I hate when a fictional man does heinous things and the fandom goes "aw hes babygirl" but as soon as its a woman, they call her irredeemable and evil

Does Shigure and Akito really come off as grooming? Even with the age gap it implies they weren't really close when they were young and Shigure's sole interaction with her was his confession with the flower, other than that I got the impression he kept his distance from her.
Like, my point is that the argument could be made that Shigure was grooming Akito, at least a little. All of his actions towards her was getting her to behave the way he wanted her to. On one hand, Akito’s mindset was crazy unhealthy, and it’s why she was so abusive. So he’s not an ass for wanting to snap her out of her fantasy about the curse. But, again, his end goal was “give up on the curse and focus on me,” which is already fucked up since his intention was less about helping her and more about being able to be in a relationship with her. That compounded with the age gap makes his actions creepy. At the very least, it emphasizes a really unhealthy dynamic between the two, which is likely what everyone is picking up on when they go on about not liking the two as a couple.
Then when you add that Takaya-sensei has done multiple huge age gaps between couples in this one story, some close to a full decade in between them, all with the girls being younger (as opposed to a younger boy with an older girl), and with two of them being minors hooking up with grown ass men (again, Kyoko was literally in MIDDLE SCHOOL when she met Katsuya, who was a student teacher AT HER MIDDLE SCHOOL), then it’s more than a one-off “eh” and becomes a pattern. I think this is also why people harp on the age gap: it’s hard to excuse that when it’s something Takaya seems to want to, like, normalize and show as okay. While Kureno and Katsuya (not Shigure lol) are shown as being mature and mild mannered men who would never take advantage of a vulnerable teenager (blah blah blah), in real life, men their age who pursue children Kyoko and Uo’s ages are predators. Plain and simple.
Also, as a side, I’ve seen other people respond to similar anons, so idk if you’re the same person going around asking people about Akito and Shigure. Nor do I know what you’re trying to get people to say or condone. If you like them, whatever. Live and let live.
I do want to say this though: I’m not sure how old you are, and if reading comprehension just isn’t being taught at all in schools anymore, but you’d have to be obtuse as hell to think that Shigure only interacted with Akito once, when he “confessed” to her, then never spoke to her again until she turned 18 or some shit. Like what? Like, I hate to be mean and say you’re wrong, but you’re straight wrong on that. In one of Yuki’s flashbacks, he talks about there being a time where Akito was CRYING on Shigure’s shoulder when they were kids. Meaning Akito often turned to Shigure when she was upset. And I assume that because I know that a child isn’t going to go running to some stranger they don’t know or to some random person when they’re upset and cry on their shoulder. A child is going to go to someone they know is safe to cry to. Meaning that wasn’t the first time she’d turned to him.

Look, I even managed to find the panel of it.
Like, I don’t care to really go into details about Shigure and Akito’s relationship. I don’t like it, their kid is cute and very mild-mannered, so good on them for raising a good son. And whether or not Shigure did groom Akito is a conversation I’m just not invested in having. But if you want to make your point, don’t make up fake facts to try to justify it. The text is vague at times, but there’s enough to make educated inferences. Be smart about this shit, mayne.
