on the scene: Bamboo Apparel Australia. This innovative clothing option boasts unique advantages, prompting the question ā is it worth ditching your regular clothes for bamboo? Let's delve into the pros and cons of both fabrics to help you decide.
Comfort Revolution: Softness Like Never Before
One of the biggest draws of bamboo clothes Australia is their unparalleled softness. Bamboo fibres are naturally smooth and round, unlike cotton, which can sometimes feel slightly rough. This translates to pure comfort, like wearing a gentle hug throughout the day. Whether battling the scorching Australian sun or enjoying a breezy coastal evening, bamboo apparel offers a luxurious softness that's hard to beat.
Breathability Matters: Staying Cool and Fresh
Comfort extends beyond just softness. Australian summers demand fabrics that let your skin breathe, and cotton and bamboo excel in this area to an extent. However, bamboo has a clear edge.Ā Bamboo Apparel Australia utilizes the naturally porous nature of bamboo fibres, allowing for exceptional air circulation and moisture-wicking properties. This means staying cool and fresh throughout the day, even on the hottest days Down Under.
Movement Matters: Flexibility for the Active Aussie Lifestyle
Australians are known for their active lifestyles, and their clothing needs to reflect that. Traditional cotton clothing can sometimes feel restrictive, especially for those who value freedom of movement. Bamboo Apparel Australia offers a solution. The natural drape and flexibility of bamboo fabric allow for a broader range of motion, making them perfect for any activity your day throws your way.
Style Showdown: Versatility for Every Occasion
Cotton has long been a champion of versatility, easily transitioning from casual to semi-formal settings. However, bamboo clothes in Australia are also proving to be surprisingly versatile. While they may not be suitable for the most formal occasions, bamboo dresses, pants, and shirts can be dressed in blazers and heels for a polished work look. Ā Pair them with a t-shirt or a flowy top for a casual vibe.Ā The variety of styles and cuts available in bamboo apparel allows you to create outfits for various occasions.
Durability Test: Can Bamboo Withstand the Aussie Climate?
Australian life can be harsh on clothes. Durability is crucial between the hot sun, frequent washing, and outdoor adventures. The good news is that bamboo apparel Australia is surprisingly durable. Bamboo fibres are solid and resilient. With proper care, your bamboo clothes can become dependable staples in your wardrobe, maintaining their shape and softness even after multiple washes.
Sustainable Choice: Dressing with a Conscience
In today's eco-conscious world, the environmental impact of our clothing choices matters. Traditional cotton production, the primary material in most clothes, requires significant water and pesticides. Bamboo Clothes Australia offer a sustainable alternative. Bamboo is a rapidly renewable resource that thrives with minimal water and no pesticides. The production process of bamboo clothing also uses less water and chemicals than cotton, making it a more sustainable option for the planet.
The Verdict: Comfort Takes the Crown (But Keep Your Cotton Favorites)
While cotton will likely remain a wardrobe staple for its versatility and affordability, bamboo apparel in Australia offers a compelling alternative, especially when comfort and sustainability are top priorities. Bamboo's unparalleled softness, breathability, and flexibility make it a comfortable choice for any activity. Additionally, its surprising versatility and eco-friendly nature make it a strong contender for a place in your wardrobe.
However, the decision doesn't have to be all or nothing. Bamboo clothes Australia can coexist with your existing cotton wardrobe. Ā Bamboo apparel is a welcome addition to your everyday wear collection for ultimate comfort and a sustainable choice.Ā For those days where affordability or a specific style is the priority, cotton remains a reliable option.
So, why not embrace the variety? Invest in a few critical pieces of bamboo clothes Australia and experience the comfort revolution for yourself. You might find your new favourite clothing companion perfect for the Australian climate and lifestyle.

in my project to make too many minecraft characters as sims i have currently finished the following [dsmp ones] (under the cut)
DSMP;
Wilbur;Ā
LāManberg War of Independence General Wilbur/Election Arc Wilbur [napoleon-era French military uniform skin]
Pogtopia Wilbur [trenchcoat skin]
Ghostbur [... ghostbur]
Revived Wilbur/Wilburger Era Wilbur [grey hairs now lol]
Post-Reset Wilbur [My alternate canon-adjacent interpretation of a post-reset au that incorporates a lot of other changes and ignores some stuff... letās call it CLRAU for now so I donāt have to state All That every time.]Ā
Ur usual wils
a post-reset Wil.Ā
Iām not really happy with this one, but I also donāt really... care enough to fix the issues. Ah well. I like some aspects more than others, and it suits the purpose (for him to exist at all) so thatās... whatever. Itās whatever.Ā
Tommy;
Base Tommy (not LMWI Tommy) [usual skin with the red and white t-shirt + the beige cargos]
Post-Exile/Pre-Doomsday Tommy. [green bandana skin reminiscent of Wilburās attire during pogtopia]
I donāt actually have them saved individually so I had to go searching for which era groupings Iād put them in, lol. Hereās base tommy;
The devil child /literal was too good to pass up, sorry. Itās part of the CLRAU stuff. As Xephos would say; donāt worry about it! :D [Dad!Schlatt AU with Tubbo is boring to me. Dad!Schlatt for Tommy... hehehehe... >:)]
Gonna be honest and say I simply could not be fucking bothered as I am barely invested (read: not really at all) so... yeah. This one was pretty lazy. Slapped an alpha skin on him for the detail and called it day so I wouldnāt have to invest time doing it myself. Did the best I could matching the colours and the outfit to compensate.Ā
Only thing different for post-exile disc-obsessed Tommy is his outfit tbh so. Canāt be arsed. Imagine it I guess.
