it's crazy how ... well idk. i'm not justified in having this opinion bc i haven't listened to that much yet, BUT. it feels like stevie wonder's music as an adult was way way WAYY better than any of the stuff he did as a kid or teenager. maybe that's obvious or to be expected, but ofc i'm comparing him with mj. who did songs at age 10 that, imo, absolutely stand up with his best work as an adult. maybe it just has to do with the motown writers. and stevie was the first child prodigy at motown, so the writers and producers had learned a lot by the time the jackson 5 showed up
#again to be fair i haven't listened to a ton. especially stuff from when he was a KID kid#the thing about stevie#he had a great voice and was good at a lot of instruments#BUT. and i do like hearing him as a kid. BUT. i don't wanna listen to everything of his just to hear his voice yk?#michael... i'll sit through some songs i think are duds or omg jermaine on lead michael in the bg... just bc i want to hear THAT VOICE#i love comparing sw and mj. they were so similar and yet...#also. like the majority of the first 2 j5 albums. the majority of his first 2 solo albums. i love it just as much as thriller or dangerous#now otw is maybe a different story. i think i have to face the fact that otw is my favorite mj album. it always was. there's no beating it.