Tubbo;
Base Tubbo [green shirt blue jeans. also he is BLOND, guys cāmon.]
Manberg Arc Tubbo
President Tubbo
Snowchester Tubbo
Thereās another Tubbo somewhere but heās hiding and I canāt be bothered to find him. Imagine, again, if you will, President Tubbo, based on these fellas. Iām straight-up not happy with them, which is the reason why I canāt be bothered to find the missing one. May redo entirely, but probably not. Only thing I like is the choice to forgo completely the inane probably dad!schlatt related design choices. heās a goat/bee hybrid. Not a sheep. And heās BLOND. If heās brunet bc the cc is brunet.... fellas. fellas what are you doing. and why are you doing it? rpf? why would you do that? stop that. The MC skin is blond. So heās blond. End all, be all, full-fucking-stop. Eye colour can be whatever but hair colour is one of the few things I, being blind, can notice about a person, so the accuracy of it matters to me so I can recognise people. I had no fucking clue who the fanart of Tubbo was even supposed to be for like half a year. Tubbo is blonde; I was looking for a blond kid. Only found Tommy. Result: Immense confusion and genuine worry Iād gotten something wrong somewhere fundamental about the story, but NOPE. The fandom was just lying to me! Thanks for that, guys.Ā
Karl;
Base Karl [his attire isnāt accurate to his skin because i just canāt find a hoodie like that. Iāve done the best I can, though.]
His face is good when compared against the only thing that matters (the skin), but his outfit is... only really as close as I could get with what I had - spent forever looking for something even akin to his hoodie but I just couldnāt find anything even slightly resembling it, alas. So, yeah. Hereās what I came up with as a result. Iām not happy with it, and am still on the search for more accurate apparel.Ā
Btw, I do have this, which I used for his winter gear, but itās not close enough for me to be satisfied using it for everyday wear.Ā
Sapnap;
Base Sapnap [usual skin with the white tunic/long tshirt + flame symbol, black everything else, white headband thing.]
Sapnap Iām pretty dang happy with. I went with what matched his skin most for everything for the colour tones, referencing only a few select fanarts more for attire interpretation and mostly making it up as I went along elsewise. I didnāt get to use all the cc I wanted to on him, but what I did use I think I used well. Some of his outfits are more accurate than others, of course. I actually think the following is more accurate than the default (though I like the default the most);
Though, of course, itās lacking a flame decal on the t-shirt.Ā
Schlatt;
Election Arc/President Schlatt {can be used for both) [usual suits, some outfits are tidy and some are rumpled, to represent the character arc.]
schpirit/glatt {missed out on such a great pun not using schpirit smh anyway. yeah. Glatt.) [ghost skin]
Revived Schlatt [CLRAU. based on the canon fact Q won their wager but still wanted to go about reviving him anyway for... some reason... and so Schlatt would be working for Q in this part of the timeline.]
Post-Reset Schlatt [CLRAU, again, clearly. Pretty much the same as Post-Nukes/Revived schlatt tbh. Doesnāt have a separate sim.]
One demonstration of General Face:
But - look. Thereās too many of this fella for pictures of all of him so just. Have the lineup.
Blurry man. Heās actually one of my best sims, for the record. Lmao.Ā
Anyway; heās based, actually, on an artbreeder of him I guided to generation;
Which was intended more for his SCU self, but since thatās just The Same Fucking Guy (heās just got amnesia) in my CLRAU continuity... yeah. Relevant.
I donāt do this often, but it really helps me reference things because I canāt visualise for shit. Iām also blind, so referencing undetailed images tends to end up as a mess - the less detail there is, the less detail there is for my shitty eyes to miss, so the less detail I actually see overall. I needed a realistic reference to get even vaguely close to matching it, and as I iterate later, and to iterate it now; fuck rpf. No way was I ever going to reference the cc for this shit. Yike. Bye. Making up c!Schlattās face on his skin was the only way to go, so I just had to make do. If AI art offends you... well. Not much to be done about it now, Iām afraid. Already made the image. (And many more, besides.)Ā
Hannah;
Base Hannah [pink top and skirt skin with the winding roses on her limbs.]
Eggpire Hannah [CLRAU personal interpretation of Egg follower aesthetics so I can have as much fun as possible making evil designs for everyone <3)
Anyway i took theĀ āfairyā part of Hannah X Rose Fairy pretty literally. I took... liberties.Ā
I mean, it makes it pretty obvious sheās been Egged, but like... the idea was too cool to me for passing it up to be an option.Ā
Palette Swaps are just too fun <3
Anyway; based this on literally fuck all. Hard to find fanart for her dsmp skin? Dunno why. Maybe just looking in the wrong place. Anyway, yeah. Did my best. Eyebrows are A Bit High. Iām still trying to figure out the best way to make sims - I want them looking unique, but not uncanny, you know? and TS4 has a habit of the latter when you try for the former. Sighing. Hannah looks decent, though, I think she turned out well. Not uncanny. Which was the aim. I donāt know if she looks right, though, since I only really had her skin for reference, and those 5 pixels donāt really tell me much other than colour palette.Ā
Nikki;
Post-Manburg Nikki {white top willās cloak pink hair skin)
This sim is basically just me... trying to figure out how to interpret nikkiās skins. So thereās two versions of the white top cloak idea.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B.
You also get a syndicate fit;
Also; she has the most hairstyles out of all my mc sims, to boot. Because I wanted to.
The reason being I was trying out some new things with the way I did her face and <3 <3 <3. Sheās one of my better sims.Ā
Quackity;
Pre-DSMP Q [CLRAU backstory stuff. Heard he arrived with Capt. Puffyās boat once and sort of ran with it + thereās some actual backstory stuff that ties in with why that happened and what kind of hybrid i make him (not a duck) so... yeah. Lots and LOTS of headcanon. Cannot stress that enough.]
Pre-Election Arc Q [era when he was mostly just helping out Tommy and Tubbo run a drug dealing business out of the og Lāmanberg van or whatever idk check the wiki]
Election Arc/Manberg Q [suit skin sunglasses]
Pogtopia Q [deconstruction of suit + sunglasses based on a vague amount of realism, meaning heās not got access to his full wardrobe what with it being in Manberg so heās borrowing bits and pieces and mixing them with the suit he was wearing when he left Manberg.]Ā
Mexican LāManberg + El Rapids/The Butcher Army General Q [complete with bloody apron!]
Las Nevadas Q
Post-Nevadas/Pre-Reset Q [CLRAU stuff based on the - supposedly canonical and stated by Qās cc himself, though i got that info secondhand so idk - notion he survived the fall because it wasnāt his third life he lost that day.]
Post-Reset Q [CLRAU]
Low res images bc. wow thereās so many of this one guy... not gonna go thru the effort of getting proper pics. sorry. one face though. one consolation face.Ā
Iām... sighing, just a bit. I really did try, I referenced a lot of fanart and his skins and stuff, but those five pixels off-centre on the wrong layer donāt tell me much, and a lot of the fanart is super stylised and looks AMAZING, but doesnāt help me here. Again, I donāt actually know what any of the ccs look like (I know, itās like not having star wars spoilers - I really make an effort to avoid as much rpf stuff as possible) so as not to get influence from that even subconsciously, but I canāt know if the fanart hasnāt had it because of that, you know? So I donāt even want to reference the fanart too heavily jic. So... yeah. This is what I came up with. I donāt really like the scars - theyāre not present enough, not visceral enough, and I donāt have the right teeth, which are very important for a Nevadas era Q. But oh well. Did my best, as always - but Iām not sure if I missed the mark, here, or not. Might just be because out of all the DSMP characters i know things about* (*still havenāt watched it, remember?) Q is the one I find the most interesting, storyline-wise. But yeah. I really did try.Ā
Eret;Ā
Red Royal Military Garb Lord Eret [Iām dumb and kind of forgot to check when this skin was used. Itās the one with the red military royal uniform. most of their skins have the blue lipstick so that wouldnāt help mentioning to find it lol. Not LāManberg Eret though, for certain. Pretty sure itās Lord Eret era post-lāmanberg but Iām... not certain.]
Lucky for you guys I just went thru a panic at the fact Eret was missing from my list of saved sims </3 so since iāve found them u get a proper pic <3
did the best I could /genuinely. pls remember: am blind. Minecraft skins are super hard for me to parse and dear god will i literally fucking NEVER base these on the ccs. gross and weird. rpf bad. theyāre voice actors and write for the story via improv NOT the characters themselves. easy to understand but isnāt commonly understood for some reason. and yet RvB and Critical Role are treated as fictional... have consistent standards guys. Please. I use a little fanart reference for reasons of lack of creativity so if it resembles the cc... no it doesnāt <3
Technoblade;
Base Techno (red regency-ish era menās finery + jewelled crown; most literal interpretation I could get of his skin, so heās very pink.]
Tried real hard guys but sims is limited to... well... sims. humanoids. Tried real hard though. Promise. Pigman (hybrid) sim Techno, for your ability to perceive things.Ā
His crown also seems to have reset to clipping really badly >:[ trust me I had it looking right before.... sigh.
Have a blurry little preview img tech to prove it <3.Ā
Thatās all the TS4DSMPCs Iāve made. Iāll make another post or two for the others.Ā
#hmmm. sure i'll maintag#dsmp#dsmp sims#idk. idk. should've posted this to my simblr. should absolutely not have posted this to my simblr lmao#only post finished things to your simblrs. just good practise
